Socratic Christian Philosophy David Talcott Analysis
While reading the article Socratic Christian Philosophy, I have come to the conclusion that Socrates
knows much about how to follow a god and how not sway away from his beliefs, but his arrogance
and god like personality come in the way of that because at some points it seems as though Socrates
believes he is as high as god. David Talcott, the author of this article, even mentions that he believes
that Socrates may have a gift which makes him as divine as god. Talcott suggests that Socrates knows
a lot about that Christian philosophy before it was even created but I believe how Socrates goes about
presenting this information is a problem because he seems too arrogant. For example, in the Apology,
Socrates says he believes poets are not wise ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This voice is not a part of Socrates thinking process but rather a voice bestowed onto him by the gods
and even if it was a part of his mental process, it is still a gift from a greater power. Talcott also brings
up the point that once Socrates receives instructions from god he will follow it through completely
like when he went on the mission to prove he was not the wisest of all men as god said he was and he
interrogated all of the wise men he could think of until coming up with the conclusion that they are not
wise which ended up being one of the reasons he was subjected to death. Socrates obeys god no matter
where it leads him and believes that it is better to harm yourself rather than to harm others because
when you harm others you are also ruining your soul in the process which is a belief shown in many
branches of Christianity. Socrates believing he speaks to a god is problematic because it makes him
believe that he is higher than all other beings which ends up with him judging others based on what he
believes is wise or not

The Cultural Values Of An Organization
The Underlying Cultural Values of an Organization Brian C. Satterlee (2014) discuss, Culture is the
set of shared attitudes, values goals, and practices that characterized a society, or in the business sense,
an organization (p.42). The definition of Cultural values in the Cultural values Business Dictionary
(2015) lists, Cultural values are commonly held standards of what is either acceptable, unacceptable or
the opposite of both. Also, an organization can be described as a group of people that interact with
each other to perform essential functions that help attain goals (Daft, 2013, p. 12). Combine these
three underlying concepts combine the cultural values of an organization. The Cultural Values of an
Organization The cultural values of an organization are conjoined with the shared attitudes, values
goals of an individual or an organization with the same mission and/or business (Satterlee, 2014).
Organizations may offer a product or item, but the merchandise is not what necessarily keep the
outsider returning. The value an outsider is intrigued with is the symbol, the shared attitude, and value
goals offered. As a result, the outsider recognizes the symbols presented, which is comparable to what
the insider saw. For example, Steve Jobs is not experienced with the apple product, Steve Jobs is the
apple product. The apple product concept was incardinated inside Mr. Jobs and was shared with the
world. Subsequently, insiders recognized and accepted the commonly held

Juvenile Delinquent Crimes
What is considered a juvenile delinquent? Criminal courts would say that a juvenile delinquent is a
child that is between the ages of 7 to 14 years of age. Nowadays, 14 year old children can be charged
with certain crimes that may be handled like adults. Today, many states determine that a child is
considered to be a juvenile until the age of 18; however, in some states they set limits at 16 and 17
years of age. Under the age of 18, many offenses are considered juvenile delinquency. We see that
crimes that are committed by juveniles have increased with violent crimes, drug crimes, gangs, and
many more. With this in mind, some may argue to charge the juvenile as an adult based on the
seriousness of the crime. These delinquent acts are considered to be crimes that may be committed by
adults or even ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Delinquency is crimes that are committed by youths; as well as, adults. These delinquencies include;
violent crimes, property crimes, criminal homicide, drug related offenses, and disturbances to the
public order. Status offenses illegal crimes for youths but not adults, these types of crimes are beyond
parents or guardians control. Status offenses include; truancy, parental disobedience, and runaways.
23% of offenses committed by females are status offense verses the 4% of boys. Both are juvenile
court jurisdictions; however, more serious crimes may be subjected to criminal court and even prison.
Multiple factors exist through understanding what leads a juvenile to delinquent behavior. Biological,
sociological, and psychological factors hold high merits in explaining crime to delinquency. Some also
study that age definitely factors closely to offending behaviors. Children with traumatic backgrounds
can exhibit symptoms such as anxiety and/or depression. This typical behavior amongst juveniles is
overlooked; which in return can cause PTSD, then to a delinquency life

Intoux Pearl Advertising
Advertisements are important to get the brand s name known, so they can sell products and make
money. It is important for a company s name to be out there so they can sell things because if people
do not know about their brand then they probably would not buy it. Advertisements are used to
convince people that their product is worth spending money on. The advertisement I will be exploring
is a Tampax Pearl tampon ad I found in an InTouch magazine. The exigence for this ad is that the
company feels not enough people are buying this brand of tampons due to the many other brands that
sell similar products. Because of this, the purpose of this advertisement is to get more people to buy
their tampons over the many other companies. When flipping through the magazine this ad is located
in the first thing I noticed was the cliff view overlooking the water. The way it captured my attention
was what the marketers meant for it to do. The beautiful scene was a good way for them to get people
s attention because of lots of people because it is it a way mesmerizing. In the advertisement is a

Essay On Cubes
Cubes Essay For the cubes essay I had to watch a video over four companies. Those companies that I
watched a cubes video over were MLB Network, ABC News Headquarters, The Huffington Post, and
New York Magazines. All four of these firms all have one thing in common with each other. That trait
that they all have in common is that there are all businesses devoted to spreading news to its audience.
I picked these four because I thought working at a place that spreads news would be a good suit for
me.However, even though all these businesses are devoted to spreading news they all spread different
news in different ways. Out of those four cubes videos I watched the one job that I would want to

about this job all traces back to baseball. No matter what job that you do there, wether it be providing

if I could see myself fitting in enough. For example the job at ABC News just wouldn t be the fit for
me because it does not involve something that I am passionate about. Same as the Huffington Post it
involves news and I just don t know if that is the kind of environment for me. Same as the job at New
York Magazines, writing is not my strong suite so I wouldn t be that great working at a magazine
place. The workplace that would foster the most creativity with me is the job at MLB Network. This is
because sports are something that I am passionate and know a lot about. Any kind of work that
involves something you enjoy you are more likely to get involved in. Not only that, the job here would
make me more likely to foster creativity because I already know about the topic we are dealing with

