Social Location Analysis
a. Social location/pg. 3: the group memberships that people have because of their location in history
and society. This term was represented specifically in many parts of the documentary. The migrant
workers are able to live better off when they live in groups. The group s sizes do vary but it tends to be
a bit larger than the normal size of an average American family. The migrant workers live this way
because of the wages that they earn. The more members of the group they have the more money they
will bring in from working in the fields. The social location relates to the migrant workers in very
direct ways. This happens because of how they are classified in society. The migrants feel as if the
fruit and vegetable fields are their ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Ethnocentrism/pg. 36: the use of one s own culture as a yardstick for judging the ways of other
individuals or societies, generally leading to a negative evaluation of their values, norms, and
behaviors. Ethnocentrism occurs in the documentary multiple times. One specific time is when Perla
Sanchez, who is 14 years old fantasizes about her life like most of her other class mates who don t
have to work the fields. She compares her life to theirs and envies them. Perla is faced with the
horrible truth that her life is far from being like theirs and that her reality is that of travel, hard work,
poverty and a lifestyle she does not wish to continue living. As soon as Perla begins to get close with
friends or begins to learn things at a school she is forced to migrate with the rest of her family to
where the work is in the fields. It is hard for her to do this time and time again. When Perla is at
school she is able to feel somewhat normal and wanted much more by her classmates. It is a way for
her to potentially escape her dreadful reality. For a period of time in the day she is able to escape her
home life and feel normal. When she returns home, or to the fields to work she is quickly reminded of
what she feels she is missing out on in life and that she wishes something better for herself and her
family. It is easy for Perla to compare her life to the lives of her classmates at school and feel as if her
life is inferior to theirs. This is the basis around

Patient Safety Culture Analysis
The culture of patient safety is a multifaceted and multivariate variable in health care systems
management that is often misapprehended. A definition that is used for a culture of safety speaks to a
summary of organizational values views, capabilities, and thoughts that define how organizations
respond to health and safety issues in organization (Sammer, Lykens, Singh, Mains, Lackan, 2010).
My experience in patient safety working at the Mandeville Regional Hospital in Jamaica as a medical
doctor has been an important one. I have observed many instances where the hospital has taken
precautions to safeguard the health and well being of patients and I have also observed other instances
where the safety of patients have been put at risk due

The Court Of A Bench Trial Essay
Our judicial system works hard every day to uphold the rule of law. Whether you are sitting in on a
case, watching Court TV, watching legal based movies, or whatever it may be, you notice that there
are different parties and people involved in the whole charade. There are different jobs within our
court system that coincide with each other to keep our courts strong and orderly. These jobs include:
judge, bailiff, stenographer, jury, clerk, and prosecuting attorney. These different jobs have specific
duties that help the court system thrive. Judges decide on the verdict if there is a bench trial. A bench
trial is a trial by a judge as opposed to a trial by jury (Reuter, 2016). In a bench trial, the judge is an
unbiased third party advocate for justice. He or she determines the appropriate punishment and
sentence those convicted of crimes (Reuter, 2016). A judge takes on a couple of roles in a bench trial
such as, that of the referee who rules on the admissibility of evidence and decides questions of law,
and that of the finder of fact which ultimately determines how much weight to give the testimony of
different witnesses and the credibility of the evidence (American Bar Association, n.d.). Some cases
must be handled by a judge in a bench trial. A federal judge who presides may be an Article III, Judge
or a Magistrate Judge (Gray,Ritter, Graham, P.C., 2015). An Article III, Judge is a judge of the United
States Supreme Court, the federal court of appeals and district

As-Built Drawing Research Paper
As built Drawings are a very important piece of information that every project must record. As Built
drawings are also called Record Drawings. As Built drawings demonstrate how the contractor built the
project and what changes were made during the construction process. Transferring the revisions and
completing the markups on the As Built drawings must be executed carefully to a final as built set of
drawings. These final as built drawings will contain modifications, field changes; shop drawing
changes, design changes, extra works and every change that was approved and made during
construction. The AIA has defined and made a clear distinction between the following terms: Record

Comparing Beowulf And Gilgamesh In A Heroic Epic
English epic essay. I believe Beowulf fits the majority of the characteristics compared to Dante and
Gilgamesh in a heroic epic. Dante shows quite a few characteristics but he went through his journey
for himself because he needed to reflect on his past shames to look forward to a better future.
Gilgamesh also went on his journey for himself to find immortality because he feared death and what
his status/evil doings will bring him in the afterlife. Beowulf went on his journey to save others and
build his name which is more than what the others did. Going over each of the characteristics a hero in
an epic needs beowulf has the most. Most epics have a noble or wealthy main character which fits
gilgamesh and beowulf but not dante. Dante was a political man which may give him respect but does
not make him noble or wealthy. Gilgamesh was a king giving him wealth and noble standing and
beowulf was the nephew of a king made to be a warrior also giving him noble standing. While
beowulf shares this trait with gilgamesh, beowulf being a warrior knows trouble and strife while
gilgamesh sat on his thrown showing off his god strength occasionally, not knowing hardships in life.

