Ecclesiastes Research Paper
Ecclesiastes:
Ecclesiastes means the preacher , the teacher , or assembler. While the author is not identified by name
he does identify himself as the preacher, the son of David, king in Jerusalem (1:1); I the Preacher was
king over Israel in Jerusalem. (1:12) It is a widely held belief that Solomon wrote Ecclesiastes as well
as other wisdom literature in the bible. Scholars assume it was written during the reign of King
Solomon a little before Solomons death from 970 935 BC.
In Ecclesiastes, Solomon is looking back over a time when he was away from God and his redemption
of finding him again. He tried every pursuit under the sun he had many accomplishments, lived the
life of luxury, politics, and wisdom and in excess found that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

He was a prophet during the time of Jeroboam II. Jonah s defining event was being swallowed by a
whale for disobeying God by not going to Nineveh to warn them. Jonah is credited with writing the
book of his namesake where the account of the whale is told.
God called Jonah to Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city and cry aginst it; for their wickedness is come
up before me. (Jon 1:2) Jonah fled Gods calling to Tarshish. During his escape a great storm came
upon the boat that he was on. So the crew cast him into the sea where the lord had prepared a great
fish to swallow up Jonah. And Jonah was in the belly of the fish three days and three nights. In
Matthew 12:40 Jesus refrences this as Jonah being in a whales belly for three days. While in the belly
of the fish Jonah prayed to God to let him out. the Lord spoke unto the fish, and it vomited out Jonah
upon the dry land .(Jon 2:10) Jonah then went to Ninevah and cried, and said, Yet forty days, and
Nineveh shall be overthrown. ( Jon 3:4). Ninevah repented and turned back to God and he showed
mercy. Jonah was still angry because God showed this savage nation mercy. God then explained to
Jonah that everyone needs mercy even your greatest

Analysis Of The Dragon In My Garage By Carl Sagan
The building was a marvel of modern engineering. A carbon neutral, solar and geothermal powered
monument to the future. The outside of the building a sleek combination of recycled redwood and
interlocking solar panels. The inside s high vaulted ceilings and sleek white pillars formed a cavernous
inner space. Three classrooms divided the building into working spaces. The bright L.E.D lighting and
modern fixtures completed the buildings futuristic design. This building was the newest in a long line
of additions to my middle school s campus. Walking through the front door and taking a hard right

Ironically just two years later I owned a pair of my own pet rats in highschool, I know that they are
not the monsters that I was made to believe but smart, clean and loving animals when raised properly.
Unfortunately this kind of fallacy is not uncommon, we all hold beliefs that are wrong but have not
been challenged or confronted before. Carl Sagan, a prominent astrophysicist and professor, touches
on these topics in his essay The dragon in my garage , In this essay he confronts the idea that it s
possible to believe something that to others is obviously false by constructing an imaginary dragon as
an illustration. Though it is well known that dragons are not real, he uses this as a thought experiment
to describe the misplaced beliefs that people can hold. In his example Sagan s dragon cannot be
measured for all intents and purposes besides rare physical manifestations of it s power, yet people
choose to believe it s existence based solely off these small and refutable pieces of evidence. Despite
Sagan s effort to disprove this dragon does all he can to disprove this dragon, by coming up with a
myriad of ways to test its existence yet it is unsuccessful as the dragon is always one step ahead of

Lack Of Justice In Montana 1948 By Larry Watson
Justice is something many people deserve, but it is not always what they get. Throughout the novel
Montana 1948, by Larry Watson, follows a series of events that take place in the summer of 1948, and
is seen through the eyes of a twelve year old boy. In the novel a adolescent boy named David
witnesses his father, Wesley, choose between loyalty or justice. Due to charges made against Wesley s
brother Frank, Wesley had to confront Frank about the charges that were made against him.
Unfortunately, David had to watch as all these problems and secrets unravel which eventually
destroyed Frank. Justice was served to Frank although many people were against the idea of Frank
receiving his punishment. In addition, justice is also served in the story ... Show more content on

The Real Monster In Victor Frankenstein
In Mary Shelley´s Gothic novel, Frankenstein, the Monster once claimed, The fallen angel becomes a
malignant devil. Yet even that enemy of God and man had friends and associates in his desolation; I
am alone. Frankenstein, since the 1910 film adaptation, has known a series of several adaptations that
changed drastically, not only the plot but one of the main characters, the Monster, from stealing its
creator´s name to being portrayed as a cold villain. Though, in the original storyline, the biggest threat
to society is the creator itself, the one pretending to play as God, Victor Frankenstein. This essay will
discuss the nature of the main characters of the novel and conclude who is the real monster in the end.

