Why The Legislative Branch Is The Strongest
Collins 1 Ciara Collins PS 122: American Politics: Issues and Institutions Essay Two 11/5/2014 Which
of the three branches of the federal government (Congress, the Presidency, and the Judiciary) is the
strongest? Why do you think this is the case? The Legislative Branch is one out of the three branches
of the government. All the branches of the federal government play a super important part in
Government. However, the Legislative Branch is the strongest branch. All of the Legislative Branches
privileges and powers are well defined in the U.S Constitution. All of the Legislative Branches rights
and powers are defined in the U.S Constitution. The U.S Constitution wanted to divide powers within
the three branches of the federal government. The Legislative Branch is the strongest branch because

Of course there is a balance of powers between the branches and all three branches are fairly equal as
some Americans like to say but Congress has one advantage in particular, power of the purse.
Congress approves budgets. If they don t want to fund a project or law, they don t have to, and it s
dead in the water, that is why I would have to say that Congress has the most active power. They are
the only branch that can make laws after all, amend the Constitution and ultimately has approval over
all decisions affecting the nation as a whole. This seems like a clear reason on why the Legislative is
so strong, it is the fact that they have so much power. Congress is the only one out of all three
branches that is elected by popular vote, which can say a lot for the people. It is supposed to represent
the will of the people. The Executive branch is ultimately responsible to Congress and remember that
Congress can impeach a President, but a President does not have the power to remove a member of
Congress and thus, to the

Causes Of Pollution And Pollution Of The Ocean Essay
Pollution and Warming of the Ocean The ocean is a vast and mysterious part of our ocean. The ocean
covers 71 % of our planet and contains over 50% of all life on earth .( Oceanic Institute ). The oceans
also holds the deepest part of our planet that we have yet to explore and discover. The ocean is such a
vital part of our planet and we are destroying it with pollution and mistakes that we have made.
Global warming is a huge issue that we have to deal with. The world is getting warmer. Whether the
cause is human activity or natural variability most of evidence says it is because of humans.
Thermometer readings all around the world have risen steadily since the beginning of the Industrial
Revolution in Great Britain ( earthobservatory ). According to NASA s Goddard Institute for Space
Shuttles in the temperature had risen by .80 degrees celsius or 1.4 degrees fahrenheit since 1880(
earthobservatory ). You may think one degree what is the big deal? You have to think how much
energy it takes to raise the entire planet of the earth by one degree. The surface area of the earth is
196.9 million square miles. The cause of the temperature means that more solar radiation is getting
through our atmosphere. Most scientist believe that large levels of radiation actually cause the ice
age(Ice Age). So when you ask what the big deal about 1 or 2 degrees just remember that that one or
two degree sent the earth plundering into an global snow ball.
There is no denying that our Earth is

Social Comparison In The Classroom
Most of us are guilty of comparing ourselves to other people. It happens all the time in so many
different situations and environments. Social comparisons take place in the workplace, at school,
within friend groups and many other areas. The social comparison theory may give us more
knowledge about why and how we perform these comparisons. Leon Festinger was the psychologist
who first brought up the idea of the social comparison theory. According to the theory, there exists two
types of comparisons upward and downward. The upward comparisons involve comparing ourselves
to other people who we believe hold an advantage in some way. Upward comparisons may cause
people to want to change themselves to be on par with those of their comparisons. ... Show more

For example, students may look upward to students who are performing better and then try to increase
their own performance to match the others. Social comparisons may hold negative or positive effects
on self esteem for students. Upward comparisons generally hold a negative effect, while downward
comparisons often have a positive effect. This is not true all the time. Environmental context plays a
huge role in the social comparisons of the classroom. The environment of the classroom creates a very
competitive atmosphere unlike any other. Everything including the grade system, participation,
presentations causes students to compare themselves to others. Students, all the time, ask each other
what grade did you get on that? in order to see where they stand. Social comparison can be seen all the
time and even has a major presence in movies, television and mass media. The movie Pursuit of
Happiness includes a major example of the upward comparison. Will Smith s character, Chris Gardner
is in deep financial trouble after a bad investment in medical technology equipment. One day, while
walking on the streets of San Francisco, he notices a Ferrari pull up to the curb, and starts a very
friendly conversation with the owner. Chris finds out that the owner is a stockbroker. After the ferrari s
owner walks away, Chris takes a look around the Pacific stock exchange and notices the smiles on
everyone s faces. He then says

The Attachment Theory and Factors Damaging to Attachment
Attachment Theory
Relationships are the building block for personality and are significant in children s ability to grow
into substantial individuals who can thrive in an often harsh world. Constructing lasting and fulfilling
relationships is an integral part to development as the interpersonal bonds forged are not only highly
sought after but also set the ground work for all upcoming expressive interactions. Relationships and
attachment go hand in hand as attachment is the strong and lasting linkage established between a child
and his or her caregiver. Moreover, attachment significantly influences a large capacity of ones make
up as it these first relationships that teaches morals, builds self esteem, and develops a support system.
The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These included Secure attachment, Avoidant, and resistant patterns . Also furthering the work of her
predecessors, Mary Main a student of both Ainsworth and Bowlby provided additional categories of
attachment which included the disorganized disoriented pattern. Many children growing up in homes
plagued by substance use of any nature struggle the most when into adulthood and as a result of poor
attachments often develop negative relational patterns. Children in these households often develop
what is known as an avoidant attachment style in which they have not maintained trust with caregivers
early on thus lending to behaviors of mistrust later in life as they weren t provided stability early on.
Culture and Attachment Attachment theory is a great model for understanding the maladaptive
patterns of behavior many adults may present later in life. As relationship and relational patterns are
developed early in life the way in which people view themselves and the world are greatly influenced
by their experiences with attachment figures. Though attachment theory wishes to look at the
universal inner workings of child development and attachment organization it does not fully discuss
the cultural contexts. Attachment theory instead looks to universally categorize the survival needs of
all infants but does not take into consideration cultural, racial, and socio economic elements that may
affect the differential attachment

Rights And Sexual Feminism In Kate Chopin s The Awakening
In the 19th century, a group of people launched the suffrage movement, and they not only cared about
women s political rights, women s property and body autonomy. Born in that age, Kate Chopin was
aware of the importance of setting an example for those who were taken in by the reality to be an
inspiration. So we call her a forerunner of the feminist author for every effort she put in advocating
women s sexual liberty, their self identity and women s own strength.
When people were ashamed of talking about sexuality, Kate Chopin stood out and call for women s
sexual autonomy. The Awakening, a short story with purposeful title. It took place in New Orleans and

