verbatim theatre
Verbatim essay;
the main purpose of Verbatim theatre has always been to challenge audiences into a
confrontation with real events and concrete facts, an to prevent their escapism into
theatrical fantasy.
How well does this statement apply to Verbatim plays, RRR and LP?
Alfred Hitchcock commented, what is drama but life with the dull bits cut out. This
quotes is typically true of drama, however verbatim theatre is contrary to this as it
forces it audiences to confront serious issues and offers conventions that shy away
from fantasy world. Verbatim theatre is from of documentary theatre in which plays
are constructed from the exact words and testimonies from interviewed people. These
testimonies are based of people opinions ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This idea is presented much in the same way as Augusto Boal s Theatre of the
Oppressed, through allowing the audience s voices to be heard empowering them and
creating a sense of community. This breaking of the fourth wall, allows the actor to
talk directly to the audience, creating more of a conversational atmosphere. This
helps to reinforce to the audience that what they are watching is real and they are
encouraged to form opinions about what they are seeing. In Run Rabbit
The Emerging Role of the US in WW I Essay
Unlike World War II, the causes of World War I were more like politically complex.
It all started in Europe when the continent was split into two sides. Since a lot
powers were involved in mutual agreements and all the countries in the continent
take their sides. That is why when the war did happen; they were force to support the
policies. America on the other hand, is not part of any alliance to any country in
Europe. America does not want any kind of participation during the war as they are
more focusing on the booming of their industry. United Statesis becoming a powerful
nation that they were forced to join the war because their people and their economy
are threatened to go into a big slump, which still happened after.

That is why according to Tindall s book:
British actions, including blacklisting American companies that traded with the
enemy and censoring the mail, raised some issues of neutral rights, but the German
reaction introduced an entirely new question (938).
The Germans put a warzone near the enemy s water and thus using submarines to
make a surprise attack to any ship that goes to the warzone, even if it is a merchant
ship. This plan by the Germans were clearly violated the neutral rights but on the
other hand, it may be a violation but Germans cannot take all the blame. According
to Howard Zinn s book called A People s History of the United States, It was
unrealistic to expect that the Germans should treat the United States as neutral in the
war when the U.S. had been shipping great amounts of war materials to German s
enemies (362). The Germans were just trying to be careful because the British were
also using neutral flags as a ruse (Tindall 938).
But the main reasons why the United States took a step forward in joining the war
was first, when the Germans torpedoed the Passenger ship Lusitania, killing more
than a thousand passengers. Second, the U.S. has a much more investment with the
allies than the Germans since the allied forces loans more money than the Germans
and thus losing was not an option for them because they would not be able to
payback their debts. Then third, probably the most important
Coral Reefs And Bleaching Phenomenon Essay
Imagine yourself observing one of the most diverse ecosystems on earth.
Thousands of species of plants and animals provide a dizzying array of color and
motion. Massive structures provide a canopy that shelters hundreds of exotic species
in a myriad of microclimates. As land based observers, we almost automatically
assume that this is a description of the rich ecosystem of a tropical rainforest.
However, if we take ourselves off the safety of dry land and immerse ourselves in
the ocean, we will find an equally dynamic environment in the depths of our worlds
coral reefs. As a Zoology major, I quickly decided to explore this biological
component of the ocean environment. In the following paper, I will provide a
general overview of coral... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Sometimes growing from a single polyp, a colony of thousands of similar polyps
is soon established through sexual and asexual reproduction. The sheer vastness of
a coral reef provides many other benefits. Coral reefs are crucial land builders in
tropical areas, forming islands and altering continental shorelines. Coastlines are
also protected from erosion as the reefs dampen harsh incoming waves. This is vital
to maintaining the white sandy beaches that drive the tourist motivated economies
in tropical regions. An example of the value of coral reefs in this regard is
illustrated by Jon Luoma in his article Reef Madness . Luoma explains that after a
land reclamation project that destroyed a reef in the Maldives, the government had to
spend more than $12 million to build an artificial seawall that served the same
purpose(24).
As with all diverse ecosystems, the coral reef must maintain a stable environment.
Any changes in the physical ocean components can upset the balance of this
ecosystem. Temperature, water depth, salinity, wave action, and turbidity all effect
the growth of coral reefs. According to biologist Clive Wilkinson of the Australian
Institute of Marine Science, it is humans who have caused the death of 5 10% of
the world s living coral reefs (Wilkinson 1987). One direct cause of coral depletion
is overfishing. The overfishing of herbivores, which normally consume algae, can
cause an explosion
Sir Richard Charles Nicholas Branson
Sir Richard Charles Nicholas Branson (born 18 July 1950) is a British industrialist
best known for creating the Virgin brand of over 360 companies. According to
Forbes he is the 264th most wealthy man on earth, with an estimated net worth of
approximately 5.4 billion dollars. Branson has dyslexia and had poor academic
performance as a student, but later discovered his ability to connect with others.
His first successful business venture was at the age of 16, when he published a
magazine. At 20 he set up an audio record mail order business, followed shortly
thereafter by a chain of record stores called Virgin Records, which was later known
as Virgin Mega stores. Branson s Virgin brand grew rapidly during the 1980s as he
set up Virgin Atlantic Airways and expanded his Virgin Records music label. In
1993, Branson was awarded an honorary Doctorate degree of Technology from
Loughborough University. He was knighted in 1998 for his services to
entrepreneurship . In 2000, Branson received the Tony Janus Award for his
accomplishments in commercial air transportation. One of his best known projects
private spaceflight company Virgin Galactic faced a setback in October 2014 when
one of its spaceships exploded in mid air, killing a test pilot and injuring another.
Still, Branson continues to develop rocket powered planes with the goal of
transporting tourists to space. He is the patron of several charities, including the

Revolutions In The Cuban Revolution
Why do revolutions occur? What actors are usually involved? This are the two central
questions that both Charles Tilley and Samuel Huntington attempt to answer by
examining the reoccurring patterns of armed resistance and collective violence.
Huntington and Chase both claim that revolutions are rare events which occur
because of modernization. However, Chase and Huntington both have very different
definitions of modernization, along with different models of revolutions. Chase
points to gender ideas as central to various opposition movements within the Cuban
Revolution, and she highlights the road to a revolutionary moment in which women
were pivotal (Stevens 9/18/17). Huntington s model of revolution involves a sudden
explosion of political participation due to modernization, and revolution occurs when
the established order is unable to keep up with the demands of the newly integrated
groups. I feel that Tilley provides the best model of revolutions because he does not
simply attribute armed revolutions to the undefined term of modernization, but
instead focuses on the roles of omnipresent actors involved in these revolutions (these
actors being; the government, the various contenders of power, and the polity). I
would argue that his argument is more logically sound because he points to a
tangible sources of power, such as a government s coercive apparatuses, as a
revolutionary barrier which must be overcome with armed resistance and a strong
support base in order for
Obesity As A Risk Factor For Cardiac Health
After putting together all my researches, I found that they all had the same results to
their surveys and data collections and the same conclusion; obesity is a major
problem in American society and it leads to multiple health issues. Data shows that
obesity is the cause of chronic disease risk, morbidity, high healthcare costs and
social costs (Nestle Jacobson 2000). After the American society has identify obesity
as a risk factor for cardiac health, many federal agencies has come up with guidelines,
educating American people how to reduce their calorie intake, how to stay active and
burn calories in order to maintain healthy body weight. On the other hand, these
governmental guidelines did not take in consideration population with
socioeconomics challenges, which might contribute to obesity. One the federal plan
called Healthy People 2010, highlight individual goals connected to daily physical
exercise, which is believe to help people with risk of heart disease such as
hypertensionand obesity. According to Healthy People 2010 goals, by 2010
American society should increase 60% the prevalence of healthy weight, reduce the
number of obesity at least to less than 20%, and increase the number of public schools
that teach healthy nutritional habits like eating fruits, vegetables and make physical
activity a part of school curriculum. Research has also indicated that there is a close
the link between the way parents teach their children, children activity level and
The Purpose Of Collecting Fingerprints
The purpose of collecting fingerprints is to identify an individual. This person may
be the suspect, a victim, or a witness. There are three types of fingerprints that can be
found: latent, patent, and plastic. (Crime Museum, 2016) Latent fingerprints are
made of the sweat and oil on the skin s surface. This type of fingerprintis invisible to
the naked eye and requires additional processing in order to be seen. This
processing can include basic powder techniques or the use of chemicals. Patent
fingerprints can be made by blood, grease, ink, or dirt. This type of fingerprint is
easily visible to the human eye. Plastic fingerprints are three dimensional impressions
and can be made by pressing your fingers in fresh paint,... Show more content on

Non porous rough surfaces include vinyl, leather, and other textured surfaces. For
porous surfaces, scientists sprinkle chemicals such as ninhydrin over the prints and
then take photographs of the developing fingerprints. For non porous smooth
surfaces, experts use powder and brush techniques, followed by lifting tape. For
rough surfaces, the same powdering process is used, but instead of using regular
lifting tape for these prints, scientists use something that will get into the grooves of
the surface such as a gel lifter or Microcell (a silicone casting material). Once a print
is collected, analysis can begin. During analysis, examiners determine whether there
is enough information present in the print to be used for identification. This includes
determining class and individual characteristics for the unknown print. Class
characteristics are the characteristics (crime Museum, 2016) that narrow the print
down to a group but not an individual. The three fingerprint class types are arches,
loops, and whorls. Arches are the least common type of fingerprint, occurring only
about 5% of the time. Ridges that enter on one side of the print go up, and exit on
the opposite side characterize this pattern. Loops are the most common, occurring 60
65% of the time. Ridges that enter on one side of the print loop around, and then exit
on the same side characterize this pattern. Whorls present a circular type of ridge flow
The Influence Of Political Socialization
Growing up, our views on politics and the government were always one sided
because of the fact, that we didn t understand much about any political situation
but just hear what our parents or family members had to say and agree with it. As
we got older we started to develop and interest for politics and become more active
in it as it will later shape our futures. This process, in which we form ideas about
politics is what we call, political socialization. Given a quiz before hand, we were
tested on out political socialization to be shown what our views lean towards. Our
group was tested to see where they thought they stood on a scale labeling us to
either be more liberal or more conservative. Later during the quiz, we were given
specific questions that would place place us on a two dimensional ideology
diagram to see where we actually stood from answering the questions truthfully. Our
group will compare and contrast each other s personal results from taking the quiz
and also talk about the publics placement. Knowing that we all live a different life
growing up, we will always have our own experiences and develop new ideas and
views towards our politics and government. With attention to, political socialization is
mainly shaped during our childhood, people continue to shape their political views
throughout their lives. Being that family is the most political influence through our
lives we always look to them when we are confused or questioned amongst politics.

