Application Of A Temperature Controller
CHAPTER 2
LITERATURE REVIEW
Background
A temperature controller is an indispensable component when processing transmission in optical fiber
in order to acquire accurate results. The optical IC should be operated in a stable environment,
including temperature, fixed construction and no other external interference. Thus, providing a
constant temperature and steady working environment is priority task for the temperature controller.
The controller mentioned in this thesis is required to realize several functions: maintain the metal
which directly connected to the photonic IC chip at 25°c, and keep this temperature for long hours.
Although this controller is designed for lab use, there are no any power shortage issues for
temperature controller, however due to sustainability, the power supply is expected to be natural
resources.
Further researching is needed on several components to develop the temperature controller and that
will be discussed in the next section. The correct cooler system, microcontroller and LCD are the
major components that need to be selected according to design constraints. The final project will be
low cost and auto tuning which is an automated process based on the temperature gap. This controller
needs to respond quickly in a short time when temperature is transmitting. Temperature Sensor for

Exploring Federal Legislation Case Study
Exploring Federal Legislation and Relations
Forming a Union at Carmel Partners Currently Carmel Partners is an organization that does not have
an organized union or any labor representation. The employees are all hired and work on an at will
basis. Should a labor relations organization convince the Carmel employees to unionize the following
federal agencies would have an impact on the labor relations process at Carmel:
1. United States Department of Labor Management Standards is responsible for administering and
enforcing the Labor Management Reporting and Disclosure Act of 1959 (LMRDA). This agencies
ensures that the laws such as requirement for reporting between employers and labor relations
organization is done correctly. They also ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
(Reese, 2004) In addition, they made a closed shop illegal, and mandated that union had an obligation
to bargain in good faith. The final two changes prohibited unions from encouraging boycotts and
unions were not allowed to charge excessive dues or initiation fees and could not participate in the
practice of featherbedding, or causing an employer to pay for work not performed (Reese, 2004).
Employers now had the right to speak out against unions as long as the speech did not contain threats
or promises to the employees (Reese, 2004). States were now allowed to put right to work laws in
place, which made it illegal to set union membership as a condition for employment (Reese, 2004)
Carmel being located in Colorado and California (both right to work states) is impacted by this law in
the regard that employees are hired on an at will basis, and there is no protection for the employee job
security based on seniority, performance or for any other reason. Basically it means that there is no
contract between the employer and the employee to guarantee the employee has to work for the
employer or that the employer has to continue to provide a job to the employee in the private sector.

Concert Paper
On Wednesday, November 30th at 7:30 p.m, I attended The Lebanon Valley College Chamber
Orchestra and String Chamber Ensembles . It took place at the Lutz Hall. This hall is located at the
Blair Music Center (LVC). It can fit up to 500 people. This time there was about 50 60 people. For this
event, the hall was not decorated as I expected. It had a camera in the middle, recording the concert
and that s about it. The stage was big, it fit the 26 members of the orchestra comfortably.
Entering the hall, there was a guy with the programs on his hand. He was very sympathetic. He
handed one (program) to everyone that came in. Inside the program, there was the performances the

performances. The first performance was Mc Mozart s Eine kleine bricht Moonlicht Nicht Musik by
Teddy Bor. This performance lasted for about four minutes. It had a total of four members. Two girls
and two boys. Two of them played the violin, one the viola and the other one the cello. Since this was
the opening of the concert I thought they were going to play something longer. They also didn t have
an intro, which surprised me a little bit. But the overall performance was great. It was very calm and
relaxing and everyone seemed to enjoy it. There were four other performances. Five Sketches for
string trio Op.23, Quintet in d minor, Concerto Grosso Op 3, No. 4 in F major and the last one was
Symphony No. 104 in F Major (London). All of them were not that long. I noticed that on the last two
performances they added more people. On the Concerto Grosso there was 15 members in total and on
the Symphony there was 26. After each performance there was a break . On that break all they did was
prep the stage for the others. Some of the things they did was, add/ remove chairs and music

The s Usage Of Chance And Coincidence As The Mode Of...
Lermontov s usage of chance and coincidence as the mode of expression of fate can be seen explicitly
in Princess Mary and The Fatalist, both short stories from Pechorin s journal. Princess Mary retells the
story of the time that Pechorin spent in the town of Pyatigorsk, a spa town located in the Caucases. In
Pyatigorsk, Pechorin encounters an old acquaintance of his, Grushnitsky, who Pechorin secretly
dislikes despite his veil of friendship. Also present in the town are Princess Ligovskaya and her
daughter, the titular Princess Mary. Princess Ligovskaya and Princess Mary are very wealthy and
normally live in Moscow, where they live as eminent socialites. Grushnitsky is instantly captivated by
the young Princess Mary and gradually ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Pechorin, now anxious at the probability of his survival, loses the toss and thus stations himself on the
edge of the cliff. Pechorin, now doubting that he will survive, gazes upon Grushnitsky with a degree
of aristocratic fear, waiting for Grushnitsky to shoot. However as Grushnitsky stands just six paces
from the unarmed Pechorin, he loses his resolve to kill and exclaims, I can t do it (Lermontov 123).
Yet he turns back toward Pechorin and fires capriciously, merely grazing Pechorin s knee and causing
him no harm. Knowing that Grushnitsky s second did not load his pistol, Pechorin has the pistol
loaded and proceeds to kill the unrepentant Grushnitsky.
Chance and Coincidence are thus used by Lermontov as the mode of expression of Fate in Princess
Mary. It was not fated for Pechorin to die at the hand of Grushnitsky, thus chance compelled
Grushnitsky to lose his will to kill Pechorin. Additionally, chance causes Grushnitsky s random shot at
Pechorin to merely graze Pechorin s leg. Because Pechorin was not predestined to die in this duel,
everything unfolded precisely the way it needed to in order to insure Pechorin s continued well being.
Conversely, the events of the duel occurred in such a way that assured Grushnitsky s death, illustrating
his predestination to die during the duel. Firstly, Pechorin would not have been able to shoot
Grushnitsky if he did not know that a bullet had not been loaded into his gun. Pechorin only gained

The Theme of Social Responsibility in Victorian England Essay
How does dickens explore the theme of social responsibility in
Victorian England?
Charles dickens wrote A Christmas Carol for a certain reason, and that reason was that he wanted to
make people aware of the terrible situation the children of the poor were in. He visited a school in
1843 and was appalled by what he saw there. It was a school for the poorest children to teach them
basic reading and writing skills. The children s employment commission had also shocked him. At
first dickens had the idea of writing a pamphlet called an appeal to the people of England on behalf of
the poor mans child but soon realised that seen as he was the most popular novelist of the time people
would take much more notice he wrote about the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

