Elapsed Time In The Classroom
The math lesson that my practicum partner and I performed in our classroom was
a review of elapsed time. The topic of our lesson was telling and writing time to the
nearest minute and to solve word problems involving addition and subtraction of
time intervals in minutes. The concept of elapsed time is actually a relatively hard
topic, especially at eight years old and having remembering it after returning from
spring break with pre PARCC anxiety. That being said, this review was beneficial for

I was happy with the pair sharing because the students can explain ideas in ways that
I may have never considered, and their explanation may help other students
understanding. In addition, there is a great sense of classroom community discourse
that occurs with this specific class, their level of respect for each other is incredible.

different word problems for about 4 minutes at each station. I think the students liked
that they were able to move around. Also the amount of time we gave them was
challenging and fun, without making it too intense like a drill. When we went over
the answers to the problems we had students come demonstrate how they got their
answer on the whiteboard and discuss why they chose the method/strategy they did,
which was good because some other students were able to observe and learn. My
main regret from this lesson is having the activity answers discussed and displayed

Bacillus thuringiensis is a spore forming bacterium that produces crystals protein
which are toxic to many species of insects. Therefore it is used a natural pesticide. It
is naturally occurring throughout the world and its usage is very common. There are
thousands of different Bt strains. The kurstaki strain being the most common kills
only leaf and needle feeding caterpillars. In the last ten years, Bt strains have been
mostly used to control the abundance of flies, mosquitoes, black flies, amongst
others. When it comes to Bt strains, the target is very specific. The strains for
mosquitoes will only target them and not affect other insects. Even though Bt is used
in aerial spraying programs and transgenic crops its main usage in organic farming.
In 1901 while performing research on Sudden Collapse Disease on silk worms,

out in a medical college to find out the incidence of displacement of copper T over a
period of one year (Jan 2013 to Dec 2013). Total 240 copper T were inserted as IUD.
There were only two cases of displaced copper T. In one case, cooper T migrated
into adjacent broad ligament while in another case it migrated into urinary bladder.

ultrasonograpgy and computerized tomography. Copper T in urinary bladder was
removed endoscopically. Postoperatively patient was alright.
Results
In our department, over the last one year, there have been two female patients with
the diagnosis of displaced copper T. Only one case was with copper T migration in
urinary bladder where as in another case it migrated to broad ligament. There was
no stone formation around the copper T. Cases were diagnosed with the help of
