Solar System Advantages
There are many different items that make up the solar system, and they are all classified very
differently. Two of the most important items in our solar system are the planets and the moons. They
differ in geologic activity, composition, interior structure, magnetic fields, and atmospheres. There are
multiple probe missions, both past and present, that support these concepts. There are physical factors
and characteristics that are important in determining the property of the items. In this paper, I will
discuss all of these topics as well as what benefits I think there are so studying other worlds as well as
the benefits I see to studying the solar system and why. The moon has no real atmosphere so there can
be no weatherly erosion, which is an issue some planets have. The atmosphere is basically comprised
of gases that surround the moon. The moon has an extremely low gravity and cools more rapidly than
some planets. It does not have any plate tectonics. The surface of the moon has been created from
years of impact by craters and volcanoes. The moon is often comprised of the crust, the mantle, and
the core. The moon is best observed through telescope observations, however; the moon has always
been subject to lunar landings, lunar samples, and orbiting space crafts. The moon has a very weak
magnetic field in comparison to planets such as the Earth. The moon does not have a dipolar magnetic
field. The crust is where most magnetization occurs. The first moon

Everyman Wealth
Introduction
Money, fame, and fortune rules all. It seeps into the lives of people and is the underlying control
mechanism of decisions and actions. The need for either of these things is common among all people.
In an idea society, religion would be the underlying control mechanism of people s decisions and
actions; however, it is not. Everyman is a prime example of how religion, even in the 15th century,
struggled to be a predominate force in humanity s existence. This essay will examine the human race s
abandonment of the Lord s will and determine how Everyman presents the idea of material wealth.
Sex and Material Wealth
Sex and money are two things that go hand in hand. Once one acquires the other the missing piece is
not too far behind. This quote is a perfect example of Everyman s view of wealth, ...His mind is on
fleshly lust and his treasure, And great pain it shall cause him to endure Before the Lord Heaven
King... This quote suggests that the epitome of earthly life is to have lots of sex and acquire lots of
riches. However, the Lord did not give humanity life to squander in such a way and he will send Death
to bring hunans to judgement for their coveting of material wealth and sex.

The Lord was dissatisfied with the human behavior of the 15th century. Collecting wealth by any
means and all else be damned was the theme of the time. Complete disregard for others and utter self
absorption was rampant. The Lord sent Death to enact his justice, as witnessed in this quote, ...They
be so cumbered with worldly riches, That needs on them I must do justice, On Everyman living
without fear... . The Lord was so displeased with everyman that he decides judgement is due and sends
Death to stop humanity from living with

Rfid Ethical Issues
Ethical Issues of the RFID Technology
Topic Description
For this policy paper I have chosen Radio frequency identification (RFID) technology. RFID is able to
provide a lot of advantages in the supply chain management, health care system, government
operations. RIFD uses electronic magnetic fields for automatically identifying and tracking the tags
attached with the objects. The tags contain electronic information. The RFID devices consist of an
antenna which emits a radio signals for activating a tag and read and write the electronic data to those.
The technology is able to provide a lot of advantages to the users but there are several ethical
considerations associated with the use of this technology. Mostly the ethical issues are associated

Neasha The Great Sparknotes
Neasha the Great Fighting for what you believe in, is powerful way to strengthen yourself and people
around you. There was once a beautiful New Zealand girl named Neasha that lived on a green luscious
island called Popomi. She had long, curly, brown hair that passed her hips and big light brown eyes
that shined as bright as the sun. Neasha and her family were in a tribe called Tuamo that was all about
peace and love for the island. There was another tribe called Api i and they were all about taking over
the lands. One day Api i was trying to take over Tuamo s land. The Tuamo people were so innocent
that they were letting Api i take over. Neasha then refused to let them take control of their land and
home. She then plans to go to the territory of Api i and was going to try take the Ledgens of the Spear,
to make a peace treaty with the tribe. Neasha then starts her adventure through a dark, misty, forest to
get to the tribe. She then sees two big, tall, muscled men who were guarding the front entrance to the
Api i tribe. She then plans out how to distract them from seeing her pass through the entrance. Above
her, she sees a shadow... There was a group of monkey s passing above her. She then grab a fallen
banana that was right beside her on a rock. Neasha throws it past the guards, down the hill, and then

Examples Of A Timeless Theme
A timeless theme is not only a general observation that provides insight on life; it also constantly
applies despite the time in history. No matter the period in time, people can always relate to the fact
that the presence of family can make even the underprivileged seem wealthy. The timeless theme of
family can be observed in the play A Christmas Carol , the movie A Diva s Christmas Carol as well as
the movie How the Grinch Stole Christmas . Each of these literary examples helps to remind us of the
importance of family as well as the true meaning of happiness. Family is a powerful force that glues
us back together when we fall apart. It supports us and makes us feel like we are a structurally sound
building. Most ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For instance, when observing Scrooge s character we notice how he is extremely wealthy but he has
no compassion for others and pushes his family away. When Scrooge is at his own house despite the
enormous size, and the fact that Scrooge is wealthy it is still not filled with love, warmth, and the
things that one would normally expect wealth to bring. Rather it is empty, cold and almost life less. He
spends his evenings either withering away in his home or working in his office to the break of dawn.
This gives us a reminder that money really isn t the solution to everyone s problems because even with
an immense amount of wealth, Scrooge s heart will never be full with joy as long as he maintains life
in its current state. To illustrate the theme of family even more, in contrast we can see that even with
no money, the Cratchit family is still extremely happy. Their wealth comes from family and not from
coins. Even though they live in poverty and do not have much food they still appreciate the family that
surrounds them. People often let the power of money cloud judgements, letting it bring them down but
that is not how the Cratchits live their lives. Despite the fact that their son is sick with a potentially

