Psychedelic Drug Use Essay
Psychedelic drug use has been present in both traditions and used recreationally for millennia.
Their use can be seen in all corners of the planet by many sects of religions and indigenous
peoples. Reasons for usage vary from religious or medical purposes, hunting, war, and spirituality.
The drug use was viewed with much less of a negative stigma than it is today.
It wasn t until recently that the government cracked down on the use of psychedelic drugs. They
placed many of the drugs into schedules in which the legality of the drug was assigned. Most of
the drugs can be found on the list of schedule one substances. Schedule one drugs are drugs that
have a high potential for abuse, has no currently accepted medical use, and has a lack of accepted
safety under medical supervision. So why is it that these natural substances used for millennia are
just becoming stigmatised and controlled? According to american ethnobotanist, Terence Kemp
McKenna, the patriarchal society that we live in today was caused by the restriction of psychedelic

peace and prosperity. It wasn t until the dominator model arrived that these groups began to

What I Learned From My Coat Of Arms
In my Coat of Arms, I revealed many things about myself. In the first box in the center, I drew
something that I will never give up. In my opinion family and God are the most valuable thing a
person could have and this applies to me. I would never trade God and Family for anything else
because they shaped who I am. Ever since I was born, my parents have been sacrificing their own
interests for mine. They provided me with everything that I need and some things that I want. They
decided to invest in my future by letting me go to SM when instead, I could attend a public High
School. In my picture, I drew my family with my parents and my sister. I put a Circle around my
family symbolizing God watching over us. The colorI used for this box and many other boxes is
blue because it s one of my favorite colors and it s not invasive enough to cover up my message.
In my second box, I drew something that I think represents an important lesson I learned from
people. Before this school year, I didn t really pay attention to the balance with things and people. I
usually focused on the result that I want to achieve but not the process with other people. After
meeting kids from all around the world in a summer camp, I found out that balance with others is
more important than the result. Through the friend I met, I learned the importance of keeping a
balance with people around you. I think a Yin Yang best symbolizes the lesson I learned showing
the seeking of balance and moderation. As

Effective Leaders Produce Successful Results
Leadership is found in a variety of aspects of life, work, and sports. Few will argue that effective
leaders produce successful results. Many more will agree that successful leadership is not always
determined by the financial bottom line in business or by win percentage in sports. Leadership in
both business and in coaching requires and often exudes a common set of skills, goals, desires, and
strategies that are common in both arenas. Leaders in all walks of life, to include commercial real
estate and collegiate administration, find common ground when tasked with inspiring subordinates
and helping them to realize their potential in an effort to obtain optimum results. Formally, Merriam
Webster (2014) defines leadershipas, the power or ability to lead other people (para. 1). Truly,
leadership requires ability; the ability to motivate, instruct, and guide subordinates is
paramount. Those who have the charisma to be leaders but lack the expertise to direct
subordinates and show how the work is done, on whatever level, will not be able to properly
facilitate change. Moreover, the lack of effective leadership or the implementation of ineffective
false leadership may cause more harm than good within a business setting or team. Leadership in
sport is referred to often but can never be overstated. Having the ability to teach and to motivate
is necessary either when leading as a coach or as a player. Leaders take responsibility for what is
taught and rely on personal

Corporate Social Responsibility Strategy for Bank of America
Organizational Background Bank of America is a multinational banking and financial services
firm that has become a mega giant the second largest holding company in the U.S. and the 3 4th
largest bank in terms of overall capitalization. The headquarters are in Charlotte, North Carolina,
with the bank servicing clients in over 150 countries and some type of business relationship with

lists BofA as the 3rd largest company in the world, holding about 13 per cent of all U.S. deposits
and 57 million customers (Bankof American, 2011; The Global 2000; Fortune 500).
Background to CSR In this environment, the impact of behaviour, values and ethics on achieving a
company s strategic vision represents a timely and valuable undertaking. This behaviour, often
called Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is a new focus on ethical and social issues (Sen
Bhattacharya 2001). CSR leads marketers to the notion of both global and stakeholder
responsibility, and an organizational system that begs for sustainability not just to outlast the
competition, but to increase customer loyalty, presence in the global market, and a stronger
unification with the political bureaucracies. There is a clear integrative framework involved that
impacts the idea of sustainable marketing concepts (Maignan Ferrell 2004). Indeed, at the same
time, culture has changed, too; there is likely not a country in the

Social workers hold themselves to high standards because they have a lot of responsibilities
toward their clients and the agency they work for. A social worker must be aware of services that
their agency provides and what they do not. They then must be aware of other agencies or
programs they can connect their clients to if they need extra services. Finally a social worker must
know their client to be able to help them to their fullest extent.

Analysis Of Disney Films Mulan And Aladdin
Starting its production of films in the early 20th century, Disney has become a very popular
company targeting an audience of children and adults. By the 21st century, its films has gone
through many changes according to trends during those periods of time, especially with
relationships between males and females. Men has always been prominent compared to the
women in the movies. Women were displayed to be very dependent on male characters to come
rescue them, no signs of independency are apparent until recent contemporary films. In the movies
Mulan and Aladdin, the women were more free spirited and less dependent on men. In this case,
Disney films begins to break that barrier of genderroles within a relationship as a couple, changing
the view of gender expectations similar to this day. Around the early 20th century, women never
gained freedom or rights like how it is today. Expected to stay home, manage the house, please
their husband, and depend on the men to bring or come home with their needs. Kathi Maio , a

Pets Are Prone At Superficial Skin Injuries
Pets are prone to superficial skin injuries and most owners will encounter a situation at some point
in time involving a cat, dog or other pet that s sustained a wound. Unfortunately, many dog and cat
owners do not know how to properly clean and disinfect a wound or the owner will assume that
the injury will heal on its own, leading to a complete lack of wound care. And too often, a situation
with a wounded dogor cat will end in the veterinarian s office with a pet who s experiencing a
great deal of pain and discomfort from the cut, gash or sore. It s important that pet owners
understand how to perform basic first aid on their animals. It s part of responsible animal
ownership. You wouldn t ignore a wound on your child, so a dog or cat s wound should be
tended to as well, explained Dr. Michael Levine, DVM. If an injury is not treated properly,
infection will result. Signs of infection include pain, swelling and redness, In cases where an
infection has been left to fester and spread unchecked, the pet may need to go under anesthesia for
a complete cleaning of the wound site and removal of tissue that s been damaged by the infection.
In severe cases, the infection can spread from the skin s surface, down into the deep tissues of the
muscle and even to the bone. If the infection encounters the circulatory system, the infection can
turn systemic, resulting in an often deadly condition known as sepsis. To avoid infection, all cuts,

Summer Concert Report
Being in the Youth Orchestras of Fresno for the past 5 years, I have had the pleasure of working
on some of the most incredible pieces in orchestra literature. I ve been a part of some special
concerts, like performing Stravinsky s Rite of Spring, Bernstein s On the Waterfront, Symphony
No. 12 by Shostakovich, Short Ride in a Fast Machine by Adams, and Mussorgsky s Pictures at an
Exhibition, but there is one piece in particular that has made a huge impact on me and many people

