The Importance Of Being Algernon
I watched the Oak Ridge Production of The Importance of Being Earnest on Thursday, March 10. The
Importance of Being Earnest is a comedy about a man named Jack Worthing, who has a fake brother
named Ernest, who gets is very mischievous. We soon learn that Jack created his brother and uses his
name when he goes to London, but he uses the name Jack when he is in the countryside. This is all
revealed in Act 1 of the play when Jack is talking to his best friend, Algernon Moncrieff. Jack has
fallen in love with Algernon s cousin, Gwendolen Fairfax. Algernon becomes suspicious of Jack, and
he confronts him about his double life, based on Jack s cigarette case, that has, to Uncle Jack from
Cecily, written in it. Jack confesses and tells Algernon that his real name ... Show more content on

Jack however, being the Cecily s legal guardian, that he give consent to Algernon and Cecily getting
married. Jack states that if Lady Bracknell consents his marriage, he will do the same. She refuses this
offer, and she and Gwendolen are about to leave when Dr. Chasuble shows up to change Jack and
Algernon s name. He mentions Cecily s governess, Mrs. Prism, which catches Mrs. Bracknell s
attention. She demands that Mrs. Prism is to be sent for, and when she arrives, Lady Bracknell accuses
her of stealing her sister s baby. Mrs. Prism confesses and says that she lost the baby at a railway
station after she had put the baby in her handbag. This catches Jack s attention because that was what
happened to him when he was a baby. After asking Mrs. Prism some questions, Jack puts the pieces
together, and runs of stage. He comes back with a handbag, and asks Mrs. Prism if it is hers, and she
says yes. Jack gives her a huge hug and yells, Mother! After while of sorting out all the details, Jack
learns that he is not Mrs. Prisms son, but the son of Lady Bracknell s sister, which makes him
Algernon s brother. He also learned that he had been christened Ernest John, so in the end, he had
been telling the truth all

Rhetorical Analysis Of Fredrick Douglas s Speech
Fredrick Douglas, a freed slave, delivered a speech on July fourth 1852. This speech highlighted the
hypocrisy of the United States and revealed how citizens, slaves in particular, perceived Independence
Day. Douglas s speech exposed the nation, with a well constructed argument that effectively solidified
the main and most important point. Douglas used several rhetorical strategies throughout his speech to
argue his side. Fredrick Douglas used the rhetorical devices, ethos to gain credibility, allusions to
show comparisons, and pathos to spark an emotional response in his speech to defend his claim about
the hypocrisy of Independence Day. Douglas was the first African American citizen to hold a high
U.S. government rank. Douglas gained recognition by being an abolitionist, journalist, and powerful
speaker, he was also born a slave. These two highly contradictory characteristics gave him an edge
when delivering his Fourth of July speech. Douglas began his speech by asking, ...why am I called
upon to speak here today? What have I or those I represent to do with your national independence? By
asking two rhetorical questions, Douglas allowed his audience to contemplate. This contemplation
leads to the realization, for most, that Douglas has more than enough credibility to be presenting and
speaking. Douglas establishes his importance and credibility in the first two lines of his speech.
Another way he established credibility is by making himself cohesive with the audience. In the second
paragraph Douglas says, Would to God, both for your sakes and ours, than an affirmative answer
could be truthfully returned to these questions. In the mid 1800 s religion was an overwhelmingly
large piece of people s lives. By referring to religion Douglas can establish that he is a godly man and
can be trusted. He also established a connection to a large part of his audience by just mentioning
God. Throughout the introduction to Douglas s speech, he built up his credibility and allows himself
to appeal to more of the audience by using ethos. This credibility not only created a concrete
connection with the white audience, but also with the African American audience. By doing this,
Douglas allowed himself to appeal to a

The Importance Of The Internet Speech
In the majority of expression cases, educators have challenged reprisals for their speech outside the
classroom including their Internet speech. During the 1970s and early 1980s, courts relied on the
Pickering guidelines in striking down a variety of restrictions on teachers rights to express views on
matters of public concern. Since the early 1980s, however, courts have seemed increasingly inclined
to view teachers and other public employees expression as relating to private employment disputes
rather than to matters of public concern. Many courts relied on Connick in broadly interpreting what
falls under the category of unprotected private grievances. To illustrate, courts considered the
following types of expression to be unprotected: discussing salaries during a break; filing a grievance
about being assigned a job sharing teaching position; accusing the superintendent of inciting student
disturbances; sending sarcastic, critical memoranda to school officials; protesting unfavorable
performance evaluations; and commenting about class size and lack of discipline. Yet, when courts
have applied the Pickering balancing test, they often distinguished whether disruption to school
operations was truly caused by the employee s speech versus the impermissible heckler s veto that is,
courts have analyzed whether the disruption was caused by outsiders attempting to silence the speech
instead of the speech itself. A New York school district terminated a teacher for

Manifest Destiny Research Paper
Because of Manifest Destiny the United States faced potential wars and a great deal of inequality.
Although it did have a few positive impacts, it mostly effected the country negatively. While Manifest
Destiny brought the U.S. expansion along with immigration, it created inequity and promoted war
which were not reasonable consequences for the countries progression.
Those who heavily influenced the idea of Manifest Destiny like John O Sullivan, who also created it,
said that it was what God wanted and therefore it was acceptable to do whatever was needed for the
U.S. to obtain more land. O Sullivan opted for a war of conquest against Mexico. Although the U.S.
was able to acquire California and New Mexico through this act, it was not a valid reason to invade
Mexican territory and purloin land that did not belong to the United States. Along with O Sullivan,
presidents John Tyler and James K. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the article Manifest Destiny: An Introduction the author says It excluded those people who were
percieved as being incapable of self government, such as Native American people and those of non
European origin. This is an example of inequality because people who were not European were
practically ignored and viewed as unimportant which gave them less rights than everyone else. The
article by Thomas Hietala states that leaders and private groups continued to seek more land from
Native Americans, Central American countries and European governments. This is another example of
inequality because Americans tried to take land from those who were seen as lesser than them so they
could have more for themselves and leave Natives, Central Americans and Europeans with nothing.
Manifest Destiny was not an acceptable excuse to take land and rights from people because they
weren t considered fully American and therefore just gave the government an excuse to control those
people so they could take what they wanted from