St. Lucy s Home For Girls Raised By Wolf Summary
St. Lucy s Home for Girls Raised by Wolves is a collection of short stories. The story that is in our

title story a pack of girls that were raised by wolves are being brought to St. Lucy s Home for Girls
Raised by Wolves were a group of nuns awaits them. The nuns want to reeducate the pack of wild
girls to act like civilized girls. They have a five stage procedure that is supposed to follow the process
of the girls being reeducated. But there is one girl, Mirabella, who just doesn t wants to get

They all were trying to do small talk with each other but it seemed awkward. When the nuns called out
that it is time for the dance that they were learning, Claudette tried to scurry away and hide in the
corner that Mirabella was in because she did not wanted to be in the spot light. Kyle, one of the
brothers, ended up pushing her into the spotlight. Standing in the spotlight, Claudette forgot
everything she learned and only remembered how to act like her old wild self. This shows that no
matter how hard the nuns try to reeducate wild girls to be civilized girls, there will always be a part in
them that will remain wild for the rest of their life. When she threw of her shoes and howled for help,
the only one that came for help was Mirabella who chewed through her restraints to help her.
Mirabella jumped on her back and started growling at imaginary predators. In her mind, Claudette was
grateful for Mirabella s help and thought that she never loved her more than in that moment. This
shows that Claudette still is a wild girl in some parts since she admitted that she still loved Mirabella
which in a way shows that she still thinks that she belongs to the pack. Earlier in the story, shortly
after she started getting used to the new lifestyle she said that she hated Mirabella. But Claudette
doesn t thanks Mirabella for her help but rather blames her for ruining the dance.

Gender And Gender Inequality
Long time ago, parents tended to invest on their sons rather than their daughters. In the past, most of
boys went to school, and girls stayed home. At that moment, the women were not treated equally
because they did not go outside to work. The women only stayed home to take care of children and do
housework, so they depended on their husband financially. Nowadays people have still treated one
another differently based on group identity, especially when it comes to gender appearances. Gender
inequality has been happening around the world, it still occurs at some careers, workplaces, and at
home. Culture has a great impact on gender inequality in some developing countries. For instance,
Vietnamese people like to have more sons rather than daughters because they believe in raising a
daughter is like watering your neighbors garden, and raising a daughter as ploughing someone else s
field (Jayachandran, 2014, p. 11). In Vietnam, parents usually invest more on their sons rather than
daughters because the sons play a significant role in religious rituals. Jayachandran (2014) reported
that sons will carry on the family name or widows wanting to retain family land also make the first
son especially valuable (p.14). Therefore, the sons are valued in my family. I still remember when I
was a child, I saw my mother tried to be pregnant several times to have baby boys. However, she had
only one boys, and four girls accidently. When I was a little, I noticed the gender was

day on, school was closed, and without school, life is like ashes pg 25 This quote demonstrates that
Taliban closed the school so quickly with the only reason saying that this school is against the God
and killing the teacher. The place to learn knowledge disappeared like how ashes do, 2. Everyone
(including me) is interested in staying alive, and in order to stay alive we re willing to do things we
don t like pg 52 This quote shows the way of living in the community. No one can live without doing
something the person hates. Children got abused and forced to work, people got forced to buy
somethings. 3. You should be kind to everyone and shouldn t have to check their identity card or
religious affiliation pg 52 This quote mentions how we should be nice to older people, same age and
lower age without underestimating others even though they have other religion, poor and rich. It
means that we have to treat everyone same without discriminating or only doing well to one people. 4.
When you don t have a family, your friends mean everything to you pg 87 This quote illustrates how
important friends are because if someone do not have a family, it means that the person does not have
anybody to rely on others. The major job of a true friend is listening when others are depressed, this

Persuasive Essay On Childcare
Childcare
Childcare is the starting point in your children s lives. The choices you make on childcare can affect
them greatly. It is when they will begin to meet the friends that they will grow up with as they go
through grade school. Children need this step in their lives to adjust from staying at home, to staying
with other children in a completely different surrounding. There are so many different options for
childcare now a days, it is extremely hard to say which is the most beneficial for children. In this
paper I will discuss the childcare decisions that my mother made for me, what to consider when
evaluating childcare, and compare them to some of my references and see how they are similar and
also how they differ.

You should check reviews and ask others parents for their opinions on the facility. Also see if they
help the children by encouraging them to learn the basics such as manners, colors, and social skills.
Most importantly make sure that your child will have a safe and clean environment that they can learn
and grow in. The foundation for a clean and safe environment is so very important, you should not
have to worry about the wellbeing of you child while you are away. From the book Improving
Literacy in America: Guidelines from Research the author Frederick J. Morrison states than As a more
proximal source, early childhood care and education programs are seen as potent weapons in the effort
to improve children s literacy. If you do not take the precautions and insure that your child will have
the right start off to their education then yes it more than likely will end up hurting the child in the
later on in their life. My mom always was the one to make the decisions on childcare for us she
wanted a place that would benefit us but also a place that was in her price range. She has always been
very hesitant to let us stay with just anyone, she wants a place that has experience and reliability. My
family has always used Pinecrest for most of my brothers and cousins. The one exception is my five
month old little sister which my mother is choosing to stay at home with. My mother is a self

The Great Depression was a major event in United States economic history. The Great Depression was
the worst economic downturn in the history of the industrialized world, lasting from 1929 to 1939 (

federal government to build dams to control flooding and to generate hydroelectric power. Congress
passed a bill that same month that paid farmers who farmed basic products to leave their fields in

able to unionize for higher wages and better work conditions. Along with the National Industrial
Recovery Act, it established a public works administration. The Glass Steagall Act effectively
separated commercial banking from investment banking and created the Federal Deposit Insurance

being signed into law by President Franklin D. Roosevelt in June 1933 (9). This act was a very
important act for banks across the nation. The bill was designed to prevent the diversion of funds for
other purposes, provide a safer and more effective use of assets of banks, and to regulate interbank
control. The Wagner Act, more formally known as the National Labor Relations Act, created a board