Political Elites And Non Elites Among Nations
Many consider political elites to be the upper echelon of society and of our generation. Specifically,
political elites in many countries around the world, regardless of the type of government they possess,
have the influence, wealth, clout, and savvy to determine the outcome of elections in politics as well
as impact the lives of the general population, given their respective countries. Similar to the concept of
Communism, the select few comprised of the elite group in certain countries make the majority of the
decisions with no consequences or repercussions; regardless of how right or wrong that decision may
be. The separation of elites and non elites among nations is extremely staggering mainly due to the
fact that: the distribution of political power is skewed, leaders and elites are conscious of what they
possess politically, they are coherent within the realm of politics (i.e. economic status, defense
spending, campaign funding), conspire with one another when decision making, and they answer to no
one higher than them because of their status. Two primary examples of countries with political elites
present are China and Lebanon. Both countries, although they may not solely advocate such status, tie
in political elites with their respective forms of government (Communism for China) and forms of
religion (Confessionalism for Lebanon). Moreover, although both countries possess the capacity and
discipline to survive and thrive without the presence of political

In the time I spent at Panam International supermarket on Sunday, located in DC around the Columbia
Heights area, I observed many things that make this grocery store unique. As I approached this
supermarket, I noticed that there was not a parking lot, therefore, I could not see the type of cars that
the customers owned. I also noticed that right in front of the store, there were women selling mangoes
with hot sauce, Atól de Elote (a central American corn beverage) and Taquitos. When I walked in, the
first thing I noticed was the Bachata music playing in the background, which is a type of Latin music
genre coming from the Dominican Republic. I noticed that the majority of the products sold were from

As I look forward to graduation in the spring, I prepare myself for the great challenges I may

off for family events then my employees should have the same opportunity. Similar to Mulcahey, I
grew up in a family invested in the automotive industry however unlike the experience she is giving
her son my parents were hardly around and I wouldn t change my experience because it has made me

proper leadership overflows into all aspects of one s life. Looking to the future, I find great interest in
her involvement in Penske s mentor program as I believe that the best way to learn about an

Mulcahey explained how important this program is to her because when she began working for

benefits she was reaping from meeting with her mentor once a week and has now brought

The Similarities Between Dogs And Poodle Pets
In late September of 2012, I was shocked when my family got me what I had been begging for after
my cat died. My mom, grandparents, and I were almost to the dog breeding farm where I was possibly
going to get my new puppy. When we got to the place with the puppies my grandma and I were
arguing over which puppy we were going to choose.
My mom told me that as long as I would take care of the puppy, I could get one. After my cat, Noel
died from liver failure I decided that I wanted to get another pet. I finally decide that I wanted a
puppy, so I started begging for one. It took a lot of begging, but after a few months my mom gave in
and said I could get one. My family and I started looking at which kind of puppy we wanted to get and
where we wanted to get one at. We all decide that we wanted a lap dog, because when we looked on
the internet at them, one website said that smaller dogs are easier to potty train. We found a place that
breeds dogs, there were many different kinds of dogs for sale on the website. One breed of dog that
was extremely cute was a peekapoo. A peekapoo is a mix between a Pekingese and a poodle.

the dogs are sisters and that they were the only two girls in their litter. After talking it over with my
family we each wanted a different dog. We decide that we couldn t leave either one behind, so we got

Who is this man that the storms obey him? At this point in the Gospel of Mark we have followed Jesus
in other miracles such as healing Peter s mother in law, healing a man with an unclean spirit, and
cleansing a man of leprosy along with other miracles. August 28th 2005, Louisiana and Mississippi
were affected by hurricane Katrina. 80 percent of New Orleans along with parishes close by were
flooded not receding back for weeks. Evacuation was necessary for the people of New Orleans. The

This man is the Christ, the son of God. In Mark this man has gone around teaching and healing
people. He has forgiven sins because we are a sinful people. This man is the one who will later go be
beaten and given up by his father in heaven. This man has been rejected and mocked by his own
people with a crown of thorns upon his head. This man will be nailed to a cross and placed into a
tomb. This man will die and be raised from the dead 3 day later. This man paid the price for our sin.
He has beaten the devil and lives in victory. In our text we can see this proof because he gets up save
his disciples even though they lack faith. In the same way he will be there to help you with your
storms. Pray to God, worship him and love him with all your heart and mind. We see that our God can
save and truly cares for us. In October 2015 the coast guard rescues a cargo ship of 12 men. These
men were off the coast of Miami closer to Haiti and were caught in a storm. The coast guard rescues
them just like Jesus rescued his disciples from facing death. Our Lord like the coast guard will bring

