San Francisco, California And Powell Streets
Nob Hill is located at the intersection of California and Powell streets, and has the reputation for
being an elite neighborhood in the city of San Francisco, California. This hilltop landmark
continues to attract visitors and today real estate buyers interested in San Francisco apartments for
sale are looking at these posh streets lined with history. Its charism from the past eras has enhanced
the luminary personality of this neighborhood.
Today, San Francisco apartments for sale in this influential neighborhood have an average listing
price of $759,000 compared to other areas of San Francisco of similar listing prices for
$750,000. The variances for square foot costs are computed as a result of the apartment s size and
its location in the neighborhood. Top of the hill tends to be higher with declining costs toward the
mid section and escalating again as you reach the lower level location on the city streets.
Here s an example, based on the current listings the average square foot apartment cost on Nob
Hill today. The differences are a direct result of the number of listings and final closing price for
the area.
450 square foot $1083
598 square foot $897
791 square foot $676
The differences in pricing for San Francisco apartments for sale, compared to homes in the area are
the amenities built into the real estate determining its market value and the benefits of the location.
Older renovated apartments have retained their appeal with the inside being

Integrating An Effective Safe And Secure Learning Environment
Integrating an effective safe and secure learning environment is very imperative when ensuring
student safety and success. Student safety is a number one key aspect towards a successful student
learning environment. Statistics show that if students are presented in a safe and effective place,
whereas the best practiceprinciples in leadershipis development accurately, they will grow as
students, and their learning abilities will grow as well.
Paul J Davis, and educational researcher and author of Best Practice Principles in Leadership
Development Interventions: An Australian Perspective , is a graduate educational professor at
KIMEP University. In 2014, he conducted and educational research in which he discovers the
magnitude and nature of the organizational compliance that suites best practice in leadership
development initiatives. With these practices, leaders, such as myself, can utilized these practices
when dispensing and safe and secure learning environment for not only our students, but our
teachers as well. In the current case, as the new principal of about 1000, I have come to a problem
that concerns parents and other stakeholders. It has been brought to our attention the crime right
within the school surrounding community has increased. Even though these problems does not
exist in the school itself, it still has a traumatizing effect on students behavior. Reason being is that
all student react from their surroundings. If the community is conducting negative

Predator-Prey Interaction
Abstract Predators are animals that kill for their food; they must do this in order to survive. There
has been controversy about predation in some areas including the re introduction of wolves into
the Yellowstone National park area and other areas. Predator prey relationships are both beneficial
and detrimental to some species. The weakest and unhealthiest become dinner for those predators
and also become a positive thing for the species that only the strongest of the herd will survive and
continue to reproduce. Some types of prey have defense mechanisms which fight off predators.
Survival of the fittest is the best explained phrase for this type of ecological interaction.

Predation and prey interactions keep the circle of life going.
Benefits of Predation When a predator makes a kill, it feeds not only them, but other species as
well. For example, if there is an elk kill, this will feed other predators like bear, mountain lion,
coyotes, eagles and others. Smaller rodents and other scavengers, like ravens will also benefit
from a kill. We are predators ourselves we have to kill to eat, just most of us don t do it
ourselves, if we are meat eaters. What we don t eat can go to the dogs and feed them. Bacteria
and other parasites can also join in on the fun. Other things we don t eat, can go to compost, so
there are many ways in which predation benefits the food chain. It definitely feeds various links
on the food web. Predation is also used to control populations of certain problematic species, such
as snails, which pass certain types of diseases to other species including humans, as explained by
Molles. They have used crayfish in some places such as Kenya and other East African countries to
control a problematic snail population. (Molles, 343) This happens here at times also, with
introducing species that will eradicate problem species or invasive species that are taking over
watersheds and other ecosystems.
Predator Body Systems Predators can be birds of prey or carnivores or anything that must kill for
their food. Predation is the interaction between the predator and the prey itself. All

Pros And Cons Of Job Design In The Workplace
When looking at job design in the workplace, we know it is an enhancement in job satisfaction,
that will improve quality and to reduce employee problems in the workforce. It is also referred to
as a task or a work design that is the fundamental of human resources in the management of
organizations Job design is the main part in organizations tasks to groups and individuals with in
the business world. There are core dimensions in job design that are skill variety, task identity, task
signification, autonomy, and feedback. We use these dimensions to better understand which job
designs that better suit organizations when deciding to work in group/teams or simply working
independently. A successful job design whether in groups or individuals will result in a higher and
increased performance and productivity. Overall, there are three broad factors that affect the job
design that are organizational factors (work nature, workflow, and practices/ergonomics),
environmental factors (employee availability/abilities and the socio economics and cultural
expectations), and finally behavioral factors (factors of human need: autonomy, feedback, diversity,
and the use of skills/abilities). As reading through different material there are many pros and cons
in whether deciding if all jobs should be designed around groups rather than individualbased
organizations. Should all jobs be designed primarily around a group setting in the workforce? To
answer this question, we must first

Some People Like Poetry
Europe Paper Elton Pope states, When you re a kid, they tell you it s all... Grow up, get a job, get
married, get a house, have a kid, and that s it. But the truth is, the world is so much stranger than
that. It s so much darker. And so much madder. And so much better . Throughout one s personal
timeline, events in which occur in what seems like random happenstance are actually what help to
shape one into the personthey are destined to be. Times like these are often known as stepping

Finding yourself and one s individuality is apart of each person s journey throughout life. In the
poem Some People Like Poetry , the narrator gives an obvious statement of being who you are.
[B]ut then, you can like chicken noodle soup, or compliments, or the color blue, your old scarf,
your own way, petting the dog (489). Despite the like and dislikes, sense of who you are is a
large portion of every person s life. Being smacked abruptly by reality is unfortunate, yet a very
relatable experience taken on by all people. The narrator from Ars Poetica! shows the struggle
with finding that the world is not exactly what was expected of it. And yet the world is different
from what it seems to be and we are other than how we see ourselves (493). With overcoming and
accepting disappointments in life, we as people develop into more rational beings. Author
Szymborska, expresses the realization of human alikeness through her quote, [M]ortal a hundred out
of a hundred. Thus far this figure still remains unchanged (491). Much growth to better ourselves is
allowed after having experiencing finding your individuality, and acceptance of others and the
world. Though a positive outcome may come from dealing with these milestones, facing death has
much more of a skeptical impact on a

Supporting Empirical Law With Graphical Analysis
Supporting Empirical Law with Graphical Analysis
INTRODUCTION
Much of the new and impressive science throughout history naturally originates from theory; many
great and important mathematical and scientific discoveries come about by excellent thinking. This
does not mean that these findings do not have evidence; even Galileo conducted experiments to
support his claims.
However many brilliant theorists work in a field, physical science derives certain laws only through
experimentation and discovery. An empirical law shows itself to be true not by theory, but by
repeated observations and trials. This experiment discovered the empirical law that predicts the
period of a simple pendulum through graphical analysis. The length of time taken for a simple
pendulum to finish a period cannot be hypothesized on the laws of physics alone. The empirical law
of a simple pendulum, which was revealed after experimentation had concluded, written:
T=2.00в€
љl+0
means that the time, T, of the period of the simple pendulum equals twice the square root of the
length. It was hypothesized that the data collected would support the empirical, within reasonable
percent error. By determining the graphical relationships between different variables and their
effect on the period of the pendulum, the raw data revealed an equation.

