The Death Of A Mint Oil
The queue grew thinner until Morgana reached the counter and purchased her mint oil. Although she
could feel the familiar warmth of magic reviving itself in her body, and had been able to re light
candles in her room last night by concentrating on them, her powers were nowhere near their peak.
Again: was it simply due to the injuries sustained in King Lothar s tomb? This sabbatical couldn t
stretch on forever. Still, she had to admit that over the last three weeks, Lydil had grown on her.
Despite the injuries, clean air, a proper bed and wholesome food had begun their good work, if ever so
slowly. Remembering to keep her head down, she passed both merchants, wondering how they might
react if they realized the mad woman had been ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
She had often seen Princess Mithian, completely immersed in her own world, knowing that
manipulating her would be child s play. Out of all the plans she had hatched in order to secure
Camelot s Throne, this should have ranked as the most successful. Odin needed no persuasion to
invade Nemeth, particularly when she advised him of the gold, silver, jewellery and fine cloth to be
found in abundance indeed, he had almost wept for joy! Out of all Odin s failings, she preferred his
greed to his cowardice. Who had melded him into this trembling specimen of subservience? Another
one of Arthur s misty eyed speeches on peace, unity and working together for the common good?
Well, men had been bought for far less. Rare fine wines, judging from the conversation she had just
heard. Still... as much as she might scoff at Odin, Camelot gained much from it. Other kingdoms still
disputing land and titles with Camelot would be encouraged by it and possibly reach further
agreements. After all, Nemeth had still abided by the terms Arthur set forward, even after he rejected
Mithian s hand in marriage. Without money or access to an army, what chance would there be in
future to attack? No use fretting about the future when trying to recover right now. One step at a time.
Remaining in Lydil had been an excellent idea and once her magic returned... Yes; everything would
turn in her favour. In this

Strategy Development at Castle Press
Andy Bailey and Julie Verity
The two cases, New Town Council and Castle Press, illustrate the process of strategy development
within different organisational contexts. Both cases are based on the views of the strategy
development process as seen by members of the respective top management teams. The Castle Press
case describes how five members of the top management team view the process. Both cases are con
‐
structed around two general themes. The process of strategy development and the organisational
context in which it takes place.
The two cases illustrate differences in the strategy development process, demonstrating that the pro

Only two years before, however, the team was much bigger:
Two years ago, inherited a TMT of twelve people. It was impossible to discuss strategy with that
number of people. Six months later, three key people and myself retreated for a few days and thought
about what we needed rather than what we had. The outcome was implemented about eighteen months
ago. We now have a TMT of six people and the focus of our meetings is higher level discussions and
strategic planning.
MANAGING DIRECTOR
As a group, the TMT thought that they were compatible and rarely in conflict with each other. The
collective criticism of team meetings was the danger that discussions gravitated towards the
operational rather than the strategic, since this was the one time that team members found themselves
together in one place at one time. The finance director (only two years with Castle Press) noted that he
could bring a different contribution to the team s discussion:
I think we were very internally focused. It is easier when you come from outside the organisation and
from this position I can be constructive. I m the only person on the Team who hasn t been with Castle
Press for the past twenty years, so I do have some useful external benchmarks. FINANCE

Chapter 1 Finding Your Inner Fish 1. Explain why the author and his colleagues chose to focus on 375
million year old rocks in their search for fossils. Be sure to include the types of rocks and their
location during their paleontology work in 2004. The author and his colleagues specifically chose to
focus on 375 million year old rocks in their search for fossils because this was the time frame that
provided fish that would be useful to study from. The 385 million year old rocks provided fish that
look too similar to the ones we have now and the 365 million year old rocks have fossils that don t
resemble fish. The 375 million year old rocks, however, provide fossils that show the transition
between fish and land living animals. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Describe at least one of these experiments and explain the significance of the findings. In one of the
experiments, Mary Gasseling took a little patch of tissue, early in development, from what would be
the pinky side of a limb bud. She took that tissue and put it on the opposite side right beneath where
the first finger would form. The chick would develop and form a wing; the new fingers were also
copies of the normal set. Basically, the tissue (more specifically some molecule or gene inside the
tissue) was able to direct the development of the pattern of the fingers. This led to further experiments
that defined the ZPA, or the zone of polarizing activity. This patch of tissue is able to determine the
difference between the pinky side and the thumb side. 2. Describe the hedgehog gene using several
animal examples. Be sure to explain its function and its region of activity in the body. Hedgehog is a
gene active in ZPA. ZPA is only located in little clusters and with this hedgehog gene, it creates a
mirror image in limbs for the development and growth. The gene creates digits that are clearly
different from one another depending on how close they are to the ZPA. The chicken version of the
hedgehog gene was named Sonic hedgehog and it activates once Vitamin A is injected. All creatures
have the Sonic hedgehog and they all can be activated by injecting Vitamin A. When tested on a skate,
the Sonic hedgehog turned on at the same time as a

Negotiations in India
Introduction
The Negotiable Instruments Act was enacted, in India, in 1881. Prior to its enactment, the provision of
the English Negotiable Instrument Act were applicable in India, and the present Act is also based on
the English Act with certain modifications. It extends to the whole of India except the State of Jammu
and Kashmir. The Act operates subject to the provisions of Sections 31 and 32 of the Reserve Bank of
India Act, 1934. Section 31 of the Reserve Bank of India Act provides that no person in India other
than the Bank or as expressly authorised by this Act, the Central Government shall draw, accept, make
or issue any bill of exchange, hundi, promissory note or engagement for the payment of money
payable to bearer on demand. This Section further provides that no one except the RBI or the Central
Government can make or issue a promissory note expressed to be payable or demand or after a certain
time. Section 32 of the Reserve Bank of India Act makes issue of such bills or notes punishable with
fine which may extend to the amount of the instrument. The effect or the consequences of these
provisions are:
1. A promissory note cannot be made payable to the bearer, no matter whether it is payable on demand
or after a certain time.

