2. False Memory, Pseudo-Memory Distortion
False memory syndrome is also called Recovered memory, Pseudo Memory, and Memory Distortion.
False memory syndrome or pseudo memory is memories of an experience, in which one seemingly
remembers that never actually or really occurred. In other words, false memory is a fabricated
remembrance of past events that did not really happen. People often falsely thought of memories as
recorder that are records accurately of all the experience in our brain but, memories are not always
true and accurate and may contain delusions. People might be confident with their memory, but there
is no guaranteed that some memories are actually accurate. Confident may sometimes result a person
to think something completely false into being completely true.

Self hypnosis can sometimes result in the creation of false memories because the belief that something
happened could be so strong in an individual s conscious mind that it force a memory to adapt to the
belief, even if the event had never happened. A statistic that a psychologist at Ohio State University in
Lima and fellow researchers found about hypnosis was that even when people were warned about the
likelihood of acquiring pseudo memories or false memories under hypnosis, more than a quarter of the
people still want to be treated using the technique. There are raging controversies over the use of
hypnosis to help people recall lost memories of early trauma due to the false accusation of cultural
expectation that hypnosis will lead more accurate memories.
A case study conducted by Dr. Joseph Green, whose a Professor of Psychology at Ohio State
University, consist of48 students who had been shown to be highly inclined to hypnosis was divided
into two groups to test the controversies. Before they were hypnotized, 32 of the students were warned
about hypnosis could lead to false memories and other memories that they would not normally
remember and the remaining 16 students were not given any warning. According to Dr. Joseph Green,
the result of the experiment was that the warning that was given to the 32 students help prevents false
memories to an extent, but not

Firstly, Lehigh Hanson cement established in Mason City, Iowa in the early 20th century. The

another example of how the cement plant affected the enviroment. We had to where dust masks too.
Some of the old workers didn t. Oh it s harmless i ve been working here for years and haven t got lung

4. Sample Case Study Of Alexis Smoothies
Adolescence, is the time of age where an individual discovers who they are and going through the
critical period of age. The person I chose to interview is a male adolescent name Alexis Fleties, who is
sixteen years old, and is a High school junior. His race/ethnicity is Hispanic, he is half Cuban (father)
and half Venezuelan (Mother) and he lives in Tampa, Florida. The three aspects that will be covered
about Alexis is identity, family and gender, that will be focused on questions about the best qualities
about himself, how his relationship is with his siblings, and what does it mean to be a man.
For the first aspect of development, identity is one of the main aspects for adolescent development.

adolescent and his mom in order to hang out. The next question in family is how his relationship
between his siblings is, and the first response I received from him, was Great! Even though there can
be issues and arguments at times but still great. His brother that he lives with is 11 years old and has
other younger siblings that live in Maryland, he has contact with them and talks to them through the

relationship with your parent? and his response was Well, with me, I have more leeway compared to
my brother, because I m older but my mom treats me and my brother the same, no favorite child.

It might be supposed that the purpose of remedies is to compel the promisors to keep their promises.
But the system of contract remedies is not directed at compulsion of promisors to prevent breach , it is
aimed instead as a relief to promisees to redress breach.[iii] The award of damages is the common
form of relief for breach of contract. Virtually any breach gives the injured party a claim for damages
for at least nominal damages.[iv] Further there are various kinds of damages that a Court may award
depending on the facts of each and every case.
This project aims at providing a comparative critique on damages as a remedy for breach of contract
under Indian, American, English and Chinese law keeping in view the research problem and the
objectives to be achieved.
DAMAGES
In USA the damages for breach of contract fall into three categories:
a) Expectation is the prospect of gain from the contract. (Rest.2d §347)
b) Reliance is the detriment the injured party may have incurred by changing his or her position.
(Rest.2d §349) Purpose of reliance damages is to restore the victim of breach to the position he or she
would have been in if the contract had not been made. (Rest.2d §344(b) .)
c) Restitution is the interest in the benefits the injured party has conferred upon the breaching party.