Van Gogh s Starry Night
The night sky depicted by Van Gogh in the Starry Night painting is completed with of brightly colored
stars, twisting clouds, and a bright crescent moon. This work almost has a dot to dot effect on the
viewer s eyes because of the swirling motions moving in a circle through the middle of the painting,
but Van Gogh uses the large tree and bright moon on different sides of the paper to give the painting
unity. Starry Night is arguably one of Van Gogh s best paintings because of the excellent use of all the
elements of art, which is hard to achieve in one piece of artwork. One strong aspect of this painting is
it has a strong sense of both harmony and unity. The painting achieves harmony by using similar
elements throughout the work and unity by making a quality of wholeness or oneness to the painting.
Even though there are many different hues in this painting none have an overpowering feeling over the
work which brings wholeness to the work. The work has repetition and rhythm of colors such as blue
and patterns like the swirling brush strokes which brings many elements throughout the work.
Likewise, the painting is a great example of the law of thirds which is a guideline that applies to the
process of composing visual images such as designs, films, paintings, and photographs. If the viewer

Sofonisba Anguissola Essay
Many artists, architects, scientists, and writers flocked to the northern cities such as Florence, Venice,
and Genoa in search of intellectual stimulation. The traders and bankers were also enthralled towards
Northern Italy with the hope of making a fortune like the influential and affluent Italian families. Italy
was successful in luring people with its rich heritage and trade opportunities. These visitors spread out
word on the ongoing exciting cultural and social movements in Italy, and soon the ideas of secularism,
individualism, rationality and reason were broadcasted to other parts of Europe like France, Germany,

At the height of the Italian Renaissance, when the gentry educated women only in courtesy, refined

In 1546, seventeen year old Sofonisba, along with her younger sister, Elena, was sent to boarding

Maltese Falcon as a Film Noir
Film Noir is a French word which means: dark or black film. This is very fitting as Film Noir and the
Maltese falcon are stories of dark deceptive people who often cannot be trusted. Film Noir is a good
example of this as the story is about a detective called Sam Spade who gets dragged into the quest for
the Maltese Falcon with a compulsive liar Kasper Gutman. The Maltese Falcon is a large bird made of
solid gold worth millions. The main six conventions of Film Noir as I can see are

Spade looks as he is the bad deceptive one, this is another twist to the plot. O Shaughnessy is on the
left, the light on her face is very different. Her face is lit up so her whole face is visible, her eyes are
large and she looks very innocent. Light is often projected on the females faces as to make them look
vulnerable and truthful, when is this instance Bridgid is the opposite. Another example is when Spade
is being questioned by two investigators, in this scene Spade sits in the middle of them both so his
face is visible but only the back of the other two investigators. There is only one lamp in this frame
and all the rays are focused on Spade, this as with the others makes him look innocent, which in this
case he is, but with the twists you are not sure.

These definitions have the appeal of appearing to reconcile the concerns of diverse constituencies
above all the development and environmental communities (Lele 1991) but they raise at least as many
questions as they answer. Is it possible to meet the needs of the present without compromising the
capacity of future generations to meet their needs? How does one define needs anyway? What
determines carrying capacity, and how does it vary from place to place and over time? What is the
relation between economic growth and development? What constitutes fairness? Let us sketch out
tentative answers to some of these broad questions since those answers will partly shape our
understanding of the environmental issues we want to address shortly in more detail starting with the
meaning of development. We think development ought to be understood to mean progress toward
alleviating the main ills that undermine human well being. These ills are outlined in table 1 1 in terms
of perverse conditions, driving forces, and underlying human frailties. (The problems at each of these
levels are themselves diversely and often tightly interconnected.) The development process is then
seen to entail improving the perverse circumstances by altering the driving forces, which in turn
requires overcoming, to some extent, the underlying frailties. Sustainable development then

Sacred Texture Analysis Essay
Introduction
To explore the use of innovation and creativity in leading the early Christian communities from insular
spirituality to a global social or religious force, I am using the method of Sacred Texture Analysis.
Analysis of sacred text is a way of systemically probing dynamics across a spectrum of relationships
between the humans and the divine (Robbins, 1996, pg.4). The sacred texture of a text is the formation
and nurturing of religious community (Robbins, 1996, pg.127). Therefore, socio rhetorical criticism
extends intertextuality to include cultural discourse (Gowler, 1999, pg.197). So the challenge is how to
understand Apostle Peter s organizational leadership and then apply these concepts to today s
organizational leadership. Below are my insights according to Bible reading and extensive research of
1 and 2 Peter. In carrying out his mission, Peter persistently had to struggle with questions of
leadership with creativity and innovation. In a very significant sense, he had to disconnect ... Show

The young men are supposed to submit to their elders. Peter devotes only four verses to the elders but
only a short verse to the young men due to the level of qualifications and or defense. The young men
are supposed to submit to their divinely appointed leaders since they need to gain wisdom and practice
in defense. Young men definitely need wisdom before going their own way when the right time
comes. Young men usually fail to appreciate the wisdom of the elderly and or wiser in the faith.
Leaders can shape opportunities and motivations for storytelling (Branson, et al., 2011, pg.53). When
young men hear how the leadership of others has influenced them and their churches, they can rethink
what is important in their own praxes of leadership (Branson, et al., 2011, pg. 54). Therefore, the
leadership of the elders need to be followed at all

Business Process Management Case Study
1. INTRODUCTION:
About BPM
Jean Philip Pritchard Colin Armistead, (1999); described Business Process Management (BPM) as a
methodology designed to eliminate waste, customer driven and ensure increased productivity. The
main drivers of the approach in most organization are threat of competition, need to improve quality,
responsiveness of products and services, while the main benefits are the need to improve client
relationship, change in organization culture and ensuring better cross functional working environment.
Business Process Management (BPM) is described as management discipline that associates