Deck The Halls Analysis
Everyone loves the advent of December because it means holiday season, considered to be the best
time of the year for most people. All of the decorations, food, experiences with friends and family, and
especially all of the songs make the time of year different from all the others. One of the well known
Christmas songs since it was written in 1862 by a Welsh composer named Thomas Oliphant is Deck
the Halls . Many variations were created by all different people, Alex G and Tiffany Alvord s version
of Deck the Halls was created in 2014 by a recent duet signed by many record labels such as Tate
Music Group and Mud Hut. Although Oliphant s version and Alex G and Tiffany Alvord s cover
version share the same lyrics, they both vary in their tone and instruments used; therefore, due to the
uplifting nature and happy mood evoked, the [best song to listen to this holiday season is the cover
version of Deck the Halls ].
Although the lyrics are similar in both the original and cover nevertheless, the ... Show more content

Due to the fact the original version has a lot calmer tone and more serene, the song does not have
harsh, loud sounding instruments. This version mainly contains a very subtle trumpet and violin
besides when the sounds increases in between verses. However, the exciting and very happy vibe that
comes from the cover, reflects on the instrumental use. The song has a steady, dominant bass guitar
strum, with bells and an electric piano also helping to maintain a consistent beat. Before the lines Fast
away the old year passes, Fa la la la la la la la! Hail the new, ye lads and lasses, Fa la la la la la la la! in
the original maintains the subtle violin and trumpet wherein the cover, the melody gets louder with
more dominance in all of the instruments, twinkling of bells and more harmonizing done by the

Themes In To Kill A Mocking Bird And The Breakfast Club
The definition of belonging is shaped by various factors. Personal, Cultural, historical and social
influences can determine in which way the theme is related to. It is labelled as an issue being
associated with the depression as well as today. The two text types that I have analysed to further
explore belonging is the novel To Kill A Mocking Bird and the film The Breakfast Club as well as the
themes apparent in both of these Prejudice, cultural bias and stereotypes. The novel To Kill A
Mocking Bird is primarily based on the problems associated with prejudice and cultural bias during
the 30 s. That these themes are explored by Harper Lee it allows for a greater approach to balancing
belonging and most of all not belonging. In Chapter 20 of the novel Atticus states There s something
in our world that makes men lose their heads, they couldn t be fair if they tried it s a white mans world
against a black man s, a white man always wins now this quote is directed at Jem. A 10 year old girl
caught in the prime generation for cultural bias and discrimination. The inclusion of this statement is
the utilisation of metaphor to reflect the strong presence of inequality and racism. It is as
straightforward to the reader, as it is in the text. This technique establishes the two perspectives within
the town. Jem s prejudice outlook is a good reference to how people will go along with what they are
educated on rather than what they see, as it s easier to belong than to not. It clearly

The Fender Sratocaster Research Paper
The Fender Stratocaster The Fender Stratocaster is one of the most well known electric guitars around.
It is often used in a variety of genres of music from Blues to Rock music. It has become an essential
piece of equipment for players all around the world. Since the day of its birth in 1954, it continues to
impress everyone who plays one to this day. The versatility has to be one of the most unique factors of
the Fender Strat, there is nothing you cannot customize on this guitar to make it your own unique axe
of sound. Opening with the build of the guitar, its shape is rather distinctive, consisting of a glossy
polyester urethane finish in jet black. The contours on the body make it a player s delight considering
the belly cut on the back ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Fender Stratocaster has always consisted of a three pick up system to give the guitar a range of
sounds that you do not generally get from other guitars. Pick ups are electro magnets that have six
pole magnets with two plastic pieces fit on each end to hold them together. A thin copper wire is then
spun around all six magnets for an average of seven thousand times. The more spins a pick up
contains, the more output it holds, giving the player more response when the strings are stricken. The
pick ups are white with the magnets staggered and poking through the pick up cover. Each one is a
single coil magnet placed into the pickguard in a certain place or angle. Wherever the pick up is
positioned, will determine the sound it makes. The neck single coil, being closest to the neck of the
guitar, has more bass in its sound due to it being closer to the center point of where the string spins
and vibrates. The middle single coil being a little further down from the neck, has sound the most
reggae players enjoy the most because it has the perfect balance of bass and treble to get the sound
they desire. Last but not least, the bridge pick up is the brightest sounding magnet in the guitar. It
being closer to the bridge, gives it more twang and bite compared to the neck and middle single coils.
This is all made possible by Leo Fender s Five selector switch which allows you to select each pickup
on its own or a blend

Competitive Analysis L.L. Bean is currently in a market where there are few stores that dominate.
They face competition from companies such as Columbia, North Face, REI Timberland. In some cases
these companies may offer a wider range of products, more appealing design and higher quality.
Where L.L. Bean stands out is there in country manufacturing and Discovery School classes. Not only
are they selling outdoor gear they are offering outdoor classes as well. The way I look at it is, they
offer a product and a way to test it out at the same time so you know whether you are buying a good
quality product. But this however may still not be enough to succeed. Below I have included a list of
L.L. Bean s competitors. Columbia Columbia Sportswear may not be one of L.L. Beans strongest
competitors as they do not offer equipment but they do have a strong presence in apparel and offer a
good quality product. Based on the west coast in Washington County Oregon. Similar to L.L. Bean
Columbia is family owned but traded on public stock exchange. Columbia Sportswear takes pride in
manufacturing there products and has taken a stance to be environmentally friendly. Since Columbia

When Does Tim O Brien Tell The Truth Analysis
When we tell a story that really took place in the past, we are honestly telling the truth or a lie because
the memory is something that remind us about our past that we want to remember or is our brain lying
to us about our past by choosing what to keep or leave out our memories about our past to help
comfort us moving forward in life. Do you believe Tim O Brien made the book all the more genuine
by using story truth instead of happening truth ?
Happening truth is telling something reality that you went through in the past. It leaves no pictures in
your mind, you don t feel what the story teller experienced. It s an event that realistic happen. It
implies you are left with faceless responsibility and left with hopelessness with how he felt. Example

These story truth he s telling are fictional, but they hold truthful emotions. It is consisting of the
misleading events that could have occurred to make it easier for the readers to feel what is going on
and experience it for themselves. The examples he used were as follows: O Brien expresses that what