Bodily Fluids Essay
Bodily fluids are vital pieces of evidence in both criminal investigations and forensic analyses. Fluids,
including blood, semen, saliva, urine, feces, and vaginal secretions, can provide critical information
related to a crime and assist in reconstruction. However, in order for this type of evidence to relay the
proper information, forensic scientists need reliable methods to help identify and process the evidence
collected. Over years of research, those in the forensics field have developed a number of methods for
the identification of these bodily fluids. These traditional methods are widely accepted by the forensic

Color tests are easy and rapid to perform because one simply needs to swab or rub filter paper on an
area thought to contain blood and add reagents to the swab or filter paper to observe a color change.
This makes the color tests non destructive as well, making the sample available for further analyses.
Both phenolphthalein and leucomalachite green can be used on older bloodstains as well [1]. Color
tests have another advantage in that they do not dilute samples because it involves swabbing or
rubbing filter paper on a stain and adding reagents to the swab/paper itself [1]. The color tests have
been found to have sensitivities of 1:10,000, which is quite sensitive for a presumptive assay, and
therefore very beneficial [1]. However, these color tests do have a few different materials that will
produce a false positive, such as plant materials and heavy metal salts for phenolphthalein. Since each
assay has its own list of materials that will cause false positives, this is a disadvantage that all of the
screening tests share because it may cause conflicts during analysis

Cons Of Communism Research Paper
Capital as such is not evil, it is it s wrong us that is evil. Capital in some form or other will always be
needed (Winston Churchill). There are three main economic systems of governance. Communism is
under the control under one major party that is the only producer, no private property and the goods
are available and equal to all. One of the major cons of communism is that it takes away the voice of
the people which goes against equality which is very important. Socialism has a government that
produces and distributes goods based on their work unequally. There is not a major party but is
democratic. It is the median of capitalism and communism. One of the major cons of socialism is that
it can result in a lack of motivation. In capitalism, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When firms have such power, they change prices that are higher than can be justified based upon the
costs of production. Monopolies are not a problem because there is still money being acquired and
there is still competition. To produce high end products, it is easier to have one large firm rather than
several smaller ones. In other cases monopolies are essential for utilities like water and electricity. It
makes the most sense for a monopoly to control this because of the upfront expensive cost. If they are
not essential, the other companies would need to work harder to take down the monopoly. More
competition from the humans in animal farm rather than support might have animal farm more

Competition and promotive equality are the main essentials for capitalism to be the most effective.
Competition makes businesses work harder to top each other. Companies can even think they have a
chance of taking down a monopoly. This system of government would have made animal farm more
of a success where all the animals were equal but the competition between animals and human would

Frq 1775 to 1830 Slavery in America
In the time period between 1775 and 1830, African Americans start to gain more freedom in the North
while the institution of slavery expanded in the South. These changes occurred due to the existence of
different point of views. The North did not need slavery and acknowledge the cons of slavery while
the South s want for slavery quickly became a need. After the American Revolution, The North slowly
started to rid itself of slavery while the South implemented slavery into their daily lives. Slaves existed
right from the start of American history and during the American Revolution. The British used the
African American slaves to their advantage by granting them freedom in return. In Lord Dunmore s
Proclamation of 1775, he stated that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
During this time period, the treatment of slaves improved because they were treated more like humans
rather than farm animal. Some slave owners even allowed their slaves to purchase their freedom by
working for them for a certain amount of time. Some African American slaves were not as lucky for
their masters forbid them to do so (Doc F). As the North finally gets rid of all slave activity, the South
becomes more and more dependent on slave labor and more embedded into the system. Both free and
enslaved Africans were discriminated against in this time period but responded differently towards
their challenges. African Americans found ways to cope with their situation one being religious
gatherings (Doc D). They sang old traditional African songs and danced. By doing so, they can forget
about life troubles for a moment and give themselves a sense of hope that someday they would by
free. Some slaves where more violent than other and began rebellions against their white owners. The
use of rebellion was inspired to them by the Bible and that God was pleading for their cause with
earnestness and zeal (Doc G). Slaves who caused mischief was relocated deeper south where the
treatment and condition was even worse. The Fugitive Slave Law forced the North to send back any
slaves who escaped to the North in return for a reward. Slaves who tried to escape to the North were
also relocated. By relocating them, the chances of escape decreased for them. Even

Impact of Martin Luther
Luther was a German patriot. He was never a nationalist in the modern sense of the word. Luther was,
above all, a pastor, professor of theology and iconic figure of the Protestant Reformation. Luther has
been variously identified as an advocate of absolute monarchy, democracy, individual freedom,
intellectual repression, nationalism, internationalism, spirituality and secularism. He was a religious
figure; his battles were fought over theological issues that may seem to us obscure but whose
implications touched every area of life, individual and corporate. Some people consider Luther to be
the apostle of absolutism, some later autocrats certainly claimed him as a founding father (Wilson,
2007 p. 19). Hergenhahn (2009) showed ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

which the great man regaled his guests at meal times (p. 20).
Phillips (1970) says Desiderius Eramus (1466 1536) a Dutch humanist, he was an ordained priest of
the Roman Catholic Church and studied at the Univ. of Paris. Erasmus combined vast learning with a
fine style, a keen and sometimes sharp humor, moderation, and tolerance. His position on the
Reformation was widely denounced, especially by Martin Luther, who had first looked on Erasmus as
an ally because of Erasmus attacks on clerical abuse and lay ignorance. Erasmus was finally brought
into open conflict with Luther and attacked his position on predestination in On the Freedom of the
Will. Then Luther came to understand justification as entirely the work of God. This teaching by
Luther was clearly expressed in his 1525 publication On the Bondage of the Will, which was written
in response to On Free Will by Desiderius Erasmus (1524) (p. 24).
Important note and this was interesting, but I do not remember where I read it but it said something

The First Ten Days Of College Essay
The first ten days of college are some other experience. When I arrived on campus for the Eagle
Incentive Program it was in the high nighties with some humidity. Moving in wasn t that bad, it was
just extremely hot. I was breaking a sweat walking up and down the Southern Pines stairs. The next
day was time to say goodbye to my family. After giving my mom a big warm hug and a kiss goodbye,
seeing them leave was a weird feeling. As I walked up the stairs to head back in my room the feeling
really crossed my mind that I wasn t going to see her again for another five weeks. It was an emotional
few seconds saying goodbye, but I knew my mom was proud of my accomplishments that I achieved.
Motived to work hard and make her even more of a proud mother; my sad emotions soon turned into
happy thoughts.
Well, it was not long before my mom was disappointed in me. My first week here I actually got