Frankenstein was a coward that used science selfishly to become a God without taking responsibility
of the retaliation of defying the laws of Nature. The Monster did kill many and became a murderer,
acts that cannot be forgot except that they are the consequence of the negligence of its creator. That is
why ethics are necessary, as people like Victor Frankenstein, in the name of the human civilization, do
terrible and unethical acts. Victor had an obsession, just like the Monster, the first one with building
and the other one with destroying. In the end, the Monster could have been the result of an experiment
that could have to be useful for society in some way, at least, better than an indifferent criminal. Dr.
Victor Frankenstein is the biggest threat to society as he has a negligent attitude, governed by
impulsive attitudes, Frankenstein, in the beginning, tries to be good but the Monster embraced his
darker side, his ambition, and egotism which consumed Victor s entire life, ending up in misery that
involved not only the one playing as God and its creation but everyone around them that had nothing

Advantages Of Top Up Budgeting
QUESTION 1 In developing an annual budget accompanies may choose to adopt either top down
budgeting approach or bottom up budgeting approach. In the finance ministry bottom down budgeting
was a traditional way used in budget formulation. Top down budgeting came in the 1990s as a
motivation to curb the fiscal deficits in which it lead to fiscal crisis in other countries. Top down
budgeting was found that it helps and manages well the fiscal deficit efficiently unlike bottom up
budgeting approach. Countries like Denmark, Korea Sweden, Australia, Netherlands, and Chile etc
actively use top down budgeting because it helps in getting information for the evaluation of new
initiatives and also in reviewing of programs for monitoring purposes. Sweden adopted top down
budgeting approach because of the series of huge fiscal deficits it used to incur and it came to be that
top down budgeting saved them. Top down budgeting is advantageous since it is done multiyear
unlike bottom down budgeting which is annually. Top down Budgeting saves on time since it has
delegated authority to take care of the budgeting process unlike Bottom down approach which is time
consuming. Bottom up approach ignores economic forecast since it involves ministry by ministry
analysis unlike top down approach which focuses on economic forecast as it is bases more in fiscal
analysis. In top down budgeting there is ownership of proposal whereby the ownership is joint unlike
bottom up approach where the ownership proposal is specific. We are able to see that top down
budgeting is more advantageous to use in budgeting approach. Countries like Netherlands, Chile and
Canada have independent bodies for economic forecast. Since Top down budgeting successes is seen

To The Lighthouse Essay
Pause, reflect, and the reader may see at once the opposing yet relative perceptions made between life,
love, marriage and death in Virginia Woolf s To the Lighthouse. In this novel, Woolf seems to capture
perfectly the very essence of life, while conveying life s significance as communicated to the reader in
light tones of consciousness arranged with the play of visual imagery. That is, each character in the
novel plays an intrinsic role in that the individuality of other characters can be seen only through the
former s psyche. Moreover, every aspect of this novel plays a significant role in its creation. For
instance; the saturation of the present by the past, the atmospheres conjoining personalities and
separating them, and the moments ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It was always true. He was incapable of untruth; never tampered with a fact; never altered a
disagreeable word to suit the pleasure or convenience of any mortal being, least of all of his own

juxtaposed with that of an opposing quality which is characterized in Mrs. Ramsay: But then again, it
was the other thing too not being able to tell him the truth, being afraid, for instance, about the
greenhouse roof and the expense it would be... (Woolf 45). To the Lighthouse, then, is really a story of
a struggle between two kinds of truth Mr. Ramsay s and Mrs. Ramsay s. For him, truth seems to be
concrete, factual; for her, truth seems to be one s endeavor toward truth. To further clarify this claim, I
will make reference to a point in the novel in which the reader is able to see just how different Mr. and
Mrs. Ramsay perceive life. It is when they are discussing their son Andrew, and what he might
accomplish in life: Oh scholarships! she said. Mr. Ramsay thought her foolish for saying that, about a
serious thing, like a scholarship. He should be very proud of Andrew if he got a scholarship, he said.
She would be just as proud of him if he didn t, she answered (Woolf 74). The differing
3 approaches of Mr. and Mrs. Ramsay, (whether perceived as right or wrong) present a choice between
the former and the latter; which is indeed a matter of preference; of

The Civil War: Why Did Texas Fight? What do you know about the civil war? The Civil War is very

How Did Jean Jacques Rousseau Influence The British...
Philosopher and novelist Jean Jacques Rousseau has had a significant influence on his belief about
childhood and education from the later eighteenth century until the present. Jean Jacques Rousseau
also influenced the British revolution and during that time inspired William Woodsworth and William
Blake. He was known for going against the common belief of the innocence of children and their
nature and how they should not be subjected to the hardships brought on to them by events beyond
their control. William Woodsworth who was a English Romantic poet had a similar belief on the

equality. He was an influential French writer who believed in a perfect society where
everyone was naturally pure and had inner goodness. Jean Jacques Rousseau stressed
social equality as a presumption of the new proposed democratic system. He developed
socialism and the growth of nationalism. These ideals helped influence the French
revolution and made a change in the use of children for labor.
Jean Jacques Rousseau Wrote Émile , A a poem about the nature of