Gilgamesh has great strength because he is two thirds god so it s a given that he has great strength and
showed it many times while chasing immortality but is weak on the courage front because he feared
death so much. Beowulf also has great strength strength and it was shown to everyone since he was
young which is why they made him a warrior. Beowulf also showed great courage when he went out
of his way to defeat Grendel in danesland even though he could not use swords and only strength.
Dante did not have great strength because he was a normal man but showed great courage when going

Chronic Low Back Pain Essay
Effectiveness of Therapeutic Exercises for Chronic Low Back Pain
Low back pain (LBP) is a major cause of disability wherein it involves nerves, muscles and bones of
the back (Luciana G Macedo, 2008). The sensation of pain that can be felt can be a dull constant ache
or a sudden sharp feeling (National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke, 2015). The pain
felt is identified below the margin of the last ribs and above the inferior gluteal lines. The pain is
usually caused by certain conditions such as osteoarthritis, herniated discs, rheumatoid arthritis, etc.
Depending on its duration, low back pain can be classified as acute of the pain is less than 6 weeks,
sun chronic if it the pain is around 6 to 12 weeks, or chronic if the pain ... Show more content on

The Death Of Breast Cancer
Breast cancer isn t a death sentence as it was before. Women used to fear being diagnosed with this
disease because there was no cure for it. Breast cancer has been around for centuries, but the
advancement of medicine has increased the chances of survival, and in the future the improvements
will be even greater. The first mention of breast cancer was documented in Egypt in 1600 B.C. It was
considered a mysterious disease with no cure to it. In The Edwin Smith Papyrus, there are eight cases
of tumors or ulcers in the breast. During these times, the people believed it was caused by a lack of
sexual activity and physical injuries. Because of the fact that people believed there was no cure, no
one did anything to try to solve the problem. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
With the advancement of medicine, diagnosing breast cancer is much easier now than it was before.
Mammograms are a very common way of diagnosing breast cancer. A mammogram takes x rays of the
breasts and checks for any abnormalities in the breast. A breast ultrasound is also another way of
diagnosing breast cancer. Ultrasounds use sound waves to produce images of structures deep within
the body .(Mayo Foundation for Medical Education .) The only way to be sure that a patient s lump is
cancerous or not, is by performing a biopsy. During the procedure doctors take cells from the affected
area and test them to see if they are cancerous. The biopsy also determines the aggressiveness of the
cancer, and what type of treatment would be the best for the patient s type of cancer. Not all patients
can receive the same form of treatment. There are many ways to treat breast cancer, one being
chemotherapy. Chemotherapy uses drugs that kills cancer cells. One of the three major purposes of
chemotherapy is to prevent the cancer from coming back after surgery and radiation. That is called
adjuvant therapy. Another one of the reasons that patients choose the treatment of chemotherapy, is to
shrink the tumor. If the tumor is smaller than it will be easier to remove during surgery. There is an
advantage to chemotherapy because the surgery becomes more risky if the tumor is bigger. The last
reason for chemotherapy is

How Does Hitchcock Create Emotional Tension In The Birds
The Birds is considered one of Hitchcock s most memorable films, and is known as a classic horror
film because of the concept of birds randomly attacking people. The film centers on a man and a
woman merging in with his family and only then do the birds start attacking and disrupting their
already tense atmosphere as the feelings between the protagonists Melanie and Mitch begin to
blossom. Hitchcock creates the birds as a metaphor for the emotional turmoil between the couple and
the characters, as it allows them all to develop throughout the film.
Melanie is uncomfortable among Mitch and his family because of her feelings for him. This is further
supported when Melanie s relationship with his mother Lydia becomes strained due to awkward
interactions,

The Impact Of Movie Release On Tourism Demand Over Countries
THE IMPACT OF MOVIE RELEASE ON TOURISM DEMAND OVER COUNTRIES:
EMPIRICAL ANALYSIS OF THAILAND TOURISM INDUSTRY
Saisang Apichatvorapong (Management)
Directed by Yeujun Yoon
ABSTRACT
The main purpose of this thesis is to find out more information about the impacts of movie release that
has on the tourism demand in Thailand. Since it has been proved that movies can influence tourists to
visit a location shown in the movies (Riley Van Doren, 1992), this paper will estimate the number of
tourist arrivals from movies that has the filming locations in Thailand and released overseas based on
the main economic factors such as gross domestic product (GDP), distance, and relative price, which
are often used in the tourism demand equation. Seeing that the Thai tourism industry performs an
important role in the national economy, accurate estimates of inbound tourism from movie induced
tourism can deliver useful information for both the government and private sectors working in these
areas.
Secondary data were collected for this study, where we based on 42 countries from the year between
1997 to 2014. The study employs an econometric model of tourism demand and estimated using the
method of Ordinary Least Squares (OLS).
The result shows that 2 out of the 4 hypotheses were supported. As expected, it indicates that movie
release and GDP are positively related to tourist arrivals, while distance and relative prices are
negatively related to tourist arrivals. Hence, the higher the number

Academic year: 2015 16 Title Measure the potential difference (V) and current (A) values by using a
variety of resistors, remaining constant EMF to find out its internal resistance. Introduction Batteries
and cells have an internal resistance (r) which is measures in ohm s (W). When electricity flows round
a circuit the internal resistance of the cell itself resists the flow of current and so thermal (heat) energy
is wasted in the cell itself. (physicsnet.co.uk,2010).  = electromotive force in volts, V I = current in
amperes, A R = resistance of the load in the circuit in ohms, Ω r = internal resistance of the cell in
ohms, Ω  I Based in the previous statement we can establish that in the real world the EMF of a
battery or any other power supply, considered as the maximum potential difference, actually is not the
same potential difference we measure across the external circuit, this is due to the presence of an
internal resistance in our power supply. Plotting the data we collect about the potential difference and

Colonial Literature Summary
Colonial Literature began with the work of English adventurers and colonists in the New World
benefit the readers in the country. Some of these early works reached the level of literature, as in the
truthful account of his adventures by Captain John Smith and the journalistic histories of John
Winthrop and William Bradford in New England. From the beginning, however, the literature of New
England was also directed to the improvement and instruction of the colonists themselves, intended to
direct them in the ways of the gods. The first literature work was published in the Puritan colonies,
was the Bay Psalm Book, and the whole effort of the divines wrote furiously to set forth their view.
Among them was Roger Williams and Thomas Hooker; who was to defend and promote visions of the
religious state. They set forth their visions in effect the first express the concept of national destiny in
a series of passion histories. Then as time went forward, you had the New Nation or New literature.
And that was basically the approach of the American Revolution and the achievement of the actual
independence of the United States was a time of intellectual activity as well as social and the
economic change. The men who were the chief molders of the new state included excellent writers,
such as Thomas Jefferson and Alexander Hamilton. They were well supported by others such as Philip