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Water Fluoridation
WATER FLUORIDATION: A high degree of reduction in caries/ tooth decay occur when fluoride
content is approximately IPPM (i.e. one part of fluoride to one million part of water), the prevalence
of oral fluorosis increase greatly when the concentration of fluoride is more than 1pm. Therefore, the
optimal concentration of community fluoridation is 1pm. The very first community water fluoridation
was in Grand Rapids in USA in 1945 and these produced a reduction in caries between 40 50% in
deciduous teeth while in permanent dentition is 50 60%. Apart from caries reduction, there is also a
slower rate of progression of caries lesion less involvement of oral pulp. Many more people have
caries free teeth or dentition. It was noticed that these four differences occur and its lifelong protection
for the water fluoridation is interrupted the caries protective effect is diminished. Drinking habits are
affected by temperature and failure to make adjustment for this many result in increasing incidence in
fluorosis in one climate. To achieve maximum protection for both primary and secondary teeth, the
consumption of fluoridated water is essential as it acts directly as topical agent as well as
systematically during teeth formation. Proximal and surfaces are more protected than pits fissures.
ADVANTAGE OF WATER FLUORIDATION (WHO 1984): The major advantage of water
fluoridation is that apart from school (students) the entire community benefits adequately irrespective

Archaeologists have found many different funerary practices used in Ancient India. They have found
numerous graves and found a wide variety of funerary practices such as some bodies wrapped in
reeds, and some in cotton cloth. They were placed in wooden coffins and most people were buried
with pottery and urns that contain ashes. Families would wail at the death of a relative to show their
grief.
Cremation is the process of burning the body it was first introduced to the western world by the
Greeks in 1000BCE. Large pottery urns that were dated to around 1900BCE were use to store human
ashes which provided us with the earliest evidence for the practice of cremation which is the burning
of a body. Cremation was very much associated with the

Loughton Brook Essay
In this Geography GCSE controlled assessment project, I will be focusing on rivers and I have chosen
a hypothesis to prove that erosion is making an impact on the Loughton Brook Rivers. My hypothesis
is, The river Loughton brook becomes wider and deeper due to erosion as it moves downstream . I
will be investigating if erosion takes place downstream in the river. I will investigate if hydraulic
action has an impact. I will study about vertical erosion, lateral erosion, Cross profile and hydraulic
action. The geography field trip we are going to is called Loughton Brook which is located in Epping
Forest. Epping Forest is the hugest public forest in London. It is almost 6000 acres and has an area of
about 12 miles. Two thirds of Epping ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In site one there was a high proportion of very unspherical rocks. According to this the hypothesis is
right, in site two there is a lot more smother rocks medium sized and in site 3 there are very small
pebbles which are very smooth and spherical. The pebbles get smoother and rounder while it goes
downstream. Due to us only taking about 10 rocks our result may have been not right as there were
some pebbles which were largely over sized. Most of the other load is dissolved by solution such as
limestone and chalk Gradient The gradient in site 1 was 0, in site 2 it was 3 and in site 3 was 4. The
hypothesis for this was the river gets steeper as you go downwards as the gradient decreases. My
measurement is correct based on facts and my theory. Conclusion The results shows us that the
hypothesis between the river Loughton brook and the erosion shows that it gets wider and deeper due
to many reasons such as vertical erosion, lateral erosion, hydraulic action and abrasion of rocks. Water
width and depth increase downstream more erosion through increased water volumes. Velocity
increases downstream due to greater energy levels of higher volumes. Gradient decreases due to
slower rate of depth increase downstream. Long axis of pebbles decrease downstream, eroded in
transportation process. Strengths of methods used i can take

Moral Ambiguity in The Stranger Essay
Has there ever existed a person that has not judged someone else over their lifetime? Judging by
reality as well as literature it seems that no person like that has ever existed. It appears that it is human
nature to want to pronounce others as either purely good or evil. But does everyone fit into the mold
of good or evil? In Albert Camus s The Stranger, Meursault is a morally ambiguous character, and this
ethical indistinctness plays a major part in the novel as a whole and the theme that Camus is trying to
portray.
Meursault resists being typecast into an archetypal moral category in many of his deeds and actions.
Many of his actions in Part One of the novel help contribute to the fuzzy picture of the character. For
example, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Abstractly, it almost seems as though the other characters in the book look down on his for this not
because he is not mourning, but rather because he is not mourning in the way they are. This sheds
light on the overall theme of the novel, that of people being cast out of society because their views and
methods do not line up with the accepted ways of society.
The same moral ambiguity is also present in Meursault s murder of the Arab and the ensuing trial. As
far as absolute morality goes, the murder is without question an act that falls on the evil side of ethics.
That point is not a topic for debate, but in the reasons behind it the reader can find even more of
Meursault s moral ambiguity. At the time, he does not seem to know why he is doing what he is doing,
but it is certainly not out of spite or malice, nor out of any specific hatred of the Arab himself. He
could be harboring a grudge on behalf of his friend, which would be understandable, since Raymond
is one of the only people we see Meursault truly connect with in the novel, if it can even be called that.
He could be taking preemptive action in self defense, especially after he sees the knife glinting in the
Arab s hand. In truth, it is never truly revealed what his motive for his rash action was, making it hard
again to