call switching equipment including Telco switches, Voice over IP gateways, and corporate PBX s; or
in some cases, directly to call centers via an ACD. I recall one day when none of the computers were
working we had to write everything down manually then input the information in as soon as the
network was live once again. This is how I narrowed down which kind of topology that the Lancaster
call center was using. The wiring of the call center is most likely wired with Fiber Optic cables. This
is mainly due to the fact that the call center is located in a downtown area surrounded by many
electrical devices that could cause interference with their network. The bandwidth is extremely high
with heavy use of the network throughout the building so fiber optic cabling would be needed in order
to provide the call center with exactly what is needed to maintain communication.
In conclusion, this paper has given an overview of the network for Starwood Hotels and Resorts
network at their Lancaster, CA location. First, an explanation of the network provided for the training

Descartes Proof Of The Existence Of God
One of the most important ideas upon which Descartes s proof of the existence of God rests is that
rational minds face constraints. While God is the absolute infinite, humans and other beings exist with
limitations on their actions. One of these limitations is human intellect, which Descartes names as one
component of the cause of our tendency toward error as humans. The finite nature of human intellect,
he argues, combines with an infinite will which causes us to seek an understanding of phenomena
beyond our intellectual limitations. This is where humans make errors, according to Descartes.
Although he argues that intellect is constrained in the face of free will, the presentation of intellect as a
static limitation seems to fall short. Rather, it makes more sense to advance the idea of intellect as a
dynamic concept which, although limited, is capable of advancing toward a greater, more accurate
understanding of the mind and world. In his Fourth Meditation, Descartes aims to achieve a distinction
between truth and falsity and, more particularly, what leads to human error and thus results in false
understandings. In doing so, Descartes notes that humans make mistakes which is, of course,
unarguably true. Very briefly, the idea of a demon deceiver God is contemplated, but ruled out due to
the quality of deceiving being an imperfection. This rejection allows for a discussion of how humans
exist relative to a God that embodies the absolute infinite. In this discussion,

Tea Industry in Bangladesh
INTRODUCTION
Bangladesh is a small tea producing country sharing 2% of the world s Tea production. Tea is an agro
based, lab our intensive and export oriented sector and plays an important role in the national
economy through export earnings, trade balancing and employment generation. Our Tea industry dates
back to 1857 when the first tea garden was established at Malnicherra in Sylhet District. Today we
have 163 Tea Gardens with a grant area of 1,15,757.41 hal of which 52,317.21 hal or 45% is under
cultivation. Though our tea industry suffered a serious setback in 1971 but we could succeed in

Tea Plantation in Bangladesh
Bangladesh produces and exports a large quantity of high quality tea. Most of the tea plantations are
situated in the northeastern areas of the country, around Sylhet and Srimongal. Sylhet is situated close
to Bangladesh s border with the Indian states of Meghalaya and Assam. This part of the country is
covered by hillocks rising to moderate heights. The rainfall is higher than average, a fact which British
tea planters realised in the 18th century to the advantage of tea cultivation. These conditions have
provided rich tropical forests with many species of wildlife, scented orange groves and pineapple
plantations. It is also the home of Khashia and Monipuri tribals.
The waterfalls of Madhab Kunda are another very picturesque place to visit. Jafflong, where the river
runs along the border between Bangladesh and India is especially beautiful. On the way there are
number of haors or marshy wetlands, which are natural, depressed swamps holding water almost the
whole year round. They are home to many fish and thousands of local and migratory birds.

From Suffering To Overcoming By John Walsh
From Suffering to Overcoming Imagine taking your young child with you to run errands. You race
into Target and then are delayed as you search for the one item you need. In that one moment, your
child walks off to find the toy section. You begin to search around you and then quickly become
frantic. Your mind takes you places you have always feared. What if someone has taken my baby?
This scene and other similar to it are far too familiar in our world.
An estimated 797,000 children are reported missing in one year, however, only approximately 100 of
them are stereotypical kidnappings (Martindale 6). Many times children that are reported missing have
either run away or cannot be found for a few hours. Only a handful are taken for ransom and against
their own will. The stereotypical kidnapping, which is very rare, involves abduction by a stranger or
slight acquaintance who detains the child overnight, transports him or her at least 50 miles, holds the
child for ransom or intends to keep him permanently, or kills the child (Martindale 6). John Walsh,
host of America s Most Wanted, criminal investigator, and loving father of Adam Walsh has placed his
mark on a world full of corruption and dangerous crimes. After the murder of his son, John Walsh
used this tragic event as a motivation and inspiration to become passionate for the safety of others. He