Why Does Plato Considers Ordinary Human Existence to...
WHY DOES PLATO COMPARE ORDINARY HUMAN EXISTENCE TO THAT OF CHAINED
PRISONERS IN A CAVE? Plato in his famous Allegory of Cave compared the ordinary human
existence to that of chained prisoners in a cave. According to Plato, we are all stuck in a false reality in
this world like prisoners in a cave. His cave theory still applies today in the sense that the people are
influenced and controlled by the world around them. They do not want to realize or seek the truth;
instead they wish to live in the comfort zone inside the cave. THE ALLEGORY OF THE CAVE:
PLATO, REPUBLIC. Plato assumed the existence of human life in a cave. In his view, human beings

Why we are living with shadows? Whether we are all ignorant? Or we are all lazy enough to find out
the reality? Or we are slaves of these shadows? Is everything we saw are lies, then what is the real
truth? Is knowledgeable realm, form of good is the last thing to be seen? According to Plato, the
shadows inside the cave are illusion . Buddha s first expression of enlightment was all is illusion .All
Buddhist practices aimed at disabusing a person of their illusions. Presently Buddhism teaches to
pierce through the two veils of illusion, which are conflicting emotions and false beliefs about reality.
Everything is illusion in this world. According to Advaita school of Vedanta, Brahman is the only
reality; the appearance of dualities and differences in this world is a superimposition on Brahman,
called Maya. Maya is the illusionary and creative aspect of Brahman. Advaita accepts Plato s view on
reality. Everything inside the cave is shadows and are false realities. These are temporary. Likewise
everything in this world is illusion and is temporary. According to Buddhism, reflection of yourself is
enlightment. Reflection means finding answers for Who am I? Why am I here? Where do I go after
death? What will I be? But Plato s view is that knowing reality is enlightment. Reality means form of
good. Mahayana Sutra says; The truth was never preached by the Buddha, seeing that

America s Independence Of Independence Essay
July 4,1776 was the day America would declare its Independence from their mother country England.
Thomas Jefferson drafts this Declaration of Independence using as a reference the Scottish
declaration. Declaring Independence would mean war between the British empire and America . With
only 35,000 poorly trained troops and 45,000 militias, no navy, small industry with few financial
resources the U.S was able to defeat the British Empire which had 56,000 skilled redcoats, 30,000
hessians, 50,000 loyalists, a royal navy and lots of financial resources. So the question remains how
exactly was the U.S able to win its independence against such a huge empire? The American
revolutionaries shared a set of political and social values which in essence gave meaning to their
actions. In September 1776 British army commander Sir William Howe along with his brother
Richard Howe used 32,000 Hessians to attack the American Commander General Gorge Washington
(pg.243). The brothers defeated Washington s army in several battles from Brooklyn Heights to New
York where Washington s army was saved by a storm. By then the battle for independence seemed
doomed the British General occupied New York Washington had few men. However, on Christmas
night 1776 General Washington decided to cross the Delaware and launch a surprise attack on the
Hessians camp at Trenton and succeeded, followed by the victory in Princeton which marked two of
his first victories. In the fall of 1777, general Howe planned to

The Afterlife of Ancient Greece
Where do we go when we die? This is a question that most people spiritual or not ask themselves at
least once within their lifetime. In reality, this question is likely to never be answered, but is
nevertheless an exciting area for study. Every culture, every religion and every individual person has
some type of theory or belief on what happens to us after our bodies meet their final rest, and the
ancient Greeks were no exception to this. The ancient Greek view on life after death is the most
interesting to study, and belongs to perhaps one of the most influential belief systems to emerge within
the ancient world. Rife with mythology and magic, the beliefs of the afterlife that were held by the
ancient Greek people included the idea of a heaven vs. hell, reincarnation and the notion of katabasis ,
and were so powerful they paved the way for future religions ideologies. The ancient Greeks were a
highly superstitious and spiritual people. As the Greeks had no written book or scripture of their faith,
it can be assumed that the ancient peoples lived their lives based on the stories told within their
mythology. Mythology was used for various reasons, the three major ones being as a cosmogony, as
etiological stories to explain otherwise unexplainable phenomena, and as a means to deter mortals

Endocrine System Essay
The Endocrine System
The function of the endocrine system is to regulate the body functions by the use of hormones. The
structure of the endocrine system is therefore the structure and location of all the main endocrine
glands. The pituitary gland, thyroid, pancreas, adrenal glands, and the sex glands (testes) are some of
the more important ones, but there are several others. The glands secrete hormones directly in to the
blood, which act as messengers. The nature of messenger which is released by the gland, once it has
recognised the stimulus is chemical. The messenger is transported in the blood stream, and its speed is
relatively slow. The messenger then travels to its target cells, and its ... Show more content on

The electrical messenger is transmitted through the nerve cells; this process is a lot faster than the
endocrine system, which enables the response to be that much faster as well. Another noticeable
difference in the two systems is in the type of receptors, in the endocrine system the type of receptors
is cells, while in the nervous system there are various types of receptors including heat, pressure. As in
the endocrine system, the effects of the messenger generally takes a long time, in the nervous system
the effect is immediate. And the response is also very localised sometimes directed at just one muscle.
As I mentioned earlier, in the endocrine system, the function of the endocrine system is to regulate the
body functions by the use of hormones. There are two types of hormones. Steroid hormones and
Amino acid based hormones. Steroid hormones are produced by the Adrenal Cortex, the Ovaries, and
the Testes. Steroid hormones don t have to bind with the plasma membrane receptors of the target
cells; they enter freely.
Within the cytoplasm, a steroid hormone can bind with a receptor protein; it will then enter the cell
nucleus and bind with the DNA, where it will trigger changes in the chromosomes. The Hormone
Receptor unit attaches to the DNA, this attachment activates certain genes in that cell, causing
particular proteins to be produced. Some