Comparing The Afterlife In Judaism, Christianity, And Islam
The existence and the nature of the afterlife is not the only thing that remains constant across all
these religions. Reaching salvation in Islam, Christianity, and Judaism is achieved the same way
between all of these religions. Salvation provides us with the understanding of the relationship
between Godand the Faithful. In Judaism, Christianity, and Islam, there are particular priorities
that must be recognized in order to fully understand this relationship and its correlation with the
truth and good behavior (Khalil, Mohammad Hassan. 1 6 (ix ixxx)) Ultimately in all of these
religions, people who have lived good and righteous lives and believes in god and the prophets will
go to Heaven and achieve salvation, and the people who live sinful... Show more content on

In the Quran it says surely, those who disbelieve and did wrong, God will not forgive them, nor
will He guide them to any way except the way of Jahannam, to dwell therein forever. (Quran, 4:168

Christian tradition believe that one must believe in God, have faith in Jesus Christ and live good
holy lives to be granted the entrance to Heaven. In the bible it states that by grace through faith in
Jesus Christ . (Ephesians 2:8 9) Much like the followers of the Islamic tradition, Christians also
believe that those who are unrighteous and reject God and Jesus Christ will be placed in Hell after
death. In the Bible it states that Hell is a place of everlasting punishment for the unrighteous. There
is no crossover between Heaven and Hell. (Matthew 25:46). In the Jewish tradition, those who
submit their lives to god, follow his teachings, and not commit sins are the ones who will be granted

Students Disrespectful In Schools
Why are students disrespectful in schools? There is no specific factor for disrespectful students in
schools. Students are mocking teachers. You re a terrible teacher! No one cares about school.
Teachers are humiliating students in front of their peers. Consistently criticizing students for their
lack of enthusiasm, laziness, insubordination, and ungratefulness. Students fight amongst
themselves, compete against one another in an effort to achieve high marks even if it means
cheating on assignments and assessments. Unfortunately, this epidemic of disrespect needs to be
acknowledged. Why? Because the rapid changes we have witnessed in our schools in the 21st
Century has become a troubling phenomenon. As teachers, we are to provide a safe and positive
learning environment conducive to learning. We have a simple job and that is to teach students
material and to make sure they understand it. Unfortunately, we have those students who make our
lives difficult. They have complete disrespect for their teachers as well as their peers because they
are disrupting the classroom affecting the learning abilities of those students who want to be there.
Most students lean toward this type of behavior when teachers are trying to discipline them. We
enforce discipline because it is our job to make sure the learning environment stays focused. Other
students don t want to hear their classmates disrupting the lesson by talking back to teachers or
arguing with their peers.

The Ethics Of Business Management Essay
Prior to my interview with Dr. Lisa Calvano, I did not have the impression that research was
involved in any part of business management. After meeting with her, I learned exactly how
important research is to the business management discipline. Research in business management is a
systematic investigation that helps to answer complications and problems within businesses.
Researchin the field contributes to solid managementunderstanding and knowledge. Information
from research is usually produced by classical methods: statistical data and analysis, interview data,
and survey data (i.e., stock prices). Researchers, especially in businessmanagement must be
careful to declare their research findings as credible. Research in business management abides by
ethical thinking. Researchers evaluate their data properly and need to recognize that specified
data may be confidential. Most data that management researchers find is private and it is intended
to be kept that way. When researchers question the ethics behind their research, they look to an
Institutional Review Board (IRB) and occasionally The Code of Ethics . The IRB is a council that
was instituted to review and authorize any and all research engaging humans. The purpose of the
committee is to protect human subject research and to ensure it is regulated according to federal,
institutional and ethical guidelines. The Code of Ethics , also known as the Code of Conduct , is a
basis that outlines how professionals are

Many help set up the authenticity with costumes and such.
In The Governess Goldbacher sets the historical reality with subtle elegance. In the scene where
Rosina enters the dining area to inform her employers of her departure, all are dressed in attire
associated with the English Victorian era. The son in an oversized baggy shirt, the father with a

Towards the movie s beginning we see Elizabeth being interogated on treason charges. From a God
s Eye view she is seated alone in the middle surrounded by three men moving around her. The
shot mirrors that of the opening burning at the stake. When the camera recedes to her eye level,
occasionally cross shaped windows are visible on the back wall of the castle. This piece illustrates
how she must continually stand alone against those are out to oust her as their rightfull ruler, the
caslte s vast open space also helps to confirm her lack of support amoung the nobles. The windows
portray the on going religious battle.
In Raging Bull Scorsace portrays Jake LaMotta s life as a constant battle. At the turning point
with the montage sequence of flashbacks we see many short clips of his numerous bouts mixed
with colorized home video of his late courtship to early marriage with Vicky. This shows that he
has no distinction between the boxing ring and life in general. The home video having color only
means that this was the point in his life where he was most happiest, and he will always remember
it vividly.
In Rocco and His Brothers Visconti conveys Rocco s strength through his self and moral

Pandora Compare And Contrast Essay
Another important requirement for the process of natural selection among species is having a
variety of traits. The variation of traits to be selected upon by the environment allows for the
changing of allele frequencies among the generations of the population. One of the main sources for
genetic variation is sexual reproduction, which occurred between members of the Na vi and
members of the Thanator species. Sexual reproduction among members of a species can lead to
genetic mutations in the DNA, which can attribute to the variability of genes. One obvious variable
trait among the hominid species of Pandora is their height. The males were typically seen to be
taller in height than the females, but with each member having a different height the trait can vary
among offspring. If the environment demands for taller offspring then it will naturally select for
that trait among individuals,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

homologous structure is essentially an anatomical similarity between organisms of different
species that are representative of variations on a structural basis and are derived from a common

for example mammals tend to have pelvic bones and fish do not. Homology Between the
Hominids and Various Species on Pandora Much homology exists between the hominid species of
Pandora and the other species, such as the fact that the hominids have four fingers and toes on each
hand and foot, and the thanator species has four finger like claws on each foot. This even number
of phalanges between both species must be beneficial to both of them in some way, enough so that

The Natural Evolution Of Readability And How It s...
Visual communication is the interaction of meanings and thoughts through visual stimuli. Usually
in 2D visual communication covers a wide range of genres including art, ideograms, typography,
photography, illustration, graphic design and many others.
In this essay I will try to evidence the natural evolution of readability and legibility in visual
communication and how it s progression reached its pinnacle before the beginning of post
modernism. I will look as far back as the first known instances of visual communication, the cave
paintings, and target key elements to the evolution and progression of visual communication
including ideograms, the alphabet, scribes, the printing press, slave ship diagrams, the Renaissance,
Leonardo Da Vinci and the Avantgarde, before concentrating on the change from Modernism to
post modernism. In my essay readability refers to the ease in which we can read the piece and
legibility discuses the message it is trying to convey.
It is my View that Visual communication, for the most part; naturally progressed over time due to
the influence of previous developments. I believe that this reached its pinnacle during modernism
and experienced a drastic change during post modernism.
The main theory that i will be trying to evidence is the natural progression and evolution of
readability and legibility in visual communication until the beginning of post modernism
The earliest known form of visual communication is Indonesian cave paintings dated at

