I believe destiny and hard work go hand in hand (Chopra). This quote was said by priyanka chopra.
He was explaining how much his work means to him and that life requires hard work. In this job one
can create models of engineering designs and explaining methods for different items. Electrical,
Electronics, and mechanical are just some subjects one might get to experience with. Artificial
intelligence systems are just one of the items one might design.
An advantage of being an aerospace engineer is it great pay. Aerospace engineers are very fortunate it
to get good pay for what they do. Most engineers get paid every week or every two weeks. One can
get paid as much as up toward 400 dollars a day but if one would only work 8 hours they get $320.
One is guaranteed a job because the government is always in need. When it s time to retire they give a
good plan and reasonable life insurance. They also will give one a pension for all the years of hard
work over the years of service. Typical aerospace engineers make around $107,803 per year. They are

Crying Of Lot 49 Essay
Thomas Pynchon s The Crying of Lot 49 (1966) is one of the early instances of postmodern literature,
in which the spread of mass culture plays a central role. In addition, the novel explores the ways, in
which conspiracy of unknown forces or structures influence an individual s vision of the world and
self. The entire novel is saturated with references to popular culture; Oedipa s world is filled with and
dominated by mass culture technology, such as television, radio and newspaper, and most of the
people around her are in some ways representing various historical figures. The names of the
characters are an essential aspect of The Crying of Lot 49, and are reflecting both popular culture and
the struggle to determine one s identity in the novel. Oedipa s name is a reference to the Ancient
Greek tragedy ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Similarly, the name of Oedipa s psychiatrist Dr. Hilarius is, for instance, a similar play of the
language, since there is nothing hilarious about his character, who is engaging in formidable
experiments at a World War II concentration camp. When it comes to experiencing paranoia and
conspiracy, the plot follows the main character Oedipa Maas, who discovers Trystero, a secret postal
service organization, which threatens the economy of the official postal service. The information she
finds about the existence of Trystero, however valid it may be, radically changes her perception of the
world. Throughout the novel, Oedipa becomes more and more paranoid and disorganized, reading
hidden meaning into everything. Solving the mystery of Trystero becomes her ultimate priority in life
and makes her unable to distinguish the world of her obsession from the real world. Even though she
is somewhat aware of creating her own reality, she does not know what extent of the world she
perceives is real and how much is a part of her

Environmental Impact and Sustainability Issues related to PBDEs
In chapter fourteen of our textbook, Environment: The Science Behind The Stories, it is made clear
that the United States does not use the precautionary principle approach when it comes to evaluating
how toxic a substance is (Withgott Laposata, 2014, p. 382). This lack of precaution has proven to be
dangerous when it comes to chemicals, especially when using polybrominated diphenyl ethers
(PBDEs). PBDEs are chemically engineered flame retardants used during the manufacturing process
of clothing, bedding, and many other household goods. These flame retardants work by eliminating
the fire s oxygen supply, resulting in less damage to the item and a decrease in the chance of a larger
fire (Hester Harrison, 2013, p. 45). While PBDEs may have been necessary during a time when there
were fewer fire regulations, it is clear that the negative effects of these flame retardants outweigh the
benefits in today s times.
According to the journal of Environmental Science Technology (2016), the toxicity of PBDEs was
first discovered in Sweden, when a study exposed an unsafe and increasing level of flame retardants in
the breast milk of women. This study showed that PBDEs were potentially toxic and highly
bioaccumulative, meaning that they accumulate in the body instead of being broken down. PBDEs
were identified as mutagens, as well as possible carcinogens. Because of these findings, PBDEs were
banned in some countries and

Communism And Communism Around The World
Communism
Throughout the years, humans have come up with many, many ideas. Some ideas, like expressing
language using symbols (writing) or a machine that could transmit sound energy using electricity
(telephone) are fundamental to our everyday lives. Other ideas, such as a USB pet rock
(http://www.thinkgeek.com/product/c208/), are just plain head scratching. But in 1848, Karl Marx and
Friedrich Engels wrote a book about an idea that would change the world. That idea is still around the
world today. The name of their book? The Communist Manifesto . Communism is a society where
private property and social classes are non existent, the government owns any and all materials
required to make products, and gives everyone what they need to get by. In Communism, there are no
social classes. Everyone is equal to their fellow citizens. The idea of Communism became very
influential in the 20th century, as it helped inspire communist revolutions in many different countries
around the world. Marx believed that mankind s one issue throughout the years was a clash between
different social classes. Marx isn t completely wrong when he says that. No one likes being told what
to do by a group of people from the dominant social class , but Marx s idea was a bit extreme. He
came to the conclusion that, Hey, if social classes are the real problem here, why don t we have a class
less society? . In theory, everyone would get along and be equal. We would work to our ability and

Siam in the First World War
At the outbreak of the war in August of 1914, which merely 4 years after ascending to the Throne in
1910, the King Vajiravudh monitoring and was well informed about development of the war in
Europe. Prior to Siam joined the war the king Vajiravudh observed that Siam was geographically so
remote from the war and he was rightly in thinking that it was wise for Siam to maintain strict and
impartial neutrality. The reason behind this decision was due to the fact that there were danger signs of
the threats to Siamese independence especially during the early years of the reign. As can be see from
the last decade of nineteenth century Siam was the only independent country in the South East Asia
that was surrounded by British and French colonies from east to west. The incident at Pak Nam , in
1893, in which French brought the gun boats from their colonies in Indo China to the Mae Nam and
trained the guns on the King s Palace in Bangkok, were still fresh in the mine of people in Siam. As a
result of this conflicted Siam had to cede to France the right bank of Mae Khong River which included
Loung Pra Bang followed by the whole of Cambodia which included Phra Vuhear temple in 1907 after
signed Entente Cordiale agreement of 1907. As well as these Siam also ceded Kedah, Kelanton,
Trangkanu and Perlis to Britain in 1909. Until about 1910s Germany became a new competitor on
colonial affairs, and show increased influence in Siam. According to Directory of Bangkok and Siam