Muslims In Films
A decade following the 9/11 tragedy, two Muslim passengers, Masudur Rahman, an instructor of
Arabic at the University of Memphis, and Mohamed Zaghloul, a religious leader at the Islamic
Association of Greater Memphis, were asked to leave a commercial airliner (Delta/ASA) in Memphis,
United States, during their flight in 2011 due to the pilot refusal to fly with them aboard. Apparently,
the other passengers felt uncomfortable and frightened by their appearance and the clothes they worn
(traditional Indian and Arab clothing) because of its similarity to the terrorist outfit in Hollywood
movies. Due to this, they were forced to postpone their departure and book a ticket for the next flight.
Feeling discriminated, the men reported the incident to Council on American Islamic Relations, a
Muslim civil rights and advocacy group in Washington, D.C, and claimed ... Show more content on

This act of bigotry was condemned in some quarters, however, the Delta/ASA pilot and the frightened
passengers received support from numerous voices among the American commentariat (Cole, 2011).
Thus, the discrimination against Muslims in the United States is still evident and the need for more
objective portrayal of Muslims in Hollywood films is continually increasing.
The representation of Muslims and Islam in the mainstream media such as films has been constantly
depicted in a stereotypical way even after the 9/11 incident. Having reviewed more than a thousand
films made since 1896, Dr Jack G. Shaheen, a former CBS News consultant on Middle East affairs
(2008), claimed that Muslim characters in American cinema, despite a varied background of
nationality and culture, have consistently been skewed into the Arab cycle of identification, ignoring
the role of other Muslims, and marginalized in a plot

Dancing At Luughnasa Analysis
In Dancing at Lughnasa (1990) by Brian Friel (b.1929), the author presents a memory play with
themes of memory and migration, together with language and performance. The drama explores
complex issues in the lives of invented characters (Lojek, 2006 in Gupta, 2012, p. 250). Friel s
characters stress memory over history, the stage directions demonstrate a variety of events in an
individual and communal position. The Mundy s family express their past with a social historical
background, depicting their wishes and relationship in a maze of recollections, that are made of events
or persons from their past. Moreover, the recollections of events foregrounds the theme of memory.
However to consider the realistic features in tension with the role of memory, the audience must focus
on Friel pretending presence of characters and incidents on stage, embedded within the text that
provide a fundamental tone of loss and everyday details of the characters lives.
In details, Michael Mundy s memories is the essence of the play outlined around family and ... Show

Primary Purpose Of Horses
The primary purpose of horses has definitely changed over decades. Around 4500 2500 BC, horses
and donkeys were primarily used for meat and milk, mounts, draft, and waging war. They were used
for traveling more than draft, since oxen were more effective with pulling and working in the fields.
Overtime, the need for horses decreased in many areas that it was originally used for. Oxen were
preferred in drafting, travelling by horseback was not as efficient anymore, they were poor meat
animals, and more difficult to herd than sheep or cattle. These are the reasons that horses are not
considered a commodity since they aren t grown for production or very useful to many. In the early
1700s, racing begins in Virginia, North Carolina and Maryland. People would bet on what horse
would win the race and it was, and still is, a competitive sport. During this time, horses were still
being used as draft animals and travel (for large plantations). Today, horses are primarily used for
recreational purposes like pleasure riding and racing. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This cost included: feed, bedding, and manure management. For equine owners that breed horses for
shows, the cost increases a lot since they need extra care. The horse industry raises horses to be sold
and used for recreational uses like riding, or for shows. Horses also have a long lifespan of 20 30
years, a lot longer than many commodities. Since horses can t be used for food consumption, in the
US, and the price to maintain one horse is so expensive, the profit the horse industry is receiving is a
lot lower than other commodities like poultry, cattle and

Comparing Kate Chopin s The Storm and T. Coraghessan Boyle s Greasy Lake
Kate Chopin and T. Coraghessan Boyle made excellent use of the elements point of view, character,
and setting in their short stories The Storm and Greasy Lake . Kate Chopin s characters and events
follow the setting the storm. This greatly enhances her work. Boyle s characters mirror his setting as
well a greasy lake. It is amazing how much greater depth and deeper the insight is for a story when the
potentials of elements of writing are fulfilled and utilized.

The main character of Boyle s story is the nameless narrator. He is more round than flat, mainly
because of the point of view of first person. The reader must of course get closer to the main character
because they become them when they read the story. The reader sees inside the narrator and through
his eyes out at the world around him because of his thoughts and actions. Boyle develops his main
character through the point of view taken they cannot be separated.
We wore torn up leather jackets, slouched around with toothpicks in our mouths, sniffed glue and
ether and what somebody claimed was cocaine. When we wheeled our parents whining station wagons
out onto the street we left a patch of rubber half a block long. We drank gin and grape juice, Tango,
Thunderbird, and Bali Hai. We were nineteen. We were bad. We read Andre Gide and struck elaborate
poses to show that we didn t give a shit about anything. (Boyle 129)
This self description of the narrator says it all. He gives a brutal, yet inflated description of himself
and his friends that gives the reader a very round main character.
The setting in both of these short stories is the essence of their themes. The authors have drawn
characters that parallel their settings. From this, the reader can draw many conclusions and insights
about the themes of the stories. The Storm occurs in Louisiana

Rhetorical Analysis Of Patrick Henry
In the Patrick Henry s speech at the Virginia Convention Patrick Henry tries to persuade the colonist
to fight a war against the English, he does this through several main rhetorical strategies, imagery,
emotional appeal, and allusion. Patrick Henry uses imagery to get the listeners attention, as he relates
the to the dumb sailors who would get killed by the sirons cause they would be caught in their beauty
and singing. Patrick Henry uses emotional appeal to get the listeners on his side, by bringing up
slavery because if they do not fight back they can become slaves. Patrick henry uses allusion so he can
get the listeners to fight back, he butters them up and gives them a couple reasons on why they should
not fight back but then hit them with the news saying that they have to fight back. Patrick Henrys
speech was good because he used Imagery, Emotional appeal, and allusion and that really grabbed the
listeners attention and made them go to war. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He relates them as a dumb sailor that would get led into a trap by the beautiful sirons who would get
their attention by singing and when the sailors get close the sirons would attack them and kill them.
The listeners are the sailors because they are not willing to fight back for their freedom and even their
life. This makes the people put themselves in the sailors position and think about what they are doing
and they will soon come to realize that they will have to fight back. Patrick Henry using imagery is
really powerful in the speech because this is what made the people understand that they have to go to