Magnetic Organizer will appeal to a young older audience. Both boys and girls can

Magnetic Organizer can appeal to many students who have trouble being

constant struggles of students. Magnetic Organizers can be used by both amateurs
and professionals as both need to be organized in order to either become a
professional, or stay one. The disabled could probably not use this design, as the
main function needed to operate my design is to pull up the bin from the magnetic
lock, and be able to grab whatever is placed inside of the magnetic binder. This is
not a very complex design, so it can be used without much previous knowledge on
how it functions. The concept of the design can be learned fairly quick. Similar

the most common are named folders. This product meets the same purpose as the
Magnetic Organizer, although, is very simple. Papers can fall out if turned upside

there small size can cause us to regard our attention to larger objects, causing the
possibility of forgetting the folder somewhere. Another product is named a bin. A bin
can be used to store many items and papers, although it may not
Good Versus Evil, The Allies Versus The Axis, World War II
Good versus evil, the allies versus the axis, world war II was raging throughout
Europe, Africa, and Asia. Neither winning nor losing was guaranteed to either
side, so each wanted an ace up their sleeve. In fear of Germany acquiring a nuclear
bomb, the United States set up their own program, the Manhattan project, in order
to make one before the Nazis could. With the help of British and refugee scientists,
and a blank check of two billion dollars, now $32.5 billion, the Manhattan project
was born in 1942, and only three years later in 1945, the first atomic bomb was
tested in New Mexico. Ironically, by this time Germany had stopped trying to
make a nuclear bomb. Although the war was reaching its final hour, Japan showed
no intention to surrender, so in order to avoid a costly invasion, the United States
pulled out its ace and dropped Little Boy on Hiroshima and 3 days later, Fat Man
on Nagasaki . With the war having ended and the world having seen the grand awe
of a nuclear weapon, the enemy of my enemy is my friend mentality of the United
States and Soviet Union s alliance was no more, and the two superpowers were thrust
into the Cold War. Although the cold war caused death and despair, the arms race
between the United States and Soviet union had positive effects, therefore the cold
war had a positive effect on the world.
Despite the Cold War having no direct fighting between the U.S and the soviets, there
were still multiple costly indirect conflicts between the two
Cerebral Vasoconstrictive Syndrome Case Study

Internal Medicine, Phoenix, AZ
Introduction: Thunderclap headache (TCH), defined as a severe headache with acute
onset, is a well known presentation of subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH) and other
intracranial pathologies involving the CNS.1 However, reversible cerebral
vasoconstrictive syndrome (RCVS), defined by recurrent headaches (often TCHs)
with or without focal deficits, and segmental vasoconstriction of the cerebral arteries,
is a remarkably common yet under recognized cause of TCH.1 While RCVS
generally follows a benign course, RCVS may precipitate catastrophic complications
including SAH and ischemic or hemorrhagic stroke in a minority of patients.2 This
case aims to enhance the recognition of this relatively common, and potentially life
threatening, cause of TCH. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

ii.With the aid of diagrams explain the difference between a Series and Parallel
Hybrid Electric Vehicles.
Both series and parallel hybrid electric vehicles primarily contain the same parts,
however, they are configured differently. Both types of hybrid electric vehicle
contain a gasoline based engine, a battery which is rechargeable, an inverter,
transmission and an electric motor. The main difference between the two,
disregarding the difference in sizes of the separate parts, is that series hybrid
electric vehicles have a generator whereas in a parallel hybrid electric vehicle the
motor acts as a generator. Moreover, in a parallel HEV, the engine is directly
connected to the wheels, however this is not the case in a series HEV.
In a parallel HEV, the motor and the combustion engine work in accordance to power
the vehicle. The gasoline based engine and motor are both connected to the
transmission. As fuel travels to the engine or the battery is turned on, it propels the car.
In a series HEV, the motor is charged by the battery or generator (powered by
gasoline based engine). Thus, the gasoline engine does not directly propel the car,
unlike in the parallel HEV. The transmission is responsible for determining how
much energy is required and whether to retrieve it from the battery or the generator.
Pictured above, is a parallel HEV system, as made obvious by the position of the

Alarm Fatigue
Abstract
Clinical alarm systems in acute and critical care health care settings are an assistive
way to maintain communication between the client and the nurse. Awareness and
comprehension of health devices is crucial to provide nurses with appropriate
strategies for critical or non critical interventions that can lead to sentinel events. The
ECRI, a nonprofit institute, has identified alarm hazards as the Top Ten Health
Technology Hazards for 2014. (cite) In 2013 The Joint Commission published a
Sentinel Event Alert proposing a National Safety Goal to focus on alarm safety (cite).

The definition of Alarm Fatigue is a situation where people become desensitized to
alarms in response to excessive exposure (merriam webster dictionary). Alarm
fatigue also causes attention spans to be lowered which affects Nurses readiness for
an emergency on their shift. Alarms can be overwhelming and all alarm alerts are
designed differently. In an environment of constant urgency Nurses have even been
described as ignoring the alarms or being negligent. There are also many different
alarm terms, from false alarms and high sensitivity alarms to nuisance alarms. With
so many alarm related terms it is relevant to ensure proper understanding of these the

The Iran Contra Affair Involving Ronald Reagan
In class, we discussed the Iran Contra Affair involving Ronald Reagan. However,
we did not go in depth about public opinion, George H.W. Bush s involvement, or
how people feel about it today. This paper will seek to continue this topic. For
example, the Iran Contra polls showed that most Americans did not believe Regan s
cover stories, yet there was never a push for him to pay the political price, which
would ultimately have been impeachment. Thus this paper will further attempt to
understand the mindset of people that allowed these events to occur with little penalty.
The Public Opinion
To begin, Congress, by fair vote, decided in the 1980s that the United States should
not assist the contras fighting the socialist Sandinista government of Nicaragua (Corn
2006). Yet, the Reagan White House concocted several imaginative ways to pull
an end run around democracy (Corn 2006). Reagan s decisions such as selling
weapons to Iran were made with the knowledge that he would not suffer a decline
in presidential approval. Thus, Reagan took various steps that were violations of
law that not only involved himself, but members of the CIA. By 1986, two big
revelations happened that caused this scandal to abrupt publically. The first was the
shoot down of a cargo plane over Nicaragua and the admission by the sole survivor
that the plane had been delivering arms to the Contras against congressional
restrictions (Kornbluh 2011). The second, revelation was the news story of Lebanon
that stated
Edward Teller Essay
Home Life: Edward Teller was born to Jewish parents Max and Ilona Teller
January 15, 1908 in Budapest, Hungary. The Tellers were an upper middle class
family due to Edward s father being a lawyer. The tellers also had a daughter Emmi
who was twenty months older than Edward. Until Edward was four he showed few
signs of being exceptionally intelligent in fact there was concern that he may lack
even normal intelligence. At four however Edward began to speak in full sentences

close to home, bowing to his mothers insistence, at the University of Budapest. His
father had talked him into studying engineering instead of math as his main
subject. After a dissatisfying period at the university in 1926 Edward enrolled at
the Institute of Technology in Karlsruhe, Germany. In 1928 Edward again

1928 Edward had an accident leaving a moving street car which led to part of his
foot being amputated. This delay in his education would also lead to Edward s
final switch of schools before receiving his Ph.D. Edward transferred to the
University of Leipzig. He received his Ph.D. in Theoretical Physics in 1930. Getting
started: Teller s first position was an assistantship at the University of Gottingen.
Edward would leave Gottingen due to the increasing level of anti Semitism in
Germany. Edward joined a growing exodus of jews leaving for safer countries like

Coyote, Skunk, and the Prairie Dogs
While I find it rather creative to imagine a skunk and a coyote to conspire together

hundreds of years of Navaho storytellers, I am going to attempt to creatively edit
parts of the story Coyote, Skunk, and Prairie Dogs as a written works, and retool it
so that it makes more sense as a modern children s fairy tale. Not that children
would be interested in a story about killing and eating prairie dogs, but I am going to

as possible.

There were rabbits and other animals and even ground squirrels. Those animals that

Then Jackrabbit ran there and ran back saying, It s true!
Then Cottontail ran there and, It s true! he said, running back.

Then they continued their celebrating, and more and more animal people came.