Gordon Brown s Silent No More, Questions And Answers
Silent No More Research Paper
Scotland held its independence referendum on September 18th, 2014. The Scottish Nationalist
Party wanted to hold this vote in order to give the people of Scotland a say in whether or not their
country would stay in the UK. In his speech, Silent No More , Gordon Brown urges his audience to
have the confidence in saying no to Scotland s independence.
Since the Act of Union in 1707, Scotland has been a part of the UK. Until 1997, all important
decisions regarding Scotland and the rest of the UK were made by the Westminster Parliament in
London. However, Scotland has always maintained its own education system, law and justice

He begins with saying that the vote is not about whether or not Scotland is nation; we are,
yesterday, today, and tomorrow. ( Silent No More ). Brown says this in order to exaggerate the
fact that Scotland has always been its own standing nation and the vote will not change anything.
This pushes patriotic audience members to vote no since Brown has confirmed that Scotland is
already an independent nation. Gordon Brown repeats the phrase It s not about to clarify to the
people who are not sure which side to vote on that either way the vote will not change any aspects
of Scotland that he mentions. He then changes the pattern to say that the vote is about whether
[they] want to break and sever every link between Scotland and the UK. This powerful line both
defines what he believes independence will do to the union as well as delivering that statement
using negative language. To conclude this section of the speech, Brown suggests that his audience
tell the undecided, the waverers, [and] those not sure how to vote what Scotland and the UK have
achieved together. Brown s intention is to unite and widen his audience of people who believe
voting for independence is the wrong

The Urgent Need for Internet Censorship Essay
The Urgent Need for Internet Censorship
With the increasing popularity of the Internet, especially among children, parents and others have
been concerned that young people have easy access to a wide range of pornography available
online. They have pointed out that it is a relatively easy maneuver for children to call up salacious
material at home or in libraries simply by searching for key words like porn or sex. The purpose
of this paper is to amplify on this subject of the need for regulation of the Internet.
In February of 1996 Congress passed and the president signed the Communications Decency Act,
which made it a crime to transmit indecent material to minors on line(Communications). But the

This is a sample of the new filtering technology parents can use to block access to sites children
may visit. The internet industry is establishing a public service campaign to inform parents about
the danger of pornography online; and creating a national hotline to report incidents of cyber porn.
Ultimately, the only real solution is parental empowerment and parental education, so, therefore, a
legislative solution may not create the kind of comfort that people seek and actually could,
inadvertently, do some damage to dealing with the problem in a substantive kind of way. But some
critics don t believe that voluntary industry efforts will be effective. Republican Senator Dan Coats
of Indiana introduced a bill requiring all commercial web sites carrying material harmful to minors
to block access or face criminal penalties. This bill rovided very stiff fines. The Communications
Decency Act would have sent a very strong signal to the internet providers that if you get caught,
if you do this and you get caught, it s not going to be, oh, well, we re sorry, we won t do it again;
there s going to be a very stiff penalty, including a jail sentence. But it did not pass into law. Any
new law restricting Internet access like the Communications Decency Act before it is certain to be
challenged in court.
Industry believes the solution to this problem of easy access to salacious materials is to give
parents the tools to block children from

The Social Issue Of African American Population And How...
Choice of Social Issue
The social issue that I will be addressing is the African American population and how they endured
being enslaved also detailing the discrimination and segregation parameters that also came along
with this atrocity of enslavement. Although this social issue wasn t one that was addressed in the
course, I believe it is an essential matter that has helped shaped America and the individuals who
reside here both past and present. This act has shaped the economy, the policies, and the
government in regards to how they choose to address situations and fix them as well. The
individuals of the community, activist and advocates began to express their thoughts and feelings
on the matter, in which others strongly agreed eventually a social movement derived from these
efforts and it was named the Abolitionist movement. The Abolitionist movement began in the 1830s
and lasted until 1870, in which the focus of this movement was to immediately emancipate slaves,
also placing emphasis on the ending of racial segregation and discrimination that was prevalent
among society. This social movement targeted society as a whole and the type of change it wanted
to initiate was radical, in which it would be classified as a revolutionary movement. Abolitionism
was not an issue that could be surpassed decade after decade due to how many individuals it

The Role Of Overgrazing In The Great Plains
Natalie,
I enjoyed reading your post and about the overgrazing in the Great Plains. Over grazing was
growing so rapidly in the 1800 s and later in that century caused the public rangelands to become
severely depleted and overcrowded (U.S Department of the Interior, 2015). The Bureau of Land
Management (BLM) reports that after the implementation of the Taylor Grazing Act (TGA) of
1934 there was a significant decrease in grazing livestock on public lands by ranchers, decrease
in livestock population, and increased operation sustainability and stability (U.S Department of
the Interior, 2015). As a result, between ranchers cattle, sheep and horses, sustainable grass is
scarce and can hardly support a variety of herds. (Rayburn, 2000). In contrast, journalist Robin
Walters and Sebastian Tsocanos report that there are not many overgrazed pastures at all
(Rediscover The Prairie, 2014). In addition, they find that it is not a bad thing for a few herds to
be around. Moreover, they express a lack or worry for overgrazing creating another situation
similar to the one during the 1800 s that was widely considered a Dust Bowl (Rediscover The
Prairie, 2014). In addition to the current limitations on land for the vast majority of ranchers, there
is now a careful thought taken into account for future generations which prevents some ranchers to

Essay On The Future Of The Energy Industry
What is the future of the energy industry in Canada? A big uncertainty that arises for the energy
industry in Canada surrounds the new U.S. administration. According to National Resources
Canada, Canada currently exports 99% of its oil and gas to the U.S. (2017a). If Trump were to
revise the current NAFTA agreement, and impose a tax on imports to the U.S. from Canada, it
could result in Canada losing a major partner, and cause the economy to take a hit. As mentioned,
President Trump is in support of the Keystone XL pipeline, however, that then also comes under
scrutiny for how much of the profit would Trump expect. As of November 2017, the Keystone XL
pipeline is approved, but on an alternative route, and it still faces challenges. If... Show more

However, emissions per barrel of oil produced in the oil sands have fallen over 35% since 1990,
(Government of Canada, 2017a). It is good that Canada is taking steps to reduce their carbon
footprint, but the future of Canada as a member of the Paris Agreement is uncertain if Canada does
not take more tangible steps to reduce the production and emission of greenhouse gases. What is
Suncor s Future? Based on the challenges identified, and the way that Suncor approaches these
challenges, the future looks bright for Suncor. As the case study points out, water use is an
environmental issue that requires careful management (Vietor, 2016, p.7). The major oil producing
companies were taking measures to reduce the amount of fresh water they were withdrawing from
the Athabasca River, and the Canadian government had restricted withdrawals to 5.2% of the river

water usage. The government regulated that they could use 59.8 million cubic meters annually,
however, their 2014 usage was only 18.65 million cubic meters, (Vietor, 2016 p.12). This
demonstrates that Suncor is on track to meet national demands and constraints placed on the energy

companies in the industry, and this action encourages them to reduce their own water consumption
in the future. As Suncor has already achieved

