Egyptian Worship Gods Essay
The Egyptians worshiped many gods and Goddesses, Building temples which they offered them food,
water, clothes three times a day. They carved statues to show their many forms like the Horus and the
goddess of battle, or Bastet, a proud cat. Some were worshiped in only one place like crocodile god
Sobek, who lived in the river. Others, like the sun god Amun Re, were worshiped everywhere. There
were many ceremonies and ways to worshiping gods, Some of them are the Opet Festival, Amen s

Why Schools ShouldnT Have Homework
The American School System Shouldn t Have Homework
Schools in America shouldn t have homework. It has been proven to not help with test scores or
school work, but what it does help with, is lowering students health. I believe that schools should
assign little or no homework, It does little to help and more to hurt the students. For instance, most
students don t have computers and are financially unable to get one. This is unfair and can cause the
student to be behind on their schoolwork. Another reason is that students are so loaded with
schoolwork and other family/friend activities that they don t have enough time to do what they really
need to. Lastly, the Finnish school system has shorter school days, more recess, and starts at the age of
7. Yet, it has been proven that they get one of the highest test scores internationally. First, there s the
case where students aren t able to afford a computer. This causes to affect their grades, school learning
experience, and their mental health poorly. Most students have parents or guardians that constantly
want them to get good grades and when that isn t possible some students don t take it very easily.
Another thing is that it can hurt their grades because now in most schools their system relies greatly
on computers. Teachers use computers for assigning homework, being able to research topics in class,
and giving weekly assignments that are made to be done at home also. This can make a student
become behind in

The Community Emergency Response ( Cert )
challenge for communities because of limited available funds (pp. 104). However, communities have
access to federal funding that will assist them in the expansion of mutual assistance practices where
communities share equipment that is rarely used. Also, there is the development of effective
technologies and the significant reduction in cost has allowed the once out of reach equipment to be
more available (pp. 104). It is paramount that community members and officials are equipped to
conduct the tasks required of them. Therefore, training is a pivotal component as the businesses and
nongovernmental organizations operating in the community are called upon to assist in the overall

The importance of the community s involvement in emergency management has propelled FEMA to
introduce the Whole Community concept in December 2011 in disaster preparedness (pp. 108). This
approach engages all members of the community including individuals, government at all levels,
organizations, businesses, community groups and others involved in preparing the community as a
whole to deal with disasters. It is the philosophical belief of FEMA that utilizing leveraging all the
resources of the the collective team in the community will help to prepare, protect, respond to and
recover from, and mitigate against all disasters. The engagement of the community in an authentic
dialogue will also empower individuals to identify their needs, the existing resources and find out
ways to address any shortfall in them. FEMA also reinforces that with the community s involvement,
FEMA is better able to reach and deliver services more efficiently and cost effectively to those
affected in a disaster.
One of the most important concerns of community members is how they will evacuate in the event of
a disaster. FEMA has developed the National Prevention Framework (NPF) that outlines the whole
community approach to a disaster discovery of intelligence or information regarding an imminent
threat to homeland and security. Although, communities have participated in some form of evacuation
planning as part of emergency management, not many have been able to conduct a

Analysis Of The Indian Camp By Ernest Hemingway
The Indian camp is considered as one of Hemingway s best short stories. For the most part, it focuses
on the relationship between father and son, and life experiences like: childbirth, loss of innocence and
suicide. Nick Adams, the son of the doctor, accompanies his father to the Indian camp where a woman
that was pregnant has complications giving birth. Dr. Adams ends up performing a caesarian section,
ultimately saving her and the baby s life, but then the woman s husband commits suicide. This is Nick
s first traumatic incident, and the first sight of personal suffering. This is shown with his various
questions he asked his father, like do ladies always have such a hard time having babies? (3) and do
many men kill themselves, Daddy? (3), the repercussions of life seem as clear as day to Nick for the
first time in his life.
The short story leaves us with a number of questions, such as why does the Indian husband kill
himself? What is Uncle George s role, and why does he disappear by the end of the story? Although
the story has a father son dynamic, thinking of these questions push the audience to read beyond the
fact that Nick s father saved the Indian woman, and pay attention to the more traumatizing aspects.
But Nick decides to reject empathy completely with him feeling he would never die (Tyler 39). His
rejection of having objectivity has Nick become like his father, and have lack of humility towards the
Indian woman. Indian camp was created with many aspects of

Otosclerosis is a disorder that is inherited that can cause loss of hearing because of lack
of the sound being intensified. The article, Bone mineral density measurements in Otosclerosis

Otosclerosis and compare their bone mineral density. As this disease progresses it can lead to
conductive hearing loss. Both Otosclerosis and osteoporosis have things in common, such as
collagen gene deformities in both. Blood was collected from the participants of the study as a