It s also the reason for some other people disagreed with the idea that Kate Chopin s feminist identity.
Elizabeth Fox Genovese, of Emory University, claims Kate was neither a feminist nor a suffragist, she
said so. She was nonetheless a woman who took women extremely seriously. She never doubted
women s ability to be strong. Kate wasn t a fighter for rights or liberty with this idea. She just shows
her sympathies to the individual in the context of his and her personal life society. One famous saying
by Rebecca West came to my mind, I, myself have never been able to find out precisely what
feminism is; I only know that people call me a feminist whenever I express sentiments that
differentiate me from a doormat. These so called feminist writers just performed their due duties and
did right work but don t think they were doing anything special. Even so, in my point, feminists might
just do things they thought to be right, but it would awake people from blindness. They held torches

Newspaper Article Assignment Julius Caesar
March 16th, 44 B.C.E Roman Republic Times
Conspirators kill mighty Caeser
Yesterday around noon, Rome witnessed the fall of a mighty leader named Julius Caesar. The
conspirators involved in this murder were witnessed by the names of Cassius, Casca, Cinna,
Trebonius, Ligarius, Decius Brutus, Metellus Cimber and Brutus.
It was supposed to be an ordinary gathering like any other at the Capitol on March 15th, 44 B.C.E, but
things ended up turning out very differently from what was normally expected. It started out with
Caesar heading to the Senate house with all of the conspirators surrounding him. Caesar sees the

This attempt quickly failed when she said that his hubris just took over. I knew that Caesar should
have stayed away from the Senate house yesterday, but I guess his pride just took over his mind, it was
just all too much, Calpurnia sobbed. This has turned out to be the most tragic moment in my life and I
hope those conspirators kneel to the gods, for they have upset the heavens with the killing of the
mightiest leader Rome has ever seen.
It wasn t just Calpurnia that was upset, Mark Antony, a good friend of Caesar, was completely
depressed and raging with anger at the same time. Those worthless blocks of stones, how could their
hearts be so dark to inflict pain on one of the most generous and good hearted people of Rome, Mark
Antony explains with tears in his eyes. They shall suffer great consequences in the near future and
only time will tell when their journey will also come to an end.
Some Romans on the other hand believed Caesar s death was a gift from the gods and portrayed a sign
of peace in Rome.
He deserved his death, he was becoming too conceited, Cassius, a main conspirator in the murder,
explains as he was walking on the streets yesterday evening.
Brutus, the leader of the conspirators also felt the same way about Caesar s death. The Gods knew that

Analysis Of Lone Ranger And Tonto Fistfight In Heaven By...
Everyone has their own struggles that they go through in life. Some may be self inflicted, while others
are just the cards that were dealt to them. Sherman Alexie s story collection The Lone Ranger and
Tonto Fistfight in Heaven tells of the cards that were given to people on a reservation. This
compilation of stories was the framework for Smoke Signals, which won two awards at Sundance
Film Festivals. Alexie has also written other novels and poems in regard to the Native American
culture. The Lone Ranger and Tonto Fistfight in Heaven was an interesting read to say the least. It tells
of the alcoholism, crime, relationships, and traditions of both the present and past residents of the
reservation, as well as their ancestors before the reservation was in place. Overall this book is a
representation of Native American lives both on and off of the reservation, with interaction with the
white people and the governing forces of the reservation. I was looking forward to seeing if this
collection of stories could change the way I picture reservations. I have viewed the outskirts of a few
and they did not leave a good image. The reservation in the novel is located in Spokane. From the
beginning the collection has attention grabbing features, telling of a boy named Victor who is witness
to his family s arguments and problems at a young age. None of it was new to him though and his
perspective gives insight to how life on a reservation can be. Throughout the book

What Accounting Considerations Are There For Companies...
E) What notable accounting considerations are there for companies in this industry? Most companies
in the telecommunication industry rely heavily on assumptions and estimations when dealing with
their number one assets: telecommunication licenses and Goodwill. A summary of the critical
accounting estimates used in preparing Verizon financial statements is as follows: Wireless licenses
and Goodwill are a significant component of the company s consolidated assets. Both wireless
licenses and Goodwill are treated as indefinite lived intangible assets and, therefore are not amortized,
but rather are tested for impairment annually in the fourth fiscal quarter, unless there are events
requiring an earlier assessment or changes in circumstances during an interim period that indicate
these assets may not be recoverable. Verizon believes its estimates and assumptions are reasonable and
represent appropriate marketplace considerations as of the valuation date. Although the company uses
consistent methodologies in developing the assumptions and estimates underlying the fair value
calculations used in its impairment tests, these estimates are uncertain by nature and can vary from
actual results. It is possible that in the future there may be changes in the assumptions, including
estimated cash flow projections, margins, and growth rates and discount rates which could result in
different fair value estimates and an impairment charge. F) Is the company in a highly regulated
industry?

Giving Back To A Community Analysis
As someone who strongly believes in the value of community, giving back is the least I can do. From
an early age, I was taught that giving back to others is one of the greatest joys in life. When I was a
child, my parents and I made care packages of cooked food and fruits and vegetables and delivered
them to people who were in desperate need in a slum of Tehran. Seeing their smiles and eagerness to
reach those packages was both the best and the worst feeling of my life. I made me happy that I could
bring smiles to their faces and maybe a little bit of hope to some families, but I was saddened as I
witnessed the tragic lives of so many people. Poverty is a challenge that faces many, but it is hard to

The Role Of Women In Persepolis
In the distance, chaos builds and guns are shot. By standing up for their rights, people are dying in
riots. These riots were about women. All around the world, women are treated differently. The graphic
novel, Persepolis, enlightens readers about the Islamic Revolution and how women were treated
during that time. Because the author was young when she experienced the Islamic Revolution, the
novel is in the perspective of her as a little girl. In the book No God But God, readers are educated
about Muhammad s views of women and the religion of Islam. The Islam depicted in Persepolis
differs from Muhammad s original vision of Islam by treating women as inferior to men while
Muhammad s vision treats women as equals. In the novel Persepolis, men objectify women, because
they were said to be distracting. To remedy the biased thoughts of the men, women were commanded
to wear headscarves and extensive clothing that covered all skin with the exception of their face. The
Islamic Regime enforced this by making it a law to alway wear the hijab: Women s hair emanates rays
that excite men. That is why women should cover their hair! (Satrapi 74). Because women could no
longer wear what they wanted, they felt oppressed and degraded. The regime cruelly enforced the rule
by telling their citizens that it would protect women from all potential rapists since women were so
exposed. In the novel, Marji s mom s car broke down, so Marji and her dad went to pick her up. When
they saw her, she