School Superintendents Responsibilities

Literary Analysis Of Blessing By Imtiaz Dharker
The poem, Blessing by Imtiaz Dharker, shows what life would be like without water. It is so special
that it is like a kindly god . The author uses various literacy devices to convey her subject.
The poem opens with the statement there is never enough water , sharply piercing the readers with a
reality that lacks water. The poet wants us to stop and imagine just for a second what it would be like
without water, and realise how much we are dependent on this god . She then draws a scene of what it
would be like when this kindly god enters into the water deprived reality. They are filled with
euphoria, elated that such a blessing has entered into their lives. The contrast between these two
scenes, the two emotions of despair and elation ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The author applies vivid verbs like crack and crashes to emphasize the following technique. For
example, the vivid verb crack in the quote the skin cracks like a pod aids the simile like a pod in
describing the pod drying out and cracking so loudly that we can hear it happening right next to our
ears. Another example of a vivid verb is crashes in the quote The municiple pipe bursts, silver crashes
to the ground... . The vivid verb helps the visual imagery of water bursting out of the pipe in crashing
onto the ground like the powerful, fierce voice of a...god . The sibilance in the small splash vibrates in
our minds as we hear the drip of [water] splish splashing into the tin mug . The drop of water is so
small that Dharker uses the onomatopoeia of echo to convey what it sounds like when the drop of
water hits the bottom of the tin mug. The sound bounces off the walls of the mug it is held captive in.
It also conveys that water is scarce that only a drop can be found to fill an entire tin mug. The heavy
sibilance in sometimes, the sudden rush of fortune imitates the roar of water as it crashes and smashes
onto the streets. This show of power of water exhibits that it can really be like a god . It is no wonder
that a the religious diction of congregation is used to depict the people that comes out to worship this
deity roar of tongues to sing hymns to glorify this divine being.
In addition to descriptive and language techniques, Dharker also uses structure to communicate with
her readers about the subject of water. She uses enjambment in stanza two to copy the movement of
the drop of water on its way to the bottom of the mug. Additionally, she applies enjambent in stanza
three to mimic the water bursts out of the pipe and flows along the

Cultural Analysis of Boyz N the Hood Essay
The Boyz Next Door
Up until the early 1990s, the decay of inner city America largely went unnoticed by the general
American public. However, the rise in popularity of gangster rap and the release of such films as New
Jack City and Menace II Society drew the publics attention toward the largely ignored urban areas. Of
all the films in the genre that came out, though, one in particular stood out. Boyz N the Hood, directed
by John Singleton, became widely acknowledged as the definitive film for inner city African
Americans. Regardless of age, race, or religion, the film s powerful and gritty imagery captivated
audiences nationwide. Though many Americans had a general idea of the rough lifestyle endured by
many inner city dwellers, the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Other incidents again ranged from nonfatal stabbings and shootings to fistfights (Baker 4). The subject
matter in the film was so controversial and strikingly realistic that audiences nationwide broke out in
rage and rioted. Culturally the world was experiencing a facelift as well. Popular music was shifting
from the larger than life hair bands of the 1980s to the gritty gangster rap popularized by artists such
as N.W.A. and the 2 Live Crew. The hip hop movement was also being felt in the fashion world where
the popular styles tended to reflect what popular rappers were wearing in their music videos. As Susan
Bordo stated in her article, Beauty (Re)discovers the Male Body, the mainstream successes of hip hop,
along with the attractive rebellious images displayed by popular artists of the genre, lead to a
widespread hip hop inspired trend in fashion that was popular among all classes of people (Bordo

of Thieves, and Beauty and the Beast helped rake in profits like never before seen. Also, the success of
Boyz N the Hood set off a spree of films directed towards the black audience with releases such as
Menace II Society and Dead Presidents. Of all the various aspects of Boyz N the Hood that received
critical acclaim, the realism of the film, above all, is what made the movie so powerful. Similarly to

Essay On A Streetcar Named Desire
Have you seen the plays Skin of Our Teeth, Home of the Brave, All My Sons, or Lost in the Stars?
Probably not. Why is it that today, it is still common to hear references to Stanley s STELL
LAHHHHH in a Streetcar Named Desire, while few other plays of the 1940s remain relevant? First,
Streetcar dared to delve into sensitive social topics, from mental illness to homosexuality to addiction,
and even mortality. Tennessee Williams story of a young couple, Stanley and Stella, whose seemingly
happy marriage is disrupted when Stella s sister, Blanche, comes to town and brings her disastrous
history with her, has captivated audiences throughout time with its highly developed characters,

To Blanche and Stanley, masculinity is defined purely by forceful actions and sexuality. Societal
pressures on men forced Stanley to grow up with little ability to express himself without the use of
force and a constant urge to display and promote his sexual prowess. Through the character of Stanley,
Williams highlights the pressure men feel to be aggressive and active in sex.
On the contrary, the expectations and double standards of society pressure Blanche to behave
prudently and conservatively, against her nature. Blanche admits to Stella the pressure she feels to
appear demure when she shares, It isn t enough to be soft. You ve got to be soft and attractive. And I I
m fading now! I don t know how much longer I can turn the trick (92). Throughout Blanche s stay
with her sister, it becomes apparent that though she desperately attempts to appear a quintessential
southern belle, it goes against her truest nature.
Beyond admitting she feels pressure to behave modestly, Blanche also lies about her alcohol use,
sexual past, and potential suitors. Her attempts to conceal her inappropriate behaviors make further
evident the pressure she feels to appear as dainty, pure and desirable as possible. After insisting to
Mitch that the stories about her are nothing but rumors, Blanche momentarily admits, Yes, I had many
intimacies with strangers. After the death of Allan intimacies with strangers was all I seemed able to

The Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe
The Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe, also known as the Holocaust Memorial, is a
monument in Berlin to commemorate the Jewish victims of the Holocaust. The Memorial for the
Murdered Jews of Europe causes us to reflect on how the transgressive gesture of architecture puts the
issue of balance between the medium and the message into question. The memorial could have been
viewed as a way to threaten the importance of remembrance. According to Elke Grenzer, Architecture
itself in a commemorative gesture because it wants to commemorate its action in its present as
something that might not be lost in the future. An abundance of political drama about the memorial
almost caused the world to forget the significance of the structure. After the Berlin Wall came down,
Germany had to find their own self identity while memorializing the Jews, which led to a debate on
how to successfully move on as a nation. The monument appears to be the preserver of Holocaust
memory, however it is the people of Germany and what they created after visiting the memorial that
safeguards the Holocaust memory. The Memorial for the Murdered Jews of Europe avoids giving a
full description of Germany s role in the Final Solution. As noted in the article, The Topographies of
Memory in Berlin: The Neue Wache and the Memorial for the Murdered Jews of Europe, Elke
Grenzer pointed out that Germany was responsible for creating a memorial that not only included