Factors Of African American Migration Case Study
I agree with the six factors that Anderson used to describe how the migration of African Americans
differed from the migration of other ethnic groups that migrated to America over the course of the
centuries. The six factors that Anderson use to support what made the migration of African Americans
different from the migration of other races includes their involuntary movement to America, their
economic exploitation, their denial of freedom, enslavement due to their racial identities, the countless
rapes of women slaves, and their resilience. The first factor that stood out to me was that African
Americans were the only people to be enslaved simply, because of their racial identity and the need to
exploit them for economic purposes. The fact

Erttttt. As I slammed on brakes in theupcoming chaotic traffic. Maybe I should get off on the next exit

Route 66. As many people think that the Interstate is an easy quick way to get from where they was to
where they need to be at; others may think it is terrible and drains their time so they take other
highways. If you are like some out of many you want something calm and collective; not busy and
chaotic. Many people think that they should go 80 to 90 miles per hour when they should only be
going 70 miles per hour or lower which to me seems like it would reduce many of the outraging
wrecks we have today. There has been an astounding 50,765 wrecks and counting that has happened

The Diffusion Of The Italian Identity
Italian Fascism is an authoritarian and nationalistic system of government and social organization, it
was the political result of the relationship between socialist and nationalist rhetoric. It is a form of
governance which employs intolerant views and practices, advocating traditionalism, interventionism
and sameness rather than individualism. In order to promote their totalitarian ideals during the 1930s
to 1945 fascist politicians such as Benito Mussolini, who had previously been a socialist newspaper
editor, employed propaganda that included virtually all modes of media: the press, posters and film.
The widespread dissemination of totalitarian ideals infiltrated into the school system where young
Italians born from 1910 to 1935 were taught to obey and fight. The purpose of this paper is to analyse
the diffusion of the Italian Identity through fascist propaganda from 1922 1943 and the identity that
was diffused as a result of the exploitation of Mussolini s various propaganda mediums. Did fascist
propaganda contribute to the diffusion of an Italian identity? If so, what identity was diffused? The
etymology of fascism is denotative of power and dominance. For example, the term derived from the
Roman fasces which were bundles of rods bound to each other, carried in advance of Roman
magistrates. The rods were symbolic of power to punish through severe beating and the axes which
extended from the center were symbolic of punishment by death (Grolier Education p.110).

penalties. To make matters worse, the industry was facing pressure from increasing retailer purchasing
power, major changes in consumer tastes and preferences, and Europe s imposition of an onerous tariff
on companies that sourced bananas from Latin America. With this in mind, Fernando Aguirre,
Chiquita s CEO since 2004, reflected on how the company had arrived at this point, and what had
been done to correct the course so far. He faced major challenges to the company s competitive
position in this dynamic industry. What would it take to position the company on a more positive
competitive trajectory? Would this even be possible in this industry and in the business climate
Chiquita faced?
Learning Objective
The case provides a vehicle for analyzing strategic, contextual, and ethical challenges underlying
Chiquita s presence in Colombia, a primary global source for bananas. The case highlights the trade
offs that Chiquita made while paying protection money to ensure business continuity and employee
protection. Historic information tracks the evolution of the company from its early focus on owning
plantations; growing, importing, and distributing bananas; sourcing, marketing, and distribution, to
downstream value chain activities that were more

The Fight Organized Crime Regime
Since the beginning of the 21st century, organized crime has grown in complexity. With this new era,
law enforcement has been made to change and improve the ways in which they try and fight organized
crime. With the use of technology, the new organized crime regime have used technology to its
advantage and are seen as a very real threat to US law enforcement.
Most members of law enforcement, anti mafia NGOs and academic and journalistic analysts insist
upon the fact that from the mid 1990 s on up, the anti mafia fight dramatically slowed down and
weakened.(Paoli) The consequence of recent law enforcement accomplishments is that Italian mafia
organizations, and particularly Cosa Nostra, are experiencing their most serious crisis since the ...

Due to increase police enforcement, some mafia families are now bankrupt. There has also been a
sizeable increase in mafia members become state s witnesses. This is due to the implementation of
legislation allowing them sanctioning and penitentiary benefits and establishing a state protection
program in 1991. (Paoli) Since many of the most influential criminal families has left, there are open
spaces for an assortment of middle sized and small crime groups that often fight each other for control
of the local territory. The achievements of law enforcement over the past ten years have been
accomplished within a stable legislative and institutional policy framework.
The DIA mission is to ensure the implementation, in a coordinated manner, of intelligence activities
targeting organized crime and to conduct investigations exclusively concerning mafia or mafia related
offences . (Paoli)
The second major legislative innovation of the early 1990s was a true emergency measure, which was
a bill that was finally converted into law in August 1992. The passing of this bill, gave the DIA and
judiciary police added responsibilities that enabled them to search, question and wiretap suspected
criminal activity; introduced new offences for anti mafia trials, and documented as judicial evidence
testimonies achieved by the prosecutor s office during the initial inquiries, even if

