Transfer of learning refers to carrying over thinking habits, knowledge, skills, and attitudes from one learning situation to another. There are three types of transfer: positive transfer occurs when learning one subject facilitates learning another; negative transfer is when learning one subject interferes with learning another; and zero transfer means learning one subject neither helps nor hinders learning another. Theories of transfer include the theory of formal discipline which holds that mental faculties are sharpened by exercise, the theory of identical elements which says transfer depends on similarities between situations, and the theory of generalization which is that skills must be systematized and related to other situations to transfer.

Psychology of learning is a branch of psychology that focuses on understanding how individuals acquire, process, and retain knowledge. It explores the cognitive, behavioral, and emotional processes involved in learning new information and skills.
This field of study investigates various theories and models of learning, such as behaviorism, cognitive psychology, social learning theory, and constructivism. It explores how external factors, such as the environment and experiences, as well as internal factors, such as attention, memory, motivation, and intelligence, influence the learning process.
Psychologists in this field examine how different types of learning occur, including classical conditioning, operant conditioning, observational learning, and problem-solving. They investigate how individuals acquire and store information in their long-term memory, as well as how they retrieve and apply it when needed.
Furthermore, the psychology of learning also analyzes the impact of various teaching methods and strategies on learning outcomes. It aims to identify effective instructional techniques that facilitate optimal learning experiences and help individuals reach their educational goals more efficiently.

The term "cognitive psychology" was first used in 1967 by American psychologist Ulric Neisser in his book Cognitive Psychology. According to Neisser, cognition involves "all processes by which the sensory input is transformed, reduced, elaborated, stored, recovered, and used.
It is concerned with these processes even when they operate in the absence of relevant stimulation, as in images and hallucinations. Given such a sweeping definition, it is apparent that cognition is involved in everything a human being might possibly do; that every psychological phenomenon is a cognitive phenomenon."

Information Processing.
Operant Conditioning (B.F Skinner & Thorndike) ....Thorndike’s Law Of Effect clearly states that behaviors that produce desirable outcomes are more likely to be repeated whereas behaviors that produce unpleasant outcomes are less likely to be repeated
Introspection by Wilhelm Wundt
“the study of conscious experiences of the individual”....Use of Introspective Method
1- Set a task.
2- Ask participants to report on what their brains/hearts are processing as they carry out the task. EXAMPLE: Solving and arithmetic problem
Constructivism....It emphasis is placed on the action and prior "knowing" and experience of the learner....creates the sense and joins new knowledge into existing structure or adapts structure to accommodate new knowledge
Humanistic Theory ...Learning involves the concept of learning through watching the behavior of others and what results from that behavior....The teacher's role, according to the humanistic theory, is to be a role model. The teacher can make appropriate behavior and inappropriate behavior.....The role of the student is to explore and observe. Students can use self-evaluation techniques to monitor and observe their own behaviors and make necessary changes
Gestalt is phenomenology, which is the study of how people organize learning by looking at their lived experiences and consciousness.....The human brain has the ability to make a map of the stimuli caused by these life experiences.......This type of learning requires the learner to use critical thinking and problem solving skills. Rather than putting out answers by rote memory, the learner must examine and deliberate in order to find the answers they are seeking
Information Processing
Based on the thought process behind the behavior. The theory is based on the idea that humans process the information they receive, rather than merely responding to stimuli (i.e. That think about what is happening)

While they pose environmental challenges, ongoing research and development aim to create more sustainable and eco-friendly alternatives. Understanding the importance of synthetic fibers helps in appreciating their role in the economy, industry, and daily life, while also emphasizing the need for sustainable practices and innovation.
The French Revolution, which began in 1789, was a period of radical social and political upheaval in France. It marked the decline of absolute monarchies, the rise of secular and democratic republics, and the eventual rise of Napoleon Bonaparte. This revolutionary period is crucial in understanding the transition from feudalism to modernity in Europe.

Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.

2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.
The Art Pastor's Guide to Sabbath | Steve ThomasonSteve Thomason
What is the purpose of the Sabbath Law in the Torah. It is interesting to compare how the context of the law shifts from Exodus to Deuteronomy. Who gets to rest, and why?
2. The process of carrying
over habits of thinking,
knowledge, skills and
attitudes from one
learning situation to
another is called transfer
of learning.
What is transfer of learning?
3.
4. 1 POSITIVE TRANSFER
If the learning of one subject is or activity
facilitate the learning of another subject or
activity , it is called positive transfer.
5. 2
If the learning of one subject or activity
interferes with the learning of another
subject or activities called negative transfer.
NEGATIVE TRANSFER
6. 3 ZERO TRANSFER
If the learning of one subject or activity
neither facilitate nor interferes with the
learning of another subject or activity, it is
called zero transfer.

THEORIES OF FORMAL
DISCIPLINE
According to this theory mind is composed of a number
of independent facilities like memory, attention,
imagination, reasoning etc. These facilities can be
sharpened by exercise. Therefore, educational practice
emphasized the necessity of developing the faculties of
mind by vigorous mental exercise.
9. 2
THEORY OF IDENTICAL
ELEMENTS
This theory was put forward by Thorndike.
According to this theory transfer takes place
one situation to another to extent that there
are identical elements in the two situations.
10. 3
THEORY OF
GENERALISATION
This theory was developed by Charls Judd. According to
him development of special skills, mastery of specific fact
achieving of particular habits or attitude in one situation
have little transfer value unless the skills, facts, habits are
systematized and related to other situations in which they
can be utilized.