Foucault s Power And Power
Foucault s Power (Intro) Power, what is power? Is it a thing, something that can be controlled by a
person or group? Or is it an omnipresent force with no clear distinction of what it is and what it is not?
My views before being introduced to Foucault was: power is an attainable thing, but elusive. For
example, it is said one has power, if one has enough money. Another example I commonly hear is that,
the government (the State, the law, police) holds too much power. My final example is, in my opinion,
power is usually viewed as a negative thing by ones that do not hold said power. Michel Foucault, a
philosopher, challenged the traditional view of power by analyzing power in a series of studies of
different forms of power, such as from his books: Madness and Civilization, Discipline and Punish,
and The Order of Things to name a few. What Foucault found through his critical observations was
that the concept of power in the traditional views were too narrow and specific; not a singularity
composed of only negative aspects but also a dualism that leans much heavier on the side of positivity
than vice versa and an omnipresent force (or rather relationships) that may be used through various
techniques but not owned at all.
DEFINITION OF FOUCAULT S POWER
I will use this section to elaborate on each of the five points that according to Clare O Farrell s, a

Humanism In The Renaissance
Europeans emerging into the new era of the Renaissance came upon the deep interest in Latin and
Greek literature, whom later took the name humanists . Humanism was a new education plan that
valued evidence and reason and was influenced by ancient literature from a time when scholars like
Plato and Socrates based their teachings with scientific evidence rather than religious teaching. In the
effect of the Bubonic plague, many Europeans lost faith when they were battered with the epidemic
that drastically decreased the population and in effect, doubted the church and it s teachings. As the
medieval time period reached it s end, society (mainly scholars at first) became more educated of
secular ideas. Therefore, experimented with debates and wrote texts to defend a broader education
system not only based on medieval church teachings (Of course, inventions like the printing press in
the 1440s highly impacted the spread of teachings and texts which allowed the idea to become more
widely known in a shorter period of time than was attempted by past scholars). The impact and growth
of secularism and individualism in effect of humanism from the 1400s to 1700s rests highly on
humanists like Raphael, Marsilio Ficino and .....who emphasized the teachings of humanism
corresponding with the study of ancient texts which modified the educational system and
governmental bodies and influenced a change in cultural aspects affecting Renaissance art based on
their classical and contemporary

Constantine I Outline
Constantine I, a.k.a. Constantine the Great, was a Byzantine (or Eastern Roman) emperor who is
widely credited for the conversion of the empire to Christianity. Born on February 27 in c. 280 C.E. in
what is now called Serbia, he was originally named Flavius Valerius Constantinus after his father, a
renowned army officer. [ Constantine I ] His death was on May 22, 337 C.E. in Ancyrona, Bithynia (in
present day Turkey). [ Constantine I ] Interestingly, when Flavius Valerius Constantinus (the father)
was appointed deputy emperor in the West, he left Constantine s mother to marry the stepdaughter of
Maximian. From there, the young Constantine was raised under emperor Diocletian in the East. [
Constantine Biography ]
After rising to power as the sole emperor of Rome in 324 C.E, Constantine moved the capital city
from Rome to the site of ancient Byzantium, naming it Constantinople after himself. [ Heritage ]
Constantinople s biggest strategic advantage was that it was surrounded on all three sides by water. Its
position on the Bosporus Strait was easy to defend not only itself but parts of the eastern and
Danubian frontiers. [ Heritage ] With this change in location and that of system of ruling, Constantine
I established a period of unity and peace for Rome. However, though he ruled until his death, the
empire would only remain unified until the eighth century. [ Heritage ] ... Show more content on

Abstract
Knowledge is power. If people know more about a topic, the better they are prepared to defend and
expand upon it. What is at stake is how the world views those with autism. People need to understand
that autistics simply see everything around them differently, and there is nothing wrong with that. In
fact, creative and unique perspectives can help society shape Earth into a more productive, diverse
place. I hope that the research that I find can add to the foundation that we need if we are to move

Literary Analysis Of Johnny Got His Gun
Dalton Trumbo, author of Johnny Got His Gun, is known for his unique style of writing. Many
acclaimed authors of books such as Jane Austen s Pride and Prejudice have a formal writing style , on
the other hand, Trumbo s is informal. It consists of short sentences and punctuation techniques. This
writing style is what sets Trumbo apart from others because this writing style is difficult to execute
and it is hard to apply to other works of literature. His book, Johnny Got His Gun has won the award
for National Award for Most Original Book . This book is about a soldier named Joe who has become
handicapped after a bomb blast and experiences flashbacks which reflect back onto his past and
present time. The authors style of writing affects the way a reader interprets the story through the use
of literary elements and literary devices. Fine
Three elements that define an author s style of writing include diction (the word choice), syntax
(sentence analysis), and figurative language (language analysis). An example of diction arises from the
main character, Joe, contemplating what they fight for in the war. The quote, Pay no attention when
they tap you on the shoulder and say come along we ve got to fight for liberty or whatever their word

involving Johnson and Johnson and Novartis AG, and to analyze and discuss the various antitrust
practices that the organizations involved are accused of utilizing. Its purpose is also to discuss how the
practices being deployed in this scenario can help any of the organizations to secure market power,
which is defined by the ability of a firm to profitably raise the market price of a good or service over
marginal cost (Market Power). Finally, it will also discuss the impact that an oligopoly in this case has

