Tsunami Essay
Crafting an essay on the topic of tsunamis is a challenging endeavor that requires a deep
understanding of geological and oceanic processes, as well as the ability to convey complex
information in a coherent and engaging manner. The complexity arises from the need to balance
scientific accuracy with readability, ensuring that the essay is accessible to a wide audience while
maintaining a level of depth that does justice to the gravity of the subject.
To begin with, extensive research is essential to gather relevant data on the causes, effects, and
historical occurrences of tsunamis. This involves delving into geological studies, understanding
plate tectonics, and exploring the dynamics of seismic activities. Additionally, one must be well-
versed in the human and environmental impacts of tsunamis, which often involve tragic
consequences.
Organizing the information in a logical and sequential manner poses another set of challenges.
The essay must flow seamlessly from introducing the concept of tsunamis to exploring their
causes, detailing the mechanisms that trigger them, and elucidating the aftermath. Striking the
right balance between scientific terminology and layman's language is crucial to ensure that the
essay remains informative without becoming overly complex.
Moreover, the emotional and humanitarian aspects of tsunamis should not be overlooked.
Addressing the human stories and the efforts in disaster management adds depth to the essay,
making it more relatable to readers. This requires a careful choice of language and tone to evoke
empathy and understanding while maintaining the academic integrity of the content.
In conclusion, writing an essay on tsunamis demands a multifaceted approach that combines
scientific rigor with literary skill. It necessitates extensive research, careful organization, and a
keen awareness of the human dimension of the topic. Balancing these elements is no easy feat,
but a well-crafted essay on tsunamis can contribute significantly to raising awareness about the
gravity of this natural phenomenon.

Ghost Military Mission Command
Part Three
Mission command is the exercise of authority and direction by the commander using
mission orders to enable disciplined initiative within the commander s intent to
empower agile and adaptive leaders in the conduct of unified land operations (ADRP
6 0) What does a commander do when all communications with higher command is
severed? Combatant commanders cannot cease to operate simply because
communications are interrupted. In Ghost Fleet, the Chinese completely disrupt all
communications for the American fleet. In beginning of the novel, this cripples the
fleet. Lack of orders paralyzes the much needed response to the invasion and attacks.
The breakdown of communications cannot stop the fight. Mission command outlines
how mission orders set the battlefield for success. Disciplined initiative to continue
the mission based on a clear understanding of the commander s intent. In the situation
presented in the novel, we are given two examples of this. When the attack at Pearl
Harbor begins, most commanders of the fleet freeze with indecision when
communications cease. This indecision cost countless lives as the torpedoes strike
the unmoving ships. In dichotomy, the USS Coronado sees the attack and acts
immediately. They are the only ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the future, technology and digital systems will continue to play an important role
in how the United States Army fights and wins our nation s wars. As technology
improves and becomes an increasingly integral part of every Army system, it is
important that leaders maintain the ability to fight and win without these benefits.
Over reliance on digital systems and unfettered information is a weakness that our
enemies will exploit on future battlefields. Ukraine learned this lesson very
devastatingly in the recent annexation of Crimea. In order to safeguard the trust
emplaced on leaders by the American people, it is a lesson not repeated by the US
How Did Ww1 Affect British Literature
During the 20th century World War I had a huge effect on British literature, both
good and bad. It ultimately changed the way British writers and authors construct
their work. World War I made a huge impact not only on civilians not involved in
the war, but also on the men fighting in the gruesome war. The Great War brought
wisdom and new unique writing styles to the British literature world. The Great
War changed many things in the British literature world. Dr. Fiona Robinson says
in an article First World War literature presents a range of many new perspectives.
(Robinson). Along with new perspectives, many new writers were starting to come
up. A.D Harvey states in an article on historytoday.com From the very first week,
the 1914 18 war inspired enormous quantities of poetry and fiction. The claim that
three million war poems were written in Germany in the first six months of
hostilities is difficult to substantiate, but Catherine W. Reilly has counted 2,225
English poets of the First World War, of whom 1,808 were civilians. For example,
William Watson (then an esteemed poet, today virtually forgotten) quickly decided
that his war poems should be so much in evidence that people [would] be saying
that W.W. is the real national poet in this crisis , and had sixteen different war
poems printed in various newspapers in the first six weeks. (Harvey). Carolyn Wilson
says The war s extreme brutality led to an outpouring of literature concerning its
conduct and effects
Vodafone
INTRODUCTION Since the need of the hour is the communication which we make
with each other, I have taken a telecommunication company as my concerned
organization with the topic What next for Vodafone? A strategic study of leadership
and people performance in a successful organization , for my report. Here, I will talk
about the strategic planning introduced in the Vodafone. A discussion about the
company s mission, vision and goals of the company would be discussed in brief.
After that, a SWOT (strength, weaknesses, opportunities and threats) analysis would
also be done to have a better understanding of the environment in which the company
is working. Then I will highlight the different types of strategies adopted by the

It acquires the leading position in India and has a huge presence in Japan. Its
strategic alliance with Apple iphone is also one of the strength of Vodafone.
Weaknesses Weaknesses of the company is analysed by the SWOT analysis which
would further help the company to make strategies to reduce its weaknesses by
reconfiguring its operation process. The US business of Vodafone is not as large and
strong as Europe, which contains a larger percentage of operations of almost 80%.
Opportunities Strategies of Vodafone can focus on exploiting its strengths to capture
the opportunities that are present openly in the market. A great opportunity lies in the
untapped market of developing nations of Asia and Africa. Also, it can take up the
step of reducing cost in India and has the opportunity to come up with the research
and development of the new technologies in the mobile phones. Threats Any external
factor which poses hindrances for the expansion, diversification and development of
the company could be termed as the threats for the company. Since there is a highly
competitive market for mobile phones in the market, it poses a big threat for
Vodafone. Also, the European Union regulations on the cross border cell phone are
the threats which the company is supposed to handle by formulating the strategies in
to action. Besides all this, any company is
Speech On How To Get Rid Of A Dead Body
How to dispose of a dead body
First of all, I?m going to set my examples of getting rid of a dead body from a TV
show called ?Dexter.? The Items you need are (Plastic Wrap, Stapler, Black Trash
Bag, a collection of knives or a knife, etorphine which is used drug elephants, a boat,
a needle, and an empty place to make the killing).
I?m only teaching this for a good cause because sometimes there are people who
deserve to get punished but they get away with it. Or they are double faced they do
right stuff in front of people and bad Stuff behind the knowing of people.
I?m going to tell you now how to use these items.
First of all, you will use an isolated empty room to take your victim there while he is
drugged, then use the thick plastic paper to staple it to the roof and the walls ... Show

Then drug them using the etrophine, using etrophine is more guaranteed because it is
to drug elephants so it will affect the victim strongly and he will not wake up.
Next, you take your victim and drag them to your car. Make sure that nobody is
following or watching you.
Take your victim to the Place you had set up earlier which is the Kill room. Place
them on the table and wrap them in the Plastic wrap. You should make sure that you
got enough plastic wrap before you start doing anything, and remember to wrap them
with the enough amount of wrap.
After you covered your victim, you should start covering the room with plastic
wrap. Staple the plastic wrap to the ceiling and the walls not leaving any place for the
blood to leak and also make sure to use the 4 millimeter type of wrap its stronger than
the original one and it won t break or rip apart. Here is a picture of how the Kill
room should look
An Unxamined Life Is Not Worth Living
Philosophy is about questioning everything in life in the world we live in. Without
the questioning and wondering in life then philosophy would be worthless. The great
philosopher Socrates acknowledge this and therefore he would wonder everything in
life making him a wise man not because he knew everything but because what ever
wisdomhe has comes from his knowledge that he knows nothing. After Socrates
being sentenced to death penalty for corrupting the young, by not believing in the
gods in which the city believed in. During the trial Socrates claimed an
unexamined life is not worth living . Making it one of the biggest influence for
everybody in today s world. Many philosophers have given a lot of that on what he
may had tried to say in which ended made the inference that for Socrates living meant
to be able to questioneverything around him. With that being said an examined life
would be to be precautious with all your decisions and to question everything in
our surroundings to have knowledge and that kind of life would be worth living.
In today s life we live in world full of decisions in which it helps it shape our whole
world. One bad decision and your whole life could change. Therefore, questioning
all our decision sounds like the most equitable thing to do since we would be
making conscious ethical decisions. Which is why an unexamined life would not be
worth living since you would be living a life in which you never really end up
learning from all your mistakes.
National Honor Society Letter
To the National Honor Society: I am writing in response to the letter that I have
received to apply for the National Honor Society, and I am interested in becoming
a member. NHS was first brought to my attention my freshman year, through peers
and some teachers who would talk about all of the good outcomes and
opportunities that can come about from being a member. From that point on, that
has been my goal. I have worked as hard as I could to get up to where I am today. I
believe that I am a strong candidate for acquiring a spot in NHS. I possess all of the
criteria needed to make a good NHS member. I demonstrate scholarship through my
work ethic and in making school a first priority. I try to make sure that any work that

Abstract: The purpose of this experiment was extract proteins from the muscle tissue
of various fish species and execute an SDS PAGE to determine similarities in their
respective protein profiles. The seven species examined in this investigation were the
Yellow Tuna (Thunnus albacares), Thresher Shark (Alopias vulpinus), Paiche
(Arapaima gigas), Swordfish (Xiphias gladius), Catfish (Ameiurus catus), Coho
Salmon(Oncorhynchuskisutch), and Rainbow Trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss). A
sample of muscle tissue from each of the seven fishspecies was placed in a microtube

They are directly controlled by DNA specific sequencing and coding. Since proteins
are influenced by DNA, their profiles, also known as proteomes, are indicative of
evolutionary and genetic relatedness. These proteomes vary from cell to cell, as the
function of each group of cells is different. Proteomics refers to the study of protein
structure, function, and interaction within a certain environment in an organism.
The purpose of this experiment is to perform a procedure known as SDS PAGE
(sodium dodecyl sulfate polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis) in order to determine
protein profiles for seven fish species: Yellow Tuna (Thunnus albacares), Thresher
Shark (Alopias vulpinus), Paiche (Arapaima gigas), Swordfish (Xiphias gladius),
Catfish (Ameiurus catus), Coho Salmon (Oncorhynchus kisutch), and Rainbow Trout
(Oncorhynchus mykiss). The gel electrophoresis separates the fish muscle proteins
according to their molecular weights, which allows one to determine a profile for
each specie.
The goal of this experiment is to extract proteins from fish muscle tissue, unfold and
denature them, load them for gel electrophoresis, and determine the success in our
efforts to classify and compare fish muscle protein profiles. These protein profiles
will help establish the shared characteristics and evolutionary relationships between
any two given fish species.