The Theme Of Marigolds InMarigolds, By Virginia Hurst
Guilt is like a sickness. If you don t get medicine, no matter how much you wait it out, the
sickness is staying with you. No matter how much time passes, if you don t deal with your guilt,
it will stick with you and never go away. The main character in Marigolds by Eugenia Collier ruins
an elderly woman s beautiful marigolds because of her own issues. The main characterin The
Scarlet Ibis by James Hurst leaves his handicapped brother alone in the woods and comes back to
find that he s dead. Lastly, the main character in The Cat s In The Cradle never takes part in his sons
childhood and comes to realize his boy is just like him when he gets older. These three pieces all
show a coexisting theme of how guiltsticks around forever if you don t deal with it.
Marigolds by Eugenia W. Collier perfectly demonstrates how guilt sticks around no matter how
much time has passed if you don t deal with it. In the story, the main character Lizabeth gets very
angry and destroys an elderly woman named Miss. Lottie s marigolds she had planted in her yard.
Before this, Lizabeth overheard her parents fighting and crying about their dire situation,
something she had never seen her strong, determined parents do before. Lizabeth took her anger
out on Miss. Lottie and her marigolds, she basically ripped the whole garden to shreds. The guilt
from doing this has stuck with her over the years. For example, as the author clearly states, Yet,
there are times when the image of those passionate

The University s Lick Observatory, Planet Hunter Team
As a member that is part of the UC s Lick Observatory Planet Hunter Team, I have found a
possible planetary system that may contain a planet. From my further research, I discovered that
the planet may support life, such as bacteria and plants. After confirming with the Search for
Extraterrestrial Intelligence Institute about intelligent life, I eventually decided to want to
discuss intelligent life through a scientific process. I will use the Drake Equation to give us the
possibility that intelligent life can emit signals to reveal any existence. The equation is given as
N= R* x fp x ne x fl x fi x fc x L. The calculations of each variables will help me understand what is
being contributed into calculating the chance of any signals being detected and the calculated
result will determined the conclusion of intelligent life existing. Nevertheless, this is just an
estimation for the possibility of any life as the Drake Equation may or may not be as reliable as we
may expect it to be. Calculations Step 1. I know that there are 7 new stars formed yearly in the
galaxy, the number of stars is represented by R*. This is the annual rate of star formation that is
adaptable for any life. So R* will equal 7 new stars formed every year. R* = 7 new stars formed
every year Step 2. There is a 100% chance that if there are stars, then there has to exist planetary
systems. So, R* = 7 new stars annually and fp = 1/1 relationship between stars and planetary
systems or 1. Next, I take 7

Sexual Harrasment in the Workplace Essay
Sexual Harrasment in the Workplace Sexual Harassment in the workplace is something so
common, but ironically pushed aside which results in serious legal matter. What is sexual
harassment? Sexual harassment is a form of discrimination that violates Title VII of the Civil
Rights Act of 1964. It also takes the form of unsolicited sexual advances, requests for sexual favors
and other verbal or physical conduct of a sexual nature. Sexual harassment that interferes with an
individual s work performance or creates an intimidating, hostile or offensive work environment
results in poor performance and lack of motivation.

With diversity in the work force growing so rapidly the differences in the lifestyles and personal
ethics the organization cannot afford to rely on an unwritten policy. The organization must realize
that complaints will be made and it should not be handled lightly. Organizations should periodically
update their policies reflecting the current times and situations. It should be mandatory to
implement sexual harassment polices and brief the employees of such policies.
On the other hand sexual harassment can be blown out of proportion. Some complaints that are
made are not always reasonable. An extensive investigation should be done to make sure that it is
legit and the complaint is not unfair. Perception from the receiver may be distorted from the actual
meaning. Some ways to determine the complaint is really constituted as a complaint are:
1. See if the behavior or act is constructed to be unwelcome, offensive or intimidating.
2. Make sure that there is a trend of the same or numerous complaints being reported.
3. Confirm that there was any implied or expressed sexual favors concerning the job retention,
promotion or any other issues benefiting the organization.
The best way to avoid sexual harassment in the work environment is prevention. Employers are
encouraged to take necessary steps to prevent sexual harassment from

Music and Words
Madam Butterfly, Un Bel Di By Giacomo Puccini
Giacomo Puccini was born in Lucca, Italy on December 22nd, 1858. He was one of nine
children of Michele Puccini and Albina Magi. The Puccini family was established in Lucca as a
local musical dynasty by Puccini s great great grandfather. Each of the men in the family studied
music at Bologna, and some went on to take additional musical studies courses elsewhere in Italy.
Most of them composed music for the church, Cattedrale di San Martino. With the Puccini family
having occupied the position of maestro di cappella for 124 years (1740 1864) by the time of
Puccini s father s death, it was anticipated that Puccini ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

May 1904 in Brescia. In 1906, Puccini wrote a third version and in 1907, Puccini made several
changes which became the fourth version, and was performed in Paris on many occasions. In
1907, Puccini made his final revisions to the opera in a fifth version, which has become known as
the Standard Version and is the one which is most often performed around the world (Wagner).
Like Puccini s other operas, this one tells the story of a tragic heroic female protagonist. A young
geisha named Cio Cio San, from Nagasaki, renounces her profession and religion to marry an
American Naval Officer, Pinkerton. The two are married but her husband must depart soon after
the ceremony. When Pinkerton returns to Nagasaki several years later, with a new American wife
by his side, he learns that Butterfly has given birth to a son. Pinkerton decides to take their son
back with him to American, and Butterfly accepts his decision with dignity. But rather than return
to her life as a geisha, Madame Butterfly commits suicide with her father s sword.
Un bel dì vedremo ( One fine day we shall see ), the opera s most famous aria, is from Act II
and takes place many years after the marriage of Butterfly and Pinkerton. It tells the tale of her
daydream, the young brides happy reunion with her loving husband, and she reminisces Pinkerton s

Rap Vs Poetry Essay
quot; When I first started rapping, me and a couple brothers would all sit around my place
freestyling while someone beat boxed. I even used to tell all the girls that I was a poet. They
seemed to find it a little more touching than a rapper quot; (Prince Paul, The Source 16) The lyrics
of rappers are very similar to the words of Black poets. It is argued as to wether or not rap is a
viable form of poetry.
Both discuss similar subjects, write in the same style and use the same type of language in their
writings. When looking at a poem or reading rap lyrics, distinguishing between the two can be