The Professor s Big Stage By Thomas L. Friedman
In The Professor s big stage , published in New York Times, the author Thomas L. Friedman noted the
significance of traditional universities to further fructify their university experience at lower costs; he
also unraveled the reason this is urgently needed: The advancements in globalized educational
technologies are making higher education more accessible and less unique. Friedman initiates his
essay with the example of a Harvard professor, Michael Sandel, obtaining celebrity status worldwide
due to internet technologies. He then continues to argue effectively with abundant examples and
analysis that adds to the validity of this essay. Ultimately, his strong, persuasive, yet logical tone is
maintained throughout the essay. The conclusion ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the essay, Friedman makes an effort to compose his arguments in a professional and reasonable
way. Referencing to historians and scholars such as Walter Russell Mead, and examples such as San
Jose State utilizing M.I.T. online course from miles away, Friedman lays out the current situation
where technologies make accessing information and using detailed analysis, Friedman reveals the
necessity of revolutionizing universities. Because of the world values what you know more than how
you know it , that university education seems less efficient in preparing their students ready for the job
market and the dimensions beyond the campus. The detailed and rigorous analysis in this piece is one
of the key reasons why it is highly persuasive. Friedman expands on the idea of MOOC s revolution
and reasons that under the new competency based environment, the vivacious course load of post
secondary education is somewhat outdated, antiquated. His arguments are not only strong, well
supported by examples and references, his cautious and logical reasonings are carried throughout the
essay, creating a sense of validity and

Proton- Exchange Membrane Fuel Cell (PEMFC) Essay
A H2/O2 proton−exchange membrane fuel cell (PEMFC) is a clean, sustainable energy source and
suitable for the operation of small electronic device [1]. Among many problems that still exist for
PEMFC, the sluggish reactions at the cathode electrode and poor mass transport of protons and
electron decrease the fuel cell performance by increasing the activation overvoltage, or activation loss
[2]. This problem can, however, be solved by raising the fuel cell operating temperature [3], but only
up to a certain temperature before the deformation or degradatation of polymeric components occurs.
Thus, the reduction in the activation overvoltage for low temperature fuel cell operation is still
necessary when the PEMFC components are made of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Epichlorohydrin is suitable to be used as a crosslinking agent for crosslinking chitosan as it only reacts
with the hydroxyl groups of chitosan, leaving the primary amine groups free to bind with protons or

The causes and the manner of the development is not fully understood yet. The over view of
fibromyalgia is a dysfunction of the central or autonomic nervous system. It is possible that hormones,
weak immune system, stressors and a few other influences may cause this disease. Central
sensitization is the main make up of this disease. Central sensitization is a result of random nerve
activity, enlarged receptive fields, and augmented stimulus responses. Fibromyalgia includes a well
known restraint that blocks pain pathways that control spinal cord responses to painful stimuli. This
barrier is weakened in patients with fibromyalgia which helps to worsen the central

T. S. Eliot Prufrock Research Paper
T.S.Eliot wrote Prufrock poem six years before its publication in the Egoist 1917. From the first
glance at the poem one can figure out the personal touches of its writer who genuinely described the
days and nights of the places, streets and cities that he had been to. It probably was Eliot himself to
nourish such rich observations from his abundant experience; Mathiessen describes it as Prufrock
seems to spring from Eliot s detached super cultivated fastidious young man from Harvard;
(Mathiessen, 1958, 59).
Despite the fact that T.S.Eliot has called for the impersonality of poetry yet, all the assets in this poem
of The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock infer that of T.S. Eliot himself.
The epigraph: Techinqually Eliot preceded the poem

Education and Country Development
CONSIDER THE IMPORTANCE OF EDUCATION TO A COUNTRIES DEVELOPMENT
Education is the procedure of acquiring knowledge. Everyone would concur that education is the
fundamental means of life. It s objective is to mentally, physically, and emotionally promote the
person by putting them in a better place then they were previously in before. Proper education comes
in many different forms. Granted it is important to study the essential academic courses including
reading, writing, arithmetic, science, and social studies which all will help set a strong foundation for
the student. It is equally just as important that the educator offer substitute information for the well
being of the student. Education should build not only on the text that lies within a book, but should
also touch base with everyday life. Education is very crucial in a nation s development, without
education societies are facing a strong disadvantage regarding to the challenges of the world today.
Nelson Mandela stated No country can really develop unless its citizens are educated . It is possible to
say that Nelson Mandela quote was totally correct. Education is the tool that change one s world,
according to human rights education is a universal right that every individual must have and use.

Television Has Made A Major Impact On Today s Society
Television has made a major impact on today s society and everywhere you go you see people
watching television. The first successful television set was made in San Francisco, September 7, 1927
by a twenty one year old inventor named, Philo Taylor Farnsworth(TV History). Farnsworth struggled
a lot throughout his life and after many legal battles, Farnsworth died in debt from lawsuits in
1971(Philo T. Farnsworth). Almost ninety years later, a common family tradition is sitting around the
television set, watching the hit shows of the day. This tradition has been around since the television
was made a highly marketed product in the 1950s. Many wonder when prime time television came to
be such a big thing for families to watch. Generations will argue about this topic as long as television
is a household activity. I hope to provide some clarity to the argument and influence people on their
opinion of what era was and is the best era s television has been through. Some people may say the
best time to watch television was when the television first came out, and sports were broadcasted.
Others may say that the current era is the best era we may ever have due to the mass media featured. I
believe, arguably, the best time for televisions was in the 1950s and 1960s. That era was called the
Golden Age and rightfully so. With historical memories like the Beatles debuting on The Ed Sullivan

The Confederate Wins and Losses
On April 12,1865 Confederate warships bombed the union at Fort Sumter in South Carolina and this
marked the beginning of one of the worst and deadliest wars fought in the world. It was a war that
only lasted around four years but yet took 620,000 of our brothers, sisters, and children with it.
Families were torn apart, sons had lost their fathers, mothers lost their sons, and whole towns lost
every man they had to give. A war that we fought on our land, a war that made brother fight brother,
killed almost as many men as every war America has fought since combined. At First the Union
believed they were going to fight at least a couple battles and it would all be over with, but oh was the
Union wrong. They under estimated the wholeheartedly fighting Confederate soldiers, the
Confederates were not going to give up that easily what they needed, what they wanted, and their way
of life. Between the battle of Fort Sumter a Confederate victory and the First battle of Bull Run anther
Confederate victory, there were nine other smaller battles many not large enough to truly be called a
battle. Of those nine battles three were won by the Confederates and two were inconclusive. At the
first battle of Bull Run, the Union still believed that this is going to be a very short war, they believed
it so much that spectators came and lined the sides of the battlefield to watch the Union smash the
Confederate Army. Of the spectators most we re just common folk or people near that community, but

