This document presents a six-stage model of interpersonal relationships: 1) Acquaintance, 2) Friendship, 3) Intimacy, 4) Repair, 5) Deterioration, and 6) Dissolution. It also discusses advantages and disadvantages of relationships, including lessening loneliness but also increased obligations. Additionally, it outlines five turning points in romantic relationships such as getting to know each other and periods of physical separation.
