High school is full of a variety of types of people, who can all be labeled into certain groups or

At the beginning Eudora Welty explains that in the story A Worn Path her character, Phoenix Jackson,
goes on a long journey on foot while also being very old. There are clues that she has been on this
journey several times and the purpose of it is to get medicine for her sick grandson. We are never sure
of the condition of the grandson nor do we see him as a character in the story. In this story the path she
takes what seems like more than a mile walk, but she still pushes through all of the hardships that she
comes across. She meets many characters along her walk like a dog, hunter, lady, attendant, and the
nurse. Her determination is very high, and she seeks to get her job done no matter what happens to
her. The time takes place close to Christmas, which makes this story kind of biblical. The Bible is a
good source to this story because of its reference to Moses and his journeys. They compare Phoenix

I can not wait to learn new things in your class this year. I am ready to read lots of new books and

Overall Las Vegas was probably the best part of my summer and I am lucky to have an amazing
family to enjoy it with. Other than the two trips I went on this summer, I did not do a lot because my