Jay Asher, the author of the novel Thirteen Reasons Why, once said, You can hear rumors. But you can

people say is true if nobody can provide proof. In the book To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee,
folks in the town make rumors that get out of hand. Many of these rumors and popular opinions
change throughout the novel. However, just because the rumors are well known does not always make
them right because everyone has an own opinion. Tom Robinson has a hard time gaining respect from

The Influence Of Technology
Why does technology have a big impact on the world? Technology has grown for years since the first
computer was created and many have been using technology for school, work, interviews. It has made
life more easy and effective way to get stuff done faster because technology impacted many people
over the world and it has benefited us greatly. It s a wonderful way to stay connected to the world and
never miss out on events and important new broadcast.
It has advanced more further than anyone has imagined because the more we discover more things
about modern technology an apply with the knowledge that we already know and come up with a
sequence to make it correspond with other types of function. This can help the community use the
device in an easy format to benefit workers, school students, instructors. Many say that technology
will never stop evolving because each new generation has a different mindset and how they look at
thing. To improve you must have a fresh mind and think outside the box to form something new. I
would say that technology has put life in a unique perspective because it s made things easier for the
new generation because back then they didn t have the resources that we have now. To better ourselves
we must adapted to new and growing generation so that we can teach them how thing work and pass it
down towards the next.
The technology field has a lot of different forms because each has a different process on how each
action like paying a bill with a credit

As a communist state becoming more international acknowledged as a state China had to make major
changes as a government and it had to come externally. China began to manifest an awareness of
environmental problems in the early 1970 s (Ross, 810). This was because China had gained a seat in
the UN and was working with the U.S during this time. Right before the 1972 Stockholm conference
China had created a domestic agency that worked with environmental issues so that they had a voice
in the conference. This conference came to the existence of SEPA which had policies with emission
permits that was modeled by economically advanced countries such as the U.S (Ross, 812). SEPA was
a cost to the state and could restrain a growing economy which was not in China s best interest. Right
before the 1992 United Nations Conference on Environment and Development China and 41 other
developing countries made a declaration. This declaration acknowledged the need for international co
operation to promote environmental protection and sustainable development while demanding
financial assistance (Ross, 814). This was also mentioned by the top leaders of China that economic
development would reject in any interference with domestic politics for environmental policy (Ross,
814). China eventually reached a deal with a 9 year plan which shows that China is not against

Hot Rod Vs Napoleon Dynamite
Hot Rod vs. Napoleon Dynamite On one hand, Hot Rod is cool beans ,on the other, Napoleon
Dynamite is flippin sweet! Both these weird humored comedies have various on the surface aspects
that generate similarity, yet different components of each film set the two apart. The plot of these
movies are more different than they are alike. Napoleon Dynamite is set in a small town and has a
fairly insignificant plot: Pedro for class president. Napoleon, himself, is an awkward teenager trying to
help his friend. Comparing this to Hot Rod, there is a step up. The plot of the Hot Rod showcases a
fairly more significant than that of Napoleon Dynamite. Rod Kimble is an awkward adult who is

Napoleon and his friends retain PG humor with comments that are so simply odd a viewer has to
laugh, What the flip was Grandma doing at the sand dunes? Rod and his crew, though, amp up their
humor level to PG 13 with drug use, crude humor, and profanities. A considerable amount of the
humor in Hot Rod relies on violence to draw laughter from the audience, You re wrong, Frank. I m not
a kid, I m a man. I am gonna get you better, and then I m gonna beat you to death! Violence is nearly
absent in Napoleon Dynamite with the exception of Uncle Rico launching a steak at Napoleon s face.
There is a minute romance in Hot Rod with Rod and Denise, yet there is an even more nonexistent one
in Napoleon Dynamite with Napoleon and Deb: almost nonexistent. Napoleon Dynamite is a movie
that almost anyone could watch and enjoy. Hot Rod, however, is a hit or miss movie. The
controversial topics of Hot Rod could also be concerning for parents, whereas parents would easily let
their children watch Napoleon Dynamite. Napoleon Dynamite and Hot Rod are the same type of
movie on the surface, but their differences in plot and humor display how they cater to different
audiences. Napoleon Dynamite remains an enjoyable movie with a steady pace while Hot Rod goes on
as not resolute. These two classic movies have certain aspects that both set them apart from one

A Landmark Supreme Court Case
A landmark Supreme Court case is one in which a precedence is set and there is an impact on society.
There are many reasons for the importance of landmark cases and the studying of such cases. Some of
these reasons are to study how the judicial branch works, try to understand how decisions made in the
judicial branch affects laws and everyday life, and predict how current issues and cases will be
affected by past decisions (The Judicial Learning Center, 2012). There are many examples of Supreme
Court cases that are considered to be a landmark, but one example is Texas vs. Johnson. Outside of the
1984 Republican National Convention in Dallas, Texas, many people protested President Ronald
Reagan s policies. Among the protestors was one man named Gregory Lee Johnson. This man was so
upset by the policies of the President that he burned an American flag in protest. By doing this, a
statute in Texas was violated. This statute prevented the desecration of an American flag if it could
possibly anger other people amongst the protest. Johnson was arrested and charged with this violation.
He was later tried in court and convicted, but he made an appeal stating that by burning the flag he
was expressing his rights of symbolic speech which are protected by the first amendment
(uscourts.gov). The definition of symbolic speech is the same as a term called speech plus . This is a
form of expression in which behavior is used by itself or in coordination with written or spoken

Analysis Of Suicide In The Trenches
Suicide in the Trenches
War, a slaughter of men that has gone on for hundreds thousands of years. One of the most gruesome
wars was WW1 which lasted for 4 years, 28 Jul. 1914 11 Nov. 1918. In this devastating war, the total
number of casualties includes about 11 million military personnel and about 7 million civilians. Many
of those soldiers were young men. The poem Suicide in the trenches written by Siegfried Sassoon tells
what the harsh trenches had being like and how many soldiers became depressed. Sassoon was an
officer who earned a military cross after carrying a wounded solider through enemy s crossfire. He
fought in many battles till 1917 where he would then have to leave the war due to Shellshock. Sassoon
criticized the political leaders who sent young men off to die in huge battles that seemed pointless and
while Sassoon was in Hospital he opposed the war by writing many poems including Does it Matter ,
The Hero and arguably the most tragic poem, Suicide in the Trenches .
SUICIDE IN THE TRENCHES
By Siegfried Sassoon
I knew a simple soldier boy
Who grinned at life in empty joy,
Slept soundly through the lonesome dark,
And whistled early with the lark.
In winter trenches, cowed and glum,
With crumps and lice and lack of rum,
He put a bullet through his brain.
No one spoke of him again.
You smug faced crowds with kindling eye
Who cheer when soldier lads march by,
Sneak home and pray you ll never know
The hell where youth and laughter go.