Animal Rights In Animal Testing
Using animals in research and to test the safety of products has been a topic of heated debate for
decades. According to data collected by F. Barbara Orlans for her book, In the Name of Science:
Issues in Responsible Animal Experimentation, sixty percent of all animals used in testing are used in
biomedical research and product safety testing (62). People have different feelings for animals; many
look upon animals as companions while others view animals as a means for advancing medical
techniques or furthering experimental research. However individuals perceive animals, the fact
remains that animals are being exploited by research facilities and cosmetics companies all across the
country and all around the world. Although humans often benefit from successful animal research, the
pain, the suffering, and the deaths of animals are not worth the possible human benefits. Therefore,
animals should not be used in research or to test the safety of products. First, animals rights are
violated when they are used in research. Tom Regan, a philosophy professor at North Carolina State
University, states: Animals have a basic moral right to respectful treatment. . . .This inherent value is
not respected when animals are reduced to being mere tools in a scientific experiment (qtd. in Orlans
26). Animals and people are alike in many ways; they both feel, think, behave, and experience pain.
Thus, animals should be treated with the same respect as humans. Yet animals rights are violated

Unemployment And The Rate Of Inflation
Unemployment and the rate of Inflation are two main problems faced by most economies around the
world. Lower rates of each are sought after in order to create and maintain a more stable economy.
Unemployment rate can be officially defined as a measure of the prevalence of unemployment and it
is calculated as a percentage by dividing the number of unemployed individuals by all individuals
currently in the labour force. The inflation rate is the percentage rate of change of a price index over
time. The Retail Prices Index is also a measure of inflation that is commonly used in the United
Kingdom. It is broader than the CPI and contains a larger basket of goods and services.
By obtaining data for two countries, UK and France, on unemployment rate and CPI, which allowed
me to calculate inflation rate and then further the change in inflation rate, I have been able to construct
the table above. This table clearly shows the comparison between the two countries between the time
period of 1970 2013. From this table I am able to create graphs to represent the data in an aesthetically
pleasing format a picture says a thousand words. Firstly I will begin by discussing the unemployment
rate graph.
This line graph represents the comparison of the changes of unemployment rate data from 1970 2013
for the countries France and United Kingdom. At 1970 France s unemployment rate remains
consistent for 4 years while the UK s rises slightly however generally during the 1970s the

Holden Caulfield s The Catcher Of The Rye
It is evident that the protagonist, Holden Caulfield suffers from depression due to the death of his
younger brother, Allie in The Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger. Due to Allie s death, Holden s
actions elicit his own views of the world and the phonies around him. Holden has tunnel vision to
living a simple, happy life and isolates himself from those around him who understand the concept of
growing up. Salinger uses a hat, a museum, and a merry go round to illuminate Holden s emotion, the
notion of adulthood, and the reality of growing up. Sigmund Freud s psychoanalytic theory and the
studies of Ego, Superego, and Id are used to show the significance of Holden s behavior in The
Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger.
The unconventional hat that is in Holden s possession symbolizes his wish to hold onto the simplicity
of childhood and separate himself from the phonies that surround him. The hat also comforts Holden
in the aspect that it holds onto his brother s childhood that was lost due to his premature death. Holden
is terrified of growing up due to the fact that it leads to the phoniness of adulthood. It is justified
throughout the novel that Holden believes no one acts how they truly feel; and it is hard to trust and be

Inca Government Intervention
Government intervention is common in today s market society. Although difficult to identify at times,
it is ever present in most transactions that occur. The idea behind the involvement is promotion of the
welfare of the citizens that reside within the government s rule. Whether establishing or promoting
economic growth, employment, income equality, or stabilizing interest rates, the government feels that
their hand in the transaction is for the benefit of the consumer. Market failures can be argued in favor
or in contradiction of big government. No matter the opinion of the individual, the masses are able to
enjoy cleaner air, water, and ground due to increased guidelines set by governing officials. The air we
breathe is full of pollutants; some of which are man made, others are found naturally and released
during chemical changes. The Clean Air Act, which is a constant work in progress, is designed to
reduce emissions by corporations to include those that are considered greenhouse gasses (Cooke Bell
2014). The gasses are a result of unfiltered, or unregulated, production that creates spillover. Water, a
renewable resource like air, is also a regulated waste product. A lot of chemicals, debris, and sewage
can flow from households and industries. Considered one of the most effective ... Show more content

The argument has equal ammunition on either side. Socialism, or totalitarianism is the extreme
measure of government involvement. The opposite, at least in economic terms, is Laissez faire. This
true market economy is the state of free trade, 100% lacking of government involvement in trades.
Although neither system of government or lack thereof is prevalent, or succeeding, they are the hope
for some individuals. Whether in agreeance with all, some, or no interference on part of the
government, in the United States, the government has their hands in practically every

The Epic Of Judea Short Story
Another day, and more dead sheep littered the hills of Judea. A fierce pack of roaming wolves had
struck again. All the shepherd boys of Judea, on high alert, had been arming themselves with
pitchforks and knives to defend their helpless herds of sheep. One of these shepherd boys went by the
name of Joshua. Joshua tended to the sheep of his frail father, and looked after his family. He was a
good son, and a loving brother. Mentiri, another shepherd boy, was the biggest and strongest of all the
shepherd boys in the village. For his strength, good looks, and physical prowess, he was the pride of
the village. On a warm summer night on the hills of Judea, under a full moon, Joshua and Mentiri
were tending to their flock. A low howl came from the far side of the hill. The far off ... Show more

bravery in his heart, like no other feeling he d had felt before. He grabbed his pitchfork and stoically
held his ground. He glanced at Mentiri, and to his surprise, saw fear in his eyes and knew he was on
his own. He knew he would get no aid from the larger, stronger man. The largest wolf, who seemed to
be the leader of the pack of seven wolves, sprang at Joshua, its jaws wide open. Joshua blocked the
wolf with his pitchfork, and stabbed him in the throat with his knife. He paused and looked around.
Mentiri was no where to be found, for the pride of the village had fled to a nearby cave and was

with equal ferocity, killing them one by one, as they tore at his flesh. The cowering Mentiri could hear