The Controversy-Out Of Detroit
At a point in history where there was so much controversy over segregation and where minorities
were treated unfairly it was easy to see that there was no one solution to such a problem. One may
have anticipated that the road to equal rights would be a long and bumpy one. However, they may not
have anticipated that a start up record label out of Detroit would play an important role in the
movement towards Civil Rights. This record label would change the face of music in the 60s to allow
for young African American artists to enter the scene with a fighting chance. In 1959, an African
American man named Berry Gordy took initiative and started his own record label in Detroit. This

style, manners, and diction was based on the style of White Americans. He knew that to sell music his
artists had to appeal to a white audience. Motown records went to great lengths to get favorable press
from white publications. The label was extremely active in promoting its artists and music through
media by establishing a tight knit relationship with Detroit, which loved Motown and fed into its
success greatly. The direct connection of Motown to a community allowed for fans to feel as though
they were part of the Motown team. Thanks to it s popularity, African American songs and faces
entered the homes of every American in the country, regardless of race, (The Sixties). Motown
achieved crossover success by adding the expectations and style of white Americans to African
American artists and the black sound that America had been rejecting. The sound with the new,
cleaned up look of the artists at Motown Records appealed to black and white audiences everywhere.
The crossover of Motown opened many doors for African Americans during this time period by
initiating the acceptance of black role models in American society. The African American base of

Iran And The Iranian Hostage Crisis
In 1979, the Iranian hostage crisis would occur; this event would damage and sever ties between Iran
and the United States for years to come. Over the years, Iran would have hard line leaders that would
only further isolate themselves from western powers and more specifically the US. It would be
another 30 plus years before Iran would seek out the US and have a conversation between the two

Former President Ahmadinejad set Iran back years by putting Iran into extreme isolation from the
international community. His continued badgering with the international community, eventually lead
to a nuclear stand off with world powers. With what seems to be the Ayatollah s blessing, President
Rouhani has so far shown promise to ease the country s relations and assume a solution on the nuclear
issue. For Washington, meanwhile, the election offered stark confirmation that its strategy is working,
at least to a point. The outcome confirmed that political will for a nuclear deal exists within the
Islamic Republic. In other words, the path out of isolation and economic crisis is perilous, but Iran s
new president, who has sometimes been dubbed the sheikh of diplomacy, may just be the right man at
the right moment to walk it. (Maloney, 2013)
If President Rouhani can bring his country out of sanctions, resume oil exports and trade, they can
become a functioning country again. Although, there is a slim chance that Iran doesn t continue to
support terrorist organizations and continue nuclear enrichment in some capacity. As long as President
Rouhani remains president, it is expected that he will do as much as possible to continue to further his
country and bring them out of isolation with the world and specifically the west.

Strong leadership is taking ownership of a responsibility, willingly, creatively and effectively. Strong
leaders provide direction and support through unstable times, think deeply about the future, account
everyone s beliefs and opinions, and influence their followers. Every successful leader needs four
qualities; confidence, fairness, intelligence and persuasiveness. One of history s strongest leaders was
William Lyon Mackenzie King. Mackenzie King is remembered as one of the greatest Canadian

Strong leaders require the character trait of fairness as it shows equal treatment and respect of different
opinions, and avoids many conflicts. Mackenzie King demonstrated fairness with the English and
French speakers in Canada to unite Canada as one, and to avoid conflicts. For example, when King
was first elected in 1921, his major goal was to unite all Canadians, mainly focusing on Protestants
and Catholics. A month prior to being elected, King wrote in his diary; A United Canada I made the
first consideration...I want farmers, labour, soldiers, business and professions represented, and balance
between Protestants, and Catholics. This demonstrates the fairness Mackenzie King shows towards all
labour workers and professions as well as both Anglophones and Francophones, even before getting
elected. His first consideration is a balance between Protestants and Catholics , which displays the
significance fairness has in King s eyes, as it shows that King s first priority is the fairness between
the two groups. Specifically, Mackenzie King demonstrates his fairness with French and English
during the Conscription Crisis of 1944. To obtain the support from the French, King had pledged The

The Impact Of The Emancipation Proclamation
Although there were more than four million slaves living in the U.S. at this time, the Emancipation
Proclamation did not formally free a single one of them. So that presents us with a couple of very
interesting questions: first, why did Lincoln issue the proclamation if it had no practical effect?
Second, why is the Emancipation Proclamation considered Lincoln s most important legacy if it didn t
actually free anyone? Washington D.C., summer 1862. The Civil War had been going on for over a
year, and it was not going well for Abraham Lincoln. 11 of the 15 southern states where slavery was
legal had formed the Confederate States of America (CSA) and were waging a war to break free from
the United States. Lincoln was determined that the nation was not going to fall apart on his watch.
During the first year of the civil war, the Confederate Army had won the majority of important battles.
When Lincoln became president, he had had no intention of abolishing slavery. Though he personally
despised slavery and had won the presidency on an anti slavery platform, he would gladly have given
up any chance of ending slavery in the South if it meant that the Confederate states would rejoin the
United States. With no hope of bringing the South back into the United States by protecting slavery,
Lincoln had a new dilemma. His own political party, the Republicans, had formed around their
opposition to slavery. Many of the more radical politicians in the party saw the secession of the South
as the best opportunity to abolish slavery once and for all. As the US war dead piled up, more and
more Northerners began to push Lincoln to punish the states that had seceded by making abolition a
major goal of the war. The problem with abolishing slavery, however, was that there were still four
slave states that had not seceded from the United States: Missouri, Kentucky, Maryland, and
Delaware. Lincoln feared that if he advocated emancipation he would provoke those states into joining
the Confederacy, making the war even more difficult to win. Of the border states, Maryland was
particularly worrisome, because the US capital at Washington D.C. sat on its border with Virginia. If
Maryland decided to join the Confederacy, Washington D.C.

