How Did Andy Warhol Influence The Pop Art Movement
Andy Warhol was born Andrew Warhol on August 6, 1928, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He was an
American artist who was a main figure in the visual art movement known as pop art. His works
investigate the relationship between imaginative expression, superstar culture, and promoting that
thrived by the 1960s.
After a fruitful career as a business artist, Warhol turned into a famous and here and there disputable
artist. His specialty utilized many sorts of media, including hand drawing, painting, printmaking,

He was the main figure of the Pop Art movement. Such was his effect that he is known as the Pope of
Pop Art. The subject of his works fluctuated from famous American articles to big names to anecdotal
characters to customary subjects like blooms. His artistic creations reformed the impression of art.
Here are 10 of the most celebrated pop art depictions by the pre famous pop artist.
In the 1960s Andy Warhol was connected with the band The Velvet Underground and he turned into
their administrator in 1965. This print of banana highlighted on the front of the presentation collection
of the band, titled The Velvet Underground and Nico. The collection was known as the most prophetic
shake collection ever constructed and positioned thirteenth most prominent collection ever by the
Rolling Stone magazine; and Warhol s Banana got to be distinctly a standout amongst the most
unmistakable bits of pop fine art.
Warhol made a Myths series which contained a progression of silkscreened representations of ten
anecdotal characters taken from pop culture. Every one of the pictures were decorated with jewel tidy
which made them sparkle with delicate, faltering light. Disney s Mickey Mouse was one of the
characters he picked and its prints turned out to be colossally

The Importance Of Education In Hong Kong
A hardworking, entrepreneurial and well educated population of about seven million people serves as
the foundation of Hong Kong s productivity and creativity. Located at the southeastern tip of China,
Hong Kong is ideally positioned at the center of East Asia. Not only is Hong Kong a large city on the
mainland, but its territory extends to include small rural islands and the Kowloon Peninsula. Once a
small port city, Hong Kong is now a world class center for business, finance, and art culture.
Education is a top priority in Hong Kong. The government provides financial assistance where
necessary to guarantee that no student is deprived of education. The government has provided nine
years of free and universal basic education since 1978, which consists of six years of primary
education and three years of junior secondary education. During the 2008 and 2009 school year, free
education was extended and it included senior secondary education. Hong Kong also has twelve
higher education institutions, including seven universities and teacher training institutions, all funded
by the University Grants Committee. The other four institutions are the Open University of Hong
Kong, the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, the Hong Kong Shue Yan University, and Chu
Hai College of Higher Education.
As the average life expectancy in Hong Kong has increased by more than five years in the last decade,
the number of people dying from age related diseases has risen. Medical advances have led

Summary Of Lynching
Lynchings impacted the social hierarchy in the United States as the victims were specifically African
Americans and Mexicans, which left a legacy of discrimination against anyone who was not white.
Contemporary artist, Vincent Valdez, uses his art of photography to make people aware of the targeted
victims of the executions with the goal of creating a systematic change. The system he wishes to
change is the social hierarchy which is the organization of people at different ranks in an
administrative body. Firstly, the social hierarchy in the United States was affected because African
Americans and Mexicans were the sufferers of the hangings. The article, Vincent Valdez s The

This is considered a form of transformational resistance because Valdez is aware of the issue of this
legacy and wants to completely end it. He has the intention of educating those who are still affected
today and want to battle the same fight as their ancestors did many years ago. With the knowledge he
is giving, it is enough to challenge the elite and the white supremacy and if it is a success it can
completely end its legacy of discrimination. To conclude, African Americans and Mexicans were
characteristically targeted in the lynchings which left a legacy of prejudice against non whites and that
eventually shaped the social hierarchy we have today. Vincent Valdez used transformational resistance
to educate people that the issue still exists today and motivate them to fight against the discrimination

Examples Of Extra Sensory Perception
Have you ever felt like you knew what someone was going to say before they said it? Did your dreams
ever come true? Or have you ever had a vision of something and you have witnessed in reality? Most
of us have experienced one or more of these types of events, which is called ExtraSensory perception .
What is ExtraSensory Perception or ESP?
ESP or Extra Sensory Perception is defined as ability of a person to receive or sense information
without the aid of using their five senses see, hear, smell, touch and taste. According to the Journal of
Parapsychology, it is defined as the response to an external event not presented to any known sense.
ESP is also referred to as a sixth sense, gut instinct or hunch.

Concentration: Try to sense and observe each and every thing thats going around you. Be aware of
things happening around you. This way, your concentration level will increase and helps to develop
your ESP.
Vibrations: Keep your self in higher vibrations by thinking always positive and trying to be always
happy. Do whatever you like to make you happy without doing any harm to others. Also avoid
negative talking.
Exercise: There are many exercises to do for developing ESP. For example, you can try to predict the
card by removing one from a deck of cards. Try to guess who is calling you when you hear your phone
ringing, or guessing the person knocking your door, etc. There are many possible ways you can
imagine in your daily life for your practice.
Practice: Practice makes you perfect. Practice different exercises whenever you can. It is better to

