An Insight Into Indian Regional Navigation Satelitte System
CASE STUDY INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY IN SPACE: AN INSIGHT INTO INDIAN
REGIONAL NAVIGATION SATELITTE SYSTEM There is beauty in space, and it is orderly.
There is no weather, and there is regularity. It is predictable. Just look at our little Explorer; you
can set your clock by it literally; it is more accurate than your clock. Everything in space obeys
the laws of physics. If you know these laws, and obey them, space will treat you kindly. Wernher
von Braun, quoted in Space: Reach for the Stars , Time magazine, 17 February 1958. THE
WONDERS AND MAGIC OF SPACE Outer space is mankind s common heritage, so all the
countries must have equal access to the outer space. In the past few decades science and
technology have freed from the boundaries of earth and making its way in to space. Space is
captivating! Space is huge. The universe is bigger than we can get it. The universe is large to
the point that stars bigger than our Sun or even entire systems look like little pinpoints of light
since they are so far away. Space contains all of matter and vitality that has ever existed, but then
most parts of it are completely void. In this record, when we discuss profound space, we typically
mean the boundless extends of void range between planets. Space can be excellent. The planets,
stars, systems and nebulae make effortless and vivid shapes noticeable to our telescopes. Space can
be unsafe. In profound space we would kick the bucket immediately unless ensured. Our

Screwtape Letters Analysis
The Screwtape Letters
The Screwtape Letters is a thought provoking book that details how easily humans are ensnared by
the Enemy. The enticement of the world seems so appealing to human, however, C.S. Lewis makes
it very clear that the enticement in the world is only temporary, and is ultimately a tactic of the
Enemy. Often times, temptation creeps into our minds unexpectedly, but temptation s effects are
deadly. The Enemy will stop at nothing to tempt us, but God s Word says that He will not tempt you
beyond what you can bear, and when temptation comes, God will provide a way out (1 Corinthians
10:13).
Throughout the Screwtape Letters, the character Screwtape writes letters to his nephew,
Wormwood. The reader is propelled into the life of the Patient; and Screwtape makes it clear to
Wormwood that he must stop at nothing to get the Patient from focusing on his relationship with
God, and this becomes the motivation and obsession behind every note Screwtape writes. However,
Screwtape does not only tell Wormwood to tempt the Patient in only one... Show more content on

Screwtape also tries to use lust as a distraction in the Patient s life. Being that the Patient is young
and unmarried, Screwtape is to highlight lusts to keep his burning desire to be for women, and not
for the One who gave him life. This approach was very clever, but believers must realize that the
weapons we fight with are not the weapons of this world. Not only that, but Screwtape encourages
Wormwood to not let the Patient s Christianity shine through. That being said, the Patient would
become self conscious about his relationship with God, thus getting him to focus on self. This
tactic, however, is nothing new. Satan tries nothing new, but it is important for us to know how to
resist the devil, and that is through prayer, and the reading of God s

Roman Road Christianity Essay
When Constantine was converted he had favoritism towards the church. Churches were built at
the state expense. There were lots and lot of wars and plagues that went on. So people were
ready and easily to accept an afterlife. Paul was a citizen of Rome and he could travel there
without the expense. The roman roads were better and weren t as dangerous as other roads. There
were threats of thieves and murderers. Christianitycame in when Romewas at its lowest point. The
Romans only believed in one god anyways. So that kinda helped too. The Romans were good at
obeying laws and having lots of them and it helped too. So they were easy to convert. Jesus was
born in the roman period and died in the roman period. Then in the second roman period, the holy
spirit came in. There was a poor pandemic across the empire. The huge import of slaves almost

The goth s who were just defeated by his armies regained control and the Roman s felt it
severely. The roles of the power of the west were pretty reversed instantly. There was no
organization among the armies of Justinian. The church was the only one who was able to slow
down the vacuum of power in the west. The catholic church was a major influence. The church
eventually got the same amount of power at the beginning of the renaissance. There were so
many reasons the Christianity was spread but as long as Jesus is being heard and being spoken
into the hearts of people is all that matters. God obviously had his part in all this. It wouldn t

How Does Chaucer Use Satire In The General Prologue
Chaucer effectively uses satire in the General Prologue by showing hypocrisy, selfishness, and
other shortcomings on various characters, all from different estates. He demonstrates how people
from low power levels of society can act selfishly and unethically, as well as how powerful church
officials can show deviousness and sinfulness. One of the characters from the General Prologue
that the narrator describes is the friar, who thinks the sick and poor are beneath him, and spends a
lot of time with different women. The friar listens to confessions and quickly absolves them,
however he thinks even the poor that confesses to him, should pay him money. The monk, who is
another character described by the narrator, ignores the old fashioned rules

Building Up Their Savings Over The Years
A good strategy that many use to build up their savings over the years, is to spend less than you
earn and put aside the money that is not used. This applies to expenses such as food, housing,
vehicles, as well as other expenses on one s budget. Rob Russell, a writer for Forbes Magazine,
writes in his article with the topic of investing mistakes, During your peak earning years you
should live below your means so you can set aside enough income each and every year that if
your career comes to a screeching halt that you ll be able to survive (Russell 4). Establishing a
savings account or retirement fund where money can be deposited each month or so, will help to
build up enough money to support the athlete after retirement. One will never... Show more content

With higher pays, comes more things to be taxed on. It is crucial for athletes to investigate all
options that will help them to save money. Their salaries are high, but with many people after
their money, such as family, friends, and investors, it is important to know the facts and exercise
safe money saving strategies. There are a host of strategies for reducing your tax bill from tax
free muni binds, to tax deferred retirement accounts, and even investments that offer tax shelters
to reduce the amount of your income that is actually being taxed (Russell 5). Taxes affect
everyone in different ways and with changes occurring with the United States leader and new
laws being considered, it is important to know what these taxes mean and as many ways to
reduce them. With taxes comes the tax return. The problem is that most financial advisors fail to
take your tax return into account when offering investing advise, so whether you ve signed a
multi million dollar recording contract or you re the millionaire next door, it s critical to have an
investment advisor that is also tax savvy (Russell5). With financial advice from a bank or
advisor, one will find that there are ways to keep from having many taxes deducted from their
salaries, which in turn will help the athlete s money to grow even more. While doing research, it
was discovered that along with regular financial aid for