Race In The Cyborg Manafesto, By Kurt Vonnegut
From experience as a student myself, students often read books and short stories and often only think
about what they are they are reading. People focus in on the material and nothing outside of it. The
idea of using another novel or story as a theoretical lens text never occurs to them. A theoretical lens is
when you use another piece of work to describe, or bring out more detail in another piece of work.
The Cyborg Manafesto by Donna Haraway compliments many of the ideas brought up in Breakfast of
Champions by Kurt Vonnegut. Haraway s claims about race, the distinction between human and
machines, and the concept that humans are cyborgs all support the themes and ideas in Breakfast of
Champions. Donna Haraway s claim about humans ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is said that machines are not self moving, self designing, or autonomous,(Harraway 151). They
could not do what men could do, they could only mock it. As you look at Breakfast of Champions you
can see how this compliments the novel. This is pertaining to Dwayne Hoover, who is the other main
character in Breakfast of Champions. His actions at the end of the novel were because he couldn t not
distinguish the difference between humans and machines. Hoover went on a rampage at the end of the
novel. He was convinced everyone was a machine besides him and went on a rampage hurting many
people. He tried to justify his actions by saying everyone was else was a machine which meant they
didn t have feelings. So he couldn t hurt them. He didn t feel remorse because after all, he still thought
he attacked machines. Haraway s ideology compliments this because Dwayne Hoover needed to
realize the difference between humans and machines. His insanity drove him to the point where he

The Unicorn And The Wasp Analysis
The murder mystery is a genre of literature that has been tackled by many authors over its long
history. Agatha Christie is not just any author though, as her work in renovating the detective genre,
has seemingly perfected the art of solving a murder. Perhaps this is why her books have been sold
more than any other novelist, only being beaten out by the works of Shakespeare, and the bible.
Crooked House is one of those many, many books she has authored. In it, she took the opportunity to
poke fun at, and break the rules of, the very formula of the detective, that she helped make popular.
One might say that Crooked House parodies the detective novel, and it is in that spirit, that the Doctor
Who episode adapts the novel. The Unicorn and the Wasp is definitely a parody of the murder mystery
form. Agatha Christie novels in particular are the focus of its many silly allusions, so it is not surprise
that an analogy to Crooked House is formed. Not content with merely parodying her style, Doctor
Who adds a splash of its style, with the typical alien occult element, that the shows is famous for. With
its mash of elements of the form, and its usual flair of weird, The Unicorn and the Wasp , sees itself
paying respect to a literary genius. Parody, in Leitch s terms, is an adaptation, that instead of copying a
text/style, it seeks to satirize it, via subtle ways of poking at the sources elements (Leitch, pgs. 116
188). This is the case for Crooked House, which aims point out some

James Monroe s Beliefs During The Era Of Good Feelings
The War of 1812 was fought between the United States and Britain over British seizures of American
ships, British aid to Native American tribes, and the American desire to restore confidence in the
republican experiment. Two years after the Treaty of Ghent was signed in 1814, James Monroe was
elected as the fifth president of the United States. During his presidency, the term Era of Good
Feelings was coined. This phrase referred to the peace and prosperity of the United States between
1817 and 1824. During the Era of Good Feelings, there was an increase in nationalism and
sectionalism. These beliefs developed concurrently due to the unification of Americans through a
strong, independent economy, the spread of nationalistic literature, art, ... Show more content on

Besides authors like Washington Irving and James Fenimore Cooper who wrote books based in
America, there were also poets and distinguished individuals who spread the idea of unity. For
example, a poet named Joseph Rodman Drake wrote a poem titled The American Flag in 1819
(Document 2). His poem was a tribute to the American flag and to the principles which America was
founded on, such as freedom. The American Flag was similar to other poems and literature at that time
in that it made Americans proud of their country. Before the Era of Good Feelings, there were not
many books or poems that were about America, nonetheless about American pride and nationalism.
Drake s poem helped nationalism rise because it allowed the beliefs of pride and unity to spread
around the nation. Speech was another important method in the spread of nationalism. Stephen
Decatur was an American naval officer who helped lead a major military victory against the Barbary
Pirates. After the victory, he gave a patriotic toast that highlighted his pride for America. (Document
1) In the toast, Decatur stated that America would be right in any foreign affair, no matter the
situation. This statement in 1819 showed Decatur s unwavering loyalty and support to the United
States. Decatur s statement about the United States helped increase nationalism because it showed that

The Varying Personas of People in Twitter and in Real-life
The Varying Personas of People in Twitter and in Real life Tom Marvolo Riddle from J.K. Rowling s
Harry Potter series had stored parts of his soul into different inanimate objects called horcruxes which
caused him to lose control of himself and become the infamous, Lord Voldemort. This gave him the
ability to live even though his physical body was gone and his soul continued to thrive in his set of
carefully selected objects, patiently waiting for the right time to strike. While the world of Harry
Power is only a work of fiction, social networking sites have given ordinary persons the ability to
create their own set of horcruxes , not through inanimate objects but through various social
networking accounts. Through these modern horcruxes , people can divide the different personalities
they possess into their social networking accounts to reach a wider set of audiences and live in the
world of the Internet. Social networking sites have become popular over the years, like twitter, which
allows users to present themselves through their tweets using photos, hyperlinks, or hashtags. Boyd

identities but it does not mean people are presenting themselves online the way they do in real life. A