7. The Pros And Cons Of Modern Monetary Theory
Modern monetary theory (MMT) Modern monetary theory explains exclusively how the government,
central bank and the commercial banking sector interacts, with some economists arguing that
understanding of reserve accounting is critical to understanding monetary policy options. This theory
was developed by a group of economist including Randal Wray (2009) and Bill Mitchell. All of the
commercial banks will also have an account with the central bank. This permits the banks to manage
their reserves that is, the amount of available short term money that a particular bank holds. So when
the government spends, treasury will debit its cash operating account at the central bank, and deposit
this money into private bank accounts (and hence into the commercial ... Show more content on

In most countries, commercial banks reserve accounts with the central bank must have a positive
balance at the end of every day; in some countries, the amount is specifically set as a proportion of the
liabilities a bank have that is on its customers. This is known as a reserve requirement. At the end of
every day, a commercial bank will have to examine the status of their reserve accounts. Those that are
in deficit have the option of borrowing the required funds from the central bank, where they may be
charged a lending rate which is also referred to as the discount rates on the amount they borrow. In a
balanced system, where there are just enough total reserves for all the banks to meet requirements, the
short term interbank lending rate will be in between the support rate and the discount rate. Both the
Treasury and the central bank are involved in these reserve management operations to maintain
interest rate stability (Palley, 2012). This applies to the relationship between the Central Bank of
Kenya and its regulatory requirement to maintain a capping that is below 14%. CBK finances

10. Analysis Of Under The Influence By Scott Russell Sanders
From a brief reading of Under the Influence , by Scott Russell Sanders, one can understand being
shamed and being condemned for actions that is not their own fault, but instead brought upon
themselves as a consequence of others. Son of an alcoholic, Sanders was a deprived man, who
believes himself a criminal. However, the crime, which he has set in stone is a debt that can truly
never be fulfilled, because the victim is already dead. To exact life into the meaning over Sander s
adversity is to invade within the depths of the man s skeleton closet; by understanding the meaning
behind inner privacy between father and son. The bond between father and son can be said as the man
s greatest fortunate or self inflicted trauma, in Sander s reality it proves to be the latter, as it latches
itself on to his son. The series of misfortune events continues delegate, not only in Sander s past
reality, but also in his present. Writing as a memoir to dead father, writing as a note to his son, and
writing as an outlet of relief can all be explained as the purposes of the narrative. However, this offsets
who it is actually to himself, as a reminder to not become his father.
Although tribulations can destroy and wreak havoc on a person, it prepares individuals to take on the
complete misery of life. The relationship between Sanders and his father cannot be considered a tragic
ending, in another way it is a fundamental part of Sanders perseverance against the grievances of daily
strife. I

11. Sweatshirts to Sweatshops Essay
1. In the essay Sweatshirts to Sweatshops, many of the universal intellectual standards are violated. To
begin with, the speaker talks about the little girl...working hour after hour...trying not to collapse from
the heat... and that violates the fairness of the argument. He is trying to manipulate the audience by
appealing to their emotional side. This argument is not based in factual evidence, and therefore, could
be dismissed by the audience. There may not be a little girl in this exact situation described, and
therefore, this statement is irrelevant. This could be corrected by leaving the entire story of the little
girl out, or an interview of a child that works in the factory could be conducted giving a first hand look

These workers may not have anywhere better to work and desperately need the money. This violation
could be resolved by interviewing workers about their jobs and doing research to find out the
conditions of other job opportunities in their area. Another point of view is definitely needed in this
argument.
2. At the end of the essay, the speaker gives only a choice between one or the other solution, leaving
out any other options, which is known as a false dilemma. The speaker states, [t]here are two things
we can do to put an end to this exploitation. We can demand that Cromwell obtain its logo
merchandise only from garment companies with socially responsible labor practices, and we an refuse
to wear or purchase any Cromwell clothing until the college switches to an acceptable apparel
supplier. This is a false dilemma because the speaker does not include any other possibilities. This
hurts the essay because the speaker only gives the audience a limited number of options. The speaker
wants the audience to feel that they only have a limited amount of choices, when in reality, they could
just ignore the problem. Emotive language is another fallacy that the speaker uses. Emotive language
is when the speaker tries to appeal to the audience using peer pressure, flattery, pity, and/or fear. The
speaker states, We have a choice: to do what we can in support of global economic justice, or to
become the oppressor. No one wants to be responsible for the

