Supervisor Skills Essays
Six Skills to Successful Supervision
Supervisors are an important part of any organization. They are charged with ensuring the will of
management is carried out by the workers. A supervisor must communicate with that team. He or
she must orient and train the employees. Their employees must be made to work as a well
functioning, productive team. Employees must have the performance evaluated. Any conflicts that
arise must be resolves and the working relationship must always be improved.
Communication
Well performing teams can not be built without good communication. A good supervisor must
possess the ability to relay clearly their own thoughts, listen to the ideas of others and ensure the
will of management is executed. Excellent ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is done by restating the key points of the speaker. Restating will show the speaker that he or
she is being listened to which will improve the rapport and further enhance communication. The
speaker will also have the opportunity to clear up any misunderstood points. Paraphrasing will also
aid in remembering the conversation for later.
Determining Effective Orientation and Training Methods
The first day of work can be intimidating for anyone; even for those who have been in the
workforce for many years. Nervousness, while not unusual, can be detrimental to the goals of a
company. Taking the time to ensure all new employees are acquainted with their coworkers and
surrounding can reduce insecurity and boost moral. A thorough training program will also help
to eliminate mistakes, ensure procedures are followed and increase employee confidence.
Orientation should be held on the first day. Employees should be given an opportunity to
introduce themselves and learn about the others that are being going to be in orientation with
them. This will help them relax and feel more comfortable asking questions. This is a good time
to take care of paper work. Payroll and tax forms should be filled completed as well as any other
necessary documents. This is also a good time to discuss the company and its plans. The employee
should also be introduced to the hierarchy of the company. This will allow them to see where

Discuss and describe a moral panic from a social science...
Society is frequently subjected to moral panics when any crime is committed. Humanity
repeatedly blows crimes and incidents out of proportion until the entire society is somewhat
controlled. Stuart Hall, in his book, Policing the Crisis explained that the media, in conjunction
with the bourgeoisie, create moral panics in order to perpetrate fear and maintain control over
society, as a whole. (Hall, 2013, s. 1) Moral panics are created as a hazard and rising threat to
shock both society and culture into changing the way it thinks and acts about problems in the real
world. In this essay, moral panics will be looked at in detail with a specific interest in the case of
James Bulger. There will too, be a focus on the influence the media,... Show more content on

Marx established the Elite Engineered Model which encompasses the ruling elite manufacturing
certain panics to instil fear in society and divert it away from the real problems they are having. In
the scenario of the James Bulger murder, those with high ranking in society involved in the case,
for example, police, detectives, press and politicians, created the moral panic of the murder in an
attempt to divert the public s opinion away from the shocking crime of two young boys, just 10
years old, not just abducting a toddler from a busy shopping centre in Liverpool, but also killing
him in the most vicious way and dumping his body on train tracks in an attempt to cover up what
had happened. This is not the behaviour of children; it is the behaviour of evil.
Particularly due to the age of the killers, the ferociousness of the crime and the age of the victim,
the mass media reports allowed the public to get personally and emotionally involved in the case
and have severe anger and resentment towards the children who murdered James Bulger. The
public outcry was huge and, the decision by the politicians and press

Why Do People Use Personal Stereos
Bull also states that The belief that urban subjects are subjects in retreat has become a core
explanatory frame work or everyday urban environment experienced as being inhabited by
strangers and hence dangerous. This is typical of visual explanations of urban behaviour that
locate motivation completely in terms of supposed responses to the environment. (Bull 2000,
p.137) this links very well to the idea of people using their personal stereos as a way to block
others out. When travelling on public transport you are in a way trapped in a small place with
strangers as the quote states. I would like to see if this is why so many people use their
headphones and personal stereos as a barrier to separate themselves from others while travelling

Group Development Stages
Knowing and understanding the five stages of group development is extremely important. The first
step is called Forming. Forming is when the group first meet up and is getting to know each other.
During the forming stage members usually introduce themselves and give a brief introduction about
their likes dislikes and interest. The members usually discuss what role each person will perform,
by now the group should have a group leader who should be in attendance making sure the meeting
is running smoothly. The second stageis called storming, storming is when the group comes
together and bring their ideas to the table. Most groups don t get passed this stage because there
tend to be arguments when it comes to deciding which direction the group... Show more content on

At times the roles they play can they play can have a positive impact on the group and other
times it may have an extremly negative impact and set the group back in progress. An example
of this would be the Joker, the joker in the group serves as an distraction to the group and usually
can t stay focus and distract other members from staying focus, the devils advocate has a
negative impact as well, this member tend to disagree with almost every decision the group
comes up with on the flip side the devil advocate tends to have great ideas that are deep in
thought. You also have the sniper who can shoot down ideas that other group members come up
with which can lead to them dismissing good ideas that just need to be brainstormed on. You
also have the dominator who intimidate the other members from speaking up due to there
dominate personalities. There s also the decision maker of the group who tends to attempt to
make all the decisions for the group and doesn t give enough time for ideas to develop before
making decisions. There s other roles which bring positive attributes to the group like the
mediator, the mediator serve a good purpose of bringing peace and balance to the group the only
issue with the mediator is that they are ofter relationship oriented instead of task oriented. There s
also the Listener who sits down and respectfully listens to everyone opinion can come up with well

Unteaching The Five Paragraph Essay By Marie Foley Analysis
Unteaching The Five Paragraph essay by Marie Foley is a light hearted but argumentive piece
focusing on the way most school aged children are taught to write. Foley s main point comes down
to the very first words in the essay; The five paragraph formula confuses and alienates students and
undermines our most basic goals as writinginstructors. Foley believes that by teaching children to
write in a formulated manner we are not letting them explore and learn through their own writing.
We are instead giving them the freedom to discontinue the thought process once they feel that the
essaythey have produced meets the formula standards they have been kept to, and refuse to part
with. Marie Foley then brings up a critique by William Coles on