As we have all probably found out, talking about someone behind their back never works for the
better. Her friend Beatrix talks about a man who lives in another town who writes tour guide books as
a living. Her brother would stop writing poetry and start to write something useful like this so that
they can get more money. As to not squander his time, Dorothy thinks he should change what he is
writing so they could sell a book and actually live off of his hard work. if only William would turn his
gills to something similar, we could both perhaps find pleasure. But no, he will not listen. He has ears
only for his Muse. Wishing that her brother would not be as lazy as she thinks he is would not be a big
problem if she took the issue to him. Dorothy instead brings her problems to a friend and they talk
about him and other men. This behavior could lead them to trouble if they do not get a hold of their
need for hurtful gossip. Moreover, William probably takes pride in his work and they are too quick to
say it is useless. That poetry will put him in the history books. Their need for gossip overrides the fact
that her brother has feelings and would not appreciate the slander against his

The Color Purple Film Critique
The Color Purple is a 1985 drama film directed by Steven Spielberge that centers around the story of a
poor southern, Black woman, Cellie Harris who overcomes years of racism, sexism, and
physical/verbal abuse from the men in her life like her own father and husband. As she lives her life as
a slave to her husband, she meets two strong black women along the way that gives her the comfort
and self empowerment to finally stand up for herself and not to give in to her husband s abuse. Cellie s
new inner confidence also helps her to reconnect with her long lost sister, Nettie and her two children

So owning one s land had become the biggest goal for many Blacks to pursue since they saw it as the
only path for their properity. As more and more Blacks gained economic power through land
ownership, the Whites did anything as possible to reclaim their superiority over the Blacks. They did
this by passing the separate but equal rule, where the Blacks were not allowed to sit or be in places
assigned as whites only . They tried to deprive their voting rights by assigning a poll tax and a literacy
test to their vote, which many Blacks were not able to afford themselves of. Also, by the 1920s, a very
strong anti Black organization had formed throughout the south who had called themselves by name,
Ku Klux Klan. Many Blacks had found it easier to establish all Black communities, especially around
the church settings. By the 1930s, the Great Depression causes President Roosevelt to form welfare
programs in Georgia like the Civilian Conservation Corps, which gave many Black men newer
opportunities of work. As the economy got better in the 1940s, the options for women and especially
African American women hasn t changed for the better. Most women found jobs as being maids and
cooks for a household. Almost half of white households in the south hired a black woman to be their
maid. Very few Blacks were able work as ministers, doctors,

Dalton Conley Social Inequality
Social inequality can practically be made apparent at any moment of someone s life whether at work
or school amongst peers or simply watching the news in the morning. According to Dalton Conley,
social inequality is narrowly defined as a condition in which a difference in wealth, power, prestige, or
status based on nonnatural conventions exist (2017 p.241). Moreover, social inequality is a process
whereby society can determine how a class of people is expected to coexist within predetermined
social, political, and economic boundaries. The affected class will live within the predefined
constraints, and the affected class will then pass the predefined constraints on to future generations. It
is imperative to understand that social inequality is a result of social stratification, which according to

Although most people in the United States of America do not live in an upper class household, this
term is often correlated with income, wealth, power, and prestige. In fact, approximately one percent
of the U.S. population is considered to fall in this stratum (2017 p.260). Nevertheless, the middle class
are the rulers of the United States of America. Per Conley, the middle class is a term commonly used
to describe those individuals with nonmanual jobs that pay significantly more than the poverty line
though this is a highly debated and expansive category, particularly in the United States of America,
where broad swathes of the population consider themselves middle class (2017 p.262). In particular,
the middle class is often correlated with white collar workers, such as accountants, teachers, and
attorneys. An abundant number of families in the United States of America are considered to be poor.
In accordance with Conley, in 2015, the poverty line for a family of four was $24,250 (2017

School Is East Campus At Rappahannock Hall
Purpose:
The goal of this proposal is recommend that the school makes east campus while including
Rappahannock hall to no longer be dry residence hall for those twenty one in age and older to try and
decrease the high DUI rate here at CNU.
Summary:
CNU student currently must go off campus to consume alcohol no matter the age leaving them to find
a ride or most of the time, drive. This leaves the students at a high risk of drinking too much and then
driving home from said off campus location. As a twenty one year old individual the law gives you the
right to drink and as college students no matter your affiliation or social openness students will drink.
Some students may end up drinking more than others but in the end a student will drink in his/her
college career and CNU forces students to do this off campus making things less safe for the
individual. At CNU they have such a strict dry residence hall regulation that it is possible that one time
you get in trouble you are kicked out of school. Due to the regulations students go off campus to a bar
or a friends house to consume alcohol. Most survey recipients say they often drive to said location to
drink and then because it is most convenient drive themselves home. Most students reported that when
they received their DUI that they were blowing between .09 .11 slightly above the legal limit but still a
DUI. The students when surveyed most said they would have rather just drank in their room so they