loving to his wife Stella. Blanche DuBois is introduced into the play when she comes to visit her sister
Stella whom she has not seen in a long time. Blanche quickly becomes the protagonist in the play as
all of events unfold around her and lies that she constantly tells are eventually shed into light. A
Streetcar Named Desire focuses on Blanche wanting to marry a rich man and taken care of financially.
However, these desires twist and turn and in the end the illusion of being young and dainty show their
true colors as Stanley digs for who Blanche really is. Scene one of A Streetcar Named Desire sheds a
lot of light on Blanche DuBois personality as well as Stanley s by the way he acts around her. As
Blanche arrives to the Kowalski s home, she takes a streetcar named Desire then transferring to
Cemeteries and finally arriving at Elysian Fields . These names are important events that signifies the
course of Blanches life and how she has ended up in her current life situation. As Stella and Blanche
catch up, Blanche belittles Stella for her low social status and her living situations. As well as not
being joyful that Stella is married and in love, she and Stanley seem to be polar opposites which
quickly sets the tone for the remaining of the play. As the play

Yeats on Change and Stability, and How They...
The world is a place that is ever changing, yet somehow it always stays the same. There is a saying,
the more things change, the more they stay the same. Another goes like this: history has a way of
repeating itself. So does that mean that people can t learn from the mistakes of the past? Certainly not.
There are brilliant minds in this world that can visualize in what ways events have gone wrong in
history. They are able to learn the faults and strengths of other, older civilizations, and build on those.
Unfortunately, these minds are few and far between, and the rest of us are left to fend for ourselves.
There comes a time in every country/civilization s existence that a bad leader takes the reins and
things go south in a hurry. This is when declension of state is put into effect, as Plato would have it.
This rise and fall of civilization is something William Butler Yeats was very familiar with. His love of
history and the sciences were combined with a philosophy all his own. His philosophy was that in all
of the fields of history, art, personality, and society, there are conflicting forces at work: change and
stability. In each society, these two forces are at work, and that can sometimes make things chaotic in
the lives of the people in the society. These forces don t even have to be a part of society; stability and
change can be a part of everyday life. Five poems of Yeats that portray the change in the world, and
the stability too, are When You Are Old, The Lake Isle

Personal Narrative Soccer Team
Soccer is one of my first loves in life, so given the opportunity to pass this love on to someone else I
jumped at the chance. During the spring soccer season of 2016 a competitive U12 girls soccer team
needed a coach, and I jumped at the opportunity. The team consisted of fifteen girls between the ages
of ten and twelve. I ve played soccer for eleven years; in the past, I coached two recreational soccer
teams. Coaching a competitive soccer team was something I figured I was up for the challenge of.
Regular season play went reasonably well, but the highlight of the season was when the team went to
The Yellowstone Cup in Rexburg, Idaho. This is where we had the most growth as a team and where I
learned the most about tactics as a coach.

Everyone was keyed up for the game. You could feel the energy on the field, it was contagious. After
warm ups the referees had us line up and walk onto the field and face the crowd, so our fans could
take pictures of us. Once the referee blew the whistle and the game started the intensity instantly
doubled. Right as the game started, I could see the new formation we worked on in our game against
Bridger valley that morning wasn t going to work. The Pocatello players were penetrating our defense.
Changing formations on the fly with young players is extremely difficult. While I was struggling to
get the team to understand what I wanted them to do, Pocatello scored. I did a couple substitutions at
the restart, so I could put the team back in its regular formation. We continued to fight for the rest of
the half, but we just couldn t get any shots in the net. Right before the half ended one of my speedy
outside defenders collided with another player and went down. Her knee popped and hurt to walk on,
so she could no longer play. The trainer that was covering the game said nothing in her knee was torn,
but it probably would be best if she didn t continue to play. The referee restarted the game, and we
continued until halftime. At halftime we talked about staying calm and passing the ball instead of just
trying to kick it down the middle of the field. Once the game started in the first few minutes we
controlled the ball and had a

Misrepresentation Of Women s Role In Mythology
Women play different roles throughout mythology. The Greeks and Romans for example viewed
women as prizes to men, as male s lesser counterparts and with roles that required them to be seen and
not heard. Yet there are Goddesses with stories that tell of their victories, stories that spit in the face of
the standards women were expected to follow. It is easy to assume that strong and deserving women
were simply misrepresented due to the male dominated societies they lived in. It is no secret that the
Roman World was male dominated. The myths we know about today come from male writers and
scholars, and the stories they tell hail from a male dominated society. Because of this, the role and
status of women in Roman society has been misrepresented.

Superiority of Races in Sinclair Lewis Babbitt Essay...
Superiority of Races in Babbit
Hatred, intolerance, prejudice, and narrow mindedness are all terms that can be applied when
describing someone who is a bigot. By these terms George F. Babbitt, the protagonist in Sinclair
Lewis Babbitt, and many of his acquaintances are quite the bigots toward all those that appear
different than he is especially immigrants and minorities in America. The blame should not be placed
squarely on these men s shoulders for possessing such hate filled beliefs, but their opinion of the
matter is generated from the accepted notion, which had been approved of and passed down through
the generations, that immigrants and minorities are far less superior than the native white men who