1889. The upper and middle class lived very near to unbelievable poverty and filth. The poor street
sweepers attempt to keep the streets clean of manure. There were pickpockets, prostitutes, drunks,
beggars and vagabonds of every kind to add to the everyday life of
Victorian London.
Up until the second half of the 19th century people were still drinking water from the Thames in
which raw sewage flowed into, causing several outbursts of cholera along with the great stink of
1958, the disease and sewage in the drinking water made a link with
Dr. John to find that all the victims of the cholera outbreak was connected with the same water pump.
A plan was put together by Sir
Joseph Bazalgette, completed in 1875, which finally provided adequate sewers to serve the city.
A new law was put into place the new poor law enacted in 1834.
Before it had been burden of all the parishes to take care of the poor. The new law required that all the
parishes worked together to create regional workhouses where aid could be applied for. The
workhouse was little more than a prison for the poor.
Victorian children worked in manufactories. They worked long hard hours to satisfy the needs of the
parents because the families were so poor. The conditions of employment were terrible. They didn t

Should Child Soldiers Be Granted Amnesty Essay
Child soldiers should be granted amnesty. The reason child soldiers should be considered as victims
are because they are forced into labor, drugged, and threatened into service. Many of these child
soldiers, after being rescued and rehabilitated, are able to be adopted into loving families and lead
normal lives. However, those who are sent back to where they became child soldiers will surely
commit those crimes again.
The first reason that child soldiers should be considered as victims are that they are drugged. In many
cases, after the child is taken away from their family, the warlords and their older soldiers will give the
children drugs such as cocaine, marijuana and narcotics to make them more obedient. In the case of a
boy named Ishmael Beah, he was forced into service by government soldiers through threats, cocaine

Compare And Contrast Juir 3 And Juror 8
This play by Reginald Rose was very dramatic. In this courtroom, there was a case about a young man
that is guilty or innocent of murdering his father. This case consisted of a group of twelve jurors.
These twelve jurors had so much about themselves that was alike and in some ways they were all
different.
In this case, the juror 3 and juror 8 are very different. Juror 3 appears to be a very intolerant person
also he is known as a bully. On the other hand juror, 8 is an open minded individual that always listens
to someone before speaking his part in something. Juror 3 also believes whatever I say I m always
right and nobody could correct me or tell me something that proves him wrong. For example, What s

Hidden Depths In Will Smith s Life
Hidden Depths After analyzing the text from Will Smith s life it is clear to me that the characteristics
he had can be characterized as a cross between ego and super ego. In my opinion by analyzing Will
Smith s personal life it is clear to see that he puts the priorities of others before his needs. He obeys to
the social norms and in my opinion has no representation of an ID Factor. A perfect example of this is
looking at his life with his children. Will Smith puts the needs of his family before himself. Thus in
this one particular time when he was on tour he had opportunities to be unfaithful to his family
however he decided that it was not logical two act on his instincts or urges. Throughout the book it
appears that I can find a few defensive mechanisms used in Will Smith s life however the two
prominent ones that can be seen in my opinion would be denial and sublimation. The first clear
example of this can be seen and Will ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It can be seen that in Will Smith s life that he is looking for the affection and approval of others. This
can be seen in a particular events of Will s childhood of being a jokester and striving to be the center

in his life as the relationships he had with Sheree Zampino and father a son named Williard III.
However, this marriage would be short lived as Will would get divorce and remarry to an actress
named Jada Pinket. This relationship created two children named Jaden and Willow. The idea behind
these relationships emphasize a neurotic relationship the partner may be seen as a person who will
also solve all problems, maybe even saving the neurotic person from their issues or themselves. This
can cause a dysfunctional theme that is seen in Will Smith s marriage with Sheree

Bookstore Cafe Ethnographic Observation Essay

spaces have become areas for multifunction activities. Along with the availability of gourmet coffee,

Patrons like myself stood in line scanning the café for empty tables and available seats. The
arrangement of the tables in this area allowed for more seating flexibility and appeared to lower social
boundaries between customers while encouraging interaction between members of cliques and
individual patrons. Armed with my laptop and cappuccino, my observations occurred from an empty
table in the center of the café. I felt at ease in this setting, as there were many more customers like
myself, sitting alone reading, typing away on their laptops, writing in yellow pads or studying. Being
in plain sight in a public environment, I assumed the role of a participant observer despite feeling a
little unsure about the landscape of this assignment and insecure about my field note taking
capabilities. As I settled in, I spotted a few neighboring customers who were about to get comfortable
in their seats. A young man sitting nearby with his laptop cover still closed, stated, I come here quite
often. WIFI is free, the service is great, I plug my earphones and in an hour I get a lot more work done
here than at home with the kids . Another regular customer stated, This is where people come in

Literacy Is The Way We Identify With And Comprehend The World
Literacy, in my eyes, is the way we identify with and comprehend the world and the various works of
literary value. From the beginning of my existence, I believe my literacy has compounded upon itself
to bring me to my present state. I will measure my different literacy stages in parallel with the type of
schooling I went through (i.e. elementary, middle, and high school). As my literary power grew, the
significance at which it held to me personally, also rose. Therefore, I will be measuring the direct
relationship between the significance and power of my personal literacy. Within the time frame of my
elementary school years, I was able to develop the basic foundation for a long lasting literacy skill.
Directing the attention towards reading, I can trace those roots back to the days of early computer
games. For example, when I was a wee lad, I did not have a computer at my house, so I went to my
grandma s house and used her computer. While on the computer I discovered a little game by the
name of Putt Putt. The game involved the following of Putt Putt, a tiny purple car, and his crusade to
save those who are in troublesome situations such as losing their shovel. The experience initiated the
way I read as it engaged me in a fun and interesting way to understand a story while also learning key
words and effectively creating a comprehension. The little snippets of plot allowed me to read along
with the narrator, as well as providing some sections where critical thinking

Meglinide Research Paper
Class III: Meglitinides
The meglitinides are short acting drugs. They are similar to sulfonylureas in that they augment insulin
secretion or insulin release from pancreatic beta cells. They are only slightly less effective than
sulfonylureas in reducing glycemia. They are not sulfonylureas and can be used in patients allergic to
sulfonylureas. They cause less hypoglycemia as compared to sulfonylureas .They have a similar risk
for weight gain though as the sulfonylureas.
The 2 meglitinides that are available are Repaglinide and Nateglinide.