Revenge In J. Budziszewski s Prince Hamlet
Revenge is a thing that seems to always be in style. It is constantly being seen in real life, hollywood,
and literature. People are constantly on edge plotting their revenge or debating if they should even do
it. Some people s conscience is formed too pure to take revenge, but in time it can be turned erroneous
due to events and newfound subconscious desires, as in Prince Hamlet s case.
From the moment humans come out of the womb, their conscience begins to form. As John Locke
describe with tabula rasa, the mind is a blank slate and experience fills it in. This means that when
someone is born their conscience is neither good nor bad, but from that moment on, outside factors are
influencing it. Depending on one s upbringing or environment, they are being taught either good
morals or bad ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Budziszewski writes, Once a wrong is done, the next wrong comes more easily. On this view
conscience is mainly a restraint, a resistance, a passive barrier. It doesn t so much drive us on as hold
us back, and when persistently attacked, the restraining wall gets thinner and thinner and finally
disappears. Often this explanation is combined with another: that conscience comes from culture, that
it is built up in us from outside. Many others agree with his view that with time the barrier that shields
from the bad can be broken down if wrongs are constantly being done either by the person or
involving the person. In Hamlet s situation, when his father was murdered he wanted to take revenge
on Claudius, but he could not carry through with it at first due to his conscience being too pure.
However, as time went on the devil in his conscience started taking over the angel in it by all the little
details that happened (the mouse trap, sending off to England, etc.). These events built up to turn his
conscience erroneous enough to allow him to carry through with his need for revenge. Events can take
a toll on you psychologically and socially, but your biology will always remain the

12 Angry Men Analysis 6
In the movie 12 Angry Men all five methods of influence were used. The Methods of influence such
as use of reason, assertiveness, coalition building, higher values, and bargaining were all used by the
jurors; whether it was purposely or subconsciously. The influential methods used by juror number
eight were the most effective for many reasons.
Jurors number three, the messenger service owner, and number ten, the garage owner tried to use the
assertiveness method of influence to get their points across. They were screaming and berating at
multiple points during the film. It was very clear that they were not going to change their minds. As I
was watching the movie, I often wondered how the other jurors are going to get these two men, ...

He often asked for other jurors to explain their point of view and elaborate on why they think that the
kid is guilty. He wanted them to confirm that their decision was not based on individual motives. It
turned out that this method was how Juror s three and ten were influenced to change their votes from
guilty to not guilty. Those two jurors subconsciously had individual motives to why they believed the
boy was guilty. Juror number ten was prejudice against kids and people in general from the slums for
whatever reason. His assertiveness peaked when he went into a rage that caused other jurors to see his
true colors. After this tyrant, it was clear to everyone that he was prejudice. He also realized for
himself that he was subconsciously prejudice and it wasn t a good reason for him to vote guilty. Juror
number three was just upset because he raised a son who he hasn t seen in two years. Apparently, his
son ended up becoming ungrateful to his father and hasn t cared to see the father for at least two years.
So, juror three was taking out the rage and anger that he had for his son out on the boy on trial. He was
the last one to alter his vote from not guilty. All juror number eight did was use the higher value
method of influence and asked the messenger service owner to explain why guilty was the correct
vote. He went into a tyrant rage and realized for himself that he was not voting on personal feelings
and not on the evidence or lack

Impact of the Bourgeoisie on Exploration During the Age of Discovery
Thesis: Most people believe that The Age of Discovery was the product of a handful of adventurous
explorers. They were an important part of this Age, but theirs was not the main motivation. I believe
however, that the Bourgeoisie provided the impetus of this Age.
The Bourgeoisie, a social class most distinct from the rest, remains one of the most influential
economic leaders throughout Europe during the Age of Discovery. Exploration and newfound wealth
drove this class into being so powerful that their presence threatened the Aristocracy and social strata.

Records describe the self made man society, the Bourgeoisie along with Nobility and the Proletariat.
The ancient Bourgeoisie made up the middle section of merchants who carried on commerce. The
presence of the Bourgeoisie is shown by the law code of the Babylonian king, Hammurabi (2067 2925
BC), which has numerous provisions dealing with merchants and the carrying on of commerce (Palm,
8). Egypt prospered and had a really energetic Bourgeoisie. Thebes became the main metropolis; the
main center for trade. Phoenicia rather than Egypt became the top Bourgeoisie State of the ancient
world. The citizens demonstrated progress in domestic manufacturing, ship construction, foreign
colonization, and general commerce. Exchanging and receiving products of the East and West, they
visited most parts of the world.
Increased competition arose by Greece, Arabia, Lyons, and Asia Minor, not to mention Babylon and
Mesopotamia. Phoenicia still tried to keep her status; for the Phoenicians had great knowledge of
navigation and geography. The Greeks tried to destroy Phoenicia s control, acquiring commercial and
industrial interests that quickly changed as trade with foreign lands rapidly expanded. The business
classes were now obtaining great wealth. The Bourgeoisie business class sometimes became so
powerful that occasionally revolted against the Aristocracy within their own city states. To please the

Technical Writing Vs Technical Communication
In today s highly technologically oriented world, people have begun to communicate in innovative
ways, which include, inter alia, telephones, cell telephones, smartphones, handheld electronic devices,
tablets, email, video conferencing, instant messaging or text messaging. With the advent of the
information revolution at the turn of the century, the concept of professional communication has been
repeatedly redefined to accommodate the contemporary trends, methods and changes that
communication in the corporate world has witnessed. Many of the theories in professional
communication are derived from traditional communication, technical writing, rhetorical theory and
ethics. According to Julia Wood (2004), communication is a systemic process in which individuals
interact with and through symbols to create and interpret meanings.
A technical communicator is responsible for writing documents, designing and creating graphics,
designing and creating websites, copyediting other documents, examining documents for usability,
illustrations, and much more. Technical writing is now known as technical communications because a
technical writer does so much more than just write. Technical writing is a specialized form of
exposition: that is, written communication done on the job, especially in fields with specialized
vocabularies, such as science, engineering, technology, and the health sciences. The biggest difference
between technical communication and the other kinds of writing you