Police Job Fair Essay
Introduction: (option 7)
As students, we sometime get burnt out during mid semester, due dates are forgotten, test are not
studied for and ultimately grade begin to decline. It is not because we are lazy or potentially trying to
fail ourselves, but because we sometime begin to lose interest. Therefore, once in a while it is nice to
refresh our interest with things such as guest speakers or events. On November 15th I had the
opportunity to attend the Gwinnett County Police job fair. Going into the fair I had different
expectations of how it would be and I left feeling very excited about possibly working for an agency
such as Gwinnett. What I expected:
Prior to this year, while it is possible, I have grasped that not all aspiring police officers can work for a
federal agency right out of college. Therefore, instead of making a federal option my plan (A), I have
made it by plan (B), hoping to work local first then transfer to federal if I choose. In addition, I used to
believe the local police only did patrol work. I was not aware that police also have many other
interesting tasks. After attending the Gwinnett County Police job fair, I can ... Show more content on

Colonial Motivations
There were various motivations for establishing colonies in the New World. From the perspective of
the settlers, one could conclude there were two primary motivations, religious freedom, and wealth.
Depending upon one s status in the colonial times, one could consider wealth as having an abundance
of land and natural resources, not necessarily power or an abundance of gold per say. Therefore, the
poor, rich, and middle class had their own expectations of wealth and religious freedom that motivated
establishing the colonies. Similarly, the European powers that were sending supplies and funding the
colonial establishments were driven to expand their wealth and impose their religious principles. In

Euthyphro Interpretative Essay
Interpretive essay for Euthyphro
Euthyphro, a priest in Plato s dialogue, strives throughout the reading to teach his religion to Socrates.
Since Euthyphro portrays himself to be the most intelligent human to mankind, Socrates believes that
he must know every words meaning and that guides Socrates to ask him about a word he is curious
about; piety. Piety is something he is very curious about and asks Euthyphro many questions about it.
Euthyphro gives five intricate versions of piety, but one of them is peculiar and brings to my attention.
On page 7 line a, Euthyphro states that what is dear to the gods is pious, what is not is impious. This
definition poses a valid argument and an invalid argument. The implications I gather from it is that

Force Lab Results
During this lab, my partner and I had to figure out what our variables were in order to start the tests.
Our independent variables were mass, surface area, height, and the force applied. Our dependent
variable was the amount of time it took the object took to reach the ground. Lastly, our control
variables were the type of object, height, planet, force, temperature, and air resistance. We then began
our experiment by gathering all our materials for each factor that was being tested. We did our tests
several times to get an accurate answer. For some of the tests, we could not figure out which object hit
the ground first, so we used an app that recorded the object falling. The app slowed the video down, so
that we could see which object fell first. We then recorded our results on a piece of paper. The purpose
of this lab was to test the different factors that affected a falling object. The factors that were being
tested were mass, surface area, height and force applied. We achieved this purpose by doing all of the
different tests successfully. I learned that the heavier an object or the more force you apply, that is how
much faster the object drops to the ground. I also learned the smaller the height of an object or the
lesser the surface area, that is how much faster the object drops to the ground. ... Show more content

The Medical Ethics Issue Of Abortion
The Medical Ethics Issue of Abortion Abortion is the deliberate termination of a pregnancy, which
typically takes place before twenty eight weeks. The morality of abortion is what determines it to be a
universal medical ethics issue. There are two dominant stances on abortion, which include pro life and
pro choice. Pro choice supporters often believe that the decision of abortion should ultimately be a
woman s choice. They argue that personhood begins only when a fetus is able to live on its own,
outside of the womb. The federal case, Roe versus Wade, states that abortion is a right of privacy,
which is general enough to include a woman s decision to terminate her pregnancy. Pro choice
supporters tend to believe the opposite of those supporting

The True Cause to the Spanish-American War
The Spanish American War served to epitomize the imperialist sentiments inherent to American
society of the late 19th century, as it was driven nearly entirely by jingoism and a large degree of
sensationalism. When examining this war, many often conclude that it was the result of the pressure
placed on McKinley by multiple expansionists within Washington that such men as Theodore
Roosevelt and Henry Cabot Lodge were, perhaps, the primary cause for this imperialist endeavour.
However, upon deeper inspection it appears to be that such men can not be noted as the sole, or even
most responsible, factors in initiating the conflict. For it seems that the evidence is more supportive
towards the notion that the general attitudes of the public were mostly to blame, and therefore, the
cause of the war must lay with the sensationalistic yellow journalism which had grown rampant in that
period as the underlying cause of the Spanish American War. Basically, as shall soon be demonstrated,
it appears to be illogical for one to deduce that the pressure expressed onto President McKinley by his
imperialist counterparts should be held accountable for the Spanish American War. To start, it may be
entirely erroneous for one to claim that Roosevelt may have had any significant effect upon McKinley
s decision to declare war on Spain. Roosevelt was the Assistant Secretary of the Navy, and thus, the
only action one could possibly cite as any attempt to pressure McKinley into considering