Those Are The Orders, By Albert Camus
People choose every day in different circumstances and degrees either small
imperceptible one, such as the color of the shirt that they will wear, or huge
emotional and moral dilemmas like an abort or a high risk surgery. Nonetheless,
there is always a decision made that has its consequences (want or not). Albert
Camus uses characterization to address the importance of choices. The author uses
the character of Balducci to show what happens when people follow the rules
without doubt. For example, when Balducci arrives into the school to leave the Arab
with Daru, and Daru shows himself discontent with that unforeseen problem, he says,
Those are the orders (Camus). Balducci as a man of law must follow whatever thing
is said to him, and he... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
First, Daru is a schoolmaster who lives in a school upon a rocky and solitary
plateau. His job as a teacher is not a casualty because a professor is the person who
teaches and plants the knowledge and moral over the new generations, and it is his
mission to inculcates those ideas upon his students. Additionally, by he living in a
plateau is a representation of his moral superiority over the other people, and he
has the reason and understands the environment and all the cultures that coexist
together in that region. However, his moral superiority is threat by the arrive of
Balducci and the Arab because Balducci impose a problem over him, and he now
must take a decision which he does not wish for. For example, Daru says, [E]very
bit of this disgusts me... (Camus). He is deeply frustrated for this sudden
complication, and he will rather not to do anything. Besides, the narrator states, He
was amazed at the unmixed joy he derived from the mere thought that the Arab
might have fled and that he would be alone with no decision to make (Camus). If
the Arab escape, he will have no choice to make; thus, he will go back to his moral
equilibrium; nevertheless, the Arab never tries to run away, and now his is facing a
dilemma: That man s stupid crime revolted him, but to hand him over was contrary

describes an illuminated approach and the basic technique for decision making. Kant
determines that following up on a theoretical theory has merit if based on a practical
reason (Foroushania, Mahini, Yousefy, 2012). Therefore, this constructs the form of
ethics in Kant s determination. An individual s affair and background knowledge
structure the establishment that permits the basic methods that prompts sound choices.

A Character Analysis of Katherine Mansfield s Miss Brill...
Katherine Mansfield s Miss Brill is a woman self contained, not pessimistic but
settled, content. She is not a victim of her circumstances, but the satisfied creator of
them. You could say she has her ducks lined up the way she wants them. Through the
character of Miss Brill, Katherine Mansfield reveals a womanwho has the ability to
enjoy a simple world of her own elaborate creation.Miss Brillis a single woman,
probably in her mid to late fifties. She lives alone in a very small space without

Miss Brill engages in shameless people watching. She has taken the practice of
keen observation and elevated it to an art form. Miss Brill ascribes to the notion
that since we all coexist on this planet, we are acting out our lives alongside each
other, the entire world is a stage and we are all in it together. She understands that
most people do not feel quite so connected to one another and that her rose colored
glasses approach to life is not universal, but still she carries on, thriving amongst the
non believers, quietly living out her interpretation of days.
Miss Brill enjoys feeling connected not only to the people around her but also to
favorite objects in her life. She croons to her old fur stole Dear little thing! which
she lovingly refers to as Little rogue! (1) They have enjoyed many dressy days
together and Miss Brill views the fur stole as her pet. While conversing with old,
stuffed garments may seem strange, she is more or less just talking to herself.
How much more would a puppy understand? Would Miss Brill appear saner if she
chatted with a kitty or perhaps a goldfish? Aside from the smashed in nose, her little
stole would look quite realistic curled up on her duck feather quilt, a furry friend
looking up at its owner with fervent eyes, waiting to be stroked, impatient to be
wrapped around the shoulders of its miss, silently nipping its own tail as they stroll to
their favorite destination.

Irish American Culture
My ethnic group is Irish American. I am very grateful to be an Irish American
because I know the sacrifice that my grandparents had to make to leave Ireland to
come to America was a difficult but beneficial sacrifice. Without both of their
brave decisions to come to America, I would not be here today. Both my grandma
and grandpa came over to America as young adults but they did not know one
another. My grandma has three sisters, but only one of her sisters came to America
with her, while the other two sisters chose to stay in Ireland. My grandpa died
before I was born thus I do not know much about how he came to America. My family
has strong cultures when it comes to our Irish Americanheritage. The strongest
culture in my family is the cooking of Irish food. My grandma often makes her
signature Irish soda bread, which is a family recipe that was passed down to me. I
hope that in the future I will make Irish soda bread for my children to continue on
our culture. Although my family always celebrates our culture, we celebrate being
Irish Americans the most on St. Patrick s Day. Every year for St. Patrick s Day my
family makes authentic Irish cuisine. For breakfast, my family makes potato
pancakes, Irish bacon which is thick pieces of ham, black pudding, and bangers
which are thick sausages. My dinner, my family makes corned beef, braised red
cabbage, and potatoes. As my family gathers for St. Patrick s Day, there is always

The Nuclear Metals Incorporation and the Mess They Left...
The Nuclear Metals Incorporation or the Starmet Corporation is located on a 2229
Main Street in Concord, Massachusetts. The site produced depleted uranium products
for armor piercing ammunition. They also created metal powders for medical
applications, photocopiers, and specialty metal products, such as beryllium tubing for
aerospace needs. From1958 to 1985, the holding basin that contained all the industries
waste such as depleted uraniumand copper was unlined, which caused issues. The
Massachusetts Department of Environmental Quality Engineering took ground water
samples that showed volatile organic chemicals (VOCs) in the supply well. This well

In 2004, the Army financed the removal of approximately 3,800 drums of depleted
uranium and other waste materials. The process lasted between the years 2005 to

Repetition And Irony In Charles
Repetition and Irony in Charles
Charles by Shirley Jackson tells the story of a mother of a young boy named Laurie
who goes to kindergarten and starts acting rudely. Laurie comes home from school
talking about this naughty child named Charles. After multiple mentions of the boy
named Charles, Laurie s mother goes to the PTA meeting looking for Charles mother.
Laurie s mom finds herself in a discussion with Laurie s kindergarten teacher and the
teacher tells Laurie s mom that there is not a Charles in Kindergarten. After hearing
this, Laurie s mother learns that her son is Charles. Using repetition and irony, the
author creates the theme that love can be blinding when searching for the truth.

Ereader Case Study Essay
Data is an important component used by all technology and businesses to gain
insights and refine their marketing techniques to improve customer experience.
Through the use of data analysis companies can capture a large amount of data, and
retrieve information regarding the company s trends. In Richard s case using data
analytics allows him to gain better insights on customer behaviors, in which he was
able to determine which factors influence a user to purchase the eReader early. These
factors will allow the team to develop new businessmodels and improve their
marketingstrategies to capture these individuals ( Big Data Analytics , 2017). For

Additionally, I was able to learn how to use RapidMiner to clean and analyze the
data to determine the confidence level that a user would purchase a eReader. For
example, for the user ID of 19889, we can say with a confidence score of 0.410
that the user would be an early adopter of the product. Moreover, I have learned the
importance of cleaning data and the impact dirty data has on the analysis of a
situation. Any outliers, missing, and empty data can skew and impact the creation
of a model that best fits the organization s strategy and question. This analysis
provides the company with the information as to how to improve their marketing
strategies to attract certain customers to purchase the eReader early. As a data

data scientists and analyst to use and perform data models. I hope to use the
knowledge learned in this course to determine if the data being loaded is usable for
the teams and the methods I can take to present a clean dataset. Presenting an

The Gun Laws Of The United States Have A Long History
On
The gun laws of the United States have a long history on determining the credentials
on purchasing a firearm. The 2nd Amendment is there for a reason for all citizens the
right to bear arms. This leads down to the individual States to regulate who can carry
firearms and who cannot. From further research, the regulations that the individual
states have passed are blow backs to Gun Rights Advocates who support the 2nd
Amendment. What the 2nd Amendment does not speak on is those who have been
convicted of a crime and whether they still have the same rights and benefits of those
who have not. In this essay, several cases dealing with legally gun position, individual

All 50 states allow a conceal carry on the same level but only a few are more
restrictive than other. I think this is the issue at hand and can be an issue if the
federal government doesn t fix it. So, to answer the question, who regulates gun
control federal government or the individual states? The federal government regulates
the gun control but without being specific on the gun regulations, the individual
states can form gun laws that restrict a person from possess or carrying a firearm. It s
not right but, there is no clear definition in the Constitution that states that the
individual states cannot make laws on how to obtain a firearm or a carrying permit.
What is the 2nd Amendment about? Before that is stated, the 2nd Amendment

right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed. This should be
simple to understand but apparently, it is not. Let s go through this Amendment to

people to carry or even possess firearms and use them if needed. Just possessing a
gun doesn t mean that you must keep it locked away at home. Shall not be
infringed is a right that shall not be taken away once a law or statue is put out for
the people. No restrictions or limitations shall be put on the citizen for this right on

The tower stands in the seventh arrondissement (district), is rich in history, and is
one of the most visited attractions in Paris. The Eiffel Tower was built in 1889 for
the World s Fair and was the main attraction at the fair. It was constructed to
commemorate the French Continental Army. This memorial was no easy feat to
build. Each of the 18,00 pieces used to construct the tower was specifically made
for this creation. Two and a half million thermally assembled rivets later, this 324
metre tower was successfully finished. Although many people think Gustave Eiffel
is to credit for much of this creation, there are two other men, Maurice Koechlin
and Emile Nouguier, who should be credited. According to Life Science.com,
Koechlin and Nouguier are actually the ones who came up with the original designs
for the tower. Thanks to the work of Koechlin, Nouguier, and Eiffel, the tower is

Choosing The Forbes Travel Guide Star
This means that every month for the last 2 years, 6.2 new luxury hotel were built
in the world. Hotels where each guest may easily fancy himself as prince
surrounded by a flock of courtiers (Sherman, 2007, p. 26) are being required more

consumer interest for the luxury hospitality industry grew 7.7% in one year.
The numbers donВґt lie, the luxury hotels industry is growing fast. But, are they
positioning themselves correctly in the consumer s head? Are they targeting the right
client segment? And what are the triggers they use to attract their consumers?
To answer these questions, I chose two luxury hotels brands. I will evaluate and
compare them covering the brands personalities and positioning, and analyze what
these brands do to motivate the consumers in their purchase decision. The two brands
chosen were The Ritz Carlton and the South African Lodge Londolozi. These very
different choices were made considering The Forbes Travel Guide Star Awards
definition of Luxury Hotel; it defines them as those that provide a memorable
experience through virtually flawless service and the finest of amenities. In these
hotels, the staff is perceptive, involved and passionate, willing to go that extra mile.
They were both designed with the guest s comfort in mind, investing special attention
to quality.