Aristophanes Clouds Is A Social Commentary On The Nature...
Aristophanes Clouds is a social commentary on the nature of justice as it pertains to the philosophic
life within the city disguised as a crude theatrical comedy. The protagonist Strepsiades is overcome by
debt due to his son Pheidippides obsession with horsemanship, and Strepsiades seeks the help of local
philosopher Socrates in order to learn the art of deceptive speaking so that he may trick his creditors
and not give anyone back even an obol of those debts (120). Although the play is filled with vulgar
humor on the surface, Aristophanes uses the dialogue to examine the dangers of the philosophical life
and its effect on the city. Through the story of Strepsiades, Aristophanes leads his audience to the
conclusion that the philosophic life and those who partake in it are a danger to the city because of their
blatant disregard for the gods and the traditional customs of Athens.
At the opening of the play, Strepsiades begins with an invocation to Zeus the King! (2). Upon arrival
to Socrates Thinkery, Strepsiades begs Socrates to teach him how to win both just and unjust causes
by speaking in order to have his debts forgiven without having to pay them back (98), and swears by
the gods that he will pay Socrates (246). However, Socrates informs Strepsiades that Zeus does not
even exist , nor do any other gods (367). Before this, Strepsiades had acknowledged his fear of Zeus
punishment and the thunderbolt that made him fear and tremble , but Strepsiades no

When the European settlers came over and started taking over the land, it served as a turning point of
the Ojibwe culture and the way that they practiced their ways. When the Europeans came over, Oona
and her relatives were forced to pack up and move their things twice. The land that belonged to them
their whole lives were being taken over by settlers that thought they found the land. After they had
moved, they were forced to start living the way that the new settlers were. While the children were
learning the new ways, the adults were as well. Oona s father had gone to a lumber camp to work. He
went to try and earn enough money to build the kinds of houses that the new settlers had already built
for themselves. The Native woman began to learn the household needs, and the English language as
well. They made clothes similar to the new settlers, and even friended many of them. The way of life
that they were once used to was becoming just a speck in their memories. As the generation passes,
Oona always remembered to tell the children of how life used to be, and the traditions that were
practiced. She recognized that the children would bring the culture with them in the generations to
come, but it would never be as traditional as it once was. Oona s family coped with the changes by

Examples Of Allegory In Beowulf
The Allegory of the Dragon in Beowulf
In the Book of the Apocalypse, Rome is represented by several allegories: the beast of the land, the
beast from the sea, the harlot, Babylon, and the dragon. The Beowulf poet also manipulates the dragon
allegory to represent Rome, but his dragon represents not Rome, pure and simple, but a hostile area of
the (former) Roman empire, the Romanized Britain or the Roman British .
There is increasing consensus among critics against Tolkien s views that the dragon is a different sort
of creature from the Grendel tribe (Gang 6) and that among the innumerable dragon stories there is
probably not one which we can declare to be really identical with that of Beowulf (Chambers 97). Of
course, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Therefore, there are several reasons for Beowulf s taking up of arms against the dragon: defense of the
country, vengeance, and punishment: With his live coals the fiery dragon had utterly destroyed all the
coastline and nation s impregnable fortress, the stronghold of that region; the warlike king, the prince
of the Wederas, planned to take revenge on him for this (2333 36).
Though the dragon is in many ways different from Grendel, he is in some ways very much like
Grendel: he too hates the Geats and humbles them (2318 19); he, too, harms the Geats and even
destroys the royal hall of Beowulf (2325 26), while Grendel is not allowed to approach Hrothgar s
gifstol (168 169). The dragon, like Grendel (166 167), is also a ruler of the land only during dark
nights (2210 11). Both have heathen associations: Grendel is heathen (852, 986); the dragon, though
not called heathen specifically by the poet, guards, however, the treasure of the heathen (2276 77,
2216).[17]
The poet indicates the quasi indigenous character of the dragon by saying that he has guarded the
treasure for some three hundred years (2278 79); in other words, he is not merely a foreign force like
Grendel Rome nor an intruder like the thief from the Germanic kingdom (2214 25). By limiting the
dragon s presence on the British soil to three hundred years, the poet seems to suggest that the British
themselves came from elsewhere as the Anglo Saxons

The Mafia is also a key suspect in this assassination. Especially Carlos Marcello, who was the mob

Kennedy s brother (Sherer April 1991). Robert Kennedy focused much of his time on getting rid of
organized crime, and he did a pretty good job. In the Web Site Who Murdered JFK and Why?
Marcello was quoted saying that President Kennedy was like a dog and Bobby Kennedy was his tail.
The dog will keep biting you if you only cut off its tail, but cut off the head and the dog will die, tail

then Robert Kennedy wouldn t be able to keep going after the mob. Another Mafia boss, Santos

Dr. Martha Bernal focused not only on younger children, but students ages 18 and up who were
looking at potential colleges. She conducted a study to show that the pictures and information
provided in school packet materials mailed to prospective students had a large impact on the
likelihood of them contacting the school for more information. The article titled Use of Application
Materials for Recruitment of Ethnic Minority Students in Psychology questioned on page 818 whether
these packets are equally effective in recruiting ethnic minority applicants (Bernal, Barron Leary,
1983) as they are in attracting white applicants. The hypothesis explored the idea that programs which
stated a higher proportion of ethnic minority grad students would be judged as having a higher chance
of recruiting ethnic minorities. Specifically, Dr. Martha Bernal explored how clinical psychology
programs in the United States displayed diversity within the packets mailed out to prospective
students.
The set up involved mailing out a letter to 107 programs offered across the US which were accredited
at the time, in which a fictitious student requested brochures and other materials about the clinical
program offered, as well as materials on the number of minorities within the program itself.
Interestingly, the fictitious girl named Ana Acres did not state her ethnicity or race, allowing the
schools to send out information based on their own judgement and not the preconceived judgement of