Allende and Peter Winn s Weavers of Revolution Essay
Allende and Peter Winn s Weavers of Revolution
In Peter Winn s Weavers of Revolution, a factory in Santiago, Chile fights for their independence
against the Chilean government of the 1970 s. While this rebellion is going on, presidential
elections are taking place and Salvador Allende is the presidential candidate which represents the
common people. The relation between Allende and the people he represents is a unique one
because at first this class, the working class, helps and supports Allende to become president, but
then both parties realize their different plans for the future and the working class actually
contributes to the downfall of Allende s presidency. At first, the working class heavily supported
Allende s campaign. A ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Allende based his campaign around the unfairness of Chile s society to the working class, and the
Yarur factory gave him the support he needed to win the election. Once Allende becomes elected,
the two revolutions which were supposed to compliment each other actually start to work against
each other. The first type of revolution is the revolution from below , which is characteristic of
the workers in the Yarur rebelling against the Chilean government. The other type is the
revolution from above , this was the revolution common of the higher class like Allende working
towards workers rights. At first, the workers think that their revolution from below was only
helping Allende s revolution from above. The workers did things like form unions for the first
time, or were even so bold to strike against the mill in order to gain complete control over it.
Strikes had happened before which were about things like wages or unions, but this was different
for the fact that they wanted total control of the mill. Allende was forced to give the workers the
power to control the mill. This is just one of the examples of how the revolution from below
sometimes coincided with or complemented, but increasingly diverged from, the legalistic and
modulated revolution from above (141). For the most part in fact, the strategies of Allende were
disrupted by the revolution from below because of their need for extreme

Cultural Construction in Nigerian youth Alliance Notwithstanding being an immigration
organization originated by and sustained by Nigerian immigrants, the members at Nigerian youth
Alliance are more than what they look like in the surface. Even though they are immigrants in the
United States, they have integrated into American culture and hold a concept of morals not

The Mythology Of The Iliad
In The Iliad, the Olympian Gods were depicted as a group of individuals who were still
completely vulnerable to mistake and harm despite their great power. Zeus was one, if not the
biggest and most powerful God among all other Gods. Known as the King of the Gods, Zeus was a
mighty, dominant, and seemingly supreme God, despite his tendency to show surprising silliness
and sometimes, the lack of wisdom through his choices, especially when it came to love affairs,
which eventually led to many problems that could have been prevented. Zeus, in The Iliad, Zeus is
a representation of how ancient Gods were just normal humans equipped with a great degree of
power and capabilities, but they have the tendency to show humanly behavior and mistakes. In the
Homer s Iliad, Gods are very susceptible to human desire. At some point, Gods can act more
human than actual humans would act. They would think, act, speak, and do other things just like a
human being. The only thing that seems to differ Gods and human is their immortality, power and
authority over things. Compared to the gods found in Abrahamic religions, Greek Gods base their
decisions and action without principle but feelings and their personal opinion. Greek God are
known to be capricious, prone to arguments over insignificant things, showing a very close
relationship with human behavior. These characteristics of Greek Gods are probably generated due
to the lack of need to thrive and survive since they are immortal and

The Nature Of Evil In The Lottery And A Good Man Is Hard...
While there are many natures of evil throughout the world, the reoccurrence of social injustice
throughout previous generations have laid the foundation for many writers in the early twentieth
century. Authors Flannery O Connor and Shirley Jackson grew up in the thick of racial diversity
that America was enduring. The Lotteryand A Good Man is Hard to Findhelp exemplify the
importance of moral and natural eviland its effects on the world by using traditional and
untraditional forms of these immoral actions.
In A Good Man is Hard to Find there are two main characters who fit the description of evil.
Whether it is the pretentious grandmother or the unlawful Misfit, O Connor touches upon the
violence and grotesque that she witnessed in her youth (O Connor). The grandmother is a
woman who grew up during the times when racial diversity was more prevalent and clearly was
brought up by a successful family. A little sympathy could be shown towards the grandmother
since most of the narrative is through her eyes, but like The Misfit she has cruel intentions. The
sophisticated lifestyle she lived isolated her from all the harshness in the world and led to her to
believe that her way is always right. This is until The Misfit approaches her and his acquaintance
takes the remaining family to the woods to be murdered. The Misfit has his own internal logic
leading him to believe he is killing because that is what makes him happy, not because he is blood
thirsty. In fact, he is

increased reactive oxygen species (ROS) formation, release of pro inflammatory markers, and
activation of stress response kinases resulting in neuronal cell death. The ongoing neuronal injury

Electric cars are efficient because its energy efficient, cheaper power cost and less energy are
wasted in the process. Electric cars are energy efficient because it uses all the energy it only
needs to run the vehicle. Unlike conventional cars which still needs to convert energy by burning
fuel, electric cars are charge using electricity which is directly used to run the car. The use of
electricity make electric cars more efficient because electricity is cheaper than fuel in some
countries. In a study done by National Association of Convenience Stores (NACS), the prices of
fuel are said to be on the raise in the next few year because of the increase in demand on fuel and
the decrease in the oil reserve. Fuel will become as expensive as gold. The market for fuel

Antilock Brakes Essay
Antilock Brakes Antilock brakes are impressive performers on the test track and in television
advertising. What has surprised a lot of people is that anti lock brakes are not reducing the
frequency or cost of accidents. This is the case despite the obvious benefits of antilock brakes in
test situations. The reason why anti locks are not making the expected and much projected
difference is because many driverslack the knowledge and experience need to use ABS (Anti lock

II. What Anti lock brakes do and don t do Many car owners don t know how to use antilock brakes
effectively and the manuals that come with their automobiles offer little help. Some of the manuals
don t spell out how using antilock brakes is different from using regular brakes. Some
manufacturers provide no instructions at all. Traditionally, drivers are trained to brakegently on
slippery roads or to pump their brakes to avoid a skid. But it is firm, continuous brake pressure
that is required to activate anti locks, which should never be pumped. This is exactly what the
antilock feature does for the driver automatically, it pumps the brakes many times a second.
With the driver pumping antilock brakes during a skid, braking effectiveness may be reduced to
the point of not having brakes at all. Because of misconceptions about the circumstances in
which antilock brakes can help, it s useful to review what they can and cannot do. In normal
braking, a vehicle slows as its wheels are gradually brought to a stop. Without antilock brakes,
hard or emergency braking will cause the wheels to lock before the vehicle comes to a halt. In
this case, some or all of the tires skid along the road. How the vehicle skids depends on the
coefficient of friction, or drag factor, between the tires and the road surface. A vehicle may skid
forward in a straight line or it may

Essay on The Catholic Religion
The world has more than one billion Catholics and with the ever growing population, it will only
get larger in number. To be a Catholic means to have complete faith in God and his divine grace.
Having God s divine grace means to obey it and keep it holy as it was created by God and given
to his people. The religion itself is based on this and the people take it very seriously. Catholics
believe that all people are of good nature but when one commits a sin it not only hurts that one
person but the people and the Church. Catholics are a Christian sect and believe in one God. Like
other Christians, they believe that Jesus is God s Son which goes hand in hand with the belief in

Many Catholics attend mass on Saturday night instead of Sunday morning because of the work
schedule. This was not always the case but has been accepted by Christians since around 1980.
They also have rituals of respect during the service which includes kneeling, singing, bowing
and responding to the priest or deacon. Catholics incorporation their religion into everything
since God created everything. The things one says, the things one do, and even one s thoughts