Summary Of Democracy In America By Alexis De Tocqueville
Alexis de Tocqueville s Democracy in America is a 1835 masterpiece about the growth of
democracy and the gradual disappearance of aristocracy. In attempts to help the French understand
the concept about this new form of government, he wrote the document talking about the New
World where the people rule instead of the nobles and kings. Two main differentiations are
discussed: selfishness versus individualism and aristocracy versus democracy.
The first idea that he compares is selfishness and individualism. In the very beginning of chapter
two, Alexis de Tocquevilledescribes how it is that in ages of equality [democracy] every man seeks
for his opinion within himself . In other words, the equality involved in democracy has influenced

The Roman Province Of Dacia
The Roman province of Dacia consisted of most of Romania from approximately 100 to 271
A.D. The Daco Roman was overran again and again by barbarian conquerors. Many migrants
traveled to Romania. In the 5th and 6th century two major events happened. First in the 5th
century, came the Huns and in the 6th century they were followed by the Avars. The Huns were a
nomadic tribe whose origin is unknown but, most likely, they came from somewhere between the
eastern edge of the Altai Mountains and the Caspian Sea, roughly modern Kazakhstan (Kelly, 45).
The Avars were a confederation of heterogeneous (diverse or varied) people consisting of Rouran,
Hephthalites, and Turkic Oghuric races who migrated to the region of the Pontic Grass Steppe (an
area corresponding to modern day Ukraine, Russia, Kazakhstan) from Central Asia after the fall of
the Asiatic Rouran Empire in 552 CE. After the Huns and Avars came the Slavs which were
designates an ethnic group of people who share a long term cultural continuity and who speak a set
of related languages known as the Slavic languages. After the Huns, Slavs and Avars came,
Romania the slowly settled down and a feudal order was born. Around the 8 10th century, Eastern
Orthodox Christianity was brought amongst the Romanians by the mastery of the Bulgarian
Empire. The Hungarian empire had overruled Transylvania in or around the 11th century. By the

Borders of life and lands Gregory
Boca Chica is municipality of the Dominican Republic, located upon the island of Hispaniola in the
Gulf of ChiriquГ. The history of conflict between the Dominican side of the island (influenced by
Spanish colonial rule) and the Western Haitian side is long standing, dating back to the 1880 s.
Upon the modern day landscape there is an imaginary line which divides Hispaniola into a land of
two countries. One side of which is Haiti and the other the Dominican Republic. It is on the
Dominican side where Gregory focuses his ethnography.
Through anecdotal interviews bureaucratic and social borders are described, which not only
exclude and disempower the Haitian residents of the country, but which also also alienate
citizens of Dominican descent due to their financial state. Dominican parents are required to
register the birth of a child at office of Civil Registry so as to be issued with a birth certificate.
When the child reaches the age of eighteen, this certificate can than be exchanged for an adult
cГ©dula , which is required for voting, securing formal employment and obtaining licenses and
other documents. However, many parents, especially those in rural areas, may delay or neglect
registering their children s birth, through oversight, ignorance, or lack of resources to travel or to

What are some strategies you would use to increase referrals to your ASC while maintaining high
patient satisfaction scores?
Another challenge facing ambulatory surgery centers is the recruitment of new physicians.
Following a national trend, many local hospitals and health systems are purchasing physician
practices, which could eventually lead to doctors referring surgical cases to a hospital s same day
surgery department. Assuming there is ample opportunity to increase surgical volume, how do you
intend to recruit physicians to practice via your ASC? What are some strategies/offerings you could

The ASC you are currently managing is experiencing out of network challenges. Additionally, the
proposed reimbursement rates from payers do not match Medicare rates for your market. Most
of your ASC contracts are based on the Medicare fee schedule and because many of your
surgeries are not on that schedule, you have to negotiate a fee schedule on a case by case basis.
What strategies could you employ as you work with payors to contract for reasonable rates that
could save you both money in the short term?
In this changing environment, you are required to do more with less. Reimbursement rates are

Throughout history, Musicians have used songs to tell stories, raise questions, and express

Essay On Cupid
Cupid, being known for love, has greatly influenced today s society even with his questionable
background. In ancient Greece, he originated from Aphrodite. Cupid s other name was Eros. In
Roman times, his name is Cupid and his mother was Venus. His purpose was to to pierce the heart
of his victims and causing them fall deeply in love. The most known stories that he was involved in
was Apollo and Daphneand Cupidand Psyche. Apollo was shot by Cupid and fell in love with
Daphne. Daphne couldn t stand being bombarded by Apollo. The moral of the story is pride in

differences between Cupid s original story and most modern story is when the stories were first

They are all vague and can be mixed around or put into the same show or play. Most comedies
have more than one of these tenets. The first tenet is farce. Farce puts characters in an absurd
situation that then makes the play funny. Most farce stems from Shakespeare, and it is the best
documented comedy form. Irony is a verbal tenet. When a play is ironic, sarcastic comments and

imitation with the intention of wounding or correcting someone. It s the harshest type. Parody is
similar to satire but the intentions are not as severe. Parody is the most famous tenet. Pastiche is
subtler but also similar to parody. The purpose of the imitation is often to flatter. Pastiche is
relatively benign, and lots of humorous musicals incorporate it. Surrealism is when the actor

Section I, Question 1: In Shearing and Stenning s From the Panopticon to Disney World, the world
renowned fantasy amusement park is revealed to be a compelling embodiment of Michel Foucault
s ideas regarding the disciplinary society. In Foucault s writings on the prison panopticon his idea of
a perfected disciplinary institution of a disciplinary society Foucault describes how inmates (or
Disney s guests) behavior and movements is overseen and tightly controlled (Dillon, p. 371). This
level of control is clear from the moment you enter Disney: barriers, guardrails, and directions
guide you to preordained locations, and Disney employees and rides reinforce those restrictions and
guidances at numerous points throughout your visit (Shearing, p. 301 302). More significantly, in
the panopticon design, inmates are always under surveillance. Further, inmates are aware they are
always under surveillance even if they cannot see their supervisor so that they begin monitoring
their own actions to conform with rules and restrictions (Dillon, p. 371). At Disney, once a guest
breaks the rules or regulations, they quickly become aware that they are being surveilled. Park
employees in unassuming costumes seemingly unrelated to security or rule enforcement are trained
to enforce rules and hold guests accountable as soon as they act out of line, making clear to guests
that they are always being surveilled even if they cannot see the supervisors

The Forbidden Romantic Love Between Romeo And Juliet Essay
The forbidden romantic love between Romeo and Juliet.
By Ashleigh Moseley.
Year 10 English: Mrs Shaw.
For this anthology about love I have chosen, and mainly centred around the topic of love that is
forbidden. With this type of love, comes many struggles and questions that I m sure must go
through the minds of people in this situation. This is what happens with Romeo and Juliet in the
Play written by William Shakespeare in 1591. It will be a romance that will strongly challenge
them, but as we see it will not break the bond of love they have for each other. In this task I will try
to describe the pain, happiness, frustration, forgiveness, anger, and joy through a collection of
shorts texts that come with the topic of persecuted, and forbidden love.
Author unknown.
Juliet is willing to love Romeo no matter what. I think that this short poem describes the nature
of their love very well. This is how they think, act and live out their love for each other. I noticed
that the words in this poem: you are my best friend, my human diary my other half , picture how
they feel about each other in a really clear way. Both from families that hate each other, yet they
treat each other as if they are there only hope.... Their best friend, the diary with which they right
they feelings for each other. This I feel clearly describes what it must feel like to love dearly
someone who you are not allowed to