Do Not Go Gentle Into That Night By Dylan Thomas
In 1957 Dylan Thomas published a poem called Do Not Go Gentle into That Night. While reading the
poem towards the end you find out that this poem was not only about the inevitable death that one
faces at the end of life, but also that this poem was for his dying father. In this poem Thomas uses a
form of poetry called villanelle to intertwine many themes, as well as, symbolism and imagery to draw
the reader into a sensory experience. Villanelle is a very structured form of poetry that was originated
in the french language before it was introduced to the english language. It consists of nineteen lines of
poetry and it is divided into six stanzas, it is composed of five three lined stanzas and one four lined
stanza. Villanelles also have a very specific rhyme pattern The first and third lines of the first tercet
rhyme with each other, and this rhyme is repeated through each of the next four tercets and in the last
two lines of the concluding quatrain, this could also be called a refrain (Glossary A13). Dylan follows
the scheme very well using the rhyme aba aba aba aba aba abaa. While Dylan follows the poetry form
to a T he also is able to incorporate many themes into his poem. One of which, being a very obvious
one already stated, mortality. Even though death is inevitable, Dylan suggest that people should fight
against the odds to redeem themselves, Rage, rage against the dying of the light (Thomas 3). He uses
the dying of the light to describe the sunset which is

The Teaching of the Roman Catholic Church and Their Influence on People s Views on Abortion
The R.C Church teaches that all human life is sacred. The word sacred means devoted or help
especially acceptable to a deity. Both the old and new testaments teach that human life is sacred and
should not be terminated. God created life in his image and each one of us is like him. To kill a human
being is like killing a part of god and this has greatly influenced the teachings of the R.C Church about
abortion.

The R.C Church states in the declaration on procured abortion 1974 that respect for human life is not
just the Christian duty respect for life is integral to the stability of the human race . The church teaches
… never under any excuse may abortion be resorted to either by family or by the political authority as
means of regulating birth
Gaudium et spes (the document of Vatican II) states life must be protected with the utmost care from
the moment of conception; abortion and infanticide are abominable crimes.
The churches teachings are clear; abortion is the direct and intentional killing of an unborn child .
From the moment of conception a potential human being exists this sacredness of life is developed by
the church in her documents Humanae Vitae by Paul VI and Familiaris Consortio. It is clear from the
above teachings which originates in the pages of both the old and new testaments that the foetus is a

Marxists theory to the sociological understanding of crime...
Assess the contribution of the Marxist theory to the sociological understanding of crime and deviance.
(21 marks) Marxism is a macro/structural approach to society, meaning that it looks at the large scale
societal structure for answers about how society works and operates and explores crime and deviance
in relation to classes within a capitalist society. Marxists claim that laws do not reflect a value
consensus, instead laws and law enforcement benefits the rich (protection of private property), and
discriminate the poor which brings about social class reproduction, the working class are criminalised
for their crimes but the criminal just system are more lenient towards the crimes of the wealth such as
white collar crime or ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Pearce also explores how white collar crime is hidden from the masses and this puts them in a state of
false consciousness so they do not see the full extent of the white collar crime, this is ideological
social control, this is often linked to the media which often portrays stereotypes and demonises the
poor as criminals. Chambliss looks into selective law enforcement, at the heart of the legal system in
the protection of private property, this ensures that the ruling class maintain their wealth, which leads
to social class reproduction. All social groups commit crime, but it is the poor who are targeted by the
criminal justice system. This is linked to stereotypes where the police target deprived groups in
deprived areas e.g. stop and search. There are many strengths and weaknesses to the Marxist
approach, such as it explores law making as well as law breaking, it examines selective law
enforcement so looks into the discrimination of the working class. They also highlight the idea of
social control and how police are more likely to stop and search people based on stereotypes that are
displayed in the media which can also be linked with the labelling theory. However there are some

The Importance Of Government Censorship On Social Media
In an age where more and more people are using social media for both personal and professional
reasons, there is an increasing amount of government censorship, as well as self censorship, evident
on widely used social media platforms. After conducting research on this topic, I have discovered the
very fine line between using social networking sites for personal uses versus professional uses.
According to scholars, while only 47% of nonacademics use social media for professional purposes,
about 91% of university faculty members use social networking sites in class or for other professional
reasons (Moran, Seaman, Tinti Kane, 2011). Professionals, particularly academic professionals, have
to keep a squeaky clean presence on social media. In this paper, I will discuss my research regarding
self censorship on social media, government intervention and censorship and what that means for the
American principle of free speech, and tell some stories of individuals who have personal experiences
with these problems.
Freedom of speech is a basic right in America, granted to citizens by the Frist Amendment to the
Constitution of the United States. Many countries do not have laws protecting free speech, and in fact
have censorship laws that do the exact opposite. Many Americans as well as other people around the
world use social media as a means of expressing their own views and opinions on topics such as
politics, world news, social justice issues, and simply to express themselves as

The God Yhwh In The Book Of The Bible
The god Yhwh goes through many changes throughout the books of the hebrew bible. For example, in
the book of Genesis, Yhwh makes the entire earth, but when Eve takes food from the tree of
knowledge, he is angry because she gained knowledge of right and wrong. He seems a little bit jealous
here because he punishes them for becoming more like him. This is shown when it says, Then Lord
God said, Behold, the man has become like one of us, knowing good and evil; and now lest he put
forth his hand and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever therefore the Lord god sent
him forth from the garden of eden, to till the ground from which he was taken. (28) In exodus Yhwh
becomes very ruthless. The punishment for most crimes he talks about is death. Back then this may
have seemed okay, but now putting someone to death for hitting his parent is a bit extreme. In the end
he says, And if he cries to me, I will hear, for I am compassionate. (33) like it makes up for the cruel
punishments he just laid out. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Yhwh seems much more compassionate in this book like when he says, When a stranger sojourns with
you in your land, you shall nor do him wrong. The stranger who sojourns with you shall be to you as
the native among you, and you shall love him as yourself... (34) Similarly, in Deuteronomy Yhwh
talks more about being fair to other people and lays down rules for how you should treat people in the
court, and in life. This example is best seen when Yhwh states, You shall not oppress a hired servant
who is poor and needy, whether he is one of your brethren or one of the sojourners who are in your