Commerce Clause
The United States Constitution bestows to Congress the power to oversee matters involving
commerce with foreign Nations and between the several States while vesting authority to the states
to regulate intrastate commerce (U.S. Const. art. I, В§ 8, cl. 3). While the Commerce Clause of the
Constitution provides Congress with such federal authority, it does not explicitly provide a
meaning or description of the words interstate commerce. Conflicts concerning what actions and
activities constitute interstate commerce and the perceived limitations on Congress to enact
regulatory laws arose before the United StatesSupreme Court. Particularly, individuals began to rely
on the Supreme Court s rulings to verify if regulations and laws enacted by Congress pass
constitutional muster under the Commerce Clause. Over time, the Supreme Court s interpretation of
what power the Commerce Clause grants to the congress changed, thereby altering the activities,
definition, and the Congress s regulatory power of interstate commerce.... Show more content on

For instance, the Supreme Court established an expansive meaning of the word commerce, thereby
holding that the Commerce Clause allows Congress to prescribe the rules necessary for carrying
out any commercial exchange intermingled, among, and between states and nations (Gibbons v.
Ogden, 1824). Therefore, Chief Justice Marshall far reaching interpretation of the Commerce
Clause permitted Congress to regulate commerce beyond the external boundaries of a State and
into the interior when such commercial activity extends or affects other States (Gibbons v. Ogden,
1824). It is from the ruling in Gibbons v Ogden (1824) that the federal government s power to
regulate commerce expanded over the states so that rules and actions of the federal government

than illness and the increased devolution of decision making to local organisations. The need for
more partnerships and joint working arrangements between Primary Care Trust s, Local Authorities,
independent and voluntary sector organisations, was also emphasised. A new performance
framework was also implemented in April of 2005, Standards for Better Health (Department of
Health, 2004) which sets out the level of quality all organisations providing NHS care are expected
to meet (core standards) or aspire to (development standards) within UK healthcare. The standards
to which the document refers are organised within seven domains ranging from safety and
governance, to patient focus and public health and are designed to cover the full range and spectrum
of healthcare as enshrined in the Health and Social Care (Community Health and Standards) Act
2003. National Service Frameworks and National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence
guidance are integral to this standards based system, whilst The Healthcare Commission has an
ongoing and major function to play in the assessment and review of all healthcare organisations.

Katy Perry s Cultural Appropriation Of Geishas
Perry s appropriator behavior revealed her ignorance. And because of this, her Geisha style
performance has deepened people s misunderstanding to the geishas. Katy Perry neglected the
origin meaning of geishas and alter the costumes unadvisedly, which expanded people s mix of
Chinese and Japanese culture. Furthermore, Katy Perry s behavior misleads people. Most of the
Westerns consider geishas as prostitutes because of the cultural difference. A typical example can
be seen in the conversation between O Reilly and Goldberg when they discussed Katy Perry s
appropriation. Goldberg said, a geisha is a woman who was subservient to men. A geisha tries to
please men and make them happy . However, it is not true. As Julia Layton states in his article...

In fact, the charges of cultural appropriation are being hurled at every corner on the Unite.
States: the art museum, the restaurant, the movie theater, the novel and, especially, the college
campus. (Bari). I have met some appreciation in my life. As Ellison s opinion, the majority of
cultural appropriation occurs during Halloween, when people think it s acceptable to don
offensive dress. Many put on blackface, or brownface, as part of their costumes. Others simply
come up with costumes meant to insult and demean another ethnicity or culture . During the last
Halloween, I met some white people who wore in ninja outfits in college during the Halloween.
However, the outfits they wore actually did not show the real meaning of ninja. They merely
cosplayed the characters of a Japanese animation named NARUTO. The real ninja is masked, and
wear in black and looks low key. Nonetheless, the costumes they wore in were more colorful and
various. Those people do not really understand the histories of ninja, the reason why they wore in
ninja outfits was simply, they thought it was interesting. Their behavior is similar to what Katy
Perry has did. They altered others cognition to ninja as well. They may not tend to do it, but it was
no denying that they appropriated from Japanese culture. Nowadays the phenomenon is common in
Unite. States. However, nothing could be the excuse of neglecting other cultures and adopting them
in an insensible manner. It is important to note that appreciation involves respect and value. It s
okay to find things beautiful. It s better to appreciate it and learn more about it. Especially before
you put an article of clothing on. Understanding the cultures sufficiently and avoiding appropriation
are imperative before applying it. Otherwise, one s ignorance would be revealed and shows
rudeness. In a word, the situation of cultural appropriation should be

Blood Treatment Of Blood Transfusion Essay
Plasma, red blood cells, antigens, and antibodies are just some of the components of blood that
have to be studied before matching a donor and recipient for a blood transfusion. Blood
transfusion is a complex and long process that has a unique matching market of its own. In order
to see if the blood is a safe match, technicians have to check for compatible bloodtypes (the most
preferable is type O), non matching antigens, and finally cross matching to see if the antibodies
will attack the donor s cells. All of this is done in a large market with blood from hundreds of
thousands of donors. Due to the large number of options and room for the match to be ineffective
or be rejected, there are numerous problems in this market. It is possible for there to be a mix up
with the blood, or unknown factors could arise where the donor and recipient end up being a bad
mix. There is an arduous, difficult process of making a match in this market, and this causes some
problems that I will propose a few solutions for. First, there are many terms involved with blood and
transfusions that should be understood before moving onto the substance of this essay. Some of the
more important terms are antigens, antibodies, ABO groups, and Rh. Antigens are proteins
/carbohydrates that are able to be recognized by our immune systems, then foreign antigens that the
immune system detects are attacked and destroyed by antibodies. Antibodies are present in
everyone. They are molecules in the immune system