This type of growth is important as it helps the child grow and provides a purpose for the child.
Another benefit is that this toy will encourage solitary and active play, types of social patterns and
play, which is vital for child s development. This toy supports skill development through maturation as
children will learn how to play with this toy as they mature cognitively. According to Piaget s idea of
schemas which are created by assimilation and accommodation, the schema for the child in the
preoperational stage will be that they will think that two different shapes of the same colour would
both fit into the same cut out hole in the box, when in fact, they will not. The child then goes through
assimilation, where they will adjust their existing schema and understand that an object can be
classified by more than one feature. The state of the schema is then changed from disequilibrium to
equilibrium. Therefore, this toy is developmentally appropriate to children in the preoperational stage
as it will encourage the child to overcome an issue they face in their age period. PART C:

Human Diversity By Flai Lama Summary
In Ethics and New Genetics by The Dalai Lama, the author propose the need for a secular principle
based on human values to combat with the rapid emergence of biotechnology. He suggest that humans
posses a basic innate quality that serves as guidance towards responsibility and morality called moral
compass. He explores human values with an altruistic outlook from his personal accounts with the
assistance of faith/religion. Similarly, in Human Dignity by Francis Fukuyama, the author searches for
this commonality of being human through the the investigation of Factor X. Fukuyama explains,
Factor X as a collective variable of choice, rationality, language, sentience and consciousness that is
specific of human nature. Fukuyama uses studies from scientists, philosophers, educators on evolution
and its tie with the modern century to reach the conclusion that human nature must be preserved. The
authors balances the other s idea, because they are both searching for the foundation of humanity to
serve as a unifying force when science is posing division economically and genetically. The disparities
that Fukuyama and The Dalai Lama suggest are divisions based on the scale of socioeconomics,
limitations on diversity, and disruption of the complexity of humans evolved state that undermine the
basic moral sensibilities. The authors claims that the qualities found in human nature such as Factor X
or moral compass provide a sense of equality due to chance, while eugenics

Juan Peron Research Paper
Exile: when one is sent away from their native country for political reasons. Many cruel dictators were
sent to exile after what they did to their country and Juan Perón is one of them. Perón helped with a
successful military coup that put him into power in the first place. Despite being anti communist and
fascist, he had the support of the Nazi troops. He supported the working class, even though he
supported labor of the poorer classes. Juan Perón was a dictator who held a successful military coup,
was sexually involved with other woman, and threatened to separate church and state. Juan Perón was
the dictator of Argentina from 1946 to 1955. He came into power by helping with a coup d état to over
throw the previous president. He was known for being sexually involved with younger woman in the
country after the death of his former wife. This may have occurred because of how his wife also had
an affair with Perón s advisor, and her bodyguard. Perón was also known for his wife, Eva Perón, who
was an actor who was well known in Argentina. The Peróns wanted to have Eva be viewed as a saint

Tennessee Williams And The Glass Menagerie
Tennessee Williams was an American author generally regarded one of the best playwrights eve to
come out of the United States. Between the 1940s and the 1960s, he was one of the most prolific
playwrights penning several award winning plays the most popular of which was The Glass
Menagerie. His work is known for its dramatic flair, poetic language, heartbreaking themes, and gritty
characters that have made them timeless American classics. Tennessee was born Thomas Lanier
Williams III in March 1911 in Columbus, Mississippi to straight laced minister s daughter Edwina
Dakin Williams and a traveling salesman Cornelius Coffin Williams. In 1918, the family moved to
Louis, Missouri where Cornelius has found a job as the manager of the international Shoe Company in

Big Ass Spider Movie Analysis
Big Ass Spider! is one of the films that as soon as you look at the cover you know exactly what you re
in for. It feels like a call back to the 1950 s giant monster films like King Kong, The Beast from
20,000 Fathoms and Them!. Them! being the earliest of the giant insect films. Big Ass Spider! is big,
bold and apologetically a B Movie. Not that this film doesn t have flaws, because it does. But like
other B Films, I have a really hard time hating on it and before it s thrown out there. I know that this
film isn t technically a horror film, B.A.S. is an Action/Comedy/Sci Fi. But don t tell that to Netflix,
which claims it as B Horror.

Not the actor mind you, Lombardo Boyar is fun, engaging and is without question delivers the one of
the best performances in the film. My issue lies in the fact that his character is a terrible racial

meant to be .
Something that B.A.S. did really well was its use of cameos and I love cameos. B.A.S. manages to slip
in Lin Shaye and Ruben Pla from Insidious. It also has a Llyod Kaufman as a jogger and any film that
features Llyod Kaufman in it has to be doing something right. I also wanna talk about Ray Wise that
while not a cameo, plays a relatively small role. The main reason I want to bring him up is he s
constantly showing up in films I watch, and I don t even follow his career... well intentionally at least.