Political Theory of John Locke Essay
John Locke: Account of Political Society
What would the American government be like today if it was not for the mind and
political theory of John Locke? Some historians and philosophers believe that without
John Locke our government would only be a shadow of what it is today. Arguably,
one of his most important political and philosophical works was his Two Treatises of
Government. There he argues that the function of the state is to protect the natural
rights of its citizens, primarily to protect the right to property. John Locke, in many
eyes, can be viewed as one of the father s of Democracy. He embraced many of ideas
in his theories on the state of nature and the rise of political society today. In Locke s
political society, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This in essence means that all members of the society should be equal under the
law of justice, and that no man is better than another, since all men are created
equal, and all are equal before the laws of nature. Everyone as he is bound to
preserve himself, and not quit his station willfully; so by the like reason when his
own preservation comes not in competition, ought he, as much as he can, to
preserve the rest of mankind, and may not unless it be to do justice on an offender,
take any, or impair the life, or what tends to the preservation of the life, the liberty,
health, limb or goods of another, (Locke pg 117, 6). That means that no individual
has the right to take away the rights of another. As a result, if a person commits a
crime, the people have a right to punish him. For example, if one man kills another
man s sheep, then the people have the right to kill one of his sheep without
committing a crime. Besides the right to self preservation, Locke also believed that
all individuals had a natural right to property, the labour of his body, and the work
of his hands, we may say, are property his, (pg. 128, 27). This natural right carried
with it two preconditions of natural law. First, since God gave the earth to all
individuals, people must be sure to leave enough property for others to have, the

I Have The Pleasure Of Volunteering My Service At Bilal...
Over the past semester, I have had the pleasure of volunteering my services to Bilal
Oromo Dawa Center in Fridley, Minnesota as a tutor and person of influence to
children ages 6 18. Bilal Oromo Dawa Center s (BODC) mission statement is as
follows: Bilal Oromo Dawa Center is a charitable, religious, social, cultural,
educational nonprofit organization dedicated to serve the Muslim community. As I
have come to find out, BODC is a community center that offers many different
services for all its community members. The services range from tutoring services,
weekend school for Islamic studies, funeral services, Friday congregational prayers,
family and marriage counseling, youth sports, and general community services.
BODC is a relatively new organization; however, they stem from Tawfiq Islamic
Center in North Minneapolis. Tawfiq Islamic Center (TIC) has been open to the
community since 2004 and is still open. TIC and BODC share a similar community
member base and actively cooperate to better the community.
I have been aware of TIC since it was opened on inaugural day and practically grew
up in that facility as I attended practically every event they have set up. I attended
weekend school during my adolescence, and I eventually became a teacher s
assistant for the program. It would be an understatement to say that I always felt
indebted to the community for playing a large role in my childhood. I continued to
teach Arabic and Islamic studies there for a couple of years before
Redcrosse In The First Canto Of Edmund Spenser s The...
Though the desire for excitement and adventure lives in everyone, even if the
definition for such things varies for each person, it is safe to say there are some who
are more inclined to achieve their desires rather than watch them pass by. This
inclination is a driving force that can, and often does, lead to disastrous or
unnecessary outcomes. In watching Redcrosse in the first canto of Edmund Spensers,
The Faerie Queene, it is seen that humankind can be selfish and inconsiderate of
who or what it may affect. So much so that a sheltered, nursing mother is ultimately
killed when all she was trying to do was protect herself and her young. In the end, it
was not the beast s fault for her and her young s peril; it was the fault of Redcrosse...

She is hidden in darkness so that she may see no one, as well, as no one see her, but
this is not what Redcrosse had in mind. Instead of recognizing that he was the
intruder and backing out, he made his presence be known, startling Errour s young,
which forced her to engage in physical defense and do everything in her power to
keep her family safe. The ensuing battle that led to the gory death of Errour and her
young, could have been prevented if only Redcrosse s decisions had not revolved
around such a narrow minded outlook. A family was destroyed by a blatant lack of
judgement and disregard for anything besides a selfish thirst for excitement that could
have easily been obtained without the resulting destruction.
There is no doubt Redcrosse deserved to have excitement and adventure in his life,
but how he obtained this was out of arrogance and ignorance. He caused many
lives to be destroyed all because he refused to believe there was any other way he
could have achieved his desire. Without stopping to think about the consequences of
his selfishness, Redcrosse led his companions into danger, as well. He refused to
listen to their requests to turn around and go back from whence they came even after
he was made ware of where they were and what they
The Southern Gothic Genre Of Literature
The southern gothic genre of literature can be described as plots involving violence
or hidden trauma, eccentric and often psychologically troubled characters, and an
atmosphere of repression and decay (Oxford Dictionary). This dark, depressing theme
found in literature is one that highlights the harsh realities that characters face in their
own geographic area. It is vital for southern gothicstories to incorporate the theme of
some type of external decay. In the texts Salvage the Bones and Swamplandia! we
can observe the struggles and consequences of simply where the characters find their
lives to be located at. Challenges are introduced to the lives of the characters in
Swamplandia! when they realize the truth of what they are up... Show more content

This idea of nothingness where the Bigtree children felt as if they weren t being
productive with their lives (enough to leave Swamplandia) may be due to their
surroundings. With the death of their star alligator wrestler mother, the theme park
started to decline. The amount of visitors to the island quickly diminished and
Swamplandia eventually saw a point of nobody stopping to see the alligators. It
also becomes apparent that the father of the Bigtree family had spent more money
than he had and the park had actually entered into great debt. In addition to this, the
theme park doesn t boom like it used to, so the Bigtree family could not make a
profit. Soon, with the accumulation of debt and no new visitors in line for a ticket,
it was inevitable that the Bigtree family would become poor. Kiwi responds to his
father s incompetence to guide the family into financially stable lives by leaving
the island to work on the mainland. In his note to his father he states, I am
relocating to Loomis County to raise funds to preclude what will otherwise result
in a fiscal cataclysm for our family and certain penury and insolvency (Russell 73).
The limitations set on financial resources (due to the park decline) is a central part
of the decay in this text. The father actually tries to make up for the money loss by
lying to his children, working at a casino, and staying at a motel for what he claims
to be for business. The
Examples Of Oppression In X-Men
X Men and Oppression In the X Men movie, there are great examples of oppression
that can be related to many past and present events. The most relevant event that is
similar to the way the mutants were treated, is how Adolf Hitler made people of the
Jewish descent wear Yellow Stars of David so they could be identified. In Bryan
Singer s movie X MenSenator Kelly was proposing a bill that would make all
mutants come forward and identify as mutants. In the early scenes of the movie,

Senator Kelly is trying to force the mutants to register themselves, the movie never
says what would happen to the mutants after they register. One can only imagine
what could happen, just because of what has happened in the past when the Jewish
people were forced to register, they were rounded up sent to work camps and
executed. Leaving you to think is that what Magneto is afraid of? In the first few
scenes Magneto is in a concentration camp being separated from his mother, he
fights back and eventually finds out he has a power. Is this the reason Magneto
wants to make everyone the same, so there is no more persecution. Or did he really

Essay On Therapeutic Use Of Pets
Today, more than 50% of all U.S. households have a companion animal. Pets are more
common in households with children, yet there are more pets than children in
American households.1,2 While current research studies have shown that the mere
presence of a pet can have a positive influence on the physical, social and
psychological aspects of health, the use of animals as a therapeutic modality is often
met with skepticism.1,2
The first suggested use of animals in a therapeutic setting was in 1914 at St.
Elizabeth s Hospital in Washington, D.C., where dogs were used as companions for
the psychiatric inpatients.1,2
Health, Behavior, and Overall Well being
Owning a pet has been shown to reduce minor health problems, positively influence
human behavior, and increase overall well being. In a 10 month prospective study, a
new pet (dog or cat) resulted in a reduction in minor health problems beginning the
first month following pet acquisition and lasting throughout the full 10 months.