Catholic relates everything to. As every religion there are certain things that one must do in

Modernism and Art
Modernism Typified Tradition Rejection Modernism is typified by rejection of tradition.
Modernism is a present state undertaking that comes with subsequent changes brought by
innovation and change of approaches in production and thought. Traditions as the past lifestyle and
activity cannot be at the stand with new and modern approaches of relaying similar activities and
solutions. The challenges brought by the environment have changed urgency of approach and
perception of ideas in the world. Change of ideas and approaches touch on every sector of human
and animal life in the world. For instance, modernism is characterized by abandonment of the old
and outdated approaches of activity and embracing new ideas backed by innovation and modern
thought. Therefore, modernism is a gradual adoption of the new ideas and approaches of solving
the immediate and long time problems while rejecting the old traditional ways (Harrison Wood,
2003). Definition of modernism Modernism is referred as ways of exemplifying the modern
thought, practice, and character. Modernism is a movement that transcends from the old and
traditional approaches of doing things in the universe. The old cultures and believes among people
have undergone gradual change over time. New approaches and practices are being embraced by
the human society without much consideration of the differences brought by such changes. With

Following a decade of prosperity, thoughts of continuing improvements gained the confidence of
Americans. The collapse of the stock market was just the beginning. Under the administration of
Hoover and Roosevelt, Americans demanded government intervention for relief but were let

losing half of their value in a single day. When it fell, investors began to sell their stocks.
Between 1929 and 1932, the stock market value dropped 75%. Banks and other businesses
suffered heavy losses. Layoffs and cutbacks lowered purchasing, so fewer people bought cars and
appliances. By 1932, unemployment went up to 25 percent. The reason for the Great Depressionis

Early childhood environments should set out to provide children with the freedom to express and

discuss adult artwork. Engaging children with the world of art by taking them into galleries to
see different works of art can, as mentioned by Terreni (2001, p. 2), produce a wealth of new
ideas and can be the stimulus for new and exciting work. As we feel an array of emotions,
thoughts and ideas when we leave a breath taking new exposure to new art experiences. Such as
feelings of stimulus, inspiration, moved, focused, excited, filled with questions, so too do children
as they leave an exhibition or gallery. It is these feelings, emotions, thoughts, ideas that we want to

Sherlock Holmes Personality
While the reasons for Sherlock Holmes popularity in the nineteenth century and the beginning of
the twentieth are comprehensible enough in the light of the abovementioned facts, the explanation
for Sherlock`s continuing success requires a more detailed analysis. Many characters that were
popular at the time of their creation are forgotten today; at the same time some images developed
hundreds of years ago are still famous and have become iconic in modern culture. Such characters
as Batman, Robin Hood, Harry Potter, Hobbits, and definitely Sherlock Holmesare the obvious
examples of such phenomena of popularity.

Popular Culture s effect on Sports role models
Think About My Generation... Baby!
Sports have such an enormous part of people s lives and they influence us in various ways. People
not only participate in sports, but they discuss, follow, write, and even fantasize about them daily.
Particularly through the eyes of young children, who often view professional athletes as role
models, and look up to them. Popular culture is a part of everyone s lives today, and it affects sports
through a plethora of positive and negative ways. Popular culture makes certain athletes look very
humbling, but then sometimes it could make an athlete look like a complete fool. Many young
boys who enjoy sports usually have dreams of playing professionally one day. Therefore these

Professional athletes such as former New England Patriots star tight end Aaron Hernandez got
into a very substantial amount of trouble. Hernandez was involved in murder, a very serious
crime, and it now has him stuck in jail. He was released by the New England Patriots, and now
is viewed as a horrific man. Michael Vick took part in dog fighting earlier in his career and was
sent to prison for almost two years. Even though he is back in the NFL now, he will never be able
to get rid of the past, and it will always haunt him. Both of these athletes committed very immoral
crimes, obviously Hernandez s being more serious, but regardless they will always have to live
with this. Children who admire these two athletes, and don t know any better are faced with the
issue of trying to understand why they stopped playing. Therefore, athletes sometimes leave very
damaging images on kids who admire them, and popular culture does not help when the news
constantly reports on these guys.
Even though there are a bunch of professional athletes who are appalling role models on kids,
there are a lot more who through pop culture leave excellent impressions on children. Pros such as
Derek Jeter, Tim Tebow, and Eli Manning are prime examples of an excellent role model. All
three of these guys give it their all, each one of them never gets in any trouble, and they are always

Summary Of Doing Nothing Is Something By Anna Quindlen
Deep in Thought The illustrious American author and Pulitzer Prize winner, Anna Quindlen,
wrote the article, Doing Nothing is Something , with the aspiration of reaching out to her
readers and explaining to them that technology, overly structured schedules, and no down time
to explore your mind , is negatively impacting the creativity of our children and diminishing
family cohesiveness. Quindlen stresses that children in today s society are as over scheduled as
we are and that is saying something (Quindlen 82). Although it is recommended for children to
interact with others to build their social skills, it is essential for them to spend time in solitude
in order to shape and expand their mind s creativity; to find themselves and discover who they
are without someone deciding for them. I have a house where I go/ Where nobody ever says No ;

I Am Responding To Question Number 2. “Retirement Is The
I am responding to question number 2. Retirement is the period of life, usually starting between age
60 and 65, during which an individual stops working in the paid labor force. (Lecture slides)
According to our text, the concept of retirement is a relatively recent phenomenon in Western
society. (Hooyman, Kawamoto, Kiyak. Aging Matters: An Introduction to Social Gerontology)
People used to work until they died, but people also used to die much earlier in their lives, so that
could partly explain why that was the case. Retirementalso used to be mandatory at age 65 for most

the major source of income for about 66% of older beneficiaries. For about 24% of beneficiaries

average yearly Social Security benefit in 2013 was about $14,144 a year or about $1179 per

Pink Floyd and the Wall
Discussing Pink Floyd and The Wall
Rock Opera
Pink Floyd s the Wall is arguably one of the most intriguing and imaginative albums in the
history of rock music. Since its release in 1979, and the subsequent movie of 1982, the Wall has
become synonymous with, if not the very definition of, the term concept album. Aurally
explosive on record and visually explosive on the screen, the Wall traces the life of the fictional
protagonist, Pink Floyd, from his boyhood days in war torn England to his self imposed isolation
as a world renowned rock star, leading to a climax that is as questionably cathartic as it is
destructive.