Respect is a word that is commonly associated with words like dignity, recognition, and consideration.
The 1960 s was a generation seeking these qualities throughout both exceptional and dreadful events,
that occurred in this time period that was becoming a culture of respect. Whether society was trying to
earn respect for their rights that they honestly deserve it was a time of standing up and fighting for
what you regard as important. Similarly to the youth of the 1920 s, adolescents of the 60 s fought
against the conservative cultures of the older generation. They provoked change by starting

Malcolm X. He believed that if they weren t given the equality that they demanded, that they should
just take it. Nobody can give you freedom. Nobody can give you equality or justice or anything. If you
re a man, you take it , he believed that violence and force was the most effective way of getting what
they wanted. As history has shown us though the nonviolent protests, lead by Martin Luther King was
more effective and made an impact on the outcome of the civil rights movement. He was inspired by
some of the greatest nonviolent advocates of history, for instance Mahatma Gandhi. King wanted to
help African Americans reach equality, by helping the less fortunate and the victims of injustice. He
did this by peaceful protests, like the march on Washington, one of the largest political rallies ever
seen. King marched for jobs and freedoms of African Americans, on August 28, 1963. At Washington
King delivered his famous I have a dream speech , where he talks about racial justice and an

The Movie Captain Fantastic
The story line of the movie Captain Fantastic is about Ben Cash a father trying to raise six children in
what he considers paradise in the wilds of the Pacific Northwest as best as he possibly can by himself.
His methods of educating his children are questioned by modern society due to tough curriculum that
aims to not just educate his children but to make them more open minded. Academically, the kids
engage in a rigorous regime of reading literary, historical, philosophical and scientific classes, as well
as learning multiple foreign languages and musical instruments. (Bowen) This movie has me in

Essay on journal on Unconditional Positive Regard
In tonight s session we have been learning further about Carl Rogers and his conditions of a successful
person centred therapy. We have been exploring Unconditional Positive Regard, a term used by
Rogers to describe a basic acceptance and support of a person regardless what they say or do.
Unconditional Positive Regard is an attitude of the counsellor towards his client. Rogers believes that
this attitude is essential to a healthy development and cause a positive therapeutic movement in a
therapy.
I find this condition; the very definition of humanity. Our species have a rare capability to understand
each other, however many of us hardly use it. It requires putting the others first, demands to put our
feelings and emotions aside. We are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In many cases, clients show signs of disbelief and sometimes even aggression towards their therapist.
The reason for that is conditional love most of us have experienced in a lifetime. This is called;
conditions of worth, since we were little children we have been told or shown that to deserve
acceptance and love we have to behave in a certain way ( e.g. Be good, patient, obedient, confident,
etc.)We are convinced that we have to be worthy of love. For most of us adults other people s
perception is very important and in many cases can even define a person. Being so used to seeing
myself through other people s eyes, being judged for what I do or have done, Unconditional Positive
Regard appears to me as almost impossible to believe. I do think that it is possibly also client s
attitude. That disbelief; that the therapist can put aside whatever I have done and see me as a worthy
person for who I am, even If I do not believe in me; probably take a while to disappear and change
into trust.
Rogers said that every one of us has within himself desire to change in a positive direction. I assume
that he meant and believed that goodness is our natural aspiration. I fully agree with him no matter
how unrealistic and ideal it might seem. If we, learning how to be a counsellor, will understand how to
be able to accept another person, regardless of their past, negative attitude or defensiveness we will

Comparing Sacrifice In Steinbeck s Of Mice And Men
When deciding between two items, their benefits are weighed against each other, and the more
favorable selection is seen as the better. The 1937 publication of the book Of Mice and Men by John
Steinbeck provides a story about friendship and sacrifice, through the connection between two
unlikely travelers, George Milton and Lennie Small. With a parallel story, the 1992 MGM film
adaptation of the book directed by Gary Sinise offers a second perspective to the same subject. Each
with its own strengths, both forms generally convey a similar story, but with slightly different
elements. As each to their own, a portion of the divided crowd favors the novel, rather than the film.
Although the reasons are plentiful, some argue that the events and emotions ... Show more content on

Rather, the depth created by the scenes absent from the film outdoes that created by the additional
scenes present in it. For example, when the workers are away at town, Lennie and Candy find
themselves in Crook s room, where the three converse about the possibility of owning land. However,
Curley s wife enters and, when Crooks demands that she leave, she belittles him, telling him, you keep
your place then, Nigger. I could get you strung up on a tree so easy it ain t even funny (Steinbeck 81).
Her diatribe at Crooks clearly shows the distinction made between herself, as a white woman, and
Crooks, as a colored man. In an attempt to raise herself, she shows that he is inferior and powerless,
due to the color of his skin. Also, with the use of the word Nigger, Steinbeck communicates how the
society within the book perceives African Americans as subordinate. With the inferiority brought unto
Crooks, he emphasizes upon racism, in such a way that the modern audience is reminded of the past
acceptance of the concept. By focusing on racism, Steinbeck also focuses on the social hierarchy
present on the ranch, in which African Americans are considered to be the lowest, in spite of one s
gender and capabilities. Through this one event, Steinbeck conveys the ideas of racism and social
hierarchy, to which the film lacks. Thus, by providing the story with