Explain Why The Kennewick Man Was Native American
Carl Zimmer s article, New DNA results show the Kennewick Man was Native American focuses on a
discovery made by two men wading in the Columbia River July of 1996. These two men had stumbled
upon a skull (and after later excavation a complete skeleton) of a mysterious figure over 8,500 years
old. Along with this discovery came a multitude of controversy as to where the skeleton had come
from, and thereby, who had the rights to his remains. Recent DNA testing was released this past year
that suggested that the Kennewick Man had been a Native American, contrary to other beliefs that he
had been European. However, while it may be assumed that this discovery would conclude law suits
concerning the remains, the dispute continues. Native American history is very rich and not a lot is
known about it scientifically due to the deep mistrust between Native Americans and scientists (the
Kennewick Man being a single example). Therefore new programs are being established, such as the
Summer Internship for Native Americans in Genomic, to administer training to Native Americans so
they can learn about their own history. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, a huge part of studying the present is to study the past. Without the past we have no baseline
for present research. Therefore the Kennewick Man has become an important addition in
comprehending the migration of mankind into North and South America. Hence, I find the study of
biology in collaboration with anthropology/ history extremely interesting. The concept that people in
our modern world can interpret the lifestyles and cultures of those who lived thousands of years ago

versus Harvard the subjects that they debated about deal with racial discrimination, inequality, and
human civil rights mistreatments. Throughout the movie there is racist acts happening around and
against not only the students and Mr. Tolson but the whole African American community. Although
this movie is based on a true story it happened a little different in history, instead of Wiley College
going head to head with Harvard University they actually debated against University of Southern
California who at that time was defending champions. They ended up defeating the defending
champions and it was a big deal because in this time it was a lot of discrimination between the whites
and the blacks. This movie relates to the real world as far as it mimicking true events that happened in

U.s. Labor Policy Proposal Essay
Labor Policy Proposal

Institution
Introduction Many people have no idea of what they expect to achieve after retirement when asked
about their retirement plans. The government s policies about retirement do not cater for the well
being of retirees creating a lot of worry for the life after employment. The increasing number of
employees demanding cover by government pension programs and the current decline in the
retirement income levels contributes to the change of the American pension landscape (Heiland and
Li, 2012). The United States of America developed labor laws during the time when the country s
economy was independent and self contained. The main aim of U.S. labor policy was to get rid of
different challenges affecting employees and improve their lifestyle in order to enjoy working in a
suitable environment. Additionally, the labor policy aimed at protecting American workers by law and
protecting certain human rights. According to Dugas (2013), despite the growing economy in U.S.
more than 28 percent of American workers lack confidence with the current labor policy on
retirement. The research conducted by the Employment Benefit Research Institute (EBRI) in 2013
revealed that most workers are not sure of saving money for retirement. The above information calls
upon a recommendation of labor policy about retirement that would fulfill the demands of workers.
The proposed policy will bring change to the Public Employees Retirement Fund

The Full Effects of War Essay
War is one thing that we all know is a necessary evil. The United States has been involved in many
wars since being founded in the late 1700 s. There are many reasons that the United States has been
involved in, or is currently involved in wars. Although war is not always a popular thing to become a
part of, the full effects of the war are not always known and may never be known as long as the United
States is a country. Stephen Crane tells us that there are many effects of war in his poem War is Kind .

country can help out the soldiers is to fit them with the limb, or body parts that they have lost.

process of meeting the needs and wants of affluent clients by providing financial products and service.
Since ancient Roman senators hired financial advisers to lend out their money, people with wealth
have needed someone to manage it. High net worth individuals thus call upon wealth managers to help
them develop strategies of how to effectively manage their wealth. The term wealth management
started in 1933 and came into more use in the private client divisions of firms like Goldman Sachs and
Morgan Stanley. These firms formed divisions which were designed to deliver different services from
those offered to the mass market. Wealth managers provide clients with a wide range of services,
depending on the client s needs and the focus of the firm. Tax accounting: Financial advisors help
clients handle, complete and submit their taxes. Financial planning: Financial advisors provide advice
on how to reach future life and financial goals by providing information about investing, saving, taxes
and estate planning. Investing: Clients who want to invest seek the services of wealth managers for

Mr. Bea talks about British Petroleum, which is most known for its oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico. Bea
pointed to the congressional testimony, that BP ignored problems with a dead battery, leak cement job
and loose hydraulic fittings (Borenstein). Here, BP s excessive pride lead to improper thinking, BP
specifically thought that it could continue to ship and drill oil with a variety of known problems. In the
end, BP faced a lot of criticism and worst of all, the Gulf of Mexico is now perilously polluted with
oil. Many people like to believe that pride is something noble, something to treasure, but that is a false
truism. Pride will actually bring a person to make false judgments and thinking, which will lead to the
falling apart of the general public.

It was 1930 at the railhead on Fort Bragg; they had completed loading the equipment on the big black
iron monster of a train, and covering them with heavy black tarps, which they secured to the flatbeds.
Colonel Lambert was no longer running the combat train; he remained back in Washington D.C. with

the capital it was time for him to return to his duties. He placed Major Reese Sales in charge of this

Soldiers he was bringing with him from Bragg; they were there to operate the equipment they were
transporting. It would take a little over twelve hours to make it to the capital, another couple of hours
to unload everything, test it, and then get it into action. Both General Clayton and Colonel Lambert
were foaming at the mouth to get them there and into the fight. The train moved out at 1945 under the

Knowledge Is Power In The Invisible Man, By Ralph Ellison

Ms. Smith

Mind Does Not Matter
The Ghanaian Diplomat Kofi Annan once said, Knowledge is power. Information is liberating.
Education is the premise of progress, in every society, in every family . Although this phrase may
contain truth, our society has a long history where they heavily reject the notions of social
responsibility and social education. This is due to the fact that those in power are not able to see its
potential, as they themselves are without knowledge. Even though knowledge is often attributed to
success depending on convenience, certain time periods contained cruel and unusual treatment of a
large group of people based on a variety of prejudices. Using this perspective can help better
understand the message of the novel, The Invisible Man, by Ralph Ellison. The story follows the life
of a black man during the late 1920 s or early 1930 s, when racism was at its peak. In this novel, the
author uses literary elements to emphasize that knowledge and intelligence do not necessarily equal
power, but those who lack knowledge abuse their power. The author accomplishes this by showing us
the power of ignorance, and how feigning ignorance can lead to a sense of power.
Knowledge is seen as the polar opposite of ignorance. Hence, the narrator s speech in the beginning of
the novel is the first sign that ignorance plagues the majority of the characters in the novel. The author
shows this when the narrator attempts to present