Summary Of Will Allen s The Good Food Revolution
Will Allen s The Good Food Revolution: Growing Healthy Food, People, and Communities is not just
a book about agriculture, it s about life. The book is Will Allen s diary about his past, present and
future. This book is an inspiration. Will Allen writes to show us that our past, might always come back
to haunt us, but the second time it can be a positive experience based on our efforts. In the following I
will provide a summary of the book, describe the importance of the book, and lastly I will provide a
critique on Will Allen s, The Good Food Revolution: Growing Healthy Food, People, and
Communities. As an African American, Allen has not only suffer from racism, but also from the
unfairness in the world of food. He explains how his parents were slaves back in 1920s, and how that
caused him to have a negative view towards agriculture. He states that he never enjoyed farming
during that time. He had always had a passion for agriculture, but there was always something
negative in this path that kept him from enjoying it. Will Allen s love for agriculture, became the
reason why he desired to start his organization, Growing Power. His organization does not earn profits
by harming the poor, it hopes to create an alternative to the nation s centralized industrial food system.

The Causes Of HIV And AIDS
AIDS is one of the world s most deadly diseases. AIDS (acquired immunodeficiency syndrome) is
caused by the progression of the HIV virus. HIV stands for human immunodeficiency virus. Unlike
some other viruses, the human body can t get rid of HIV completely. According to AIDS.gov, once
you have HIV, you have it for life. HIV attacks the body s immune system, specifically the CD4 cells
(T cells), which help the immune system fight off infections. If left untreated, HIV reduces the number
of CD4 cells (T cells) in the body, making the person more likely to get infections or infection related
cancers. Over time, HIV can destroy so many of these cells that the body cannot fight off infections
and disease. The diseases include a number of severe infections, cancers and devastating illnesses,
resulting in severe weight loss or wasting away, and diseases affecting the brain and central nervous
system. These infections or cancers take advantage of a very weak immune system and signal that the
person has AIDS, the last state of HIV infection. This is the affect of AIDS on the body. (AIDS.gov)
According to the Mayo Clinic website, the symptoms of HIV and AIDS differ depending on the
person and the stage of the disease. They typical stages are the early stage, the clinical latency stage,
or AIDS (the late stage of HIV infection). Discussed below are the symptoms and effects on the body
that may be experienced at the different stages. During the early stage of HIV, some people may
experience a flu like illness within 2 4 weeks after HIV infection. The flu like symptoms can include
fever, chills, rash, night sweats, muscle aches, sore throat, fatigue, swollen lymph nodes and mouth
ulcers. These symptoms can last from a few days to several weeks. After the early stage of HIV
infection, the disease moves into a stage called the clinical latency stage ( chronic HIV infection ).
During this stage, HIV is still active but reproduces at very low levels. People with chronic HIV
infection may not have any HIV related symptoms, or only mild ones. Eventually the virus weakens
the body s immune system and it progresses to AIDS, which is the late stage of HIV infection. These
symptoms can include rapid weight loss;

The Death Of Jean Pierre Grumbach
Born in Paris in the middle of World War I, Jean Pierre Grumbach knew he wanted to be a filmmaker
at a very early age. After receiving a Pathé Baby camera at the age of seven, he went on to create the
equivalent of thirty short movies in various formats for friends and family by the time he turned
twenty. His burgeoning career and dreams of being a film director were interrupted by Nazi Germany
and the Second World War, but instead of evacuating to the United Kingdom he stayed in his
homeland and fought, wisely changing his last name to Melville after his favorite author. Now a
veteran of the Resistance in Nazi occupied France, Jean Pierre Melville later used his love of
filmmaking and American gangster movies, accompanied by his disdain for the domineering French
cinema establishment, to invent an entire genre of films and inspire an army of young directors to
ignore conventional methods and embrace their own creations in their own unique ways.
THE ACCIDENTAL ICON
From the beginning, Melville caught the attention of audiences and critics with his hardboiled crime
noir films both in terms of storytelling and filming techniques. So much so that writers coined a term
for his films and those soon to follow by others directors as the French New
Wave, and Melville was the Godfather. Part of Melville s motivation for this new style was his intense
dissatisfaction with the imperious demands of the Director s Guild as he personally defined the French
New Wave as an

Patricia Donovan Deliver Her Summary
A Review of Deliver Her by Patricia Perry Donovan
In her introductory novel, Deliver Her, Patricia Perry Donovan turns the page in her writing career,
moving from journals and a concentration on non fiction to something more creative and in novel
form. As the back cover of the book highlights, this composition is about A daughter s grief. A mother
s desperation. An endless highway of deception. This book is easy to follow and not only entertains
but also leaves the reader with food for thought at the very end.
The author s audience is also clear from the back cover description and is sure to include mothers and
adolescent daughters alike. Some additional readers this novel would likely appeal to include those
struggling with grief over losing a loved one and people encountering or enabling addiction. It is
likely the audience will find the primary characters very easy to empathize with. They include the
mother, Meg, daughter, Alex, and Carl, a man the mother hires to Deliver Her daughter to Birches, a
remote, alternative type school intended on resetting the path of troubled youth. Alex s troubles began

