Arthur Miller wrote the play The Crucible in 1953. The Crucible takes place in the late 1600`s around
a town called Salem in Massachusetts. Miller went to Salem and acquired historical documents about
the Salem witch trials and used the real people s diaries and other writings to gather information on
what happened and how it happened. He also used the information to create interesting and real
characters that would grab and hold audiences attention. His most memorable characters, Abigail

During the play Taming of the Shrew by Shakespeare, Petruchio is a very intriguing character. One of
the more notable things he does in the play is tame Katerina. However while the play is called taming
of the shrew, I believe his intentions are to have a loving relationship with his spouse. However I don t
believe that was the case the whole time! Petruchio originally did not have feelings for Kate because
he claims during the beginning of the play that he travelled to Pertua to marry a woman with a rich
father. Whilst attempting to tame her he claims he is enjoying doing so, I believe that he is enjoying
because he is getting to spend time with her, while falling in love with her and not even realizing it.
After Petruchio has starved her and deprived her of sleep as well as other things, he makes a real
attempt to be nice to Katherine and I believe that s what really tamed her. Overall I believe Petruchio s
original intentions were to use Katherine and marry her for her wealth. But over time he began to fall
deeply in love with her. We see this by Petruchio putting a great amount of effort into his attempt at
taming Katherine. We see this during his thoughts and speech about marriage and happiness. And
lastly, we see this through his flirty and affectionate gesture towards Kate. Through these things I
believe that Petruchio as well as the audience learn a valuable lesson about love, you cannot force it.

reading this play the only thing the audience will be able to understand from this story is that love
holds no bounds, that some love is forever. In class, we came to the conclusion that this play is about
immature, naive, stubborn kids who do not understand the concept of what real love is. Their demised
stemmed from a fast paced relationship which bloomed from rejection. Stupidity, naivety,
stubbornness, and immaturity are all traits that may be used to describe Romeo Montague. Now, these
traits shaped Romeo to be the most irresponsible guy ever which lead him and his supposed love to
their demise. Now it is not to be said that Juliet was not at fault, on the contrary, she is also to blame
for their demise because the traits Romeo has she seems to have too. Most of these ideas seem pretty
petty for older people, which is why it weighs so heavy on them, they are children, if they would have
waited to even commence their relationship they would have outgrown most of these traits and their
demise may have been avoided altogether. At the beginning of the play, we see Romeo carry the same
feelings that he expresses for Juliet for someone else. Before there was Juliet in Romeo s life there
was Rosaline, another Capulet. If you see how Romeo expresses his feelings for Rosaline, you can see