In his lecture of the news, he went and to say on how the US should step in and kick those Bolshevik
cusses out indicating that the Russians are not sophisticated enough to handle their own problems and
need the US s assistance (Lewis 21). This incident with the newspaper exemplifies the fact that
Babbitt, while never admitting to it, has views that the white race is far superior to any other in the US
and probably the world for that matter.
Babbitt often expressed his ideas of bigotry to the reader while thinking to himself, but there was one
instance in which the silence could no longer be kept and some newly acquired friends of his shared
their thoughts, which Babbitt himself could most definitely have held to be true. This occurred on
Babbitt s train ride to Maine for his vacation with Paul Riesling away from all the distractions of city
life. On this ride Babbitt met some new colleagues and they were having a great time discussing
business matters and politics. While conversing, a young African American porter comes in and in a
very polite way interrupts their conversation to give them information that they were in need of

The purpose of laryngectomy is to remove tumor or cancerous tissues. It is done when the larynx is
badly damaged or when cancer has advanced. Often, if the cancer has spread, other surrounding
structures in the neck, such as lymph nodes, are removed at the same time. Partial laryngectomies are
done when cancer is limited in one area of which the tumor is located, will be removed. Also
laryngectomy is performed because cancer treatment option, such as radiation or chemotherapy has
failed. (Gale Encyclopedia of medicine. 2008). Nurses play a critical role in patient education
throughout the entire spectrum of healthcare. Nursing care of people who have a total laryngectomy
starts in the pre operative period with patient education and continues after discharge with follow up
care. The nurse patient relationship begins in the outpatient setting, where the nurse performs a
complete head and neck assessment and comprehensive review of the patient s past medical and social
history. (Cheryl Bressler, MSN, RN). First, to start the process of preop care, making sure the patient
had a restriction of foods and liquids at least six to nine hours before the surgery. The nurse would

pleasure and even kills some of the boys. Jack has a very aggressive personality and is ugly and
gangly. *I put brown and green together because they represent the same thing Brown and green The
brown and green represent Jack s mask. Golding uses the mask to represent savagery and human
nature, showing how Jack was consumed by his barbaric instincts. Similarly, I placed the brown and
green on the outside to illustrate how the mask consumes him. Furthermore, Jack uses the mask to

Aperture Cameras Consistently Returned The Highest Net Income
Aperture Cameras consistently returned the highest net income (Fig.3), which provided the base for
strong earnings per share (EPS) and return on equity (REO). For example, Year 6 earnings per share
was $3.57 and increased in each subsequent year, ending Year 12 at $7.25. The improved EPS was
accomplished with providing consistent well thought out modifications to the business model and not
significant stock repurchase. The company did strategically make annual stock repurchases starting in
Year 8. Return on Equity (ROE) was maintained at a consistent weighted average of 23.7, representing
the average of ROE from a low of 21.0 to a high of 27.1. Management elected to operate the company
with sound business principals and avoid aggressive changes in the balance sheet and/or P L, which
could dramatically swing the ROE.
It was management s opinion what consistent reliable business practices would add a sense of security
to the company s operations, employees and shareholders. The financial consistency of the company
provided shareholders with comfort in their investment with the stock price at $43.92 in Year 6 and
steadily rising to $128.11 by Year 12. As previously noted, the financial results were accomplished by
providing consistent high net earnings on its operations each accounting year. The company did not
incur long term debt and operated its business without having to utilized its bank operating line of

The History of the Canonization of the Bible The process by which the English Bible, as it is known
to the English culture today, was compiled is an extraordinary thing to see. The Bible consists of two
parts: the Old Testament and the New Testament. The process by which both Testaments were written
and then canonized into one book transpired over a period of many years. Once the canonization of
the Bible officially came to an end, it was translated into English. Since then, many versions of the
modern Bible have been made. Since the individual books of the Bible became scattered as they were
written, people set forth to preserve God s Word by compiling them into one ... Show more content on

He therefore separates the Apocrypha from the main part of the Bible, putting it in an appendix. In AD
1546, the Council of Trent convenes and settles once and for all that the Old Testament consists of all
forty six books ( Development of the Difficult Canon ). The New Testament was canonized over a
period of approximately four hundred years (Stotesberg). From AD 50 125, the books which in the
end constitute the New Testament were written. Simultaneously, other books, which did not end up
being included in the final canon, were produced. These books are the Epistle of Barnabas, the
Didache, I Clement, the seven letters of Ignatius of Antioch, etc. ( Development of the Difficult Canon
). As more and more books were written, Christians realized that it was imperative that they gather and
consolidate this material before it became lost. Sometime before AD 100, ten of Paul s letters were
gathered and combined into their own canon. The Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John) were
combined to form another canon soon after the canonization of Paul s letters. The Gospels and Paul s
letters became the main body of a new group of Scriptures that would soon become the New
Testament. Soon Acts, I Peter, I John, and Revelation were inserted into this body of Scripture.
Following this, the rest of the books were added to the New Testament (Barker).
In AD 140, Marcion, a heretical teacher who discarded the Old Testament as Scripture, took parts of

Unit 1 Golf Research Paper
Hole In One
Golf is one of the most fun sports in the world, but it is also a game that requires a lot of patience.
There is almost a golf course in every town so it is not hard to find a place to play. You might say but
it s to hard but with these simple tips you can be the king of the course.
What Is Golf?
Golf is a sport in which a player uses clubs to get a ball into a hole usually a great distance away.
There are not many rules in golf except you can not touch the ball with your hands, unless you hit it
out of bounds and are moving it into play. The only other time you can touch a ball is if you put a
marker down on the ground to show where the ball was that you just picked up.