The World s Urban Population
1 Introduction background From 2011 to 2050 it is expected that the world urban population is rise
from 7.4 billion to 9 billon. Much of this will be in the cities of developing and less developing
countries (World Urbanization Prospects the 2011 Revision, 2012). Therefore maximum of the
development will happen in Asia and Africa. Population will be living in urban areas by 2020 and
2035 respectively. It is forecast that the world s urban population will grow by 1.4 billion during the
period of 2011 and 2030. China will be Share 276 million and India be 218 million in this increment.
India will account for slightly over 15.5% of increase the world urban population (World Urbanization
Prospects the 2011 Revision, 2012). Urban population is growing and that are going to be face
problem like congestion and pollution. India contribute 6% of world Road accidents and 10% of world
road death rate. More than the 1.41 lakh people die in road accidents and more than 1 million deadly
road accident take place every year. They are mostly of pedestrians or cyclist. For them there is hardly
devoted space on road (Jain, 2014). Indian cities are urbanizing and population is increasing 280
million in 2001 and 590 million by 2030 probably. Motor vehicle population in India has increase by

geography of the land was both good and bad for this time era. There was an abundance of trees. This

for growing crops. This land was lush in animals which was a good protein source for the settlers.
Jamestown had a river running through it which was a source for water. The summers were the bad
part about Jamestown is was swampy. What the result of this was lots of flies and mosquitoes. The
mosquitoes carried lots of diseases. The summers were also very tropical which resulted in high
humidity. In this hot humid environment the settlers did not want to work. The winters in this area
were bitter cold. Jamestown was a great place to start a settlement. This area was lush in flora. The
flora included pine trees they used for fire wood because pine wood is a soft wood. There were also
oak trees which they used to create structures. They used this wood because it is a very sturdy hard
wood. It was lush in nuts and wild berries. The fauna was great for Jamestown Settlers. There was so

The Physics Of Quantum Computers
My topic is quantum computing. We can say that quantum computers are likely to move out of science
fiction and research labs and into practical applications. A quantum computing is way faster than a
normal pc. Google already have one and make many test online. A quantum computer is a new
complex technology. This computer is not available for us yet. This new engine represent a lot of new
possibility for us. Some person tell that the teleportation would be available, but this is too far. Old
computers can t afford all what a quantum computer can do, and that mean one day they will
disappear. Quantum computing has a lot of benefice, for example, it uses superposition, help to
improve the actual technic by solving problems that are too complex for today s computational
systems, and are have a lot of requirement to work properly.
Quantum computer are fascinating. Even better, a quantum computer is a computer design which uses
the principles of quantum physics to increase the computational power. A traditional computer can t
reach the same level of power or operations. A quantum physics is the study of matter and energy at
the molecular, atomic, nuclear, and even smaller microscopic level. Also, thanks to superposition and
entanglement, a quantum computer can process a vast number of calculations simultaneously. Where a
classical computer works with ones and zeros. Superposition is essentially the ability of a quantum
system to be in multiple states at the same time (IQC,

Kofi Annan believes that globalization is unavoidable when he compares it to the laws of gravity
which is inescapable; this is exemplified when he states that arguing against globalization is like
arguing against the laws of gravity . He believes it is pointless because it is bound to happen and
instead of fighting against globalization individuals should embrace and take the advantages it offers.
Kofi Annan has been the recipient of a Nobel Peace Prize along with many other honorific awards and
has served as a secretary general of the United Nations. Kofi Annan is definitely aware of what
happens globally and values the concept of world peace and development because he has seen the

The European colonization was a period in history when European countries such as Britain rapidly
took over and colonized many parts of the world which led to trade and interaction between different
peoples. Throughout the centuries of European control much advancement has been made in
transportation, communication and technology. In particular, the printing press, which was created
around the 1500 s was a printing medium used to copy text. The printing press was slow to develop,
but it gradually initiated one of the first technological advancements which spread throughout
European cities and countries. This meant that with more printing presses being made there were more
copies of texts which led to a faster way of communication. The invention and advancement of the
printing press was one of the first contributing factors of globalization through communication. One of
the other major events that shaped history was the Silk Road. The Silk Road was an ancient trade
route stretching from Europe to Asia. It was used to export goods, but also served as a means of
carrying out cultural trade amongst different civilizations and it was used to exchange ideas. This
presents the idea that even though initially its purpose was only to trade and gain materials, it
eventually transformed into a way of communication between many different

Pay For Performance Incentive Awards Program For Reliance...
Pay for Performance Incentive Awards Program for Reliance Partners LLC
Due to existing economic expansion, many corporations are searching for new alternatives to get rid
of the guaranteed benefits way of thinking, to using their limited budgets, for increasing performance.
In modern day business salaries increases are decreasing. In order to retain key employees, enterprises
are turning to a more practical way of differentiating their employees and enhancing performance. To
clearly create an associate between rewards and performance of the firm, they are using power tools
like incentives and pay for performance programs. The results of switching to a performance
philosophy help to draw, engage, and retain top talent. In this case, I will be using a hypothetical
company, and assuming the role of Vice President of Human Resources that is required to design,
support, and implement a Pay for Performance Incentive Rewards Program for both senior
management and all the employees.
Strategic Compensation
In the current economic situation, companies are relying on strategic compensation as a new way to
motivate, engage and retain their employees. Strategic compensation is a tool organizations use to
improve motivation and increase performance, while linking its workforce with the company s
objectives. Compensation when used strategically, it becomes a power tool that gives firms a

Ysleta Mission
Ysleta, Texas
Mission Corpus Christi de la Ysleta, the first mission in Texas, was established by Antonio de Otermín

Indians. The Tigua came as refugees and captives with the former Governor of New Mexico, Antonio
de Otermín on his retreat to the El Paso area after his unsuccessful attempt to recover New Mexico in
the winter of 1681 82 during the Pueblo Revolt. La Misión de la Ysleta del Sur, consecrated in 1682,

New Mexico. The mission was located east of present day El Paso. The pueblo and mission were

Family as defined by Webster s College Dictionary can be one of many different people. Family can
be your parents, spouse, children, brother, sister, grandmother, uncle, any blood relative, or even
people who are not blood related that share that common bond (Webster 475). My definition of family
is similar to Webster s, but I feel that there is more to it than just being a blood relative or close friend.
A person s actions, beliefs, and morals play a major role in deciding who makes it into that family
group. Family becomes more of an idea or feeling, like love or hate, than just who a person is or