Social Media Has Affected The Way Human Interact With Each
Social media has affected the way human interact with each other. Social media is websites and
applications that enable users to create and share content or to participate in social networking, which
involves Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Snapchat. Adolescents use social media to make
relationships that are really interment, but could be dangerous. Most adolescents do not interact with
one another in person as much they use to before social media. Adolescents would rather video chat

Not much attention is being paid to the social content that happens on the Internet. When the social
content finally hit the light, most victims either end up doing some damage to them. Prevent programs
should be more proactive to seize this act. Adolescents will feel more comfortable being able to come
have a conversation with someone to help cope through the bullying. By the cyber bullies getting
punished, this will solve the issues that are occurring. In conclusion, cyber bully must gain more
attention so victims can seem to get a sense of relief.
Teens are meeting friends online who are complete strangers. Many teens connect through online
game and social media and do not meet online. According from the Washington Post by Kang (2015),
6 out of 10 teens say they met at least one friend from the web. Only one third of adolescents end up
meeting each other in person. Meeting someone online sometimes a person may never know who is on
the other side of the screen. Sexual predators prey one teens that engage in the online social networks.
For example, when adolescents are online, some are not attentive of the behavior the other users

sports and clubs. The digital world has taken its place alongside school and friends houses and

Why The Triumph Stag Failure
The Triumph Stag should have been a world beater. After all, with its sharp Michelotti penned lines,
four seater convertible configuration and V8 power, how could it fail? Here was a car that could
transport the whole family with their luggage in top down style. It sounded glorious and there was no
shortage of go either, thanks to that torquey 3.0 litre powerplant. But as we all know, the Stag did fail,
thanks to an array of build quality issues and indifferent dealers who couldn t fix the litany of
problems that invariably cropped up when the Stag was still in its warranty period. But things have
moved on since then. Most Stags have been restored so they re screwed together with far more care
than they were the first time round. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
So you have to buy really carefully as many Stags aren t as good as their owners think. The key is to
find a car that s been properly restored by someone who knows what they re doing, and it ll also have
had some sympathetic modifications to improve usability and reliability. The sorts of improvements
you re looking for include an engine that s been rebuilt and fully balanced, an electric fan (to go with
an overhauled cooling system) plus electronic ignition. Revalved steering for improved feel, ventilated
discs up front and Datsun driveshafts in place of the splined originals are also worth seeking out. What
you really don t want to buy is a Stag with an engine other than the original 3.0 litre V8 converting
from a Triumph straight six, Ford V6 or Rover V8 will cost plenty and there are lots of Stags with an
original powerplant, so there s no reason for buying anything else. Performance and spec Engine

Early Stages Of Dementia Essay
Each person may experience dementia in different ways. Fluctuation of needs and abilities It is not
fully known why somebody with dementia can have good days and bad days . Part of the answer for
this could be because we all have good and bad days. This very much depends on how we are feeling,
how much sleep we have had, what activity we are doing and how much we want to do that activity. If
you do not like doing something, it seems to take forever to get it over and done with. The time drags
and your level of boredom or uninterest rises. On the other hand, when you are doing something you
enjoy, the time rushes by so that before you know it the activity comes to an end. This theory could

effect on our memory. In the early stages of dementia, the person may be fully aware that they have
forgotten where they have put things. This can cause their stress levels to rise, resulting in added
memory difficulties, frustration and confusion. In these earlier stages it is important for you as a care
worker to give the person emotional support. Do not be tempted to take over what they are having
difficulty with. Help them to calm down and think about what they are doing. The more the person
becomes agitated, the greater their difficulties will become. As the condition progresses, the more
support the person will require. This will include support with day to day activities. You can give
support through reminding the person what they need to do. Do not overload them as this will increase
their stress and therefore their symptoms. If the person asks you a question and repeats it several times

My perspective about take ownership of your learning is, I think ownership here is a metaphor refers
to your responsibility towards your learning like if you own it. We all caring about our possessions,

Comparing Greek And Native American Creation Stories
Firstly, I would like to start off with the beginning where Greek creation stories with other creation
stories all started with chaos (nothing). Gaia and Uranus which were created as Mother Earth and the
Sky. Then Erebus was created in the void. In the Chinese creation story, the passage says all was
chaos, and this chaos was shaped like a hen s egg. Inside the egg were Yin and Yang , which were the
two opposing forces of which the universe was made. However the difference is that Gaia and Uranus
went on to give birth to Rhea and Cronus then they went onto giving birth to gods such as Zeus,
Poseidon and so on... There is a little more difference from the Greek creation stories and the Native
American creation stories, in the native American creation stories, the old man Kumish was created
and he would do all the creation himself rather than in the Greek creation stories; other gods creating
separate things. In Serbian creation stories in the beginning there was nothing but God. He slept and
dreamed for ages and he woke up at last at one point. As he woke up, every glance formed a star and
as he travelled the universe was created.
In the Chinese creation story, the world was created when the chaos (which was the shape of a hen s
egg) was rented apart. The elements were created, the heavier ones sank to form earth and the lighter

During the 16th and 17th centuries, when the Europeans started to come over to the new world, they
discovered a society of Indians that was strikingly different to their own. To understand how different,
one must first compare and contrast some of the very important differences between them, such as
how the Europeans considered the Indians to be extremely primitive and basic, while, considering
themselves civilized. The Europeans considered that they were model societies, and they thought that
the Indians society and culture should be changed to be very similar to their own. The Europeans and
the Indians had very contrasting ideas of personal wealth and ownership. The Europeans believed that