Private Peaceful By Michael Morpurgo
Turn back the clock to a high school history class, the topic of the day: World War I.
Although bombarded with the statistics and factual knowledge of the war, students
are not given information beyond who won and how many casualties each side
suffered. Students are not brought into the world of WWI through a connection
they may feel to those left behind, or those risking their lives on the battlefield, but
rather faced with statistical reports to be regurgitated. Topics such as heartbreak
and the loss a family feels when finding out their son have been killed in war are
not highlighted throughout a typical history book. Nor do we see a glimpse into
the lives of the soldiers before the war began, what they went through in the
trenches, or what was left behind when they headed to their death. In the novel,
Private Peaceful, by Michael Morpurgo, readers are given a glimpse into the life of
soldiers before the war along with the heartache and loss felt when a comrade, or
brother, finds death on the battlefield. The story is told from the viewpoint of
Tommo Peaceful as he reflects on the life he left behind while at war. His brother
Charlie was also with him in the war and through their relationship, readers are
given a story of the war that highlights the humanity and love soldiers possessed.
With an emphasis on emotions, missing details of life outside of the war zone, and a
connection forged between readers and soldiers, Private Peaceful leads readers into
the story of WWI
Optimizing Website Success
Optimizing Website Success Be Mobile Friendly
In the past year web traffic from smart phones has increased by 84%. This shift has
created a need for companies to be able to communicate with their clients effectively
via a new technology and has afforded some issues tiny screens for instance.
There aren t any wrong ways to deal with this new challenge, but there are some
methods that have been shown to be more effective than others. Before modifying
your website or building a companion website it s important to determine what the
clients will wish to accomplish on your mobile site. They will either be looking to
save time or locate information.
The best thing you can do for your website if you don t wish to create a mobile
version is simplify the content of your site. By eliminating unnecessary
information, links and large slow loading graphics, mobile viewers can locate
information more easily without having to zoom, refresh or wait a long time for
your site to load. Try to keep contact information on each page most mobiles will
allow users to click on a telephone number and store it right from the website
remember that users will be navigating with fingers so it is very important that the
font be large enough. This has huge advantages when your goal is to obtain new
clients.
Once you have recreated your website to be more consumer friendly as a whole, it s
time to think about other ways that mobile users could find you without actually
visiting your site. Utilising
Jostens Renaissance Education Program Analysis
As my school s class president, there have been various times where my school was
impacted through Jostens. Through the Jostens Renaissance Education program,
there have been numerous positive outcomes. There has been an increase in our
school spirit along with the engagement of the students in school activities and
events. Students are developing their own unique character which they spread
through the halls of our school. More students than before are engaging in school
activities along with supporting our sports teams. Students are creating a positive
climate along with spreading culture. Much of this credit goes to the Jostens
program as their resources enabled the students to engage and connect with others in
a simpler way. Having a Jostens program at my school improves the climate in our
school. It allows students to connect with other peers and our teachers. If there is an
achievement done by a student, there is positivity reflected off of that. Students are

teaching methods along with activities to experience different issues, which is
encouraged by this program. The more the students engage in school activities, the
more it develops their character is a positive way. Their character is then spread

Canter Fair Description
We are peasants in medieval times that work hard every day and try to make a
living and this is our story. In a small home outside of Canterbury lived four men
and their families named Arthur, Drake, Griffo, and Hrodebert. All four of them
were experienced armorers but they needed money because they can t afford a
simple meal. Our houses were made out of wood, straw, and mud. At the first
crack of dawn, we entered the kitchen for breakfast. We can t drink water anymore
due to a recent discovery of dirty water in rivers. Lately, we have been drinking ale or
cider. Our typical meals are dark bread, pottage, and soup. The pottage was flavored
with vegetables, beans, peas, bacon, salted pork. In the winter we had a few
vegetables that we would eat... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Then Arthur came up with a great plan. He said we should all make new sets of
armor, better sets of armor, way cooler sets of armor. We can make a bad set of
armor and place it in the middle, wait for the two men to return, follow them,
attack their base, and finally get the armor back! The 3 of them thought it was a
great plan and so they all went back to the contest to start crafting armors. As soon
as they were done, they went to put the bad set of armor in the middle. All of the
sudden, a scream was heard from a distance. It was the city of Canterbury! All of the
fruits and foods have been stolen. The four boys went to see what had happened
and who stole the food. It was the two men. They were masked men, thieves. The
four men quickly put on their armor and rushed to find the men. It turns out, the
men were none other than Gavin and Robin! Gavin and Robin were there with a
huge army standing behind them. The four boys slowly backed away. The four
boys the looked behind them to see all of the armorers that participated in the contest
in armor suits. Break a leg, Griffo! Hrodebert said sarcastically. Ha Ha, thats so
funny! Griffo exaggerated. Both of the armies started to attack. A war had begun.
There was constant fighting when in the end, the four boys and the brave fighters of

Examples Of Philautia In Macbeth
Love does not always apply between people. There are many forms of love that
have nothing to do with marriage, sex, or passion. One of them is Philautia, or
love of self, which is completely different with selfish lover who is possess with
owning their lover. Philautia is associated with narcissism, which one could form
self obsessed and focused on power and frame ( The Ancient Greeks 6 Words for Love
And Why Knowing Them Can Change Your Life ). One perfect example is again
the Shakespearean play The Tragedy of Macbeth which truly projects this type of
extreme. Macbeth shows how Philautia lead to his downfall path and ultimately end
up with tragedy. At the beginning of the play, Macbeth is described as a chivalrous
general, who is admirable
Triple Alliance Dbq
World War I is estimated to have killed to an extent of 10 million people (background
essay) and costing up to 186 billion dollars. WWI began in 1914 and lasted until 1918
and regarded the European Empires. The annihilation which took place in the
European empires can be contributed to the unification and exclusion of countries, the
desire for world dominance, and the tensions surrounding militarism.
The alliance system that took place between the Triple Alliance (Germany, Austria
Hungary, and Italy) and Triple Entente (United Kingdom, Russia, and France) divided
the European empires beginning the war. According to document B both alliances
blamed each other from the start. By doing this both alliances were split against each
other creating a diversion. The background essay states, The great players were

Parallel Prefix Adder ( Ppa )
Abstract:
Parallel Prefix Adder (PPA) is one of the fastest types of adder that had been created
and developed. Some of the common types of parallel prefix adders are Brent Kung,
Kogge Stone, Han Carlson and Ladner Fischer adders. This paper involves an
investigation of the performances of these adders in terms of computational delay,
interconnect usage and power. The investigation and comparison for all these adders
was conducted for 8 bit size. By using the XILINX 14.5 design software, the designs
for above mentioned adders were developed. The simulation result produced the
vector waveform which then shows the computational delay; interconnect usage and
power for the adders. Hence, this project is significant in showing which of these
adders being tested perform better in terms of computational delay, interconnect
usage and power.

I.INTRODUCTION
The fundamental operations involved in any Digital systems are addition and
multiplication. Addition is an indispensible operation in any Digital, Analog, or
Control system. Fast and accurate operation of digital system depends on the
performance of adders[1]. The main function of adder is to speed up the addition of
partial products generated during multiplication operation. Hence improving the
speed by reduction in area is the main area of research in VLSI system design. Over
the last decade many types of adder
From The Plains And The City
From the Plains to the City The depth of a play comes largely from its context and
how the piece intertwines with the environment in which it takes place. All tragedies
take a direct impact by their setting, which inconspicuously performs a significant
role in the compositions. In Tracy Letts August: Osage County, the Weston family
must confront their past and present in a claustrophobic house during the scorching
heat of summer in the Oklahoman Plains. In Tony Kushner s Angles in America,
the AIDS epidemic is rampant and the effects are seen across all spectrums in the
American society, while keeping up with the fast pace and intricacies of New York
City. Essentially location influences the plays, which steers them thematically and
stylistically. Letts slowly builds a dismal atmosphere in the confinement of a
household that correlates to the bleakness of the Plains while Kushner creates a
melting pot of political, social, and religious criticism in an action packed drama in
a bustling city. The prologue of August: Osage County is in charge of setting the
somber mood for the play. On the outskirts of the small town of Pawhuska,
Oklahoma is where the Weston family reluctantly reunites after the death of its
patriarch, Beverly. The house is depicted as more than a century old, showing signs
of neglect that make it appear stuck in time. Letts describes the premise as a hoarder
s paradise, scattered with books, papers, and random paraphernalia. The windows

a) Trends and Projections Today s on line travel market is succeeding because the
companies are using a more software centric, online business model termed E
commerce. This has become the popular avenue for businesses as it mirrors the
ideas of mobility. The sheer amount of data available, coupled with the advanced
operating systems and social media platforms, have created new possibilities for E
commerce organizations. The infrastructure of E commerce has expanded into
platforms such as peer to peer networking, crowd sourcing, social websites, and
mobile devices and media. E commerce trends are findings ways to incorporate every
aspect of our daily lives into an online package associated with our everyday needs
(Fishbein, 2013). Following the invention of Online Transaction Processing (OLTP),
primarily used by the airline, banking, and retail industries during the late 1960s, the
introduction of E Commerce progressed towards a global enterprise design which
incorporated commerce for web, mobile and the business to customer and business to
business models. Such designs became more useful as they increased the ability to
manage and provide powerful tools to aid potential customers with searching,
merchandising, master data management, order management, and web content
management. Such designs present a great benefit to companies because the

Star Formation Essay
As described in our text, the material that makes up the universe is recycled
constantly through the formation and evolution of stars. Clouds of atomic gas cool
and condense, forming cold, dense clouds of molecular gas. Within these clouds of
cold gas, stars can form. It takes just some push, pull, or magnetic field to cause the
cloud to fall into gravitational collapse. Once the cloud is collapsing, the road to
becoming a staris an inevitable one. The formation of a star involves many different
stages. In the beginning, there is just dust and a gas. Slowly, over time, the dust and
gas form a cloud of material containing all the right ingredients for star formation.
Then, the cloud to gravitationally are caused to collapse. The cause can be... Show

the closeness with the other.