The Wall is a stunning synthesis of Waters familiar thematic obsessions: the brutal misanthropy of
Pink Floyd s last LP, Animals Dark Side of the Moon s sour, middle aged cynicism, the surprisingly
shrewd perception that the music business is a microcosm of institutional opportunity, Wish You
were Here, and the dread of impending psychoses that runs through all these records. There is a
strongly felt antiwar sentiment that dates way back to 1968 s A Saucerful of Secrets. However,
where Animals, for instance, suffered from self centered smugness, the even more abject The Wall
leaps to life with a relentless lyrical rage that is clearly genuine. .
Fashioned as a kind of circular maze (the last words on side four begin a sentence completed by
the first words on side one), The Wall offers no exit except madness from a world malevolently
bent on crippling its citizens at every level of endeavor. The process for those of Waters generation,
at least begins at birth with the smothering distortions of mother love. Then there are some vaguely
remembered upheavals from the wartime Blitz:

Comparing Good Kings In Henry IV And Henry V
Shakespeare s Henry IV and Henry V focus heavily on the idea of good kings versus bad kings.
It is left up to the reader to define the characteristics that makes one king good or another king
bad. One may see a good king as one who is fair to his subjects. Someone else may see a king
who is powerful towards his enemies as the greatest characteristic of a good ruler. Shakespeare
touches on many of these aspects of leadership that readers may see as the defining characteristic
of being a strong monarch. One of these characteristics that is a key factor in these two plays,
along with many more of Shakespeare s works, is how legitimacy plays into making one a good
ruler. Legitimacy is touched upon often in these works due to the recent disposal... Show more

On the issue of his relation to the death of Richard, Henry promises to take a journey to the holy
land to repent for any influence he had in Richard s death. Although the journey was postponed
due to the impending rebellion, his willingness to admit wrongdoing and seek forgiving is a
powerful characteristic of a king. As king, he has the power to deny accusations and silence the
accusers if need be, but he shows integrity by admitting those mistakes and seeking to move on.
When it comes to his issues with Price Hal, he decides not to give up on him, and he calls for his
help to put down rebellion in the country. This patience with his son proves valuable when Hal
saves his life in the battle and defeats Hotspur in combat to help bring an end to the rebel cause.

in response to rebellion. These responses to the most pressing issues in relation to his rule are

Assessment of the Factors that Impact Pay Inequity in America
The widening inequality in income has progressively grown to become a defining challenge in
the contemporary society. Now more than ever, the gap that exists between the rich and the poor
is at its all time high in decades, particularly in the developed economies. Emerging markets and
developing countries (EMDCs) have more mixed inequality trends where some countries have
seen drops in levels of inequality, but pervasive inequality trends continue to remain in access to
vital sectors like healthcare, education, and finance. The degree of inequality, therefore, does not
come as a surprise, nor the driving forces behind it, and the possible solutions to the problem are
currently some of the most fiercely debated issues by researchers and policy makers alike.
A great number of literature points to the fact that there is a considerable discrepancy in the wage
structure in the United States. Wage differential determined by educational level, gender, socio
economic status, race or ethnicity and technical factors like experience; in particular, all rose
significantly. Likewise, other determinants like the residual wage that is the dispersion of wage
within a skill or demographic group also increased simultaneously. This growth in wage inequality

the government was gambling that the peso would remain strong or even strengthen against the US
dollar so the government s debt would be reduced. I think the logic was that the government

all times. Most likely you will experience those days when you wake up in the morning and you
look in the mirror and a huge pimple is sitting right on your forehead, or you ate too much the
night before and you feel fat and sluggish. Its okay to feel that once in awhile it is normal, I
mean of course your self esteem isn t going to go up when you have a huge pimple on your face,
but you can do things to help. Don t focus on the negatives try to always think positive. If you see

Personality Analysis Of Stephanie Tanner In Full House And...
This character personality analysis analyzes the character of Stephanie Tanner from the prominent
television shows Full House and Fuller House with Erik Erikson s eight stages theory, which
consists of eight stages that a person goes through from infancy to adulthood that positively or
negatively effect personality development. This analysis specifically uses stages four, five, and six
to apply to Stephanie Tanner, as stages before or after are not able to be completed with present
knowledge about the character. The paper begins with an explanation of the eight stages theory, and
then goes on to apply the stages to Stephanie Tanner.

In this stage, children enter school, and their teacher becomes an important figure in their lives.
During this stage, the child s peer group, such as their classmates, becomes much more significant,
and the child begins to feel the need to win approval by displaying typical abilities that society
constructs. If the child is encouraged in their initiative attempts, they develop a stronger sense of
confidence in their ability to achieve set goals, but if the child is unable to develop the set skill,
they begin to feel inferior.
The fifth stage is the identity versus role confusion stage, in which adolescents search for a sense of
self and personal identity through exploration of personal values and goals. This stages represents
the transition from childhood to adulthood. Erikson claims that two separate identities are
connected with this stage: the sexual and the occupational. Failure to create a sense of identity
during this stage can lead to role confusion.
The sixth stage is the intimacy versus isolation stage, which occurs in young adulthood. During this
stage, people begin to venture into more serious and long term relationships. If the completion of
this stage is successful, a sense of commitment and safety are achieved, while if the completion of
this stage is unsuccessful, a sense of isolation and loneliness can

Analysis Of RFP For ATM Monitoring
A judgement call that I made which did not allow for analysis or information gathering due to
time constraints was when a large Southern Financial institution that I was leading Distributed
Service Delivery for put out a large RFP for ATM monitoring; they had approximately 3600
ATMs all being serviced and monitored by Diebold, as the Program Manager over this account
all RFPs ran through me. I pulled in what experts we had on ATM monitoring to provide a
thorough response document, it was assumed throughout my company that we were likely being
used solely for leverage with Diebold more so than having a chance at this business. We were told
within a couple weeks that Diebold was being awarded the bid so I stopped our internal evaluations

I had a Team responsible for Monitoring and Managementof thousands of endpoint network

quickly available due to already having connectivity within the customers network, I just needed
resources and training. I had daily scrum type calls with Recruiting to track progress, make sure
interviews could get quickly setup, and knock down any blockers slowing them down.
Recruiting stepped up and sourced 5 of the 7 resources within three weeks and my RIMM Team
with the addition of these 5 resources and the shadowing from the customers tier 3 engineers
were able to successfully come up to speed and deliver on this new service. I had a complete team
of 7 resources before the end of the first 30 days.
This became a great win for Pomeroy and for the Customer. For the Customer, we were offering
a tier 2 level Service at a tier 3 three price point, well under their original T1 provider in this

responding to alerts and issues, with an expanded Team being able to share the work across my