The Impact Of Modern Social Workers On The Community
Introduction Modern social workers participate actively in helping people to obtain rights, services,
benefits and opportunities that they might not otherwise obtain through micro policy advocacy, ?often
prioritize the needs of vulnerable populations when they engage in advocacy? (Jansson, 2016, p. 21).
Through community immersion, the social worker gains an understanding of the community attributes
and desiderata, requiring them to utilize their experience and expertise to advocate policies that will
satisfy the client?s needs (NASW, n.d.). Furthermore, when social workers immerse themselves in the
community, it becomes an act of care and concern to serve the community. Compelling them to
implement new changes, depict workable intervention schemes, and generate attainable treatment
plans to satisfy the needs of the individuals, families and community. The community that will be
addressed in this paper is National City. It is located five miles south of downtown San Diego and ten
miles away from the US Mexico border in Tijuana.
National City is divided into three sub communities based on their regional parks: Kimball, El Toyon
and Las Palmas (KTU+A, 2014). Because of National City?s unique location in close proximity to
downtown San Diego, it is considered an urban city, as defined by Jannson (2016), with a lot of
commercial activity and impoverishment. Depending on the social worker?s role, knowledge on the
type of community is crucial; when there is a deficit of

Essay On Nanoparticles
In recent years, inorganic and chemosynthesized superparamagnetic iron oxide nanoparticles
(SIONPs) such as Fe3O4 magnetic nanoparticles (Fe3O4 MgNPs) have attracted extensive interest for
their biocompatible (Kunzmann et al., 2011) and low toxic properties mainly in the human body

tools in related fields. Magnetite nanoparticles is the most studied for many technological applications
in biomedicine, such as high sensitivity biomolecular magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) (Bulte et al.,

Whereas, marine macroalgae have richness in minerals (Wells et al., 2017) that can be used for the
greener route synthesis of Fe3O4 MgNPs, and as bionanofactories materials (LewisOscar et al., 2016)
have the ability to accumulate metals and reduces ions, and could be the superior contender for
biosynthesis of metallic NPs (Davis et al., 1998). However, the synthesis of stable Fe3O4 MgNPs
using algae extracts are very complicated due to the high reactivity, high particle instability, great
propensity of iron ions to oxidization and reduced with a wide array of various chemical compounds,
and high tendency to aggregate into agglomerates within the solution (EL Kassas et al., 2016;

For the Golden State Warriors the job of game operations or game experience is a very important
position. The official game operations leader has to make sure all the entertainment the fans see and

with the halftime shows and the fan interaction during time outs All this add ups to long hours and

Understanding And Exploring Assumptions Of Assumptions
Understanding and Exploring Assumptions Assumptions are important, but not in the way; many
would think. The term assumption sometimes is associated with the word guess, but that s not the
meaning as it concerned statistics to ensure that your data. In the area of statistics , the word
assumption signifies completeness of the data collected (Triola, 2008) . The assumption aids the
researcher in verifying the data because if the data does not meet the requirement, the researcher must,
then treat the data in a different way to ensure the best interpolation of the data. Assumption is
required in completing statically analyses: histograms, levenes test for homogeneity of variance,
normality, normal pp plots as well in the use of chi square (Field, 2013; Hayes Cai, 2007; Triola,
2008)witch use the assumption of random sampling. In the use of ANOVA method, the assumption of
normality is the basis for the technique. Assumptions aid in identifying deviation of data as it concern
normality. Perhaps one way to identify or investigate deviation is to simply view a histogram from
within a package such as SPSS, Minitab, SAS and Statdisk. Assumptions matter for a number of
reasons, according to (Field, 2013; Hayes Cai, 2007) there are perhaps three components of
importance when talking about assumptions, e.g., Parameter estates, confidence intervals, and
significance tests. Download Festival Histograms and p p plots Figure 1 Day one Curve Figure

Columbus, The Indians, And Human Progress
Chapter 1 COLUMBUS, THE INDIANS, AND HUMAN PROGRESS
Thesis Statement:
Zinn argues that the perspective of indigenous people should not be omitted and argues that their
perspectives are as significant as any other. He provides insight and perspectives of the Indians to
describe how the heinous acts of the Europeans were unjustified. He also discusses that the Europeans
had a continual motive of exploring during that time which was to increase the power/authority of the
Spanish Crown by whatever means necessary, usually leading to violent wars.
B. Evidence used:
The Europeans main goal revolved around the stability of power of the Spanish Crown. The Spanish
Crown was focused on expanding their military so they needed resources such as gold to pay for the
constantly increasing military budget. Columbus used this idea to help get resources such as, boats,
men, food and weapons from the Spanish Crown. This is important because it describes the desperate
need of gold that the Spaniards had which ultimately led to the gruesome acts they committed.
Although the Spaniards and English were greeted with hospitality, food, and gifts they still sought war
because it was not enough. Zinn mentions this quote, They willingly traded everything they owned... ,
which shows that Cortes and Columbus were both greeted by the Indians with kindness. However,
they both used that to their advantage tricking them into slavery and oppression. he was so anxious to

archetypally included in the genre of comedy. In this essay, I will shed light on the use of comedic
elements in one such movie, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (1984). I will begin by citing
specific examples from the movie, with references to the three theories of humor. Subsequently, I will

Is Heathcliff A Hero Or A Villain
Can you love someone so much that it drives you mad? In Emily Bronte s gothic romance novel,
Wuthering Heights, she presents a character, Heathcliff, who is driven with so much passion for his
one true love, Catherine, that he resorts to acts of violence to defend his love for her. Heathcliff is an
antihero and his character has many complexities due to his undying love for Catherine. Although
Heathcliff s character is complex, most of his violence originates within him simply because he suffers
from a deep passionate love for the one and only Catherine.
In the beginning, the narrator says Heathcliff s quietness is not because of his gentleness but rather his
hardness. Accordingly, this foreshadows that Heathcliff s character will be very prominent in the story
because the reader can interpret this quietness that is due to hardness may be a probable conflict later
in the story. Heathcliff s defensiveness is a consequence of his love for Catherine. She later marries

The first time Kincaid shows this conflict is when the mother says walk like a lady and not like the
slut you are so bent on becoming Secondly, when teaching her daughter how to dress, the mother
shows how to hem a dress to prevent yourself from looking like the slut I know you are so bent on
becoming (Kincaid #). Both times the mother refers to her daughter s desire to become a slut, Kincaid
exposes the daughter s immaturity and misunderstanding of social norms. In the daughter s youth, she
does not understand how to dress and act in pubic, so the mother reprimands her by identifying the
bad behavior and provides instruction for the proper way to act. Although the mother s instructions are
very clear, the daughter still becomes a slut. Later, the mother instructs this is how to behave in the
presence of men who don t know you very well, and this way they won t recognize immediately the
slut I have warned you against becoming revealing the daughter, at this point in the story, has become
a slut (Kincaid #). The daughter s direct defiance of her mother s instructions shows her lack of
respect and immaturity. Even though the daughter has gone against her mother, the mothers love for