Black Holes
The formation of this star is determined with the size of the stellar core. For example,
the black hole formed if the stellar core is larger as compared to the solar masses

Another fate is the brown dwarfs, which are not stars in particularly, but are those
stars that fail sometimes ago. Nevertheless, their formation resembles the formation
of those normal stars and therefore, can ignite a nuclear fusion in their
Andrew Carnegie s Wealth During The Gilded Age
Andrew Carnegie s wealth came from Vertical Integration as well as John Pierpont
Morgan s wealth. On the other side John D. Rockefeller used Horizontal Integration
to build his oil refining industry. However, while many tried to use Vertical and
Horizontal Integration, not all had complete success in doing so. Therefore making
all three of these men extremely successful. After the Civil War came Reconstruction
and the Progressive Era, which resulted in the rising of new businesses. In order to
pay for the costs after the war, the government had to come up with new ideas to
boost the economy. When the Gilded Age arrived there were thousands of industries

Another wealthy man was John Pierpont Morgan. Like Carnegie, John Pierpont
Morgan used the Vertical Integration method. John Pierpont started United States
Steel from Carnegie s businesses, this is an example of Vertical Integration. He
used many businesses such as Andrew Carnegie s Steel Company to combine with
his own and create the immense amount of money he had. J.P. Morgan was known
for his consolidation techniques, he was also a well known banker, One of the
most powerful bankers of his era, J.P. (John Pierpont) Morgan (1837 1913)
financed railroads and helped organize U.S. Steel, General Electric and other major
corporations. In many occasions John Pierpont Morgan s wealth helped the United
States economy out of financial situations. In one instance the United States went
through an economic depression in 1893. The Panic of 1893 was the effect of
excessive railroad building and railroad funding, which then caused the banks to go
through failures. John Pierpont Morgan helped get rid of the two year economic
depression that the United States had by giving out bonds, Twelve days later, J.P.
Morgan Co. led a syndicate of bankers to sell U.S. bonds to buy back gold from
foreign investors. The
My Greatest Accomplishment Was Being A Three Time...
My greatest accomplishment was being a three time heavyweight champion. I got
my first title when I was 22. The fight was February 25, 1964 in Miami Beach,
Florida. I was a 7 1 underdog against that ugly bear, named Sonny Liston. I told him
he was too ugly to be a champion and I should be the Champ because I was young,
fast, and handsome. I was right, I beat that ugly bear in the seventh round. Float
like a butterfly sting like a bee is what I told that him. After that fight, I won 11
fights before losing the belt to Joe frazier. Then in 1975 I regained the title back by
beating him in 15 rounds. I said no one could beat me twice and I meant it.
Unfortunately, I later lost it to some chump named Leon Spikes in 15 rounds.
Never count me out because I won the title back again one more time. I got
revenge on Leon Spikes and got back what was mine in a unanimous decision. I
finished my boxing career with a 55 6 record and best of all being called the
greatest of all time, which I cannot disagree with. The biggest obstacle people
thought I would have, was to overcome being an african american. But I took pride
in the fact that I was labeled black. Especially during the time when it was mostly
white athletes in professional sports. My biggest obstacle was being a Black
Muslim, because the Black Muslims had a bad reputation for hating white people or
thinking they were evil. People would automatically assume I felt the same way
about white people, but I didn t
Positive Benefits Of Bilingual Education
There have been many informative studies information regarding the advantages of
learning two languages. Bilingualism is a continually growing issue in the United
States. Being bilingual as a child enhances knowledge so steps taken to promote
bilingual education are very important. Children are not exposed to bilingualism even
though the benefits have been well established.
Dual Language education is increasing throughout the United States giving students at
a young age an advantage over their monolingual peers. Different research studies
resulted in a major success by proving that bilingual children outperform
monolinguals in a wide array of cognitive and language based tasks (Wallstrum 16).
Dual language immersion is defined as fifty percent of the non English is used for
the instructional part of the day, and the other fifty percent is spoken in English. The
purpose of these immersion schools is to promote fluency in the foreign language
while also performing at their grade level in that language.
Parents are the main reason why kids in these modern times are only primarily
speaking English. Many people have a strong opinion against the teaching of
bilingualism in America, especially starting at a young age. The reason for this is
their own ignorance. They fail to seek further information on the topic and see the
positive benefits that result. The benefits of bilingual education surprisingly are not
tolerated by everyone, and that is a big reason as to why it is not
The Pros And Cons Of Existentialism
Existentialism has always been criticized because it is viewed as only a pessimistic
approach. To those critics, existentialism is nothing more than not believing in a
higher power, but what it truly means is that man is nothing else but that which he
makes of himself, (Sartre, 3) which, in turn, makes it optimistic. By that definition,
there would be no humannature because that would imply that there is a
predetermined plan for humans. Sartre counters the claim of human nature by proving
that all actions are a choice made by the individual since before having an essence,
man only existed and then he had to create that essence. To start, existentialismis a
doctrine which affirms that every truth and every action imply both an environment
and a human subjectivity, (Sartre, 1). In other words, this means that whenever
someone makes an action, there was a set of surroundings, literally and figuratively,
as well as a human consciousness responsible for the action. For instance, in the
beginning, there was one man and no one else to impose their beliefs upon him.
Therefore, the man had to create his own understanding, his own essence, which
came after he was already existing. In addition, Subjectivity closely relates to
existentialism because it is the quality of existing in someone s mind rather than the
external world. Altogether, these terms intertwine to show how human nature, a set
of predetermined traits humans all possess, cannot exist because humans are
Susan Orwell s Chinese Cinderella
In this essay, I will explore how the readings of his module s creative non fiction text
influenced the writing of my assessed creative piece: Chinese Cinderella. I will
examine how Zadie Smith, Charles Simic, Geroge Orwell and Susan Orlean
contributed to Chinese Cinderella in terms of authority, character, story and thesis.
To have authority signifies whether you believe the story and are able to immerse
yourself into the world the writer s created for you and simply have faith that the
words are true. The Orchid Thief was originally supposed to be an article for the
newspaper, but Orleans saw the potential it had and, therefore, created a creative non

have picked up on this, but those with a classical background would have
remembered that Homer used the epithet bright eyed for Athene, a representation of
her wisdom. Therefore, although I have stated that it meant clear sightedness there
is the underlying meaning of someone who is wise. This could be said for Orwell
in Shooting an Elephant where the elephant is a representation of the Burmese
people. In addition, the elephant could be a representation of the British Empire,
powerful and mighty, but when it was ravaging the bazaar it is a unique metaphor
for the British Empire raiding and colonizing Burma. The death of a black

Pros and cons of training modalities remain apparent regardless of preference;
whether one favours safety due to injuries, or heavy weight to increase the amount
of skeletal muscle mass. This meta analysis seeks to compare and relate the
differences between the two, by comparing results of 1RMs and 3RMs across three
separate studies. Each study typically identified a separate facet, from the levels of
muscle activation during a press, to the correlations between machine exercise and the
free weight counterparts. Although, not all sourced information remained relevant,

with a recovery time of at least 48 72 hours for recovery. Researchers observed
significant disparities between the 1RMs. Exercises performed on the machines

machine counterpart would cause a higher 1RM as it has a reduced need for core
activation and stabiliser recruitment, which could in turn allow a greater production
of force being applied to the linear path of the machine. Discrepancies in the range of
motion and movement patterns were also noted, because although the muscle being

(London 4) Too much phosphorous promotes excessive algae and plant growth,
leading to harming the water quality, as well as decreasing the amount of oxygen in
the water that many aquatic lifeforms need to survive. Algal blooms, excessive algae
growth, will cause deaths to large amounts of fish and also harm humans if they
come into contact with the polluted water or consume the affected organisms living
in the algae infested water. (United States Environmental Protection Agency) An
example of widespread algal blooms is shown in Figure 2 where much of the visible

Bacteriological quality standards are used to prevent diseases and sicknesses that

Another indicator is the Total Coliform quality which is the total number of

as an indicator because they usually exist where other pathogens of fecal origins
exists. Although disinfection periods try to clean the water, the

industries leaders in engine production. This approach includes resources both

required to help them bring new engine designs to the forefront. General Electric has
also received a $20 million grant from NASA in order for them to create the first

In order for the UDF project to become a successful venture, these funds are going
to have to come from the orders for the new engine. This means that the right size
aircraft will have to be ordered and built in order to make the need for the UDF
engines rise. If the UDF project succeeds then the company will be able to
experience profits in the range of $600,000 per unit once they are able to cover the
initial amount required to break even. Once they start producing the engines at a
rapid rate, then they will be able to set a specific price and start turning some real
profit. The only stipulation will that they will have to stay ahead of the market and
of their competitors in order to retain the majority of the market share. If the UDF
project fails then General Electric will be out its $50 million initial investment as
well as the additional $1.2 billion to $1.5 billion that it would cost to successfully
implement the UDF project. Looking from a non monetary perspective, General
Electric would gain significant market share and an increase in profitability in the
area of aircraft engine development. The success of this adventure would also allow
for a broadening of its relationships in the area of aircraft engines and those that use,
sell, and develop them. If this venture were to fail, it would lose a significant chunk
of the market share as well as a big decrease in profitability in

The Devil Visited Salem Witch Trials
The devil visited Salem in 1692, or did he? Nicholas Hytner s The Crucible depicts
the 1692 witchcraft epidemic in Salem, Massachusetts. The film was adapted from
a play written by Arthur Miller in 1953. The film s producers, Robert A. Miller and
David V. Picker, released the film along with Twentieth Century Fox Film
Corporation in 1996. The film focuses on one female resident of Salem and her
revenge against her ex lover. The revengeful girl and her group of friends begin to
accuse other members of Salem when the group of girls are caught in a ceremonial
dance in the woods and one girl becomes very ill. The film depicts various themes,
but cause and effects in history and gender and history are two themes that
challenge why the Salem Witch Trials took place. Did the devil visit Salem or did
one manipulative act lead to a deadly conclusion? The film opens with a scene of a
group of young girls and a Caribbean slave in the woods at night. The girls are
participating in a ceremonial dance around a boiling pot. This opening scene suggests
that the girls really are witches and participate in dark magic rituals. Although,
through the remainder of the film, the girls do not demonstrate any other witchcraft
practices. One of the girls becomes sick and when she is visited by a doctor and a
minister they suggest that she is sick because of the devil. To draw suspicion away
from them, the group of girls begin to accuse other residents of Salem of being
witches. The girls are

