amount of literature that grows by the day. For this reason, a full review of all debates is not feasible1.
However, this paper endeavours to give justice to the importance of both the topic of dividend policy
as an area of financial economic research, and also to the literature that has been produced addressing
that topic, by reviewing the most important and influential studies in this area. It attempts to outline
the main theories and explanations of dividend policies and to review the main empirical studies on

In life, a person is never able to stay in contact with every person they have met. An acquaintance is

if voters are capable of recalling the name of the House candidate, whether it be the incumbent or the

much the voters cared about election result, data from a survey research was drawn to make a

How to Mark a Book by Mortimer J. Adler. How to Mark a Book by Mortimer J. Adler is an essay
over the author s belief on the importance of marking or writing inside a book. Adler s primary
purpose is persuasive. He writes to convince the reader to partake in writing in one s own books when
reading to become more efficient. Adler s secondary purpose is expressive because of the way he
describes his least favorite type of reader: There are three kinds of book owners. The first has all the
standard sets and best sellers unread, untouched. This deluded individual owns woodpulp and ink, not

daughter in law should keep her own identity rather than exposing every part of herself to her
husband. Rich is addressing the fact that women were not expected to achieve anything besides
marrying and having a family, the typical 1950 s stereotype that many women abided by. But in this
stanza, the Mother In Law is almost hinting that the Daughter In Law still has time to break away
from this stereotype and create her own life and her own identity apart from her husband, an idea that