This was a very sharp contrast to the Europeans, whom had for centuries, been the top of their social
hierarchy. In Europe, the women had a very relatively primitive, limited role in society. They were not
allowed to attend or partake in political affairs, with very few exceptions. Now, on the other hand, in
Indian society there was a council of chiefs, whom was all male, but they were appointed by an elder
women. Also, during their deliberation over issues, the males made the final decision, but would be
expelled from the council, if they didn t conclude to the same decision that the elder woman came to.
The women s main job in Indian society, was being in charge of cultivation of, harvest of, and
distribution of food. When the men left to go hunting, women were left to run society. The Europeans
simply believed that the males were far superior to the family, which is why women could not have
jobs, and were left to only clean, cook, and various other household chores. Coming from an
economic standpoint, the Europeans and Indians were such total opposites, it often led to
misunderstanding. Indians had very large trading routes well before the time of European
colonization. Their experience in trade only made it easier to exchange goods with the Europeans. For
Indians, trading was a way to acquire goods they wanted, but also a way to share the wealth of their
land with other tribes that didn t have the same items to trade as they did. To the

Research Paper Topic Proposal
From the time California was admitted to the Union through today, the requirements for formal
educators have continuously evolved. Multiple factors have influenced these changes. The economy,
changes in immigrant communities, as well as scientific research on social emotional, physical and
cognitive development of students. Changes in teaching style trends have also been influenced by the
same factors. The success of the education system in California continues to be dependent on the
willingness to meet the changing needs of its population. In order for the state government to insure
that educators are up to the challenge, the factors influencing California teacher ... Show more content

In addition to gaining insight on the evolution of the education system in California, I am looking
forward to learning about today s trends in teaching as well as predictions for the direction we are
headed for the future. With the help of research, I hope to find the specific factors the state use to
determine best practices. Do best practices differ according to the demographics the public school is
serving? How big of a role does each factor play in curriculum and teacher training? I also want to
focus on the current use of Professional Learning Communities and the requirement of Professional
Development. How have these newer practices changed the effectiveness of teaching? In Early
Childhood we have always had to fulfill Professional Development requirements in order to maintain
or upgrade Early Childhood Credential Permits. How new is the requirement for Professional
Development for multi subject teachers in maintaining their credential? Through research for this
paper in addition to tracking the changes in credentialing requirements of educators, I hope to discover
if California has been able to keep up with the ever changing educational needs of our population; or
if the state has had to play catch up at some points in time. Are we alone in the challenges we

Current research attempts to find neurobiological or genetic evidence as possible sources for ASD.
Within the research and medical communities, there are disagreements as to which characteristics
define an individual as having a condition within ASD. For example, the changes within the 4th and
5th editions of the American Psychiatric Association DSM, removes Asperger s Syndrome as a
condition, causing much controversy. It is this controversy about Asperger s Syndrome significance
that this review hopes to elucidate.
Background:
Asperger s syndrome is on the higher functioning spectrum of ASD. Individuals with ASP have
similar social awkwardness as in other ASDs; however they are not as incapacitated. There are 3 main
deficits that must be present in an individual for Autism to be diagnosed. As referenced in Woodbury
Smith and Volkmar 2009 article Asperger Syndrome: absence of cognitive, developmental or language
delay in childhood. However, Asperger s, is characterized by severe social impairments, such as
restrictive and repetitive patterns of behavior, interests and activities [2]
Meanwhile, Autism, as defined by the 5th edition of the DSM is, a persistent deficit in social
communication and social interaction across multiple contexts [1] there are three main deficits an
individual must show in order to be diagnosed with autism. They are: deficits in social emotional

Woyzeck Conventions
By examining what is meant by the concept of theatrical genre , how would you characterize the genre
of Woyzeck?
Today, whenever somebody is asked to think of a typical Tragedy, his or her immediate answer would
be; Hamlet, Othello, Macbeth, possibly even King Lear. This is because these plays constitute what is
conventionally known as a Tragedy. They mostly follow the conventions outlined in Aristotle s
Poetics, and have characteristics recognisable of a Tragedy, for example, the tragic hero being of
upper class or noble background, and the tragic hero s actions leading to inevitable consequences. As
Buchner s Woyzeck does not solely fit into this template, its genre can be deemed as a little confusing.
However, Woyzeck is undoubtedly a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is certainly true of Woyzeck, as Woyzeck himself does all that he can to earn money for Marie
and his child. He bears all the scientific experiments for the love of Marie, facing the humiliations of
the Doctor and the Officer, and because of this the audience regard Woyzeck as a character that is
inherently good. On finding out that Marie has had an affair, Woyzeck s world, meaningful only
through his love, breaks down, and consequently we cannot help but feel immense pity for him, even
though he does kill Marie. The most important element of a tragic drama to Aristotle was the idea of
Catharsis, and so if we are to follow Aristotle s views of tragedy, then because of these incidents
arousing pity and fear in us, then Woyzeck is undoubtedly a Tragedy. There are however some aspects
to Woyzeck that make characterizing it as a tragedy slightly difficult. Traditionally within tragedies the
tragic hero is of noble stature and has greatness, as common people did not interest Aristotle. It is
evident to the audience however, that Woyzeck is from a working class background. In Scene 6 when
Woyzeck is shaving the Officer, Woyzeck repeatedly states that he is poor, Poor, that s what we are.
You see, us common folk,