The Importance Of Faith And Belief
Human beings have an inherent faith and belief system regardless of whether they are aware of it.
It originates from traditions and upbringing and is the center of one s being. Faith and belief have
different content and methods of questioning and understanding the content. It is important to
understand the difference and not to interchange faithand belief because it can cause
misunderstandings and negative consequences. William K. Clifford and Paul Tillich define faith
and faith through descriptions of what they are, what they are not, and how one can reach good
faith and belief through asking the right questions based on types of doubt. As a result of faith and
belief being elements of the total person and the impact that one s person has on faith and belief, it
is essential to know the discrepancies between each.
According to Tillich, faith is a matter of ultimate concern that promises total fulfillment (Tillich, 1).
Concern is content that is infinite and valued at the core of human beings. Ultimate refers to
something that is put above all other values and involves sacrifice as it orients our lives to reach
an infinite goal of fulfillment. Faith is an act of the total personality (Tillich, 4). It comes from the
center of our being and includes all aspects of a person s life. Genuine faith requires existential
doubt which involves questioning even when a finite answer does not exist. It is a risk to put faith
in something that is not finite or capable of being

The army s goals establish a clear sample of developing implementation strategies, and the
importance of identifying the ERP infrastructure components. To emphasize, it is important to

Pros And Cons Of The Gilded Age
Looking at the Bigger Picture In the late 18th to the early 19th century, some people were
desperate to make money fast. Populations were growing so rapidly, and people struggled to make
enough living for their families. In conjunction, the United States tried to transition into a more
modern and efficient world. This resulted in new ideas and inventions, in hopes to make living
easier in a changing world. This period of time was known as the Gilded Age. Nineteenth century
entrepreneurs are captains of industry based on their ability to boost the economy, the standard of
living increased, and the lasting impression they made on America.
Looking at entrepreneurs as robber barons is somewhat credible because of businessmen s
tendency to claw their way to the top, despite hurting others along the way. However, on the
opposite side of the spectrum, the jobs provided by these entrepreneurs ended up helping the
American economy. Business owners were responsible for, the American economy [to grow and

surpassed them all (The Gilded Age). These owners are captains of industry because of their ability
to boost the economy and further progress America in the right direction. America started out as a
small nation, but due to mainly business, America was able to surpass even larger nations. Other

The Competency Of The Educator
Students who are taught key skills and strategies in reading instruction often develop into more
proficient readers than those who are not provided with these skills in an explicit and systematic
way. As formal reading instruction for many students commences in the foundation year of school,
it is the role of the educator to model and explain the key components of literacy to students.
Research on effective readinginstruction suggests that students benefit when they learn concepts of
print, phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension (National Reading
Panel, 2000). Moreover, reading instruction needs to be supported by effective teaching strategies
that include modelled reading aloud, shared book reading, guided... Show more content on

Through a balanced approach, educators make decisions on individual student s literacy needs and
select appropriate instructional activities with the goal of developing, value, comprehension, and
enjoyment of reading (Cowan, as cited in National Education Psychological Service [NEPS],
2015, p. 8). However, research concludes there is no definitive description of what a balanced
approach to literacy means and they all have similar elements. To put it another way, effective
educators of reading instruction offer a print rich balanced reading program that incorporates
explicit and systematic instructions in concepts of print, phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency,
vocabulary, and comprehension. These reading skills develop as educators model and scaffold
engaging activities, for instance, read aloud s, shared, guided, and independent reading, rhymes, and
songs. These activities are the underpinnings of a successful literacy program (Winch, Johnston,
March, Ljungdahl, Holliday, 2006, p. 155). A balanced reading approach also provides students
opportunities to repeat and practice skills as educators observe and assess student s abilities.
Therefore, educators must explicitly instruct literacy skills from foundation to year twelve because
they are essential to academic growth.
Explicit teaching is a systematic and carefully planned approach that effectively teaches students
the key skills of literacy.

which is incorrect as Switzerland is wedged between three countries Germany, France, Austria, and

James D. Thorne Grand Ballroom
I, Noah A. King, am about to walk into the famous James D. Thorne Grand Ballroom with my
friends Nathan and Grace. Crowds of people on both sides cheering to the top of their lungs.
Things look glorified now but, things weren t always like this. First let me introduce myself, I am
Noah Andy King and I am 16 years old. I have been classified as a very wired kid but, my mother
always told me People just don t get your way of thinking of things in life. I have all way haven t

Five years and three days ago, in a little town call Tollasend were the sky is painted all color and
never rest, Jazmine, Nathan, Grace, and myself were bowling on 13th Street. We only had a
month left of summer before we had to go back to school. As Jazmine throw her last gutter of the
game she came and sat with the rest of us to join the rest of the conversation. After a long
egotistic talk about who is the best and smartest we get on the topic of what it means to be
African American. This was a very confusing topic for us because we were surround by white
people and we have adopted their culture. An odd silent fell among us for a minute. Then, Grace
spoke hoping that the odd silent well end. Well, being black is like living in a cardboard box, Grace
explained. To this day I don t know what she meant but, being black to me... well I really don t
know what it means to be black. After the we finished our conversation we walked how our

Persuasive Essay On Jackie Robinson
Jackie Robinson known as the man who broke the color barrier, was both a hero of baseball, and
a hero for the fight against racism. He took two of the things Americans valued most: freedom
and sports, and brought them to the grand stage. When we take what Robinson did and put it in
perspective of when and where it occurred we see the true struggle, and see just how despicable
and bitter this time was. It really highlights how the search for freedom and equality coincided
with the country s fight to hold on to segregation and racism. The retelling of Robinson s story
has been retold many times from the perspective of baseball. Jack Roosevelt Johnson was born
on January 31, 1919 in Cairo Georgia, the youngest of five children during a Spanish flu and
smallpox epidemic. When Jackie was very young his father abandoned the family. Now Jackie s
mother Mollie Robinson, had to find a better life for her family. Due to Jim Crow laws Mollie
could not buy a house for her family, because they were barred from certain neighborhoods for
whites only. Despite this fact Mollie didn t care she persuaded a light skinned black man to act is
if he was buying a house in Pasadena, California. (MSR News) Then the Robinson s moved in,
whites were furious and threatened to burn them out of the house. Mollie ignored the threats and
went about her business. This strength and cunning shown b their mother showed the kids how to

at the completion of the ranking process.
From the interview with Ms. Lim, the managerial will rank their employees according to their
relative level of performance. The employees will be call upon into the office by their own
manager or even supervisor, and will be interviewed accordingly. Ranking is done on an annual
basis during the annual planning cycle, which takes place worldwide during Quarter 1. There are
three rank categories and a performance category for employees who are not ranked because they
are not consistently demonstrating the performance expected of those in similar positions. The
rank categories are:
Rank One This is the group of employees that have consistently far outperformed their peers in all
four rank criteria. They are the top performers, role models, and perceived leaders.
Rank Two These employees consistently exceed expectations. This group of employees