It made me realize that this drought has had a huge impact, and how a lot of people in California
aren t really taking this situation very seriously. After the premiere in Fresno, and performing
Water(less) Music again at the Walt Disney Concert Hall the following summer, I started to
become more aware of the amount of water that my family and I have been using. I never
imagined that my actions, such as allowing water to run while brushing my teeth or having the
sprinklers on too long, could cause hardship for people in the Central Valley. Since the Central
Valley is an agriculture based economy, the drought has caused many people a loss in crops,
income, and even jobs. It actually affected my family directly. My grandfather is a raisin farmer
and has experienced a decrease in the size of his crop over the last five years.
The word drought can have different meanings to different people, depending on how a shortage
of water affects them. I will always remember how performing this piece impacted my
understanding of the drought. As I look into the next few years of my life, and consider the
possibility of moving out of California for college, I will always remember to conserve water no
matter where I live. The experience of premiering Water(less) Music gave me a deeper appreciation
for the importance of water that I once

A New Form Of Ignorance
Of all the effects and product development, ignorance is one of the most pervasive. Often the

The Impact Of Education In The Middle Ages
During the time of the Middle Ages, life as a citizen saw little to no change. With the feudal
system in place, people were born into different social classes like Lords, Knights, and Serfs.
However, it was extremely difficult, if not impossible, to move up in one s class. Once someone
was born into a specific role in society, people believed that it was his or her fate to remain in that
class. Also, society was not progressing. One example of this can be seen in the Black Death.
This Black Death, or, Bubonic Plague, killed off nearly one third of the entire population.
Civilians were stunned, and did not know why this event occurred, or how to solve the problem.
Nobody could figure out how to stop the disease, because no medical advancements were taking
place, and people were uneducated. Education in the Middle Ages was not available to everyone,
so many people were illiterate, causing society s growth to pause. It became clear that people
needed to change their mindset in order for their lives to be better. This change came in the
Renaissancetime period, where a significant growth in many areas of life occurred. The positive
growth was so impactful that P.J. O Rourke, an American political journalist once said, Not much
was really invented during the Renaissance, if you don t count modern civilization. People today
look back on the Renaissance, and embrace how it is considered as a rebirth period. The
Renaissance was a turning point for intellectual

Theories Of Anti Arab And Anti-Islamic Hate Crime
Theories of Anti Arab and Anti Islamic Hate Crime
Before and After 9/11
The terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001 were a triggering event for spikes of anti Arab and
anti Muslim hate crime in weeks following the events and were so profound that rates of anti
Arab/Islamic hate crime never returned to their pre 9/11 numbers. The media played a large role
in the weeks following 9/11 where Arab Americans and Muslims were demonized and profiled as
disloyal, anti American terrorists, perhaps contributing to the rise in incidents of these types of
hate crimes. In the following months, Arab and Muslim began to be used interchangeably and
became synonymous with terrorist and jihadist. Well over a decade later, these stereotypes remain
and new incidents of tragedies are often first assumed to be the work of Islamic terrorist groups.
These stereotypes are damaging and may be related to why anti Arab/Islamic hate crime have not
returned to the rates before 9/11.
Choosing Between UCR and NCVS for Accurate Hate Crime Reporting

from the FBI s Uniform Crime Reports, which includes information on hate crimes after the
passage of the Hate Crime Statistics Act of 1990 (Riedel Welsh, 2016, p. 136). I favored the UCR
research over that which used the National Crime Victimization Survey because the NCVS
estimates of the number of hate crimes is based on victim perceptions of whether a

After the motor car was invented the world thought they could do just about anything. Men had

brothers approached the governments of England, France, Germany, Russia, and the United States
War Department. After a few private sales, the War Department commissioned a plane in 1907.
With this purchase, the Brothers opened up a school to teach pilots about the airplane. The first
of these schools was established in Montgomery, Alabama on March151910. After receiving the
schooling, these pilots were then able to instruct future pilots. In 1909, the French government
also bought a plane with the condition that could have one that could carry a passenger. The
brothers quickly went to work and added an additional seat and increased the power of the motor.
Aviation was beginning to take flight! Flight has expanded the world s horizon. Through flight

A Short Note On The And Its Effects On The World s Mini...
I began popping pills when I was thirteen. Anything and everything I could get my hands on. My
friends and I would meet before school, taking various containers out of our bags. Mine was a
Wrigley s Doublemint Gum tin. We would open them up, displaying pills of various shapes,
colors, and sizes. We had our own mini pharmacy with it s own barter system of sorts. A few anti
depressants for an Adderall, or a muscle relaxer for a Klonopin. Half of them we didn t even know
what they were. We all could get different stuff, so together we had a rainbow of pharmaceuticals.
My favorite however, was Effexor. My grandmother had them for depression associated with
bipolar disorder, but she never took them. It was easy to swipe the bottle. The pills were these
bright orange capsules, with little white beads inside. It felt like a maraca as they slid down my
throat. Over time, taking one, became taking four at a time. After taking them I would experience
severe stomach cramps, nausea, dizziness, and migraines. My friends were popping pills for fun,
but I was taking them to suffer. I wanted so badly to forget about the emotional pain I was going
through, I wanted to feel physically how I felt mentally everyday. If I hurt, that s all I could
focus on, everything else disappeared. All the self doubt and self hate vanished. I just wanted a

that although students are not aware of the consequences of ear splitting music many students are

Character Analysis Of Linda Loman In Death Of A Salesman
One of the main characters in the play, Death of a Salesman, is Linda Loman. Linda Loman
faces many difficulties in this play, one of which is being part an affair she was unaware of. In
the play, there are many sides to one story, and there are many stories with many sides. Death of a
Salesman can be portrayed in an array of ways, depending on the form of literary criticism used.
Linda Loman is the mother of Biff and Happy. Her husband is Willy Loman. Her character is
viewed as the protagonist. The true colors of Mrs. Loman come out as the play progresses. The
characteristics of the pathological dynamics of the Loman family (Cohen) are also played out.
Her son, Biff sees her as a strong woman. Biff doesn t think Linda needs Willy in her life. Biff
thinks Willy holds the family back. He s got no character Charley wouldn t do this. Not in his own
house spewing out that vomit from his mind (Miller 38). Woman are thought to be dependent on
men. The way Biff, her oldest son, views her is different than society views her.
Happy sees Linda as a sweet woman who thrives. He thinks she can do no wrong. Happy views
her as the perfect housewife. He thinks she can do anything for him and that if he wants
something, she ll make it happen. Hey, what re you doing up? Where s Pop? Is he sleeping? We