Welch Mission Statement
Critical Analysis:
In order for corporations to be categorized winning corporations, there must be a set foundation that
allows the corporation and the agents inside it, to move as a cohesive unit towards one mission. A
clear mission is important because it is the base of the creation of a strategic plan in obtaining the
results desired by the corporation. It is much easier to map out the plan towards a clear, concrete, and
descriptive mission statement than one that can be misinterpreted by the employees making the calls
within the corporation. But for a company s mission and values to truly work together as a winning
proposition, they have to be mutually reinforcing (Welch 21). When the goal is not clear, it is hard to

Welch claims that anyone brought into the corporation should have the first two E s, the ones which
are characteristics of a candidate s personality, energy and energize. When energy is talked about, it is
the inner power of someone looking to do greater things, they are motivated and ready to work, while
energize is the capability to make people feel pumped up and ready to tackle a task and stay on
routine. These two qualities everyone in the corporation should have as well as intelligence (different
than education), maturity, and integrity. Choosing a manager can be tricky but there are more traits
that are needed in order to be a winning manager; the ability to foresight, authenticity, seeking the
smartest people to associate around, and resilience. An effective manager is extremely important
because they are the people who emphasize on the mission and make the goals a reality through their

Nationalism equals political and economic modernization [which] which really ends up being a
perverse trick. This equation serves to mobilize popular forces and galvanize a social movement, but
where does the movement lead and what interest does it serve? In most cases it involves a delegated
struggle, in which the modernization project also establishes in power the new ruling group that is
charged with carrying it out. The revolution is thus offered up, hands and feet bound, to the new
bourgeoisie (Hardt 133).
In essence, it is often merely the face of power that changes, and not actually the structures that make

Introduction: The heart is made up of cardiac muscles that are striated, involuntary, and contains
intercalated disks which consist of gap junctions that send electrical signals to the heart. In order for
contraction to occur in the heart, action potentials have to first move through the T tubules to the L
type calcium channels. The calcium used here is not used for contraction. From there, more calcium
comes in from outside the cell and binds with ryanodine receptor which causes the actual contraction
of the heart. Next, cross bridge cycling occurs and in order for contraction to end, calcium is
decreased by using ATP pumps to pump the calcium to the sarcoplasmic reticulum. In the heart, the
heartbeat is maintained by the pacemaker cells in the SA node. For it to maintain its heart rate, the SA
node is stimulated which causes an action potential to happen. The action potential goes quickly from
the top down and it continues through the AV node. The AV node is another pacemaker in the cell but
is slower than the SA node. It is also the only pathway where action potential can move from the atria
to the ventricle. From the AV node, it goes to the Bundle of His which then branches

taken the side of Kerensky Provisional Government because they were against a progressive
revolution and thought that the transformation must take a natural evolution toward socialism. Reed

Anatomy And Physiology Study Guide
1. Distinguish between anatomy and physiology
Anatomy is the study of the structure and shape for the body and its parts and their relationship to one
another. Anatomy is most commonly related to gross anatomical studies because in these studies
preserved animals and their organs are dissected and examined. And microscopic anatomy is the study
of body structures that can only be seen through a microscope. Physiology is the study of how the
body and its parts work or function. Physiology is similar to anatomy in a way that they have many
subdivisions. Physiology has; neurophysiology which explain the function of the nervous system. It
also has cardiac physiology which is the study of the heart. Anatomy and Physiology are related

Report on Important of Ethical Decision Making for the company As it was in the past, to do business
ethically today is very important to guarantee success. Do the right thing and not expose the company
into bad situations or possible lawsuits where the reputation and corporate image can be affected.
Make a business with the only goal of bringing money and forgetting the importance of ethical
principles has demonstrated that it only brings negative results. Why is important to have an ethical
decision making in our company? Because like every other business , we are exposed to multiple
situations in different levels of the organization with multiples dilemmas that need a resolution where

Constructive discharge, also called constructive dismissal occurs when an employee feels that his
working conditions are unfair and his rights are violated. Therefore, he is forced to resign. The
employee must have to resign soon after the incident as Mr. Dowlory did. Mr. Dowlory is trying to
demonstrate by a constructive discharge the violation of the law Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of
1991. His case is based on the statement that the new work schedule policy required him to work on
his religious holy day. However, as per my investigation and Human Resources records, Mr. Dowlory
never requested a reasonable accommodation for his religious beliefs and or practices. Facts: * The
company changed the Policy shift work because the business received a substantial increase in
production orders and is vital for the company to cover the new demand. * Religious Discrimination
amp; Reasonable Accommodation: The law requires an employer or other covered entity to reasonably
accommodate an employee s religious beliefs or practices, unless doing so would cause more than a
minimal burden on the operations of the employer s business. (US. EEOC 2010)To contest the claim
in court and respond to Mr. Dowlory I recommend the following : 1. Submit a statement of position to
Mr. Dowry showing evidence that he never

A Brief Summary On Abortion
PER REPORTER: Candace said she received a text today from her step son (Gabe) saying his
stepfather (Lee) threatened him with a knife today. According to Gabe, he got his progress report
today and was failing three classes which resulted in Marsha and Lee calling him into the room where
they were. He said when he went into the room Lee got upset with him and then threatened him with a
knife. He said his mother did not say or do anything about Lee threatening him with the knife;
however, he said his mother and his brother (Landis) were both in the room when Lee threatened him

A Brief Note On The Economic Sector That Supports My...
¬ Describe which economic sector you and/or your family provided employment: primary, secondary,
or tertiary. The economic sector that supports my family is in the tertiary sector. This sector as defined
is encompasses economic activities related to delivering services such as health care or entertainment
and to creating and distributing information. I work in the technology field that provided application
that are used to enable better access to websites for individuals with disabilities. My wife work in an
educational setting that provided stable, nurturing and a learning environment to young children. The
type of work my wife and I engage in have provided us the opportunity to be financial secure and
provides a sense of pride. We feel that our work allows us to connect with individuals we otherwise
would not have and our work also gives us a sense of purpose in that we are contributors to society
and our community as a whole. ¬ Discuss how debt (safe, stupid, and/or survival) has impacted your
life. Debt the amount of money you owe. Debt has been both negative and positive for me. From a
negative perspective debt has reduced the amount of money I have to spend on my family and it has
taken more money out of our savings because of the interest needing to be paid if the debt is in the
form of credit card. Debt has also cause my credit sore to be reduced because of larger balances on my
cards. Additionally, the biggest negative impact is not having the credit