The Demon Lover Essay
The Demon Lover is a short story about a woman, Kathleen Drover, returning to her abandoned
home in London to collect old belongings. The moment Kathleen reached her destination at the
house, she began to feel unsettled and anxious. Kathleen s once familiar home now gave off an
unfamiliar queerness (Bowen 1). Kathleen and her family evacuated their quaint house to move to
the countryside for safety from the destruction of war. As Kathleen explores her house more, she
encounters unexpected items and occurrences. Several book critics have varying opinions on what
the moral of the story is. I believe that there can be a great number of interpretations of The Demon
Lover; however, the theme of the story is the effects that war has on civilians.... Show more content

At the beginning of the story, the readers are told that Kathleen has returned to her old house in
London to collect a few belongings. Almost immediately, the tone of the story is eerie and
uneasy. She has trouble unlocking the house and is overwhelmed by a sense of oddness as she
investigates the remains of her former home. She soon discovers a letter left on the escritoire
that was dated for the same day she had arrived. Kathleen reads the mysterious letter and soon
realizes it is a letter from her supposed dead fiancГ©, a soldier, from two decades ago (Bowen 3).
The letter is vague and she had not remembered what promise the letter had referred to. I believe
the author wants the readers to infer that the promise made was the promise for Kathleen to
marry the soldier, but when the soldier was presumed dead, Kathleen had no obligations to wait
anymore, and she could move on with her life. Mrs. Drover romanticized soldiers and I believe
she was only infatuated with the idea of her old fiancГ© and she did not love him for who he
was. When his presumed death was announced, she did not feel an enormous amount of grief, yet,
Kathleen was almost relieved. I believe Kathleen realizes that she did not love her fiancГ©, and
that she has barely even knew him before he left for the war (Bowen

Poverty In To Kill A Mockingbird
Poverty is not a topic to be pushed to the side for later conversation. It is evident in the streets and
in cities and countries, whether it is liked or not. Many children grow up not knowing the joys of
having whatever they want, whenever they want it, and do not have some necessities in life such as
correct schoolsupplies or decent clothing. Kids have to choose how they are going to deal with
their situation: some are kind and hard workers who try their best in everything they do while the
others play around, are not hard working, have no manners or etiquette, and do not care about their
appearance. Walter Cunningham and Burris Ewell from To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee,

Understanding the Similarities to Strain Theory and...
Understanding the similarities of Strain Theory, amp; General Theory of Crime Angela Sampson
# 2396467 Sociology 345: Social Control Professor: James Chriss Cleveland State University
April 30th 2012 Abstract: The purpose is to identify the similarities between Strain theories, and
General Theory of Crime. Strain was developed from the work of Durkheim and Merton and taken
from the theory of anomie. Durkheim focused on the decrease of societal restraint and the strain
that resulted at the individual level, and Merton studied the cultural imbalance that exists between
goal and the norms of the individuals of society. General Theory of Crime , In 1990 Michael R.
Gottfredson and Travis Hirschi wrote the book A General... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

In essence, general strain theory proposed that an increase in strain would lead to an increase in
anger, which may then lead to an increase in crime (Agnew, 1992:61). These previously
mentioned goals turn into strain when the individual is faced with certain disjunctions in their
life. The first of these disjunctions is the one that is the focus of previous strain theories, the
disjunction between aspirations and expectations. This is founded on the principle of culturally
bound goals and values that are accepted by everyone but yet not available to everyone. This
idea of the American Dream then causes strain and frustration in the individual who cannot
achieve this dream through legitimate means. This theory has been criticized because it does
not explain middle class crime, it only focuses monetary goals, social class is the only barrier
that is considered, and it does not specify why some turn to deviance. The loss of positively
valued stimuli Agnew s research in the stress literature led him to the discovery that the removal
of positive stimuli can also cause strain. This loss could manifest itself in the form of a death or a
broken relationship with a friend or romantic partner, or it could be a result of the theft of a valued
object. According to Agnew, the strain that is felt by the individual die to the loss could lead the
individual to delinquency as the individual attempts to prevent its loss,

Comparing Islam And Radical Islam
Islam and radical Islam are a hot topic among media outlets and dinner tables, often being confused
that they are either two different things or derivatives of early Christianity. The fact remains that
Islam and radical Islam are one and the same and, though there may be some early similarities to the
Old Testament, Islamand Christianity are as different as the clouds in the sky to a deep, barbed
pit. Though I will not be covering every facet that exists between the Bible and the Qur an, I will
be covering the so called difference between radical Islam and its moderate counterpart, abrogation
and how it works within Islam, differences between Jesusand Muhammadas figure heads, and the
ethical behavior between neighbors in relation to Islamic and Christian beliefs. Radical Islam is
a relatively new term that mainstream media, and empathizers of the Muslim faith, have
adopted to defend the ideals of Islam without calling it Islam. Radical, in this sense, would mean
either extreme or differing from the majority of the Muslim population. However, if we take a
look into the roots of Islam and the laws put in place by Muhammad hundreds of years ago, we
notice that the moderates are the true anomaly, as detailed in the non partisan work Is the Quran
Hate Propaganda (TheReligionofPeace [TROP] 2002 2006). The Qur an lists several books
pertaining to the rules of government, military, and social laws of the Muslim people, however, it
can be distilled down into three