Matthew Mark And Luke
Introduction
The Gospels Matthew, Mark and Luke are referred to as the Synoptic Gospels because they share a
common vision of the life of Jesus. Among the fundamental issues of Gospel scholarship is the
question of their literary relationship. Because they are so alike, the question that arises is whether any
of the Gospel authors had access to the other Gospels and other potential sources to compose their
own. This paper will provide an overview of the hypothetical missing Gospel designated Q after the
German word Quelle, meaning source and if it impacts the historical reliability of the New Testament.
What is Source Criticism?
The intention of source criticism is to expose earlier sources that may have been utilized in the
development ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Source Q is the only one that is common to Luke and Mathew. Scholars assume that Q existed due to
the large portions of Luke and Matthew are essentially identical to each other and that are not found in
Mark. While an explanation for this may be that Luke copied Matthew (or vice versa) it would not
explain the problem of why these two Gospels radically differ from one another on other respects. If
either Luke or Matthew derived their Gospel from the other, then it would be expected that far more
common material and shared themes would be present. Therefore the majority of scholars hypothesize
that Matthew and Luke shared source Q in addition to the Gospel of Mark. Modern scholarship on Q
considers it not as a single source but instead a set of shorter sayings all of which may not have been
utilized by Matthew and Luke. No manuscript of Q has ever been found but its assumed existence is

What Castles Were Built During The Middle Ages
Castles were built during the Middle Ages for the purpose of protection from foreign invaders. In
Britain, many castles were built along the borders in order to stop raids from the Welsh and the Scots.
By building castles along the borders, the British could also launch a series of raids in return. A castle
also demonstrated a lord s power over a particular land. If invaders had taken over a castle, they could
use it to help control the land that they had taken. A castle was a home for a lord and his family. It was
a defensible place where a lord could defend himself against his enemies like his rival lords. A castle
was a safe place where a lord and his knights could return to. The Normans successfully conquered
Britain in 1066. The leader ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This caused the need for castle designs to be changed. The first castles were mounds of earths which
were built for defence as enemies had difficulties climbing over them. The Normans then developed
the Motte and Bailey castle designs. A Motte was a large mound of earth, and a Bailey was the
flattened land beside the mound. [4] Motte and Bailey castles took a small amount of time to build and
it was very hard to attack. Castle architects developed a way to further strengthen the Motte and
Bailey Castle which was building a shell keep a thin ring of stone around the buildings on top of the
castle Motte. [4] Castle architects then constructed a castle made from stone. Stone was much harder
to be stormed by attackers and it was protected against fire. A new style of constructing castles
developed which was the gothic style. Gothic castles were much more imposing and comfortable to
live in. In 1270, concentric castles were then developed. They had thicker outer walls and rings of
extra outer walls. [4] Concentric castles were very expensive stone castles. In Northern Wales, Edward
I built some concentric castles. After the development of cannons, castle walls were easily
destroyable. The nobles then decided to turn the castles into imposing grand

Reflection About Basketball
Setbacks are a natural part of life that, yet it seems like I have had more than my share. In my short
seventeen years of living, I have encountered more obstacles than most girls my age. Though I have
encountered multiple setbacks, I have never stopped reaching for my dream. Since I was young, I ve
had the desire to grow up and become a collegiate volleyball player. I was told by numerous coaches
that I had a natural talent, things came easy to me. Though the game of volleyball came easy to me,
the obstacles I have faced throughout my career were not easy. I have been through countless injuries

The game of volleyball has been a part of my life since the fourth grade. At a young age, I was playing

achieve a collegiate level. The volleyball court is a place where I have always found my comfort and
my confidence. It is a place where I could go to find myself, no matter what was going on in my life.

Argumentative Essay About Kobe Bryant
As it stands today, Kobe Bryant is the best basketball player to have ever played the game. Some
argue that Michael Jordan was better, but he was not. Some argue that Lebron James is better, but he is
not. To compare him to the men who played the center position is a waste of time. Obviously
Shaquille O Neal, Wilt Chamberlain, and Kareem Abdul Jabbar were more dominant. They were
freaks of nature. What Kobe had that set him apart from everyone else was a skill set and mentality
that is unmatched. Kobe is the best player first and foremost because he was a Los Angeles Laker for
twenty years. Some may say that my bias towards Kobe as a Laker fan discredits my argument, but it
does not. First, a list of his accomplishments. Kobe was drafted out of highschool at the age of
seventeen, broke into the league by winning the Slam Dunk contest in his rookie season, and by age of
twenty five he was a three time world champion. He was the youngest person to be named a NBAAll
Star at the age of nineteen. The combination of his talents with the talents of Shaquille O Neal was the
greatest one two punch of all time. That is an objective fact. Shaq himself has even admitted that had
the duo stayed together after the 2004 season, they most certainly would have gone on to win
additional world championships, but Kobe didn t need Shaq. When it was all said and done, Kobe
ended up with five rings to his name to O Neals four all five with the Lakers I might add. I won t lie,

The Anti-Hero In The Quiet American
How do you measure the life of one person against the greater good? Can it ever be the right thing to
sacrifice an innocent person? And how do you know what the greater good really is? (Amy Engel, The

American , uses to justify his part in the murder of an innocent man. Thomas Fowler embodies none
of the qualities typically assigned to an protagonist, being a man whose failings from being an

queenship to build up power. She stated that Hatshepsut used god s wife as her title, reminiscent of
Ahmose Nefertari. Further, Robins talked about Hatshepsut s kingship and argued that Hatshepsut
could become a king due to her strong personality and the coruler political system in ancient Egypt.
Moreover, Robins talked about Hatshepsut s daughter s important role. Then she discussed Hatshepsut
s unusualness and argued that she was a fusion of female and male. Finally, Robins argued that
Thutmose III was willing to rule with Hatshepsut and didn t hate her. ... Show more content on

First, Hatshepsut had a forceful character so that she knew how to choose male officials. The fortunes
of these people were tied to her, so they were willingly controlled by a female king. Second, two kings
could rule simultaneously according to the Egyptian political system, allowing Hatshepsut to continue
her kingship without expel Thutmose III. Last but not least, Hatshepsut was not a pacifist, but rather,
she had a fighting character. The first and second hypotheses were persuasive, because they were
based on solid supportive sources. The third argument, nevertheless, lacked adequate and convincing

A Brief Note On Random Forest Tree Based Approach It Uses...
COMPARISON OF CLASSIFIERS
CLASSIFIER CATEGORY DESCRIPTION REFERENCE
Naive Bayes Probability based classifier This classifier is derived from Naïve Bayes conditional
probability. This is suitable for datasets having less number of attributes. [5]
Bayesian Net Probability based classifier Network of nodes based on Naïve Bayes classifier is termed
as Bayesian Net. This can be applied to larger datasets as compared to Naïve Bayes. [9]
Decision Tree (J48) Tree based approach It is enhanced version of C 4.5 algorithm and used ID3. [15]
Random Forest Tree based approach It is also a decision tree based approach but have more accuracy

a similar development leads rules extraction techniques to make poorer sets of rules. DT algorithms
perform a variety method of nominal attributes and can t handle continuous ones directly. As result, an
outsized variety of ml and applied math techniques will solely be applied to information sets
composed entirely of nominal variables. However, an awfully giant proportion of real information sets
embrace continuous variables: that s variables measured at the interval or magnitude relation level.
One answer to the present drawback is to partition numeric variables into variety of sub ranges and
treat every such sub range as a class. This method of partitioning continuous variables into classes is
sometimes termed discretization. Sadly, the quantity of how to discretize a continual attribute is
infinite. Discretization could be a potential long bottleneck, since the variety of attainable
discretization is exponential within the number of interval threshold candidates at intervals the domain
[14]. The goal of discretization is to seek out a collection of cut points to partition the range into a
little variety of intervals that have sensible category coherence, that is sometimes measured by an
analysis operate. Additionally to the maximization of reciprocality between category labels and
attribute values, a perfect discretization technique