Adolf Hitler And The Holocaust
Adolf Hitler, chancellor of Germany from 1933 to 1945 and fГјhrer of Nazi Germany
from 1934 to 1945, was the mastermind behind both World War II within Europe and
the Holocaust. In the Final Solution, concentration and extermination camps were
implemented in an attempt to rid of the Jewish population entirely. Such a task,
genocide, would not be done easily. By the end of World War II, over six million
Jews had been killed. However, not merely Jews were subject to mass murder, but
nearly five million non Jewish people. Out of all of these deaths, a range from
1,885,889 to 2,045,215 were in the concentration camp system. Furthermore,
approximately one million of these deaths were carried out within the Auschwitz
concentration campcomplex. Thus, one in every six Jews killed during the holocaust
was killed at an Auschwitz camp. These extermination camps were the only means by
which such a multitude of murder could have been efficiently accomplished. The
systematic mechanization of mass murder, using gas chambers and crematoria, made
such high death tolls fathomable, making efficient killing easier both physically and
psychologically.
The concentration camp system was established well before World War II and the
Final Solution. The camps had commonly been constructed in desolate places, free
from German jurisdiction. Thus, allowing murder in both large and small amounts to
be carried out surreptitiously. Some, if not most, of these murders being cursorily

Both Sheldon s and Lombroso s theories have been dismissed due to faulty

still lingers in the criminologist. Another biological theory of crime is more
associated with the genetics of the mind, and whether if a person with certain
mental or genetic abnormalities will be more prone to a life of crime. A part of
this theory is the extra chromosome theory. It has been suggested that a rare XYY
aberration in males may lead the possessor to uncontrolled violence. A large number
of males who have possessed this genetic abnormality have had a high predisposition
to crime and have constituted about 3.5 percent of males in the prison population

symptomatic behavior. In some studies, it is suggested that persons suffering from a

New Seminole City Center Project
For years, the overriding hope for officials, business owners and many residents of
the city of Seminole was for Seminole Mall to be rebuilt and bring with it a vibrant
shopping destination that would usher in jobs and prosperity. That goal seems
within grasp now that developers have proposed tearing down the existing structure
and building a spiffy, more modern design with room for a 12 screen movie
complex, a fitness center, retail shops and restaurants (Lindberg, July 31, 2014). In
this section, the redevelopment of the Seminole Mall into the new Seminole City
Center will be discussed; furthermore, the assessment and analysis of the
effectiveness of the policy initiative, with regards to the economic foresight and in
relation to other city improvements. The policy initiative developed for the Seminole
City Center project was completed using a Development Agreement (DA). The DA
is the primary tool used to support economic development for the City of Seminole.
The DA is derived from the 2015 Florida Statute, Chapter 163 and allows the
developer and the city to negotiate certain items in the redevelopment process (Ely,
2015). It adds certainty to what can be built and how it is built. The regulation of the
agreement offers assistance to the process while adjusting the agreement through
terms that both sides agree upon before the final build outs. The DA becomes the
primary social and political tool to ensure individual choices and the constitutional

DNA Adaptation In DNA
Much of how the human body operates is due purely to one s genetic disposition.
This is due to the way proteins are produced. In protein production, DNA is read
three base pairs at a time making up for a codon which codes for a specific amino
acid. These amino acids are produced in translation, and they will be strung together
by something called tRNA to make full proteins. In DNAreplication, there are many
factors that determine the efficiency and effectiveness of what product is achieved
and how it functions. When base pairs are incorrect, are deleted, or extra pairs
inserted, what is called a mutation occurs. Mutations often times change the structure
of a protein, how it performs, or what protein is produced altogether. They can...

When an offspring has parents with similar genes, mutations in the parents are
much more likely to be expressed. For example, the genes of first cousins share
roughly one eighth of their DNA. If one shares this much DNA with their partner,
the likelihood of specific genes or DNA being donated to the offspring increases
exponentially in comparison to that of an offspring produced from non similar
parents. This allows recessive mutations in the genetic code to be expressed which
is why many deformities, mutations, or handicaps are commonly seen in those
produced from an incestuous relationship. Usually, common mutations that are
seen are actually due to recessive alleles. However, even if the allele is recessive,
having two parents who carry said recessive gene mate can easily cause an
expression of a mutation. In cases of incest, due to relation, mating relationships
can often have this recessive allele and will pass it on to an offspring. As it is
commonly known by way of a punnet square, if two carriers for a recessive gene
mate whose genotypes are (Xx) and (Xx), the offspring will have a 25% chance of
expressing the mutated gene in the form of (xx) alleles. One may think that it is still
not a high chance for mutation; however, in comparison to the chance of a mutation
without a common recessive gene it is seen as an extreme risk. Knowing that such
relations can cause mutations and health concerns helps the population to remove

Giotto s Arena Chapel I have decided to choose Giotto s Arena Chapel. Giotto
Bondone was born and died in Florence, Italy. Giotto s gave life to forms on a two
dimensional surface. The arena chapel was completed around 1305; the fresco
paintings in the interior were commissioned by Enrico Scrovegni, who had
dedicated the chapel to the Virgin of Charity in order to repent his and his father
Reginald s sins of usury. In the thirty eight scenes of the chapel, he had developed a
dramatic narrative program. The arena shows the lives of the virgin and Christ. It
does show a sense of drama and human interiority. (Cole, 1976) With this painting
he had regular used color to express emotion, such as reddened cheeks, or dark
skies. The major tool that he had used was illumination and shading, with that he
had demonstrated the subjects importance and of course the holiness. He added
more weight and shape to his figures to give the scene more of a reality fixture. The
chapel was clear evidence of pictures to tell a complex story. ... Show more content on

the art in the Medieval and Pre Renaissance period was focused on religion and

The Importance Of The QuinceaпїЅera Celebration
The QuinceaГ±era Celebration and The Importance of It The QuinceaГ±era
celebration also known as Fiesta de Quince is the most important event every girl
wants once they turn fifteen. QuinceaГ±era celebrations are formal and very
expensive due to buying the decorations and most important the girls dress. A
traditional father and daughter danceis always important in a quinceaГ±era event. In
the United States many celebrate sweet sixteen even though the quinceaГ±era
tradition has been adapted and still celebrated today.
SYMBOLISM
The main purpose of the event is to thank God for all his blessings he has given the
quinceaГ±era and also to present her in front of all the guest as an adult (Cantu).
The event is to celebrate and honor the quinceaГ±era s maturity as her now being a
women (palfrey). The Party is a way to tell everyone how the quinceaГ±era will now
be ready to make her own decisions (cantu). Everything that will be in the event
highlights God, family, friends, music, and food (The QuinceaГ±era Celebration).
Before the party begins the quinceaГ±era gets pictures taken with her beautiful
dress by a professional photographer that her parents hired (Cordova). The dress
that she wears symbolizes her wearing the first formal adult dress (Cantu). The
quinceaГ±era also wears a tiara and it represents her being the princess of the night
(Cantu). There is a special service for the quinceaГ±era by thanking God for the
opportunity he gave her by having this big celebration and how she has completed
childhood (The QuinceaГ±era Celebration). The quinceaГ±era makes a special
entrance during the service accompanied by her chambelanes (Palfrey). The
chambelanes wear nice suits that match the color of her dress and she has a main
chambelan that dresses different from the others (Palfrey). The girl is seated in front
of the guest at church because she is the most important at that time (Palfrey). The
pastor gives the quinceaГ±era a small lesson on what the celebration actually
means and how she will be acting from now on(Cantu). The quinceaГ±era has to
kneel down during the service on a pillow that has her name on it and pray (The
QuinceaГ±era Tradition). A bible is given to her by her godparents in order for her to

A Universal Truth Of Human Expression
A universal truth of human expression is the inability to fully reveal ones depth of
emotion through outward expression. A smiling man might be crying on the
inside, a blank face can be the wall of a dam, about to crack from the flood of anger
or grief. Our lives exist solely within our minds, our bodies are just vehicles for our
souls. Knowing this to be true, I can only imagine how I would look to a spider
hanging from a web on the wall of my bedroom at one in the morning on October
4th, 2015. It would see the past midnight moonlight pouring in through the window
over my bed like a spilled bucket of neon paint, drenching me in cold blue light. It

Protestants were among the shapers of American political culture in the years before
the civil war began. According to Carwardine, the decrease in power of revivalists led
the evangelical Protestants to ally with political parties to further their agendas. The
political parties, in fact, made special efforts to win the evangelical Protestant s vote.
Carwardine maintains that evangelical Protestants created the ecclesiastical

George Eastman was one of the first to demonstrate the great convenience of dry
plates to wet plates in 1878, making photography easier for all. Since that time, they
have been great innovators in their section of the world, America. Moreover, a huge
American Icon was born. In 1884, the business changed from a partnership to a
company with 14 shareholders, Eastman Dry Plate and Film Company was formed.
In 1885, Eastman American Film opened overseas in London England, and the start

This attention to detail and ability to out pace Kodak technology had endeared Fuji
to its professional market, and serve as a bridge to build credibility on all of Kodak s
markets. It had taken its market share now, and was edging out Kodak on lower
price and even lowers profits just to get ahead. Fuji s most advertised success in
Kodak s market happened in the 1984 Olympics in Los Angeles and every year
since. Kodak tried to come back by getting the TV contract, but Fujifilm had
surpassed Kodak.
George Fisher Kodak s new CEO, has been successful in attracting new talent who
worked in the technology department, Fuji s strength. He hired Daniel Carp a sales
veteran for Kodak who worked all over the world. Daniel traveled the sales markets
and made adjustments to up Kodak s share and Fisher wanted to tap that information
and use it. He was promoted to President and COO and Carp fully realized that the
changing and emerging markets were in taking advantage of that face and his
contacts around the world. To help foster the change, Kodak admitted that they had to
set up shop were the talent was, and to back that up. So they bought a successful
software company in Silicon Valley, and marketing that alliance to the world they
were on their way to climbing out of their complacency.