The Pros And Cons Of Lesbianism In Audre Lorde
Lesbian, a term originating in the late 19th century, that describes homosexual women. In simpler
words, a lesbian is a woman identified woman who is either sexually, or emotionally attracted to
other woman identified women. Identifying as a lesbian means preparing yourself to be accepted
by some of society, while looked down upon and ridiculed by others, it can mean different things
for different individuals, but one thing remains the same, being lesbian comes with certain
experiences, both good and bad that you otherwise would not experience. The whole lesbian
discussion becomes more complex as we add in different intersections ranging from class, social
status, to race. This brings up the whole concept of intersectionality which describes multiple layers
of oppression that exposes individuals to systems of discrimination and leaves them at a
disadvantage. However, intersectionality is a conversation that could continue on for eternity
probably introducing more interdependent systems than the ones I mentioned. Due to the
complexity of the matter, I would like to focus on and explore just one of the intersections of
lesbians that I find most intriguing: lesbians in relation to race. Being a Black lesbian helps shape
many individuals into who they are. The black lesbian experience most certainty helped shape
Audre Lorde, and developed her into the women that she came to be.
In order to clearly analyze how the black lesbian experience shaped Lorde, I am going to be

Comparing The Accounts Of Eros In Plato s Symposium
The Accounts of Eros in the quot;Symposium quot;
The word love carries with it many, many different interpretations. In modern day, our views on
what is appropriate love is much different from the views from the time of Socrates and Plato. To
them love was eros, a direct translation of the word love.
However, the word itself wasn t the only thing that was different about love. In
Plato s quot;Symposium quot;, there is a celebration for Agathon. He had just won a dramatic
contest in Athens, Greece two nights ago. It is customary to drink much wine at these gatherings,
however, every one present is too weak from the night before. (Nehamas amp; Woodruff, pg. xiii)

She speaks of the way Love was conceived, a clever scheme by a god to escape her misfortunes. It
seems the goddess of poverty,
Penia laid down beside Poros and became pregnant with Love (Nehamas amp; Woodruff, pg.48)
This makes Love unique. Love is good, though, because he is a lover of wisdom, that is, he
pursues the notion of philosophy. But, he is in between wisdom and ignorance (Nehamas amp;
Woodruff, pg. 49), according to Diotima, which is much different an account from the other
speakers. Phaedrus had placed Love at the top of all gods, describing ways in which Love
quot;breathes might into some of the heroes, quot; (Nehamas amp; Woodruff, pg. 10). This is
untrue. However, Diotima speaks of ways in which love helps human beings. This happens when
the love for things like sports or poetry helps a person create something from nothing. Love is a
word used to describe the whole, where there are special parts of love used to describe specific
passions and possessions. (Nehamas amp; Woodruff, pg. 51). And love is wanting to posses the
good forever (Nehamas amp; Woodruff, pg. 52) Finally we see the main points in Diotima s
argument when she accurately describes the real purpose of love. It is almost like a natural
instinct. All animals, including humans, have a need to reproduce. The real purpose in love is
giving birth in beauty, whether in body or soul (Nehamas amp; Woodruff, pg.53). This means that

Chatterje Psychodynamic Theories Of Social Work
Introduction
Human behavior has been described and understood from a multitude of perspectives, which have
been furthered developed into many theories over time. These theories provide the framework for
social work. Social workers must have a firm understanding of human behavior in order to fully
understand a client and the various challenges they may experience. The following paper discusses
several of these theories and how they relate to the field of social work.
Systems Theory People aren t one dimensional; they form in depth, complex relationships in a
multitude of environments, and interact within these environments which we call systems. These
systems are interrelated and form the unique experience of each individual, and therefore, can be
helpful or hurtful in the change process. Systems theory is not only a singular construct but rather
an underlying component for many theories that vary greatly in their application (Robbins, ... Show

The first is its focus on childhood experiences. Sigmund Freud believed that the development of the
psyche depended on the way children navigated through various phases of development: The oral

experiences in childhood drive their behavior as adults (Robbins, Chatterjee Canda, 2012). A second
key concept is based on the unconscious and preconscious, and how it motivates an individual s
behavior. According to Robbins et al. (2012), The unconscious is the part of the mind that holds

preconscious holds ideas, thoughts, and memories that we are not currently thinking of, but if we

piece consisted of the 3 movements, Allegro, Andante, and Presto, which follows the fast slow fast
arrangement typical of the Classical era. Divertimento is one of Mozart s Salzburg symphonies,
which are symphonies performed by only string sections. After the performance of this piece, the
conductor commented on the 2nd violins part, and drew the conclusion that Mozart must have
saved that role for either himself or an enemy. The second piece performed by the Chamber
Orchestra was Bach s Suite No. 2 in B minor , BWV 1067. This piece did not require a conductor,
and also featured a flute soloist, Maisa Peters. Their

Personal Perspective On The Disney Animated Film Aladdin
Personal Perspective
At first glance, the website home page for the Disney animated film Aladdin displays the
emotion of excitement. I find Disney visuals very interesting to analyze because of the dynamic
visuals used in terms of color, shape, and animation. The site has so many central aspects of
visual valor that draw in the user. This webpage has several different eye catching points within
it. My eye is first drawn to Aladdin and Jasmine gazing into the distance with excited eyes, flying
on their magic carpet. My eye then goes to notice the sky in the background with the fiery colors
of red and yellow, creating the feeling of excitement, as well as creating a sun setting scene.
Then my eye is drawn to the big blue off to the side of the site with an enthusiastic facial
expression. I also notice that the site is very well put together. It is organized in a way that is
clear and easy to navigate, making it possible even for children to figure their way around the site.
This site has so much going on in it, but not too much to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