Secularism s goal is to vacate government involvement in their subjects faith or religion. A great

and they saw this increased attention to science as a force that weakens faith. A separate branch related

be unaffiliated religiously to the composition of the unaffiliated, the demographics of the unaffiliated
and theories as to why there is an increase in the numbers of the years. It is interesting to see how
people view themselves when it comes to their beliefs. The article discusses a couple of reasons
behind the increase of unaffiliated Americans. It is thought that the growth is a result of newer
generations replacing older generations. It is evident that elders are more likely to proclaim religion

It is important to retain hands on skills in a changing world that is beginning to be taken over by
assembly lines with robots and 3D computer printing that takes out most and in some cases all manual
labour, and makes peoples jobs redundant all in search of a cheaper more efficient product.
In a changing world it is now more important than ever to maintain the knowledge of hands on skills

Hand made products are very important as it is in human nature to create thing by using our own two

During growth and development children are expected to meet certain milestones at specific ages. No
two children are exactly alike. Children grow and develop at their own pace. However, parents or
primary care providers may notice slow or absent growth and development in a child. Developmental
screenings take place initially. When abnormal growth and development are noted; a developmental
assessment is warranted. The developmental assessment will aid in recognition of the development
and growth concern. Also, prevent any further delays and enabling prompt and essential interventions

21. Creating a Social Program for the Homeless
Final Project: Creating a Social Program I have decided to create a social program that identifies the
social problem of Homelessness. The new human services, social program will target helping
homeless individuals and families to get off the streets. In order to have a successful program I have to
come up with an outline and cover all of the basics. This program will have many different resources
available to homeless or about to be homeless individuals and families. There are so many homeless
people out there and her in the state of Florida there are not many places for homeless people to turn
to for comfort and safety. So I am truly excited to be creating this new program that will help many
people to go forward and live wonderful and successful lives, no matter what they have been through.
Throughout this paper I will be discussing some of the things that are needed in order to start an
organization. This paper will serve as an outline or an information source on how to create a social
program as well as the social program that I am creating. Basic Information and Demographics The
name of the social program that I have come up with is called New Beginnings. This organization will
be a community service program for the homeless population. Deciding on a place to put the
organization is very important because it is best to try and target an area that is in need of the services.
After some careful research the demographic area that I have chosen to place this

22. Effects of Business Cycles
Introduction In general the economy tends to experience different trends. These trends can be grouped
as the business/trade cycle and may contain a boom, recession, depression and recovery. A
business/trade cycle (see figure 1) is the periodic but irregular up and down movements in economic
activity, measured by fluctuations in real Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and other macroeconomic
variables. Samuelson and Nordhaus (1998), defined it as a swing in total national input, income and
employment, usually lasting for a period of 2 to 10 years, marked by widespread expansion or
contraction in most sectors of the economy . These fluctuations in economic activity usually have
implications on employment, consumption, business confidence, ... Show more content on

USA budget deficit, which for 2006 fell to $247.7 billion, the lowest in four years is of much concern.
The September 11 terrorism attacks has aided to the retrenchment of economic activity and this has
also affected the level of confidence in businesses and consumers. In 2000, consumer debt growth of
8.6% compared with real disposable income growth of 4.8%. During the first quarter of 2006, private
household debt grew to 11.6% annually compared with zero real disposable income growth. The
thriving technology in the USA led to a large number of investment in information processing
equipment and software resulting in high equity values which also resulted in a decline by the second
quarter of 2000. In October 2001employment fell by 439,000 jobs, and unemployment rate soared
from 4.9% to 5.4%. Over 500,000 jobs were lost in the recession and a further one million jobs were
destroyed in the weak job loss recovery from November 2001 to June 2003. People who lived below
the poverty line jumped from 31.06 million to 34.06 million by 2002. This recession could have been
avoided, however the argument against government intervention using discretionary fiscal policy to
tackle recession accentuates the long time lags involved in altering fiscal policy in USA. There was
proof in 2000 that the USA economy was slowing. Congress passed a tax cut in 2001, but it took
Congress until March 2002 to pass the Economy Recovery Act to provide further inducement to the