The Farm Of Many Faces
The Farm of Many Faces Polyface Farm is a sustainable, organic based farm located in Shenandoah
Valley, Virginia. It currently is run by four generations of the Salatin family, but the man with the most
influence is Joel Salatin, who was named the worlds most innovative famer by Time Magazine. Joel
and his family took some extremely eroded and worn out land and transformed it into the innovative,
high field, symbiotic based farm it is today through their unconventional ways. Today they serve
upwards to 6000 families, 25 restaurants, and 10 retail outlets all within a four hour radius, to keep it
local and within their food shed.
This isn t the first time I ve read and talked about Polyface Farm and each time I genuinely enjoy

Polyface holds very similar values to both the farms within The Good Life and The Dirty Life. The
Nearing s weren t too big on the idea of feeding the community as much as they were in to self
sufficiency, but they did heavily rely on the natural system with in their way of life; planning
everything according to seasons and relying on organics. They also believed in the importance of
educating on the subject and allowed people to come, stay, and learn, just like the Salatins. The Essex
Farm has much more in common principles wise. Kristen and Mark s goal was that they wanted to
feed their community good, clean, healthy food, just like the Salatins. Kristen and Mark achieved this
through sustainable practices and dedication to what they love. They maintained their CSA without
advertisement and also focused on the importance of soil health just like the Polyface farm does. I
believe that the Polyface farm is different in a sense that they have dedicated most of their efforts into
creating and maintaining the symbiotic system that occurs within the farm, in contrast to the farms in
The Good life and The Dirty Life.
On Polyface, community is such an important aspect towards the Salatins goals; to provide good
quality food to their food shed. The members who buy from the Salatins are all located within 4 hours
of the farm in order to keep their products local. They refuse to mail products so instead they

To What Extent Is Propaganda To Deceive People In Animal...
A belief is something that someone chooses to agree with because he thinks it is right. He has his own
beliefs because he makes his own decisions. However, some people think that people can influence
each others decisions, and although this is true, an influence is not completely taking over what
someone believes in. For example, Eric Hoffer once said, Propaganda does not deceive people; it
merely helps them to deceive themselves. Propaganda, biased news, will always influence people, but
it does not have enough power to gain total control of someone s beliefs. People change their minds
and let other people alter their thoughts, but it is still that same person making his own decisions. As
portrayed in the novel Animal Farm by George Orwell, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The quote by Eric Hoffer, Propaganda does not deceive people; it merely helps them to deceive
themselves, means that when someone is introduced to something biased, he chooses to believe it
which harms himself. For example, when children see a toy that looks pretty and fun, they
immediately want that toy. The producers of the toy make the toy look appealing to children so their
parents would buy it for them even if the toy does not work. The children want the pretty toy so they
trick themselves into thinking it will fun to play with because of its appearance, but if it does not
work, it is the customer s fault for believing that the toy was worth buying. Another example is seeing
ads on television. They always show the beneficial effects of something but they do not show what
can go wrong. This makes the audience want to buy the product because they think it is perfect and
does not have any bad effects. The audience buys the product thinking it will only be a benefit to
them, when they probably wasted their money on a useless product. The people who decided to buy
this made their own decision to buy it and this is what the quote is saying. Some people will use
something to trick others, but that person is tricking themself by believing what the first person said.
People do not have to believe everything they see, but when they see something appealing to them,
they trick themselves by giving into

