1) A collaborative preservation learning programme was developed in the UK to address the identified preservation needs of research libraries and higher education libraries. 2) Focus groups and surveys with librarians, archivists, and conservators were conducted to determine the key staff development needs, which included practical training, strategic development, and developing an institutional culture of preservation. 3) The programme addressed these needs by providing disaster response training, preservation policy workshops, and training on prioritization, digitization, and damaged collections in various regions across the UK from 2009-2010.