Don t be confused though if one day a friend can golf it is a sport that you can play against yourself
you can just see how low of a score you get by yourself then brag to you friends or family members.
There is also people that say that golf should not be played with carts and prefer to walk the course, in
my opinion, it doesn t really matter, whether you walk the course or use a golf cart as it doesn t really
change the game that much.
Best Courses
Pine Valley golf course in New Jersey is famous for being one of the most difficult golf courses in the
world. With a mixture of beautiful scenery and difficulty. Cypress Point, this course is both difficult
and maybe the most beautiful course. Located in pebble beach. This course has water surrounding
almost every hole.
Golf Balls
You might be wondering is the ball really that important to the game. Well yes and no is it helpful to
have a better ball yes it allows for more control and longer shots. The one thing you have to remember
is a ball can t really make your game better or worse only very good golfers can tell the difference in
the balls. So for right now I would say get a medium of the range ball not to expensive but not super
cheap. A good middle of the line golf ball is

solution to increase restrictions for exotic pet ownership, which allows for more responsible exotic pet
ownership and the decreased capacity of danger to the public. In addition, it will provide for more
safety precautions and ensure those exotic animals in captivity are provided for every day. The first
step in our process of analyzing the recommendations of exotic pet ownership in Missouri was
researching the current regulations in other states and what was working and not working in those
states. Currently, every state has varying regulations and within those states, many cities and counties
have assorted regulations as well. Based on the success of the drastic changes the state of Ohio has
made in the exotic animal ownership regulations, their platform for change is one to model. Ohio was
once a state with no restrictions on exotic animal ownership prior to the 2011 incidence of Terry
Thompson, who set free his exotic animal farm of fifty plus animals before committing suicide. This
incident pushed the already in question exotic pet ownership regulations into national limelight. Our
task force has researched the current restrictions and the process of implementing them along with the
undesirable potential side effects of these new laws. With this information, we were prepared to
present a solid foundation for the state of Missouri to create a new movement in the exotic pet

List and Describe the Signs and Symptoms of AD? Alzheimer s Disease (AD) affects individuals and

can significantly impact the quality of life of those who are affected. Early symptoms of AD are often

Elo Boosting and the Impact it has on High and Low Level Play in League of Legends (Draft 1)
Ranked queue in League of Legends provides competitive players an arena in which they can test and
hone their skills against other like minded opponents and see how skilled they are relative to the rest
of their region and fellow gamers. It is a great environment for players who thrive in a competitive
atmosphere and players of all ranks receive some sort of reward, with larger rewards earned the higher
one s rank is. The most competitive players, who are often the highest ranked, earn prizes often in
cash, gaming hardware worth a significant amount of money or in game currency, glory and possibly
even a career. Unfortunately, there are a good amount of individuals that wish to bypass the trials of
ranked play and attain rewards that they themselves cannot earn. As in any competitive environment,
cheaters will inevitably exist and League of Legends is no exception. Those that do not wish to endure
the stress of ranked or are unable to climb with their own skill will cheat. This form of cheating in
League of Legends, called elo boosting, is highly frowned upon by the community and its developers,
is a punishable offense, undercuts the skill necessary to attain certain ranks and degrades the
sportsmanlike and competitive nature of the game at all tiers and divisions of the game.

The Great Ideas Of Thomas Hobbes Leviathan, And Adam...
hile there are many big ideas in Thomas Hobbes Leviathan, and Adam Smith s The Wealth of Nations,
the most important ideas deal with human nature and social order. In this paper, I will argue Hobbes
lack of optimism, and Smith s lack of pessimism in their theories of human nature, and will also
discuss how our idea of social order changes once these aspects are taken into consideration. Hobbes
theory of human nature begins with him stating that all men are created equal. With all men being
created equal, this means that everyone is equally capable of killing each other, because while, there
may be found one man sometimes manifestly stronger in body, the weaker may be compensated for by
his quicker mind. This equality of ability produces equality of hope for the attaining of our goals, and
that when two or more men desire the same thing which they cannot both enjoy, they become enemies
and attempt to destroy each other. Hobbes called this time when men oppose each other war, and said
that there were three basic causes for war: competition, distrust, and glory. Hobbes also maintains the
belief that in this state of nature, humans have a natural tendency to obtain as much power as they can,
and that the only way they will ever be satisfied with their power is by acquiring more power, going so
far as to harm or kill others in order attain what they desire. Thus, the state of nature is a war of every
man against every man, where humans live in perpetual fear

adversity which faced them along every aspect of the journey was tremendous, and without a leader
who was searching for opportunities to better their circumstance, many would have perished. Kouzes

This is even more important in Shackleton s case, as complacency would undoubtedly lead to the
negligent death of his crew. For instance, when the ice began to crush the ship, Shackleton decided to
take lifeboats and abandon the vessel. If he had not searched for a better opportunity, they would have
lost all supplies when the boat finally sank. Another example is when they reached Elephant Island,
staying there would have resulted in the death all of members, as the food was scarce and there was no
ability to signal for rescue. Furthermore, if everyone tried to cross the ocean the chances of success for
all ships was unlikely. Shackleton new that another option was needed in order for everyone to
survive, so he sought out the idea of only sending himself and a few others. This allowed others to
survive on the island while they looked for rescue. If Shackleton did not seek out opportunities to
better the others, they would not have been able to reach South Georgia and return to rescue the rest.
Being a complacent leader would have altered this story from greatest survival to the greatest

In the end, the action game players were up to 25 percent faster at making conclusions and were just
as accurate as the other group. This study concludes that action video game players brains are more
efficient at collecting visual and auditory information and make faster and just as accurate decisions
(Video Games Lead to Faster Decisions). The study stated that the reason why action video game
players can make faster decisions is because they use a process that is probabilistic inference.
According to the same article, probabilistic inference is when the brain continuously gathers multiple
small pieces of visual or auditory information as a person looks at a scene, eventually gathering
enough information for the person to make an accurate ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One of the biggest factors that video games have impacted is peoples health. Video games have good
and bad factors to peoples health. For example some problems that video games have impacted are
obesity, aggressive behavior and cognition, sleep deprivation and many others. They have also
impacted the problem of addiction. One would figure out after researching this subject that just being
a male gender increases addiction of video games. Video games can also be a healthy and therapeutic.
Games also change how people think and how peoples brain works. They have enhanced peoples
visual skills and actually make it easier to create new sensorimotor skills. Peoples thought process
have also been impacted because of video games. People that play action video games are proven to
have faster decision making but as accurate as people that do not play video games. Video game
players interpret the world differently than non video game players. Nolan Bushnell once stated, Video
games foster the mindset that allows creativity to grow (Colzato). This quote is stating that video
games promote creativity and help humanity grow and become more creative in our world. We need
creative people in our world to build buildings, become art teachers, and many more jobs. One might
be surprised to learn that after researching this subject on how dramatically video games impacted the