DSCA Command Relationships during Katrina
SFC Marson, Kellen
Master Leader Course
Class 18 001
Introduction
On August 29th, 2005, Hurrican Katrina, a Category 4 hurricane, made landfall. Katrina left severe
destruction along the Golf Coast and evenutally breached the New Orleans levee system putting the
city under water. The death toll was estimated at 1,245 people and an estimated $105 billion dollars in
damage occured (Knabb 2011). During Katrina, command relationships failed because of political
differences between President Bush and Louisiana Governor, Kathleen Blanco as to who should
command the National Guard, delays at the National Guard Bureau (NGB) in deploying troops and
equipment, and failing to create a unity of effort between National Guard and Active Duty forces.
National Guard
The aftermath of Hurricane Katrina left tens of thousands of people in New Orleans without adequate
water, food, shelter, and physical security. Law enforcement was in disarray as 200 New Orleans
Police officers left their post. The Louisiana National Guard was short on personnel and much of their
equipment was unserviceable due to flooding. Thousands of people needed help and critical
distribution of resources from Defense Support of Civilian Authorities (DSCA) failed.
As New Orleans spiraled out of control, looting and crime were becoming a serious problem. The
Louisiana National Guard focused on rescue missions, rather than keeping Law Order. The public
began to blame President Bush and Louisiana Governor Kathleen Blanco for their poor response to the
recovery efforts.
In a meeting on Airforce One, President Bush tried to convince Governor Blanco to federalize the
National Guard in order to have all forces under one central command. Governor Blanco refused this
offer, believing that Bush s attempt to federalize the Louisiana National Guard was just attempt to
blame her for post Katrina problems (Farazmand, 2014).
While President Bush and Governor Blanco argued over politics, valuable time was being wasted and
innocent people in New Orleans continued to suffer and parish at the hands of it s own federal and
state governments. Across the country, National Guard Soldiers from various

Iran Foxtrot Essay
The Iranian Foxtrot The 2009 Iranian presidential election and its aftermath is characterized by a
strange power dynamic between Ayatollah Khamenei s and the people where Khamenei is constantly
testing their reaction to his dictatorial action, seeing what he can get away with. After choosing the
president with no regard for the votes and levying threats at anyone who protested, Khamanei listened
to what the opposition has to say, allowing them to voice their opinion in many circumstances. This
pattern in Khamenei s action seems to reoccur in the elections aftermath, creating a cycle in which he
carries out an outrageously repressive action, and then is attentive to the people dissent towards it.

During the height of the protests on January 14th, 2010, pro reform professor at Shahid Beheshti
University Javid Etaat s challenged Khamenei directly in a broadcasted debate. He argued that calling
the Green Movement a velvet revolution implied that the regime was admitting to being a dictatorship,
because a velvet revolution by definition characterizes revolts against dictatorships. By issuing this
challenge over the airwaves, Etaat forced the government to either admit people cannot achieve their
goals through the institutions the system offers...and face real revolution, or allow the constitution its
democratic principles to prevail (39). Sure enough, Khamenei stopped calling the protests a velvet
revolution and started calling them fatneh, or troubles. He started treating them as such too. Following
a situation where Khamenei was initially suppressing the voice of the opposition, he ultimately
returned to an attentive role and responded to the people s

The Crucible Personal Response
I really wanted to rate more than 3.5 to this book, but I have to be honest, there were too many WHAT
THE HECK moments for me, in the end I felt really conflicted...
I love a good rocker novel, and when both characters are musicians that really makes me happy. I
thought Abby and Jake s story was sweet and funny. Though I enjoyed it, and it was another page
turner for me, thus I really wish I would ve liked it more. I couldn t get past the fact that Jake might
possibility have some sort of multiple personality disorder, he has that passionate music writer side
that would melt every girls heart, and than he has that egotistical, cruel rocker side. One moment he
would act like the biggest jerk, and than next thing you know he is pouring out of his heart bagging
Abby to forgive her, and telling Abby that he has been waiting for someone like her for all his life. I
felt like it could ve gone smoother, but it was more like a switch, he literary switch from cruel to ...

Soil Analysis Case
Question 1
Low CEC demonstrates that the soil would be a sandy Chromosol
Low pH (4.6), the optimum level between 4.8 and 7.8 (CaCl2). Low because of the white clover
Mg (%) is very high. It can lead to poor drainage which results in compaction and waterlogging
limiting growth
Ca (%) is deficient and low in the soil analysis
S (%) and K (%) are marginal but in soil analysis Sulfate S and K are low, therefore is recommended
to add fertiliser to rise nutrient to optimum levels
Recommended to use lime to rise pH and calcium levels and add gypsum to drive excess Mg off
exchange sites. High Ca lime is recommended.
It is not recommended to use dolomite as it is high in Mg

It is made worse in high pH and high phosphorus soils. Zinc will cause pale leaves because it plays a
part in the chlorophyll function, carbohydrates and starch production which will cause stunting
CEC is high because it is a black vertosol
Mo is slightly high. Mo acts to improve nutrient metabolism in plants so it makes other nutrients like
P more available, which can further reduce the Zn levels
To increase organic carbon as it is low, leaving stubble of previous seasons can increase organic
carbon over time but may increase disease and pest pressures
Recommended to add gypsum to increase S and decrease P which binds P up, although can increase
Ca content which is high, therefore may just need to add S fertiliser
Recommended to foliar apply Zn
Rotating with a legume crop, a leafy crop (eg groundnut) as these pastures has been found to be