The article also quoted a representative of the European Union (EU) as stating that the competition
arm of the EC would investigate whether contractual arrangements between the companies may have
had the object or effect of hindering the entry on to the market of generic versions of Fentanyl in the
Netherlands (Whalen, 2011).
Effects of Antitrust Behavior by Johnson Johnson and Novartis AG
Restricting market access to a generic drug provider by way of a contractual agreement or deal results
in financial implications for all entities involved in the deal. The oligopoly holding company would
incur large expenses as a result of making a payout to the generic drug maker for delaying release of
their product. The generic drug maker would certainly benefit from receiving the payout, however at
the expense of losing any market share gained up to that point. From the point of view of the
consumer, no longer having access to a specific drug that was effective at treating a particular
condition could result in harm or hindered treatment. It is important to note that not all alternatives of
the same drug will always have the same effect. If upon completion of investigation both J J and
Novartis are found guilty of antitrust behavior, both entities and perhaps key decision making figures

Troubles in Northern Ireland from the IRA and British...
INTRODUCTION Although much of the blame for the Troubles in Northern Ireland has fallen on the
IRA as a terrorist group, the British government was responsible for numerous acts of state terrorism
in the period. As a result of their frustration towards the situation in the North and their desperation to
stop the IRA from wreaking havoc, the British Army and police acted in ways that one would not
expect from the representatives of a world power in the late twentieth century. The British government
refused to recognize the legitimacy of the IRA, and instead of combating them as a military enemy,
often resorted to acts of terrorism of their own. These instances of state terrorism were often a result of

Years of British occupation and oppression led to a sustained campaign to regain freedom from Britain
beginning in the early twentieth century. Both the loyalist (supporters of the Union with Britain) and
the republicans (supporters of a united Ireland) were willing to use violence for their cause. This took
form in the 1916 Easter Rising, where Irish rebels declared the independence of the Irish Republic and
fought in Dublin against the British to regain control of their homeland. The rebels were unsuccessful
and were forced to surrender. This lead to the later Irish War of Independence, and the introduction of
the Government of Ireland Act in 1920 and the Anglo Irish Treaty of 1921, which resulted in the
partitioning of Ireland into six counties in the North ruled by Britain and twenty six counties in the
south, newly named the Irish Free State. However, a significant minority in the North of around forty
percent were Irish nationalists who wanted independence from Britain. Therefore, from its creation in
1920, Northern Ireland was a state whose citizens differed over their national allegiance. This situation
in the North caused a great deal of tension, as the leaders of the Protestant, unionist majority
discriminated against the Catholic, nationalist minority. So, by the 1960s, Catholic nationalist
frustration was manifested in a campaign for civil rights, to which the state responded with vicious
intensity. Those who were

Advantages Of Saudi Women Drive
Group 2
Q10) In your opinion, why do you think Saudi women were not allowed to drive? [see p. 68] In my
opinion, I think the Saudi women are not allowed to drive because it would give them power and
personal freedom. They would be able to go out without the permission of their husbands or fathers,
nor would they need to fully rely on their husbands or fathers anymore. According to the article, Saudi
women were not allowed to drive because, most feel that driving here is dangerous and initially for
women would be as disastrous as when men started. Accident factor aside, it would be worse because
men unaccustomed to seeing women drive would follow and bother. It would be a great sport (Alireza
68). Thus, they are not allowed to drive because they believe it would bother the men too much; that
the men would follow the women drivers around, making it unsafe for them.
Q11) Describe some experiences of the Saudi women attending college. [see p. 69]

the women found out that their names were left off the programs. As a result, they set up such a hue

The Last Reigning Monarch Of Hawaii

The last reigning monarch of Hawaii did everything in her power to oppose the annexation of Hawaii
into the United States. Her name was Queen Liliuokalani. She came to power in Hawaii during a time
when white planters ran the economy in the main islands. She fought many things such as the Bayonet
Constitution and was even imprisoned for part of her life. She was educated musically and wrote
several songs, including Aloha Oe. She worked to better the Hawaiian Islands in many ways,
including working on school for Hawaii s youth. Queen Liliuokalani was an important figure during
the annexation of Hawaii. Lydia Kamakaeha was born on September 2nd, 1838, in Honolulu, Hawaii.
Keohokalole, her mother, was a chieftess and favored advisor to King Kamehameha III. As a child she

Triangles can be defined as an emotional response to some type of anxiety between two people that

Julie, the following two quotes will be compared and contrasted. One from German economist,
philosopher, and promenade socialist, Karl Marx and another from author, actor, and theatrical

second from Rockwood s book The Craftsmen of Dionysus: An Approach to Acting, An exact

No, thank you! Then I have something better myself. Following this he pulls out a bottle of wine
referring to it as pure. He will only indulge in the rituals the class he strives to be apart of does as a
symbolic way of removing himself from his won social standings (Strindberg 3). Marx s quote is
commenting on the class conflict he observed across world cultures. He attributed social stratification,
where oppressors put constant pressure on their oppressed, as the source of conflict. Stratification is
present in all social structures on various gradations and exists on both the large and small sides of the
scale. Within the general overarching classifications, gradation continues to narrow the social position
of people further. Example, in parts of Europe during the middle ages the system in place was the
Feudal System, the king had the most power and agency, while the peasants had the least, in between
were nobles and knights. Inside of each of these groups existed further classifications, within the
peasants category there existed merchants, farmers, craftsmen, serfs, etc.. These smaller titles all held
a different levels of respect, power, and agency. Rockwood was commenting on the intent of
naturalism and realism in the theatre. The most effective purpose, he proposes, is that they are meant
to resemble but heighten real life, never actually replicating it. The job of an artist is to take their