  • 2. Application Of A Temperature Controller CHAPTER 2 LITERATURE REVIEW Background A temperature controller is an indispensable component when processing transmission in optical fiber in order to acquire accurate results. The optical IC should be operated in a stable environment, including temperature, fixed construction and no other external interference. Thus, providing a constant temperature and steady working environment is priority task for the temperature controller. The controller mentioned in this thesis is required to realize several functions: maintain the metal which directly connected to the photonic IC chip at 25°c, and keep this temperature for long hours. Although this controller is designed for lab use, there are no any power shortage issues for temperature controller, however due to sustainability, the power supply is expected to be natural resources. Further researching is needed on several components to develop the temperature controller and that will be discussed in the next section. The correct cooler system, microcontroller and LCD are the major components that need to be selected according to design constraints. The final project will be low cost and auto tuning which is an automated process based on the temperature gap. This controller needs to respond quickly in a short time when temperature is transmitting. • 6. The s Usage Of Chance And Coincidence As The Mode Of... Lermontov s usage of chance and coincidence as the mode of expression of fate can be seen explicitly in Princess Mary and The Fatalist, both short stories from Pechorin s journal. Princess Mary retells the story of the time that Pechorin spent in the town of Pyatigorsk, a spa town located in the Caucases. In Pyatigorsk, Pechorin encounters an old acquaintance of his, Grushnitsky, who Pechorin secretly dislikes despite his veil of friendship. Also present in the town are Princess Ligovskaya and her daughter, the titular Princess Mary. Pechorin, now anxious at the probability of his survival, loses the toss and thus stations himself on the edge of the cliff. Pechorin, now doubting that he will survive, gazes upon Grushnitsky with a degree of aristocratic fear, waiting for Grushnitsky to shoot. However as Grushnitsky stands just six paces from the unarmed Pechorin, he loses his resolve to kill and exclaims, I can t do it (Lermontov 123). Yet he turns back toward Pechorin and fires capriciously, merely grazing Pechorin s knee and causing him no harm. Knowing that Grushnitsky s second did not load his pistol, Pechorin has the pistol loaded and proceeds to kill the unrepentant Grushnitsky. Chance and Coincidence are thus used by Lermontov as the mode of expression of Fate in Princess Mary. It was not fated for Pechorin to die at the hand of Grushnitsky, thus chance compelled Grushnitsky to lose his will to kill Pechorin. Additionally, chance causes Grushnitsky s random shot at Pechorin to merely graze Pechorin s leg. Because Pechorin was not predestined to die in this duel, everything unfolded precisely the way it needed to in order to insure Pechorin s continued well being. Conversely, the events of the duel occurred in such a way that assured Grushnitsky s death, illustrating his predestination to die during the duel. Charles dickens wrote A Christmas Carol for a certain reason, and that reason was that he wanted to make people aware of the terrible situation the children of the poor were in. He visited a school in 1843 and was appalled by what he saw there. It was a school for the poorest children to teach them basic reading and writing skills. The children s employment commission had also shocked him. • 13. Literacy Is The Way We Identify With And Comprehend The World Literacy, in my eyes, is the way we identify with and comprehend the world and the various works of literary value. From the beginning of my existence, I believe my literacy has compounded upon itself to bring me to my present state. I will measure my different literacy stages in parallel with the type of schooling I went through (i.e. elementary, middle, and high school). As my literary power grew, the significance at which it held to me personally, also rose. Therefore, I will be measuring the direct relationship between the significance and power of my personal literacy. Within the time frame of my elementary school years, I was able to develop the basic foundation for a long lasting literacy skill. Directing the attention towards reading, I can trace those roots back to the days of early computer games. For example, when I was a wee lad, I did not have a computer at my house, so I went to my grandma s house and used her computer. While on the computer I discovered a little game by the name of Putt Putt. The game involved the following of Putt Putt, a tiny purple car, and his crusade to save those who are in troublesome situations such as losing their shovel. The experience initiated the way I read as it engaged me in a fun and interesting way to understand a story while also learning key words and effectively creating a comprehension. • 15. Do Not Go Gentle Into That Night By Dylan Thomas In 1957 Dylan Thomas published a poem called Do Not Go Gentle into That Night. While reading the poem towards the end you find out that this poem was not only about the inevitable death that one faces at the end of life, but also that this poem was for his dying father. In this poem Thomas uses a form of poetry called villanelle to intertwine many themes, as well as, symbolism and imagery to draw the reader into a sensory experience. Villanelle is a very structured form of poetry that was originated in the french language before it was introduced to the english language. It consists of nineteen lines of poetry and it is divided into six stanzas, it is composed of five three lined stanzas and one four lined stanza. Villanelles also have a very specific rhyme pattern The first and third lines of the first tercet rhyme with each other, and this rhyme is repeated through each of the next four tercets and in the last two lines of the concluding quatrain, this could also be called a refrain (Glossary A13). Dylan follows the scheme very well using the rhyme aba aba aba aba aba abaa. While Dylan follows the poetry form to a T he also is able to incorporate many themes into his poem. One of which, being a very obvious one already stated, mortality. Marxists claim that laws do not reflect a value consensus, instead laws and law enforcement benefits the rich (protection of private property), and discriminate the poor which brings about social class reproduction, the working class are criminalised for their crimes but the criminal just system are more lenient towards the crimes of the wealth such as white collar crime or ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Pearce also explores how white collar crime is hidden from the masses and this puts them in a state of false consciousness so they do not see the full extent of the white collar crime, this is ideological social control, this is often linked to the media which often portrays stereotypes and demonises the poor as criminals. Chambliss looks into selective law enforcement, at the heart of the legal system in the protection of private property, this ensures that the ruling class maintain their wealth, which leads to social class reproduction. All social groups commit crime, but it is the poor who are targeted by the criminal justice system. This is linked to stereotypes where the police target deprived groups in deprived areas e.g. stop and search. There are many strengths and weaknesses to the Marxist approach, such as it explores law making as well as law breaking, it examines selective law enforcement so looks into the discrimination of the working class. They also highlight the idea of social control and how police are more likely to stop and search people based on stereotypes that are displayed in the media which can also be linked with the labelling theory. However there are some weaknesses to the Marxist approach such as that it ignores how some laws benefit everyone, and ignores gender and ethnicity which can be a vital factor in differences in crime and deviance and it is too ... • 21. The Importance Of Government Censorship On Social Media In an age where more and more people are using social media for both personal and professional reasons, there is an increasing amount of government censorship, as well as self censorship, evident on widely used social media platforms. After conducting research on this topic, I have discovered the very fine line between using social networking sites for personal uses versus professional uses. According to scholars, while only 47% of nonacademics use social media for professional purposes, about 91% of university faculty members use social networking sites in class or for other professional reasons (Moran, Seaman, Tinti Kane, 2011). Professionals, particularly academic professionals, have to keep a squeaky clean presence on social media. In this paper, I will discuss my research regarding self censorship on social media, government intervention and censorship and what that means for the American principle of free speech, and tell some stories of individuals who have personal experiences with these problems. Freedom of speech is a basic right in America, granted to citizens by the Frist Amendment to the Constitution of the United States. Many countries do not have laws protecting free speech, and in fact have censorship laws that do the exact opposite. Many Americans as well as other people around the world use social media as a means of expressing their own views and opinions on topics such as politics, world news, social justice issues, and simply to express themselves as ... For example, in the book of Genesis, Yhwh makes the entire earth, but when Eve takes food from the tree of knowledge, he is angry because she gained knowledge of right and wrong. He seems a little bit jealous here because he punishes them for becoming more like him. This is shown when it says, Then Lord God said, Behold, the man has become like one of us, knowing good and evil; and now lest he put forth his hand and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever therefore the Lord god sent him forth