The Dark Knight
You only have your thoughts and dreams ahead of you. You are someone. You mean something. Very
inspirational quote right, maybe it came from the president or Oprah, someone big right? It came from
a fictional character in a comic book, Batman the Dark Knight. Comics have become something
greater than what people consider them to be. Especially the characters portrayed in said comics.
Comic books are literally larger than life, the characters in these comics may have superpowers or live
in a place that would only exist in the craziest of dreams. But they are written so well that it really
does convince one to believe that a place like this may actually exist and that anything can happen in
it. This is how they get the reader, into the comic; and because of this you are entertained. We read our
favorite comic books and take in the lessons written in each and every page. Such as Batman. Batman
is one of the greatest and well known heroes in the comic book world. He has been very popular in
pop culture throughout the years because of television and movie adaptations.
When I was growing up I was first introduced to the Dark Knight by my dad when he would turn on
the television every Saturday morning and tune into Batman The Animated Series. I remember
instantly gaining interest in it because he was really cool, he fought bad guys, and he had all these
gadgets that helped him fight for justice.

For the last 14 years the US Special Forces have been fighting various enemy forces in Afghanistan,
often in the snow covered and treacherous mountains found throughout the country. While it is of the

these cold and mountainous environments it is equally important to understand the risks associated
with exposure to a cold weather, the physiologic impact of acute and prolonged exposure to a cold

Mild frostbite is an injury that does not result in tissue loss, whereas severe frostbite does. Much like a
thermal burn frostbite can also be categorized into degrees of injury according to acute physical
findings after freezing and rewarming (Freer Imray, 2012). Frostnip, a superficial injury resulting in
no frozen extracellular water or tissue loss, is associated with severe vasoconstriction that manifests in
discomfort but usually resolves on its own within 30 minutes. First degree frostbite presents with
numbness of the effected tissue, erythema, and edema; like frostnip there is no tissue loss. Second
degree frostbite presents with clear or milky blisters on the skin surrounded by edema and erythema.
This degree of frostbite typically looks worse than it is and will heal within 30 days. Third degree
frostbite presents with deeper blisters often containing purple ish blood filled fluid. This degree of
frostbite is severe and indicates that the injury has extended beneath the dermal vascular plexus and
into the reticular dermis. The final and most severe is fourth degree frostbite, usually presenting with
relatively avascular subcuticular tissues causing mummification with muscle and bone involvement.
This degree of frostbite typically results in tissue loss and/or auto or surgical amputation (Freer Imray,

27. Exile And The Kingdom Analysis
In Exile and the Kingdom, Most of the stories are more or less related to religion, Christianity in
particular. For example, the whole story of The Renegade, or A Confused Mind is about the change of
religion s belief of the narrator. For Jonas, or The Artist at Work, the title itself borrows the name of a
Christian character Jonas, who want justice be carried even at the price of disobeying God. In the
growing stone, the suitor agreed to carry a heavy stone to church if he was saved from the shipwreck.
The pray itself is an act of religion. As for the other character ,D Arrast, an engineer from the outside
who didn t believe in religion, he carried out the stone after the suitor fell down but sent it to the suitor
s home, instead of the church. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

inner satisfaction. It implies that due to his helping of the suitor, in other words, his own kindness, D
Arrast had found his inner happiness in this world filled with unfortunate. In comparison, the stone,
which is a symbol of the religion in Iguapo, evoke a sense of heaviness. The people in Iguapo was
burdened by its religion instead of pursuing happiness. However, because of D Arrast act, the statues
of religion had changed little by little, it is implied by the text: In the center of the room, in the hearth
space, the stone was half buried in cinders and earth. (165) The stone, a symbol of the religion, was