The s Confessions By Augustine Dismisses The Aeneid
In the first book of his Confessions, Augustine dismisses the Aeneid, describing it merely as depicting
the wanderings of some legendary fellow named Aeneas (Conf. 1.20). However, this is not the only
thing that he dismisses throughout the text. Augustine also rejects other culturally significant texts and
the work of both himself and others in his life. While he does admit there are positive lessons to learn
from each of these pursuits, Augustine argues the only texts or professions that matter are those that
bring an individual closer to God, specifically by mentioning Him and His teachings. Throughout
Confessions, Augustine, in retrospect, rejects many of the texts he came across in his life. He first
exhibits this when he describes how wrong it was to have reacted emotionally to the Aeneid. He wept
over Dido, who died pursuing her ultimate end with a sword (Conf. 1.21), while at the same time he
failed to realize he was dying by [his] alienation from [God] (Conf. 1.20). Here Augustine laments the
fact he wept over Dido s death while at the same time worsened his own condition by ignoring God
and his own sinfulness. He is highly critical of himself in the way he approached the Aeneid as a child,
describing himself as having abandoned [God] to pursue the lowest things of [God s] creation (Conf.
1.21). Because the Aeneid leads Augustine further away from God it cannot have any significance in
one s life. The Aeneid is not the only text Augustine disregards in

Parole Is The Release Of A Convicted Offender
Parole is the release of a convicted offender after he or she has completed a portion of his or her prison
sentence (Alarid Del Carmen, 2012). Probation is a form of sentence for violating the law, which
suspends the convicted offender s sentence for a period of time and releases the offender back into the
community under specific conditions (Alarid Del Carmen, 2012).
The start of probation can be linked to England s criminal law. During Henry VIII s time, harsh
sanctions were placed on adults and children for violations of the law that were sometimes minor
(New York City Government, 2015). The upper class members of the society eventually became
dissatisfied with the harsh punishments and became bothered with the change of the ... Show more

Before the mid nineteenth century offenders received determinate sentences in prison (Rank, n.d.).
Determinate sentence is a non negotiable sentence of incarceration for the specific amount of time as
required by statute for that specific crime (U.S. Legal, 2015). Determinate sentencing became
problematic because prisons were often overcrowded, which forced governors to issue pardons or
prison wardens had to randomly release inmates to make room for new intake (Rank, n.d.).
Captain Alexander Maconochie and Sir Walter Crofton are credited for implementing early parole
system in England (Rank, n.d.). Maconochie was governor of an English penal colony at Norfolk
Island (Rank, n.d.). Convicted English offenders were transported to Australia from England and from
Australia to the island; unfortunately, the conditions were extremely bad for the offenders (Rank, n.d.).
Maconochie discontinued determinate sentencing and created a mark system (Rank, n.d.). Under the
mark system , inmates could be granted release from prison based upon their hard work and good
behavior (Rank, n.d.). Inmates earned marks, which were used to buy a reduction in sentence or
goods; unfortunately, inmates had to undergo a variety of stages before they were released and the
climbing through the stages depended on the number of marks received (Rank, n.d.).
Similar to Maconochie, Sir Walter Crofton was convinced that the prison sentence should not

Gnomeo And Juliet Compare And Contrast
The Shakespeare play, Romeo and Juliet has been recreated and adapted many many times. One of the
most popular adaptations is the animated movie Gnomeo and Juliet, which is actually very similar to
the original play. They have similar characters, like the gnome Tybalt, and the gnome Benny
(Benvolio). In addition to this, both the movie and the play have almost the same plot line (a fued, a
forbidden love, a fight scene, and the feud coming to a halt at the end). On the other hand, the movie
and the play have many differences, too. The first and most noticeable difference is the fact that in
Gnomeo and Juliet nobody dies. Even Tybalt, who was seen crushed near the middle of the movie, is
seen alive again at the end. This is much less tragic

Banana is a common tropical and subtropical fruit eaten by a great number of people worldwide, it is
also regarded as main staple food crop in many developing countries. However, banana has very short
shelf life, is very easy to get decomposed and often affected by many postharvest diseases, which
cause a lot of serious impacts on banana distribution, especially for the exported bananas. Among all
the postharvest diseases of banana, crown rot is the most significant one, the rot pathogen is extremely
complex, it has been reported that there are more than ten genera cause crown rot all over the world.

that, F. semitectum and F. verticillioides have the biggest pathogenicity (Lassois et al. 2010).
3 Environment Conditions for Disease Development
The occurrence of banana crown rot is usually influenced by different per harvest sectors. The
development of disease is partly related to seasonal factor. Generally, the banana crown rot is more
often occurs during summer (March ~ September), while the rot grows slowly in the cold season
(October to February) (Lassois et al. 2010). Temperature between 25°C to 30°C is appropriate for the
fungi to grow dramatically, and the growth declines sharply when banana was stored in cool
temperature, around 13°C (Finlay and Brown 1993). Besides, geographical variation is also influence
the occurrence of crown rot, it is reported that the banana crown rot development at higher altitude
(500m) is much less than at relative lower altitude (80m) in Cameroon (Ewané et al. 2012). The
duration of time between harvesting and cooling is also of great significance when it comes to the
disease development. The recommended fruit elapsed time should be no longer than 48 hours from
harvesting to storing in refrigerator (Finlay and Brown 1993). In