Taking a Look at a Computer Games Engines
A computer games engine is the building block of a video game. It provides a
software framework which game developers use to create and edit content for
video games. They can feature a large range of tools and elements to aid developers
into creating a game, such as renderers, animation and scripting to name a few. The
engines allow the process of video games to be economized. This is because you can
use the same game engineto create different games. Computer gameengines use a
variety of programming languages, such as Java and C++.
The purpose of a game engine is to provide a suite of visual development tools to a
developer to aid them in the production process. They enable a rapid development
by simply being able to re use meshes, code and textures. Think of it as a big box
and it contains a family of tools to help you with all aspects of creating a game such
as audio, graphics and AI functions.
Ever since video games existed, it took a while for game engines to be part of the
industry. Games would have to be made completely from scratch to make the
optimal use of the hardware. The first few games engines came around in 1983, in
the form of 2D game creation systems for independent use. Pinball Construction Set
and ACSII s War Game Construction Kit were the first 2 that came around with many
more to follow.
History of Game Engines
The first game engine that existed as one was the Space Rogue game engine.
Released in 1989, the engine had the same name as the game that
How Did The Great Depression Affect The Economy
Throughout the history of the United States, many economic recessions and
depressions have occurred, and will occur. These recessions and depressions are in
part caused by the actions of the denizens of the United States on a microeconomic
level, and also by the government itself on a macroeconomic level. The worst of
these economic events is widely considered to be the Great Depression, occurring in
the 1930 s. However, a worldwide event is widely credited with pulling the United
Statesout of what is believed to be it s greatest economic trial: World War II.
Although the second World War was the most destructive war in history, economic
evidence proves that this war brought the U.S. out of its Great Depression.
The Great Depression ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, World War II led to a rise in employment across many fields, whether it
be government or manufacturing. Between January 1939 and November 1943,
employment rapidly rose in the U.S. by 12.9 million jobs, but then fell by 3.7
million through to December 1945. On net, employment increased by an annualized
rate of 3.9 percent during that time span. (Ghanbari, 2). These job growths were
concentrated in manufacturing and government roles, which accounted for 38 and
20 percent of net employment growth, respectively (Ghanbari, 2). On a more
specific note relating to employment, World War II s spike in governmental jobs
was a sustained growth past 1948. Employment in federal government after January
of 1939 rose by an annual 1.5 percent yearly (Ghanbari, 4). Simply put, government
jobs increased rapidly during and after the Second World War, all the way up until
the last noted increase in December of 2015, with local government jobs making up
approximately two thirds of all government employment (Ghanbari, 4). Another thing
that is noted on the topic of employment is that Since 1939, employment trends have
tended to coincide with business cycles, albeit imperfectly, declining during
recessions and rising during recoveries and expansions. (Ghanbari, 5). This quote
and evidence proves how the Great Depression led to a fall in employment, but
World War II expanded the market and allowed
Storm Water In Australia
Main
Stormwater is a quantity of surface water due to a heavy rain or snowstorms.
Stormwater, is often referred to as pure rainwater supply plus containing any
particles or objects. In urban areas, rain that falls on the roof of a house, or collects
on paved areas like driveways, roads and footpaths is carried away through a system
of pipes that is separate from the sewerage system.
All clouds located above contain/hold water vapour and cloud droplets commencing
the process of the water cycle. Droplets similar to Figure 1.1 are often referred as
condensed water. The Water Cycle procedure is repeatedly occurring by evaporating
and condensing to form tiny droplets of condensed stormwater. A substantial
percentage of condensed water is incapable to fall as precipitation since their ... Show

water sustainability. These traditional and comparatively common practices, usually

33.5% of households having a rainwater tank, compared to 11.2% of city
Pros And Cons Of Rational Choice Theory
Rational choice theory is a criminology theory designed by Derek Cornish and
Ronald Clark which states that before people commit a crime they think about what
they are going to do (Snook, Dhami, Kavanagh, 2011). They consider the pros and
cons before performing the criminal action. The entire premise of the rational choice
theoryis that each individual, regardless of whether rich, poor, educated, or
uneducated, all utilize rationality when making the decision to commit a crime
(Taylor, 2013). The rational choice theorypostulates that when a person weighs the
costs and benefits of a crime, that person decides whether or not the benefits are
worth the risk. It is about maximizing his or her own self interest (Jacques Wright,
2010). The

Jyotika Virmani, an oceanographer and XPrize s senior director of prize
operations, stated in late 2015 ninety five percent of the ocean is unexplored. In
fact, we have better maps of Mars. Every time we go, we always find something
new (Bathke). Exploring the deep sea has captured the imagination of humankind
ever since Leonardo da Vinci made drawings of a submarine more than 500 years
ago in 1515. Since the early 20th century, people have been venturing into the ocean
in submersible vehicles. However, it was not until 1960 when Swiss oceanographer
and engineer Jacques Piccard and United States Navy lieutenant Don Walsh

leisure and recreation). These battery operated vehicles allow two to four individuals
generally pilots and scientists, occasionally James Cameron to descend into the
depths to make observations and gather data and samples. The duration of these dives
is limited by battery life, human endurance, and safety protocols, but they typically
do not last more than eight to ten hours, including descent time which is
approximately 4 hours for a seafloor depth of 4000 meters (Thorpe, Steele, Turekian).
Traditionally, humans have investigated the ocean from ships on its surface. But to
really understand what it s like on the seafloor, humans need to be on it. Even so,
many aspects of ocean exploration are best left to robots. Remotely operated
vehicles, or ROVs, are another popular type of submersibles. They are unmanned
vessels controlled by scientists onboard a ship via a tethering cable. On the ship,
pilots send commands and power to the ROV. The ROV then sends back data and
live video to those on the ship. ROVs typically contain sonar equipment, video
cameras, and still cameras. Depending on the research objective, the ROV may also
have manipulator arms for collecting samples of rock, sediment, or ocean life to
return to scientists (Lewis).
The last form of popular submersible, autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs), are
vehicles that can navigate vast distances and collect scientific data without any
human control.

Intelligent Transmission And Distribution Of Smart Grid...
Intelligent Transmission Distribution System in Smart Grid Technology
Hrishikesh Ganesh Divekar
New Jersey Institute of Technology
Abstract: Smart grid technology is the combination of existing electrical architecture
i.e power generation, switchgear, power systems and digital technologies which
provides smart, efficient, reliable and cost effective ways to distribute electricity. It
makes optimal use of power by monitoring, analysis, control, and provides flexible
distribution to maximize the throughput of the electrical system.
The research paper explores the delivery and distribution of power using smart grid
technology. As delivery is the important aspect after generation, for efficient
transmission of power substation automation, outage restoration and power system
analysis plays important role. The paper focuses on distributive approach and its
effective ways which will reduce the power leakage, which generally takes place
during transmission. It also explains working of various industrial and commercial
applications which uses smart grid technology i.e electrical appliances, vehicles
running using renewable source.
I.INTRODUCTION
A smart grid refers to a modernized electricity network that monitors, protects, and
optimizes the operation of its interconnected elements .The electrical sector is set to
make the changes from a centralized, producer controlled network to one that is less
centralized and more consumer based. The transformation to a smarter grid

(Anonymous, 2008). 2. The three types of foundations. According to The Old
House magazine, the average weight of a foundation is seven and a half tons
(Alexander, pg. 2). a. Basement foundations are common in the northeast (89% of
all houses) and midwestern (75%) part of the country. They provide additional
room for families and one of the least expensive ways to expand a home
(Anonymous, 2014). b. The next foundation commonly found in the the midwest as
well is called a crawlspace. The Do It Yourself Network says this foundation gets it
name because the house is literally built above the ground and provides only enough
room to crawl under the house (Anonymous, 2014). c. The last foundation is
typically found in the south called a concrete slab foundation. This foundation is
poured directly on the ground due to hardly any movement from frost and saves on
cost. Note that you are not restricted to have a specific foundation due to the region
you live in. For example you can find basement foundations in the south
(Anonymous, 2014). Transition: The next step after the foundation is the framing.
Now I will inform you about the framing of a house. B. Let s start with the
definition of framing. 1. According to the dictionary website, house framing is a
rigid structure formed of relatively slender pieces, joined so as to surround sizable
empty spaces or nonstructural panels, and