28. The Best Invention Of The Early Twentieth Century
America has had multiple inventions in its short lifespan, but one stands out above the rest. The
invention of the airplane in 1903 by Wilbur and Orville Wright was only the beginning of something
that would change the world forever. The airplane is still used today to travel around the world at a
much faster pace than a boat. While it has been used to mainly help people they are also used to hurt
people. The army uses planes to drop bombs, shoot down planes and threats on the ground, and to
survey an area. While these are just cases of military uses the airplane has also been used to do
horrible things such as the terrorist attack on the twin towers in New York on september eleventh
2001(9/11 attacks), The airplane was the best invention of the early twentieth century because it
created a means of travelling across the world with ease, created a new weapon to fight wars, and it
united America. Flying has always been an action that man has observed. The dream of flying is as old
as mankind itself ( History of the airplane ). For centuries humans have dreamed of flying through the
air, however they have never been able to. Many have tried but their design would always fail.
Ornithopter, machine designed to fly by the flapping of its wings in imitation of birds. The wooden
bird said to have been made about 400 bc by Archytas of Tarentum is one of the earliest examples.

29. Stelae Images
What does it mean to put a text on a public monument? The answer to this question can be pursued by
studying inscriptions on stelae from the ancient Near East and the relationship these inscriptions had
with their audiences. An inscription communicates with its audience through content and visuality. By
examining these two aspects of notable stelae from the Iron Age Levant, the experiences of ancient
people reading these stelae and the effect it had on them may be understood. Few researchers have
studied stelae as individual entities and the effect that they had on those who saw them. Scholars tend
to focus on the content found in these texts. They flesh out the vocabulary, word forms and
translations in order to understand the inscriptions ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I will examine the imagery evoked by the textual content, and the texts as images on display. I will
conduct textual analyses of these stelae to know the imagery and messages being communicated.
These can be understood by studying the style of the writing, the use of language devices, like
metaphors and idiom, and the kind of language used, be it exclamatory versus passive, or Phoenician
versus Egyptian hieroglyphs. Additionally, I will examine the stelae in light of historical context.
These are historically bound inscriptions, therefore an understanding of the people and places
mentioned is important for comprehension. I will also view the inscriptions as images themselves. I
will analyze what they physically looked like from the reader s perspective, where they are placed and
what is around them, in addition to the format of the writing, the deepness of the carving and the way
the letters looked. For example, Egyptian hieroglyphs can be written in any direction and are
themselves images. The direction of the sentences and the use of one image rather than another to
convey the same message may be meaningful. I will also research the larger environment in which
they were involved, like political and social situations and the location in the world, at a capital city
for example. In addition to my own interpretations, I will review the interpretations of scholars and
compare their analyses with my own. Further, I will draw information about the relationship between
text and image from art historical sources to aid in my

30. Global Warming Is One Of The Biggest Concerns To Our Planet.
Global Warming is one of the biggest concerns to our planet. As of right now, ice caps are melting, sea
temperatures have risen, and animals have changed their migrating patterns. Not only this, but plants
are blooming earlier and fish are migrating towards cooler water. These effects are not just a
coincidence. Mankind is causing the decline of our earth at a rapid pace from pollution, to cutting
downs trees, and countless other activities. This form of climate change is destroying ecosystems,
killing wildlife, and damaging our planet. Mankind must take a stand to become more eco friendly and
save the earth―before it is too late.

thing: the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
3). The greenhouse effect can not be stopped entirely, since it is a natural occurrence; however, there
are solutions mankind can take to reduce its effects on our planet. Some may argue that humans are
not the main cause of global warming, but science proves otherwise. Although humans do cause a
cooling process on the earth, it is significantly smaller, and it is not enough to balance out the warming
effect. The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, as cited in the NOAA states, Earth s average
surface temperature has risen by about 1.5 degrees fahrenheit since 1880 [due to human activities]
(2007, p. 3). This number may seem small in perspective, but in reality, the earth should maintain the
same temperature and that is not what is happening; consequently, earth s temperature has been
rapidly changing more than it ever has before. The main reason this number is so large is because of
the industrial revolution. The industrial revolution was a period of time where machines and
manufacturing flourished. Although it was good for the economy, it was deadly for the earth. This
spike in machinery was ultimately the leading start of a chain of events that lead to why global
warming is at the highest it has ever been. Such a dramatic rise in temperature in over these short
years is an obvious sign that the earth is warming.