My College and Career choices
My College and Career choices
My three college choices are University of Florida, University of Seattle and Ohio University. Each of
these colleges have good qualities for my careers. I m not very sure what exactly I want to have a
career in. Two of my main choices are veterinarian or child care. Some of my concerns are the
distance, cost of tuition, the quality of the program, and the recreation at the colleges. University of
Florida is my first choice. The tuition for my enrollment would be $6,270. With this college there are
16 programs for this university. For each semester you need to have 15 credits. To get in to this
college you are based on scholarships and on academic achievement and you must have a 3.0 GPA or

Some of these are team sports for basketball, football and more. They also have an amazing band.
Ohio State is very close to home. and is in state.
I talked about how I wasn t really sure what I wanted to do as my career. I thought of either child care
or veterinarian. Job requirements for child care are you have to be able to take act in a emergency
situation. You need to be able to connect with kids and show them you care. This is a very social job
too. Working conditions for this job could be outside, inside, at home, at a day care, or in a school.
The job requirements for a veterinarian is you need the skills. You need to have passion for animals,
you need business skills, and social skills. The working conditions for this job can be in a clinic and/or
outside. This job can be a traveling job, such as farms or other homes.
The salary for child care can range from $45,000 to 116,000. The salary range for a veterinarian is
from $49,000 to $113,000. These are really good paying jobs that could really provide enough for me.
The benefits for child care are you get to interact with kids and connect to them on another level. The
benefits for veterinarian are interacting with animals and to help their needs and stay alive.
These are to good supporting jobs. There are more and more clinics for vets and children. I feel I will
probably end up working for someone close and then try to start my own business in Florida. Both of

Antony And Cleopatra Comparison Analysis
In Antony and Cleopatra, Shakespeare shifts from praising Antony as a great warrior to condemning
him by depicting the gradual decline of his honor and image in order to show his inner battle between
reason and emotion. This is an apparent theme in both the book and the play, though there might be
some small differences, both shows how this inner battle defeats him and leaves Cleopatra with most
of the power. One thing that I noticed is that Cleopatra seemed far more regal in the book than in the
play. For example, in the book when Antony wants Scarus to kiss her favoring hand (205), he makes it
sound like a big honor that he is able to do this. In addition, the way he describes her makes me
imagine that it is a regal and important moment. In the play, however she does a little dance after he
kisses her hand, which to me seemed like she was acting inappropriately and taking away the
importance of the moment. It is almost as if she was undermining what the warrior had done. She
made what should have been a serious and honorable moment and turned it into a joke. Even though
Antony loves Cleopatra his rational side takes over when he decides to marry Octavia in order to show
his loyalty to Rome. He knows that his duty is to Rome and it is where he is supposed to be and the
people of Rome are not happy about all of the time he has been spending in Egypt. To fix this and
mend their bond Antony agrees to marry Caesar s sister Octavia. This mend is shown when Caesar
says that the

Effects Of Air Pollution Essay
An increase in Gross Domestic Product (GDP) leads to worsening environmental condition in poor
countries. This inverse relation is shown in the environmental Kuznets s curve. Economic growth is
perceived to be able to achieve both economic and environmental objectives, whereas the
environmental policy may impede economic growth. This turns limits to economic growth and
environmentally unfavorable stage of development. Air pollution is a most dangerous problem faced
by both developed and developing countries in the world. Industrialization and urbanization have
resulted in deterioration of air quality. Urban air pollution problems reached a crisis in many cities of
the developing countries. There are several preventable diseases resulting from air pollution. Human
health is very closely linked to environmental quality. According to official statistics, 25% of all
endemic diseases are caused by detrimental environmental factors. Suspended Particulate Matter
(SPM), Carbon monoxide, oxides of Nitrogen, Sulphur dioxide etc. are considered as the major air
pollutants. In most megacities of India, the concentration of a number of air pollutants is much higher
than WHO recommended levels. For instance, the capital city of India, New Delhi, is one of the top
ten most polluted cities in the world. Literature reviews show that in New Delhi, the incidence of
respiratory diseases due to air pollution is about twelve times the national average. In urban India,

Siu Lan Huang Wu Short Story Project Written response questions The Possibility of Evil Do you
think that Dave does the right thing by sending the letter to Don Crane in person? Why or why not?
Miss Strangeworth thinks she has to watch over her town. She thinks she has to fix everything in her
town because she sees evil where there is none. Because of Ms. Strangeworth paranoid of fixing
things, she sends anonymous letters hoping she could stop the trouble. However, one day she drops a
letter and Dave picks the letter sending it to Don Crane. I think Dave does the right thing by sending
the letter to Don Crane. Someone has to stop what Ms. Strangeworth is doing, otherwise more people
could get hurt. Why does Ms. Strangeworth think that others in the town are evil? I think is because
first, Ms. Strangeworth thinks she is flawless without any drop of evilness. Second, because of her
arrogance makes her thinks that everyone else is evil and cruel. Ms. Strangeworth s ego makes her