A Sociological Perspective
Summary
Economy and State: A Sociological Perspective, written by Nina Bandelj and Elizabeth Sowers,
explains the economic foundation of the state by discussing the governance of property and money, in
correlation to labor and firms, ending in economic development and internationalization/globalization.
Bandelj and Sowers , target audiences for this book seemed to be intended for those individuals
wanting to learn the basics of economics from an economic sociology perspective allowing readers to
broaden their minds, while drawing comparisons from the political economy and economic sociology.
This book was written with clear language for the audience to understand and comprehend the large
amount of traditional economic theory information within its condensed size, as well as introducing a
sense of economic sociology in to the mix. Both Bandelj and Sowers separate their book into eight
chapters: ranging from property and money, labor and firms, development and the international global
economy, before its conclusion. Authors Nina Bandelj and Elizabeth Sowers, provide a wonderful
analysis between economy and sociology by breaking down the study of economics including the
production, distribution, consumption, and exchange of goods and services and its direct correlation to
social networks, cultural reality so to speak, and political and social forces. The authors address the

they thought about their weight or appearance all the time or frequently ( Body Image, 2012). Focus
on appearance is at an all time high in American culture increasing the potential for negative body
image. Poor body image increases the risk for extreme weight/body control behaviors. Researchers
have found that increased preoccupation with appearance and body dissatisfaction put people at
greater risk for engaging in dangerous practices to control weight and size. Extreme dieting, exercise
compulsion, laxative abuse, vomiting, smoking and use of anabolic steroids have all been associated
with negative body image. ( Body Image, 2012).
Body Image
Body image encompasses how we perceive our bodies, how we feel about our physical experience as
well as how we think and talk about our bodies, our sense of how other people view our bodies, our
sense of our bodies in physical space, and our level of connectedness to our bodies. Over the past
three decades, while America has gotten heavier, the ideal woman presented in the media has become
thinner. Teenagers are the heaviest users of mass media, and American women are taught at a young
age to take desperate measures in the form of extreme dieting to control their

Radar The Proliferation Of Location Based Services Essay
Abstract The proliferation of Location Based Services
(LBSs) and Geo Social Networks (GSNs) significantly increase the exposure risks of location
information leading to leakage of sensitive information. Location privacy preserving methods are
designed to provide a specified level of privacy based on some pre defined privacy guarantees such as
k anonymity and e differential privacy. In certain situations, we note that users would need different
privacy protection levels based on their relationships and trust associated with the users of the exposed
location data. For instance, users of a location based social network may need a smaller privacy
protection level in interaction with their close friends and a larger privacy protection level in
relationship with public users. In this paper, we present a privacy aware access control model that
provides different location privacy protection levels based on various access control list of users. The
proposed privacy preserving access control model not only preserves the confidentiality of access
control policy but also provides an efficient mechanism for grant and revoke of authorizations.

Ethnic Conflict Of The Soviet Union
Ethnic Conflict
With a long stemming past of ethnic conflict within Yugoslavia, the country at long last disassembled
over what historians would argue was The bloodiest war in Europe since World War II (Multi Ethnic
Conflict: Yugoslavia.). Yugoslavia was a country composed of six republics The socialist republic of
Croatia, Macedonia, Montenegro, Bosnia Herzegovina, Serbia, and Slovenia. The country was created
after world war one in 1929 and was under the control of the Soviet Union up until 1991 when the
Soviet Union broke apart. With the fall of the Soviet Union came the inevitable turmoil, violence and
destruction within Yugoslavia the country began to fall apart. Ethnic conflict had been the root of war
and violence through out numerous countries all around the world for centuries. The ethnic conflict of
Yugoslavia was caused by differences in religion and ethnicity, different perspectives on government
and politics, and disagreements over territory. Yugoslavia was just far too small for the different
nationalities and government structures within it. Yugoslavia has long suffered with problems
concerning religion and ethnicity. There was always a back and fourth tension between the ethnic
groups. During the 1930s it became apparent that the ethnic groups were unwilling to blend and merge
together. The Serbs who made up about 40 percent of the population dominated politics. The Croats
and Slovenes resented Serbian aggressiveness. These ethnic groups lived an

Comparing The Rocky Horror Picture Show And Naked Lunch
Chinmay Kalluraya PID: A13623530 In this essay, I aim to compare two films: The Rocky Horror
Picture Show and Naked Lunch. I will begin by describing the gist of both stories and shed some light
about their past productions, followed by illustrating The Rocky Horror Picture Show s appeal on
theater, and using examples in the story, its setting and characters, put forth reasons why it would be
better as a theater production as compared to its film version. Next, I will elaborate key attributes that
make Naked Lunch a success on screen as compared to a theater production.
The two films are distinct in every way, with The Rocky Horror Picture Show originally being a 1973
stage production written by Richard O Brien that was adapted ... Show more content on