He is the same lyricist that worked on the famous Disney animated films The Little Mermaid and
Beauty and the Beast (norlinreelhistory.blogspot.com). Ashman and his college Alan Menken began
writing songs for the proposed film before the film idea was even confirmed. Shortly after the
films proposal by Ashman, the screenplay Linda Wooverton signed on to work on producing the
film, as well as directors Ron Clements and John Musker. What is interesting to note is out of
three proposed film projects including Swan Lake and King of the Jungle, the directors chose to
pursue Aladdin. Musker and Clements worked on the first draft of the screenplay that had to be
re written because it didn t engage . Ted Elliot and Terry Rossio wrote the second and final copy
of the screenplay for the film, and only then was it given the ok for

How is Seamus Heaney s Irish Rural Heritage Reflected In...
How is Seamus Heaney s Irish Rural Heritage Reflected In his Poetry.
Seamus Heaney was born and grew up in the Irish countryside on his fathers farm. His father was
still using the traditional farming methods, which had been handed down for generations, even
though technology had developed greatly in the early twentieth century.
Heaney learns a lot from his father about farming and how generations of his family have done it.
Heaney takes a great interest in it and he admires his father s skill in working the horses. These
memories give
Heaney a great deal to write about. The poems that I am going to study are Digging , Follower , At

Naturalist . Heaney s memories and thoughts from childhood ... Show more content on

By God, the old man could handle a spade.
This shows how Heaney looked up to his father. Heaney also mentions how his grandfather was a
great digger too.
My grandfather cut more turf in a day.
This poem is showing how digging has been done for generations in
Heaney s family. But Heaney couldn t dig like them.
But I ve no spade to follow men like them.
He feels like he is a disappointment to his father and family, and he feels disappointment in himself
too. Heaney still does dig though, but in a different way. He digs with words.
Follower is similar to Digging in a lot of ways because Heaney is again using childhood memories
to show the admiration for his father.
Heaney describes, with some admiration, his father s skill in working the horse drawn plough.
The sod rolled over without breaking.
This shows how he remembers his father s expertise in ploughing. This poem is written in the same
way as Digging because both show how
Heaney s heritage plays a key focus in his poetry. Follower also shows the strength of Heaney s
father.
With a single pluck.
This shows how his father doesn t struggle, which is the mark of an expert. He also describes his
father s power and strength.
Broad shadow.
The broadness of his shoulders is showing his power and strength.
Follower unlike Digging tells the reader how Heaney followed his father around the

Abraham Lincoln s Second Inaugural Address
The pattern of the prodigal is: rebellion, ruin, repentance, reconciliation, restoration (Edwin Louis
Cole). Abraham Lincoln s Second Inaugural Address is a speech that highlights every point in
Cole s quote. He, Lincoln, talks about how the south manages to rebel, how their economy will be
left in ruin, how they will repent and be forgiven by both God and the North, how the North and the
South will reconcile, and finally he talks of how the nation will move on to restoration. Abraham
Lincolns Second Inaugural Address emphasizes the reconciliation of a torn apart nation by
appealing to pathos, logos, and ethos and by using diction to appeal to the listener s emotion.
The American Civil Warbegan on April 12, 1861 when the Southern United States seceded from
the union. The first battle, taking only thirty four hours, caused Lincoln to officially rally troops
against the South. Most Northern Americans would eventually learn to love Lincoln s courage;
however, many Southern Americans would despise Lincoln. Throughout the civil war many
lives were lost, and many families were torn apart. Lincoln would remain a strong figure
throughout the war. He would give his people hope, he would give his people courage, and he
would give his people strength. Around the time the Civil War was drawing to a close, Lincoln
was being reelected. The general of the Confederacy, Robert E. Lee, surrendered after a battle in
Virginia. His troops surrendered in April, a little over a

Satire In The Handmaid s Tale
Margaret Atwood in The Handmaid s Tale Margaret Atwood illustrates how a dystopian society
ruled by the commanders of Gilead has completely removed every aspect of independence from
society. The Handmaid s Tale has become increasingly significant in the 21st century because of
the similarities between the way women are being oppressed now as well as the gradual incline
towards the removal of many of our freedoms such as the right to have an abortion. Atwoods
representation of oppression are becoming more noticeable in 2017 through the media and the rise
in peaceful protesting for our basic freedoms and women s rights which are being removed slowly
but surely through new unjust laws. Margaret Atwoods use of satire in her dystopian novel, The...

In Gilead they have what is called a theocracy which is where state and religion is not divided.
This leads to society speaking using religious terminology and biblical references because it is
an easy way to say that their rules were created by God. An example of this can be seen when the
handmaid s greet each other with terms such as Under His Eye and Blessed be the Fruit which
originates from the bible and are used as a form of speech in between the people of Gilead. Atwood
makes sure to include religion throughout the novel to represent the way that we sometimes blindly
follow religion and allow for it to guide us completely without truly understanding the meaning

The Theme Of Identity In John Knowles A Separate Peace
John Knowles wrote A Separate Peace in 1959, introducing readers to a new perspective to World
War II in a harrowing and luminous way. He places the two main characters, Gene Forrester, and
his friend, Phineas at an all boys academy called Devon at the time of World War II, introducing
themes of identity, warfare, and friendship. Knowles sets the theme of identity before Gene pushes
Phineas off the tree by introducing the personalities of both Gene and Phineas. Phineas is, the best
athlete in school (John Knowles20) with an average build and height of 5 81/2, good looking,
charismatic, and perfect in almost any way (Knowles 21) while Gene is, thoughtful and intelligent
(Knowles 32). Nevertheless, he is envious and competitive of Phineas.