This is the banner statement or scientific ethics in all of mankind. If people stopped
to think about if they should other than that they could, we might would save
ourselves a lot of trouble. Jurassic Park is but one example; abortion and cloning are
two big one in the world today. The people created Jurassic Park only wanted
money and the credit for making a scientific dream a reality. They became power
hungry and money thirsty; and it came to them after some work in a shiny box

Gunther Kress states in Multimodal Discourse Analysis that the goal of multimodal
discourse analysis (MMDA) is to understand the actual meaning and relationship of
how meaning is created (175). Discourse analysis is very broad and in order to
understand MMDA, Kress divides the chapter up into subsections with questions for
titles. In the first subsection Kress states how the most common issues are partiality
of language, logics and affordances of modes, rhetoric, selection and design, and
recognition of semiotic work (177). Kress gives an example about how people
understood an exhibition in a museum. Gunther finds that an eighteen year old girl
and an eleven year old boy have very different exhibits that they admired. This

Hart 1 Over the course of time the male species has always been the gender to attain
the more favorable conditions. Numerous cultures heed to the belief that the man is
the provider and head of his family. This machismo nature can condition the mindto
believe that a man should feel superior to a woman. The continuous cycle of male
superiority flows down from father to son subconsciously. Do to this unceasing
sequence of behavior women fall subject to repression and control at the hands of
mentally undeveloped men. Kate Chopin s The Awakening, illustrated this particular
topic in a way that not only appealed to the readers sense of pathos but, the readers
likeliness to be able to relate to the aforementioned as well. Chopin stylistically
renders the struggle of the protagonist Edna Pontellier, a strong willed woman who
finds herself imprisoned to the concept of trans temporal existence, as she seeks
refuge to her true being, Edna experiments relationships with multiple men that
unintentionally repress her existence. Between Leonce Pontellier, Robert Lebrun,
Alcee Arobin and The Colonel effect of Edna s life they catalyze her awakening
and ultimately lead her suicide. There are certain ideals that need to be met while
being in a relationship; they play concrete roles in the stability of the partnership.

twelve hot tempered men, is the defendant really guilty? In 12 Angry Men, by
Reginald Rose, a young boy is accused of killing his own father ruthlessly with a
knife. It is now the duty of the twelve jurors to corroborate and come up with a fair
verdict. Some jurors uses emotion to deal with the case, while others uses logic and
provided strong evidence to support their claim. Juror Four and Juror Eight are
similar in the way that they are both open minded, take the trial seriously, and they
also uses logic to analyze problems.

case and not play around. He tries very hard to calm many jurors down instead of
letting it go and think of other things, this shows that he cares about the case.
Moreover, Juror 8 also shows us that he cares about the case because he thinks and
tries very hard to back up his claim so that is seems believable. To illustrate, when
Juror 8 tries to retort back to a claim he thinks is false, Nobody has to prove
otherwise. The burden of proof is on the prosecution. The defendant doesn t have

hard to think of a rebuttal against Juror 2 argument. He thinks that a rebuttal against
a false statement is very important, because he doesn t want Juror 2 to convince
other people with his statement. In another example, Juror 8 exhibits how he takes
the trial seriously by investigating the case in his own time, I m just saying it s

house. It cost two dollars. (24). In his own time, Juror 8 tries to find a similar knife
that has been used in the murder, and successful bought one. This shows how he is
willing to sacrifice his own time to find evidence for the case, it shows that he
cares about the case and take the trial seriously. By taking the trial seriously, it

Another way of successfully gathering information is by building a prototype or
model of the system, so that users can test or get an idea of what the finished product
will be like. With this they can determine issues, problems, or inconsistency with the
system. Another important part of gathering information is organizing it so that it
can be understood and put to proper use. I propose categorizing the requirements into
functional requirements, operational requirements, technical requirements, and
transitional requirements. The functional requirements define how the user thinks the
system is functioning overall, the operational requirements define what background
processes need to be executed in order for the system to work optimally over a

Analysis Of Toni Morrison s Beloved
In her novel Beloved, Toni Morrison utilizes a circular narrative to emphasize the
similarities, or lack thereof, between her characters. In Philip Page s article,
Circularity in Toni Morrison s Beloved, he writes, The plot is developed through
repetition and variation of one or more core images in overlapping waves... And it is
developed through... the spiraling reiteration of larger, mythical acts such as birth,
death, rebirth, quest journeys, and the formation and disintegration of families (36).
By repeating certain themes or images, Page asserts that Morrison is able to develop
her plot in a manner that emphasizes the ways in which the institution of slaveryhas
transformed Sethe s life. From escaping slavery and killing her daughter, to becoming
a recluse in her community, slavery has transformed how Sethe thinks and acts, even
after reaching freedom. Through her circular narrative, Morrison highlights the
similarities between Sethe and Belovedas each is hoping to find a new life as they
arrive at 124 Bluestone Road. However, this narrative also enhances the inherent
differences between Sethe and Beloved, Sethe s actions are usually based on a
selfless desire, whereas Beloved can only selfishly consume. With these similar and
contrasting qualities, Morrison is able to describe the complex nature of Sethe and
Beloved s relationship.
In her novel Beloved, Toni Morrisonfrequently uses a circular narrative in order to

A Narrative Of The Captivity By Mrs. Mary Rowlandson
We all believe in good and evil, that through this belief becomes our morals as
humans. However, during this early American period it s known that the colonial
people in Massachusetts had their beliefs set on the puritan way of life and living.
Furthermore, these colonial people who settled in the Massachusetts Bay colony didn
t expect there life to be disrupted through attacks taken place. Through the experience
of one woman, A Narrative of the Captivity by Mrs. Mary Rowlandson, an American
colonial women, accurately depicts historical record of the attacks made of the
King Philips war and her being held for ransom eleven weeks in its descriptions of
the brutalities and godliness which sets the tone between what is truth and what is
contradictory in the eyes of Rowlandson and the native Americans. Moreover,
through this war fueled battle the colonial people felt as if their colony was
disrupted and attacked. Not to mention, how the natives felt, particularly the
Wampanoag tribe. The natives had been kind to share half of their land while the
English were killing their crops. This drove the Natives mad and through this they
were labeled as savages by the English people.
Subsequently, this brings Rowlandson to invite readers in through her memoir of her
captivity. However, Rowlandson faith is strong through her captivity. She views God
as being a great God and the natives as barbaric, heathens, enemies, and many other
slanderous name calling. This however, marks

Three minutes. 180 seconds. Not a lot of time, is it? What can you do?
Well I can tell you what I am most likely to do in three minutes. Make Ramen
noodles. Delicious, filling, and fast ramen noodles. In all honesty, one would be hard
pressed to find someone who could resist the tantalizing scent of noodles dowsed in a
scrumptious mixture of salt and more salt.
Let us begin with a brief overview of the history of ramen noodles. Created in Japan
in the late 50 s by Momofuku Ando, this easy to prepare meal was designed to be a
quick and easy alternative to making a full dinner. Mr. Ando made the iconic snack
food for the true reason that fosters invention. He created it out of necessity. In Japan
there was a shortage of food after World War... Show more content on

It is a savoir. It is a redeemer. It brought me from dropping down in the snow to
continue on and reach my goals. It has sustained me, college students whose levels of
intoxication reach staggeringly high levels, and even inmates of Rikers Island Jail
where Ramen noodles are the most purchased product at the commissary. Ramen
noodles saved thousands of people from starvation in Japan. Ramen noodles have
brought friends closer together. Ramen noodles are incredible.
Other than being unbearably delicious, ramen noodles are simply on of the greatest
innovations. Its very own country voted it as the greatest domestic invention in its
history. And Japan the invented the Samuraisword. Samurai swords are pretty
awesome.
If nothing else, Ramen noodles are the just plain efficient. In fact, for the number
crunchers out there, you can live on ramen noodles for a full year, all three meals,
for a measly $140.
Perspective.
That s about 4.6 days of Boun Amici sandwiches. So the cost per unit of this
satisfying meal is off the charts.
Before I finish my piece, I must ask. Who among us has not tasted the love and
affection cooked into ramen noodles?

Please accept this gift and enjoy it. Ramen is powerful force. Ramen was truly put on
this earth for all the right reasons.

Taylor faces a predicament regarding her lumberyard...
Taylor faces a predicament regarding her lumberyard business and employees due
to competitive pressures. She may have to make a choice to save her business,
which would be at the cost of her employee s welfare. Therefore, in this paper we
will explore through the various ethical theories and help Taylor adopt an ethical
decision that will save the future of her business and employees. The main ethical
dilemma is that Taylor likes to pay her employees a higher wage so they are able to
live a comfortable lifestyle. However, if she continues to employ her employees at a
higher wage in comparison to her competitors then she may run out of business soon.
This is because her competitors are keeping their lumber prices low... Show more

The employees will receive satisfaction momentarily and will eventually face
unemployment in the future, due to the shutting down of the business. This
approach could be criticized for being ethical and helpful for only a short period of
time. Deontology, however, focuses on the study of the fundamental duties in life. It
suggests dealing with moral dilemmas ideally by obeying preset rules. If Taylor
chooses to seek the best solution among the alternatives in accordance with the
theory of Deontology, then she may choose to lower the wages of her employees in
order to keep the business running or let go off a few workers and employ the rest at
the current wage. This may be considered ethical keeping in mind the rules of
business that prevents a business owner from jeopardizing his/her own business. At
the same time it can be argued that by following the rules of business, one may
contradict the basic duties of life towards other beings, which has been emphasized
by many deontologists. Consequentialism on the other hand, accounts for the
consequences of actions. In fact consequentialists don t take in to consideration the
intention behind actions and are driven towards the end results. One of the highlighted