Regular patrons have the lines committed to memory, and yell back lines during extended pauses
taken by the actors. For example, when Dr. Frank N Furter deliberately extends the word anticipation
during the song Sweet Transvestite , the audiences are prepared to yell Say it! . The audience also has
opportunities to use their props, for instance during the wedding scene in the very beginning, the
audience sprinkles rice on the newlywed couple. After the wedding scene, on the ringing of the bells,
the audience blow bubbles while Brad and Janet have a romantic conversation. Other examples
include covering their heads with newspapers and spraying water using squirt guns on Brad and Janet
during the re enacting of the stormy night, wearing gloves as Dr. Frank wears his while revealing the
story of Rocky s creation and wearing party hats during the guest dinner. The yelling of particular
lines and use of props varies from production to production, but these are classic examples of breaking
the fourth wall, i.e. the imaginary wall between audiences and stage actors. People looking for a
cathartic release enjoy shouting lines as the play unfolds. The on screen version does not facilitate
such interaction between the performers and the viewers.
Another strong reason for a predisposition towards the stage production is the character of The
Criminologist, who

West Side Story Play Analysis
West Side Story is about a conflict between two rival gangs, the Jets and the Sharks, which comes to a
head when Tony, a former Jets member, and Maria, the sister of the leader of the Sharks, fall in love.
Although the play centers around Tony and Maria, the character of Anita (played by Karli Dinardo)
caught my eye since she revealed her purple dress which was different from the reds of the Sharks and
blues of the Jets and I found myself drawn to her in each scene she was present in. I also found myself
drawn to members of the Sharks as I understood the racism they faced from members of the Jets,
Officer Krupke, and Detective Schrank. The characters of Tony and Maria were actually the characters
I didn t really like as I saw them both as selfish. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I found that many of the actors in West Side Story vocals fit well with their characters such as Carly
Evans soprano like voice that seemed so innocent to the world just like Maria. The orchestra ability to
match the emotions of the song or scene was very beneficial in letting the audience know of Tony and
Maria s undying love for each other in Tonight through the use of light and upbeat notes or Anita s
anger in A Boy Like That which uses harsher notes. The effects of the characters emotions would not
have been as evident if the instrumentals they sang along too didn t match the emotions they felt.
Although the play is surrounded by dark themes, there are musical numbers with a tinge of comedic
value such as in America where Rosalia praises Puerto Rico through phrases such as Puerto Rico, you
lovely island and Anita retorts back Puerto Rico, you ugly island or Gee Officer Krupke where the Jets
are joking as to what to say to Officer Krupke ending the song with Gee, Officer Krupke. Krup you! .
In many of the musical numbers, there seems to be a kid friendly approach as profanity is nowhere to
be found with the replacement of words such as Buggin in the Jet Songs although slurs such as spic
and brown boy fill the script. Besides the musical numbers, there were also sound effects in

The And Its Effects On The Perception Of The External...
After washing away all prior beliefs of the external world about us, Descartes builds a system of doubt
that forces readers to question if they truly know anything about the external world around us. His
factors building this doubt include the possibility of madness, sensory deception, chance or the
continuous chain of events leading to our present state, omnipotent beings, or the idea that we may be
dreaming. Descartes claims that there is no way to indubitably know the truth of our external
environment, however it is indubitable that there is an internal being or self. Whether it is based on a
personal experience or someone else s, one can agree that all of the factors given could result in
skewed knowledge. Aristotle once said that, our senses can be trusted but they can be easily fooled.
Because our senses can be so easily deceived, trustworthiness is perhaps not the best trait to award it
with. The eyes and mind can always play tricks on you. One often comes by optical illusions in which
one line looks longer than another when they are both the same size, or circles appear to be spinning
when they are actually still, or numerous other kinds of these tests. Our eyes trick us constantly into
believing things to be happening when they are not. For example, young kids claim to see monsters or
ghosts in their rooms at night because their eyes and mind trick them into seeing these creatures. Once
on a ghost hunting TV show, one of the hosts addressed a common

Gender And Gender Roles In William Shakespeare s Macbeth
In the early 17th century, William Shakespeare wrote a tragedy based on a patron, King James I, of his
acting company. The tragedy was Macbeth, and it was about a Scottish nobleman who committed
unimaginable acts for his own gain and benefit simply because of a prophecy. Shakespeare had
demolished the stereotypes given by society to men and women in that time period by creating his
characters to be the exact opposite of what was expected. This is evident in Macbeth s opinion of his
wife, Lady Macbeth s shocking personality and in the three witches mocking and dark nature. Gender
roles are significantly visible in Macbeth, specifically in Macbeth s opinion of his wife. Women were

The fact that Macbeth takes it upon himself to inform Lady Macbeth that he thought it d be good to
tell her, simply shows us that Macbeth is quite thoughtful and caring towards his wife, especially in
areas where she, as the woman of the house, is expected to excel in, such as being the perfect hostess
for the king. The second part of the quote is quite significant, as Macbeth uses an unfamiliar term of
endearment that is strong and powerful. My dearest partner in greatness. (1.5.10)This title is
empowering and important because it tells the audience a lot about how Macbeth perceives his wife.
His opinion of her is quite high, and he clearly sees her as an equal. He addresses her with respect,
love and equality which was unexpected of a man in the 17th century. This term of endearment
expresses his views clearly and leaves the audience with no room for confusion, as it is extremely self
explanatory. In the 17th century, women had many roles to fill; however, the role to be the perfect,
obedient housewife was the most important one. Women s proper role in society... was largely limited
to the domestic sphere. According to the article, Status Of Women In 17th Century Neo Classical Age,
women were expected to always be controlled or owned by some sort of male authority,