Social Security Issue Analysis
Discussion Week #12
Social Security is one of the largest domestic federal programs with the largest source of income for
most retirees, and is relied by the most vulnerable people of society. However, the program is
financially unstable for the upcoming decades to come. Estimates show that Social Security will be to
pay Americans full benefits for the next 20 years, but after 20 years, future generations could be in
trouble, and Social Security will not be able to provide benefits towards the American people.
Specifically, according to a news article by, National Affairs, written by, Andrew Biggs, A New Vision
for Social Security , It is therefore incumbent upon today s policymakers to address Social Security s
fiscal problems and to ensure ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, some suggest that increasing the retirement age will close Social Security s funding gap.
The reason in need to change the retirement age is because Americans over the years have been able to
live longer, which essentially means that Social Security benefits are given to a person much longer as
well. From an article by the AARP commission, or American Association of Retired Persons, written
by, Romina Boccia, and Virgina Reno, Updating Social Security for the 21st Century: 12 Proposals
You Should Know About , ...Americans continue to live longer from one generation to the next,
individuals will, on average, receive Social Security benefits for a longer time. The trend contributes
to Social Security s funding gap... Back in 1935, a 65 year old men ranged to spend approximately 12
years in retirement benefits in contrast in modern times where average 65 year old men can spend up
to 18 years worth of retirement benefits. A scenario of starting in 2023, the retirement age would
increase every two months each year until 68 years old in 2028. By doing so, the funding gap would
close to 16 percent. The earliest age to begin claiming retirement benefits is 62 years old, however,
potentially that number can increase as well. With that said, another way is to gradually raise both
retirement age and early eligibility age. If to begin in 2023 as well, the earliest age to claim full
retirement benefits would increase from the current 62 years old to 65 years old. Unlike increasing the
retirement age, by changing the earliest age to claim Social Security, the funding gap would close 26
percent. Both concepts are to reflect American s longer life spans, and is ideally fair to Americans, and
in addition, improves Social Security s

How The Roman Catholic Church s Stance On Peaceful...
Conversion in Medieval Iberia can invoke ambivalent feelings. Christians originally wanted to convert
Jews and Muslims through kind words and religious teachings from the Bible. This idea, nevertheless,
evolved over the centuries and Christians began converting non believers through violence and
compulsion. Also, even after individuals were converted, Christians did not fully trust their
motivations, and believed they would remiss into their old religions. While Marian miracles did help
alleviate these tensions, a number of vicious acts were committed against Jews and Muslims during
this time period. In this essay, I am going to examine the idea of conversion from the Christian
perspective, and how Christians were able to tempt Jews and Muslims to convert. I am also going to
compare the contradictory nature of converting through peaceful and violent means. This comparison
will showcase how the Roman Catholic Church s stance on peaceful conversion was overcome by
local Christian communities. Conversion is the act of changing one s religion to another religion.
During the twelfth to fifteenth century in Medieval Iberia, a number of Jews and Muslims converted to
Christianity. To Christians, conversions represented the elimination of dangerous enemies and the
ongoing triumph of the new Israel. Christians viewed themselves as the chosen people, as they
believed that Jesus Christ died on the cross to save them, and formed a new covenant, while the Jews
spurned him and

How Did Indian Ocean Trade Dbq
From 600 to 1450 CE, trade thrived through the Indian Ocean trade routes. Large and powerful states
provided security for merchants and travelers, allowing them to follow these routes with ease. While
the spread of goods and ideas along the Indian Ocean trade routes remained constant, the states
controlling them changed, leading to the creation of new states and the addition of European
participation in this network.
At the beginning of this time period, Malay sailors began riding monsoons to go to China and India.
This led to the passing of knowledge to others as well as making connections with various people. The
merchant and traveller s reliance on monsoon winds would remain constant through the period. There

The Religion Of Chin Economic Political And Social Aspects...
From Buddhism to Christianity, China has experienced a wide variety of religions. As of the year

communists rule in china suppresses Christian beliefs. The book The Religion of China states how the
book is set up. It states The three parts into which the book is divided show a clear logical unity in
Weber s argument. In part I, Weber examined the economic political and social aspects of Chinese
society, and presented a mixture of structural or material characteristics, some of which were
favorable, and some unfavorable to the development of capitalism; in other words, comparison of
material conditions yielded no decisive distinction between Chinese and Western societies in terms of
propensity for capitalistic development. In part II, Weber presented a decisive contrast between
Confucian values and the ascetic protestant ethic in the sense that the former lacked the dynamic
motivation which the latter had for capitalistic development. Part III contains Weber s characterization
of Taoism as a system of negative and conservative values incapable of developing a dynamic social
orientation toward capitalism. Weber thus located the decisive differentiating element in the passive