Ancient Wonders
Antipator created a list of awe inspiring structures that spanned a period of time, of
approximately three thousand years (Banks Preface ). The list came to be called the, Seven
Wonders of the Ancient World, as each wonder was located in different areas of the world
(Banks Preface ). Europe could only claim one, two were in Africa, while three were located in
Asia, leaving the final one on a small island south of Greece (Banks Preface ). These structures
were spoke of throughout time due to their magnificence and level of skill it took to create each

It is considered the sixth wonder, only thought to be slightly older than the Lighthouse of
Alexandria (Banks Preface ). The Colossus is also considered the wonder with the shortest
lifespan of about half a century (Editors Ch. 9). As an offering to their sun god, Helios, the
Rhodians had the Colossus built so that they would forever remember winning the war against
Antigous, who sent his son Demetrius, and an army of forty thousand men, to punish the
Rhodians for supporting Ptolemy ( The Colossus of Rhodes ). The great structure was placed on
the Island of Rhodes, which was located off the southwestern tip of Asia Minor where the
Aegean Sea meets the Mediterranean (Krystek Colossus... 1). The sculptor, Charles of Lindus,
took twelve years to complete the statue, finishing it about 280 BC ( Colossus C 481a). The
statue was one hundred and ten feet high and stood upon a fifty foot pedestal near the harbor
mole ( Colossus of Rhodes 1). From the war machines that Demetrius left behind, bronze was
melted down for the exterior, while the framework was composed of iron ( Colossus of Rhodes

Immanuel Kant On Moral Education
Paper One: Kant on Moral Education
Jennifer Penkov: 1345217
Phil 444, Dr Alan McLuckie
Friday, February 12, 2016
Word Count: 1, 567 This paper will focus on Kant s account of a moral education as found in his
Lectures on Pedagogy. It will begin by discussing why Kant believed that education, specifically
moral education, is necessary for a human being to realize her Bestimmung (destiny), but not
necessary for non rational animals to reach their natural vocations. It will analyze the role a moral
education (the general development of morality) plays in becoming human and will continue by
outlining the structure and key points of Kant s hypothetical moral educational system. Finally this
paper will highlight possible conflict between education and autonomy (a concept vital to his
broader moral philosophy) but will ultimately argue that moral education is compatible with the
notion of the intelligible self. Kant makes it explicit in his work that the human being is the only
creature that requires education to reach its natural destiny. In order to fully make sense of this
notion, it is first necessary to briefly discuss the twofold nature of the human self as explained in
Critique of Pure Reason and developed in Groundwork for the Metaphysics of Morals. The human
being is thought of as participating in both the empirical and intelligible realms. The empirical self
is sensual and determined, in that it participates in the natural world and is governed by the laws of
nature

Textual Analysis Essay example
Overview:
The text, Writing on Demand: Best Practices and Strategies for Success is designed specifically
for teachers by teachers. With a quote on the cover of the text that is highlighted by a bright
orange background and explicitly states that this book is Ideal for SAT, ACT, AP, and State
Assessment Exams , the text quickly announces that its core audience is going to be teachers
within the middle school to high school range. Given the aim of this text, it proves to be a highly
beneficial work for aiding teachers in understanding how to adequately prepare their students for the
rigors of writing on demand, be it for regular classroom assignments or standardized tests. After a
thorough analysis of the text I found many of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Context for Usage: The grade levels this text is designed to prepare educators for teaching is
evidenced first in its overall discussion of properly preparing students to be able to write on demand
for state assessment tests. Given that such tests do not regularly take place until students are out of
elementary education it is apparent that this text is directed towards teachers working with a
higher age bracket. This is also further revealed in instances where teachers are directed to help
students think backwards, a skill that is not highly promoted in elementary education as most
children at this age level have not yet developed the capacity to think backwards. The process
described for enabling students to analyze prompts is also one that would be dominantly used
beyond the beginning years of education. Considering each of these factors, the aim of this text is
to be utilized by teachers working with a middle school to high school age bracket.
Learning Objectives: Learning objectives promoted in the college level class on teaching writing
that this text was handed out in, strongly emphasize the importance of group work, as revealed in
the writing theory handout and the scholarly overview handout (see attached).

Common Midpoint Seismic Sections For A Range Of Geological...
1.0 Introduction This practical aimed to generate synthetic common midpoint seismic sections for a
range of geological structures, and migrate these sections to produce true subsurface geometry. 1.1
Background Information The CDP seismic processing method assumes that reflecting features are
both continuous and horizontal; hence, features that do not meet this criteria will not be correctly
imaged. Migration refers to the inversion process that seeks to reposition events in their correct
positions by collapsing diffraction hyperbolae. Corrections needed prior to migration is the
obliquity factor, spherical divergence and wavelet sapping factor. 3.0 Methodology Shell Scripts

Migration of this point has effectively collapsed the diffractions back to the true point (source)
reflector. 4.2 Closely Spaced Reflectors Figure 2 displays a series of closely spaced reflectors
(with coordinates), it acts as horizontal reflector. Diffractions propagate from the sides, whilst
diffractions traveling through the close spaces are mostly undetectable by geophones. As a
result, it is not possible to distinguish a series of closely spaced reflectors and a continuous
reflector. 4.3 Continuous Horizontal Reflector Figure 3 displays a continuous reflector with
diffractions propagating from either side of the reflector. The position of the reflector remains
in its true location with the addition of diffractions. Through migration these diffractions are
removed leaving behind the true reflector. 4.4 Progressively Dipping Reflectors Figures 4 and 5
display four progressively steeper reflectors with angles of 0o, 18o, 33o, 45o. These are steeper,
shorted and up dip to their true positions. In order to resolve steeply dipping reflectors a aperture
width is recommended (figure 5). The steeper the reflector, the more waves reflect downwards
than back to the surface per spatial unit. 4.5 Syncline and Anticline Figure 6 shows a series of
effects on tight synclines and anticlines. A narrow syncline will broaden upon migration. Whilst a
broad anticline will become narrow. If the radius of the curvature of the incident is large, complex