Social injustice is an evil which has been deliberated on in the Old Testament. It is the unkindness of a
society where there are incidental inequalities between people of different ethnic origins, religions,
social status, and gender. In this set of society immorality is considered to be high. Some of these
social injustices include consideration of advantages and disadvantages in society that make it

An historical link probably existed between Amos and the prophets Micah and Isaiah. Jeremiah 26:18f
indicates that Micah preached in Jerusalem during the time of the ministry of Isaiah, and so it is likely
that the young Micah may have been influenced by Amos preaching.
How to curb this social evil
This social evils should be curbed by each person moving closer to the Lord and live, this He put it in
(Amos 5:6 8). Amos emphasizes on the need to be righteous and hence remain faithful to the covenant
of God who will always be present in our lives.
In (Amos 5:14 16) we can also curb the injustice by seeking good and not evil so that we may live as
the Lord the God of Host will be with us. On the same note he teaches that we can curb injustices by
hating evil, loving good and establishing justice.
In Amos prophecy, he says that true life in Israel can only flourish when God s concern for the
vulnerable finds embodiment in its social life. He notes that such embodiment requires that the justice
has to truly be justice aimed at correcting wrongs done. Indeed those who have been involved in
committing injustices are to be

Management and Assumptions
Assumption based planning in project management is a post planning method, that helps companies to
deal with uncertainty. It is used to identify the most important assumptions in a company s business
plans, test these assumptions and think of hedging actions and what if scenarios. Conventional
business planning methods operate on the premise that managers can extrapolate future results from a
well understood base of information from the past. However, for new businesses and projects this way
of planning often does not comply. Most of the time there is no past knowledge and if there s any past
knowledge available, predicting the future out of it is nearly impossible. The dilemma is that corporate
planning techniques often presume more ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
What are we going to do if we re not certain about the size of the market by the end of September next
year? We assume that there the product is not very sensitive to the consumer price, how can we show
that we re right? Sometimes the mere identification of assumptions immediately leads to a change in
the business plan. It is for that reason that ABP should be strongly interwoven into the whole business
planning process. Implicit and explicit assumptions Assumptions according to Wikipedia are
propositions that are assumed, i.e., treated within the context of a discussion as if it were known to be
true or false . But although the Wikipedia definition of an assumption is correct, a better definition of
assumptions in the context of business planning and ABP is given by RAND. An assumption is an
assertion about some characteristic of the future that underlies the current operations or plans of an
organization There are multiple types of assumptions. The most known derivation is between implicit
and explicit assumptions. Another classification used in ABP is the derivation between primary and
secondary assumptions. This latter categorization is discussed in the Critical assumption planning
Wiki. The two classifications are not mutually exclusive; this means that an assumption can be both an
explicit and a primary assumption, while another assumption can be implicitly derived. Explicit
assumptions are assumptions of which the

Essay On Law Of Law
Federal laws and policies are more than just lists of actions that come with jail time. It also includes
legislation that endorses certain aspects and solves problems facing the country as a whole, as well as
individual states*****. The process by which ideas become laws and policies is the journey of the
legislative process. It is through this process that an examination of Senate bill 2517 , the Combat
Terrorist Use of Social Media Act of 2016, how it is progressing though Congress, and its likelihood
of becoming law can take place. The process through which bills become laws is long and somewhat
convoluted. First, an idea is created. Anyone can come up an issue they believe needs to be resolved.

If the Rules committee decides to allow the bill, it is debated on the House floor. Amendments may be
added, sections edited, revised, or struck out altogether***. If the majority of the house votes in favor
of the bill, it is sent to Senate where a similar process takes place. In Senate, a senator takes the bill
and presents it, after which, if it is approved, it is sent to committee once again for more questionings
and public hearings***. Following the same model as in the House, if it can pass through the
subcommittee and committee, it is produced for the larger Senate. If it is called up by the floor
majority leader, who decides whether or not to let it appear before the whole of the Senate, it will
again be amended and edited until a vote takes place. In the case of a majority yes vote, the bill is sent
back to the House. If the House disagrees with any part of the changes, the bill is then sent to the
Conference committee. The conference committee is made up of members of both the House and the
Senate and from both parties who together work out a compromise****. Once a compromise is
reached, the bill is sent back to both the Senate and the House for yet another round of voting***. If
the bill makes is through both the House and the Senate, it is then sent to the president for his or her
review. If the president approves the bill, it is then signed into law, if

Charles Dickens And The Victorian Era
Charles Dickens and the Victorian Era The various themes and ideas of the Victorian era are perfectly
showcased in the many novels and short stories of Charles Dickens. The writers of the Victorian era
produced an enormous amount of the greatest novels to ever be written those that were realistic,
thickly plotted, crowded with characters, and long. They, more often than not, showed the
characteristics of the different social classes in society. Generally humorous, most books were targeted
to the middle, as they could relate to them the most easily. Dickens own works have extensive plots
woven throughout each of them, one in particular being that of Bleak House. That novel is considered
to be Dickens longest and contains a grand total of fifty characters, all of which are interconnected by
some standard. Its plot surrounds a mysterious murder and lawsuit. A large portion of Dickens
inspiration for his works came from his own childhood and adolescence. He was born Charles John
Huffam Dickens to parents John and Elizabeth on February 7, 1812. Charles was the second of their
eight children. As a child, the family employed two servants. One was named Mary Weller, and she
was instrumental in Charles life. She told him and his siblings made up stories, which she swore were
true, and thus stretched his imagination and fascination for storytelling. His father was employed as a
clerk in the