Charlie Chaplin s Commentary On Society In The Film City...
City Lights In the 1931 film City Lights , Charlie Chaplin opens our eyes , so to speak, about how
society values trivial elements of people over the deeper person by using blindness. In this film,
Chaplin brilliantly mixes lighthearted comedy with deep and complex ideas about problems with
society. Chaplin uses music, gags, and a genuine love connection to portray this point in multiple ways
throughout the movie. Chaplin also took the bold step of not making a talking movie, even though
they were available at the time, making the details in the pictures and sounds he was creating that
much more important. What makes City Lights so special, and different from other comedies, is
Chaplin s natural blend of comedic scenes with tense and serious scenes. Chaplin weaved together a
masterpiece that culminates in the end with the lady seeing who she fell in love with, which is also the
moment Chaplin slaps the viewer in the face with the realization that the priorities in society are
misguided and that the important things cannot be seen with the eye.
To see Chaplin s commentary on society, one must first look at how he uses sound to spread his
message. Right from the first scene, Chaplin infuses his views on society with sound as he plays the
kazoo to represent the high class men speaking when they are unveiling a new statue. During this
speech, the view can see the tramp (Charlie Chaplin) behind them sleeping on top of the statue. With
this scene, Chaplin is saying

modern classic products the line offers. Blanc Eclare now offers many products such as cosmetics,

New York City Vs. Los Angeles
New York City vs. Los Angeles: East Coast to West Coast
For Christmas and my sixteenth birthday present my parents planned a trip for me to go to New York
City with my dad. Two days after Christmas me and my dad hopped on the plane and headed for New
Jersey and New York City. I was very excited because I had been to New Jersey but I never visited
New York City before. I also remember being excited because of that fact that I would actually get to
see snow in the winter since it rarely ever snowed in Houston during the winter. Then that next year
during my junior year in High School, I had the opportunity to go on a trip to Los Angeles with my
drill team. I was very excited to get to go to both of these huge awesome cities in that two year period.
Both of these cities were unique in their own way. So what makes a city similar to another city and
what makes a city different to another city? The people, the weather, the vibe, the monuments and
popular attractions are all some of the components of what makes a city unlike any other city. My two
favorite cities besides Houston are New York and Los Angeles. I have visited both and like them both
equally for different reasons. While New York and Los Angeles definitely have their similarities, they
also have many differences that set them apart from each other.
In New York they experience all four seasons. The leaves change colors in the fall, it snows in the
winter, the grass gets greener because it rains a lot in the spring, and

Pierre Simon Laplace s Theory Of Determinism
Pierre Simon Laplace was a famous scientist born on March 23, 1749, in Normandy, France. He went
through schooling and later enrolled at Caen University at the age of sixteen to study theology. His
father had an expectation for him to have a career in the church, in those times when people attended
the school Laplace attended, their usual job destinations were the church or army. Laplace went into
neither of those, even those he was studying theology. While at the school he discovered his love for
mathematics and discovered he had a talent in that field. Laplace made numerous contributions
through his work. Besides his work on mathematical astronomy, he also studied planetary orbits.
Laplace is famous for his discovery of what is famously known as Laplace s Demon, which is not an
actual demon. Laplace s Demon was first known as Laplace s Intellect. His thought experiment was
first discovered by him in 1814, which made it the first published work of determinism. Laplace s
Demon, is basically the idea of determinism. His other works, although should still not go unnoticed,
he had a great influence on the progress of the mathematical theory of mechanics, also the Laplace
Operator in potential theory, and the Laplace Transform in the study of differential equations. Laplace
believed that with his discovery, you could measure an atoms velocity and location. Basically, what it
means for his experiment is that if you can calculate those things, you can predict all future