Why Bother By Michael Pollen Essay
Michael Pollan has recognized that there is an issue in today s society, and that issue is climate
change. Within the article of, Why Bother , by Michael Pollan, he talks about an effect that society
itself may have inflicted upon themselves. But looking at the actual reasoning behind why the climate
is changing is baffling. In the text of Why Bother , Michal Pollen talks about climate change is on us,
yet before reading the text, I assumed that maybe climate change was just destiny, and continues to
happen because it s due. Yet now I believe that we as a people, have actually caused climate change to
progress quicker than as planned. Pollan explains that we as a people have to be active in the change
we want to see. I can say I concur and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Pollan does a great job in filling in the gaps on feeling the urge to do something and actually acting
upon those feelings. He even shares of ways of how we could be a help and have an impact on culture.
He gave an great example on gardening. Gardening may seem small, yet has many benefits, such as
saving carbon and also we somewhat teaches us to be self sufficient. Rather than depending on society
for every little and big thing, we become reliable on ourselves and begin to show respect to the
climate, mother Earth. Also another big thing is that we are now providing our own food for ourselves,
our families, and others who may even pay to get your produce. Pollan says, as we began to garden,
we will reduce the power of the cheap energy mind by personally overcoming it s most debilitating
weakness: it s helplessness and the fact that it can t do much of anything that doesn t involve division
or subtraction. I believe the big lesson that the garden teaches us is that as long as the sun is up and we
can still plan an even plant, that there are ways we can accommodate ourselves and not weaken our

The Definition of Cyber Attack
The Definition of Cyber Attack
The most important thing that needs to be done before taking the debate on the status of cyber attacks
under international laws of war any forward is to specifically define a cyber attack . Scholars generally
use the terms such as information warfare , cyber warfare , cyber threats , computer network attacks ,
etc as alternatives for cyber attacks without a reference to any particular definition or limitation of
scope. Perhaps this is done on a supposition that a standard definition of this term is already prevalent.
This unfortunately is not true. Speaking specifically about the literature on cyber attacks, the term is
comprehended primarily in two ways: while some talk about technology and computer networks as
instruments of the attack, others use computers and information technology networks as the objects of
the attack.
The difference in the perceptions of cyber attack is rather complicating because it makes the nature of
the operative term cyber all the more ambiguous, causing serious vagueness in any use of force or
armed attack analysis. This becomes particularly problematic when applying any leading models on
the assessment of use of force because these models employ instrumentality, target and effects as the
basis for analysis. Moreover, there must be an understanding of what exactly is a cyber attack before
discussing whether it falls under the use of force notion or not because it will not only affect the value

Burmese Pythons Changing The Everglades Essay
Pythons are invading and wiping out ecosystems. Soon your home will be invaded by these invasive
Burmese pythons. Do you really want that to happen? The presence of Burmese pythons are changing

Pythons are changing the Everglades also by destroying Florida s ecosystem. A blog post by

The Conflict Between Science And Faith
In today s living, people struggle with the controversy between mind and spirit. Most times this is a
struggle between more than one person, and or a struggle between oneself. There is always a logical
side to a person and a passionate, expressive side, with the ones who decide to march under either
flag. The two sides often divide our generation, leaving some with only having put their trust in one
belief. These two sides, or beliefs bring up people such as mathematicians and artists, more relatively
science minded individuals and individuals of faith. More recently through the generations over
countless decades have these two sides become opposing forces. They have become two completely
different views of living. Francis Collins wrote this book to discuss the issue between these two
opposing forces. Francis Collins wrote and divided this book into three sections: Section one: The
Chasm Between Science and Faith, Part Two: The Great Questions of Human Existence, and Part
Three: Faith in Science, Faith in God. Section one of the book is about the story of Francis Collins
endeavor towards his new found faith and philosophical debates towards it; It being the faith. Collins
was raised with an indifference towards faith, describing his upbringing as that of being a freethinker.
Both his parents were both artistic folk, not the religious type. The only glimpse of church that Francis
Collins got was when he and his brothers had to sing at an Episcopalian church simply for

fate. It all started when three witches told Macbeth his fate, filled with a false sense of confidence, he
sets off a series of events that lead to his death.
It first started when the witches meet Macbeth at the heath. One of the witches then proceeds to tell
Macbeth, All hail, Macbeth, that shalt be king hereafter! (I, iii). Completely thrown off, Macbeth asks
the witches to explain how is it possible since the King still lives with heirs to the throne. The witches
leave without giving him an answer, and soon after Macbeth begins plotting against the King. He was
very hesitant and battled internally with the idea of killing the King. After some convincing from his
wife, Macbeth goes through with the plan stating, I have done the deed. Didst thou not hear a noise?

The First Week Of School
The first week of school was finally coming to an end and she had a wonderful idea. Each day after
work she had come up with one excuse after another to put off his request to stop by her home to
study. At least, that s what she had believed. With his help, homework had become less time
consuming than a thought. It was completed within minutes shortly after they had arrived at the mall
for their part time job and an overall subject review during each break. Each exam they had taken that
day was so simple that she was shocked that it seemed as if they had not prepared for any of the test at
all. She had never finished any exam first (actually second) in her life. The squeak in delight after she
blew through the first exam wasn t called for, but it did feel good. The person who had finished first
didn t look happy about it and she was sure for all the wrong reasons. Well, Ericson did deserve a bit
of reassuring that she wasn t using him as a tutor, but as her actual boyfriend. Her bright idea was so
simple that she couldn t help but to smile whenever she looked in his direction after that first exam.
She laid out her plan in her mind and went over it again and again. The mall wasn t due to open until
10:00 that Saturday and they weren t expected to report to work until 9:30. She decided it would be a
special treat to pay call to Ericson s home and have morning meal with him. She was certain by her

How Elizabethan Fashion Has Influenced the Modern Day...
Every generation laughs at the old fashions, but follows religiously the new. (Fashion Quotes 1) The
words once spoken by Henry David Thoreau are politically correct. People often look at Elizabethan s
choice of fashion and ridicule everything about it from the hair, down to the stockings. As it appears,
fashion has always been a broad topic of discussion in the world. Whether it is NY Fashion Week or a
Macy s fashion show, fashion is something that has always been an eye catcher. Fashion has been
around for many years, and whether we know it or not, Elizabethan fashion has influenced the way
modern fashion is today.
Elizabethan women dressed reasonably different than we do today. Women often wore many layers.