The system he wishes to change is the social hierarchy which is the organization of people at different ranks in an administrative body. • 6. Revenge In J. Budziszewski s Prince Hamlet Revenge is a thing that seems to always be in style. It is constantly being seen in real life, hollywood, and literature. People are constantly on edge plotting their revenge or debating if they should even do it. Some people s conscience is formed too pure to take revenge, but in time it can be turned erroneous due to events and newfound subconscious desires, as in Prince Hamlet s case. From the moment humans come out of the womb, their conscience begins to form. As John Locke describe with tabula rasa, the mind is a blank slate and experience fills it in. This means that when someone is born their conscience is neither good nor bad, but from that moment on, outside factors are influencing it. Depending on one s upbringing or environment, they are being taught either good morals or bad ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Budziszewski writes, Once a wrong is done, the next wrong comes more easily. On this view conscience is mainly a restraint, a resistance, a passive barrier. It doesn t so much drive us on as hold us back, and when persistently attacked, the restraining wall gets thinner and thinner and finally disappears. Often this explanation is combined with another: that conscience comes from culture, that it is built up in us from outside. Many others agree with his view that with time the barrier that shields from the bad can be broken down if wrongs are constantly being done either by the person or involving the person. In Hamlet s situation, when his father was murdered he wanted to take revenge on Claudius, but he could not carry through with it at first due to his conscience being too pure. However, as time went on the devil in his conscience started taking over the angel in it by all the little details that happened (the mouse trap, sending off to England, etc.). These events built up to turn his conscience erroneous enough to allow him to carry through with his need for revenge. Events can take a toll on you psychologically and socially, but your biology will always remain the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Methods of influence such as use of reason, assertiveness, coalition building, higher values, and bargaining were all used by the jurors; whether it was purposely or subconsciously. The influential methods used by juror number eight were the most effective for many reasons. Jurors number three, the messenger service owner, and number ten, the garage owner tried to use the assertiveness method of influence to get their points across. They were screaming and berating at multiple points during the film. It was very clear that they were not going to change their minds. He often asked for other jurors to explain their point of view and elaborate on why they think that the kid is guilty. He wanted them to confirm that their decision was not based on individual motives. It turned out that this method was how Juror s three and ten were influenced to change their votes from guilty to not guilty. Those two jurors subconsciously had individual motives to why they believed the boy was guilty. Juror number ten was prejudice against kids and people in general from the slums for whatever reason. His assertiveness peaked when he went into a rage that caused other jurors to see his true colors. After this tyrant, it was clear to everyone that he was prejudice. He also realized for himself that he was subconsciously prejudice and it wasn t a good reason for him to vote guilty. Juror number three was just upset because he raised a son who he hasn t seen in two years. Apparently, his son ended up becoming ungrateful to his father and hasn t cared to see the father for at least two years. So, juror three was taking out the rage and anger that he had for his son out on the boy on trial. He was the last one to alter his vote from not guilty. All juror number eight did was use the higher value method of influence and asked the messenger service owner to explain why guilty was the correct vote. He went into a tyrant rage and realized for himself that he was not voting on personal feelings and not on the evidence or lack ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. Impact of the Bourgeoisie on Exploration During the Age... Impact of the Bourgeoisie on Exploration During the Age of Discovery Thesis: Most people believe that The Age of Discovery was the product of a handful of adventurous explorers. They were an important part of this Age, but theirs was not the main motivation. I believe however, that the Bourgeoisie provided the impetus of this Age. The Bourgeoisie, a social class most distinct from the rest, remains one of the most influential economic leaders throughout Europe during the Age of Discovery. Exploration and newfound wealth drove this class into being so powerful that their presence threatened the Aristocracy and social strata. Records describe the self made man society, the Bourgeoisie along with Nobility and the Proletariat. The ancient Bourgeoisie made up the middle section of merchants who carried on commerce. The presence of the Bourgeoisie is shown by the law code of the Babylonian king, Hammurabi (2067 2925 BC), which has numerous provisions dealing with merchants and the carrying on of commerce (Palm, 8). Egypt prospered and had a really energetic Bourgeoisie. Thebes became the main metropolis; the main center for trade. Phoenicia rather than Egypt became the top Bourgeoisie State of the ancient world. The citizens demonstrated progress in domestic manufacturing, ship construction, foreign colonization, and general commerce. Exchanging and receiving products of the East and West, they visited most parts of the world. Increased competition arose by Greece, Arabia, Lyons, and Asia Minor, not to mention Babylon and Mesopotamia. • 9. Technical Writing Vs Technical Communication In today s highly technologically oriented world, people have begun to communicate in innovative ways, which include, inter alia, telephones, cell telephones, smartphones, handheld electronic devices, tablets, email, video conferencing, instant messaging or text messaging. With the advent of the information revolution at the turn of the century, the concept of professional communication has been repeatedly redefined to accommodate the contemporary trends, methods and changes that communication in the corporate world has witnessed. Many of the theories in professional communication are derived from traditional communication, technical writing, rhetorical theory and ethics. According to Julia Wood (2004), communication is a systemic process in which individuals interact with and through symbols to create and interpret meanings. A technical communicator is responsible for writing documents, designing and creating graphics, designing and creating websites, copyediting other documents, examining documents for usability, illustrations, and much more. Technical writing is now known as technical communications because a technical writer does so much more than just write. Technical writing is a specialized form of exposition: that is, written communication done on the job, especially in fields with specialized vocabularies, such as science, engineering, technology, and the health sciences. Social Security Issue Analysis Discussion Week #12 Social Security is one of the largest domestic federal programs with the largest source of income for most retirees, and is relied by the most vulnerable people of society. However, the program is financially unstable for the upcoming decades to come. Estimates show that Social Security will be to pay Americans full benefits for the next 20 years, but after 20 years, future generations could be in trouble, and Social Security will not be able to provide benefits towards the American people. The reason in need to change the retirement age is because Americans over the years have been able to live longer, which essentially means that Social Security benefits are given to a person much