Freud s Worst Nightmare Perfect Sex Dream
In her article, author Barbra Creed discusses a wide range of theories and assumptions on Freud
and his relation to modern cinema, memories, and the development of the original horror film. She
begins by describing Freud and his obsession with horror. She briefly mentions some of his case
histories that entail themes of sexual abuse, hysteria, bestiality, phobias, and perversity, but
primarily continues to inform us of his hatred of cinema. Considering Freud was born in 1856, he
was just reaching his mid 50 s when early cinema really took off. Films and movies became the
forefront of entertainment, the must see attraction by audiences across the country, and the newest
daring art form. This was, however, an art form that Sir Sigmund Freud wanted nothing to do with.
Despite having several films be inspired by his theories and writings, Freud refused to become
involved with films and filmmaking, and even avoided being captured on camera in his daughter s
home videos. The reason for this hatred however, is neglected and left questionable by Creed.
The author points out that early cinema was known for stretching the boundaries on narrative
filmmaking by incorporating elements of sex, desire, and eroticism, which were, of course, main
focuses of Freud s countless writings. She continues her analysis by efficiently describing the
modern self and the divided self: two

Forest Gump
Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you re gonna get. Forrest Gump is the
portrayal of a man that has been alienated from society, not because he is unintelligent or dimwitted,
but rather because he is not restricted by the conventional ideals which are embedded within his
culture; thus, challenging the conformities and principals that most people are accustomed to. The
contrast that Robert Zemeckis, director of the film, is attempting to convey through the character of
Forrest Gumpis how most people are too smart for there own good; and thus, try to escape the

Society is more pleased living under the suppressions and misrepresentations of our culture, as
opposed to coping with the truth and what comes along with it. Forest Gump is a person that
many would label a contemporary holy fool which means that he possesses an extreme innocence
that enables him to do great things. His mental incapabilities have their obvious disadvantages, but
what is more worthy of discussion are the, not so obvious, advantages. His idealistic and
optimistic view of the world and his innocence blind him to the evil in people, and consequently;
he is able to find the best in each person he encounters. Robert Zemeckis directed the film in such a
way to emphasize the notion that simple is better which ties with his main theme of destiny.
Zemeckis also implies, through large contradictions in Gump s personality, that Gump s character is
an impossibility in real life.
Gump is able to surmount all of society s restrictions. Even when he was a little boy people were
trying to straighten him out with leg braces, but sure enough, he broke out of those. This pivotal
moment in the movie marks the beginning of an absolutely great and optimistic lifestyle. However,
Gump is not completely void of restrictions. He respects authority because of his mother, whom he
adored and loved very much. A little later in his life, Gump joined the army

Essay on Japanese Economic Developent Post World War II
World War II left many powerful nations in smoke and rubble. The deconstruction of many
countries gave them the chance to rebuild their cities and economies. No country took more
advantage of this opportunity than Japan. Japan was a huge militaristic power in World War
II . Their aggressive behavior caused them to be stripped of their military and their power for self
rule. The demilitarization of Japan changed the country s focus from world militaristic domination
to world economic domination. The country established free trade, manufactured goods, and
improved and invented technology, making themselves one of the largest economic superpowers in
the world.

That day 73,000 of 365,000 died in the city of Hiroshima (Samurai and Swastika). Three days
after Hiroshima the U.S. dropped a second atomic bomb over Japan. This time the bomb dropped
on the city of Nagasaki. The bomb killed 37,500 instantly; the radiation later killed more. The two
bombs devastated Japan.
The nation of Japan was torn between wanting to continue the war and wanting to surrender. The
Japanese government finally agreed to the surrender terms from the United States.
The Japanese Emperor urged the Japanese to lay down their weapons. They surrendered to
General Douglas MacArthur of the United States on September 2, 1945. The surrender took place

The Industrial Revolution In America
Industrial Revolution in America
The industrial revolution in America took place in the nineteenth and twentieth century. During this
period there was mass production, modern technologies were made, people were getting rich and
this made America to be the global superpower in the world. The united states economy grew fast.
America became so rich that mark twain called it the Gilded Age
Although there Britain was the first to have access to the industrial revolution in the 17th and 18th
century, my focus will be on the American industrial revolution. Industrial revolution came into
existence after the end of the civil war. During the revolution transportation, electricity, and
industrial building came into existence and became very popular and made very significant changes
in the nation.
Transportations like the railroad which was linked to different communities and states was built,
steamboats, the Eerie canal, and road were also built. Although railroad was in existence during
the start of the civil war it became more popular after the end of the civil war.
During the 1860s, the Central Pacific Railroad started building rail track from Sacramento,
California. While the Union Pacific started laying tracks from Nebraska. In 1869, this made both
tracks to meet at a place in Utah, this enabled the united states to travel by train from the Atlantic
Ocean to the Pacific Ocean. The development of Railroad continued all through the 1800s with rail

Project A: The elemental exploration of the behavior of iron in physiological conditions, the
acquisition of solid copper from a salt and salt solution, and the synthesis and crystallization of

Introduction: Iron is an essential element in the human body. It can be found in the hemoglobin
and transferrin of the bloodstream, and in myoglobin in muscle tissue. The main purpose of iron
is to transfer oxygen within the body. To gain iron, humans must consume a diet that consist
abundantly of iron such as leaf vegetables, fish, beans, etc. Absorption of iron is especially
important because less than 15% of iron in daily diets are absorbed and used (Jacobs 1971). The

Because synthesis requires multiple steps to make a desired reaction, the yield is lower than other
synthesis. On the first day, if the substances have a significant amount of precipitate, then the
substance will require a greater number of drops of sodium hydroxide than substances with an
insignificant amount of substrate. On the second day, if the starting reactants affect the yield of the

Materials/Methods:
Project A, Day 1
In Part 1, 50 milliliters of 5% sodium hydroxide solution was obtained and observed in a 100 mL
beaker and 30 milliliters of pH 2 dissolved iron solution was also obtained and observed in a 50 mL
beaker. To observe the behavior of dissolved iron with sodium hydroxide, 5 milliliters of pH 2
dissolved iron was transferred to a large test tube. Drops of 5% solution of sodium hydroxide
were slowly added and monitored for physical changes. A glass stir rod was used to transfer a
small amount of solution onto pH paper in between drops of 5% solution of sodium hydroxide
until the solution had a pH of 8.
In Part II, 5 milliliters of dissolved iron was placed in a large test tube. To test the effect of

Some Keep The Sabbath Going To Church
Getting to Heaven
Some keep the Sabbath going to Church 236
In the poem Some keep the Sabbath going to Church, the theme is that there is more than one way
to get to Heaven(1, 1668). The persona suggests that this is true because they still have a
relationship with God; they just worship differently than what is accepted by society. In the line
that reads, And an Orchard, for a dome, Dickinson uses imagery to paint a picture for the reader(4,
1668). The image is an orchard of trees that provides her with a safe place for worship instead of the
traditional church sanctuary. She is suggesting that nature, the things unspoiled by humankind, is
whatone really needs for worship and gaining a relationship with God. The practices that many
religions believe have to be performed are unnecessary because God is with you all the time and
not just when you are in church. It is just as ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the first line of the last stanza she writes God preaches, a noted Clergyman (9, 1668). This is
inferring that she gets her spiritual food directly from God; there is no need for a middle man.
There is a practice used by a well known religion that a person needs to confess their sins to their
priest in order to be forgiven of them and made new. This is another way that a middle man is
used in religious practices. The Bible reads no one comes to the Father except through me (John
14:6). Dickinson is going by the words of the Bible instead of the words of mankind. The final
two lines of the poem read So instead of getting to Heaven, at last I m going, all along (11, 1668).
The connotation of these words relay to the reader that along with all the church goers she, the
one who exercises her own, individual beliefs and practices, will be right there with them going
to Heaven. It s almost as if she is obnoxiously poking at the religious people of her time proving
that you don t have to always do things a specific

The Coping Process Throughout my entire life I have been dealing with stress even when I have
tried to avoid it. Stress always manages to find it s way to you, and you either can ignore what is
causing you stress, or find a method to deal with your stressor head on.
When I was younger, about thirteen or so my parents got divorced. I didn t know how to accept
the fact that my parents would no longer be living under the same roof, and no one made a huge
deal about this inside the family. Was I just supposed to act like this is a normal part of life?