Implementing The Tax System Classification Rules
On December 17, 1996, the Department of the Treasury (Treasury) finalized rules that were intended
to simplify the tax entity classification rules. These rules have become known as the check the box
regulations. Simply put, these regulations allow an eligible entity to check a box that indicates the
desired tax treatment the entity wishes to have. These new regulations signify what was a much
needed departure from the previous classification regulations, which were vague, ambiguous, and
created many disputes between taxpayers and the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). This simplification
of the entity classification rules would make it easier for such entities to gain their desired tax
treatment, which allows those entities to focus ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These new rules replace the Kintner test, which will be analyzed later in this paper. To fully
understand the effects that CTB rules have on entities tax rates, it is important to understand the
complexities of Regulation 301.7703.
Explanation of Regulation 301.7703 3
As previously mentioned, any business entity that is not required to be treated as a corporation may
choose its own classification. An entity may choose to have all of the beneficial characteristics as a
corporation, but to avoid double taxation, they may choose to be taxed as a partnership. An entity with
two or more members can be classified either as a partnership or as an association, which is taxed as a
corporation. An entity with only one member has an option to be taxed as a corporation or can choose
to be disregarded as an entity separate from its owner. That entity cannot choose partnership
classification because a partnership, by definition, has two or more partners. A disregarded entity is a
business entity with one owner that is not recognized for tax purposes as an entity separate from its
owner. Therefore, the taxpayer is treated as a sole proprietorship and the individual must report all
income and losses on their own tax return.
Foreign business organizations are categorized by default classifications and must elect to be taxed
differently on Form 8832, same as domestic entities. A foreign business entity where all owners have
limited liability will be treated as a

Iep Meeting Impacts Student Learning Essay
Performance Activity 25: Attending an IEP meeting impacts student learning by how the IEP team

allow the student to be able to meet their goal and is centered around their needs. Discussing
accommodations and modifications impacts student learning by the type and how many services the

The Health Care Crisis Of The United States Essay
Health care spending in the United States of America as a percentage of the economy has reached
astonishing heights, equating to 17.7 percent. This number is shocking when compared to other
counties; in Australia health care is 8.9 percent, in United Kingdom 9.4 percent, in Canada 11.2
percent. If the American health care system were to hypothetically become its own economy, it would
be the fifth largest in the world. While these statistics sound troubling, they lead us to look for answers
about the problems surrounding our system. The first health insurance company was created in the
1930s to give all American families an equal opportunity for hospital care and eventually led to a
nationwide economic and social controversy that erupted in the 1990s and continued to be shaped by
the government, insurance companies, doctors, and American citizens. In this paper, I will go in to
detail about the various opinions regarding the controversy, the history behind health insurance
companies, and the main dilemmas brought out by the health care crisis. Greedy insurance companies
combined with high costs of doctor visits and pharmaceutical drugs or the inefficient hospitals all over
America can only describe the beginning to this in depth crisis. Recently, the United States health care
industry has become know for the outrageous costs of insurance models, developments of various
social and health services programs, and the frequent changes in medicinal technology. One potential