The Campaign Of 2016 Campaign
In modern campaign races, candidates must find new and unique ways to connect with United States
citizens. In the United States, the campaign of 2016 started off and continues to show a shift in issues
citizens currently find important. The campaign has been unique for who ran and continue to run for
the title of nominee. There are some veterans such as Hillary Rodham Clinton and some new to the
race such as Ben Carson. The Republican Nomination for 2016 more than the Democrat s has brought
a large spectrum of different candidates with distinctive rhetoric and stances on issues to the public
eye. An individual that stood out greatly against the grain was Donald John Trump. Trump s work
with The Apprentice did help to get his face known in the public, but may not the reason he attained a
large support on the campaign trail. Other factors such as personality traits and social media contribute
additionally to how well Trump campaigned. Trump contain some traits such as an appeal to voters
through his rhetoric, an association with the Republican party, and utilization of social media. Trump s
effective usage of these two methods allowed him to become the Republican Nominee.
Trump s appearance on social media platforms gave potential voters an idea of where they know him
prior to running for the presidential office. Donald Trump s television show, The Apprentice, depicts
many of the similar skills and traits the Republican Nominee implements into his campaign strategy.

The Effect of World War I on Britain Economically and...
The Effect of World War I on Britain Economically and Socially The outbreak of the war in August
1914 produced immediate changes. It is often said that war is the locomotive of history that is what
drives it along. Certainly the First World War helped to produce major changes in British government,
society, the economy and industrial relations. The war produced political turmoil. In 1915 Prime
Minister Asquith formed a coalition government, and the following year he was replaced as premier
by Lloyd George, who gave a new impetus to the direction of the war. He believed in greater state
intervention built upon the abandonment of laissez faire. The powers of the state had grown

Electric power was used more than ever before. The removal of so many skilled workers had initially
threatened an economic collapse but had in fact stimulated the much needed mechanisation. The
efficiency of agriculture had also increased, with the widespread introduction of the tractor. Such
changes however, although at a slower pace, might have occurred even without the war. The same
cannot be said for the high numbers of casualities incurred. A productive section of the workforce had
been lost. In addition Britain still had to pay the financial costs of the war. Massive amounts of money
had been borrowed and still had to be repaid. Valuable overseas markets had been lost. During the war
massive investment in the staple industries had taken place. But once the war was over the demand of
these products fell. The decline of the staple industries was also the main reason for the bitter
industrial relations which developed in post war Britain. During the war actually industrial relations
had improved. Trade unions reacted patriotically to the outbreak of was and a spirit of collaboration

Essay about Impact of the Radio in the 20th Century
Images like this one are quintessential American, the view of a family or even an individual huddled
around a radio listening to anything and everything. It could be a baseball game, a radio drama, a
commercial or even the president of the United States for that matter. The fact is the radio has serious
impact on the lives of American s as well as other people s lives all around the globe. The radio in its
current version as with many other technologies like it, evolved into the profile it now holds. Born out
of the development of the telegraph, the radio was a kind of wireless telegraph. Its root date back to

I and many Americans still listen to radio broadcasts on a daily basis; personally I mostly listen to AM
programming. The Radio, even if America can t take ownership for its development alone, definitely
had a large role on America s storied past. Since its inception Americans gravitated to this new form of
communication that helped write the history of this important technology. One of the first iteration of
the radio was in the world wars that plagued the early 20th century. They were used as two way
communication for the soldier at war (Boot 2006). Additional to the feature of being an asset at war,
the radio also served as a morale booster for troops in the field; the Armed forces radio or AFRS was a
pivotal part of a soldier s life. The programing that the U.S. soldier would listen to on the radio
motivated them and made them think of America; ultimately the radio made for a tangible as well as
an intangible asset to the U.S. war efforts (J. R. Pieslak 2009, 47). These benefits would prove to be
not only in the battle field but also back home. Politically the radio was a tool for many politicians in
their campaigns, the radio helped broadcast proponents message across a larger area than was
previously available (Political Spellbinding by Radio 1924). But the importance of such an audience
would not be more impactful than with Franklin Delano Roosevelt. The Fire Side Chats was talked