I am writing you to express my interest in graduate studies at Saint Joseph s University. I am
interested in the Online Master s degree in Criminal Justice with a concentration in Behavior
Analysis.

child. However, I have over 6 months experience working with Autistic children. My current client
is low functioning, nonverbal, and displays aggressive behavior. I work 41hrs in the school setting,

I had a B.S degree in Psychology, but no experience working with children. I began my search in
Therapeutic support service for experience. I landed a position as a Therapeutic Support Staff in
an Autistic support class. Prior to working with autistic children I wanted to pursue a career in
occupational therapy. I thought working as a therapeutic support staff would give me the
experience I needed. I also thought TSS would provide me with the opportunity to see if
occupational therapy was still my heart s desire. After a few months into the position and
working with and around Autistic children I developed curiosity about the causes of behavior. I
became very drawn to the different levels of the Autistic children in the classroom. I started to
develop the curiosity about the cause of each individual s behavior in the classroom. As the
months passed my interest in occupational therapy changed. I no longer possessed the desire to
become and occupational therapist, but the desire to work with Autistic children was still there.
My career interest was still in the behavior health field but just a different area of focus. I wanted
to choose a career path that would allow me opportunity to help other s reach their full potential. I
want to find out why children engage in behaviors and form a plan to modify the behaviors. Also
the opportunity to explore the environment that may contribute to the behavior. I researched and
chose Criminal Justice behavior Analysis Concentration. A master s degree in Criminal justice
Behavior Analysis concentration would provide me with many career opportunities. I would have
the options to explore different populations. I am a very compassionate person with a strong desire

Aldi Store Analysis
On Friday after class, I went to the ALDI store in Anderson to make a purchase and to get some
observations. I ended up buying some Kraft cheese and FitoBit water. The water was some kind
of fitness water with low sodium; it didn t taste so well. I ve never been nor shopped out of
ALDI so this definitely was an eye opener to me. As I walked in, I noticed the store was very
small and cluttered. Everything was stacked on top of each other and very close with barely any
walking space. There were no aisles to designate you to your product. You simply had to keep
walking around to find what you need; it was like looking for a needle in a haystack. As I can
continue to walk through out the store, I noticed some designs on packages that looked similar
to Chips Ahoy, but it was not that brand. It was a lower level brand with a similar design. They
even had packages that look like it could be Oreos, Quakers, Kraft and more. The name of the
brand that ALDI have mainly in its stores is Benton s . There is another brand that I noticed
called, Millville. One thing that stood out to me as I was strolling the store was the fact that
everything was at a lower price... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

of people. At the register, you can see the employees sitting down in chairs ringing the groceries

to sit down while working on the clock. They did not have baggers at to bag your groceries
either, instead, they had a cart at the end that they would place your groceries into. You would
just pick your groceries up out of the cart and instead of taking the cart, which is the usual activity
people would do. There was not anything for you to put your groceries in, you had to bring your
own tote bag to carry your groceries out or use another