R T Textiles Pty Ltd), who went on to admit to the infringement and responded by withdrawing the
offending fabric off the sale.
The other aspect of the case however remained the most interesting, that is, a parallel claim by Mr
George Milpurrurru of the copyright by the Ganalbingu People upon the painting, completely separate
from that of the rights of Mr John Bulun Buluna.
The claim by Mr George Milpurrurru was that the Ganalbingu People had rights in equity in the
painting of Mr John Bulun Buluna because of the ethical trust that the traditions and customs had
established upon.
The court did observe that in most of the tribal communities of Africa, tribal property was regarded to

When she was nine years old, four girl met a girl mystical figure in the forest, roasting the raccoon for
dinner. In her search of the answer, she went to the forest and witnessed Gabriel giving revelation to
Joan . With that sight, she committed herself to join the training in the church (catechism). Four Girl
asked whether there would be cookies available in the teaching of the classes she attended ( p. 57) and
how she devoured the lunch reward after catechism ( p.59). Page 58 reveals how critical Four Girl was
on the teaching and the concept of Christianity. Dr. Won interpreted this as a desire to know ( p. 59)
and that she has spiritual sensitivty .
The catechism classes have convinced Four Girl to embrace Christianity. So she was then baptized
under the watchful eyes of Dr. Won , Mrs. Won , and Joan. Returning home, her uncle and Chun her
cousin, were waiting for her. Chun was ordered by his father to teach Vibiana, her new name, a lesson
for being a Christian . After the incident, her mother told the story of her father who joined a foreign
cult and ended up having a tragic life and death. Her mother wanted her to leave the foreign religion
and apologize to the family. That night, she decided to leave the house and followed Father Bey .
The story moved forward to the age when she was 14. In a dialog, Father Bey asked whether God had
spoken to her about her vocation . After a series of questions, Vibiana concluded that she ( God)

Out of all the plans she had hatched in order to secure Camelot s Throne, this should have ranked as the most successful. Odin needed no persuasion to invade Nemeth, particularly when she advised him of the gold, silver, jewellery and fine cloth to be found in abundance indeed, he had almost wept for joy! Out of all Odin s failings, she preferred his greed to his cowardice. Who had melded him into this trembling specimen of subservience? Another one of Arthur s misty eyed speeches on peace, unity and working together for the common good? Well, men had been bought for far less. Rare fine wines, judging from the conversation she had just heard. Still... as much as she might scoff at Odin, Camelot gained much from it. Other kingdoms still disputing land and titles with Camelot would be encouraged by it and possibly reach further agreements. After all, Nemeth had still abided by the terms Arthur set forward, even after he rejected Mithian s hand in marriage. Without money or access to an army, what chance would there be in future to attack? No use fretting about the future when trying to recover right now. One step at a time. Both cases are based on the views of the strategy development process as seen by members of the respective top management teams. The Castle Press case describes how five members of the top management team view the process. Both cases are con ‐ structed around two general themes. The outcome was implemented about eighteen months ago. We now have a TMT of six people and the focus of our meetings is higher level discussions and strategic planning. MANAGING DIRECTOR As a group, the TMT thought that they were compatible and rarely in conflict with each other. The collective criticism of team meetings was the danger that discussions gravitated towards the operational rather than the strategic, since this was the one time that team members found themselves together in one place at one time. Describe at least one of these experiments and explain the significance of the findings. In one of the experiments, Mary Gasseling took a little patch of tissue, early in development, from what would be the pinky side of a limb bud. She took that tissue and put it on the opposite side right beneath where the first finger would form. The chick would develop and form a wing; the new fingers were also copies of the normal set. Basically, the tissue (more specifically some molecule or gene inside the tissue) was able to direct the development of the pattern of the fingers. This led to further experiments that defined the ZPA, or the zone of polarizing activity. This patch of tissue is able to determine the difference between the pinky side and the thumb side. 2. Describe the hedgehog gene using several animal examples. Be sure to explain its function and its region of activity in the body. Hedgehog is a gene active in ZPA. The gene creates digits that are clearly different from one another depending on how close they are to the ZPA. Personal, Cultural, historical and social influences can determine in which way the theme is related to. It is labelled as an issue being associated with the depression as well as today. The two text types that I have analysed to further explore belonging is the novel To Kill A Mocking Bird and the film The Breakfast Club as well as the themes apparent in both of these Prejudice, cultural bias and stereotypes. The novel To Kill A Mocking Bird is primarily based on the problems associated with prejudice and cultural bias during the 30 s. That these themes are explored by Harper Lee it allows for a greater approach to balancing belonging and most of all not belonging. In Chapter 20 of the novel Atticus states There s something in our world that makes men lose their heads, they couldn t be fair if they tried it s a white mans world against a black man s, a white man always wins now this quote is directed at Jem. A 10 year old girl caught in the prime generation for cultural bias and discrimination. The inclusion of this statement is the utilisation of metaphor to reflect the strong presence of inequality and racism. It is as straightforward to the reader, as it is in the text. This technique establishes the two perspectives within the town. Jem s prejudice outlook is a good reference to how people will go along with what they are educated on rather than what they see, as it s easier to belong than to not. It clearly ... Pick ups are electro magnets that have six pole magnets with two plastic pieces fit on each end to hold them together. A thin copper wire is then spun around all six magnets for an average of seven thousand times. The more spins a pick up contains, the more output it holds, giving the player more response when the strings are stricken. The pick ups are white with the magnets staggered and poking through the pick up cover. Each one is a single coil magnet placed into the pickguard in a certain place or angle. Wherever the pick up is positioned, will determine the sound it makes. The neck single coil, being closest to the neck of the guitar, has more bass in its sound due to it being closer to the center point of where the string spins and vibrates. The middle single coil being a little further down from the neck, has sound the most reggae players enjoy the most because it has the perfect balance of bass and treble to get the sound they desire. Last but not least, the bridge pick up is the brightest sounding magnet in the guitar. It being closer to the bridge, gives it more twang and bite compared to the neck and middle single coils. This is all made possible by Leo Fender s Five selector switch which allows you to select each pickup on its own or a blend ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

