training was dying a rapid death in many organizations, not out of any il l will but primaily
out of economic necessi ty and direct ives to minimize an employees’ time of f the job. With that in mind, education coordinators have been seeking new ways to deliver “just in time” education solutions that will help workers solve problems, learn new skills, prepare for examinations and receive support services on-demand. Data-driven learning is the key factor in optimizing learning and training programs for learner success. By gaining a more holistic view of how learners engage in their online programs, organizations can get a better picture of how effective their learning programs really are. Armed with this information, measurable improvements can be made across learning and training initiatives. Your organization can achieve a deeper understanding of the usage, effectiveness, and success of their programs, and how they directly impact learning performance.
Join our learning analytics expert, Stewart Rogers, to discover 5 steps for building a data-driven learning model to improve learning performance.
This presentation will demonstrate:
- How to make analytics part of the fabric of daily operations
- Access robust reporting and analytics solutions
- Establish shared goals throughout your department hierarchy
- Ensure continuous training and coaching of core analytics skills
- Track the right metrics and make data-driven decisions
Aalto Entrepreneurship Society was established in 2009 by a group of students in Helsinki. The problem we want to solve is that the best students don't thrive to be entrepreneurs. We are creating an eco-system in the new Aalto University and Finland that will create successful companies.

Making Learning Accessible – Solving A Complex PuzzleLearningCafe
Our workforce is becoming more diverse with employees facing different kinds of barriers to Learning. These barriers to Learning include not only physical ones such as vision, hearing and motor disabilities but also cognitive disabilities and literacy. The combinations and variations may be too numerous to cater for using the “one size fits all” design approach.
Under the Disability Discrimination Act 1992, Australian Government agencies are required to ensure information and services are provided in a non-discriminatory accessible manner by implementing the Web content accessibility guidelines version 2.0 (WCAG 2.0). Private sector is also choosing to address accessibility requirements as part of social corporate responsibility.
The challenge for Learning professionals is to designing accessible Learning including:
a more technically challenging design and development approach.requiring a bigger budget.
This is a presentation I have used with teachers in my school district. I begin my presentation by introducing Thinkquest and, depending on the workshop, lead into instruction on project-based learning.
Practical tips and strategies for addressing the challenges posed by the Government supported FELTAG recommendation “the inclusion in every publicly-funded learning programme from 2015/16 of a 10% wholly-online component, with incentives to increase this to 50% by 2017/2018.”
This webinar looked at some free tools that providers can use to support learners in the workplace.
These tools were for:
sharing resources with learners
communicating with learners
encouraging collaboration
assessment and tracking
supporting a blended approach to learning
and included overviews of Edmodo, Course Sites, Canvas, Livebinders, Wordpress.
Aimed especially at Work based learning providers that may not have access to a learning platform such as Moodle

The BUFVC supports education by delivering unique services and advice to promote the production, study and use of moving image and sound across all subject areas in post-compulsory education.
This presentation was part of a session that looked at BUFVC resources - how they can help you find, access and use audiovisual resources in teaching and learning, including resources that are open to all FE/HE institutions and some that are entirely free of charge.

This session will raise awareness of what inspectors will be looking for in regard to effective use of technology.Delegates will gain a greater understanding of: Where technology fits within the Common Inspection Framework (CIF) in England;Questions inspectors might ask;Effective use of Virtual Learning Environments (VLEs) to support teaching learning and assessment;Use of social media, mobile technologies in teaching and learning;Examples of good practice.
This session was a demonstration of how Moulton College has embedded QR codes into the curriculum to enable learners quick access to relevant electronic resources followed by an interactive workshop on how to get started with QR codes.
This session was suitable for managers, ILT Champions, lecturers, teachers, learning support staff and anyone else wanting to find out more about QR codes.
Strategy is what ties the vision to results. This session will focus on strategies and considerations when moving to an electronic process for accepting requests from the public. Often times government organizations cannot mandate the use of externally facing systems yet in order to leverage the investment made in the system, citizens must adopt a new process for engaging with agencies.
The City of Los Angeles launched an outreach program in 2009 to shift a document based submission from a mail, fax, and in-box bound process to an electronic data focused submission process and has reached an 87% self service rate. As a case study example, we will walk through an overview of the program as well as some of the key lessons learned.

THINGS TO CONSIDER:
Software needs to be trained – as do staff/users - to get familiar with language,
terms, dialect etc
You’ll need a top quality microphone/headset and a quiet environment when
making recordings
You will need to proof read any documents produced
Recording details of workplace learning
– Lots of talk about Guided Learning Hours but how do you record the actual
– learning that takes place in the workplace?
Learner Loan Schemes
– Do you loan out equipment (laptops, tablets) to learners?
– Do you charge learners? What agreements do you have in place?