  • 2. Solar System Advantages There are many different items that make up the solar system, and they are all classified very differently. Two of the most important items in our solar system are the planets and the moons. They differ in geologic activity, composition, interior structure, magnetic fields, and atmospheres. There are multiple probe missions, both past and present, that support these concepts. There are physical factors and characteristics that are important in determining the property of the items. In this paper, I will discuss all of these topics as well as what benefits I think there are so studying other worlds as well as the benefits I see to studying the solar system and why. The moon has no real atmosphere so there can be no weatherly erosion, which is an issue some planets have. The atmosphere is basically comprised of gases that surround the moon. The moon has an extremely low gravity and cools more rapidly than some planets. It does not have any plate tectonics. The surface of the moon has been created from years of impact by craters and volcanoes. The moon is often comprised of the crust, the mantle, and the core. The moon is best observed through telescope observations, however; the moon has always been subject to lunar landings, lunar samples, and orbiting space crafts. The moon has a very weak magnetic field in comparison to planets such as the Earth. The moon does not have a dipolar magnetic field. The crust is where most magnetization occurs. The first moon ... • 3. Everyman Wealth Introduction Money, fame, and fortune rules all. It seeps into the lives of people and is the underlying control mechanism of decisions and actions. The need for either of these things is common among all people. In an idea society, religion would be the underlying control mechanism of people s decisions and actions; however, it is not. Everyman is a prime example of how religion, even in the 15th century, struggled to be a predominate force in humanity s existence. This essay will examine the human race s abandonment of the Lord s will and determine how Everyman presents the idea of material wealth. Sex and Material Wealth Sex and money are two things that go hand in hand. Once one acquires the other the missing piece is not too far behind. This quote is a perfect example of Everyman s view of wealth, ...His mind is on fleshly lust and his treasure, And great pain it shall cause him to endure Before the Lord Heaven King... This quote suggests that the epitome of earthly life is to have lots of sex and acquire lots of riches. However, the Lord did not give humanity life to squander in such a way and he will send Death to bring hunans to judgement for their coveting of material wealth and sex. Human Abandon and Death ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Lord was dissatisfied with the human behavior of the 15th century. Collecting wealth by any means and all else be damned was the theme of the time. • 6. Neasha The Great Sparknotes Neasha the Great Fighting for what you believe in, is powerful way to strengthen yourself and people around you. There was once a beautiful New Zealand girl named Neasha that lived on a green luscious island called Popomi. She had long, curly, brown hair that passed her hips and big light brown eyes that shined as bright as the sun. Neasha and her family were in a tribe called Tuamo that was all about peace and love for the island. There was another tribe called Api i and they were all about taking over the lands. One day Api i was trying to take over Tuamo s land. The Tuamo people were so innocent that they were letting Api i take over. Neasha then refused to let them take control of their land and home. She then plans to go to the territory of Api i and was going to try take the Ledgens of the Spear, to make a peace treaty with the tribe. Neasha then starts her adventure through a dark, misty, forest to get to the tribe. She then sees two big, tall, muscled men who were guarding the front entrance to the Api i tribe. She then plans out how to distract them from seeing her pass through the entrance. Above her, she sees a shadow... There was a group of monkey s passing above her. • 7. Examples Of A Timeless Theme A timeless theme is not only a general observation that provides insight on life; it also constantly applies despite the time in history. No matter the period in time, people can always relate to the fact that the presence of family can make even the underprivileged seem wealthy. The timeless theme of family can be observed in the play A Christmas Carol , the movie A Diva s Christmas Carol as well as the movie How the Grinch Stole Christmas . Each of these literary examples helps to remind us of the importance of family as well as the true meaning of happiness. Family is a powerful force that glues us back together when we fall apart. It supports us and makes us feel like we are a structurally sound building. Most ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For instance, when observing Scrooge s character we notice how he is extremely wealthy but he has no compassion for others and pushes his family away. When Scrooge is at his own house despite the enormous size, and the fact that Scrooge is wealthy it is still not filled with love, warmth, and the things that one would normally expect wealth to bring. Rather it is empty, cold and almost life less. He spends his evenings either withering away in his home or working in his office to the break of dawn. This gives us a reminder that money really isn t the solution to everyone s problems because even with an immense amount of wealth, Scrooge s heart will never be full with joy as long as he maintains life in its current state. To illustrate the theme of family even more, in contrast we can see that even with no money, the Cratchit family is still extremely happy. Their wealth comes from family and not from coins. Even though they live in poverty and do not have much food they still appreciate the family that surrounds them. People often let the power of money cloud judgements, letting it bring them down but that is not how the Cratchits live their lives. Despite the fact that their son is sick with a potentially ... • 8. Political Elites And Non Elites Among Nations Many consider political elites to be the upper echelon of society and of our generation. Specifically, political elites in many countries around the world, regardless of the type of government they possess, have the influence, wealth, clout, and savvy to determine the outcome of elections in politics as well as impact the lives of the general population, given their respective countries. Similar to the concept of Communism, the select few comprised of the elite group in certain countries make the majority of the decisions with no consequences or repercussions; regardless of how right or wrong that decision may be. The separation of elites and non elites among nations is extremely staggering mainly due to the fact that: the distribution of political power is skewed, leaders