There are many reasons for the importance of landmark cases and the studying of such cases. Some of these reasons are to study how the judicial branch works, try to understand how decisions made in the judicial branch affects laws and everyday life, and predict how current issues and cases will be affected by past decisions (The Judicial Learning Center, 2012). There are many examples of Supreme Court cases that are considered to be a landmark, but one example is Texas vs. Johnson. Outside of the 1984 Republican National Convention in Dallas, Texas, many people protested President Ronald Reagan s policies. Among the protestors was one man named Gregory Lee Johnson. This man was so upset by the policies of the President that he burned an American flag in protest. By doing this, a statute in Texas was violated. This statute prevented the desecration of an American flag if it could possibly anger other people amongst the protest. Johnson was arrested and charged with this violation. He was later tried in court and convicted, but he made an appeal stating that by burning the flag he was expressing his rights of symbolic speech which are protected by the first amendment (uscourts.gov). One of the most gruesome wars was WW1 which lasted for 4 years, 28 Jul. 1914 11 Nov. 1918. In this devastating war, the total number of casualties includes about 11 million military personnel and about 7 million civilians. Many of those soldiers were young men. The poem Suicide in the trenches written by Siegfried Sassoon tells what the harsh trenches had being like and how many soldiers became depressed. Sassoon was an officer who earned a military cross after carrying a wounded solider through enemy s crossfire. He fought in many battles till 1917 where he would then have to leave the war due to Shellshock. Sassoon criticized the political leaders who sent young men off to die in huge battles that seemed pointless and while Sassoon was in Hospital he opposed the war by writing many poems including Does it Matter , The Hero and arguably the most tragic poem, Suicide in the Trenches . SUICIDE IN THE TRENCHES By Siegfried Sassoon I knew a simple soldier boy Who grinned at life in empty joy, Slept soundly through the lonesome dark, And whistled early with the lark. In winter trenches, cowed and glum, With crumps and lice and lack of rum, He put a bullet through his brain. No one spoke of him again. • 23. Yeats on Change and Stability, and How They... The world is a place that is ever changing, yet somehow it always stays the same. There is a saying, the more things change, the more they stay the same. Another goes like this: history has a way of repeating itself. So does that mean that people can t learn from the mistakes of the past? Certainly not. There are brilliant minds in this world that can visualize in what ways events have gone wrong in history. They are able to learn the faults and strengths of other, older civilizations, and build on those. Unfortunately, these minds are few and far between, and the rest of us are left to fend for ourselves. There comes a time in every country/civilization s existence that a bad leader takes the reins and things go south in a hurry. This is when declension of state is put into effect, as Plato would have it. This rise and fall of civilization is something William Butler Yeats was very familiar with. His love of history and the sciences were combined with a philosophy all his own. His philosophy was that in all of the fields of history, art, personality, and society, there are conflicting forces at work: change and stability. In each society, these two forces are at work, and that can sometimes make things chaotic in the lives of the people in the society. These forces don t even have to be a part of society; stability and change can be a part of everyday life. History of the Bible Essay Brittany Stewart Instructor Pursell English 132 9 December 2009 The History of the Canonization of the Bible The process by which the English Bible, as it is known to the English culture today, was compiled is an extraordinary thing to see. The Bible consists of two parts: the Old Testament and the New Testament. The process by which both Testaments were written and then canonized into one book transpired over a period of many years. Once the canonization of the Bible officially came to an end, it was translated into English. Since then, many versions of the modern Bible have been made. Since the individual books of the Bible became scattered as they were written, people set forth to preserve God s Word by compiling them into one ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He therefore separates the Apocrypha from the main part of the Bible, putting it in an appendix. In AD 1546, the Council of Trent convenes and settles once and for all that the Old Testament consists of all forty six books ( Development of the Difficult Canon ). The New Testament was canonized over a period of approximately four hundred years (Stotesberg). From AD 50 125, the books which in the end constitute the New Testament were written. Simultaneously, other books, which did not end up being included in the final canon, were produced. These books are the Epistle of Barnabas, the Didache, I Clement, the seven letters of Ignatius of Antioch, etc. ( Development of the Difficult Canon ). As more and more books were written, Christians realized that it was imperative that they gather and consolidate this material before it became lost. Sometime before AD 100, ten of Paul s letters were gathered and combined into their own canon. The Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John) were combined to form another canon soon after the canonization of Paul s letters. The Gospels and Paul s letters became the main body of a new group of Scriptures that would soon become the New Testament. Soon Acts, I Peter, I John, and Revelation were inserted into this body of Scripture. Following this, the rest of the books were added to the New Testament (Barker). In AD 140, Marcion, a heretical teacher who discarded the Old Testament as Scripture, took parts of Luke and also ten ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 36. The Great Ideas Of Thomas Hobbes Leviathan, And Adam... hile there are many big ideas in Thomas Hobbes Leviathan, and Adam Smith s The Wealth of Nations, the most important ideas deal with human nature and social order. In this paper, I will argue Hobbes lack of optimism, and Smith s lack of pessimism in their theories of human nature, and will also discuss how our idea of social order changes once these aspects are taken into consideration. Hobbes theory of human nature begins with him stating that all men are created equal. With all men being created equal, this means that everyone is equally capable of killing each other, because while, there may be found one man sometimes manifestly stronger in body, the weaker may be compensated for by his quicker mind. This equality of ability produces equality of hope for the attaining of our goals, and that when two or more men desire the same thing which they cannot both enjoy, they become enemies and attempt to destroy each other. Hobbes called this time when men oppose each other war, and said that there were three basic causes for war: competition, distrust, and glory. Hobbes also maintains the belief that in this state of nature, humans have a natural tendency to obtain as much power as they can, and that the only way they will ever be satisfied with their power is by acquiring more power, going so far as to harm or kill others in order attain what they desire. Thus, the state of nature is a war of every man against every man, where humans live in perpetual fear ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Another example is when they reached Elephant Island, staying there would have resulted in the death all of members, as the food was scarce and there was no ability to signal for rescue. Furthermore, if everyone tried to cross the ocean the chances of success for all ships was unlikely. Shackleton new that another option was needed in order for everyone to survive, so he sought out the idea of only sending himself and a few others. This allowed others to survive on the island while they looked for rescue.
