UNIT PLAN
 A plan in which we divides the
unit into small lessons.
It breaks up the entire work into
smaller sections.
Unit planning is a middle
ground between course & lesson
planning.
Characteristics of Unit Plan
• It initiates new activities or
experiences which are not possible
during the class period
• A unit includes various types of
teaching activities
• It extends students experiences
beyond the limits prescribed by the
syllabus. Continue……
• It anticipates future needs e.g.
illustrative material to be
borrowed, purchased or to be
developed.
• It provides an opportunity for
teacher and pupil interaction.
•It provides the basis or
evaluating pupil performance
Essential features of a unit plan
• WHY? i.e, Objectives and learning
outcomes
• What? i.e., Content or Subject
matter
• How? i. e, Methods, techniques
• With what? i.e. Material needed
• How will? i.e., Assessment process