There are four different relationships portrayed in this writing. There is the granddaughter and
grandfather, father and daughter, mother and daughter, and a new bond between the granddaughter,
Lucy, and her beau, Steve. Although there is definite conflict between the grandfather and both his
granddaughter and his daughter, you can still see the elements of family portrayed in their actions and
beliefs. The granddaughter is ready to break free from her current main family and start a new family
of her own. This causes her grandfather to resent her, possibly due to the empty nest feeling since she
is the last one to leave the house and be married. This can be seen when he says to his daughter, She s
the last. Can t we keep her a bit longer? (Lessing 20). This shows the strong love necessary to have
that true family in a household. The mother knows that another step in her job is done and that it is
time to let go. The daughter is showing her defiance and desire to be a grown woman, to take that next
step in her life. Although she is bitter with her grandfather in the beginning of the story, she shows her
true love for her grandfather when the story portrays her crying as the grandfather finally lets go,
perhaps not wanting to be let go the releasing of his birds is a metaphor for the releasing of his
granddaughter to the world (Lessing 20 21). Steven shows his wanting of acceptance by Lucy s

The characters were melodramatic and lively which them each captivating and intriguing in their own
way. Most of the characters were in the upper class of society and were stereotyped of their respective
characters. For example, Einstein and his wife were a snobbish upper class couple who were portrayed
as people who elegantly go through life sipping campaign, going to balls and having all of their needs
fulfilled by Adel, the stereotypical maid and housekeeper. Price Orlofsky was a regular snobbish
prince who was often never satisfied with anything going on around him. Frank was the typical large
and proud jail keeper. Dr. Falke was the typical revengeful antagonist who was plotting his revenge
throughout he elaborate plot. This brings to Einstein, the protagonist, who was played as the slightly
naive typical rich respected townsman. My response to how these characters were portrayed was that
they were done very well. They were done in a way that you could understand everything going on,
even with the large amounts of complex singing.
The acting in this Operetta was very well done. The actors spoke and carried themselves exactly like
the character they were playing would have acted. They all spoke with different voices, accents and

Disney Theme Park Case Study
Disney displays an interesting effect on the global Asian market through their park based in Shanghai.
The Disney s theme park collects its revenue from four main areas, admission charges, merchandise
sales, food and beverage, and other miscellaneous fees such as locker rental. Middle class families,
tourists and residents are the main customers to the park. Disneyland is in the business of theme parks.
As the main motivator for tourism trip and core factor of related products, theme parks are important
players in the tourism industry. In 1955, with his extraordinary creativity, Walt Disney established the
first theme park Disneyland in Los Angeles, California. Different entertaining activities were
combined to create a dramatic and fancy world, which attracted numerous tourists from all around the
world. An image was presented where attention was paid to cleanliness, visitor comfort and quality.
This was all reinforced by the famous Disney cartoons. (Kemperman 2000) With the success of
Disneyland, there are a growing number of theme parks all over the world. However, because of the
differences in economic distribution, culture development and consumer behavior, the development of
theme park in Asian market has far behind the western countries. Therefore, internationalization is on
the plan. In 2017, China reached the total amount of 1260.01 USD HML in Foreign Direct Investment

Prostate cancer refers to the malignant growth of glandular cells located in the prostate. Under normal
circumstances these cells sit in the glands which are responsible for the production of fluids that make
up most of the semen in males [2]. However once these cells lose their control, what happens is that
they will keep on growing until they become cancerous [2]. Ultimately this means that the natural
surrounding layers that did act like barriers for these cells are now broken and therefore allows the
spread of these malignant cells to other organs within the body, particularly the bones and lymph
nodes [2]. When this does take place the risk of death also increases. At the age of 85, a man is said to
have a 1 in 5 chances of developing prostate cancer sometime in their life. The risk is said to double if
a male has a first degree relative who has been diagnosed with prostate cancer.
Clinical features: Symptoms and signs
Every human body is slightly different in their own way and because of this reason there are people
who do not experience symptoms of prostate cancer [3]. Unfortunately Prostate cancer is a disease
that does not give any warning signs when it is growing. In most cases a male with prostate cancer
does not receive any specific symptoms of concerns; reason is that prostate cancer

The Blind Side Vs. Great Expectations
Classic Novels: The Blind Side vs. Great Expectations
Classic novels are almost abundant in this day and age. One can find them almost anywhere, and the
meanings can impact life in a major way. Although many books hold the honor of being considered a
classic, some stories are on the outskirts, hoping to have the chance to join the ranks. Stories like these
hope to one day join this honorable list. The Blind Side by Michael Lewis is one of those stories. The
characters are relatable, the setting sets the tone of the story, the plot is driven hard throughout the
story, and the overall themes of the story are universal. The Blind Side truly is an all time classic.
According to Merriam Webster Dictionary, three main points categorize a classic. The story must be
considered the best of its kind. In other words, it has to be popular among its literary genre for an
extended period, such as Great Expectations or A Tale of Two Cities in the autobiographical fiction
genre. It has to be an example of excellence. That means it has to be shown to make a change in the
lives of people, such as Grapes of Wrath showing people they can overcome any obstacle thrown in
their way. The story can not only be famous for a year to be considered a classic. It has to be
remembered for years and years to come, such as Old Yeller or The Great Gatsby. In the non fiction
book The Blind Side, a young man, Michael Oher, is living in the poor suburbs of Memphis,
Tennessee, in

The Bluest Eye Motor Mimicry Essay
Toni Morrison s novel the Bluest Eye shows the reader that motor mimicry contributes to a vicious
cycle of women diminishing their self worth. Through the comparison of Pecola and her mother

feeling of an outcast. Paragraph1: what is motor mimicry Developing a sense of identity and self
worth is entangled with how an individual is raised and their acceptance of societal norms. Humans
have an innate sense to interact with others and develop relationships. While observing human
interactions, people begin to mimic motor activity of others they admire. Motor mimicry is described
as adopting another s posture, imitation. This idea of imitation is a key to how individuals interact