  • 3. Why Schools ShouldnT Have Homework The American School System Shouldn t Have Homework Schools in America shouldn t have homework. It has been proven to not help with test scores or school work, but what it does help with, is lowering students health. I believe that schools should assign little or no homework, It does little to help and more to hurt the students. For instance, most students don t have computers and are financially unable to get one. This is unfair and can cause the student to be behind on their schoolwork. Another reason is that students are so loaded with schoolwork and other family/friend activities that they don t have enough time to do what they really need to. Lastly, the Finnish school system has shorter school days, more recess, and starts at the age of 7. Yet, it has been proven that they get one of the highest test scores internationally. First, there s the case where students aren t able to afford a computer. This causes to affect their grades, school learning experience, and their mental health poorly. Most students have parents or guardians that constantly want them to get good grades and when that isn t possible some students don t take it very easily. Another thing is that it can hurt their grades because now in most schools their system relies greatly on computers. Teachers use computers for assigning homework, being able to research topics in class, and giving weekly assignments that are made to be done at home also. This can make a student become behind in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Also, there is the development of effective technologies and the significant reduction in cost has allowed the once out of reach equipment to be more available (pp. 104). The Community Emergency Response (CERT) ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The importance of the community s involvement in emergency management has propelled FEMA to introduce the Whole Community concept in December 2011 in disaster preparedness (pp. 108). This approach engages all members of the community including individuals, government at all levels, organizations, businesses, community groups and others involved in preparing the community as a whole to deal with disasters. It is the philosophical belief of FEMA that utilizing leveraging all the resources of the the collective team in the community will help to prepare, protect, respond to and recover from, and mitigate against all disasters. The engagement of the community in an authentic dialogue will also empower individuals to identify their needs, the existing resources and find out ways to address any shortfall in them. FEMA also reinforces that with the community s involvement, FEMA is better able to reach and deliver services more efficiently and cost effectively to those affected in a disaster. One of the most important concerns of community members is how they will evacuate in the event of a disaster. FEMA has developed the National Prevention Framework (NPF) that outlines the whole community approach to a disaster discovery of intelligence or information regarding an imminent threat to homeland and security. • 5. Analysis Of The Indian Camp By Ernest Hemingway The Indian camp is considered as one of Hemingway s best short stories. For the most part, it focuses on the relationship between father and son, and life experiences like: childbirth, loss of innocence and suicide. Nick Adams, the son of the doctor, accompanies his father to the Indian camp where a woman that was pregnant has complications giving birth. Dr. Adams ends up performing a caesarian section, ultimately saving her and the baby s life, but then the woman s husband commits suicide. This is Nick s first traumatic incident, and the first sight of personal suffering. This is shown with his various questions he asked his father, like do ladies always have such a hard time having babies? (3) and do many men kill themselves, Daddy? (3), the repercussions of life seem as clear as day to Nick for the first time in his life. The short story leaves us with a number of questions, such as why does the Indian husband kill himself? What is Uncle George s role, and why does he disappear by the end of the story? Although the story has a father son dynamic, thinking of these questions push the audience to read beyond the fact that Nick s father saved the Indian woman, and pay attention to the more traumatizing aspects. But Nick decides to reject empathy completely with him feeling he would never die (Tyler 39). His rejection of having objectivity has Nick become like his father, and have lack of humility towards the Indian woman. Indian camp was created with many aspects of ... Police Job Fair Essay Introduction: (option 7) As students, we sometime get burnt out during mid semester, due dates are forgotten, test are not studied for and ultimately grade begin to decline. It is not because we are lazy or potentially trying to fail ourselves, but because we sometime begin to lose interest. Therefore, once in a while it is nice to refresh our interest with things such as guest speakers or events. On November 15th I had the opportunity to attend the Gwinnett County Police job fair. Going into the fair I had different expectations of how it would be and I left feeling very excited about possibly working for an agency such as Gwinnett. What I expected: Prior to this year, while it is possible, I have grasped that not all aspiring police officers can work for a federal agency right out of college. Therefore, instead of making a federal option my plan (A), I have made it by plan (B), hoping to work local first then transfer to federal if I choose. In addition, I used to believe the local police only did patrol work. I was not aware that police also have many other interesting tasks. Our independent variables were mass, surface area, height, and the force applied. Our dependent variable was the amount of time it took the object took to reach the ground. Lastly, our control variables were the type of object, height, planet, force, temperature, and air resistance. We then began our experiment by gathering all our materials for each factor that was being tested. We did our tests several times to get an accurate answer. For some of the tests, we could not figure out which object hit the ground first, so we used an app that recorded the object falling. The app slowed the video down, so that we could see which object fell first. We then recorded our results on a piece of paper. The purpose of this lab was to test the different factors that affected a falling object. The factors that were being tested were mass, surface area, height and force applied. We achieved this purpose by doing all of the different tests successfully. I learned that the heavier an object or the more force you apply, that is how much faster the object drops to the ground. • 15. The True Cause to the Spanish-American War The Spanish