While the author is not identified by name he does identify himself as the preacher, the son of David, king in Jerusalem (1:1); I the Preacher was king over Israel in Jerusalem. (1:12) It is a widely held belief that Solomon wrote Ecclesiastes as well as other wisdom literature in the bible. Scholars assume it was written during the reign of King Solomon a little before Solomons death from 970 935 BC. During his escape a great storm came upon the boat that he was on. So the crew cast him into the sea where the lord had prepared a great fish to swallow up Jonah. And Jonah was in the belly of the fish three days and three nights. In Matthew 12:40 Jesus refrences this as Jonah being in a whales belly for three days. While in the belly of the fish Jonah prayed to God to let him out. the Lord spoke unto the fish, and it vomited out Jonah upon the dry land .(Jon 2:10) Jonah then went to Ninevah and cried, and said, Yet forty days, and Nineveh shall be overthrown. Three classrooms divided the building into working spaces. The bright L.E.D lighting and modern fixtures completed the buildings futuristic design. Ironically just two years later I owned a pair of my own pet rats in highschool, I know that they are not the monsters that I was made to believe but smart, clean and loving animals when raised properly. Unfortunately this kind of fallacy is not uncommon, we all hold beliefs that are wrong but have not been challenged or confronted before. Carl Sagan, a prominent astrophysicist and professor, touches on these topics in his essay The dragon in my garage , In this essay he confronts the idea that it s possible to believe something that to others is obviously false by constructing an imaginary dragon as an illustration. Though it is well known that dragons are not real, he uses this as a thought experiment to describe the misplaced beliefs that people can hold. In his example Sagan s dragon cannot be measured for all intents and purposes besides rare physical manifestations of it s power, yet people choose to believe it s existence based solely off these small and refutable pieces of evidence. Despite Sagan s effort to disprove this dragon does all he can to disprove this dragon, by coming up with a myriad of ways to test its existence yet it is unsuccessful as the dragon is always one step ahead of ... The Monster did kill many and became a murderer, acts that cannot be forgot except that they are the consequence of the negligence of its creator. That is why ethics are necessary, as people like Victor Frankenstein, in the name of the human civilization, do terrible and unethical acts. Victor had an obsession, just like the Monster, the first one with building and the other one with destroying. In the end, the Monster could have been the result of an experiment that could have to be useful for society in some way, at least, better than an indifferent criminal. Dr. Victor Frankenstein is the biggest threat to society as he has a negligent attitude, governed by impulsive attitudes, Frankenstein, in the beginning, tries to be good but the Monster embraced his darker side, his ambition, and egotism which consumed Victor s entire life, ending up in misery that involved not only the one playing as God and its creation but everyone around them that had nothing to do with ... • 6. Advantages Of Top Up Budgeting QUESTION 1 In developing an annual budget accompanies may choose to adopt either top down budgeting approach or bottom up budgeting approach. In the finance ministry bottom down budgeting was a traditional way used in budget formulation. Top down budgeting came in the 1990s as a motivation to curb the fiscal deficits in which it lead to fiscal crisis in other countries. Top down budgeting was found that it helps and manages well the fiscal deficit efficiently unlike bottom up budgeting approach. Countries like Denmark, Korea Sweden, Australia, Netherlands, and Chile etc actively use top down budgeting because it helps in getting information for the evaluation of new initiatives and also in reviewing of programs for monitoring purposes. Sweden adopted top down budgeting approach because of the series of huge fiscal deficits it used to incur and it came to be that top down budgeting saved them. Top down budgeting is advantageous since it is done multiyear unlike bottom down budgeting which is annually. Top down Budgeting saves on time since it has delegated authority to take care of the budgeting process unlike Bottom down approach which is time consuming. Bottom up approach ignores economic forecast since it involves ministry by ministry analysis unlike top down approach which focuses on economic forecast as it is bases more in fiscal analysis. In top down budgeting there is ownership of proposal whereby the ownership is joint unlike bottom up approach where the ownership proposal is specific. We are able to see that top down budgeting is more advantageous to use in budgeting approach. Countries like Netherlands, Chile and Canada have independent bodies for economic forecast. In this novel, Woolf seems to capture perfectly the very essence of life, while conveying life s significance as communicated to the reader in light tones of consciousness arranged with the play of visual imagery. That is, each character in the novel plays an intrinsic role in that the individuality of other characters can be seen only through the former s psyche. For him, truth seems to be concrete, factual; for her, truth seems to be one s endeavor toward truth. To further clarify this claim, I will make reference to a point in the novel in which the reader is able to see just how different Mr. and Mrs. Ramsay perceive life. It is when they are discussing their son Andrew, and what he might accomplish in life: Oh scholarships! she said. Mr. Ramsay thought her foolish for saying that, about a serious thing, like a scholarship. He should be very proud of Andrew if he got a scholarship, he said. She would be just as proud of him if he didn t, she answered (Woolf 74). • 13. Descartes Proof Of The Existence Of God One of the most important ideas upon which Descartes s proof of the existence of God rests is that rational minds face constraints. While God is the absolute infinite, humans and other beings exist with limitations on their actions. One of these limitations is human intellect, which Descartes names as one component of the cause of our tendency toward error as humans. The finite nature of human intellect, he argues, combines with an infinite will which causes us to seek an understanding of phenomena beyond our intellectual limitations. This is where humans make errors, according to Descartes. Although he argues that intellect is constrained in the face of free will, the presentation of intellect as a static limitation seems to fall short. Rather, it makes more sense to advance the idea of intellect as a dynamic concept which, although limited, is capable of advancing toward a greater, more accurate understanding of the mind and world. In his Fourth Meditation, Descartes aims to achieve a distinction between truth and falsity and, more particularly, what leads to human error and thus results in false understandings. In doing so, Descartes notes that humans make mistakes which is, of course, unarguably true. Very briefly, the idea of a demon deceiver God is contemplated, but ruled out due to the quality of deceiving being an imperfection. This rejection allows for a discussion of how humans exist relative to a God that embodies the absolute infinite. In this discussion, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