from the garden of eden, to till the ground from which he was taken. (28) In exodus Yhwh becomes very ruthless. The punishment for most crimes he talks about is death. Back then this may have seemed okay, but now putting someone to death for hitting his parent is a bit extreme. In the end he says, And if he cries to me, I will hear, for I am compassionate. (34) Similarly, in Deuteronomy Yhwh talks more about being fair to other people and lays down rules for how you should treat people in the court, and in life. • 23. Explain Why The Kennewick Man Was Native American Carl Zimmer s article, New DNA results show the Kennewick Man was Native American focuses on a discovery made by two men wading in the Columbia River July of 1996. These two men had stumbled upon a skull (and after later excavation a complete skeleton) of a mysterious figure over 8,500 years old. Along with this discovery came a multitude of controversy as to where the skeleton had come from, and thereby, who had the rights to his remains. Recent DNA testing was released this past year that suggested that the Kennewick Man had been a Native American, contrary to other beliefs that he had been European. However, while it may be assumed that this discovery would conclude law suits concerning the remains, the dispute continues. Native American history is very rich and not a lot is known about it scientifically due to the deep mistrust between Native Americans and scientists (the Kennewick Man being a single example). Labor Policy Proposal Essay Labor Policy Proposal Presented by Institution Introduction Many people have no idea of what they expect to achieve after retirement when asked about their retirement plans. The government s policies about retirement do not cater for the well being of retirees creating a lot of worry for the life after employment. The increasing number of employees demanding cover by government pension programs and the current decline in the retirement income levels contributes to the change of the American pension landscape (Heiland and Li, 2012). The United States of America developed labor laws during the time when the country s economy was independent and self contained. The main aim of U.S. labor policy was to get rid of different challenges affecting employees and improve their lifestyle in order to enjoy working in a suitable environment. Additionally, the labor policy aimed at protecting American workers by law and protecting certain human rights. According to Dugas (2013), despite the growing economy in U.S. more than 28 percent of American workers lack confidence with the current labor policy on retirement. The research conducted by the Employment Benefit Research Institute (EBRI) in 2013 revealed that most workers are not sure of saving money for retirement. Knowledge Is Power In The Invisible Man, By Ralph Ellison Abtin Ghajarieh Sepanlou ENG 4U Ms. Smith 19 July 2017 Mind Does Not Matter The Ghanaian Diplomat Kofi Annan once said, Knowledge is power. Information is liberating. Education is the premise of progress, in every society, in every family . Although this phrase may contain truth, our society has a long history where they heavily reject the notions of social responsibility and social education. This is due to the fact that those in power are not able to see its potential, as they themselves are without knowledge. Even though knowledge is often attributed to success depending on convenience, certain time periods contained cruel and unusual treatment of a large group of people based on a variety of prejudices. Using this perspective can help better understand the message of the novel, The Invisible Man, by Ralph Ellison. The story follows the life of a black man during the late 1920 s or early 1930 s, when racism was at its peak. In this novel, the author uses literary elements to emphasize that knowledge and intelligence do not necessarily equal power, but those who lack knowledge abuse their power. The author accomplishes this by showing us the power of ignorance, and how feigning ignorance can lead to a sense of power. Knowledge is seen as the polar opposite of ignorance. Hence, the narrator s speech in the beginning of the novel is the first sign that ignorance plagues the majority of the characters in the novel. The Effects Of Different Stresses On Frog Cardiac Muscle Effects of Different Stresses on Frog Cardiac Muscle Brett Cashion Laboratory Partners: Michael Comisac, Haylee Kaushaar, Jessica Self, and Kaitlyn Strosnider April 22, 2015 Department of Biological and Environmental Sciences California University of PA BIO 318, Human Physiology Introduction: The heart is made up of cardiac muscles that are striated, involuntary, and contains intercalated disks which consist of gap junctions that send electrical signals to the heart. In order for contraction to occur in the heart, action potentials have to first move through the T tubules to the L type calcium channels. The calcium used here is not used for contraction. From there, more calcium comes in from outside the cell and binds with ryanodine receptor which causes the actual contraction of the heart. Next, cross bridge cycling occurs and in order for contraction to end, calcium is decreased by using ATP pumps to pump the calcium to the sarcoplasmic reticulum. In the heart, the heartbeat is maintained by the pacemaker cells in the SA node. For it to maintain its heart rate, the SA node is stimulated which causes an action potential to happen. The action potential goes quickly from the top down and it continues through the AV node. The AV node is another pacemaker in the cell but is slower than the SA node. It is also the only pathway where action potential can move from the atria to the ventricle. From the AV node, it goes to the Bundle of His which then branches ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 46. The Farm Of Many Faces The Farm of Many Faces Polyface Farm is a sustainable, organic based farm located in Shenandoah Valley, Virginia. It currently is run by four generations of the Salatin family, but the man with the most influence is Joel Salatin, who was named the worlds most innovative famer by Time Magazine. Joel and his family took some extremely eroded and worn out land and transformed it into the innovative, high field, symbiotic based farm it is today through their unconventional ways. Today they serve upwards to 6000 families, 25 restaurants, and 10 retail outlets all within a four hour radius, to keep it local and within their food shed. Polyface holds very similar values to both the farms within The Good Life and The Dirty Life. The Nearing s weren t too big on the idea of feeding the community as much as they were in to self sufficiency, but they did heavily rely on the natural system with in their way of life; planning everything according to seasons and relying on organics. They also believed in the importance of educating on the subject and allowed people to come, stay, and learn, just like the Salatins. The Essex Farm has much more in common principles wise. Kristen and Mark s goal was that they wanted to feed their community good, clean, healthy food, just like the Salatins. Kristen and Mark achieved this through sustainable practices and dedication to what they love. They maintained their CSA without advertisement and also focused on the importance of soil health just like the Polyface farm does. I believe that the Polyface farm is different in a sense that they have dedicated most of their efforts into creating and maintaining the symbiotic system that occurs within the farm, in contrast to the farms in The Good life and The Dirty Life. On Polyface, community is such an important aspect towards the Salatins goals; to provide good quality food to their food shed. The members who buy from the Salatins are all located within 4 hours of the farm in order to keep their products local. They refuse to mail products so instead they ... • 47. To What Extent Is Propaganda To Deceive People In Animal... A belief is something that someone chooses to agree with because he thinks it is right. He has his own beliefs because he makes his own decisions. However, some people think that people can influence each others decisions, and although this is true, an influence is not completely taking over what someone believes in. For example, Eric Hoffer once said, Propaganda does not deceive people; it merely helps them to deceive themselves. Propaganda, biased news, will always influence people, but it does not have enough power to gain total control of someone s beliefs. People change their minds and let other people alter their thoughts, but it is still that same person making his own decisions. As portrayed in the novel Animal Farm by George Orwell, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The quote by Eric Hoffer, Propaganda does not deceive people; it merely helps them to deceive themselves, means that when someone is introduced to something biased, he chooses to believe it which harms himself. For example, when children see a toy that looks pretty and fun, they immediately want that toy. The producers of the toy make the toy look appealing to children so their parents would buy it for them even if the toy does not work. The children want the pretty toy so they trick themselves into thinking it will fun to play with because of its appearance, but if it does not work, it is the customer s fault for believing that the toy was worth buying. Another example is seeing ads on television. They always show the beneficial effects of something but they do not show what can go wrong. This makes the audience want to buy the product because they think it is perfect and does not have any bad effects. The audience buys the product thinking it will only be a benefit to them, when they probably wasted their money on a useless product. The people who decided to buy this made their own decision to buy it and this is what the quote is saying. Some people will use something to trick others, but that person is tricking themself by believing what the first person said. People do not have to believe everything they see, but when they see something appealing to them, they trick themselves by giving into ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