Stress is an ongoing problem that happens in everyone s life. Stress is a simple term used by
many people, most of the time it is misunderstood or used to describe a condition of a person. It
is a known factor that stressors play a large part of everyone s daily living, many people learn to
either manage stress or have been placed on some type of medication to help control it. In the
world today, there are so many causes and effects of stress but only a few different ways to help
manage and maintain a healthy lifestyle. The effects of stress is directly linked to coping. The
study of coping has evolved to surround a large variety of training beginning with all areas of
psychology such as health psychology and environmental psychology. Coping strategies can be
broken up into three large components, (physiological, cognitive, and learned.) The cognitive
approach to coping is based on a mental process of how the individual values the situation. Where
the level of judgement determines the level of stress and the unique coping strategies that the
individual decides to use. In physiological it is inside the body and what goes on behind closed
doors. The body has its own way of coping with stress. Any threat or challenge that an individual
perceives in the environment triggers a chain of events. The learned component of coping includes

usage for penile oral contact (Grudzen, et al. 2009). These statistics suggest that condom usage
among male homosexuals is more socially acceptable because of the higher prevalence of HIV in
that community. The low usage of condoms in heterosexual films also suggests that OSHA

air pollutant and the main reason for it is because its economy has grown substantially in the last 30
years. Worldwide, there are twenty cities with the highest, worst air pollution, sixteen of those cities
are within China alone. The main causes of Beijing s air pollutioncan be pointed to several factors.
Large economical growth, an increase in vehicles on the roads, growth in population, and
manufacturing. China has also experienced major economic growth with a large rise in Gross
Domestic Product. This increase can be connected with pollution. Vehicles are just one contributor
to pollution which we will discuss later in this paper. The population growth in Beijing contributes
to a big portion of its pollution. The population has risen from 11 million to 16 million in just 7
years, and has nearly doubled over the past century. Factories that utilize coal burning contribute to
the smogcurrently present in Beijing. Many of these factories depend on outdated and inefficient
technology which emits air pollutants. Beijing is a victim of its own topography since it s
surrounded by mountains which traps pollution within the city. Air quality worsens in the spring
and summer seasons when the humidity and temperature levels increase. Air pollution has been so
drastic to the point that the city often engulfs in smog making it near zero visibility which in turn
causing road

Architecture Of The Renaissance Period
The Renaissance period was a time filled with new ideas and developments that changed European
society. Many cultural and scientific advances were made during this period, especially in
architecture and medicine. As Arthur Ericsson states the period was studded by the names of
architects such as Filippo Brunelleschi and Donato Bramante, whose creations are recorded as great
historical events. The Renaissanceperiod is also well known for the new scientific discoveries made
through the examination of the human body. The European society changed greatly during the
Renaissance period due to the many cultural and scientific advances made particularly in
architecture and medicine.
The architecture of the Renaissance period replaced the medieval gothic style with a style
representing the rebirth of classical civilization. One of the famous architects in the early
Renaissance was Filippo Brunelleschi. Through looking at the old Roman and Greek architecture,
he was able to bring back the old traditional buildings and arches, but in a more effective and
proportional way. In the early Renaissance, the Florentines fathers created a competition for the
ideal dome design. Many architects came from all around Europe to showcase their designs.
Brunelleschi had won for his amazing yet risky plan. He designed the dome with two concentric
shells. The inner shell facing the inside of the cathedral, and the outer shell would be a large dome.
He bound the walls with tension rings of

The Death Of Terminally Ill
As Americans, we are granted rights in this country and these rights, according to the Declaration
of Independence, grant us Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness . So tell me why someone
that is terminally ill cannot use these rights to end their life of pain and suffering. Some states
have rallied and given those who are terminally ill the right to die. However, some simply see this
means of ending a life, inhumane, unethical, immoral, and just plain wrong. As a citizen of the
United States where we simply have our rights, should we not be granted the right to die? A big
controversy on the news in the United States is having the right to die. People see this as something
wrong due to various cultural and religious beliefs. This means of having the right to die is simply
termed assisted suicide or human euthanasia. Only a few states have legalized assisted suicide by
means of the Deathwith Dignity Act. The four states that assisted suicide is legal in is: California,
Oregon, Vermont, and Washington. However, in order to take act in assisted suicide there are
terms and conditions by each state that must be met. A little history into the practice of euthanasia,
which started with the ancient Greeks, and is now something legal into few states today.
According to Hosseini (2012), euthanasia is actually a Greek word that literally means happy

Controversial PSA test
In 1994, prostate specific antigen (PSA) was officially approved for PCa screening by the FDA,
and 4.0 ng/ml was set as the upper limit of normal range. Following its prevalent use, PSA became
the most frequent method of detecting PCa and has resulted in a considerable stage migration.
However, considerable controversy remains about PSA screening, due to questions regarding
survival benefit, cost effectiveness, and clinical factors such as the optimal age and total PSA at
which to recommend biopsy
[5], also increase in the levels of PSA is not as specific as it is sensitive for diagnosis. A rise in the
PSA level can reflect the presence of cancerous cells, but can also be related to nonmalignant

Prognostic biomarkers predict the natural course of the cancer to distinguish the tumor s outcome.
They also help determine whom to treat, how aggressively to treat, which candidates will likely
respond to a given drug, and the most effective dose. Predictive biomarkers evaluate the probable
benefit of a particular treatment. Pharmacodynamic biomarkers assess the imminent treatment
effects of a drug on a tumor and can possibly determine the proper dosage in the early stages of
clinical development of a new anticancer drug [11].
Identification of disease specific molecular biomarkers is a rational approach to addressing current
clinical challenges of whom to biopsy, whom to offer certain interventional therapies, in whom to
alter therapeutic strategies, and in whom to follow up treatment outcome [12, 13].
With recent advances in biotechnology, many potential blood biomarkers have been identified and
are currently under investigation. In this review, we will discuss and list some of the biomarkers
that have a substantial amount of supportive data to be beneficial biologically and clinically, and
other potential candidates are still under investigation.