  • 2. Socratic Christian Philosophy David Talcott Analysis While reading the article Socratic Christian Philosophy, I have come to the conclusion that Socrates knows much about how to follow a god and how not sway away from his beliefs, but his arrogance and god like personality come in the way of that because at some points it seems as though Socrates believes he is as high as god. David Talcott, the author of this article, even mentions that he believes that Socrates may have a gift which makes him as divine as god. Talcott suggests that Socrates knows a lot about that Christian philosophy before it was even created but I believe how Socrates goes about presenting this information is a problem because he seems too arrogant. For example, in the Apology, Socrates says he believes poets are not wise ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This voice is not a part of Socrates thinking process but rather a voice bestowed onto him by the gods and even if it was a part of his mental process, it is still a gift from a greater power. Talcott also brings up the point that once Socrates receives instructions from god he will follow it through completely like when he went on the mission to prove he was not the wisest of all men as god said he was and he interrogated all of the wise men he could think of until coming up with the conclusion that they are not wise which ended up being one of the reasons he was subjected to death. Socrates obeys god no matter where it leads him and believes that it is better to harm yourself rather than to harm others because when you harm others you are also ruining your soul in the process which is a belief shown in many branches of Christianity. Socrates believing he speaks to a god is problematic because it makes him believe that he is higher than all other beings which ends up with him judging others based on what he believes is wise or not ... • 3. The Cultural Values Of An Organization The Underlying Cultural Values of an Organization Brian C. Satterlee (2014) discuss, Culture is the set of shared attitudes, values goals, and practices that characterized a society, or in the business sense, an organization (p.42). The definition of Cultural values in the Cultural values Business Dictionary (2015) lists, Cultural values are commonly held standards of what is either acceptable, unacceptable or the opposite of both. Also, an organization can be described as a group of people that interact with each other to perform essential functions that help attain goals (Daft, 2013, p. 12). Combine these three underlying concepts combine the cultural values of an organization. The Cultural Values of an Organization The cultural values of an organization are conjoined with the shared attitudes, values goals of an individual or an organization with the same mission and/or business (Satterlee, 2014). Organizations may offer a product or item, but the merchandise is not what necessarily keep the outsider returning. The value an outsider is intrigued with is the symbol, the shared attitude, and value goals offered. As a result, the outsider recognizes the symbols presented, which is comparable to what the insider saw. For example, Steve Jobs is not experienced with the apple product, Steve Jobs is the apple product. The apple product concept was incardinated inside Mr. Jobs and was shared with the world. Subsequently, insiders recognized and accepted the commonly held ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It is important for a company s name to be out there so they can sell things because if people do not know about their brand then they probably would not buy it. Advertisements are used to convince people that their product is worth spending money on. The advertisement I will be exploring is a Tampax Pearl tampon ad I found in an InTouch magazine. The exigence for this ad is that the company feels not enough people are buying this brand of tampons due to the many other brands that sell similar products. Because of this, the purpose of this advertisement is to get more people to buy their tampons over the many other companies. When flipping through the magazine this ad is located in the first thing I noticed was the cliff view overlooking the water. The way it captured my attention was what the marketers meant for it to do. The beautiful scene was a good way for them to get people s attention because of lots of people because it is it a way mesmerizing. Kyle, one of the brothers, ended up pushing her into the spotlight. Standing in the spotlight, Claudette forgot everything she learned and only remembered how to act like her old wild self. This shows that no matter how hard the nuns try to reeducate wild girls to be civilized girls, there will always be a part in them that will remain wild for the rest of their life. Mirabella jumped on her back and started growling at imaginary predators. In her mind, Claudette was grateful for Mirabella s help and thought that she never loved her more than in that moment. This shows that Claudette still is a wild girl in some parts since she admitted that she still loved Mirabella which in a way shows that she still thinks that she belongs to the pack. • 9. Gender And Gender Inequality Long time ago, parents tended to invest on their sons rather than their daughters. In the past, most of boys went to school, and girls stayed home. At that moment, the women were not treated equally because they did not go outside to work. The women only stayed home to take care of children and do housework, so they depended on their husband financially. Nowadays people have still treated one another differently based on group identity, especially when it comes to gender appearances. Gender inequality has been happening around the world, it still occurs at some careers, workplaces, and at home. Culture has a great impact on gender inequality in some developing countries. For instance, Vietnamese people like to have more sons rather than daughters because they believe in raising a daughter is like watering your neighbors garden, and raising a daughter as ploughing someone else s field (Jayachandran, 2014, p. 11). In Vietnam, parents usually invest more on their sons rather than daughters because the sons play a significant role in religious rituals. Jayachandran (2014) reported that sons will carry on the family name or widows wanting to retain family land also make the first son especially valuable (p.14). These changes occurred due to the existence of different point of views. The North did not need slavery and acknowledge the cons of slavery while the South s want for slavery quickly became a need. After the American Revolution, The North slowly started to rid itself of slavery while the South implemented slavery into their daily lives. Slaves existed right from the start of American history and during the American Revolution. The British used the African American slaves to their advantage by granting them freedom in return. In Lord Dunmore s Proclamation of 1775, he stated that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... During this time period, the treatment of slaves improved because they were treated more like humans rather than farm animal. Some slave owners even allowed their slaves to purchase their freedom by working for them for a certain amount of time. Some African American slaves were not as lucky for their masters forbid them to do so (Doc F). As the North finally gets rid of all slave activity, the South becomes more and more dependent on slave labor and more embedded into the system. Both free and enslaved Africans were discriminated against in this time period but responded differently towards their challenges. African Americans found ways to cope with their situation one being religious gatherings (Doc D). They sang old traditional African songs and danced. By doing so, they can forget about life troubles for a moment and give themselves a sense of hope that someday they would by free. Some slaves where more violent than other and began rebellions against their white owners. The use of rebellion was inspired to them by the Bible and that God was pleading for their cause with earnestness and zeal (Doc G). Slaves who caused mischief was relocated deeper south where the treatment and condition was even worse. The Fugitive Slave Law forced the North to send back any slaves who escaped to the North in return for a reward. Slaves who tried to escape to the North were also relocated. • 16. Impact of Martin Luther Luther was a German patriot. He was never a nationalist in the modern sense of the word. Luther was, above all, a pastor, professor of theology and iconic