What Is The Tone Of Porphyria s Lover
Robert Browning s Porphyria s Lover he talks about Porphyria and the man she
was seeing. Browning doesn t give the male character a name but the poem was
being told from the male character s point of view. When reading from his point of
view at first the reader would think that this poem would be the typical love poem
because of the narrator s tone. But that suddenly changes as the reader continues to
read on and find out that he ends up killing her toward the end of the poem. Also, by
reading the first few line the reader can conclude that the two characters obviously
comes from different walks of life. But the couple does not allow that to get in the
way of them seeing and communicating with one another. In the poem Porphyria s

was kind of like a if I can t have you no one can situation. The narrator says to
himself that moment she was mine, mine, fair, perfectly pure and good: I found a

wanted her to love him till death. Her darling one wish would be heard (446) in a

research on the Victorian Era the Narrator s cottage meant that he lived in the

he lived on his own. One thing that seem odd to me was the fact that he was sitting
in the dark when his lover arrived at his cottage. It was a stormy night and I m
pretty sure it was cold in his cottage the fact that he didn t bother to light the fire. His

Prolonged Exposure Therapy for Post Traumatic Stress...
Prolonged Exposure Therapy
Definition
According to Tuerk, Yoder, Ruggiero, Gros Acierno (2010), prolonged exposure
therapy is a form of therapy treatment applied in posttraumatic stress disorders.
Prolonged exposure treatment based on behavioral and cognitive levels of therapy, is
a method used in treatment of trauma where the victim remembers the triggers of
trauma rather than letting go, as it has been the case. Trained Social workers,
psychologists and psychiatrist offer treatment to these conditions. What causes post
traumatic stress disorders is not clearly known, but a mix of one s personality,
inherited mental functionality risks, the way the brain releases chemicals in dealing
with stress, and one s life experiences can be used to draw some insights (Powers,
Halpern, Ferenschak, Gillihan Foa, 2010).
This method is useful in trauma cases, which result to depression, anger and anxiety.
It includes strategies and methods used to help individuals deal with past traumatic
events in order to minimize anger and depression. Making an individual remember
their past traumatic events enables them deal with their fears (Rizvi, Vogt, Resick,
2009). The treatment period is dependent on the needs of a client and the healing
progress. Edna. B. Foa is the scholar who developed the therapy program she based
her study on the treatment of anxiety. Practitioners all over the United States have
practiced her strategy on treating trauma caused due to rape, child abuse, motor

Calypso is one of the most significant traditions in the Caribbean Music Industry.
Come, Mister tally man, tally me banana, daylight come and me wan go home, are
the words to a famous calypso song recorded by Harry Belafonte in 1956. The Free
Dictionary defines calypso music as a type of music that originated in the West

broadly humorous subjects . It can also be said that calypso is a certain style of
music which incorporates rhythms that are typical of African music. This type of

This rendition won him a Gold Record in Holland. He also recorded Frank Sinatra
s My Way and Lucho Gatica s El Reloj . It can be said that The Mighty Sparrow
continued to climb the ladder of success in his life, while becoming the most
popular caypsonian of all time by the people. According to Manuel (2006),
Sparrow demonstrated year after year, with his social commentaries that the
calypsonian is really the eyes and ears of the people. Aldwyn Roberts, better
known as Lord Kitchener , shares with Mighty sparrow the title of the world s best
known Calypso singer (Manuel, 2006). Aldwyn Roberts was the son of a
blacksmith, Stephen, and homemaker Albertha. Kitchener s success began after he
moved to England in 1948. His fame continued throughout the 1950s, when
calypso achieved international success (wikipedia.org). He began his career in
Trinidad and won his first Road March award for singing in 1946. He and the
Mighty Sparrow proceeded to dominate the calypso competitions of the sixties and
seventies. It has been stated that Lord Kitchener won the road march competition
ten times between 1965 and 1976, more times than any other calypsonian. In the
1950s, he explored West Africa and enjoyed a big hit there with his single, Nora .
Farlex mentioned that for 30 years, Lord Kitchener ran his own calypso tent,
Calypso Revue, by which he nurtured the talent of many calypsonians, who are:

My Dream In Life
It was just another typical, and boring day in Hopedale, Massachusetts. Working
on a farm meant blood, sweat, and sometimes even tears. I walked up to the barn to
milk the cows, and fed freshly picked vegetables to the pigs, afterward I made my
way two miles to the flea market to sell my milk and wool. By the time I got back,
it had reached dusk, the sky was filled with gorgeous, bright stars that filled every
crack of the dark night sky. I was exhausted and filthy, I smelt like dirty socks that
hadn t been washed in years. As soon as I got home, I hopped into the shower, the
warm water dripping from my hair to my toes. I ran my fingers through the rough
tangles in my curly brown hair. As I grabbed the shampoo bottle I could feel my
feet burning from the blisters on my the bottom of my feet. I turned knob on the
left side of the shower to turn off the water and reached for a dry towel and
wrapped it around my waist. Water trickled down my legs as I attempted to dry
myself off. I slipped into my favorite warm pajama pants and put on a large teal
sweatshirt, then i got into bed and pulled the covers up to my face and
immediately dozed off into a deep sleep. I dreamt of the future a life filled of
adventure with a young boy that I could call my own. Suddenly, there was a loud,
blaring sound coming from across the room. RING RING RING RING I rushed to
see where the commotion was coming from, it was my phone, there were five missed
calls from Jedd. Sweat rushed to my hands, he