Women often times wore gloves made of cherverill, silk and velvet. The Elizabethan time period was
known for their exquisite sense of fashion. (Women s Fashion 1) Although Elizabethan fashion had
multiple tricks of the trade, modern day fashion has only few tricks worth sharing. Modern day
fashion is a more carefree approach. There aren t usually any rules when it comes what to wear, and
women are granted the freedom to choose what they would prefer to wear. Women generally enjoy
this aspect of society, since many things are still controlled. Unlike the Elizabethan women, modern
women prefer to wear jeans on an average day. T shirts with fun, different sayings on them are often
times paired with jeans. Some women even prefer to wear men s clothing, such as jeans and loafers.
Most women often wear shirts that show a little more cleavage than what would be seen as appropriate
in Elizabethan times, as seen in Figure two. (Modern day 1) Commonly, women are classified by what
sort of brands they wear, or what type of style they have, like the Elizabethans. Elizabethan fashion
influenced the modern day fashion world in many aspects. In Elizabethan times, fashion was often
used to show status in society, and was very important to women. Fashion today can be compared to
the same aspects. Women wear different brands or types of clothing to show status or capital.
Although women don t wear as many layers of dress clothing, women often are

Analysis Of The Movie King Arthur

King Arthur: Legend of the Sword is an exhilarating movie which always has you sat on the edge of
your seat as the movie is so intense and action packed as it always has something going on whether it
be a fight scene or Arthur being told something about his father and his family. King Arthur was a

There were some points in the movie when it got confusing such as when King Vortigern made a deal
with 3 creatures under his castle where the King has to sacrifice a loved one to become powerful yet
the story does not reveal who these creatures are and how they are able to give the King such power.
Not even the mage who fights to help Arthur become king tells us who is making Vortigern so
powerful.
My favourite scene in the movie is the montage of Arthur growing up as a child it shows him being
taken into care in the tavern and making friends, learning how to fight then going to adult life when he
works and steals for money and will do anything to help his friends and family who helped him since
he was a child, along with the music with the sped up scene it goes well together and shows the
viewers that Arthur has a nightmare every night about his father dying although he cannot remember
exactly what happened. It shows what type of person he is when the montage of him growing up
shows him storing away money in boxes behind a wall, no one knows why he was saving all this

Taking a Look at Logistics Management
The primary aim of logistics is to co ordinate the transportation, storage and handling of products as
they move from the source of raw materials, through the manufacturing system to their final point of
sale in a way that it meets customer requirements at minimum cost. In the past this cost has been
defined in purely monetary terms. Recently the world has witnessed an increasing awareness about
environmental and sustainability issues. This growing concern for the environment has a created
pressure on companies to reduce their negative environmental impact. As defined by ISO14001, the
environmental impact is a modification of the environment, negative or beneficial, resulting wholly or
partially from environmental aspects of an organization . Since the transportation of goods leads to air
and noise pollution, leads to fatal accidents sometimes and has significant impact on global warming,
firms have been trying to render their supply chains and logistics operations more environmental
friendly. That this why many Green logistics strategies have been devised in order to achieve an
efficient and environmentally friendly distribution and transportation system.
In this paper we will discuss what exactly is green logistics, and why green logistics strategies have
gained attention recently. We will then introduce some of these green strategies and their benefits. We
will finally discuss some of the challenges facing green logistics

This term was represented specifically in many parts of the documentary. The migrant workers are able to live better off when they live in groups. The group s sizes do vary but it tends to be a bit larger than the normal size of an average American family. The migrant workers live this way because of the wages that they earn. The more members of the group they have the more money they will bring in from working in the fields. The social location relates to the migrant workers in very direct ways. This happens because of how they are classified in society. The migrants feel as if the fruit and vegetable fields are their ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Ethnocentrism/pg. 36: the use of one s own culture as a yardstick for judging the ways of other individuals or societies, generally leading to a negative evaluation of their values, norms, and behaviors. Ethnocentrism occurs in the documentary multiple times. One specific time is when Perla Sanchez, who is 14 years old fantasizes about her life like most of her other class mates who don t have to work the fields. She compares her life to theirs and envies them. Perla is faced with the horrible truth that her life is far from being like theirs and that her reality is that of travel, hard work, poverty and a lifestyle she does not wish to continue living. As soon as Perla begins to get close with friends or begins to learn things at a school she is forced to migrate with the rest of her family to where the work is in the fields. It is hard for her to do this time and time again. When Perla is at school she is able to feel somewhat normal and wanted much more by her classmates. It is a way for her to potentially escape her dreadful reality. For a period of time in the day she is able to escape her home life and feel normal. When she returns home, or to the fields to work she is quickly reminded of what she feels she is missing out on in life and that she wishes something better for herself and her family. It is easy for Perla to compare her life to the lives of her classmates at school and feel as if her life is inferior to theirs. This is the basis around ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