Essay on Bio Warfare
Biological warfare is war waged with deadly chemicals, biological agents, or radioactive
materials (CBR). They can be used to kill large amounts of people, destroy food, or just
temporarily stun them for a matter of time so troops can come in and torture them or do whatever
troops led by an manipulative tyrant who destroys everything. Using CBR, allowed you to kill
everything and leave the buildings standing instead of nuclear weapons which destroy everything,
put fallout in the air, and have radioactivematerials wash into the ground and streams. Using deadly
chemicalsin war has been going on since the early 1900 s during World War I (1914 1918).

The Hague Conference of 1899 made an attempt to outlaw projectiles carrying poison gases; the
agreement to this effect lasted only until W.W.I. In Geneva in 1925 a League of Nations
protocol against chemical and biological war was signed; it was not, however, ratified by the
United States until 1975. The treaty outlaws the first use of such weapons in warfare, but nations
generally reserve the right to use them in retaliation. Agreements totally banning chemical
warfare have proved difficult to achieve. A treaty totally banning biological warfare was drawn
up by the Geneva Disarmament Conference in 1971 and approved by the United Nations General
Assembly. Some 80 nations signed the Biological Weapons Convention, which the United States
ratified in 1974. This treaty is unique because it outlaws a whole class of weapons by most of the
world. Its effectiveness, however, is still questionable; progress in genetic engineering has also
complicated this issue. At the Bush Gorbachev summit in June 1990, a treaty was signed providing
for both the United States and USSR to reduce stockpiles of chemical weapons. In May 1991, 19
industrial nations including the United States commited to adopt controls on the export of 50
common chemicals used to manufacture these weapons. Anthrax is a contagious disease of warm

Essay On Health Care Fraud
Health care fraud comes from many aspects. Fraud comes from some type of abuse to the
system. Such abuse can come from billers, providers and or patients. Abuse of the system can
turn into fraud. Because the fraud can come from many angles, it makes it really difficult for
regulatory agencies to detect and protect against abuse and fraud. However, many changes to the
system and the collaboration of regulations by many agencies have made a difference. Health
care fraud is a crime that over time has had a significant impact on public and private health care
payment system (Kongstvedt, 2013). Making a difference for this topic can have a significant
impact on health care in general. Health care fraud takes a lot of means from the system,
therefore affecting its goals. Not only does it distract the system from its objective, it also affects
the financial status of the government. It takes a lot of effort to control fraud, economic effort that
can otherwise be use in other struggles. Because this industry is one that grows with popularity, it
is very difficult for only one organization to control or manage abuse or fraud. Popularity in this
field brings great financial gains by those who choose to cheat or abuse the system. Above all, one
must continue to make efforts to fight back and to control the losses caused by fraud. In order to
continue these efforts, one must first understand how much is lost by these criminal acts.
Therefore, this paper will focus on one

For years sexual discrimination has plagued women in both the public and private spheres, and
has not allowed sufficient growth for women to reach the same equal level as men. The fight for
equality amongst the sexes has been an ongoing battle for decades, and there are people who say
sufficient progress has been made for women and that no other implementations must be made or
that digression should take place, while there are many activists who continue to push for more of

On these days, it is no surprise to be the only one in the park apart from the random groups of
people passing by or an individual playing with his/her dog in the lush green grass. Even though
there are several areas of grass around the park, the most immense section is located in the center of
everything. This area is incredibly emphasized because of how everything revolves around it; if
anyone was to sit right in the middle of it, he/she would be engulfed by the relaxing atmosphere.
Sitting there would permit anyone to see buildings a hundred times his/her size in any direction he
/she would turn. For instance, someone can see the well known AT T skyscraper, also known as the
Batman Building, which is more than thirty stories tall. At the bottom section of grass, there are
two art structures; the art structures seemingly match the configuration of a human from torso to
head, but unlike actual humans, these structures are transparent. Containing various colors of lucid
lights inside the figurine, the color of the lights depends on the day. Unlike actual people, these
statues have one arm raced at all times, pointing horizontally to the side. Around each art
installation, there are four stone benches surrounding them for people to sit on. When one walks
past both structures, to the South, one will find a black marble reflection pool containing water to
stomp in, used by children and many adults. Because of the smallness of the runway and the need
for some coolness, especially on summer days, many will start splashing in the fountains located at
the southern part of the park. The water seems to go to an anonymous beat because of its altitude
going from short to tall, one step at a time. Ultimately, the most known instrument of the park is the
observation deck, made by two tan towers

Adolescents today are forced to face the intensified stressors of life in our high pressured society
and the cognitive, physiological, and emotional changes that take place throughout this stage of
development. As a result, the rates of many psychopathologies increase significantly among
adolescents ages 10 16. Extensive research that shows that anxietylevels and disrupted social skills
can be particularly high among adolescents with learningdisabilities (LD). However, the origin of
anxiety as it relates to LD has yet to be determined, making it hard to treat. On the one hand, there

Thus, the authors hypothesized that if mindfulness meditation can encourage attentional factors and

all three of these outcome variables by mitigating cognitive interference. The participant sample was
composed of thirtyВtwo adolescent volunteers (aged 13 17) recruited from four classes in a
private high school for children with LD. For five days a week, the participants were led in
mindfulness meditation (not identified with MBSR) for five to ten minutes at the beginning of
each class period by two classroom teachers. The researchers used a preВpost no control design
composed of three tests: the Social Skills Rating System (SSRS), The State Trait Anxiety Inventory

improvements of students social skills and academic performance (SRRS and attitudinal questions

SIMILARITIES
Because Sinan worked on the Hagia Sophia he became intimately familiar with its form and
structure so its not surprising that it had an influence on much of his work. Of all his
buildings, conceptually the Suleymaniye is probably the most similar to the Hagia Sophia with
the basic concept of the central domed space made larger with attached semidomed spaces which
in turn have smaller spaces attached topped by smaller domes. Because the dome of the Hagia
Sophia was considered to be a great feat for the Christians Sinan designed the dome of the
Suleymaniye to send the message that not only were Muslims just as capable but, with an even
larger and higher dome, that they were superior.
More similarities can be drawn with the forms and structures of the two buildings. In addition to
the dome and semidomes, the main arches, piers, buttresses, and galleries were adopted by the
Suleymaniye. These were all part of the basic structural system in both buildings of a dome on four
supports. Sinan also used pendentives as the structural system under the main dome and squinches
as a transitional element between semidomes and the rest of the structure. Additionally Sinan used
similar wide arches in the Suleymaniye although they were not needed structurally and were
probably used for their formal appearance. The piers of the Suleymaniye are also similar with their
projections used to support the bracing arches. These are the basic formal and

