My Education, And The Influence Of Education
When you compare the world I come from to the world of some others, I came from an exceptional
world. Coming from a home with both parents, exceptional neighborhood, and growing up in church
all my life has taught me many lessons in life that eventually influence many of my decisions. Where I
come from has influenced me a lot. While I did grow up in a stable home, I also experienced many
bad things in different surroundings in my life that have influenced me to focus on my education and
make a difference in my community. I spent many summers staying with my grandmother who lived
in a rough neighborhood. Spending time in that neighborhood during a number of summers have
exposed me witnessing the struggle of many different people and also seeing people like my own
brother be badly affected by his environment in a rough neighborhood being lead to make bad
decisions in life. Seeing my brother drop out of high school, join a gang, and eventually end up in bad
area in his life influenced me to pursue my education and go to college to be the best I could be so I
wouldn t end up in the same position that he did. Not only did that experience influence me to want to
pursue the best education I could but it also made me want to be able to use my education and life

Where the narrator in Cat in the Rain keeps a distance from the character and allows variation in
interpretation for the reader, the narrator in Killed Paive is the protagonist, who includes the reader in
the narrative through the usage of you . Thus, the two narrators not only approach the reader in two
different ways through the tenor, the narrators also have different viewpoints overall.
Cat in the Rain displayed the causes of the characters behaviour, mainly the American wife, Killed
Paive displayed the inner thought of the protagonist, excluding the causes. Meaning Killed Paive
attempted to generate an emotional reaction upon the reader, through its word choice in the description
of the feeling longing in the narrator. In contrast, the narrator in Cat in the Rain focused on the setting,
whilst the words said by the characters display the influence longing has on their emotions.
Where the two texts have similarities are in addition to the topic of longing, is the usage of metonymy.
Both texts chose to use an entity which projected the feelings felt by the protagonist. Where Cat in the
Rain used the cat as a literal physical entity, expressing the inner feelings of the American wife, Killed
Paive chose soul. Though the soul is not a physical entity, it nevertheless, functions as the reflection of

Social Anxiety is stopping me from success of achieving my dreams and goals in life; my weakness is
shyness, lack of self confidence and fear of public speaking. Another words, it s difficult to admit,
however, I am suffering from SAD (social anxiety disorder), otherwise known as phobia, which is the
most common anxiety disorder.