longer as well. From an article by the AARP commission, or American Association of Retired Persons, written by, Romina Boccia, and Virgina Reno, Updating Social Security for the 21st Century: 12 Proposals You Should Know About , ...Americans continue to live longer from one generation to the next, individuals will, on average, receive Social Security benefits for a longer time. The trend contributes to Social Security s funding gap... Back in 1935, a 65 year old men ranged to spend approximately 12 years in retirement benefits in contrast in modern times where average 65 year old men can spend up to 18 years worth of retirement benefits. A scenario of starting in 2023, the retirement age would increase every two months each year until 68 years old in 2028. By doing so, the funding gap would close to 16 percent. The earliest age to begin claiming retirement benefits is 62 years old, however, potentially that number can increase as well. With that said, another way is to gradually raise both retirement age and early eligibility age. If to begin in 2023 as well, the earliest age to claim full retirement benefits would increase from the current 62 years old to 65 years old. Unlike increasing the retirement age, by changing the earliest age to claim Social Security, the funding gap would close 26 percent. Both concepts are to reflect American s longer life spans, and is ideally fair to Americans, and in addition, improves Social Security s ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It is difficult for me to speak to others in English because I know I have an accent and sometimes stutter when I say words. With my family, it is worse to speak to because I fear on saying something that I would later regret. With my Mexican friends I can talk freely because I know I am safe to say anything. Knowing that I have a difficult time in the present with people; it is difficult to imagine a place where I would travel back in time. A place and time does come up though, January 15 at 5:00 p.m. For my trip, I would wear some black jeans, a white crew neck shirt, a plain black sports sweater, and some leather brown huaraches. I would wear these clothes and the huaraches to blend in. Where I am going is to a small town in Ocumicho, Michoacán, Mexico. Back in the day people only wore huaraches or were barefoot in this small town in Mexico. The people had not heard of or seen shoes yet. • 32. How The Roman Catholic Church s Stance On Peaceful... Conversion in Medieval Iberia can invoke ambivalent feelings. Christians originally wanted to convert Jews and Muslims through kind words and religious teachings from the Bible. This idea, nevertheless, evolved over the centuries and Christians began converting non believers through violence and compulsion. Also, even after individuals were converted, Christians did not fully trust their motivations, and believed they would remiss into their old religions. While Marian miracles did help alleviate these tensions, a number of vicious acts were committed against Jews and Muslims during this time period. In this essay, I am going to examine the idea of conversion from the Christian perspective, and how Christians were able to tempt Jews and Muslims to convert. I am also going to compare the contradictory nature of converting through peaceful and violent means. This comparison will showcase how the Roman Catholic Church s stance on peaceful conversion was overcome by local Christian communities. Conversion is the act of changing one s religion to another religion. During the twelfth to fifteenth century in Medieval Iberia, a number of Jews and Muslims converted to Christianity. To Christians, conversions represented the elimination of dangerous enemies and the ongoing triumph of the new Israel. Christians viewed themselves as the chosen people, as they believed that Jesus Christ died on the cross to save them, and formed a new covenant, while the Jews spurned him and ... Large and powerful states provided security for merchants and travelers, allowing them to follow these routes with ease. • 34. Jeffrey Brodeur The osprey cam viewers were originally slightly distressed about the food situation in the nest because the mother didn t appear to be sharing the food with her offspring as much as the viewers felt was normal. The situation escalated when the mother started attacking her three babies; she was pecking at their heads and eyes while also using her talons to claw them. Over time, the babies became so hungry that they started attacking each other. At one point, a nestling got his talon caught in a balloon strings that was in the nest and was no more vulnerable to the mother s attacks. Jeffrey Brodeur was the person in charge of this webcam for the nest, and the behavior along with the backlash from the viewers led him to consult some osprey experts. People need to be aware of what happens in nature and learn that removing wildlife from their homes is never the answer. People also need to learn that having anthropocentric views can be very harmful. For example, seeing a dog show its teeth at you could be taken as a smile, which would lead to you approach the animal, when it is a fear grimace, which should tell you to stop what you re doing and slowly back away. Although the osprey situation isn t a matter of personal safety, it is still a good opportunity to help spread the word. From what I know about Dr. Chapman, she would provide intelligent and kind words back to those osprey cam viewers who are begging the ospreys to be removed from the wild. She would tell the viewers that she understands their concerns but that removing the ospreys from the wild would be much worse for the nestlings. How To Write A Mockingjay Essay Personally, I don t like to read books because I am not fond with reading and it s time consuming, but reading the Mockingjay improved the bonds between me and books. I didn t realize how interesting a book can be. While I was reading this book, I would think about what was going to happen next in the story or how a problem would affect the story later on. The author put a lot of situational irony in this book which makes this story unpredictable. I even stayed up all night to finish reading the majority of the book. I strongly recommend people who don t like reading books to read the Mockingjay. I guarantee their bonds between books will also improve like mine. You don t need to like any specific topics to read this book but you need to understand that the beginning of the book might be kind of boring but it helps you understand the story better. • 36. The Religion Of Chin Economic Political And Social Aspects... From Buddhism to Christianity, China has experienced a wide variety of religions. As of the year 1964, China has been mainly populated by the religion of Confucianism and also the religion of Taoism. Even though these religions differ greatly from Christianity they thrive in China because the communists rule in china suppresses Christian beliefs. The book The Religion of China states how the book is set up. It states The three parts into which the book is divided show a clear logical unity in Weber s argument. In part I, Weber examined the economic political and social aspects of Chinese society, and presented a mixture of structural or material characteristics, some of which were favorable, and some unfavorable to the development of capitalism; in other words, comparison of material conditions yielded no decisive distinction between Chinese and Western societies in terms of propensity for capitalistic development. In part II, Weber presented a decisive contrast between Confucian values and the ascetic protestant ethic in the sense that the former lacked the dynamic motivation which the latter had for capitalistic development. Part III contains Weber s characterization of Taoism as a system of negative and conservative values incapable of developing a dynamic social orientation toward capitalism. Weber thus located the decisive differentiating element in the passive and traditionalist character in Confucian and Taoist values, explaining why capitalism developed in the ...