Psychedelic Drug UseEssay Psychedelic drug use has been present in both traditions and used recreationally for millennia. Their use can be seen in all corners of the planet by many sects of religions and indigenous peoples. Reasons for usage vary from religious or medical purposes, hunting, war, and spirituality. The drug use was viewed with much less of a negative stigma than it is today. It wasn t until recently that the government cracked down on the use of psychedelic drugs. They placed many of the drugs into schedules in which the legality of the drug was assigned. Most of the drugs can be found on the list of schedule one substances. Schedule one drugs are drugs that have a high potential for abuse, has no currently accepted medical use, and has a lack of accepted safety under medical supervision. What I LearnedFrom My Coat Of Arms In my Coat of Arms, I revealed many things about myself. In the first box in the center, I drew something that I will never give up. In my opinion family and God are the most valuable thing a person could have and this applies to me. I would never trade God and Family for anything else because they shaped who I am. Ever since I was born, my parents have been sacrificing their own interests for mine. They provided me with everything that I need and some things that I want. They decided to invest in my future by letting me go to SM when instead, I could attend a public High School. In my picture, I drew my family with my parents and my sister. I put a Circle around my family symbolizing God watching over us. The colorI used for this box and many other boxes is blue because it s one of my favorite colors and it s not invasive enough to cover up my message. I usually focused on the result that I want to achieve but not the process with other people. After meeting kids from all around the world in a summer camp, I found out that balance with others is more important than the result. Effective Leaders ProduceSuccessful Results Leadership is found in a variety of aspects of life, work, and sports. Few will argue that effective leaders produce successful results. Many more will agree that successful leadership is not always determined by the financial bottom line in business or by win percentage in sports. Leadership in both business and in coaching requires and often exudes a common set of skills, goals, desires, and strategies that are common in both arenas. Leaders in all walks of life, to include commercial real estate and collegiate administration, find common ground when tasked with inspiring subordinates and helping them to realize their potential in an effort to obtain optimum results. Formally, Merriam Webster (2014) defines leadershipas, the power or ability to lead other people (para. 1). Truly, leadership requires ability; the ability to motivate, instruct, and guide subordinates is paramount. Those who have the charisma to be leaders but lack the expertise to direct subordinates and show how the work is done, on whatever level, will not be able to properly facilitate change. Moreover, the lack of effective leadership or the implementation of ineffective false leadership may cause more harm than good within a business setting or team. Leadership in sport is referred to often but can never be overstated. Having the ability to teach and to motivate is necessary either when leading as a coach or as a player. Women were displayed to be very dependent on male characters to come rescue them, no signs of independency are apparent until recent contemporary films. In the movies Mulan and Aladdin, the women were more free spirited and less dependent on men. In this case, Disney films begins to break that barrier of genderroles within a relationship as a couple, changing the view of gender expectations similar to this day. Around the early 20th century, women never gained freedom or rights like how it is today. Expected to stay home, manage the house, please their husband, and depend on the men to bring or come home with their needs. Pets Are ProneAt Superficial Skin Injuries Pets are prone to superficial skin injuries and most owners will encounter a situation at some point in time involving a cat, dog or other pet that s sustained a wound. Unfortunately, many dog and cat owners do not know how to properly clean and disinfect a wound or the owner will assume that the injury will heal on its own, leading to a complete lack of wound care. And too often, a situation with a wounded dogor cat will end in the veterinarian s office with a pet who s experiencing a great deal of pain and discomfort from the cut, gash or sore. It s important that pet owners understand how to perform basic first aid on their animals. It s part of responsible animal ownership. You wouldn t ignore a wound on your child, so a dog or cat s wound should be tended to as well, explained Dr. Michael Levine, DVM. If an injury is not treated properly, infection will result. Signs of infection include pain, swelling and redness, In cases where an infection has been left to fester and spread unchecked, the pet may need to go under anesthesia for a complete cleaning of the wound site and removal of tissue that s been damaged by the infection. In severe cases, the infection can spread from the skin s surface, down into the deep tissues of the muscle and even to the bone. If the infection encounters the circulatory system, the infection can turn systemic, resulting in an often deadly condition known as sepsis. To avoid infection, all cuts, scrapes, sores and other ... Summer Concert Report Beingin the Youth Orchestras of Fresno for the past 5 years, I have had the pleasure of working on some of the most incredible pieces in orchestra literature. I ve been a part of some special concerts, like performing Stravinsky s Rite of Spring, Bernstein s On the Waterfront, Symphony No. 12 by Shostakovich, Short Ride in a Fast Machine by Adams, and Mussorgsky s Pictures at an Exhibition, but there is one piece in particular that has made a huge impact on me and many people in the Central Valley in California. It made me realize that this drought has had a huge impact, and how a lot of people in California aren t really taking this situation very seriously. After the premiere in Fresno, and performing Water(less) Music again at the Walt Disney Concert Hall the following summer, I started to become more aware of the amount of water that my family and I have been using. I never imagined that my actions, such as allowing water to run while brushing my teeth or having the sprinklers on too long, could cause hardship for people in the Central Valley. Since the Central Valley is an agriculture based economy, the drought has caused many people a loss in crops, income, and even jobs. It actually affected my family directly. My grandfather is a raisin farmer and has experienced a decrease in the size of his crop over the last five years. The word drought can have different meanings to different people, depending on how a shortage of water affects them. I will always remember how performing this piece impacted my understanding of the drought. As I look into the next few years of my life, and consider the possibility of moving out of California for college, I will always remember to conserve water no matter where I live. The experience of premiering Water(less) Music gave me a deeper appreciation for the importance of water that I once ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Impact OfEducation In The Middle Ages During the time of the Middle Ages, life as a citizen saw little to no change. With the feudal system in place, people were born into different social classes like Lords, Knights, and Serfs. However, it was extremely difficult, if not impossible, to move up in one s class. Once someone was born into a specific role in society, people believed that it was his or her fate to remain in that class. Also, society was not progressing. One example of this can be seen in the Black Death. This Black Death, or, Bubonic Plague, killed off nearly one third of the entire population. Civilians were stunned, and did not know why this event occurred, or how to solve the problem. Nobody could figure out how to stop the disease, because no medical advancements were taking place, and people were uneducated. Education in the Middle Ages was not available to everyone, so many people were illiterate, causing society s growth to pause. It became clear that people needed to change their mindset in order for their lives to be better. This change came in the Renaissancetime period, where a significant growth in many areas of life occurred. The positive growth was so impactful that P.J. O Rourke, an American political journalist once said, Not much was really invented during the Renaissance, if you don t count modern civilization. People today look back on the Renaissance, and embrace how it is considered as a rebirth period. The Renaissance was a turning point for intellectual ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Theories Of AntiArab And Anti-Islamic Hate Crime Theories of Anti Arab and Anti Islamic Hate Crime Before and After 9/11 The terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001 were a triggering event for spikes of anti Arab and anti Muslim hate crime in weeks following the events and were so profound that rates of anti Arab/Islamic hate crime never returned to their pre 9/11 numbers. The media played a large role in the weeks following 9/11 where Arab Americans and Muslims were demonized and profiled as disloyal, anti American terrorists, perhaps contributing to the rise in incidents of these types of hate crimes. In the following months, Arab and Muslim began to be used interchangeably and became synonymous with terrorist and jihadist. Well over a decade later, these stereotypes remain and new incidents of tragedies are often first assumed to be the work of Islamic terrorist groups. These stereotypes are damaging and may be related to why anti Arab/Islamic hate crime have not returned to the rates before 9/11. Choosing Between UCR and NCVS for Accurate Hate Crime Reporting For this research paper, I chose to utilize academic sources that based their findings on data taken from the FBI s Uniform Crime Reports, which includes information on hate crimes after the passage of the Hate Crime Statistics Act of 1990 (Riedel Welsh, 2016, p. 136). I favored the UCR research over that which used the National Crime Victimization Survey because the NCVS estimates of the number of hate crimes is based on victim perceptions of whether a ... A Short NoteOn The And Its Effects On The World s Mini... I began popping pills when I was thirteen. Anything and everything I could get my hands on. My friends and I would meet before school, taking various containers out of our bags. Mine was a Wrigley s Doublemint Gum tin. We would open them up, displaying pills of various shapes, colors, and sizes. We had our own mini pharmacy with it s own barter system of sorts. A few anti depressants for an Adderall, or a muscle relaxer for a Klonopin. Half of them we didn t even know what they were. We all could get different stuff, so together we had a rainbow of pharmaceuticals. My favorite however, was Effexor. My grandmother had them for depression associated with bipolar disorder, but she never took them. It was easy to swipe the bottle. The pills were these bright orange capsules, with little white beads inside. It felt like a maraca as they slid down my throat. Over time, taking one, became taking four at a time. After taking them I would experience severe stomach cramps, nausea, dizziness, and migraines. My friends were popping pills for fun, but I was taking them to suffer. I wanted so badly to forget about the emotional pain I was going through, I wanted to feel physically how I felt mentally everyday. If I hurt, that s all I could focus on, everything else disappeared. All the self doubt and self hate vanished. I just wanted a moment of peace inside my brain. Freud s WorstNightmare Perfect Sex Dream Brendan Gosse Cynthia Miller Making Monsters October 9, 2014 Freud s Worst Nightmare Perfect Sex Dream In her article, author Barbra Creed discusses a wide range of theories and assumptions on Freud and his relation to modern cinema, memories, and the development of the original horror film. She begins by describing Freud and his obsession with horror. She briefly mentions some of his case histories that entail themes of sexual abuse, hysteria, bestiality, phobias, and perversity, but primarily continues to inform us of his hatred of cinema. Considering Freud was born in 1856, he was just reaching his mid 50 s when early cinema really took off. Films and movies became the forefront of entertainment, the must see attraction by audiences across the country, and the newest daring art form. This was, however, an art form that Sir Sigmund Freud wanted nothing to do with. Despite having several films be inspired by his theories and writings, Freud refused to become involved with films and filmmaking, and even avoided being captured on camera in his daughter s home videos. The reason for this hatred however, is neglected and left questionable by Creed. The author points out that early cinema was known for stretching the boundaries on narrative filmmaking by incorporating elements of sex, desire, and eroticism, which were, of course, main focuses of Freud s countless writings. She continues her analysis by efficiently describing the modern self and the divided self: two ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