  • 10. Environmental Impact And Sustainability Issues Related For... Environmental Impact and Sustainability Issues related to PBDEs In chapter fourteen of our textbook, Environment: The Science Behind The Stories, it is made clear that the United States does not use the precautionary principle approach when it comes to evaluating how toxic a substance is (Withgott Laposata, 2014, p. 382). This lack of precaution has proven to be dangerous when it comes to chemicals, especially when using polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs). PBDEs are chemically engineered flame retardants used during the manufacturing process of clothing, bedding, and many other household goods. These flame retardants work by eliminating the fire s oxygen supply, resulting in less damage to the item and a decrease in the chance of a larger fire (Hester Harrison, 2013, p. 45). While PBDEs may have been necessary during a time when there were fewer fire regulations, it is clear that the negative effects of these flame retardants outweigh the benefits in today s times. According to the journal of Environmental Science Technology (2016), the toxicity of PBDEs was first discovered in Sweden, when a study exposed an unsafe and increasing level of flame retardants in the breast milk of women. This study showed that PBDEs were potentially toxic and highly bioaccumulative, meaning that they accumulate in the body instead of being broken down. PBDEs were identified as mutagens, as well as possible carcinogens. Because of these findings, PBDEs were banned in some countries and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 12. Communism And Communism Around The World Communism Throughout the years, humans have come up with many, many ideas. Some ideas, like expressing language using symbols (writing) or a machine that could transmit sound energy using electricity (telephone) are fundamental to our everyday lives. Other ideas, such as a USB pet rock (http://www.thinkgeek.com/product/c208/), are just plain head scratching. But in 1848, Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels wrote a book about an idea that would change the world. That idea is still around the world today. The name of their book? The Communist Manifesto . Communism is a society where private property and social classes are non existent, the government owns any and all materials required to make products, and gives everyone what they need to get by. In Communism, there are no social classes. Everyone is equal to their fellow citizens. The idea of Communism became very influential in the 20th century, as it helped inspire communist revolutions in many different countries around the world. Marx believed that mankind s one issue throughout the years was a clash between different social classes. Marx isn t completely wrong when he says that. No one likes being told what to do by a group of people from the dominant social class , but Marx s idea was a bit extreme. He came to the conclusion that, Hey, if social classes are the real problem here, why don t we have a class less society? . In theory, everyone would get along and be equal. • 15. The Unicorn And The Wasp Analysis The murder mystery is a genre of literature that has been tackled by many authors over its long history. Agatha Christie is not just any author though, as her work in renovating the detective genre, has seemingly perfected the art of solving a murder. Perhaps this is why her books have been sold more than any other novelist, only being beaten out by the works of Shakespeare, and the bible. Crooked House is one of those many, many books she has authored. In it, she took the opportunity to poke fun at, and break the rules of, the very formula of the detective, that she helped make popular. One might say that Crooked House parodies the detective novel, and it is in that spirit, that the Doctor Who episode adapts the novel. The Unicorn and the Wasp is definitely a parody of the murder mystery form. Agatha Christie novels in particular are the focus of its many silly allusions, so it is not surprise that an analogy to Crooked House is formed. Not content with merely parodying her style, Doctor Who adds a splash of its style, with the typical alien occult element, that the shows is famous for. With its mash of elements of the form, and its usual flair of weird, The Unicorn and the Wasp , sees itself paying respect to a literary genius. Parody, in Leitch s terms, is an adaptation, that instead of copying a text/style, it seeks to satirize it, via subtle ways of poking at the sources elements (Leitch, pgs. 116 188). The American Flag was similar to other poems and literature at that time in that it made Americans proud of their country. Before the Era of Good Feelings, there were not many books or poems that were about America, nonetheless about American pride and nationalism. Although the play is filled with vulgar humor on the surface, Aristophanes uses the dialogue to examine the dangers of the philosophical life and its effect on the city. Through the story of Strepsiades, Aristophanes leads his audience to the conclusion that the philosophic life and those who partake in it are a danger to the city because of their blatant disregard for the gods and the traditional customs of Athens. Though the dragon is in many ways different from Grendel, he is in some ways very much like Grendel: he too hates the Geats and humbles them (2318 19); he, too, harms the Geats and even destroys the royal hall of Beowulf (2325 26), while Grendel is not allowed to approach Hrothgar s gifstol (168 169). The dragon, like Grendel (166 167), is also a ruler of the land only during dark nights (2210 11). Both have heathen associations: Grendel is heathen (852, 986); the dragon, though not called heathen specifically by the poet, guards, however, the treasure of the heathen (2276 77, 2216).[17] The poet indicates the quasi indigenous character of the dragon by saying that he has guarded the treasure for some three hundred years (2278 79); in other words, he is not merely a foreign force like Grendel Rome nor an intruder like the thief from the Germanic kingdom (2214 25). • 30. Application Materials For Recruitment Of Ethnic Minority... Dr. Martha Bernal focused not only on younger children, but students ages 18 and up who were looking at potential colleges. She conducted a study to show that the pictures and information provided in school packet materials mailed to prospective students had a large impact on the likelihood of them contacting the school for more information. The article titled Use of Application Materials for Recruitment of Ethnic Minority Students in Psychology questioned on page 818 whether these packets are equally effective in recruiting ethnic minority applicants (Bernal, Barron Leary, 1983) as they are in attracting white applicants. The hypothesis explored the idea that programs which stated a higher proportion of ethnic minority grad students would be judged as having a higher chance of recruiting ethnic minorities. Specifically, Dr. Martha Bernal explored how clinical psychology programs in the United States displayed diversity within the packets mailed out to prospective students. The set up involved mailing out a letter to 107 programs offered across the US which were accredited at the time, in which a fictitious student requested brochures and other materials about the clinical program offered, as well as materials on the number of minorities within the program itself. Interestingly, the fictitious girl named Ana Acres did not state her ethnicity or race, allowing the schools to send out information based on their own judgement and not the preconceived judgement of her ... • 31. The s Confessions By Augustine Dismisses The Aeneid In the first book of his Confessions, Augustine dismisses the Aeneid, describing it merely as depicting the wanderings of some legendary fellow named Aeneas (Conf. 1.20). However, this is not the only thing that he dismisses throughout the text. Augustine also rejects other culturally significant texts and the work of both himself and others in his life. While he does admit there are positive lessons to learn from each of these pursuits, Augustine argues the only texts or professions that matter are those that bring an individual closer to God, specifically by mentioning Him and His teachings. Throughout Confessions, Augustine, in retrospect, rejects many of the texts he came across in his life. He first exhibits this when he describes how wrong it was to have reacted emotionally to the Aeneid. He wept over Dido, who died pursuing her ultimate end with a sword (Conf. 1.21), while at the same time he failed to realize he was dying by [his] alienation from [God] (Conf. 1.20). Here Augustine laments the fact he wept over Dido s death while at the same time worsened his own condition by ignoring God and his own sinfulness. He is highly critical of himself in the way he approached the Aeneid as a child, describing himself as having abandoned [God] to pursue the lowest things of [God s] creation (Conf. 1.21). Because the Aeneid leads Augustine further away from God it cannot have any significance in one s life. The Aeneid is not the only text Augustine disregards