The 2008 Recession Affected The Global Economy
With the after effects of the stock marketing falling in 2008, and less investments involving risk and
the GDP falling. This is when the economy began turning internationally. With imports, exports and
foreign investment falling along with the combination of employment and production being cut
back this recessionaffected the global economy. The unemployment rate in the United States began
to skyrocket as well. Below is a graph depicting the unemployment rate in the United States during
the 2008 recession. This graph data is from Oregon Economic Crisis Analysis.

household savings increased and spending decreased. Going into 2008, many households could
afford to keep debt and manage it because of the good financial indicators. Below is a graph from
Creditworthiness showing the U.S. average household debt vs saving leading into the 2008
financial crisis. Most of the debt seen by households was in the form of mortgages, and loans
against people s mortgages. Again with the government regulations and push for more people to
own houses, builders to expand their developments and banks to offer subprime loans which
lead to competition among banks to lower interest rates, give out adjustable rate mortgages, and
even give no income no asset loans, it was easy to get the credit backing from banks and
financial institutions for individuals. This increased spending and debt can be contributed to why
the economy was looking up for many years, and the economy was booming. However when this
uncertainty began to fall, more people pulled out of their personal investments that they
considered risk and starting hanging on to their money. Below is a chart from the U.S. Bureau of
Economics depicting the household savings before and after 2008. It is important to look at
personal savings to see how the money supply could have also affected the economic crisis of
2008, which turned the economy into a recession. With lower money supply in the economy and
more in savings because of

Jane Eyre Essay examples
Jane Eyre and the Lovemad Woman
I was experiencing an ordeal: a hand of fiery iron grasped my vitals. Terrible moment: full of
struggle blackness, burning! No human being that ever lived could wish to be loved better then I
was loved; and him who thus loved me I absolutely worshipped: and I must renounce love and idol.
(311; ch. 27)
Jane Eyre s inner struggle over leaving an already married Rochester is the epitome of the new
lovemad woman in nineteenth century literature. Jane Eyre is the story of a lovemad woman who
has two parts to her personality (herself and Bertha Mason) to accommodate this madness. Charlotte
Bronte takes the already used character of the lovemad woman and uses her to be an outlet for the
confinement ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Through her tryst with Heger, Charlotte could certainly identify with the emotions of a lovemad
woman. She was rejected by her lover and can be seen as almost mad because of the emotions that
she projects into her writings due to this affair. Charlotte also was well read on the psychology of
the time. She attended medical lectures and would have discussed such with her father Patrick
Bronte (Small 155). Charlotte eventually settled for her father s curate, Mr. Nicholls, as her
husband, though initially she did not love him (Winnifirth 111).
Through the events of Charlotte s life it is easy to see parts of her in the characters of Jane Eyre
and Bertha Mason. Charlotte uses Bertha as a rebellious outlet for not only Jane but for herself as
well. The feminist critics Sandra Gilbert and Susan Gubar clearly summarize this phenomenon
when they state By projecting their rebellious impulses not into their heroines but into mad or
monstrous women, female authors dramatize their own self division. (Gilbert and Gubar 78). In
other words Charlotte has Bertha as a sort of scapegoat that she can express her true rebellious
feelings without demeaning herself or her heroine. Charlotte makes Jane different from Bertha in
the end because Jane uses her will to overcome her madness and ultimately gets the happy ending
that neither Bertha nor Charlotte herself, it seems, were able to obtain.

Personal Narrative Soccer Team
Soccer is one of my first loves in life, so given the opportunity to pass this love on to someone
else I jumped at the chance. During the spring soccer season of 2016 a competitive U12 girls
soccer team needed a coach, and I jumped at the opportunity. The team consisted of fifteen girls
between the ages of ten and twelve. I ve played soccer for eleven years; in the past, I coached two
recreational soccer teams. Coaching a competitive soccer team was something I figured I was up
for the challenge of. Regular season playwent reasonably well, but the highlight of the season was
when the team went to The Yellowstone Cup in Rexburg, Idaho. This is where we had the most
growth as a team and where I learned the most about tactics as a coach.

Everyone was keyed up for the game. You could feel the energy on the field, it was contagious.
After warm ups the referees had us line up and walk onto the field and face the crowd, so our
fans could take pictures of us. Once the referee blew the whistle and the game started the
intensity instantly doubled. Right as the game started, I could see the new formation we
worked on in our game against Bridger valley that morning wasn t going to work. The Pocatello
players were penetrating our defense. Changing formations on the fly with young players is
extremely difficult. While I was struggling to get the team to understand what I wanted them to
do, Pocatello scored. I did a couple substitutions at the restart, so I could put the team back in its
regular formation. We continued to fight for the rest of the half, but we just couldn t get any
shots in the net. Right before the half ended one of my speedy outside defenders collided with
another player and went down. Her knee popped and hurt to walk on, so she could no longer
play. The trainer that was covering the game said nothing in her knee was torn, but it probably
would be best if she didn t continue to play. The referee restarted the game, and we continued until
halftime. At halftime we talked about staying calm and passing the ball instead of just trying to
kick it down the middle of the field. Once the game started in the first few minutes we controlled
the ball and had a

Nicola Sacco Essay
In this world, anything can happen. We can drive, text, and be framed for murder. Yeah, being
framed for murder. That s what happened to Nicola Sacco. We should start at the beginning.
Nicola Sacco was born in the Italian town of Torremaggiore on 22nd April, 1891. He emigrated to
the United States when he was seventeen. Sacco found work in a shoe factory in Stoughton,
Massachusetts. He got married and started a family. Sacco also became involved in left wing
politics and at one anarchist gathering met Bartolomeo Vanzetti, an Italian immigrant working as a
fish peddler in Plymouth. Like many left wing radicals, Sacco and Vanzetti were opposed to the
First World War. They took part in protest meetings and in 1917, when the United States... Show

He also named the four other men, Joe, Fred, Pasquale and Mike Morelli, who had taken part in
the robbery. The Morelli brothers were well known criminals who had carried out similar
robberies in area of Massachusetts. However, the authorities refused to investigate the confession
made by Madeiros. Many leading writers and artists became involved in a campaign to obtain a
retrial. Although, Webster Thayer, the original judge, was officially criticised for his conduct at the
trial, the authorities refused to overrule the decision to execute the men. By the summer of 1927 it
became clear that Sacco and Bartolomeo Vanzetti would be executed. On 23rd August 1927, the
day of execution, over 250,000 people took part in a silent demonstration in Boston. Soon after the
executions, Eugene Lyons published his book, The Life and Death of Sacco and Vanzetti. Fifty
years later, on 23rd August, 1977, Michael Dukakis, the Governor of Massachusetts, issued a
proclamation, effectively absolving the two men of the crime.
From beginning to end, Nicola Sacco had been blamed for murder. This is the world we live in. A
world where someone can t be free until after death. A world where we discriminate other for being