His mental incapabilities have their obvious disadvantages, but what is more worthy of discussion are the, not so obvious, advantages. His idealistic and optimistic view of the world and his innocence blind him to the evil in people, and consequently; he is able to find the best in each person he encounters. The Elemental ExplorationOf A Salt And Salt Solution, And... Project A: The elemental exploration of the behavior of iron in physiological conditions, the acquisition of solid copper from a salt and salt solution, and the synthesis and crystallization of aluminum. Introduction: Iron is an essential element in the human body. It can be found in the hemoglobin and transferrin of the bloodstream, and in myoglobin in muscle tissue. The main purpose of iron is to transfer oxygen within the body. To gain iron, humans must consume a diet that consist abundantly of iron such as leaf vegetables, fish, beans, etc. Absorption of iron is especially important because less than 15% of iron in daily diets are absorbed and used (Jacobs 1971). The formation of iron (II) occurs in the stomach because of its low ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Because synthesis requires multiple steps to make a desired reaction, the yield is lower than other synthesis. On the first day, if the substances have a significant amount of precipitate, then the substance will require a greater number of drops of sodium hydroxide than substances with an insignificant amount of substrate. On the second day, if the starting reactants affect the yield of the product then obtaining solid copper from a salt will result in a greater yield. If aluminum foil is the limiting reactant of the experiment, then the percent yield will increase as the amount of foil increases. Materials/Methods: Project A, Day 1 In Part 1, 50 milliliters of 5% sodium hydroxide solution was obtained and observed in a 100 mL beaker and 30 milliliters of pH 2 dissolved iron solution was also obtained and observed in a 50 mL beaker. To observe the behavior of dissolved iron with sodium hydroxide, 5 milliliters of pH 2 dissolved iron was transferred to a large test tube. Drops of 5% solution of sodium hydroxide were slowly added and monitored for physical changes. A glass stir rod was used to transfer a small amount of solution onto pH paper in between drops of 5% solution of sodium hydroxide until the solution had a pH of 8. In Part II, 5 milliliters of dissolved iron was placed in a large test tube. To test the effect of different additive substances on dissolved iron, .2 grams of methionine was added to ... Some Keep TheSabbath Going To Church Getting to Heaven Some keep the Sabbath going to Church 236 In the poem Some keep the Sabbath going to Church, the theme is that there is more than one way to get to Heaven(1, 1668). The persona suggests that this is true because they still have a relationship with God; they just worship differently than what is accepted by society. In the line that reads, And an Orchard, for a dome, Dickinson uses imagery to paint a picture for the reader(4, 1668). The image is an orchard of trees that provides her with a safe place for worship instead of the traditional church sanctuary. She is suggesting that nature, the things unspoiled by humankind, is whatone really needs for worship and gaining a relationship with God. The practices that many religions believe have to be performed are unnecessary because God is with you all the time and not just when you are in church. It is just as ... This is another way that a middle man is used in religious practices. The Bible reads no one comes to the Father except through me (John 14:6). Dickinson is going by the words of the Bible instead of the words of mankind. The final two lines of the poem read So instead of getting to Heaven, at last I m going, all along (11, 1668). The connotation of these words relay to the reader that along with all the church goers she, the one who exercises her own, individual beliefs and practices, will be right there with them going to Heaven. It is a known factor that stressors play a large part of everyone s daily living, many people learn to either manage stress or have been placed on some type of medication to help control it. In the world today, there are so many causes and effects of stress but only a few different ways to help manage and maintain a healthy lifestyle. The effects of stress is directly linked to coping. The study of coping has evolved to surround a large variety of training beginning with all areas of psychology such as health psychology and environmental psychology. Coping strategies can be broken up into three large components, (physiological, cognitive, and learned.) The cognitive approach to coping is based on a mental process of how the individual values the situation. Where the level of judgement determines the level of stress and the unique coping strategies that the individual decides to use. In physiological it is inside the body and what goes on behind closed doors. The body has its own way of coping with stress. The Causes OfAir Pollution In Beijing, China Beijing, China has a coal mining history of nearly 800 and some odd years. This has been a major air pollutant and the main reason for it is because its economy has grown substantially in the last 30 years. Worldwide, there are twenty cities with the highest, worst air pollution, sixteen of those cities are within China alone. The main causes of Beijing s air pollutioncan be pointed to several factors. Large economical growth, an increase in vehicles on the roads, growth in population, and manufacturing. China has also experienced major economic growth with a large rise in Gross Domestic Product. This increase can be connected with pollution. Vehicles are just one contributor to pollution which we will discuss later in this paper. The population growth in Beijing contributes to a big portion of its pollution. The population has risen from 11 million to 16 million in just 7 years, and has nearly doubled over the past century. Factories that utilize coal burning contribute to the smogcurrently present in Beijing. Many of these factories depend on outdated and inefficient technology which emits air pollutants. Beijing is a victim of its own topography since it s surrounded by mountains which traps pollution within the city. Air quality worsens in the spring and summer seasons when the humidity and temperature levels increase. Air pollution has been so drastic to the point that the city often engulfs in smog making it near zero visibility which in turn causing road ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Many cultural and scientific advances were made during this period, especially in architecture and medicine. As Arthur Ericsson states the period was studded by the names of architects such as Filippo Brunelleschi and Donato Bramante, whose creations are recorded as great historical events. The Renaissanceperiod is also well known for the new scientific discoveries made through the examination of the human body. The European society changed greatly during the Renaissance period due to the many cultural and scientific advances made particularly in architecture and medicine. The architecture of the Renaissance period replaced the medieval gothic style with a style representing the rebirth of classical civilization. One of the famous architects in the early Renaissance was Filippo Brunelleschi. Through looking at the old Roman and Greek architecture, he was able to bring back the old traditional buildings and arches, but in a more effective and proportional way. In the early Renaissance, the Florentines fathers created a competition for the ideal dome design. Many architects came from all around Europe to showcase their designs. Abuse of the system can turn into fraud. Because the fraud can come from many angles, it makes it really difficult for regulatory agencies to detect and protect against abuse and fraud. However, many changes to the system and the collaboration of regulations by many agencies have made a difference. Health care fraud is a crime that over time has had a significant impact on public and private health care payment system (Kongstvedt, 2013). Making a difference for this topic can have a significant impact on health care in general. Health care fraud takes a lot of means from the system, therefore affecting its goals. On these days, it is no surprise to be the only one in the park apart from the random groups of people passing by or an individual playing with his/her dog in the lush green grass. Even though there are several areas of grass around the park, the most immense section is located in the center of everything. This area is incredibly emphasized because of how everything revolves around it; if anyone was to sit right in the middle of it, he/she would be engulfed by the relaxing atmosphere. Sitting there would permit anyone to see buildings a hundred times his/her size in any direction he /she would turn. For instance, someone can see the well known AT T skyscraper, also known as the Batman Building, which is more than thirty stories tall. At the bottom section of grass, there are two art structures; the art structures seemingly match the configuration of a human from torso to head, but unlike actual humans, these structures are transparent. Containing various colors of lucid lights inside the figurine, the color of the lights depends on the day. Unlike actual people, these statues have one arm raced at all times, pointing horizontally to the side. Around each art installation, there are four stone benches surrounding them for people to sit on. When one walks past both structures, to the South, one will find a black marble reflection pool containing water to stomp in, used by children and many adults. Because of the smallness of the runway and the need for some coolness, especially on summer days, many will start splashing in the fountains located at the southern part of the park. The water seems to go to an anonymous beat because of its altitude going from short to tall, one step at a time. Ultimately, the most known instrument of the park is the observation deck, made by two tan towers ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Extensive research that shows that anxietylevels and disrupted social skills can be particularly high among adolescents with learningdisabilities (LD). Thus, the authors hypothesized that if mindfulness meditation can encourage attentional factors and self esteem and, thus, reduce anxiety, it may also concurrently enhance social skills and academic performance. They also hypothesized that mindfulness meditation (MM) would positively influence all three of these outcome variables by mitigating cognitive interference. The participant sample was composed of thirtyВtwo adolescent volunteers (aged 13 17) recruited from four classes in a private high school for children with LD. For five days a week, the participants were led in mindfulness meditation (not identified with MBSR) for five to ten minutes at the beginning of each class period by two classroom teachers. The researchers used a preВpost no control design composed of three tests: the Social Skills Rating System (SSRS), The State Trait Anxiety Inventory (STAI) and Attitudinal questions. All three surveys were completed by both the students and their two teachers. On postВintervention surveys, students selfВreported both decreased state (shortВterm) and trait (longВterm) anxiety (STAI test). Moreover, the teachers reported improvements of students social skills and academic performance (SRRS and attitudinal questions surveys). The variables above showed significant improvements in the postВtest (all p values .05). Although not directly assessed, these results suggest that mindfulness ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