  • 3. Rhetorical Analysis Of Fredrick Douglas s Speech Fredrick Douglas, a freed slave, delivered a speech on July fourth 1852. This speech highlighted the hypocrisy of the United States and revealed how citizens, slaves in particular, perceived Independence Day. Douglas s speech exposed the nation, with a well constructed argument that effectively solidified the main and most important point. Douglas used several rhetorical strategies throughout his speech to argue his side. Fredrick Douglas used the rhetorical devices, ethos to gain credibility, allusions to show comparisons, and pathos to spark an emotional response in his speech to defend his claim about the hypocrisy of Independence Day. Douglas was the first African American citizen to hold a high U.S. government rank. Douglas gained recognition by being an abolitionist, journalist, and powerful speaker, he was also born a slave. These two highly contradictory characteristics gave him an edge when delivering his Fourth of July speech. Douglas began his speech by asking, ...why am I called upon to speak here today? What have I or those I represent to do with your national independence? By asking two rhetorical questions, Douglas allowed his audience to contemplate. This contemplation leads to the realization, for most, that Douglas has more than enough credibility to be presenting and speaking. Douglas establishes his importance and credibility in the first two lines of his speech. Another way he established credibility is by making himself cohesive with the audience. In the second paragraph Douglas says, Would to God, both for your sakes and ours, than an affirmative answer could be truthfully returned to these questions. In the mid 1800 s religion was an overwhelmingly large piece of people s lives. By referring to religion Douglas can establish that he is a godly man and can be trusted. He also established a connection to a large part of his audience by just mentioning God. Throughout the introduction to Douglas s speech, he built up his credibility and allows himself to appeal to more of the audience by using ethos. This credibility not only created a concrete connection with the white audience, but also with the African American audience. By doing this, Douglas allowed himself to appeal to a ... • 4. The Importance Of The Internet Speech In the majority of expression cases, educators have challenged reprisals for their speech outside the classroom including their Internet speech. During the 1970s and early 1980s, courts relied on the Pickering guidelines in striking down a variety of restrictions on teachers rights to express views on matters of public concern. Since the early 1980s, however, courts have seemed increasingly inclined to view teachers and other public employees expression as relating to private employment disputes rather than to matters of public concern. Many courts relied on Connick in broadly interpreting what falls under the category of unprotected private grievances. To illustrate, courts considered the following types of expression to be unprotected: discussing salaries during a break; filing a grievance about being assigned a job sharing teaching position; accusing the superintendent of inciting student disturbances; sending sarcastic, critical memoranda to school officials; protesting unfavorable performance evaluations; and commenting about class size and lack of discipline. Yet, when courts have applied the Pickering balancing test, they often distinguished whether disruption to school operations was truly caused by the employee s speech versus the impermissible heckler s veto that is, courts have analyzed whether the disruption was caused by outsiders attempting to silence the speech instead of the speech itself. • 5. Manifest Destiny Research Paper Because of Manifest Destiny the United States faced potential wars and a great deal of inequality. Although it did have a few positive impacts, it mostly effected the country negatively. While Manifest Destiny brought the U.S. expansion along with immigration, it created inequity and promoted war which were not reasonable consequences for the countries progression. Those who heavily influenced the idea of Manifest Destiny like John O Sullivan, who also created it, said that it was what God wanted and therefore it was acceptable to do whatever was needed for the U.S. to obtain more land. O Sullivan opted for a war of conquest against Mexico. Although the U.S. was able to acquire California and New Mexico through this act, it was not a valid reason to invade Mexican territory and purloin land that did not belong to the United States. The article by Thomas Hietala states that leaders and private groups continued to seek more land from Native Americans, Central American countries and European governments. This is another example of inequality because Americans tried to take land from those who were seen as lesser than them so they could have more for themselves and leave Natives, Central Americans and Europeans with nothing. Manifest Destiny was not an acceptable excuse to take land and rights from people because they weren t considered fully American and therefore just gave the government an excuse to control those people so they could take what they wanted from ... Muslims In Films A decade following the 9/11 tragedy, two Muslim passengers, Masudur Rahman, an instructor of Arabic at the University of Memphis, and Mohamed Zaghloul, a religious leader at the Islamic Association of Greater Memphis, were asked to leave a commercial airliner (Delta/ASA) in Memphis, United States, during their flight in 2011 due to the pilot refusal to fly with them aboard. Apparently, the other passengers felt uncomfortable and frightened by their appearance and the clothes they worn (traditional Indian and Arab clothing) because of its similarity to the terrorist outfit in Hollywood movies. Due to this, they were forced to postpone their departure and book a ticket for the next flight. The representation of Muslims and Islam in the mainstream media such as films has been constantly depicted in a stereotypical way even after the 9/11 incident. Having reviewed more than a thousand films made since 1896, Dr Jack G. • 7. Dancing At Luughnasa Analysis In Dancing at Lughnasa (1990) by Brian Friel (b.1929), the author presents a memory play with themes of memory and migration, together with language and performance. The drama explores complex issues in the lives of invented characters (Lojek, 2006 in Gupta, 2012, p. 250). Friel s characters stress memory over history, the stage directions demonstrate a variety of events in an individual and communal position. The Mundy s family express their past with a social historical background, depicting their wishes and relationship in a maze of recollections, that are made of events or persons from their past. Moreover, the recollections of events foregrounds the theme of memory. However to consider the realistic features in tension with the role of memory, the audience must focus on Friel pretending presence of characters and incidents on stage, embedded within the text that provide a fundamental tone of loss and everyday details of the characters lives. • 8. Primary Purpose Of Horses The primary purpose of horses has definitely changed over decades. Around 4500 2500 BC, horses and donkeys were primarily used for meat and milk, mounts, draft, and waging war. They were used for traveling more than draft, since oxen were more effective with pulling and working in the fields. Overtime, the need for horses decreased in many areas that it was originally used for. Oxen were preferred in drafting, travelling by horseback was not as efficient anymore, they were poor meat animals, and more difficult to herd than sheep or cattle. These are the reasons that horses are not considered a commodity since they aren t grown for production or very useful to many. In the early 1700s, racing begins in Virginia, North Carolina and Maryland. People would bet on what horse would win the race and it was, and still is, a competitive sport. Barbara Orlans for her book, In the Name of Science: Issues in Responsible Animal Experimentation, sixty percent of all animals used in testing are used in biomedical research and product safety testing (62). People have different feelings for animals; many look upon animals as companions while others view animals as a means for advancing medical techniques or furthering experimental research. However individuals perceive animals, the fact remains that animals are being exploited by research facilities and cosmetics companies all across the country and all around the world. Although humans often benefit from successful animal research, the pain, the suffering, and the deaths of animals are not worth the possible human benefits. Therefore, animals should not be used in research or to test the safety of products. First, animals rights are violated when they are used in research. Tom Regan, a philosophy professor at North Carolina State University, states: Animals have