You race into Target and then are delayed as you search for the one item you need. In that one moment, your child walks off to find the toy section. You begin to search around you and then quickly become frantic. Your mind takes you places you have always feared. What if someone has taken my baby? This scene and other similar to it are far too familiar in our world. An estimated 797,000 children are reported missing in one year, however, only approximately 100 of them are stereotypical kidnappings (Martindale 6). Many times children that are reported missing have either run away or cannot be found for a few hours. Only a handful are taken for ransom and against their own will. The stereotypical kidnapping, which is very rare, involves abduction by a stranger or slight acquaintance who detains the child overnight, transports him or her at least 50 miles, holds the child for ransom or intends to keep him permanently, or kills the child (Martindale 6). John Walsh, host of America s Most Wanted, criminal investigator, and loving father of Adam Walsh has placed his mark on a world full of corruption and dangerous crimes. • 20. The Diffusion Of The Italian Identity Italian Fascism is an authoritarian and nationalistic system of government and social organization, it was the political result of the relationship between socialist and nationalist rhetoric. It is a form of governance which employs intolerant views and practices, advocating traditionalism, interventionism and sameness rather than individualism. In order to promote their totalitarian ideals during the 1930s to 1945 fascist politicians such as Benito Mussolini, who had previously been a socialist newspaper editor, employed propaganda that included virtually all modes of media: the press, posters and film. The widespread dissemination of totalitarian ideals infiltrated into the school system where young Italians born from 1910 to 1935 were taught to obey and fight. The purpose of this paper is to analyse the diffusion of the Italian Identity through fascist propaganda from 1922 1943 and the identity that was diffused as a result of the exploitation of Mussolini s various propaganda mediums. Did fascist propaganda contribute to the diffusion of an Italian identity? If so, what identity was diffused? The etymology of fascism is denotative of power and dominance. For example, the term derived from the Roman fasces which were bundles of rods bound to each other, carried in advance of Roman magistrates. The rods were symbolic of power to punish through severe beating and the axes which extended from the center were symbolic of punishment by death (Grolier Education p.110). ... Over the past 25 years, no place has been more perilous for companies than Colombia, a country that is finally beginning to emerge from the effects its Colombian banana subsidiaries had made protection payments to terrorist groups from 1997 through 2004. The Justice Department began an investigation, focusing on the role and conduct of Chiquita and some of its officers in this criminal activity. Subsequently, Chiquita entered into a plea agreement that gave them the dubious distinction of being the first major U.S. company ever convicted of dealing with terrorists, and resulted in a fine of US$25 ... To make matters worse, the industry was facing pressure from increasing retailer purchasing power, major changes in consumer tastes and preferences, and Europe s imposition of an onerous tariff on companies that sourced bananas from Latin America. With this in mind, Fernando Aguirre, Chiquita s CEO since 2004, reflected on how the company had arrived at this point, and what had been done to correct the course so far. He faced major challenges to the company s competitive position in this dynamic industry. What would it take to position the company on a more positive competitive trajectory? Would this even be possible in this industry and in the business climate Chiquita faced? Learning Objective The case provides a vehicle for analyzing strategic, contextual, and ethical challenges underlying Chiquita s presence in Colombia, a primary global source for bananas. The case highlights the trade offs that Chiquita made while paying protection money to ensure business continuity and employee protection. Another benefit is that this toy will encourage solitary and active play, types of social patterns and play, which is vital for child s development. This toy supports skill development through maturation as children will learn how to play with this toy as they mature cognitively. According to Piaget s idea of schemas which are created by assimilation and accommodation, the schema for the child in the preoperational stage will be that they will think that two different shapes of the same colour would both fit into the same cut out hole in the box, when in fact, they will not. The child then goes through assimilation, where they will adjust their existing schema and understand that an object can be classified by more than one feature. The state of the schema is then changed from disequilibrium to equilibrium. • 30. Charlie Chaplin s Commentary On Society In The Film City... City Lights In the 1931 film City Lights , Charlie Chaplin opens our eyes , so to speak, about how society values trivial elements of people over the deeper person by using blindness. In this film, Chaplin brilliantly mixes lighthearted comedy with deep and complex ideas about problems with society. Chaplin uses music, gags, and a genuine love connection to portray this point in multiple ways throughout the movie. Chaplin also took the bold step of not making a talking movie, even though they were available at the time, making the details in the pictures and sounds he was creating that much more important. What makes City Lights so special, and different from other comedies, is Chaplin s natural blend of comedic scenes with tense and serious scenes. Chaplin weaved together a masterpiece that culminates in the end with the lady seeing who she fell in love with, which is also the moment Chaplin slaps the viewer in the face with the realization that the priorities in society are misguided and that the important things cannot be seen with the eye. To see Chaplin s commentary on society, one must first look at how he uses sound to spread his message. Right from the first scene, Chaplin infuses his views on society with sound as he plays the kazoo to represent the high class men speaking when they are unveiling a new statue. During this speech, the view can see the tramp (Charlie Chaplin) behind them sleeping on top of the statue. With this scene, Chaplin is saying ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