Why The Legislative Branch Is The Strongest Collins 1 Ciara Collins PS 122: American Politics: Issues and Institutions Essay Two 11/5/2014 Which of the three branches of the federal government (Congress, the Presidency, and the Judiciary) is the strongest? Why do you think this is the case? The Legislative Branch is one out of the three branches of the government. All the branches of the federal government play a super important part in Government. However, the Legislative Branch is the strongest branch. All of the Legislative Branches privileges and powers are well defined in the U.S Constitution. All of the Legislative Branches rights and powers are defined in the U.S Constitution. The U.S Constitution wanted to divide powers within the three branches of the federal government. Of course there is a balance of powers between the branches and all three branches are fairly equal as some Americans like to say but Congress has one advantage in particular, power of the purse. Congress approves budgets. If they don t want to fund a project or law, they don t have to, and it s dead in the water, that is why I would have to say that Congress has the most active power. They are the only branch that can make laws after all, amend the Constitution and ultimately has approval over all decisions affecting the nation as a whole. This seems like a clear reason on why the Legislative is so strong, it is the fact that they have so much power. Congress is the only one out of all three branches that is elected by popular vote, which can say a lot for the people. It is supposed to represent the will of the people. The Executive branch is ultimately responsible to Congress and remember that Congress can impeach a President, but a President does not have the power to remove a member of Congress and thus, to the ... • 5. Social Comparison In The Classroom Most of us are guilty of comparing ourselves to other people. It happens all the time in so many different situations and environments. Social comparisons take place in the workplace, at school, within friend groups and many other areas. The social comparison theory may give us more knowledge about why and how we perform these comparisons. Leon Festinger was the psychologist who first brought up the idea of the social comparison theory. According to the theory, there exists two types of comparisons upward and downward. The upward comparisons involve comparing ourselves to other people who we believe hold an advantage in some way. Upward comparisons may cause people to want to change themselves to be on par with those of their comparisons. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For example, students may look upward to students who are performing better and then try to increase their own performance to match the others. Social comparisons may hold negative or positive effects on self esteem for students. Upward comparisons generally hold a negative effect, while downward comparisons often have a positive effect. This is not true all the time. Environmental context plays a huge role in the social comparisons of the classroom. The environment of the classroom creates a very competitive atmosphere unlike any other. Everything including the grade system, participation, presentations causes students to compare themselves to others. Students, all the time, ask each other what grade did you get on that? in order to see where they stand. Social comparison can be seen all the time and even has a major presence in movies, television and mass media. The movie Pursuit of Happiness includes a major example of the upward comparison. The Attachment Theory and Factors Damaging to Attachment Attachment Theory Relationships are the building block for personality and are significant in children s ability to grow into substantial individuals who can thrive in an often harsh world. Also furthering the work of her predecessors, Mary Main a student of both Ainsworth and Bowlby provided additional categories of attachment which included the disorganized disoriented pattern. Many children growing up in homes plagued by substance use of any nature struggle the most when into adulthood and as a result of poor attachments often develop negative relational patterns. Children in these households often develop what is known as an avoidant attachment style in which they have not maintained trust with caregivers early on thus lending to behaviors of mistrust later in life as they weren t provided stability early on. Culture and Attachment Attachment theory is a great model for understanding the maladaptive patterns of behavior many adults may present later in life. As relationship and relational patterns are developed early in life the way in which people view themselves and the world are greatly influenced by their experiences with attachment figures. Though attachment theory wishes to look at the universal inner workings of child development and attachment organization it does not fully discuss the cultural contexts. Rights And Sexual Feminism In Kate Chopin s The Awakening In the 19th century, a group of people launched the suffrage movement, and they not only cared about women s political rights, women s property and body autonomy. So we call her a forerunner of the feminist author for every effort she put in advocating women s sexual liberty, their self identity and women s own strength. • 11. Analysis Of Lone Ranger And Tonto Fistfight In Heaven By... Everyone has their own struggles that they go through in life. Some may be self inflicted, while others are just the cards that were dealt to them. Sherman Alexie s story collection The Lone Ranger and Tonto Fistfight in Heaven tells of the cards that were given to people on a reservation. This compilation of stories was the framework for Smoke Signals, which won two awards at Sundance Film Festivals. Alexie has also written other novels and poems in regard to the Native American culture. The Lone Ranger and Tonto Fistfight in Heaven was an interesting read to say the least. It tells of the alcoholism, crime, relationships, and traditions of both the present and past residents of the reservation, as well as their ancestors before the reservation was in place. Overall this book is a representation of Native American lives both on and off of the reservation, with interaction with the white people and the governing forces of the reservation. I was looking forward to seeing if this collection of stories could change the way I picture reservations. I have viewed the outskirts of a few and they did not leave a good image. The reservation in the novel is located in Spokane. From the beginning the collection has attention grabbing features, telling of a boy named Victor who is witness to his family s arguments and problems at a young age. None of it was new to him though and his perspective gives insight to how life on a reservation can be. Throughout the book ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 12. What Accounting Considerations Are There For Companies... E) What notable accounting considerations are there for companies in this industry? Most companies in the telecommunication industry rely heavily on assumptions and estimations when dealing with their number one assets: telecommunication licenses and Goodwill. A summary of the critical accounting estimates used in preparing Verizon financial statements is as follows: Wireless licenses and Goodwill are a significant component of the company s consolidated assets. Both wireless licenses and Goodwill are treated as indefinite lived intangible assets and, therefore are not amortized, but rather are tested for impairment annually in the fourth fiscal quarter, unless there are events requiring an earlier assessment or changes in circumstances during an interim period that indicate these assets may not be recoverable. Verizon believes its estimates and assumptions are reasonable and represent appropriate marketplace considerations as of the valuation date. Although the company uses consistent methodologies in developing the assumptions and estimates underlying the fair value calculations used in its impairment tests, these estimates are uncertain by nature and can vary from actual results. It is possible that in the future there may be changes in the assumptions, including estimated cash flow projections, margins, and growth rates and discount rates which could result in different fair value estimates and an impairment charge. All around the world, women are treated differently. The graphic novel, Persepolis, enlightens readers about the Islamic Revolution and how women were treated during that time. Because the author was young when she experienced the Islamic Revolution, the novel is in the perspective of her as a little girl. In the book No God But God, readers are educated about Muhammad s views of women and the religion of Islam. The Islam depicted in Persepolis differs from Muhammad s original vision of Islam by treating women as inferior to men while Muhammad s vision treats women as equals. In the novel Persepolis, men objectify women, because they were said to be distracting. To remedy the biased thoughts of the men, women were commanded to wear headscarves and extensive clothing that covered all skin with the exception of their face. The Islamic Regime enforced this by making it a law to alway wear the hijab: Women s hair emanates rays that excite men. That is why women should cover their hair! (Satrapi 74). Because women could no longer wear what they wanted, they felt oppressed and degraded. The regime cruelly enforced the rule by telling their citizens that it would protect women from all potential rapists since women were so exposed. Among many problems that still exist for PEMFC, the sluggish reactions at the cathode electrode and poor mass transport of protons and electron decrease the fuel cell performance by increasing the activation overvoltage, or activation loss [2]. This problem can, however, be solved by raising the fuel cell operating temperature [3], but only up to a certain temperature before the deformation or degradatation of polymeric components