Chivalry And The Codes Of Chivalry
The broad shouldered and muscular knight stood before his king, ready to take fealty. His sword
glistened from being wiped clean of battle. The knight was well known and honored throughout
the kingdom. These males made different vows to protect their country. There were ceremonies
for these affirmations. They had special clothing for battle and everyday living. One part of this
was because of the codes of chivalry. Chivalry has been around for centuries. Knights like those of
the middle ageshad many responsibilities and made vows to ensure their commitment to the codes
of chivalry.
Chivalry has a long background and a deep meaning. Coming from the French term horse soldiery
chivalry can be dated back as far as the 11th century ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These knights and their kin were also restricted from wearing cloaks (Mortimer). If the knights
obtained more than 400 marks of land then they had more privileges. The family could dress at
their will. Though they could not wear weasel or ermine fur (Mortimer). It s safe to say there are
many codes of chivalry and ways of living for these medieval knights. There were still numerous
other little and odd rules of these people. Even more rules applied when they took upon avowals.
Knights made several kinds of vows to their kingdom, country, and people of the city. However,
they would make these vows on behalf of their kings or lords. The men who took oaths were then
called fidelis, meaning faithful man in Latin (Biel). These pledges became common by the year
700. When a knight took a feudal oath of lifelong loyalty to their king, it was called an oath of
homage (Biel). Consequent to these oaths, the knight owed his life to his leader until death. That
doesn t mean he was treated poorly. They were given gifts that many people would only dream of
receiving. Knights that took vows were offered gifts like armour, horses, fine clothing, a home at
the castle, and produce from the land. Prized knights were even offered land. These gifts were
called benefices. It soon became mandatory for knights to take their vows. Over a period of time,
these oaths began to change.
During feudalism unexampled oaths took place. The feudalism time period took place between the
years 900 1500.