Fox Media s Influence On Politics
The Three largest or most well known news stations of the modern age is Fox News, CNN, and
BBC. Everyone has heard of at least one of these news stations, and most people know what
their stance on politics are. CNN, Fox, and BBC like any news station are political and there are
two political views in this world. There are the left and the right side of politics, I have noticed
that people on the news stations do take side. CNN and BBC take a far more left stance on
politics and Fox news take the right side of politics. How many people tune in on these three main
news stations, and I have found some interesting facts. I have found out that around 8.8 million
people tuned in to fox news last Tuesday. CNN had 5.4 million people tuned in Tuesday, BBC had

opposite, blaming her for it and holding her accountable for her actions, also Fox News is
always the best. They have a tendency to have the right wing approach to politics. So when they
look at something they will look at it from a Republican stand point. Which isn t always the best
way to view things. For example, I was watching Fox News the other day, and they had news
report on recreational marijuana. When I was watching Fox News I realized that they forgot to
mention all the great medical benefits of marijuana, and all they talked about was how it could
harm younger people and how it s bad for you. When you watch these news stations, you can
figure out how they view the world by their stances on current topics. How they try to convince
you that something is bad or good for you. I think that the news should be a station that you can get
your news from, and not hear their political

Patterns of Management Theory
THE MANAGEMENT THEORY JUNGLE
The purpose of this article is to identify the various schools of management theory, indicate the
source of the differences, and to provide some suggestions for disentangling the management theory
jungle. Koontz describes six schools of management theory as follows.
1. The Management Process School
The management process school views management as a process of getting things done with people
working in organized groups. Fathered by Henri Fayol, this school views management theory as a
way of organizing experience for practice, research and teaching. It begins by defining the functions
of management.
2. The Empirical School
The empirical school views management theory as a study of experience. Koontz mentions ... Show

For example, mathematics, operations research, accounting, economic theory, sociometry, and
psychology are significant tools of management, but they are not part of the content of the field.
2. Integration of Management and other Disciplines
3. The Clarification of Management Semantics
4. Willingness to Distill and Test Fundamentals
Criteria to Remember in Clarifying Management Theory
1. Management theory should deal with a manageable area of knowledge and inquiry.
2. Management theory should be useful in improving practice.
3. Management theory should not be lost in semantics, jargon not understandable to the practitioner.
4. Management theory should provide direction and efficiency to research and teaching.
5. Management theory must recognize that it is a part of a larger universe of knowledge and theory.
Koontz clarified the jungle like nature of management theory, first in the
Journal of the Academy of Management, then in Harvard Business Review.^
Business Week magazine noted it for the executive reader. Waino Suojauen,
Lyndall Urwick, and many others have leaped into the fray. William Frederick suggests that in ten
years we will see from this jungle emerge a general theory akin to Keynes General Theory of
Employment Interest and Money in the field of economics.^
There are many indications that a serious

The Effects Of Fast Food On Children
Did you know that 30% of children ages 6 to 11 are overweight? 15.3% of children ages 6 to 11 are
obese? The impact obesity has on a child can become life changing. According to the CDC if
current trends continue, 1 of 3 U.S. adults will have diabetes by 2050 (Evans, W, 2006). Behind
the mask of obesity is a child that falls into the trap of fast foodadvertisement. Overall, the fast food
industry should be more socially responsible and not direct their marketing strategy of unhealthy
food choices to children; this will cut down the percentage of children suffering from childhood
obesity that leads to various health issues.
One might object here, that it is a free market and freedom of speech is part of the U.S.
Constitution. However, everyone has a different opinion about fast food and boudaries must be
respected. Still the fast food market is targeting children too often and too much, even involving
Schools to advertise unhealthy food in exchange for funding. One may argue, children learn by
example, parents are responsible for leading them in the right direction of how to make healthy
food choices. With this being said, parents are beginning to become concerned with how the fast
food is being marketed to children.
One of the largest leading industries known as fast food continues to market unhealthy promotions,
targeting young minds. Children watch an average of over ten related food advertisements daily,
and (nearly 4,000 per year) (Powell LM, S. R. 2011).

Humanities Reflection
Nice discussion post this week! We both agree with the articles by Kristof and Kaleem and I
enjoyed as well. The quote you have mentioned also makes a lot of sense to me too and got me
thinking. I struggled with the big questions of life and still am, but I have been able to have a
much better appreciation for life and have had a better time at finding that true purpose. Having
a lot of information thrown at us constantly though can be challenging, I do not blame you! I
agree with too that the humanities can help people to stay grounded in an ever changing
informational world; I know it has for me. This is why I agree with the articles because the
humanities should be taught and explored in the academic setting. Living in a digital world
definitely has pros (communication, medical advances, etc.) and cons, such as social media at
times like you have mentioned. It has done and will do so much for us, but it also can be too
much at times. Luckily my parents raised me to appreciate life and what I have and I never was
fixated on my phone or electronics . I think that is why I became an artist myself. I needed a way
to express my self and spend my time. Art was the answer for me. It allowed me to find myself
and express myself in a way an electronic could not for me. After reading the article Extraordinary
Outsiders: The Makers Who Don t Know They re Artists this week I could really relate because
art is one of my passions and when I was in high school I volunteered with the

favorite hobby is fishing. He utilizes specific tactics and strategies to capture his bounty and
seriously knows how to attract the whoppers. The Catch of the Day award would definitely go to
Spencer. One reason why Spencer deserves the award Catch of the Day is because he uses highly
efficient strategies to catch fish. Spencer knows fish are extremely sensitive, so he attempts to be
as sneaky as possible. Usually, he tiptoes onto the deck and tries to not make a sound. When he
lowers the fishing line, Spencer does so carefully so fish don t sense the vibrations. Additionally,
Spencer uses buoys to help him fish. They stabilize the line and make fishing simpler. They also
minimize movement, that way the fish can close in on the bait. Essential tools and planning are

Donald Finkel s The Great Wave Off Kanagawa
The Great Wave: Hokusai by Donald Finkel is a poem written about The Great Wave Off
Kanagawa , an artwork produced from 1831 to 1833 by Katsushika Hokusai during the Edo
period. The The Great Wave Off Kanagawa is just one of The Thirty six Views of Mt. Fuji . This
woodblock print portrays a tremendous tsunami overpowering small man powered boats, along with
Mount Fujiin the background. The compelling contrast between the turbulent waves and light
colored sky draws the viewer s eyes to the central figure of Mount Fuji, which was considered a
sacred symbol of beauty and immortality. In order for Finkel to develop a connection with Hokusais
work of art, he finds common ground between the world of the artist and the observer. Donald

According to Donald Finkel, describing his own speculations help the observer understand his
interpretation of the artwork. In light of this, he shares the correlation between the different
parts of nature and color in the first stanza by drawing attention to how the sea is blue (1). By
starting his poem with this reason, repeated twice with other elements of the painting, it
conjures the imagery of a chain reaction within creation. The land, sea, and people are linked as
one a commentary on the inclusiveness of nature. In addition to the color blue, a connection is
created with the use of similes between the color of the men s white faces , which was like the
snow on Fuji...and the crest of the wave (3). It is not by mere coincidence that the three main
objects in Hokusai s work are alike in color. Once again, land, sea, and humanity are linked in a
triangle, providing balance. Finally, a yellow neutral tone envelops the people, an earthcolored sky
that is also the color of their boats (8, 4 5). Finkel, and the woodblock, are saying that nature is not
the tool of humans, but rather that humans are just one part of a larger world that, as the wave
shows, can just as easily overwhelm