There is no weather, and there is regularity. It is predictable. Just look at our little Explorer; you can set your clock by it literally; it is more accurate than your clock. Everything in space obeys the laws of physics. If you know these laws, and obey them, space will treat you kindly. Wernher von Braun, quoted in Space: Reach for the Stars , Time magazine, 17 February 1958. THE WONDERS AND MAGIC OF SPACE Outer space is mankind s common heritage, so all the countries must have equal access to the outer space. In the past few decades science and technology have freed from the boundaries of earth and making its way in to space. Space is captivating! Space is huge. The universe is bigger than we can get it. The universe is large to the point that stars bigger than our Sun or even entire systems look like little pinpoints of light since they are so far away. Space contains all of matter and vitality that has ever existed, but then most parts of it are completely void. In this record, when we discuss profound space, we typically mean the boundless extends of void range between planets. Space can be excellent. The planets, stars, systems and nebulae make effortless and vivid shapes noticeable to our telescopes. Space can be unsafe. In profound space we would kick the bucket immediately unless ensured. • 4. Screwtape Letters Analysis The Screwtape Letters The Screwtape Letters is a thought provoking book that details how easily humans are ensnared by the Enemy. The enticement of the world seems so appealing to human, however, C.S. Lewis makes it very clear that the enticement in the world is only temporary, and is ultimately a tactic of the Enemy. Often times, temptation creeps into our minds unexpectedly, but temptation s effects are deadly. The Enemy will stop at nothing to tempt us, but God s Word says that He will not tempt you beyond what you can bear, and when temptation comes, God will provide a way out (1 Corinthians 10:13). Throughout the Screwtape Letters, the character Screwtape writes letters to his nephew, Wormwood. The reader is propelled into the life of the Patient; and Screwtape makes it clear to Wormwood that he must stop at nothing to get the Patient from focusing on his relationship with God, and this becomes the motivation and obsession behind every note Screwtape writes. However, Screwtape does not only tell Wormwood to tempt the Patient in only one... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Screwtape also tries to use lust as a distraction in the Patient s life. Being that the Patient is young and unmarried, Screwtape is to highlight lusts to keep his burning desire to be for women, and not for the One who gave him life. This approach was very clever, but believers must realize that the weapons we fight with are not the weapons of this world. Not only that, but Screwtape encourages Wormwood to not let the Patient s Christianity shine through. That being said, the Patient would become self conscious about his relationship with God, thus getting him to focus on self. This tactic, however, is nothing new. Satan tries nothing new, but it is important for us to know how to resist the devil, and that is through prayer, and the reading of God s ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Roman Road Christianity Essay When Constantine was converted he had favoritism towards the church. Churches were built at the state expense. There were lots and lot of wars and plagues that went on. So people were ready and easily to accept an afterlife. Paul was a citizen of Rome and he could travel there without the expense. The roman roads were better and weren t as dangerous as other roads. There were threats of thieves and murderers. Christianitycame in when Romewas at its lowest point. The Romans only believed in one god anyways. So that kinda helped too. The Romans were good at obeying laws and having lots of them and it helped too. So they were easy to convert. Jesus was born in the roman period and died in the roman period. Then in the second roman period, the holy spirit came in. There was a poor pandemic across the empire. The goth s who were just defeated by his armies regained control and the Roman s felt it severely. The roles of the power of the west were pretty reversed instantly. There was no organization among the armies of Justinian. The church was the only one who was able to slow down the vacuum of power in the west. The catholic church was a major influence. The church eventually got the same amount of power at the beginning of the renaissance. Conflicts concerning what actions and activities constitute interstate commerce and the perceived limitations on Congress to enact regulatory laws arose before the United StatesSupreme Court. Particularly, individuals began to rely on the Supreme Court s rulings to verify if regulations and laws enacted by Congress pass constitutional muster under the Commerce Clause. Many put on blackface, or brownface, as part of their costumes. Others simply come up with costumes meant to insult and demean another ethnicity or culture . During the last Halloween, I met some white people who wore in ninja outfits in college during the Halloween. However, the outfits they wore actually did not show the real meaning of ninja. They merely cosplayed the characters of a Japanese animation named NARUTO. The real ninja is masked, and wear in black and looks low key. Nonetheless, the costumes they wore in were more colorful and various. Blood Treatment Of Blood Transfusion Essay Plasma, red blood cells, antigens, and antibodies are just some of the components of blood that have to be studied before matching a donor and recipient for a blood transfusion. Blood transfusion is a complex and long process that has a unique matching market of its own. In order to see if the blood is a safe match, technicians have to check for compatible bloodtypes (the most preferable is type O), non matching antigens, and finally cross matching to see if the antibodies will attack the donor s cells. All of this is done in a large market with blood from hundreds of thousands of donors. Due to the large number of options and room for the match to be ineffective or be rejected, there are numerous problems in this market. It is possible for there to be a mix up with the blood, or unknown factors could arise where the donor and recipient end up being a bad mix. There is an arduous, difficult process of making a match in this market, and this causes some problems that I will propose a few solutions for. As a result of faith and belief being elements of the total person and the impact that one s person has on faith and belief, it is essential to know the discrepancies between each. Understanding the similarities of Strain Theory, amp; General Theory of Crime Angela Sampson # 2396467 Sociology 345: Social Control Professor: James Chriss Cleveland State University April 30th 2012 Abstract: The purpose is to identify the similarities between Strain theories, and General Theory of Crime. Strain was developed from the work of Durkheim and Merton and taken from the theory of anomie. Durkheim focused on the decrease of societal restraint and the strain that resulted at the individual level, and Merton studied the cultural imbalance that exists between goal and the norms of the individuals of society. General Theory of Crime , In 1990 Michael R. Gottfredson and Travis Hirschi wrote the book A General... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In essence, general strain theory proposed that an increase in strain would lead to an increase in anger, which may then lead to an increase in crime (Agnew, 1992:61). These previously mentioned goals turn into strain when the individual is faced with certain disjunctions in their life. The first of these disjunctions is the one that is the focus of previous strain theories, the disjunction between aspirations and expectations. This is founded on the principle of culturally bound goals and values that are accepted by everyone but yet not available to everyone. This idea of the American Dream then causes strain and frustration in the individual who cannot achieve this dream through legitimate means. This theory has been criticized because it does not explain middle class crime, it only focuses monetary goals, social class is the only barrier that is considered, and it does not specify why some turn to deviance. The loss of positively valued stimuli Agnew s research in the stress literature led him to the discovery that the removal of positive stimuli can also cause strain. This loss could manifest itself in the form of a death or a broken relationship with a friend or romantic partner, or it could be a result of the theft of a valued object. According to Agnew, the strain that is felt by the individual die to the loss could lead the individual to delinquency as the individual attempts to prevent its loss, ... • 32. Comparing Islam And Radical Islam Islam and radical Islam are a hot topic among media outlets and dinner tables, often being confused that they are either two different things or derivatives of early Christianity. The fact remains that Islam and radical Islam are one and the same and, though there may be some early similarities to the Old Testament, Islamand Christianity are as different as the clouds in the sky to a deep, barbed pit. Though I will not be covering every facet that exists between the Bible and the Qur an, I will be covering the so called difference between radical Islam and its moderate counterpart, abrogation and how it works within Islam, differences between Jesusand Muhammadas figure heads, and the ethical behavior between neighbors in relation to Islamic and Christian beliefs. Radical Islam is a relatively new term that mainstream media, and empathizers of the Muslim faith, have adopted to defend the ideals of Islam without calling it Islam. Radical, in this sense, would mean either extreme or differing from the majority of the Muslim population. However, if we take a look into the roots of Islam and the laws put in place by Muhammad hundreds of years ago, we notice that the moderates are the true anomaly, as detailed in the non partisan work Is the Quran Hate Propaganda (TheReligionofPeace [TROP] 2002 2006). In simpler words, a lesbian is a woman identified woman who is either sexually, or emotionally attracted to other woman identified women. Identifying as a lesbian means preparing yourself to be accepted by some of society, while looked down upon and ridiculed by others, it can mean different things for different individuals, but one thing remains the same, being lesbian comes with certain experiences, both good and bad that you otherwise would not experience. The whole lesbian discussion becomes more complex as we add in different intersections ranging from class, social status, to race. This brings up the whole concept of intersectionality which describes multiple layers of oppression that exposes individuals to systems of discrimination and leaves them at a disadvantage. However, intersectionality is a conversation that could continue on for eternity probably introducing more interdependent systems than the ones I mentioned. Due to the complexity of the matter, I would like to focus on and explore just one of the intersections of lesbians that I find most intriguing: lesbians in relation to race. Being a Black lesbian helps shape many individuals into who they are. The black lesbian experience most certainty helped shape Audre Lorde, and developed her into the women that she came to be. She speaks of the way Love was conceived, a clever scheme by a god to escape her misfortunes. It seems the goddess of poverty, Penia laid down beside Poros and became pregnant with Love (Nehamas amp; Woodruff, pg.48) This makes Love unique. Love is good, though, because he is a lover of wisdom, that is, he pursues the notion of philosophy. But, he is in between wisdom and ignorance (Nehamas amp; Woodruff, pg. 49), according to Diotima, which is much different an account from the other speakers. Phaedrus had placed Love at the top of all gods, describing ways in which Love quot;breathes might into some of the heroes, quot; (Nehamas amp; Woodruff, pg. 10). This is untrue. However, Diotima speaks of ways in which love helps human beings. This happens when the love for things like sports or poetry helps a person create something from nothing. Love is a word used to describe the whole, where there are special parts of love used to describe specific passions and possessions. (Nehamas amp; Woodruff, pg. 51). And love is wanting to posses the good forever (Nehamas amp; Woodruff, pg. 52) Finally we see the main points in Diotima s argument when she accurately describes the real purpose of love. It is almost like a natural instinct. All animals, including humans, have a need to reproduce.