Swot analysis of Tesco plc
We all know Tesco as a food retailer, and we know that they are in constant
competition with other retailers such as Sainsburys and Asda, yet we do not know
much about what goes on beyond the shelves and the tills, the marketing plans and
the day to day tactics that have to be devised to stay the number one food retailer in
the United kingdom today.
I am going to analyse Broughton Parks Tesco and their possible competitors Swot

The Operational Plan is an annual activity plan, including for example upgrading,

This can be broken down into Hypermarkets, Superstores, and High street amp;

Jill And Derick Count On Analysis
The fans are really curious about what is going on with Jill and Derick Dillard of
Counting On. These two have been out of the country, but it looks like they are
back in Arkansas with her family once again and it could be for a while this time.
The Duggar Family Blog shared a few details about what is going on with Jill and
Derick at this time now that they are back in Arkansas along with their son Israel.
They have already been here a few months, which is starting to make it look like
they don t have plans to leave. Right now, the blog explains that Jill and Derick
Dillard are having an extended stay in Arkansas. The viewers saw last week on
Counting On that Jana Duggar was working on getting their guest house set up to
surprise Jill and Derick with it. They were doing things such as changing out
lighting and more, so it sounded like the couple would be in Arkansas for a while.
There would be no reason to make big changes for the couple to just stay there for
a few nights or even weeks. Right now, Jill s sister Jessa Seewald is pregnant and
there are always rumors flying that Jill will be the next one to announce a pregnancy.
Being in the United States while trying to get pregnant would be smart for Jill
considering the fear of Zika Virus in other countries right now.... Show more content

Tsunami Essay.pdfTsunami Essay. Essays on tsunami disasters - pdfeports867.web.fc2.com

  • 1. Tsunami Essay Crafting an essay on the topic of tsunamis is a challenging endeavor that requires a deep understanding of geological and oceanic processes, as well as the ability to convey complex information in a coherent and engaging manner. The complexity arises from the need to balance scientific accuracy with readability, ensuring that the essay is accessible to a wide audience while maintaining a level of depth that does justice to the gravity of the subject. To begin with, extensive research is essential to gather relevant data on the causes, effects, and historical occurrences of tsunamis. This involves delving into geological studies, understanding plate tectonics, and exploring the dynamics of seismic activities. Additionally, one must be well- versed in the human and environmental impacts of tsunamis, which often involve tragic consequences. Organizing the information in a logical and sequential manner poses another set of challenges. The essay must flow seamlessly from introducing the concept of tsunamis to exploring their causes, detailing the mechanisms that trigger them, and elucidating the aftermath. Striking the right balance between scientific terminology and layman's language is crucial to ensure that the essay remains informative without becoming overly complex. Moreover, the emotional and humanitarian aspects of tsunamis should not be overlooked. Addressing the human stories and the efforts in disaster management adds depth to the essay, making it more relatable to readers. This requires a careful choice of language and tone to evoke empathy and understanding while maintaining the academic integrity of the content. In conclusion, writing an essay on tsunamis demands a multifaceted approach that combines scientific rigor with literary skill. It necessitates extensive research, careful organization, and a keen awareness of the human dimension of the topic. Balancing these elements is no easy feat, but a well-crafted essay on tsunamis can contribute significantly to raising awareness about the gravity of this natural phenomenon. • 2. Ghost Military Mission Command Part Three Mission command is the exercise of authority and direction by the commander using mission orders to enable disciplined initiative within the commander s intent to empower agile and adaptive leaders in the conduct of unified land operations (ADRP 6 0) What does a commander do when all communications with higher command is severed? Combatant commanders cannot cease to operate simply because communications are interrupted. In Ghost Fleet, the Chinese completely disrupt all communications for the American fleet. In beginning of the novel, this cripples the fleet. Lack of orders paralyzes the much needed response to the invasion and attacks. The breakdown of communications cannot stop the fight. Mission command outlines how mission orders set the battlefield for success. Disciplined initiative to continue the mission based on a clear understanding of the commander s intent. In the situation presented in the novel, we are given two examples of this. When the attack at Pearl Harbor begins, most commanders of the fleet freeze with indecision when communications cease. This indecision cost countless lives as the torpedoes strike the unmoving ships. In dichotomy, the USS Coronado sees the attack and acts immediately. They are the only ... As technology improves and becomes an increasingly integral part of every Army system, it is important that leaders maintain the ability to fight and win without these benefits. Over reliance on digital systems and unfettered information is a weakness that our enemies will exploit on future battlefields. Ukraine learned this lesson very devastatingly in the recent annexation of Crimea. In order to safeguard the trust emplaced on leaders by the American people, it is a lesson not repeated by the US
  • 3. How Did Ww1 Affect British Literature During the 20th century World War I had a huge effect on British literature, both good and bad. It ultimately changed the way British writers and authors construct their work. World War I made a huge impact not only on civilians not involved in the war, but also on the men fighting in the gruesome war. The Great War brought wisdom and new unique writing styles to the British literature world. The Great War changed many things in the British literature world. Dr. Fiona Robinson says in an article First World War literature presents a range of many new perspectives. (Robinson). Along with new perspectives, many new writers were starting to come up. A.D Harvey states in an article on historytoday.com From the very first week, the 1914 18 war inspired enormous quantities of poetry and fiction. The claim that three million war poems were written in Germany in the first six months of hostilities is difficult to substantiate, but Catherine W. Reilly has counted 2,225 English poets of the First World War, of whom 1,808 were civilians. For example, William Watson (then an esteemed poet, today virtually forgotten) quickly decided that his war poems should be so much in evidence that people [would] be saying that W.W. is the real national poet in this crisis , and had sixteen different war poems printed in various newspapers in the first six weeks. (Harvey). Carolyn Wilson says The war s extreme brutality led to an outpouring of literature concerning its conduct and effects

Vodafone INTRODUCTION Since the need of the hour is the communication which we make with each other, I have taken a telecommunication company as my concerned organization with the topic What next for Vodafone? A strategic study of leadership and people performance in a successful organization , for my report. Here, I will talk about the strategic planning introduced in the Vodafone. A discussion about the company s mission, vision and goals of the company would be discussed in brief. After that, a SWOT (strength, weaknesses, opportunities and threats) analysis would also be done to have a better understanding of the environment in which the company is working. It acquires the leading position in India and has a huge presence in Japan. Its strategic alliance with Apple iphone is also one of the strength of Vodafone. Weaknesses Weaknesses of the company is analysed by the SWOT analysis which would further help the company to make strategies to reduce its weaknesses by reconfiguring its operation process. The US business of Vodafone is not as large and strong as Europe, which contains a larger percentage of operations of almost 80%. Opportunities Strategies of Vodafone can focus on exploiting its strengths to capture the opportunities that are present openly in the market. A great opportunity lies in the untapped market of developing nations of Asia and Africa. Also, it can take up the step of reducing cost in India and has the opportunity to come up with the research and development of the new technologies in the mobile phones. Threats Any external factor which poses hindrances for the expansion, diversification and development of the company could be termed as the threats for the company. Since there is a highly competitive market for mobile phones in the market, it poses a big threat for Vodafone. Also, the European Union regulations on the cross border cell phone are the threats which the company is supposed to handle by formulating the strategies in to action. Besides all this, any company is

  • 6. An Unxamined Life Is Not Worth Living Philosophy is about questioning everything in life in the world we live in. Without the questioning and wondering in life then philosophy would be worthless. The great philosopher Socrates acknowledge this and therefore he would wonder everything in life making him a wise man not because he knew everything but because what ever wisdomhe has comes from his knowledge that he knows nothing. After Socrates being sentenced to death penalty for corrupting the young, by not believing in the gods in which the city believed in. During the trial Socrates claimed an unexamined life is not worth living . Making it one of the biggest influence for everybody in today s world. Many philosophers have given a lot of that on what he may had tried to say in which ended made the inference that for Socrates living meant to be able to questioneverything around him. With that being said an examined life would be to be precautious with all your decisions and to question everything in our surroundings to have knowledge and that kind of life would be worth living. In today s life we live in world full of decisions in which it helps it shape our whole world. One bad decision and your whole life could change. Therefore, questioning all our decision sounds like the most equitable thing to do since we would be making conscious ethical decisions. Which is why an unexamined life would not be worth living since you would be living a life in which you never really end up learning from all your mistakes.