  • 2. verbatim theatre Verbatim essay; the main purpose of Verbatim theatre has always been to challenge audiences into a confrontation with real events and concrete facts, an to prevent their escapism into theatrical fantasy. How well does this statement apply to Verbatim plays, RRR and LP? Alfred Hitchcock commented, what is drama but life with the dull bits cut out. This quotes is typically true of drama, however verbatim theatre is contrary to this as it forces it audiences to confront serious issues and offers conventions that shy away from fantasy world. Verbatim theatre is from of documentary theatre in which plays are constructed from the exact words and testimonies from interviewed people. These testimonies are based of people opinions ... This idea is presented much in the same way as Augusto Boal s Theatre of the Oppressed, through allowing the audience s voices to be heard empowering them and creating a sense of community. This breaking of the fourth wall, allows the actor to talk directly to the audience, creating more of a conversational atmosphere. This helps to reinforce to the audience that what they are watching is real and they are encouraged to form opinions about what they are seeing. In Run Rabbit
  • 3. The Emerging Role of the US in WW I Essay Unlike World War II, the causes of World War I were more like politically complex. It all started in Europe when the continent was split into two sides. Since a lot powers were involved in mutual agreements and all the countries in the continent take their sides. That is why when the war did happen; they were force to support the policies. America on the other hand, is not part of any alliance to any country in Europe. America does not want any kind of participation during the war as they are more focusing on the booming of their industry. United Statesis becoming a powerful nation that they were forced to join the war because their people and their economy are threatened to go into a big slump, which still happened after. United States ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... That is why according to Tindall s book: British actions, including blacklisting American companies that traded with the enemy and censoring the mail, raised some issues of neutral rights, but the German reaction introduced an entirely new question (938). The Germans put a warzone near the enemy s water and thus using submarines to make a surprise attack to any ship that goes to the warzone, even if it is a merchant ship. This plan by the Germans were clearly violated the neutral rights but on the other hand, it may be a violation but Germans cannot take all the blame. According to Howard Zinn s book called A People s History of the United States, It was unrealistic to expect that the Germans should treat the United States as neutral in the war when the U.S. had been shipping great amounts of war materials to German s enemies (362). The Germans were just trying to be careful because the British were also using neutral flags as a ruse (Tindall 938). But the main reasons why the United States took a step forward in joining the war was first, when the Germans torpedoed the Passenger ship Lusitania, killing more than a thousand passengers. Second, the U.S. has a much more investment with the allies than the Germans since the allied forces loans more money than the Germans and thus losing was not an option for them because they would not be able to payback their debts. Then third, probably the most important
  • 4. Coral Reefs And Bleaching Phenomenon Essay Imagine yourself observing one of the most diverse ecosystems on earth. Thousands of species of plants and animals provide a dizzying array of color and motion. Massive structures provide a canopy that shelters hundreds of exotic species in a myriad of microclimates. As land based observers, we almost automatically assume that this is a description of the rich ecosystem of a tropical rainforest. However, if we take ourselves off the safety of dry land and immerse ourselves in the ocean, we will find an equally dynamic environment in the depths of our worlds coral reefs. As a Zoology major, I quickly decided to explore this biological component of the ocean environment. In the following paper, I will provide a general overview of coral... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Sometimes growing from a single polyp, a colony of thousands of similar polyps is soon established through sexual and asexual reproduction. The sheer vastness of a coral reef provides many other benefits. Coral reefs are crucial land builders in tropical areas, forming islands and altering continental shorelines. Coastlines are also protected from erosion as the reefs dampen harsh incoming waves. This is vital to maintaining the white sandy beaches that drive the tourist motivated economies in tropical regions. An example of the value of coral reefs in this regard is illustrated by Jon Luoma in his article Reef Madness . Luoma explains that after a land reclamation project that destroyed a reef in the Maldives, the government had to spend more than $12 million to build an artificial seawall that served the same purpose(24). As with all diverse ecosystems, the coral reef must maintain a stable environment. Any changes in the physical ocean components can upset the balance of this ecosystem. Temperature, water depth, salinity, wave action, and turbidity all effect the growth of coral reefs. According to biologist Clive Wilkinson of the Australian Institute of Marine Science, it is humans who have caused the death of 5 10% of the world s living coral reefs (Wilkinson 1987). One direct cause of coral depletion is overfishing. The overfishing of herbivores, which normally consume algae, can cause an explosion
  • 5. Sir Richard Charles Nicholas Branson Sir Richard Charles Nicholas Branson (born 18 July 1950) is a British industrialist best known for creating the Virgin brand of over 360 companies. According to Forbes he is the 264th most wealthy man on earth, with an estimated net worth of approximately 5.4 billion dollars. Branson has dyslexia and had poor academic performance as a student, but later discovered his ability to connect with others. His first successful business venture was at the age of 16, when he published a magazine. At 20 he set up an audio record mail order business, followed shortly thereafter by a chain of record stores called Virgin Records, which was later known as Virgin Mega stores. Branson s Virgin brand grew rapidly during the 1980s as he set up Virgin Atlantic Airways and expanded his Virgin Records music label. In 1993, Branson was awarded an honorary Doctorate degree of Technology from Loughborough University. He was knighted in 1998 for his services to entrepreneurship . In 2000, Branson received the Tony Janus Award for his accomplishments in commercial air transportation. One of his best known projects private spaceflight company Virgin Galactic faced a setback in October 2014 when one of its spaceships exploded in mid air, killing a test pilot and injuring another. Still, Branson continues to develop rocket powered planes with the goal of transporting tourists to space. He is the patron of several charities, including the International Rescue Corps and Prisoners Abroad, a
  • 6. Revolutions In The Cuban Revolution Why do revolutions occur? What actors are usually involved? This are the two central questions that both Charles Tilley and Samuel Huntington attempt to answer by examining the reoccurring patterns of armed resistance and collective violence. Huntington and Chase both claim that revolutions are rare events which occur because of modernization. However, Chase and Huntington both have very different definitions of modernization, along with different models of revolutions. Chase points to gender ideas as central to various opposition movements within the Cuban Revolution, and she highlights the road to a revolutionary moment in which women were pivotal (Stevens 9/18/17). Huntington s model of revolution involves a sudden explosion of political participation due to modernization, and revolution occurs when the established order is unable to keep up with the demands of the newly integrated groups. I feel that Tilley provides the best model of revolutions because he does not simply attribute armed revolutions to the undefined term of modernization, but instead focuses on the roles of omnipresent actors involved in these revolutions (these actors being; the government, the various contenders of power, and the polity). I would argue that his argument is more logically sound because he points to a tangible sources of power, such as a government s coercive apparatuses, as a revolutionary barrier which must be overcome with armed resistance and a strong support base in order for
  • 7. Obesity As A Risk Factor For Cardiac Health After putting together all my researches, I found that they all had the same results to their surveys and data collections and the same conclusion; obesity is a major problem in American society and it leads to multiple health issues. Data shows that obesity is the cause of chronic disease risk, morbidity, high healthcare costs and social costs (Nestle Jacobson 2000). After the American society has identify obesity as a risk factor for cardiac health, many federal agencies has come up with guidelines, educating American people how to reduce their calorie intake, how to stay active and burn calories in order to maintain healthy body weight. • 8. The Purpose Of Collecting Fingerprints The purpose of collecting fingerprints is to identify an individual. This person may be the suspect, a victim, or a witness. There are three types of fingerprints that can be found: latent, patent, and plastic. (Crime Museum, 2016) Latent fingerprints are made of the sweat and oil on the skin s surface. This type of fingerprintis invisible to the naked eye and requires additional processing in order to be seen. This processing can include basic powder techniques or the use of chemicals. Patent fingerprints can be made by blood, grease, ink, or dirt. This type of fingerprint is easily visible to the human eye. Plastic fingerprints are three dimensional impressions and can be made by pressing your fingers in fresh paint,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Non porous rough surfaces include vinyl, leather, and other textured surfaces. For porous surfaces, scientists sprinkle chemicals such as ninhydrin over the prints and then take photographs of the developing fingerprints. For non porous smooth surfaces, experts use powder and brush techniques, followed by lifting tape. For rough surfaces, the same powdering process is used, but instead of using regular lifting tape for these prints, scientists use something that will get into the grooves of the surface such as a gel lifter or Microcell (a silicone casting material). Once a print is collected, analysis can begin. During analysis, examiners determine whether there is enough information present in the print to be used for identification. This includes determining class and individual characteristics for the unknown print. Class characteristics are the characteristics (crime Museum, 2016) that narrow the print down to a group but not an individual. The three fingerprint class types are arches, loops, and whorls. Arches are the least common type of fingerprint, occurring only about 5% of the time. Ridges that enter on one side of the print go up, and exit on the opposite side characterize this pattern. Loops are the most common, occurring 60 65% of the time. Ridges that enter on one side of the print loop around, and then exit on the same side characterize this pattern. Whorls present a circular type of ridge flow
  • 9. The Influence Of Political Socialization Growing up, our views on politics and the government were always one sided because of the fact, that we didn t understand much about any political situation but just hear what our parents or family members had to say and agree with it. As we got older we started to develop and interest for politics and become more active in it as it will later shape our futures. This process, in which we form ideas about politics is what we call, political socialization. Given a quiz before hand, we were tested on out political socialization to be shown what our views lean towards. Our group was tested to see where they thought they stood on a scale labeling us to either be more liberal or more conservative. Later during the quiz, we were given specific questions that would place place us on a two dimensional ideology diagram to see where we actually stood from answering the questions truthfully. Our group will compare and contrast each other s personal results from taking the quiz and also talk about the publics placement. Knowing that we all live a different life growing up, we will always have our own experiences and develop new ideas and views towards our politics and government. Both boys and girls can be unorganized, and therefore the Magnetic Organizer is for both genders. The Magnetic Organizer can appeal to many students who have trouble being organized in school. Leaving folders, papers, or homework somewhere are constant struggles of students. Magnetic Organizers can be used by both amateurs and professionals as both need to be organized in order to either become a professional, or stay one. The disabled could probably not use this design, as the main function needed to operate my design is to pull up the bin from the magnetic lock, and be able to grab whatever is placed inside of the magnetic binder. This is not a very complex design, so it can be used without much previous knowledge on how it functions. The concept of the design can be learned fairly quick. Similar Products Many common products meet the need as the magnetic organizer. One of the most common are named folders. This product meets the same purpose as the Magnetic Organizer, although, is very simple. Papers can fall out if turned upside down, and can cause much stress if done on accident. Another downside to folder is there small size can cause us to regard our attention to larger objects, causing the possibility of forgetting the folder somewhere. Another product is named a bin. Neither winning nor losing was guaranteed to either side, so each wanted an ace up their sleeve. In fear of Germany acquiring a nuclear bomb, the United States set up their own program, the Manhattan project, in order to make one before the Nazis could. With the help of British and refugee scientists, and a blank check of two billion dollars, now $32.5 billion, the Manhattan project was born in 1942, and only three years later in 1945, the first atomic bomb was tested in New Mexico. Ironically, by this time Germany had stopped trying to make a nuclear bomb. Although the war was reaching its final hour, Japan showed no intention to surrender, so in order to avoid a costly invasion, the United States pulled out its ace and dropped Little Boy on Hiroshima and 3 days later, Fat Man on Nagasaki . Both series and parallel hybrid electric vehicles primarily contain the same parts, however, they are configured differently. Both types of hybrid electric vehicle contain a gasoline based engine, a battery which is rechargeable, an inverter, transmission and an electric motor. The main difference between the two, disregarding the difference in sizes of the separate parts, is that series hybrid electric vehicles have a generator whereas in a parallel hybrid electric vehicle the motor acts as a generator. Moreover, in a parallel HEV, the engine is directly connected to the wheels, however this is not the case in a series HEV. In a parallel HEV, the motor and the combustion engine work in accordance to power the vehicle. The gasoline based engine and motor are both connected to the transmission. As fuel travels to the engine or the battery is turned on, it propels the car. In a series HEV, the motor is charged by the battery or generator (powered by gasoline based engine). Thus, the gasoline engine does not directly propel the car, unlike in the parallel HEV. The transmission is responsible for determining how much energy is required and whether to retrieve it from the battery or the generator. Pictured above, is a parallel HEV system, as made obvious by the position of the electric motor and

Bush s involvement, or how people feel about it today. This paper will seek to continue this topic. For example, the Iran Contra polls showed that most Americans did not believe Regan s cover stories, yet there was never a push for him to pay the political price, which would ultimately have been impeachment. Thus this paper will further attempt to understand the mindset of people that allowed these events to occur with little penalty. The Public Opinion To begin, Congress, by fair vote, decided in the 1980s that the United States should not assist the contras fighting the socialist Sandinista government of Nicaragua (Corn 2006). Yet, the Reagan White House concocted several imaginative ways to pull an end run around democracy (Corn 2006). Reagan s decisions such as selling weapons to Iran were made with the knowledge that he would not suffer a decline in presidential approval. Thus, Reagan took various steps that were violations of law that not only involved himself, but members of the CIA. By 1986, two big revelations happened that caused this scandal to abrupt publically. The first was the shoot down of a cargo plane over Nicaragua and the admission by the sole survivor that the plane had been delivering arms to the Contras against congressional restrictions (Kornbluh 2011). Nonetheless, there is always a decision made that has its consequences (want or not). Albert Camus uses characterization to address the importance of choices. The author uses the character of Balducci to show what happens when people follow the rules without doubt. According to Life Science.com, Koechlin and Nouguier are actually the ones who came up with the original designs for the tower. Thanks to the work of Koechlin, Nouguier, and Eiffel, the tower is Paris s most visited attraction. According to Frommer s Guide to Paris, on a high day, the tower can host over 32,000 people. That adds up to about 7 million visitors a year. When visiting this historic monument, a tourist should keep in mind the rich history and process involved in making this big