As with the Domino theory US feared about their own own safety and was afraid to lose to world of communism, there strategy in fighting with communism and taking actions that even if they could not be terrorism considerably they has been involvements. For example US involvement in Vietnam war through out the1950s till 1960s. In that incidence united states supported France which was more a democratic side and rejected vietnamese nationalist Ho Chi who was known as a communist supported by Russia, and aided with the cost of the war. In 1964 the congress authorised Johnson the president to take necessary actions to prevent aggression against united states in Vietnam and bombing of Vietnam took place in response to this resolution. Even though the Gulf of Tonkin Resolution stated they had no political ambitions or military ,the story seemed more than just providing aid to a week country but rather was United states committee to prevent communism. Vietnams war can be perceived for some individuals as a way of America giving assistance to south Vietnam based on making decision in what they believe is best for the population, however helping and assisting in a war according to my definition of terrorism. Comparing Islamic andArabic Architecture Essay Comparing Islamic and Arabic Architecture Works Cited Missing The Hagia Sophia church and the Suleymaniye mosque are separated by a thousand years but are tied together eternally. One representing the achievement of the Christian Byzantine empire and the other representing the ability of the Islamic Ottoman empire and its architect Sinan. Two empires that had very little in common other than their architecture and region. In earlier history the Dome of the Rock represented the Islamic empire s attempt to rival the newly defeated Byzantine empire and its architectural achievements such as the Holy Sepulchre. As history often repeats itself, with similar political motives the Suleymaniye mosque became the Ottoman s answer to the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... SIMILARITIES Because Sinan worked on the Hagia Sophia he became intimately familiar with its form and structure so its not surprising that it had an influence on much of his work. Of all his buildings, conceptually the Suleymaniye is probably the most similar to the Hagia Sophia with the basic concept of the central domed space made larger with attached semidomed spaces which in turn have smaller spaces attached topped by smaller domes. Because the dome of the Hagia Sophia was considered to be a great feat for the Christians Sinan designed the dome of the Suleymaniye to send the message that not only were Muslims just as capable but, with an even larger and higher dome, that they were superior. More similarities can be drawn with the forms and structures of the two buildings. In addition to the dome and semidomes, the main arches, piers, buttresses, and galleries were adopted by the Suleymaniye. These were all part of the basic structural system in both buildings of a dome on four supports. Sinan also used pendentives as the structural system under the main dome and squinches as a transitional element between semidomes and the rest of the structure. Additionally Sinan used similar wide arches in the Suleymaniye although they were not needed structurally and were probably used for their formal appearance. The piers of the Suleymaniye are also similar with their projections used to support the bracing arches. These are the basic formal and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