Restating will show the speaker that he or she is being listened to which will improve the rapport and further enhance communication. The speaker will also have the opportunity to clear up any misunderstood points. Paraphrasing will also aid in remembering the conversation for later. Determining Effective Orientation and Training Methods The first day of work can be intimidating for anyone; even for those who have been in the workforce for many years. Nervousness, while not unusual, can be detrimental to the goals of a company. Taking the time to ensure all new employees are acquainted with their coworkers and surrounding can reduce insecurity and boost moral. A thorough training program will also help to eliminate mistakes, ensure procedures are followed and increase employee confidence. Orientation should be held on the first day. • 3. Discuss and describe a moral panic from a social science... Society is frequently subjected to moral panics when any crime is committed. Humanity repeatedly blows crimes and incidents out of proportion until the entire society is somewhat controlled. Stuart Hall, in his book, Policing the Crisis explained that the media, in conjunction with the bourgeoisie, create moral panics in order to perpetrate fear and maintain control over society, as a whole. (Hall, 2013, s. 1) Moral panics are created as a hazard and rising threat to shock both society and culture into changing the way it thinks and acts about problems in the real world. In this essay, moral panics will be looked at in detail with a specific interest in the case of James Bulger. There will too, be a focus on the influence the media,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Marx established the Elite Engineered Model which encompasses the ruling elite manufacturing certain panics to instil fear in society and divert it away from the real problems they are having. In the scenario of the James Bulger murder, those with high ranking in society involved in the case, for example, police, detectives, press and politicians, created the moral panic of the murder in an attempt to divert the public s opinion away from the shocking crime of two young boys, just 10 years old, not just abducting a toddler from a busy shopping centre in Liverpool, but also killing him in the most vicious way and dumping his body on train tracks in an attempt to cover up what had happened. This is not the behaviour of children; it is the behaviour of evil. Particularly due to the age of the killers, the ferociousness of the crime and the age of the victim, the mass media reports allowed the public to get personally and emotionally involved in the case and have severe anger and resentment towards the children who murdered James Bulger. The public outcry was huge and, the decision by the politicians and press ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Why Do People Use Personal Stereos Bull also states that The belief that urban subjects are subjects in retreat has become a core explanatory frame work or everyday urban environment experienced as being inhabited by strangers and hence dangerous. This is typical of visual explanations of urban behaviour that locate motivation completely in terms of supposed responses to the environment. (Bull 2000, p.137) this links very well to the idea of people using their personal stereos as a way to block others out. When travelling on public transport you are in a way trapped in a small place with strangers as the quote states. I would like to see if this is why so many people use their headphones and personal stereos as a barrier to separate themselves from others while travelling ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Forming is when the group first meet up and is getting to know each other. During the forming stage members usually introduce themselves and give a brief introduction about their likes dislikes and interest. The members usually discuss what role each person will perform, by now the group should have a group leader who should be in attendance making sure the meeting is running smoothly. • 7. Unteaching The Five Paragraph Essay By Marie Foley Analysis Unteaching The Five Paragraph essay by Marie Foley is a light hearted but argumentive piece focusing on the way most school aged children are taught to write. Foley s main point comes down to the very first words in the essay; The five paragraph formula confuses and alienates students and undermines our most basic goals as writinginstructors. Foley believes that by teaching children to write in a formulated manner we are not letting them explore and learn through their own writing. We are instead giving them the freedom to discontinue the thought process once they feel that the essaythey have produced meets the formula standards they have been kept to, and refuse to part with. Allende and Peter Winn s Weavers of Revolution Essay Allende and Peter Winn s Weavers of Revolution In Peter Winn s Weavers of Revolution, a factory in Santiago, Chile fights for their independence against the Chilean government of the 1970 s. While this rebellion is going on, presidential elections are taking place and Salvador Allende is the presidential candidate which represents the common people. The relation between Allende and the people he represents is a unique one because at first this class, the working class, helps and supports Allende to become president, but then both parties realize their different plans for the future and the working class actually contributes to the downfall of Allende s presidency. At first, the working class heavily supported Allende s campaign. A ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Allende based his campaign around the unfairness of Chile s society to the working class, and the Yarur factory gave him the support he needed to win the election. Once Allende becomes elected, the two revolutions which were supposed to compliment each other actually start to work against each other. The first type of revolution is the revolution from below , which is characteristic of the workers in the Yarur rebelling against the Chilean government. The other type is the revolution from above , this was the revolution common of the higher class like Allende working towards workers rights. At first, the workers think that their revolution from below was only helping Allende s revolution from above. The workers did things like form unions for the first time, or were even so bold to strike against the mill in order to gain complete control over it. Strikes had happened before which were about things like wages or unions, but this was different for the fact that they wanted total control of the mill. Allende was forced to give the workers the power to control the mill. This is just one of the examples of how the revolution from below sometimes coincided with or complemented, but increasingly diverged from, the legalistic and modulated revolution from above (141). For the most part in fact, the strategies of Allende were disrupted by the revolution from below because of their need for extreme ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Cultural Construction in Nigerian youth Alliance Notwithstanding being an immigration organization originated by and sustained by Nigerian immigrants, the members at Nigerian youth Alliance are more than what they look like in the surface. Even though they are immigrants in the United States, they have integrated into American culture and hold a concept of morals not controlled by ethnocentrism. • 10. The Mythology Of The Iliad In The Iliad, the Olympian Gods were depicted as a group of individuals who were still completely vulnerable to mistake and harm despite their great power. Zeus was one, if not the biggest and most powerful God among all other Gods. Known as the King of the Gods, Zeus was a mighty, dominant, and seemingly supreme God, despite his tendency to show surprising silliness and sometimes, the lack of wisdom through his choices, especially when it came to love affairs, which eventually led to many problems that could have been prevented. Zeus, in The Iliad, Zeus is a representation of how ancient Gods were just normal humans equipped with a great degree of power and capabilities, but they have the tendency to show humanly behavior and mistakes. In the Homer s Iliad, Gods are very susceptible to human desire. At some point, Gods can act more human than actual humans would act. They would think, act, speak, and do other things just like a human being. The only thing that seems to differ Gods and human is their immortality, power and authority over things. Compared to the gods found in Abrahamic religions, Greek Gods base their decisions and action without principle but feelings and their personal opinion. Greek God are known to be capricious, prone to arguments over insignificant things, showing a very close relationship with human behavior. These characteristics of Greek Gods are probably generated due to the lack of need to thrive and survive since they are immortal and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