Abstract: The purpose of this experiment was extract proteins from the muscle tissue of various fish species and execute an SDS PAGE to determine similarities in their respective protein profiles. The seven species examined in this investigation were the Yellow Tuna (Thunnus albacares), Thresher Shark (Alopias vulpinus), Paiche (Arapaima gigas), Swordfish (Xiphias gladius), Catfish (Ameiurus catus), Coho Salmon(Oncorhynchuskisutch), and Rainbow Trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss). They are directly controlled by DNA specific sequencing and coding. Since proteins are influenced by DNA, their profiles, also known as proteomes, are indicative of evolutionary and genetic relatedness. These proteomes vary from cell to cell, as the function of each group of cells is different. Proteomics refers to the study of protein structure, function, and interaction within a certain environment in an organism. The purpose of this experiment is to perform a procedure known as SDS PAGE (sodium dodecyl sulfate polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis) in order to determine protein profiles for seven fish species: Yellow Tuna (Thunnus albacares), Thresher Shark (Alopias vulpinus), Paiche (Arapaima gigas), Swordfish (Xiphias gladius), Catfish (Ameiurus catus), Coho Salmon (Oncorhynchus kisutch), and Rainbow Trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss). The gel electrophoresis separates the fish muscle proteins according to their molecular weights, which allows one to determine a profile for each specie. The goal of this experiment is to extract proteins from fish muscle tissue, unfold and denature them, load them for gel electrophoresis, and determine the success in our efforts to classify and compare fish muscle protein profiles. These protein profiles will help establish the shared characteristics and evolutionary relationships between any two given fish species. Materials and Methods: In order to investigate
  • 9. Political Theory of John Locke Essay John Locke: Account of Political Society What would the American government be like today if it was not for the mind and political theory of John Locke? Some historians and philosophers believe that without John Locke our government would only be a shadow of what it is today. Arguably, one of his most important political and philosophical works was his Two Treatises of Government. There he argues that the function of the state is to protect the natural rights of its citizens, primarily to protect the right to property. John Locke, in many eyes, can be viewed as one of the father s of Democracy. He embraced many of ideas in his theories on the state of nature and the rise of political society today. In Locke s political society, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This in essence means that all members of the society should be equal under the law of justice, and that no man is better than another, since all men are created equal, and all are equal before the laws of nature. Everyone as he is bound to preserve himself, and not quit his station willfully; so by the like reason when his own preservation comes not in competition, ought he, as much as he can, to preserve the rest of mankind, and may not unless it be to do justice on an offender, take any, or impair the life, or what tends to the preservation of the life, the liberty, health, limb or goods of another, (Locke pg 117, 6). That means that no individual has the right to take away the rights of another. As a result, if a person commits a crime, the people have a right to punish him. For example, if one man kills another man s sheep, then the people have the right to kill one of his sheep without committing a crime. Besides the right to self preservation, Locke also believed that all individuals had a natural right to property, the labour of his body, and the work of his hands, we may say, are property his, (pg. 128, 27). This natural right carried with it two preconditions of natural law. First, since God gave the earth to all individuals, people must be sure to leave enough property for others to have, the second
  • 10. I Have The Pleasure Of Volunteering My Service At Bilal... Over the past semester, I have had the pleasure of volunteering my services to Bilal Oromo Dawa Center in Fridley, Minnesota as a tutor and person of influence to children ages 6 18. Bilal Oromo Dawa Center s (BODC) mission statement is as follows: Bilal Oromo Dawa Center is a charitable, religious, social, cultural, educational nonprofit organization dedicated to serve the Muslim community. As I have come to find out, BODC is a community center that offers many different services for all its community members. The services range from tutoring services, weekend school for Islamic studies, funeral services, Friday congregational prayers, family and marriage counseling, youth sports, and general community services. BODC is a relatively new organization; however, they stem from Tawfiq Islamic Center in North Minneapolis. Tawfiq Islamic Center (TIC) has been open to the community since 2004 and is still open. TIC and BODC share a similar community member base and actively cooperate to better the community. I have been aware of TIC since it was opened on inaugural day and practically grew up in that facility as I attended practically every event they have set up. I attended weekend school during my adolescence, and I eventually became a teacher s assistant for the program. It would be an understatement to say that I always felt indebted to the community for playing a large role in my childhood. I continued to teach Arabic and Islamic studies there for a couple of years before
  • 11. Redcrosse In The First Canto Of Edmund Spenser s The... Though the desire for excitement and adventure lives in everyone, even if the definition for such things varies for each person, it is safe to say there are some who are more inclined to achieve their desires rather than watch them pass by. This inclination is a driving force that can, and often does, lead to disastrous or unnecessary outcomes. In watching Redcrosse in the first canto of Edmund Spensers, The Faerie Queene, it is seen that humankind can be selfish and inconsiderate of who or what it may affect. So much so that a sheltered, nursing mother is ultimately killed when all she was trying to do was protect herself and her young. In the end, it was not the beast s fault for her and her young s peril; it was the fault of Redcrosse... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... She is hidden in darkness so that she may see no one, as well, as no one see her, but this is not what Redcrosse had in mind. Instead of recognizing that he was the intruder and backing out, he made his presence be known, startling Errour s young, which forced her to engage in physical defense and do everything in her power to keep her family safe. The ensuing battle that led to the gory death of Errour and her young, could have been prevented if only Redcrosse s decisions had not revolved around such a narrow minded outlook. A family was destroyed by a blatant lack of judgement and disregard for anything besides a selfish thirst for excitement that could have easily been obtained without the resulting destruction. There is no doubt Redcrosse deserved to have excitement and adventure in his life, but how he obtained this was out of arrogance and ignorance. He caused many lives to be destroyed all because he refused to believe there was any other way he could have achieved his desire. Without stopping to think about the consequences of his selfishness, Redcrosse led his companions into danger, as well. He refused to listen to their requests to turn around and go back from whence they came even after he was made ware of where they were and what they
  • 12. The Southern Gothic Genre Of Literature The southern gothic genre of literature can be described as plots involving violence or hidden trauma, eccentric and often psychologically troubled characters, and an atmosphere of repression and decay (Oxford Dictionary). This dark, depressing theme found in literature is one that highlights the harsh realities that characters face in their own geographic area. It is vital for southern gothicstories to incorporate the theme of some type of external decay. In the texts Salvage the Bones and Swamplandia! we can observe the struggles and consequences of simply where the characters find their lives to be located at. Challenges are introduced to the lives of the characters in Swamplandia! when they realize the truth of what they are up... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This idea of nothingness where the Bigtree children felt as if they weren t being productive with their lives (enough to leave Swamplandia) may be due to their surroundings. With the death of their star alligator wrestler mother, the theme park started to decline. The amount of visitors to the island quickly diminished and Swamplandia eventually saw a point of nobody stopping to see the alligators. It also becomes apparent that the father of the Bigtree family had spent more money than he had and the park had actually entered into great debt. In addition to this, the theme park doesn t boom like it used to, so the Bigtree family could not make a profit. Soon, with the accumulation of debt and no new visitors in line for a ticket, it was inevitable that the Bigtree family would become poor. Kiwi responds to his father s incompetence to guide the family into financially stable lives by leaving the island to work on the mainland. In his note to his father he states, I am relocating to Loomis County to raise funds to preclude what will otherwise result in a fiscal cataclysm for our family and certain penury and insolvency (Russell 73). The limitations set on financial resources (due to the park decline) is a central part of the decay in this text. The father actually tries to make up for the money loss by lying to his children, working at a casino, and staying at a motel for what he claims to be for business. The

In Bryan Singer s movie X MenSenator Kelly was proposing a bill that would make all mutants come forward and identify as mutants. Pets are more common in households with children, yet there are more pets than children in American households.1,2 While current research studies have shown that the mere presence of a pet can have a positive influence on the physical, social and psychological aspects of health, the use of animals as a therapeutic modality is often met with skepticism.1,2 The first suggested use of animals in a therapeutic setting was in 1914 at St. Elizabeth s Hospital in Washington, D.C., where dogs were used as companions for the psychiatric inpatients.1,2 Health, Behavior, and Overall Well being Owning a pet has been shown to reduce minor health problems, positively influence human behavior, and increase overall well being. • 15. Private Peaceful By Michael Morpurgo Turn back the clock to a high school history class, the topic of the day: World War I. Although bombarded with the statistics and factual knowledge of the war, students are not given information beyond who won and how many casualties each side suffered. Students are not brought into the world of WWI through a connection they may feel to those left behind, or those risking their lives on the battlefield, but rather faced with statistical reports to be regurgitated. Topics such as heartbreak and the loss a family feels when finding out their son have been killed in war are not highlighted throughout a typical history book. Nor do we see a glimpse into the lives of the soldiers before the war began, what they went through in the trenches, or what was left behind when they headed to their death. In the novel, Private Peaceful, by Michael Morpurgo, readers are given a glimpse into the life of soldiers before the war along with the heartache and loss felt when a comrade, or brother, finds death on the battlefield. The story is told from the viewpoint of Tommo Peaceful as he reflects on the life he left behind while at war. His brother Charlie was also with him in the war and through their relationship, readers are given a story of the war that highlights the humanity and love soldiers possessed. With an emphasis on emotions, missing details of life outside of the war zone, and a connection forged between readers and soldiers, Private Peaceful leads readers into the story of WWI

This shift has created a need for companies to be able to communicate with their clients effectively via a new technology and has afforded some issues tiny screens for instance. There aren t any wrong ways to deal with this new challenge, but there are some methods that have been shown to be more effective than others. Before modifying your website or building a companion website it s important to determine what the clients will wish to accomplish on your mobile site. They will either be looking to save time or locate information. The best thing you can do for your website if you don t wish to create a mobile version is simplify the content of your site. By eliminating unnecessary information, links and large slow loading graphics, mobile viewers can locate information more easily without having to zoom, refresh or wait a long time for your site to load. Try to keep contact information on each page most mobiles will allow users to click on a telephone number and store it right from the website remember that users will be navigating with fingers so it is very important that the font be large enough. This has huge advantages when your goal is to obtain new clients. Once you have recreated your website to be more consumer friendly as a whole, it s time to think about other ways that mobile users could find you without actually visiting your site. Utilising