in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 32. Parole Is The Release Of A Convicted Offender Parole is the release of a convicted offender after he or she has completed a portion of his or her prison sentence (Alarid Del Carmen, 2012). Probation is a form of sentence for violating the law, which suspends the convicted offender s sentence for a period of time and releases the offender back into the community under specific conditions (Alarid Del Carmen, 2012). The start of probation can be linked to England s criminal law. During Henry VIII s time, harsh sanctions were placed on adults and children for violations of the law that were sometimes minor (New York City Government, 2015). The upper class members of the society eventually became dissatisfied with the harsh punishments and became bothered with the change of the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Before the mid nineteenth century offenders received determinate sentences in prison (Rank, n.d.). Determinate sentence is a non negotiable sentence of incarceration for the specific amount of time as required by statute for that specific crime (U.S. Legal, 2015). Determinate sentencing became problematic because prisons were often overcrowded, which forced governors to issue pardons or prison wardens had to randomly release inmates to make room for new intake (Rank, n.d.). Captain Alexander Maconochie and Sir Walter Crofton are credited for implementing early parole system in England (Rank, n.d.). Maconochie was governor of an English penal colony at Norfolk Island (Rank, n.d.). Convicted English offenders were transported to Australia from England and from Australia to the island; unfortunately, the conditions were extremely bad for the offenders (Rank, n.d.). Maconochie discontinued determinate sentencing and created a mark system (Rank, n.d.). Under the mark system , inmates could be granted release from prison based upon their hard work and good behavior (Rank, n.d.). Inmates earned marks, which were used to buy a reduction in sentence or goods; unfortunately, inmates had to undergo a variety of stages before they were released and the climbing through the stages depended on the number of marks received (Rank, n.d.). Similar to Maconochie, Sir Walter Crofton was convinced that the prison sentence should not ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 33. Gnomeo And Juliet Compare And Contrast The Shakespeare play, Romeo and Juliet has been recreated and adapted many many times. One of the most popular adaptations is the animated movie Gnomeo and Juliet, which is actually very similar to the original play. They have similar characters, like the gnome Tybalt, and the gnome Benny (Benvolio). In addition to this, both the movie and the play have almost the same plot line (a fued, a forbidden love, a fight scene, and the feud coming to a halt at the end). On the other hand, the movie and the play have many differences, too. The first and most noticeable difference is the fact that in Gnomeo and Juliet nobody dies. Even Tybalt, who was seen crushed near the middle of the movie, is seen alive again at the end. This is much less tragic ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 34. Nevertheless, fungi of one species may have different pathogenic levels, it is reported that, F. semitectum and F. verticillioides have the biggest pathogenicity (Lassois et al. 2010). 3 Environment Conditions for Disease Development The occurrence of banana crown rot is usually influenced by different per harvest sectors. The development of disease is partly related to seasonal factor. Generally, the banana crown rot is more often occurs during summer (March ~ September), while the rot grows slowly in the cold season (October to February) (Lassois et al. 2010). Temperature between 25°C to 30°C is appropriate for the fungi to grow dramatically, and the growth declines sharply when banana was stored in cool temperature, around 13°C (Finlay and Brown 1993). Besides, geographical variation is also influence the occurrence of crown rot, it is reported that the banana crown rot development at higher altitude (500m) is much less than at relative lower altitude (80m) in Cameroon (Ewané et al. 2012). The duration of time between harvesting and cooling is also of great significance when it comes to the disease development. The recommended fruit elapsed time should be no longer than 48 hours from harvesting to storing in refrigerator (Finlay and Brown 1993). In ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 35. Implementing The Tax System Classification Rules On December 17, 1996, the Department of the Treasury (Treasury) finalized rules that were intended to simplify the tax entity classification rules. These rules have become known as the check the box regulations. Simply put, these regulations allow an eligible entity to check a box that indicates the desired tax treatment the entity wishes to have. These new regulations signify what was a much needed departure from the previous classification regulations, which were vague, ambiguous, and created many disputes between taxpayers and the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). This simplification of the entity classification rules would make it easier for such entities to gain their desired tax treatment, which allows those entities to focus ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... These new rules replace the Kintner test, which will be analyzed later in this paper. To fully understand the effects that CTB rules have on entities tax rates, it is important to understand the complexities of Regulation 301.7703. Explanation of Regulation 301.7703 3 As previously mentioned, any business entity that is not required to be treated as a corporation may choose its own classification. An entity may choose to have all of the beneficial characteristics as a corporation, but to avoid double taxation, they may choose to be taxed as a partnership. An entity with two or more members can be classified either as a partnership or as an association, which is taxed as a corporation. An entity with only one member has an option to be taxed as a corporation or can choose to be disregarded as an entity separate from its owner. That entity cannot choose partnership classification because a partnership, by definition, has two or more partners. A disregarded entity is a business entity with one owner that is not recognized for tax purposes as an entity separate from its owner. Therefore, the taxpayer is treated as a sole proprietorship and the individual must report all income and losses on their own tax return. Foreign business organizations are categorized by default classifications and must elect to be taxed differently on Form 8832, same as domestic entities. • 36. Iep Meeting Impacts Student Learning Essay Performance Activity 25: Attending an IEP meeting impacts student learning by how the IEP team evaluates and determine a student s goals, accommodations, modifications, and which RTI tier the student will be in. Discussing a student s IEP goals are designed to help the student improve on areas of improvement and to become successful. The impact on student learning when designing goals is to allow the student to be able to meet their goal and is centered around their needs. Discussing accommodations and modifications impacts student learning by the type and how many services the student receives. The type of service/s a student receives impacts how the student will meet or not meet their IEP goals and impact if student learning is evident. If the IEP team did not set accommodations and modification services, a student could fall behind, struggle more in school, and not meet their IEP goals. • 38. The Health Care Crisis Of The United States Essay Health care spending in the United States of America as a percentage of the economy has reached astonishing heights, equating to 17.7 percent. This number is shocking when compared to other counties; in Australia health care is 8.9 percent, in United Kingdom 9.4 percent, in Canada 11.2 percent. If the American health care system were to hypothetically become its own economy, it would be the fifth largest in the world. While these statistics sound troubling, they lead us to look for answers about the problems surrounding our system. The first health insurance company was created in the 1930s to give all American families an equal opportunity for hospital care and eventually led to a nationwide economic and social controversy that erupted in the 1990s and continued to be shaped by the government, insurance companies, doctors, and American citizens. In this paper, I will go in to detail about the various opinions regarding the controversy, the history behind health insurance companies, and the main dilemmas brought out by the health care crisis. Greedy insurance companies combined with high costs of doctor visits and pharmaceutical drugs or the inefficient hospitals all over America can only describe the beginning to this in depth crisis. Recently, the United States health care industry has become know for the outrageous costs of insurance models, developments of various social and health services programs, and the frequent changes in medicinal technology.