Hotels where each guest may easily fancy himself as prince surrounded by a flock of courtiers (Sherman, 2007, p. 26) are being required more and more every day. The World Luxury Index (2014) revealed that the global consumer interest for the luxury hospitality industry grew 7.7% in one year. The numbers donВґt lie, the luxury hotels industry is growing fast. But, are they positioning themselves correctly in the consumer s head? Are they targeting the right client segment? And what are the triggers they use to attract their consumers? To answer these questions, I chose two luxury hotels brands. I will evaluate and compare them covering the brands personalities and positioning, and analyze what these brands do to motivate the consumers in their purchase decision. The two brands chosen were The Ritz Carlton and the South African Lodge Londolozi. These very different choices were made considering The Forbes Travel Guide Star Awards definition of Luxury Hotel; it defines them as those that provide a memorable experience through virtually flawless service and the finest of amenities. In these hotels, the staff is perceptive, involved and passionate, willing to go that extra mile. They were both designed with the guest s comfort in mind, investing special attention to quality. Adolf Hitler And The Holocaust Adolf Hitler, chancellor of Germany from 1933 to 1945 and fГјhrer of Nazi Germany from 1934 to 1945, was the mastermind behind both World War II within Europe and the Holocaust. In the Final Solution, concentration and extermination camps were implemented in an attempt to rid of the Jewish population entirely. Such a task, genocide, would not be done easily. By the end of World War II, over six million Jews had been killed. However, not merely Jews were subject to mass murder, but nearly five million non Jewish people. Out of all of these deaths, a range from 1,885,889 to 2,045,215 were in the concentration camp system. Furthermore, approximately one million of these deaths were carried out within the Auschwitz concentration campcomplex. Thus, one in every six Jews killed during the holocaust was killed at an Auschwitz camp. These extermination camps were the only means by which such a multitude of murder could have been efficiently accomplished. The systematic mechanization of mass murder, using gas chambers and crematoria, made such high death tolls fathomable, making efficient killing easier both physically and psychologically. The concentration camp system was established well before World War II and the Final Solution. The camps had commonly been constructed in desolate places, free from German jurisdiction. Thus, allowing murder in both large and small amounts to be carried out surreptitiously. Some, if not most, of these murders being cursorily reported. As

Both Sheldon s and Lombroso s theories have been dismissed due to faulty evidence and inconsistencies, but the idea of biological predisposition to crime still lingers in the criminologist. A part of this theory is the extra chromosome theory. It has been suggested that a rare XYY aberration in males may lead the possessor to uncontrolled violence. A large number of males who have possessed this genetic abnormality have had a high predisposition to crime and have constituted about 3.5 percent of males in the prison population (Reckless, p. 42). The other parts of genetic theories of crime are associated with symptomatic behavior. • 33. New Seminole City Center Project For years, the overriding hope for officials, business owners and many residents of the city of Seminole was for Seminole Mall to be rebuilt and bring with it a vibrant shopping destination that would usher in jobs and prosperity. That goal seems within grasp now that developers have proposed tearing down the existing structure and building a spiffy, more modern design with room for a 12 screen movie complex, a fitness center, retail shops and restaurants (Lindberg, July 31, 2014). In this section, the redevelopment of the Seminole Mall into the new Seminole City Center will be discussed; furthermore, the assessment and analysis of the effectiveness of the policy initiative, with regards to the economic foresight and in relation to other city improvements. The policy initiative developed for the Seminole City Center project was completed using a Development Agreement (DA). The DA is the primary tool used to support economic development for the City of Seminole. The DA is derived from the 2015 Florida Statute, Chapter 163 and allows the developer and the city to negotiate certain items in the redevelopment process (Ely, 2015). It adds certainty to what can be built and how it is built. The regulation of the agreement offers assistance to the process while adjusting the agreement through terms that both sides agree upon before the final build outs. The DA becomes the primary social and political tool to ensure individual choices and the constitutional governance that
  • 34. DNA Adaptation In DNA Much of how the human body operates is due purely to one s genetic disposition. This is due to the way proteins are produced. In protein production, DNA is read three base pairs at a time making up for a codon which codes for a specific amino acid. These amino acids are produced in translation, and they will be strung together by something called tRNA to make full proteins. In DNAreplication, there are many factors that determine the efficiency and effectiveness of what product is achieved and how it functions. When base pairs are incorrect, are deleted, or extra pairs inserted, what is called a mutation occurs. Mutations often times change the structure of a protein, how it performs, or what protein is produced altogether. They can... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... When an offspring has parents with similar genes, mutations in the parents are much more likely to be expressed. For example, the genes of first cousins share roughly one eighth of their DNA. If one shares this much DNA with their partner, the likelihood of specific genes or DNA being donated to the offspring increases exponentially in comparison to that of an offspring produced from non similar parents. This allows recessive mutations in the genetic code to be expressed which is why many deformities, mutations, or handicaps are commonly seen in those produced from an incestuous relationship. Usually, common mutations that are seen are actually due to recessive alleles. However, even if the allele is recessive, having two parents who carry said recessive gene mate can easily cause an expression of a mutation. In cases of incest, due to relation, mating relationships can often have this recessive allele and will pass it on to an offspring. As it is commonly known by way of a punnet square, if two carriers for a recessive gene mate whose genotypes are (Xx) and (Xx), the offspring will have a 25% chance of expressing the mutated gene in the form of (xx) alleles. One may think that it is still not a high chance for mutation; however, in comparison to the chance of a mutation without a common recessive gene it is seen as an extreme risk. Knowing that such relations can cause mutations and health concerns helps the population to remove possible

Giotto Bondone was born and died in Florence, Italy. Giotto s gave life to forms on a two dimensional surface. The arena chapel was completed around 1305; the fresco paintings in the interior were commissioned by Enrico Scrovegni, who had dedicated the chapel to the Virgin of Charity in order to repent his and his father Reginald s sins of usury. In the thirty eight scenes of the chapel, he had developed a dramatic narrative program. The arena shows the lives of the virgin and Christ. It does show a sense of drama and human interiority. (Cole, 1976) With this painting he had regular used color to express emotion, such as reddened cheeks, or dark skies. The major tool that he had used was illumination and shading, with that he had demonstrated the subjects importance and of course the holiness. He added more weight and shape to his figures to give the scene more of a reality fixture. The chapel was clear evidence of pictures to tell a complex story. ... The engines allow the process of video games to be economized. This is because you can use the same game engineto create different games. Computer gameengines use a variety of programming languages, such as Java and C++. The purpose of a game engine is to provide a suite of visual development tools to a developer to aid them in the production process. They enable a rapid development by simply being able to re use meshes, code and textures. Traditionally, humans have investigated the ocean from ships on its surface. But to really understand what it s like on the seafloor, humans need to be on it. Even so, many aspects of ocean exploration are best left to robots. Remotely operated vehicles, or ROVs, are another popular type of submersibles. They are unmanned vessels controlled by scientists onboard a ship via a tethering cable. On the ship, pilots send commands and power to the ROV. The ROV then sends back data and live video to those on the ship. ROVs typically contain sonar equipment, video cameras, and still cameras. From a reader point of view I would say loved drove him into killing her it, it was kind of like a if I can t have you no one can situation. The narrator says to himself that moment she was mine, mine, fair, perfectly pure and good: I found a thing to do (446). The Narrator didn t want her love for him to ever go away, he wanted her to love him till death. Her darling one wish would be heard (446) in a way, as a reader, I think he helped her free herself from how society expectation. During that time because they weren t in that same social class or the narrator not being in a higher social class than Porphyria they re love was forbidden While Porphyria was alive she made a comment that referred to they re social class. From research on the Victorian Era the Narrator s cottage meant that he lived in the countryside (Mitchell 116). It also meant that he could ve been a laborer and that he lived on his own. One thing that seem odd to me was the fact that he was sitting in the dark when his lover arrived at his cottage. It was a stormy night and I m pretty sure it was cold in his cottage the fact that he didn t bother to light the fire. His lover was one who started a fire

What causes post traumatic stress disorders is not clearly known, but a mix of one s personality, inherited mental functionality risks, the way the brain releases chemicals in dealing with stress, and one s life experiences can be used to draw some insights (Powers, Halpern, Ferenschak, Gillihan Foa, 2010). This method is useful in trauma cases, which result to depression, anger and anxiety. • 56. My Dream In Life It was just another typical, and boring day in Hopedale, Massachusetts. Working on a farm meant blood, sweat, and sometimes even tears. I walked up to the barn to milk the cows, and fed freshly picked vegetables to the pigs, afterward I made my way two miles to the flea market to sell my milk and wool. By the time I got back, it had reached dusk, the sky was filled with gorgeous, bright stars that filled every crack of the dark night sky. I was exhausted and filthy, I smelt like dirty socks that hadn t been washed in years. As soon as I got home, I hopped into the shower, the warm water dripping from my hair to my toes. I ran my fingers through the rough tangles in my curly brown hair. As I grabbed the shampoo bottle I could feel my feet burning from the blisters on my the bottom of my feet. I turned knob on the left side of the shower to turn off the water and reached for a dry towel and wrapped it around my waist. Water trickled down my legs as I attempted to dry myself off. I slipped into my favorite warm pajama pants and put on a large teal sweatshirt, then i got into bed and pulled the covers up to my face and immediately dozed off into a deep sleep. I dreamt of the future a life filled of adventure with a young boy that I could call my own. Suddenly, there was a loud, blaring sound coming from across the room. RING RING RING RING I rushed to see where the commotion was coming from, it was my phone, there were five missed calls from Jedd. Sweat rushed to my hands, he