While there are many natures of evil throughout the world, the reoccurrence of social injustice throughout previous generations have laid the foundation for many writers in the early twentieth century. Authors Flannery O Connor and Shirley Jackson grew up in the thick of racial diversity that America was enduring. The Lotteryand A Good Man is Hard to Findhelp exemplify the importance of moral and natural eviland its effects on the world by using traditional and untraditional forms of these immoral actions. In A Good Man is Hard to Find there are two main characters who fit the description of evil. Whether it is the pretentious grandmother or the unlawful Misfit, O Connor touches upon the violence and grotesque that she witnessed in her youth (O Connor). The grandmother is a woman who grew up during the times when racial diversity was more prevalent and clearly was brought up by a successful family. A little sympathy could be shown towards the grandmother since most of the narrative is through her eyes, but like The Misfit she has cruel intentions. The sophisticated lifestyle she lived isolated her from all the harshness in the world and led to her to believe that her way is always right. This is until The Misfit approaches her and his acquaintance takes the remaining family to the woods to be murdered. The Misfit has his own internal logic leading him to believe he is killing because that is what makes him happy, not because he is blood thirsty. In fact, he is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Electric cars are efficient because its energy efficient, cheaper power cost and less energy are wasted in the process. Electric cars are energy efficient because it uses all the energy it only needs to run the vehicle. Unlike conventional cars which still needs to convert energy by burning fuel, electric cars are charge using electricity which is directly used to run the car. The use of electricity make electric cars more efficient because electricity is cheaper than fuel in some countries. In a study done by National Association of Convenience Stores (NACS), the prices of fuel are said to be on the raise in the next few year because of the increase in demand on fuel and the decrease in the oil reserve. Fuel will become as expensive as gold. The market for fuel powered cars will soon decline in the increase in oil prices. Unlike fuel, electricity can be produce with renewable energy through wind turbines, hydroelectric plants and other more. What has surprised a lot of people is that anti lock brakes are not reducing the frequency or cost of accidents. This is the case despite the obvious benefits of antilock brakes in test situations. The reason why anti locks are not making the expected and much projected difference is because many driverslack the knowledge and experience need to use ABS (Anti lock Braking System) effectively. I. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... II. What Anti lock brakes do and don t do Many car owners don t know how to use antilock brakes effectively and the manuals that come with their automobiles offer little help. Some of the manuals don t spell out how using antilock brakes is different from using regular brakes. Some manufacturers provide no instructions at all. Traditionally, drivers are trained to brakegently on slippery roads or to pump their brakes to avoid a skid. But it is firm, continuous brake pressure that is required to activate anti locks, which should never be pumped. This is exactly what the antilock feature does for the driver automatically, it pumps the brakes many times a second. With the driver pumping antilock brakes during a skid, braking effectiveness may be reduced to the point of not having brakes at all. Because of misconceptions about the circumstances in which antilock brakes can help, it s useful to review what they can and cannot do. In normal braking, a vehicle slows as its wheels are gradually brought to a stop. Without antilock brakes, hard or emergency braking will cause the wheels to lock before the vehicle comes to a halt. In this case, some or all of the tires skid along the road. How the vehicle skids depends on the coefficient of friction, or drag factor, between the tires and the road surface. A vehicle may skid forward in a straight line or it may ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

His willingness allows him to participate in some of the most iconic American events in the 1960s and 1970s. Throughout the film, Forrest serves in the Vietnam War, masters table tennis, met erstwhile presidents, opens a shrimp business, and even journeys across the country. Above everything else, the character played by Tom Hankswants to marry his childhood sweetheart, Jenny Curran, who he always cared about. It is left up to the reader to define the characteristics that makes one king good or another king bad. One may see a good king as one who is fair to his subjects. Someone else may see a king who is powerful towards his enemies as the greatest characteristic of a good ruler. Shakespeare touches on many of these aspects of leadership that readers may see as the defining characteristic of being a strong monarch. Factors That Impact Pay Inequity Assessment of the Factors that Impact Pay Inequity in America Name Institution Assessment of the Factors that Impact Pay Inequity in America The widening inequality in income has progressively grown to become a defining challenge in the contemporary society. Now more than ever, the gap that exists between the rich and the poor is at its all time high in decades, particularly in the developed economies. Emerging markets and developing countries (EMDCs) have more mixed inequality trends where some countries have seen drops in levels of inequality, but pervasive inequality trends continue to remain in access to vital sectors like healthcare, education, and finance. The degree of inequality, therefore, does not come as a surprise, nor the driving forces behind it, and the possible solutions to the problem are currently some of the most fiercely debated issues by researchers and policy makers alike. A great number of literature points to the fact that there is a considerable discrepancy in the wage structure in the United States. Wage differential determined by educational level, gender, socio economic status, race or ethnicity and technical factors like experience; in particular, all rose significantly. Likewise, other determinants like the residual wage that is the dispersion of wage within a skill or demographic group also increased simultaneously. Immanuel Kant On Moral Education Paper One: Kant on Moral Education Jennifer Penkov: 1345217 Phil 444, Dr Alan McLuckie Friday, February 12, 2016 Word Count: 1, 567 This paper will focus on Kant s account of a moral education as found in his Lectures on Pedagogy. It will begin by discussing why Kant believed that education, specifically moral education, is necessary for a human being to realize her Bestimmung (destiny), but not necessary for non rational animals to reach their natural vocations. It will analyze the role a moral education (the general development of morality) plays in becoming human and will continue by outlining the structure and key points of Kant s hypothetical moral educational system. Finally this paper will highlight possible conflict between education and autonomy (a concept vital to his broader moral philosophy) but will ultimately argue that moral education is compatible with the notion of the intelligible self. Kant makes it explicit in his work that the human being is the only creature that requires education to reach its natural destiny. In order to fully make sense of this notion, it is first necessary to briefly discuss the twofold nature of the human self as explained in Critique of Pure Reason and developed in Groundwork for the Metaphysics of Morals. The human being is thought of as participating in both the empirical and intelligible realms. The empirical self is sensual and determined, in that it participates in the natural world and is governed by the laws of nature ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Donald Finkel s The Great Wave Off Kanagawa The Great Wave: Hokusai by Donald Finkel is a poem written about The Great Wave Off Kanagawa , an artwork produced from 1831 to 1833 by Katsushika Hokusai during the Edo period.