and elites are conscious of what they possess politically, they are coherent within the realm of politics (i.e. economic status, defense spending, campaign funding), conspire with one another when decision making, and they answer to no one higher than them because of their status. Two primary examples of countries with political elites present are China and Lebanon. Both countries, although they may not solely advocate such status, tie in political elites with their respective forms of government (Communism for China) and forms of religion (Confessionalism for Lebanon). Moreover, although both countries possess the capacity and discipline to survive and thrive without the presence of political ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Grocery Store Observation Paper In the time I spent at Panam International supermarket on Sunday, located in DC around the Columbia Heights area, I observed many things that make this grocery store unique. As I approached this supermarket, I noticed that there was not a parking lot, therefore, I could not see the type of cars that the customers owned. I also noticed that right in front of the store, there were women selling mangoes with hot sauce, Atól de Elote (a central American corn beverage) and Taquitos. Ms. Mulcahey attended Northwood University after receiving a scholarship and with family history in the auto industry she had a desire to continue the legacy. As I look forward to graduation in the spring, I prepare myself for the great challenges I may encounter while envisioning a future executive position that allows me to make a difference in my industry. Mulcahey has taught me how important it is to be a fair and honest leader; if I can take time off for family events then my employees should have the same opportunity. Similar to Mulcahey, I grew up in a family invested in the automotive industry however unlike the experience she is giving her son my parents were hardly around and I wouldn t change my experience because it has made me who I am. However, I hope to provide an opposite experience for my children demonstrating that proper leadership overflows into all aspects of one s life. Looking to the future, I find great interest in her involvement in Penske s mentor program as I believe that the best way to learn about an organization s culture and operations is through an employee who has been with the company. Ms. Mulcahey explained how important this program is to her because when she began working for Reynolds and Reynolds as a college graduate she happened to be paired with the President and CEO of the company (Harris). While this was intimidating for her at first she quickly grew to see the benefits she was reaping from meeting with her mentor once a week and has now brought ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 11. The Similarities Between Dogs And Poodle Pets In late September of 2012, I was shocked when my family got me what I had been begging for after my cat died. My mom, grandparents, and I were almost to the dog breeding farm where I was possibly going to get my new puppy. When we got to the place with the puppies my grandma and I were arguing over which puppy we were going to choose. My mom told me that as long as I would take care of the puppy, I could get one. After my cat, Noel died from liver failure I decided that I wanted to get another pet. I finally decide that I wanted a puppy, so I started begging for one. It took a lot of begging, but after a few months my mom gave in and said I could get one. My family and I started looking at which kind of puppy we wanted to get and where we wanted to get one at. We all decide that we wanted a lap dog, because when we looked on the internet at them, one website said that smaller dogs are easier to potty train. We found a place that breeds dogs, there were many different kinds of dogs for sale on the website. One breed of dog that was extremely cute was a peekapoo. At this point in the Gospel of Mark we have followed Jesus in other miracles such as healing Peter s mother in law, healing a man with an unclean spirit, and cleansing a man of leprosy along with other miracles. August 28th 2005, Louisiana and Mississippi were affected by hurricane Katrina. 80 percent of New Orleans along with parishes close by were flooded not receding back for weeks. • 13. Van Gogh s Starry Night The night sky depicted by Van Gogh in the Starry Night painting is completed with of brightly colored stars, twisting clouds, and a bright crescent moon. This work almost has a dot to dot effect on the viewer s eyes because of the swirling motions moving in a circle through the middle of the painting, but Van Gogh uses the large tree and bright moon on different sides of the paper to give the painting unity. Starry Night is arguably one of Van Gogh s best paintings because of the excellent use of all the elements of art, which is hard to achieve in one piece of artwork. One strong aspect of this painting is it has a strong sense of both harmony and unity. The painting achieves harmony by using similar elements throughout the work and unity by making a quality of wholeness or oneness to the painting. Even though there are many different hues in this painting none have an overpowering feeling over the work which brings wholeness to the work. The work has repetition and rhythm of colors such as blue and patterns like the swirling brush strokes which brings many elements throughout the work. Likewise, the painting is a great example of the law of thirds which is a guideline that applies to the process of composing visual images such as designs, films, paintings, and photographs. Italy was successful in luring people with its rich heritage and trade opportunities. These visitors spread out word on the ongoing exciting cultural and social movements in Italy, and soon the ideas of secularism, individualism, rationality and reason were broadcasted to other parts of Europe like France, Germany, Britain, and Netherlands as if seismic waves spreading out of the epicenter that was Italy. O Shaughnessy is on the left, the light on her face is very different. Her face is lit up so her whole face is visible, her eyes are large and she looks very innocent. Light is often projected on the females faces as to make them look vulnerable and truthful, when is this instance Bridgid is the opposite. Another example is when Spade is being questioned by two investigators, in this scene Spade sits in the middle of them both so his face is visible but only the back of the other two investigators. There is only one lamp in this frame and all the rays are focused on Spade, this as with the others makes him look innocent, which in this case he is, but with the twists you are not sure. Outdoor lighting is quite similar, outside scenes are usually lit by headlights and street lamps. A scene outside is a good place for someone to hide as the beam of light is often focused on one direct spot. A good example is when Miles Archer ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