American War served to epitomize the imperialist sentiments inherent to American society of the late 19th century, as it was driven nearly entirely by jingoism and a large degree of sensationalism. When examining this war, many often conclude that it was the result of the pressure placed on McKinley by multiple expansionists within Washington that such men as Theodore Roosevelt and Henry Cabot Lodge were, perhaps, the primary cause for this imperialist endeavour. However, upon deeper inspection it appears to be that such men can not be noted as the sole, or even most responsible, factors in initiating the conflict. For it seems that the evidence is more supportive towards the notion that the general attitudes of the public were mostly to blame, and therefore, the cause of the war must lay with the sensationalistic yellow journalism which had grown rampant in that period as the underlying cause of the Spanish American War. Basically, as shall soon be demonstrated, it appears to be illogical for one to deduce that the pressure expressed onto President McKinley by his imperialist counterparts should be held accountable for the Spanish American War. To start, it may be entirely erroneous for one to claim that Roosevelt may have had any significant effect upon McKinley s decision to declare war on Spain. Roosevelt was the Assistant Secretary of the Navy, and thus, the only action one could possibly cite as any attempt to pressure McKinley into considering ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 17. The Causes Of HIV And AIDS AIDS is one of the world s most deadly diseases. AIDS (acquired immunodeficiency syndrome) is caused by the progression of the HIV virus. HIV stands for human immunodeficiency virus. Unlike some other viruses, the human body can t get rid of HIV completely. According to AIDS.gov, once you have HIV, you have it for life. HIV attacks the body s immune system, specifically the CD4 cells (T cells), which help the immune system fight off infections. If left untreated, HIV reduces the number of CD4 cells (T cells) in the body, making the person more likely to get infections or infection related cancers. Over time, HIV can destroy so many of these cells that the body cannot fight off infections and disease. The diseases include a number of severe infections, cancers and devastating illnesses, resulting in severe weight loss or wasting away, and diseases affecting the brain and central nervous system. These infections or cancers take advantage of a very weak immune system and signal that the person has AIDS, the last state of HIV infection. This is the affect of AIDS on the body. (AIDS.gov) According to the Mayo Clinic website, the symptoms of HIV and AIDS differ depending on the person and the stage of the disease. They typical stages are the early stage, the clinical latency stage, or AIDS (the late stage of HIV infection). Discussed below are the symptoms and effects on the body that may be experienced at the different stages. During the early stage of HIV, some people may experience a flu like illness within 2 4 weeks after HIV infection. The flu like symptoms can include fever, chills, rash, night sweats, muscle aches, sore throat, fatigue, swollen lymph nodes and mouth ulcers. These symptoms can last from a few days to several weeks. After the early stage of HIV infection, the disease moves into a stage called the clinical latency stage ( chronic HIV infection ). During this stage, HIV is still active but reproduces at very low levels. People with chronic HIV infection may not have any HIV related symptoms, or only mild ones. Eventually the virus weakens the body s immune system and it progresses to AIDS, which is the late stage of HIV infection. These symptoms can include rapid weight loss; ... After receiving a Pathé Baby camera at the age of seven, he went on to create the equivalent of thirty short movies in various formats for friends and family by the time he turned twenty. His burgeoning career and dreams of being a film director were interrupted by Nazi Germany and the Second World War, but instead of evacuating to the United Kingdom he stayed in his homeland and fought, wisely changing his last name to Melville after his favorite author. Now a veteran of the Resistance in Nazi occupied France, Jean Pierre Melville later used his love of filmmaking and American gangster movies, accompanied by his disdain for the domineering French cinema establishment, to invent an entire genre of films and inspire an army of young directors to ignore conventional methods and embrace their own creations in their own unique ways. THE ACCIDENTAL ICON From the beginning, Melville caught the attention of audiences and critics with his hardboiled crime noir films both in terms of storytelling and filming techniques. So much so that writers coined a term for his films and those soon to follow by others directors as the French New Wave, and Melville was the Godfather. Part of Melville s motivation for this new style was his intense dissatisfaction with the imperious demands of the Director s Guild as he personally defined the French New Wave as an ... For example, when Dr. Frank N Furter deliberately extends the word anticipation during the song Sweet Transvestite , the audiences are prepared to yell Say it! . The audience also has opportunities to use their props, for instance during the wedding scene in the very beginning, the audience sprinkles rice on the newlywed couple. Other examples include covering their heads with newspapers and spraying water using squirt guns on Brad and Janet during the re enacting of the stormy night, wearing gloves as Dr. Frank wears his while revealing the story of Rocky s creation and wearing party hats during the guest dinner. The yelling of particular lines and use of props varies from production to production, but these are classic examples of breaking the fourth wall, i.e. the imaginary wall between audiences and stage actors. • 31. The And Its Effects On The Perception Of The External... After washing away all prior beliefs of the external world about us, Descartes builds a system of doubt that forces readers to question if they truly know anything about the external world around us. His factors building this doubt include the possibility of madness, sensory deception, chance or the continuous chain of events leading to our present state, omnipotent beings, or the idea that we may be dreaming. Descartes claims that there is no way to indubitably know the truth of our external environment, however it is indubitable that there is an internal being or self. Whether it is based on a personal experience or someone else s, one can agree that all of the factors given could result in skewed knowledge. Aristotle once said that, our senses can be trusted but they can be easily fooled. Because our senses can be so easily deceived, trustworthiness is perhaps not the best trait to award it with.