Students are developing their own unique character which they spread through the halls of our school. More students than before are engaging in school activities along with supporting our sports teams. Students are creating a positive climate along with spreading culture. Much of this credit goes to the Jostens program as their resources enabled the students to engage and connect with others in a simpler way. Having a Jostens program at my school improves the climate in our school. It allows students to connect with other peers and our teachers. • 18. Canter Fair Description We are peasants in medieval times that work hard every day and try to make a living and this is our story. In a small home outside of Canterbury lived four men and their families named Arthur, Drake, Griffo, and Hrodebert. All four of them were experienced armorers but they needed money because they can t afford a simple meal. Our houses were made out of wood, straw, and mud. At the first crack of dawn, we entered the kitchen for breakfast. We can t drink water anymore due to a recent discovery of dirty water in rivers. Lately, we have been drinking ale or cider. Our typical meals are dark bread, pottage, and soup. The pottage was flavored with vegetables, beans, peas, bacon, salted pork. In the winter we had a few vegetables that we would eat... The 3 of them thought it was a great plan and so they all went back to the contest to start crafting armors. As soon as they were done, they went to put the bad set of armor in the middle. All of the sudden, a scream was heard from a distance. It was the city of Canterbury! All of the fruits and foods have been stolen. The four boys went to see what had happened and who stole the food. It was the two men. They were masked men, thieves. The four men quickly put on their armor and rushed to find the men. It turns out, the men were none other than Gavin and Robin! Gavin and Robin were there with a huge army standing behind them. The four boys slowly backed away. The four boys the looked behind them to see all of the armorers that participated in the contest in armor suits. Break a leg, Griffo! Hrodebert said sarcastically. Ha Ha, thats so funny! WWI began in 1914 and lasted until 1918 and regarded the European Empires. The annihilation which took place in the European empires can be contributed to the unification and exclusion of countries, the desire for world dominance, and the tensions surrounding militarism. The alliance system that took place between the Triple Alliance (Germany, Austria Hungary, and Italy) and Triple Entente (United Kingdom, Russia, and France) divided the European empires beginning the war. Some of the common types of parallel prefix adders are Brent Kung, Kogge Stone, Han Carlson and Ladner Fischer adders. This paper involves an investigation of the performances of these adders in terms of computational delay, interconnect usage and power. The investigation and comparison for all these adders was conducted for 8 bit size. By using the XILINX 14.5 design software, the designs for above mentioned adders were developed. The simulation result produced the vector waveform which then shows the computational delay; interconnect usage and power for the adders. Hence, this project is significant in showing which of these adders being tested perform better in terms of computational delay, interconnect usage and power. Key words: Low power; parallel prefix adder; carry save adder; ripple carry adder; han carlson adder I.INTRODUCTION The fundamental operations involved in any Digital systems are addition and multiplication. Addition is an indispensible operation in any Digital, Analog, or Control system. Fast and accurate operation of digital system depends on the performance of adders[1]. The main function of adder is to speed up the addition of partial products generated during multiplication operation. Hence improving the speed by reduction in area is the main area of research in VLSI system design. Over the last decade many types of adder
  • 23. From The Plains And The City From the Plains to the City The depth of a play comes largely from its context and how the piece intertwines with the environment in which it takes place. All tragedies take a direct impact by their setting, which inconspicuously performs a significant role in the compositions. In Tracy Letts August: Osage County, the Weston family must confront their past and present in a claustrophobic house during the scorching heat of summer in the Oklahoman Plains. In Tony Kushner s Angles in America, the AIDS epidemic is rampant and the effects are seen across all spectrums in the American society, while keeping up with the fast pace and intricacies of New York City. Essentially location influences the plays, which steers them thematically and stylistically. Letts slowly builds a dismal atmosphere in the confinement of a household that correlates to the bleakness of the Plains while Kushner creates a melting pot of political, social, and religious criticism in an action packed drama in a bustling city. The prologue of August: Osage County is in charge of setting the somber mood for the play. On the outskirts of the small town of Pawhuska, Oklahoma is where the Weston family reluctantly reunites after the death of its patriarch, Beverly. The house is depicted as more than a century old, showing signs of neglect that make it appear stuck in time. Letts describes the premise as a hoarder s paradise, scattered with books, papers, and random paraphernalia. The windows have been covered

Dual Language education is increasing throughout the United States giving students at a young age an advantage over their monolingual peers. The purpose of these immersion schools is to promote fluency in the foreign language while also performing at their grade level in that language. Parents are the main reason why kids in these modern times are only primarily speaking English. Many people have a strong opinion against the teaching of bilingualism in America, especially starting at a young age. The reason for this is their own ignorance. They fail to seek further information on the topic and see the positive benefits that result. The benefits of bilingual education surprisingly are not tolerated by everyone, and that is a big reason as to why it is not
  • 29. The Pros And Cons Of Existentialism Existentialism has always been criticized because it is viewed as only a pessimistic approach. To those critics, existentialism is nothing more than not believing in a higher power, but what it truly means is that man is nothing else but that which he makes of himself, (Sartre, 3) which, in turn, makes it optimistic. By that definition, there would be no humannature because that would imply that there is a predetermined plan for humans. Sartre counters the claim of human nature by proving that all actions are a choice made by the individual since before having an essence, man only existed and then he had to create that essence. To start, existentialismis a doctrine which affirms that every truth and every action imply both an environment and a human subjectivity, (Sartre, 1). In other words, this means that whenever someone makes an action, there was a set of surroundings, literally and figuratively, as well as a human consciousness responsible for the action. For instance, in the beginning, there was one man and no one else to impose their beliefs upon him. Therefore, the man had to create his own understanding, his own essence, which came after he was already existing. In addition, Subjectivity closely relates to existentialism because it is the quality of existing in someone s mind rather than the external world. Altogether, these terms intertwine to show how human nature, a set of predetermined traits humans all possess, cannot exist because humans are

Compare And Contrast Juror 4 In 12 Angry Men Contradictory Choices: Comparing the Similarities of the Two Crucial Characters in 12 Angry Men A story that takes place during summer in a blazing hot jury room, filled with twelve hot tempered men, is the defendant really guilty? In 12 Angry Men, by Reginald Rose, a young boy is accused of killing his own father ruthlessly with a knife. It is now the duty of the twelve jurors to corroborate and come up with a fair verdict. Some jurors uses emotion to deal with the case, while others uses logic and provided strong evidence to support their claim. Juror Four and Juror Eight are similar in the way that they are both open minded, take the trial seriously, and they also uses logic to analyze problems. Throughout the play, Juror 4 and Juror 8 ... I think we ought to be able to behave like gentlemen. (16) This shows how Juror 4 is confident and determined to resolve the case and not play around. He tries very hard to calm many jurors down instead of letting it go and think of other things, this shows that he cares about the case. Moreover, Juror 8 also shows us that he cares about the case because he thinks and tries very hard to back up his claim so that is seems believable. To illustrate, when Juror 8 tries to retort back to a claim he thinks is false, Nobody has to prove otherwise. The burden of proof is on the prosecution. The defendant doesn t have to open his mouth. That s in the Constitution. The Fifth Amendment. You ve heard of it. (18) This quote reveals how he is confident with his knowledge and tries very hard to think of a rebuttal against Juror 2 argument. He thinks that a rebuttal against a false statement is very important, because he doesn t want Juror 2 to convince other people with his statement. In another example, Juror 8 exhibits how he takes the trial seriously by investigating the case in his own time, I m just saying it s possible ... I got it last night in a little junk shop around the corner from the boy s house. It cost two dollars. (24). In his own time, Juror 8 tries to find a similar knife that has been used in the murder, and successful bought one. This shows how he is willing to sacrifice his own time to find evidence for the case, it shows that he cares about the case and take the trial seriously. By taking the trial seriously, it reveals how both of the jurors is a fair person and wanted to give a fair trial and justice to the

Another way of successfully gathering information is by building a prototype or model of the system, so that users can test or get an idea of what the finished product will be like. With this they can determine issues, problems, or inconsistency with the system. Another important part of gathering information is organizing it so that it can be understood and put to proper use. I propose categorizing the requirements into functional requirements, operational requirements, technical requirements, and transitional requirements. The functional requirements define how the user thinks the system is functioning overall, the operational requirements define what background processes need to be executed in order for the system to work optimally over a period of time, the technical requirements define what technical issues that must be addressed in order to successfully implement the system, and the transitional requirements define the processes or steps needed to implement the system smoothly and successfully. In Philip Page s article, Circularity in Toni Morrison s Beloved, he writes, The plot is developed through repetition and variation of one or more core images in overlapping waves... And it is developed through... the spiraling reiteration of larger, mythical acts such as birth, death, rebirth, quest journeys, and the formation and disintegration of families (36). By repeating certain themes or images, Page asserts that Morrison is able to develop her plot in a manner that emphasizes the ways in which the institution of slaveryhas transformed Sethe s life. From escaping slavery and killing her daughter, to becoming a recluse in her community, slavery has transformed how Sethe thinks and acts, even after reaching freedom. Through her circular narrative, Morrison highlights the similarities between Sethe and Belovedas each is hoping to find a new life as they arrive at 124 Bluestone Road. However, this narrative also enhances the inherent differences between Sethe and Beloved, Sethe s actions are usually based on a selfless desire, whereas Beloved can only selfishly consume. With these similar and contrasting qualities, Morrison is able to describe the complex nature of Sethe and Beloved s relationship. In her novel Beloved, Toni Morrisonfrequently uses a circular narrative in order to demonstrate the parallels between Sethe and

She may have to make a choice to save her business, which would be at the cost of her employee s welfare. Therefore, in this paper we will explore through the various ethical theories and help Taylor adopt an ethical decision that will save the future of her business and employees. The main ethical dilemma is that Taylor likes to pay her employees a higher wage so they are able to live a comfortable lifestyle. The employees will receive satisfaction momentarily and will eventually face unemployment in the future, due to the shutting down of the business. This approach could be criticized for being ethical and helpful for only a short period of time. Deontology, however, focuses on the study of the fundamental duties in life. It suggests dealing with moral dilemmas ideally by obeying preset rules. If Taylor chooses to seek the best solution among the alternatives in accordance with the theory of Deontology, then she may choose to lower the wages of her employees in order to keep the business running or let go off a few workers and employ the rest at the current wage. This may be considered ethical keeping in mind the rules of business that prevents a business owner from jeopardizing his/her own business. At the same time it can be argued that by following the rules of business, one may contradict the basic duties of life towards other beings, which has been emphasized by many deontologists. Consequentialism on the other hand, accounts for the consequences of actions. In fact consequentialists don t take in to consideration the intention behind actions and are driven towards the end results. One of the highlighted