These definitions have the appeal of appearing to reconcile the concerns of diverse constituencies above all the development and environmental communities (Lele 1991) but they raise at least as many questions as they answer. Is it possible to meet the needs of the present without compromising the capacity of future generations to meet their needs? How does one define needs anyway? What determines carrying capacity, and how does it vary from place to place and over time? What is the relation between economic growth and development? What constitutes fairness? Let us sketch out tentative answers to some of these broad questions since those answers will partly shape our understanding of the environmental issues we want to address shortly in more detail starting with the meaning of development. We think development ought to be understood to mean progress toward alleviating the main ills that undermine human well being. These ills are outlined in table 1 1 in terms of perverse conditions, driving forces, and underlying human frailties. (The problems at each of these levels are themselves diversely and often tightly interconnected.) The development process is then seen to entail improving the perverse circumstances by altering the driving forces, which in turn requires overcoming, to some extent, the underlying frailties. Sustainable development then ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 17. Sacred Texture Analysis Essay Introduction To explore the use of innovation and creativity in leading the early Christian communities from insular spirituality to a global social or religious force, I am using the method of Sacred Texture Analysis. Analysis of sacred text is a way of systemically probing dynamics across a spectrum of relationships between the humans and the divine (Robbins, 1996, pg.4). The sacred texture of a text is the formation and nurturing of religious community (Robbins, 1996, pg.127). Therefore, socio rhetorical criticism extends intertextuality to include cultural discourse (Gowler, 1999, pg.197). So the challenge is how to understand Apostle Peter s organizational leadership and then apply these concepts to today s organizational leadership. Below are my insights according to Bible reading and extensive research of 1 and 2 Peter. In carrying out his mission, Peter persistently had to struggle with questions of leadership with creativity and innovation. In a very significant sense, he had to disconnect ... Young men definitely need wisdom before going their own way when the right time comes. Young men usually fail to appreciate the wisdom of the elderly and or wiser in the faith. Leaders can shape opportunities and motivations for storytelling (Branson, et al., 2011, pg.53). • 21. Foucault s Power And Power Foucault s Power (Intro) Power, what is power? Is it a thing, something that can be controlled by a person or group? Or is it an omnipresent force with no clear distinction of what it is and what it is not? My views before being introduced to Foucault was: power is an attainable thing, but elusive. For example, it is said one has power, if one has enough money. Another example I commonly hear is that, the government (the State, the law, police) holds too much power. My final example is, in my opinion, power is usually viewed as a negative thing by ones that do not hold said power. Michel Foucault, a philosopher, challenged the traditional view of power by analyzing power in a series of studies of different forms of power, such as from his books: Madness and Civilization, Discipline and Punish, and The Order of Things to name a few. What Foucault found through his critical observations was that the concept of power in the traditional views were too narrow and specific; not a singularity composed of only negative aspects but also a dualism that leans much heavier on the side of positivity than vice versa and an omnipresent force (or rather relationships) that may be used through various techniques but not owned at all. DEFINITION OF FOUCAULT S POWER I will use this section to elaborate on each of the five points that according to Clare O Farrell s, a scholar at QUT (Queensland University of Technology in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia), key concepts page, on her website ... Humanism was a new education plan that valued evidence and reason and was influenced by ancient literature from a time when scholars like Plato and Socrates based their teachings with scientific evidence rather than religious teaching. In the effect of the Bubonic plague, many Europeans lost faith when they were battered with the epidemic that drastically decreased the population and in effect, doubted the church and it s teachings. As the medieval time period reached it s end, society (mainly scholars at first) became more educated of secular ideas. Therefore, experimented with debates and wrote texts to defend a broader education system not only based on medieval church teachings (Of course, inventions like the printing press in the 1440s highly impacted the spread of teachings and texts which allowed the idea to become more widely known in a shorter period of time than was attempted by past scholars). The impact and growth of secularism and individualism in effect of humanism from the 1400s to 1700s rests highly on humanists like Raphael, Marsilio Ficino and .....who emphasized the teachings of humanism corresponding with the study of ancient texts which modified the educational system and governmental bodies and influenced a change in cultural aspects affecting Renaissance art based on their classical and contemporary ... Years of British occupation and oppression led to a sustained campaign to regain freedom from Britain beginning in the early twentieth century. Both the loyalist (supporters of the Union with Britain) and the republicans (supporters of a united Ireland) were willing to use violence for their cause. This took form in the 1916 Easter Rising, where Irish rebels declared the independence of the Irish Republic and fought in Dublin against the British to regain control of their homeland. The rebels were unsuccessful and were forced to surrender. This lead to the later Irish War of Independence, and the introduction of the Government of Ireland Act in 1920 and the Anglo Irish Treaty of 1921, which resulted in the partitioning of Ireland into six counties in the North ruled by Britain and twenty six counties in the south, newly named the Irish Free State. However, a significant minority in the North of around forty percent were Irish nationalists who wanted independence from Britain. Therefore, from its creation in 1920, Northern Ireland was a state whose citizens differed over their national allegiance. This situation in the North caused a great deal of tension, as the leaders of the Protestant, unionist majority discriminated against the Catholic, nationalist minority.