A definition that is used for a culture of safety speaks to a summary of organizational values views, capabilities, and thoughts that define how organizations respond to health and safety issues in organization (Sammer, Lykens, Singh, Mains, Lackan, 2010). My experience in patient safety working at the Mandeville Regional Hospital in Jamaica as a medical doctor has been an important one. • 5. The Court Of A Bench Trial Essay Our judicial system works hard every day to uphold the rule of law. Whether you are sitting in on a case, watching Court TV, watching legal based movies, or whatever it may be, you notice that there are different parties and people involved in the whole charade. There are different jobs within our court system that coincide with each other to keep our courts strong and orderly. These jobs include: judge, bailiff, stenographer, jury, clerk, and prosecuting attorney. These different jobs have specific duties that help the court system thrive. Judges decide on the verdict if there is a bench trial. A bench trial is a trial by a judge as opposed to a trial by jury (Reuter, 2016). In a bench trial, the judge is an unbiased third party advocate for justice. He or she determines the appropriate punishment and sentence those convicted of crimes (Reuter, 2016). A judge takes on a couple of roles in a bench trial such as, that of the referee who rules on the admissibility of evidence and decides questions of law, and that of the finder of fact which ultimately determines how much weight to give the testimony of different witnesses and the credibility of the evidence (American Bar Association, n.d.). Some cases must be handled by a judge in a bench trial. A federal judge who presides may be an Article III, Judge or a Magistrate Judge (Gray,Ritter, Graham, P.C., 2015). • 8. Comparing Beowulf And Gilgamesh In A Heroic Epic English epic essay. I believe Beowulf fits the majority of the characteristics compared to Dante and Gilgamesh in a heroic epic. Dante shows quite a few characteristics but he went through his journey for himself because he needed to reflect on his past shames to look forward to a better future. Gilgamesh also went on his journey for himself to find immortality because he feared death and what his status/evil doings will bring him in the afterlife. Beowulf went on his journey to save others and build his name which is more than what the others did. Going over each of the characteristics a hero in an epic needs beowulf has the most. Most epics have a noble or wealthy main character which fits gilgamesh and beowulf but not dante. Dante was a political man which may give him respect but does not make him noble or wealthy. Gilgamesh was a king giving him wealth and noble standing and beowulf was the nephew of a king made to be a warrior also giving him noble standing. Breast cancer has been around for centuries, but the advancement of medicine has increased the chances of survival, and in the future the improvements will be even greater. The first mention of breast cancer was documented in Egypt in 1600 B.C. It was considered a mysterious disease with no cure to it. In The Edwin Smith Papyrus, there are eight cases of tumors or ulcers in the breast. During these times, the people believed it was caused by a lack of sexual activity and physical injuries. With the advancement of medicine, diagnosing breast cancer is much easier now than it was before. Mammograms are a very common way of diagnosing breast cancer. A mammogram takes x rays of the breasts and checks for any abnormalities in the breast. A breast ultrasound is also another way of diagnosing breast cancer. Ultrasounds use sound waves to produce images of structures deep within the body .(Mayo Foundation for Medical Education .) The only way to be sure that a patient s lump is cancerous or not, is by performing a biopsy. During the procedure doctors take cells from the affected area and test them to see if they are cancerous. The biopsy also determines the aggressiveness of the cancer, and what type of treatment would be the best for the patient s type of cancer. Not all patients can receive the same form of treatment. There are many ways to treat breast cancer, one being chemotherapy. Chemotherapy uses drugs that kills cancer cells. One of the three major purposes of chemotherapy is to prevent the cancer from coming back after surgery and radiation. That is called adjuvant therapy. Another one of the reasons that patients choose the treatment of chemotherapy, is to shrink the tumor. If the tumor is smaller than it will be easier to remove during surgery. How Does Hitchcock Create Emotional Tension In The Birds The Birds is considered one of Hitchcock s most memorable films, and is known as a classic horror film because of the concept of birds randomly attacking people. The film centers on a man and a woman merging in with his family and only then do the birds start attacking and disrupting their already tense atmosphere as the feelings between the protagonists Melanie and Mitch begin to blossom. Hitchcock creates the birds as a metaphor for the emotional turmoil between the couple and the characters, as it allows them all to develop throughout the film. • 13. The Impact Of Movie Release On Tourism Demand Over Countries THE IMPACT OF MOVIE RELEASE ON TOURISM DEMAND OVER COUNTRIES: EMPIRICAL ANALYSIS OF THAILAND TOURISM INDUSTRY Saisang Apichatvorapong (Management) Directed by Yeujun Yoon ABSTRACT The main purpose of this thesis is to find out more information about the impacts of movie release that has on the tourism demand in Thailand. Since it has been proved that movies can influence tourists to visit a location shown in the movies (Riley Van Doren, 1992), this paper will estimate the number of tourist arrivals from movies that has the filming locations in Thailand and released overseas based on the main economic factors such as gross domestic product (GDP), distance, and relative price, which are often used in the tourism demand equation. Seeing that the Thai tourism industry performs an important role in the national economy, accurate estimates of inbound tourism from movie induced tourism can deliver useful information for both the government and private sectors working in these areas. Secondary data were collected for this study, where we based on 42 countries from the year between 1997 to 2014. The study employs an econometric model of tourism demand and estimated using the method of Ordinary Least Squares (OLS). The result shows that 2 out of the 4 hypotheses were supported. As expected, it indicates that movie release and GDP are positively related to tourist arrivals, while distance and relative prices are negatively related to tourist arrivals. Physics Lab Report SIXTO LEONEL GUANO ROBAYO [ Group S 13] 05/12/2015 MEASURE THE POTENTIAL DIFFERENCE (V) AND CURRENT (A) VALUES BY USING A VARIETY OF RESISTORS, REMAINING CONSTANT EMF TO FIND OUT ITS INTERNAL RESISTANCE. Academic year: 2015 16 Title Measure the potential difference (V) and current (A) values by using a variety of resistors, remaining constant EMF to find out its internal resistance. Introduction Batteries and cells have an internal resistance (r) which is measures in ohm s (W). When electricity flows round a circuit the internal resistance of the cell itself resists the flow of current and so thermal (heat) energy is wasted in the cell itself. (physicsnet.co.uk,2010).  = electromotive force in volts, V I = current in amperes, A R = resistance of the load in the circuit in ohms, Ω r = internal resistance of the cell in ohms, Ω  I Based in the previous statement we can establish that in the real world the EMF of a battery or any other power supply, considered as the maximum potential difference, actually is not the same potential difference we measure across the external circuit, this is due to the presence of an internal resistance in our power supply. Plato in his famous Allegory of Cave compared the ordinary human existence to that of chained prisoners in a cave. Thomas Jefferson drafts this Declaration of Independence using as a reference the Scottish declaration. Declaring Independence would mean war between the British empire and America . With only 35,000 poorly trained troops and 45,000 militias, no navy, small industry with few financial resources the U.S was able to defeat the British Empire which had 56,000 skilled redcoats, 30,000 hessians, 50,000 loyalists, a royal navy and lots of financial resources. So the question remains how exactly was the U.S able to win its independence against such a huge empire? The American revolutionaries shared a set of political and social values which in essence gave meaning to their actions. In September 1776 British army commander Sir William Howe along with his brother Richard Howe used 32,000 Hessians to attack the American Commander General Gorge Washington (pg.243). The brothers defeated Washington s army in several battles from Brooklyn Heights to New York where Washington s army was saved by a storm. By then the battle for independence seemed doomed the British General occupied New York Washington had few men. This is a question that most people spiritual or not ask themselves at least once within their lifetime. In reality, this question is likely to never be answered, but is nevertheless an exciting area for study. Every culture, every religion and every individual person has some type of theory or belief on what happens to us after our bodies meet their final rest, and the ancient Greeks were no exception to this. The ancient Greek view on life after death is the most interesting to study, and belongs to perhaps one of the most influential belief systems to emerge within the ancient world. Rife with mythology and magic, the beliefs of the afterlife that were held by the ancient Greek people included the idea of a heaven vs. hell, reincarnation and the notion of katabasis , and were so powerful they paved the way for future religions ideologies. The ancient Greeks were a highly superstitious and spiritual people. As the Greeks had no written book or scripture of their faith, it can be assumed that the ancient peoples lived their lives based on the stories told within their mythology. Mythology was used for various reasons, the three major ones being as a cosmogony, as etiological stories to explain otherwise unexplainable phenomena, and as a means to deter mortals from ... The structure of the endocrine system is therefore the structure and location of all the main endocrine glands. The pituitary gland, thyroid, pancreas, adrenal glands, and the sex glands (testes) are some of the more important ones, but there are several others. The glands secrete hormones directly in to the blood, which act as messengers. The nature of messenger which is released by the gland, once it has recognised the stimulus is chemical. The electrical messenger is transmitted through the nerve cells; this process is a lot faster than the endocrine system, which enables the response to be that much faster as well. Another noticeable difference in the two systems is in the type of receptors, in the endocrine system the type of receptors is cells, while in the nervous system there are various types of receptors including heat, pressure. As in the endocrine system, the effects of the messenger generally takes a long time, in the nervous system the effect is immediate. And the response is also very localised sometimes directed at just one muscle. As I mentioned earlier, in the endocrine system, the function of the endocrine system is to regulate the body functions by the use of hormones. There are two types of hormones. Steroid hormones and Amino acid based hormones. Steroid hormones are produced by the Adrenal Cortex, the Ovaries, and the Testes. Steroid hormones don t have to bind with the plasma membrane receptors of the target cells; they enter freely. Within the cytoplasm, a steroid hormone can bind with a receptor protein; it will then enter the cell nucleus and bind with the DNA, where it will trigger changes in the chromosomes. The Hormone Receptor unit attaches to the DNA, this attachment activates certain genes in that cell, causing particular proteins to be produced. Some ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This operation for equal rights was a battle, fought by two black activist groups. The group that demanded change by threatening violent activity was lead by Malcolm X. He believed that if they weren t given the equality that they demanded, that they should just take it. Nobody can give you freedom. Nobody can give you equality or justice or anything. If you re a man, you take it , he believed that violence and force was the most effective way of getting what they wanted. As history has shown us though the nonviolent protests, lead by Martin Luther King was more effective and made an impact on the outcome of the civil rights movement. He was inspired by some of the greatest nonviolent advocates of history, for instance Mahatma Gandhi. We have been exploring Unconditional Positive Regard, a term used by Rogers to describe a basic acceptance and support of a person regardless what they say or do. Unconditional Positive Regard is an attitude of the counsellor towards his client. Rogers believes that this attitude is essential to a healthy development and cause a positive therapeutic movement in a therapy. I find this condition; the very definition of humanity. The 1937 publication of the book Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck provides a story about friendship and sacrifice, through the connection between two unlikely travelers, George Milton and Lennie Small. With a parallel story, the 1992 MGM film adaptation of the book directed by Gary Sinise offers a second perspective to the same subject. However, Curley s wife enters and, when Crooks demands that she leave, she belittles him, telling him, you keep your place then, Nigger. I could get you strung up on a tree so easy it ain t even funny (Steinbeck 81). Her diatribe at Crooks clearly shows the distinction made between herself, as a white woman, and Crooks, as a colored man. In an attempt to raise herself, she shows that he is inferior and powerless, due to the color of his skin. Also, with the use of the word Nigger, Steinbeck communicates how the society within the book perceives African Americans as subordinate. With the inferiority brought unto Crooks, he emphasizes upon racism, in such a way that the modern audience is reminded of the past acceptance of the concept. By focusing on racism, Steinbeck also focuses on the social hierarchy present on the ranch, in which African Americans are considered to be the lowest, in spite of one s gender and capabilities. The Definition of Cyber Attack The Definition of Cyber Attack The most important thing that needs to be done before taking the debate on the status of cyber attacks under international laws of war any forward is to specifically define a cyber attack . Scholars generally use the terms such as information warfare , cyber warfare , cyber threats , computer network attacks , etc as alternatives for cyber attacks without a reference to any particular definition or limitation of scope. Perhaps this is done on a supposition that a standard definition of this term is already prevalent. This unfortunately is not true. Speaking specifically about the literature on cyber attacks, the term is comprehended primarily in two ways: while some talk about technology and computer networks as instruments of the attack, others use computers and information technology networks as the objects of the attack. The difference in the perceptions of cyber attack is rather complicating because it makes the nature of the operative term cyber all the more ambiguous, causing serious vagueness in any use of force or armed attack analysis. This becomes particularly problematic when applying any leading models on the assessment of use of force because these models employ instrumentality, target and effects as the basis for analysis. Moreover, there must be an understanding of what exactly is a cyber attack before discussing whether it falls under the use of force notion or not because it will not only affect the value and ...