a basic moral right to respectful treatment. . . .This inherent value is not respected when animals are reduced to being mere tools in a scientific experiment (qtd. in Orlans 26). Lower rates of each are sought after in order to create and maintain a more stable economy. Unemployment rate can be officially defined as a measure of the prevalence of unemployment and it is calculated as a percentage by dividing the number of unemployed individuals by all individuals currently in the labour force. The inflation rate is the percentage rate of change of a price index over time. The Retail Prices Index is also a measure of inflation that is commonly used in the United Kingdom. It is broader than the CPI and contains a larger basket of goods and services. Holden Caulfield s The Catcher Of The Rye It is evident that the protagonist, Holden Caulfield suffers from depression due to the death of his younger brother, Allie in The Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger. Due to Allie s death, Holden s actions elicit his own views of the world and the phonies around him. Holden has tunnel vision to living a simple, happy life and isolates himself from those around him who understand the concept of growing up. Salinger uses a hat, a museum, and a merry go round to illuminate Holden s emotion, the notion of adulthood, and the reality of growing up. Sigmund Freud s psychoanalytic theory and the studies of Ego, Superego, and Id are used to show the significance of Holden s behavior in The Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger. The unconventional hat that is in Holden s possession symbolizes his wish to hold onto the simplicity of childhood and separate himself from the phonies that surround him. The hat also comforts Holden in the aspect that it holds onto his brother s childhood that was lost due to his premature death. Holden is terrified of growing up due to the fact that it leads to the phoniness of adulthood. Whether establishing or promoting economic growth, employment, income equality, or stabilizing interest rates, the government feels that their hand in the transaction is for the benefit of the consumer. Market failures can be argued in favor or in contradiction of big government. No matter the opinion of the individual, the masses are able to enjoy cleaner air, water, and ground due to increased guidelines set by governing officials. The air we breathe is full of pollutants; some of which are man made, others are found naturally and released during chemical changes. The Clean Air Act, which is a constant work in progress, is designed to reduce emissions by corporations to include those that are considered greenhouse gasses (Cooke Bell 2014). The gasses are a result of unfiltered, or unregulated, production that creates spillover. Water, a renewable resource like air, is also a regulated waste product. All the shepherd boys of Judea, on high alert, had been arming themselves with pitchforks and knives to defend their helpless herds of sheep. One of these shepherd boys went by the name of Joshua. Joshua tended to the sheep of his frail father, and looked after his family. He was a good son, and a loving brother. • 23. The Impact Of Modern Social Workers On The Community Introduction Modern social workers participate actively in helping people to obtain rights, services, benefits and opportunities that they might not otherwise obtain through micro policy advocacy, ?often prioritize the needs of vulnerable populations when they engage in advocacy? (Jansson, 2016, p. 21). Through community immersion, the social worker gains an understanding of the community attributes and desiderata, requiring them to utilize their experience and expertise to advocate policies that will satisfy the client?s needs (NASW, n.d.). Furthermore, when social workers immerse themselves in the community, it becomes an act of care and concern to serve the community. Compelling them to implement new changes, depict workable intervention schemes, and generate attainable treatment plans to satisfy the needs of the individuals, families and community. The community that will be addressed in this paper is National City. It is located five miles south of downtown San Diego and ten miles away from the US Mexico border in Tijuana. National City is divided into three sub communities based on their regional parks: Kimball, El Toyon and Las Palmas (KTU+A, 2014). Because of National City?s unique location in close proximity to downtown San Diego, it is considered an urban city, as defined by Jannson (2016), with a lot of commercial activity and impoverishment. The term assumption sometimes is associated with the word guess, but that s not the meaning as it concerned statistics to ensure that your data. In the area of statistics , the word assumption signifies completeness of the data collected (Triola, 2008) . The assumption aids the researcher in verifying the data because if the data does not meet the requirement, the researcher must, then treat the data in a different way to ensure the best interpolation of the data. Assumption is required in completing statically analyses: histograms, levenes test for homogeneity of variance, normality, normal pp plots as well in the use of chi square (Field, 2013; Hayes Cai, 2007; Triola, 2008)witch use the assumption of random sampling. In the use of ANOVA method, the assumption of normality is the basis for the technique. Assumptions aid in identifying deviation of data as it concern normality. Perhaps one way to identify or investigate deviation is to simply view a histogram from within a package such as SPSS, Minitab, SAS and Statdisk. He provides insight and perspectives of the Indians to describe how the heinous acts of the Europeans were unjustified. He also discusses that the Europeans had a continual motive of exploring during that time which was to increase the power/authority of the Spanish Crown by whatever means necessary, usually leading to violent wars. B. Evidence used: The Europeans main goal revolved around the stability of power of the Spanish Crown. The Spanish Crown was focused on expanding their military so they needed resources such as gold to pay for the constantly increasing military budget. Columbus used this idea to help get resources such as, boats, men, food and weapons from the Spanish Crown. This is important because it describes the desperate need of gold that the Spaniards had which ultimately led to the gruesome acts they committed. Although the Spaniards and English were greeted with hospitality, food, and gifts they still sought war because it was not enough. However, for new businesses and projects this way of planning often does not comply. We assume that there the product is not very sensitive to the consumer price, how can we show that we re right? Sometimes the mere identification of assumptions immediately leads to a change in the business plan. It is for that reason that ABP should be strongly interwoven into the whole business planning process. Implicit and explicit assumptions Assumptions according to Wikipedia are propositions that are assumed, i.e., treated within the context of a discussion as if it were known to be true or false . But although the Wikipedia definition of an assumption is correct, a better definition of assumptions in the context of business planning and ABP is given by RAND. An assumption is an assertion about some characteristic of the future that underlies the current operations or plans of an organization There are multiple types of assumptions. The most known derivation is between implicit and explicit assumptions. Another classification used in ABP is the derivation between primary and secondary assumptions. This latter categorization is discussed in the Critical assumption planning Wiki. It is through this process that an examination of Senate bill 2517 , the Combat Terrorist Use of Social Media Act of 2016, how it is progressing though Congress, and its likelihood of becoming law can take place. In Senate, a senator takes the bill and presents it, after which, if it is approved, it is sent to committee once again for more questionings and public hearings***. Following the same model as in the House, if it can pass through the subcommittee and committee, it is produced for the larger Senate. If it is called up by the floor majority leader, who decides whether or not to let it appear before the whole of the Senate, it will again be amended and edited until a vote takes place. In the case of a majority yes vote, the bill is sent back to the House. If the House disagrees with any part of the changes, the bill is then sent to the Conference committee. That novel is considered to be Dickens longest and contains a grand total of fifty characters, all of which are interconnected by some standard. Its plot surrounds a mysterious murder and lawsuit. A large portion of Dickens inspiration for his works came from his own childhood and adolescence. He was born Charles John Huffam Dickens to parents John and Elizabeth on February 7, 1812.