Student safety is a number one key aspect towards a successful student learning environment. • 4. Predator-Prey Interaction Abstract Predators are animals that kill for their food; they must do this in order to survive. There has been controversy about predation in some areas including the re introduction of wolves into the Yellowstone National park area and other areas. Predator prey relationships are both beneficial and detrimental to some species. The weakest and unhealthiest become dinner for those predators and also become a positive thing for the species that only the strongest of the herd will survive and continue to reproduce. Some types of prey have defense mechanisms which fight off predators. Survival of the fittest is the best explained phrase for this type of ecological interaction. Introduction Predator prey relationships are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Predation and prey interactions keep the circle of life going. Benefits of Predation When a predator makes a kill, it feeds not only them, but other species as well. For example, if there is an elk kill, this will feed other predators like bear, mountain lion, coyotes, eagles and others. Smaller rodents and other scavengers, like ravens will also benefit from a kill. We are predators ourselves we have to kill to eat, just most of us don t do it ourselves, if we are meat eaters. What we don t eat can go to the dogs and feed them. Bacteria and other parasites can also join in on the fun. Other things we don t eat, can go to compost, so there are many ways in which predation benefits the food chain. It definitely feeds various links on the food web. Predation is also used to control populations of certain problematic species, such as snails, which pass certain types of diseases to other species including humans, as explained by Molles. They have used crayfish in some places such as Kenya and other East African countries to control a problematic snail population. (Molles, 343) This happens here at times also, with introducing species that will eradicate problem species or invasive species that are taking over watersheds and other ecosystems. • 5. Pros And Cons Of Job Design In The Workplace When looking at job design in the workplace, we know it is an enhancement in job satisfaction, that will improve quality and to reduce employee problems in the workforce. It is also referred to as a task or a work design that is the fundamental of human resources in the management of organizations Job design is the main part in organizations tasks to groups and individuals with in the business world. There are core dimensions in job design that are skill variety, task identity, task signification, autonomy, and feedback. We use these dimensions to better understand which job designs that better suit organizations when deciding to work in group/teams or simply working independently. A successful job design whether in groups or individuals will result in a higher and increased performance and productivity. Overall, there are three broad factors that affect the job design that are organizational factors (work nature, workflow, and practices/ergonomics), environmental factors (employee availability/abilities and the socio economics and cultural expectations), and finally behavioral factors (factors of human need: autonomy, feedback, diversity, and the use of skills/abilities). As reading through different material there are many pros and cons in whether deciding if all jobs should be designed around groups rather than individualbased organizations. Should all jobs be designed primarily around a group setting in the workforce? To answer this question, we must first ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 7. Supporting Empirical Law With Graphical Analysis Supporting Empirical Law with Graphical Analysis INTRODUCTION Much of the new and impressive science throughout history naturally originates from theory; many great and important mathematical and scientific discoveries come about by excellent thinking. This does not mean that these findings do not have evidence; even Galileo conducted experiments to support his claims. However many brilliant theorists work in a field, physical science derives certain laws only through experimentation and discovery. An empirical law shows itself to be true not by theory, but by repeated observations and trials. This experiment discovered the empirical law that predicts the period of a simple pendulum through graphical analysis. The length of time taken for a simple pendulum to finish a period cannot be hypothesized on the laws of physics alone. The empirical law of a simple pendulum, which was revealed after experimentation had concluded, written: T=2.00в€ љl+0 means that the time, T, of the period of the simple pendulum equals twice the square root of the length. It was hypothesized that the data collected would support the empirical, within reasonable percent error. By determining the graphical relationships between different variables and their effect on the period of the pendulum, the raw data revealed an equation. You re a terrible teacher! No one cares about school. Teachers are humiliating students in front of their peers. Consistently criticizing students for their lack of enthusiasm, laziness, insubordination, and ungratefulness. Students fight amongst themselves, compete against one another in an effort to achieve high marks even if it means cheating on assignments and assessments. Unfortunately, this epidemic of disrespect needs to be acknowledged. Why? Because the rapid changes we have witnessed in our schools in the 21st Century has become a troubling phenomenon. As teachers, we are to provide a safe and positive learning environment conducive to learning. We have a simple job and that is to teach students material and to make sure they understand it. Unfortunately, we have those students who make our lives difficult. They have complete disrespect for their teachers as well as their peers because they are disrupting the classroom affecting the learning abilities of those students who want to be there. Most students lean toward this type of behavior when teachers are trying to discipline them. We enforce discipline because it is our job to make sure the learning environment stays focused. • 10. The Ethics Of Business Management Essay Prior to my interview with Dr. Lisa Calvano, I did not have the impression that research was involved in any part of business management. After meeting with her, I learned exactly how important research is to the business management discipline. Research in business management is a systematic investigation that helps to answer complications and problems within businesses. Researchin the field contributes to solid managementunderstanding and knowledge. Information from research is usually produced by classical methods: statistical data and analysis, interview data, and survey data (i.e., stock prices). Researchers, especially in businessmanagement must be careful to declare their research findings as credible. Research in business management abides by ethical thinking. Researchers evaluate their data properly and need to recognize that specified data may be confidential. Most data that management researchers find is private and it is intended to be kept that way. When researchers question the ethics behind their research, they look to an Institutional Review Board (IRB) and occasionally The Code of Ethics . The IRB is a council that was instituted to review and authorize any and all research engaging humans. The purpose of the committee is to protect human subject research and to ensure it is regulated according to federal, institutional and ethical guidelines. The variation of traits to be selected upon by the environment allows for the changing of allele frequencies among the generations of the population. One of the main sources for genetic variation is sexual reproduction, which occurred between members of the Na vi and members of the Thanator species. Sexual reproduction among members of a species can lead to genetic mutations in the DNA, which can attribute to the variability of genes. One obvious variable trait among the hominid species of Pandora is their height. Over grazing was growing so rapidly in the 1800 s and later in that century caused the public rangelands to become severely depleted and overcrowded (U.S Department of the Interior, 2015). The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) reports that after the implementation of the Taylor Grazing Act (TGA) of 1934 there was a significant decrease in grazing livestock on public lands by ranchers, decrease in livestock population, and increased operation sustainability and stability (U.S Department of the Interior, 2015). As a result, between ranchers cattle, sheep and horses, sustainable grass is scarce and can hardly support a variety of herds. (Rayburn, 2000). In contrast, journalist Robin Walters and Sebastian Tsocanos report that there are not many overgrazed pastures at all (Rediscover The Prairie, 2014). In addition, they find that it is not a bad thing for a few herds to be around. Moreover, they express a lack or worry for overgrazing creating another situation similar to the one during the 1800 s that was widely considered a Dust Bowl (Rediscover The Prairie, 2014). What is Suncor s Future? Based on the challenges identified, and the way that Suncor approaches these challenges, the future looks bright for Suncor. As the case study points out, water use is an environmental issue that requires careful management (Vietor, 2016, p.7). The major oil producing companies were taking measures to reduce the amount of fresh water they were withdrawing from the Athabasca River, and the Canadian government had restricted withdrawals to 5.2% of the river s median flow (Vietor, 2016, p.7). The government regulated that they could use 59.8 million cubic meters annually, however, their 2014 usage was only 18.65 million cubic meters, (Vietor, 2016 p.12). In Foucault s writings on the prison panopticon his idea of a perfected disciplinary institution of a disciplinary society Foucault describes how inmates (or Disney s guests) behavior and movements is overseen and tightly controlled (Dillon, p. 371). This level of control is clear from the moment you enter Disney: barriers, guardrails, and directions guide you to preordained locations, and Disney employees and rides reinforce those restrictions and guidances at numerous points throughout your visit (Shearing, p. 301 302). More significantly, in the panopticon design, inmates are always under surveillance. Further, inmates are aware they are always under surveillance even if they cannot see their supervisor so that they begin monitoring their own actions to conform with rules and restrictions (Dillon, p. 371). At Disney, once a guest breaks the rules or regulations, they quickly become aware that they are being surveilled. She was rejected by her lover and can be seen as almost mad because of the emotions that she projects into her writings due to this affair. Charlotte also was well read on the psychology of the time. She attended medical lectures and would have discussed such with her father Patrick Bronte (Small 155). Charlotte eventually settled for her father s curate, Mr. Nicholls, as her husband, though initially she did not love him (Winnifirth 111). Through the events of Charlotte s life it is easy to see parts of her in the characters of Jane Eyre and Bertha Mason. Charlotte uses Bertha as a rebellious outlet for not only Jane but for herself as well. The feminist critics Sandra Gilbert and Susan Gubar clearly summarize this phenomenon when they state By projecting their rebellious impulses not into their heroines but into mad or monstrous women, female authors dramatize their own self division. Regular season playwent reasonably well, but the highlight of the season was when the team went to The Yellowstone Cup in Rexburg, Idaho. This is where we had the most growth as a team and where I learned the most about tactics as a coach. The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Everyone was keyed up for the game. You could feel the energy on the field, it was contagious. After warm ups the referees had us line up and walk onto the field and face the crowd, so our fans could take pictures of us. Once the referee blew the whistle and the game started the intensity instantly doubled. Right as the game started, I could see the new formation we worked on in our game against Bridger valley that morning wasn t going to work. The Pocatello players were penetrating our defense. Changing formations on the fly with young players is extremely difficult. While I was struggling to get the team to understand what I wanted them to do, Pocatello scored. I did a couple substitutions at the restart, so I could put the team back in its regular formation. We continued to fight for the rest of the half, but we just couldn t get any shots in the net. Right before the half ended one of my speedy outside defenders collided with another player and went down. Her knee popped and hurt to walk on, so she could no longer play. The trainer that was covering the game said nothing in her knee was torn, but it probably would be best if she didn t continue to play. The referee restarted the game, and we continued until halftime. At halftime we talked about staying calm and passing the ball instead of just trying to kick it down the middle of the field. Once the game started in the first few minutes we controlled the ball and had a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 45. Nicola Sacco Essay In this world, anything can happen. We can drive, text, and be framed for murder. Yeah, being framed for murder. That s what happened to Nicola Sacco. We should start at the beginning. Nicola Sacco was born in the Italian town of Torremaggiore on 22nd April, 1891. He emigrated to the United States when he was seventeen. Sacco found work in a shoe factory in Stoughton, Massachusetts. He got married and started a family. Sacco also became involved in left wing politics and at one anarchist gathering met Bartolomeo Vanzetti, an Italian immigrant working as a fish peddler in Plymouth. Like many left wing radicals, Sacco and Vanzetti were opposed to the First World War. They took part in protest meetings and in 1917, when the United States... The Morelli brothers were well known criminals who had carried out similar robberies in area of Massachusetts. However, the authorities refused to investigate the confession made by Madeiros. Many leading writers and artists became involved in a campaign to obtain a retrial. Although, Webster Thayer, the original judge, was officially criticised for his conduct at the trial, the authorities refused to overrule the decision to execute the men. By the summer of 1927 it became clear that Sacco and Bartolomeo Vanzetti would be executed. On 23rd August 1927, the day of execution, over 250,000 people took part in a silent demonstration in Boston. Soon after the executions, Eugene Lyons published his book, The Life and Death of Sacco and Vanzetti. Fifty years later, on 23rd August, 1977, Michael Dukakis, the Governor of Massachusetts, issued a proclamation, effectively absolving the two men of the crime. From beginning to end, Nicola Sacco had been blamed for murder. This is the world we live in. A world where someone can t be free until after death. A world where we discriminate other for being different and then let them for ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The men who took oaths were then called fidelis, meaning faithful man in Latin (Biel). These pledges became common by the year 700. When a knight took a feudal oath of lifelong loyalty to their king, it was called an oath of homage (Biel). Consequent to these oaths, the knight owed his life to his leader until death. That doesn t mean he was treated poorly. They were given gifts that many people would only dream of receiving. Knights that took vows were offered gifts like armour, horses, fine clothing, a home at the castle, and produce from the land. Prized knights were even offered land. These gifts were called benefices. It soon became mandatory for knights to take their vows. Over a period of time, these oaths began to change. During feudalism unexampled oaths took place.