31. Karl Marx on the German Ideology
Karl Marx on the German Ideology: Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels collaborated to produce The
German Ideology, which was one of the classic texts generated by the two. Even though The German
Ideology stands our as one of the major texts produced by the two, it was never published during Marx
s lifetime. This was a clear expression of the theory of history by Marx and its associated materialist
metaphysics. One of the main reasons this text is a classic text by these philosophers is the fact that it
introduces students to the basic tenets of the philosopher s approach. Notably, Karl Marx produced
The German Ideology in 1846 as a critique of George Friedrich Hegel and his followers in Germany.
The philosophers sought to differentiate their concept of socialism from existing ones and exhibit how
socialism emerges ordinarily from the social conflicts embedded in capitalism.
Background to the Introduction of The German Ideology: The introduction of The German Ideology
can be attributed to the intellectual influences Karl Marx received from the philosophy of George
Friedrich Hegel ( Karl Marx , par, 2). Hegel s philosophical concept was based on the idea of the
dialectic, which was initially used to describe the procedure of logical argumentation and refutation.
While earlier philosophers had treated this signature concept as a process of generating accurate ideas,
Hegel argued that these ideas develop based on a constant procedure of disagreement and resolution.

32. Essay on Defining Military Discipline and Values
Military Discipline is a state of order and obedience existing within a command. Self discipline in the
military is where soldiers do the 4 rights without being told, even in the absence of the commander.
Discipline is created within a unit by instilling a sense of confidence and responsibility in each
individual. To strengthen discipline, senior leaders need to give praise to their subordinates, either
individually or as a whole, for tasks done well. By doing this, it will accomplish every commanders
goal of having a unit that functions well and builds a bond which binds together the team. Everything
in life requires some sort of discipline. Whether it is hitting a baseball, learning to sew , playing a

An example is when a soldier is talking bad about an NCO and another soldier sticks up for the NCO
not only because they can get into trouble for talking like that, but because it is the right thing to do. It
helps build a unit and unites them and builds trust. Missing PT on Wednesday was a prime example of
disloyalty. If I was punctual and made sure the alarm was set the night before, I wouldn t have let the
team down. It showed the unit that I couldn t be trusted with the smallest of tasks, such as being on
time. Had I been more disciplines, I would have been more aware of the fact that the alarm was not
set. Duty is the easiest to define. It is doing what you are supposed to do when you are supposed to do
it. Simply, it is your job. As air traffic controllers, our first duty priority is to separate aircraft and issue
safety alerts as required. If we neglected this priority, then we would lose tons of valuable lives. It was
my duty to show up to PT on time. By deselecting this duty I let down my unit. Self discipline is the
vital key to duty. If you don t have self discipline you won t know what right is, or you will know
what it is but you won t have the discipline to do it. The 4 rights take a lot of discipline. It is our duty
to accomplish the 4 rights: right time, right place, right uniform/ equipment, and right attitude. By
missing PT, I failed to accomplish all 4 or the rights as I

A peptic ulcer can be defined as an excavation that forms in the mucosal wall of the stomach, in the
pylorus, in the duodenum, or in the esophagus (Brunner, Suddarth and Smeltzer, 2008). According to
Fromm, (2009) Helobactor pylori is a gram negative bacteria that is the cause of most peptic ulcer
disease and is considered a primary risk factor in the development of gastic cancer (pg. 394). Other
causes include stress, and excessive secrtion of Hydrochloric acid in the stomach. Transmission of H.
pylori according to Gurney, Carvalho, Gonzalez, Galaviz Sonstein (2014) states there is strong
research supporting that H. pylori can be spread person to person through direct contact with saliva,
vomit, or fecal matter (pg. 393). H. Pylori is more prevalent in crowded areas without reliable access
to clean water. Other risk factors include poor hygiene, smoking, and close living conditions with
someone who is infected with H. pylori. Symptoms of an ulcer include a burning sensation in the
stomach and esophagus, vomiting, diarrhea or constipation and bleeding. Treatment of Peptic Ulcer
Disease includes antibiotics to eradicate H. pylori bacteria; proton pump inhibitors are used to treat
NSAID induced ulcers and other ulcers not associated with the bacterial infection, smoking cessation
and dietary modifications. Surgical management is recommended for ulcers that fail to heal after 12 16
months of treatments and the procedures include pyloroplasy, anrectomy or vagotomy.