figure of the Protestant Reformation. Luther has been variously identified as an advocate of absolute monarchy, democracy, individual freedom, intellectual repression, nationalism, internationalism, spirituality and secularism. He was a religious figure; his battles were fought over theological issues that may seem to us obscure but whose implications touched every area of life, individual and corporate. Some people consider Luther to be the apostle of absolutism, some later autocrats certainly claimed him as a founding father (Wilson, 2007 p. 19). Hergenhahn (2009) showed ... Erasmus combined vast learning with a fine style, a keen and sometimes sharp humor, moderation, and tolerance. His position on the Reformation was widely denounced, especially by Martin Luther, who had first looked on Erasmus as an ally because of Erasmus attacks on clerical abuse and lay ignorance. Erasmus was finally brought into open conflict with Luther and attacked his position on predestination in On the Freedom of the Will. Then Luther came to understand justification as entirely the work of God. This teaching by Luther was clearly expressed in his 1525 publication On the Bondage of the Will, which was written in response to On Free Will by Desiderius Erasmus (1524) (p. 24). When I arrived on campus for the Eagle Incentive Program it was in the high nighties with some humidity. Moving in wasn t that bad, it was just extremely hot. I was breaking a sweat walking up and down the Southern Pines stairs. The next day was time to say goodbye to my family. After giving my mom a big warm hug and a kiss goodbye, seeing them leave was a weird feeling. As I walked up the stairs to head back in my room the feeling really crossed my mind that I wasn t going to see her again for another five weeks. It was an emotional few seconds saying goodbye, but I knew my mom was proud of my accomplishments that I achieved. Motived to work hard and make her even more of a proud mother; my sad emotions soon turned into happy thoughts. Well, it was not long before my mom was disappointed in me. My first week here I actually got myself in debt and my parents were furious at me. They told me in a serious tone that if that ever happens again, I will have to make myself money. • 19. Advantages And Disadvantages Of Water Fluoridation WATER FLUORIDATION: A high degree of reduction in caries/ tooth decay occur when fluoride content is approximately IPPM (i.e. one part of fluoride to one million part of water), the prevalence of oral fluorosis increase greatly when the concentration of fluoride is more than 1pm. Therefore, the optimal concentration of community fluoridation is 1pm. The very first community water fluoridation was in Grand Rapids in USA in 1945 and these produced a reduction in caries between 40 50% in deciduous teeth while in permanent dentition is 50 60%. Apart from caries reduction, there is also a slower rate of progression of caries lesion less involvement of oral pulp. Many more people have caries free teeth or dentition. It was noticed that these four differences occur and its lifelong protection for the water fluoridation is interrupted the caries protective effect is diminished. Drinking habits are affected by temperature and failure to make adjustment for this many result in increasing incidence in fluorosis in one climate. To achieve maximum protection for both primary and secondary teeth, the consumption of fluoridated water is essential as it acts directly as topical agent as well as systematically during teeth formation. Proximal and surfaces are more protected than pits fissures. ADVANTAGE OF WATER FLUORIDATION (WHO 1984): The major advantage of water fluoridation is that apart from school (students) the entire community benefits adequately irrespective of age, ... Loughton Brook Essay In this Geography GCSE controlled assessment project, I will be focusing on rivers and I have chosen a hypothesis to prove that erosion is making an impact on the Loughton Brook Rivers. My hypothesis is, The river Loughton brook becomes wider and deeper due to erosion as it moves downstream . I will be investigating if erosion takes place downstream in the river. I will investigate if hydraulic action has an impact. I will study about vertical erosion, lateral erosion, Cross profile and hydraulic action. The geography field trip we are going to is called Loughton Brook which is located in Epping Forest. Epping Forest is the hugest public forest in London. It is almost 6000 acres and has an area of about 12 miles. Two thirds of Epping ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In site one there was a high proportion of very unspherical rocks. According to this the hypothesis is right, in site two there is a lot more smother rocks medium sized and in site 3 there are very small pebbles which are very smooth and spherical. The pebbles get smoother and rounder while it goes downstream. Due to us only taking about 10 rocks our result may have been not right as there were some pebbles which were largely over sized. Most of the other load is dissolved by solution such as limestone and chalk Gradient The gradient in site 1 was 0, in site 2 it was 3 and in site 3 was 4. The hypothesis for this was the river gets steeper as you go downwards as the gradient decreases. My measurement is correct based on facts and my theory. Conclusion The results shows us that the hypothesis between the river Loughton brook and the erosion shows that it gets wider and deeper due to many reasons such as vertical erosion, lateral erosion, hydraulic action and abrasion of rocks. Water width and depth increase downstream more erosion through increased water volumes. Velocity increases downstream due to greater energy levels of higher volumes. Gradient decreases due to slower rate of depth increase downstream. Long axis of pebbles decrease downstream, eroded in transportation process. Strengths of methods used i can take ... • 22. Moral Ambiguity in The Stranger Essay Has there ever existed a person that has not judged someone else over their lifetime? Judging by reality as well as literature it seems that no person like that has ever existed. It appears that it is human nature to want to pronounce others as either purely good or evil. But does everyone fit into the mold of good or evil? In Albert Camus s The Stranger, Meursault is a morally ambiguous character, and this ethical indistinctness plays a major part in the novel as a whole and the theme that Camus is trying to portray. Meursault resists being typecast into an archetypal moral category in many of his deeds and actions. Many of his actions in Part One of the novel help contribute to the fuzzy picture of the character. For example, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Abstractly, it almost seems as though the other characters in the book look down on his for this not because he is not mourning, but rather because he is not mourning in the way they are. This sheds light on the overall theme of the novel, that of people being cast out of society because their views and methods do not line up with the accepted ways of society. The same moral ambiguity is also present in Meursault s murder of the Arab and the ensuing trial. As far as absolute morality goes, the murder is without question an act that falls on the evil side of ethics. That point is not a topic for debate, but in the reasons behind it the reader can find even more of Meursault s moral ambiguity. At the time, he does not seem to know why he is doing what he is doing, but it is certainly not out of spite or malice, nor out of any specific hatred of the Arab himself. He could be harboring a grudge on behalf of his friend, which would be understandable, since Raymond is one of the only people we see Meursault truly connect with in the novel, if it can even be called that. He could be taking preemptive action in self defense, especially after he sees the knife glinting in the Arab s hand. In truth, it is never truly revealed what his motive for his rash action was, making it hard again to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

However once these cells lose their control, what happens is that they will keep on growing until they become cancerous [2]. Ultimately this means that the natural surrounding layers that did act like barriers for these cells are now broken and therefore allows the spread of these malignant cells to other organs within the body, particularly the bones and lymph nodes [2]. When this does take place the risk of death also increases. At the age of 85, a man is said to have a 1 in 5 chances of developing prostate cancer sometime in their life.