occurs. From the first glance at the poem one can figure out the personal touches of its writer who genuinely described the days and nights of the places, streets and cities that he had been to. It probably was Eliot himself to nourish such rich observations from his abundant experience; Mathiessen describes it as Prufrock seems to spring from Eliot s detached super cultivated fastidious young man from Harvard; (Mathiessen, 1958, 59). Despite the fact that T.S.Eliot has called for the impersonality of poetry yet, all the assets in this poem of The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock infer that of T.S. Eliot himself. The first successful television set was made in San Francisco, September 7, 1927 by a twenty one year old inventor named, Philo Taylor Farnsworth(TV History). Farnsworth struggled a lot throughout his life and after many legal battles, Farnsworth died in debt from lawsuits in 1971(Philo T. Farnsworth). Almost ninety years later, a common family tradition is sitting around the television set, watching the hit shows of the day. This tradition has been around since the television was made a highly marketed product in the 1950s. Many wonder when prime time television came to be such a big thing for families to watch. Generations will argue about this topic as long as television is a household activity. I hope to provide some clarity to the argument and influence people on their opinion of what era was and is the best era s television has been through. Some people may say the best time to watch television was when the television first came out, and sports were broadcasted. Others may say that the current era is the best era we may ever have due to the mass media featured. I believe, arguably, the best time for televisions was in the 1950s and 1960s. It was a war that only lasted around four years but yet took 620,000 of our brothers, sisters, and children with it. Families were torn apart, sons had lost their fathers, mothers lost their sons, and whole towns lost every man they had to give. A war that we fought on our land, a war that made brother fight brother, killed almost as many men as every war America has fought since combined. At First the Union believed they were going to fight at least a couple battles and it would all be over with, but oh was the Union wrong. They under estimated the wholeheartedly fighting Confederate soldiers, the Confederates were not going to give up that easily what they needed, what they wanted, and their way of life. Between the battle of Fort Sumter a Confederate victory and the First battle of Bull Run anther Confederate victory, there were nine other smaller battles many not large enough to truly be called a battle. Of those nine battles three were won by the Confederates and two were inconclusive. At the first battle of Bull Run, the Union still believed that this is going to be a very short war, they believed it so much that spectators came and lined the sides of the battlefield to watch the Union smash the Confederate Army. The Impact Of The Emancipation Proclamation Although there were more than four million slaves living in the U.S. at this time, the Emancipation Proclamation did not formally free a single one of them. So that presents us with a couple of very interesting questions: first, why did Lincoln issue the proclamation if it had no practical effect? Second, why is the Emancipation Proclamation considered Lincoln s most important legacy if it didn t actually free anyone? Washington D.C., summer 1862. The Civil War had been going on for over a year, and it was not going well for Abraham Lincoln. 11 of the 15 southern states where slavery was legal had formed the Confederate States of America (CSA) and were waging a war to break free from the United States. Lincoln was determined that the nation was not going to fall apart on his watch. During the first year of the civil war, the Confederate Army had won the majority of important battles. When Lincoln became president, he had had no intention of abolishing slavery. Though he personally despised slavery and had won the presidency on an anti slavery platform, he would gladly have given up any chance of ending slavery in the South if it meant that the Confederate states would rejoin the United States. With no hope of bringing the South back into the United States by protecting slavery, Lincoln had a new dilemma. His own political party, the Republicans, had formed around their opposition to slavery. Many of the more radical politicians in the party saw the secession of the South as the best opportunity to abolish slavery once and for all. As the US war dead piled up, more and more Northerners began to push Lincoln to punish the states that had seceded by making abolition a major goal of the war. The problem with abolishing slavery, however, was that there were still four slave states that had not seceded from the United States: Missouri, Kentucky, Maryland, and Delaware. Lincoln feared that if he advocated emancipation he would provoke those states into joining the Confederacy, making the war even more difficult to win. Of the border states, Maryland was particularly worrisome, because the US capital at Washington D.C. sat on its border with Virginia. If Maryland decided to join the Confederacy, Washington D.C. ... Among the fundamental issues of Gospel scholarship is the question of their literary relationship. If either Luke or Matthew derived their Gospel from the other, then it would be expected that far more common material and shared themes would be present. Therefore the majority of scholars hypothesize that Matthew and Luke shared source Q in addition to the Gospel of Mark. DT algorithms perform a variety method of nominal attributes and can t handle continuous ones directly. As result, an outsized variety of ml and applied math techniques will solely be applied to information sets composed entirely of nominal variables. However, an awfully giant proportion of real information sets embrace continuous variables: that s variables measured at the interval or magnitude relation level. One answer to the present drawback is to partition numeric variables into variety of sub ranges and treat every such sub range as a class. This method of partitioning continuous variables into classes is sometimes termed discretization. Sadly, the quantity of how to discretize a continual attribute is infinite. Discretization could be a potential long bottleneck, since the variety of attainable discretization is exponential within the number of interval threshold candidates at intervals the domain [14]. The goal of discretization is to seek out a collection of cut points to partition the range into a little variety of intervals that have sensible category coherence, that is sometimes measured by an analysis operate. Additionally to the maximization of reciprocality between category labels and attribute values, a perfect discretization technique ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 45. Antony And Cleopatra Comparison Analysis In Antony and Cleopatra, Shakespeare shifts from praising Antony as a great warrior to condemning him by depicting the gradual decline of his honor and image in order to show his inner battle between reason and emotion. This is an apparent theme in both the book and the play, though there might be some small differences, both shows how this inner battle defeats him and leaves Cleopatra with most of the power. One thing that I noticed is that Cleopatra seemed far more regal in the book than in the play. For example, in the book when Antony wants Scarus to kiss her favoring hand (205), he makes it sound like a big honor that he is able to do this. In addition, the way he describes her makes me imagine that it is a regal and important moment. In the play, however she does a little dance after he kisses her hand, which to me seemed like she was acting inappropriately and taking away the importance of the moment. It is almost as if she was undermining what the warrior had done. She made what should have been a serious and honorable moment and turned it into a joke. Even though Antony loves Cleopatra his rational side takes over when he decides to marry Octavia in order to show his loyalty to Rome. He knows that his duty is to Rome and it is where he is supposed to be and the people of Rome are not happy about all of the time he has been spending in Egypt. To fix this and mend their bond Antony agrees to marry Caesar s sister Octavia. This mend is shown when Caesar says that the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 46. Effects Of Air Pollution Essay An increase in Gross Domestic Product (GDP) leads to worsening environmental condition in poor countries. This inverse relation is shown in the environmental Kuznets s curve. Economic growth is perceived to be able to achieve both economic and environmental objectives, whereas the environmental policy may impede economic growth. This turns limits to economic growth and environmentally unfavorable stage of development. Air pollution is a most dangerous problem faced by both developed and developing countries in the world. Industrialization and urbanization have resulted in deterioration of air quality. Urban air pollution problems reached a crisis in many cities of the developing countries. There are several preventable diseases resulting from air pollution. Human health is very closely linked to environmental quality. According to official statistics, 25% of all endemic diseases are caused by detrimental environmental factors. Suspended Particulate Matter (SPM), Carbon monoxide, oxides of Nitrogen, Sulphur dioxide etc. are considered as the major air pollutants. In most megacities of India, the concentration of a number of air pollutants is much higher than WHO recommended levels. For instance, the capital city of India, New Delhi, is one of the top ten most polluted cities in the world. Literature reviews show that in New Delhi, the incidence of respiratory diseases due to air pollution is about twelve times the national average. In urban India, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
