Red Figure Technique ( Herakles And The Nemean Lion )
Although these two vessels, one in the Black figure technique (Theseus and the Minotaur) and the
other in Red figure technique (Herakles and the Nemean Lion), have very distinct styles and
techniques, they also have key similarities, that with closer analysis, reveal more about Greek values
than was originally known. Showing us how Greek art had not only developed over time, but also
providing an understanding as to why Greeks found scenes of heroes battling monsters so popular.
However, before we can begin to discuss why Greeks found scenes of heroes battling monsters so
popular, we must first explore the two vessels individually (without the artwork). Firstly, the Black
figure jar (Theseus and the Minotaur). With further research, we find the title of this work is, Attic
Black Figure Neck Amphora, and it is attributed to Group E (workshop of Exekias), dated
approximately 550 B.C.E. Athens, Greece. The medium is terracotta, and it is an amphora, meaning a
storage jar, most likely used to store wine or oil. Similarly, the Red figure jar (Herakles and the
Nemean Lion) was also made of terracotta, but instead of storing wine or oil, it is said to have been a
hydria, meaning it was more like a water pitcher. Titled the Attic Red Figure Kalpis , we find that the
artist was probably an Aegisthus painter, who lived in Athens, Greece, around 470 B.C.E. As
previously stated, both vessels were terracotta jars, however, in order to achieve the black figure, and

The System Of Dr. Tarr And Prof
The reason I chose The System of Dr. Tarr And Prof. Fether, Ligeia, and The Murders in the Rue
Morgue, is because the stories all have similar themes. The theme in The System of Dr. Tarr and Prof.
Fether is to never trust everybody right away because they might not be who they say they are. The
theme for Ligeia is the different versions of reality. The main theme for The Murders in the Rue
Morgue is the main character was amazed at a lot of things in life. I chose The System of Dr. Tarr and
Prof. Fether because the story had an amazing plot and theme. The story had a theme that you should
not trust everyone you meet right away. The man who went to visit the insane asylum, was too
trustworthy and trusted Monsieur Maillard too soon. He believed

The Purpose Of The Pantheon
The Pantheon is one the greatest paradoxes in modern archeology. On the one hand, the structure s
preservation is absolutely remarkable and has allowed scholars from all over the world the opportunity
to study its design for centuries. Yet, for such a well known and iconic building, the meaning behind
the Pantheon remains uncertain. Many scholars, unsatisfied with the mainstream theory that the
building was a temple dedicated to all gods; have proposed their own unique explanation for the
Pantheon s purpose. Perhaps the most radical of these can be found in Adam Ziolkowski s article Was
Agrippa s Pantheon the Temple of Mars In Campo? ; which proposes, as the title suggests, that the
original Pantheon was actually the Temple of Mars in campo ... Show more content on

First, Ziolkowski notes that the Pantheon s southern neighbor, the Temple of Neptune, had a similar
change in purpose as it became the Basilica of Neptune. Ziolkowski cites the calendar Fasti Palatii
Urbinatis as the clue about the fate of these two buildings. Written around the same time as the
Pantheon s construction, 13 BC, the Fasti Palatii Urbinatis does not make any mention of the temple
of Mars and Neptune in Campo. However, this calendar only recorded temple that were aedes
publicae, public temples. If the two in campo temples were not aedes publicae, this would explain
their absence from this calendar. As to why the temple of Mar and Neptune in Campo were not made
into public temples, Ziolkowski cites the the only war Augustus ever lost, that against Roman public
opinion, which stubbornly refused to approve of monuments exalting victories won in civil war. The
two temple in campo were constructed to honor Agrippa s (and Augustus s) land and sea victories,
which would conflict with public opinion. By making them both private temple, Agrippa avoided the
forces that apparently made Augustus pull down his first triumphal arch in the Forum. However not
being aedes publicae, had a downside. Unlike a public temple whose character and patron deity or
deities were fixed and known to everybody, and could not be changed except through the ritual of
inauguration or rededication , a private temple dedication was subject to more flexibility. Ziolkowski
suggests that the same dissenters could have sifted the changed the temples purposes after the reign of
Emperor Augustus had ended. However, Ziolkowski does offer another suspect for the two temple s

Tacofino Persuasive Speech
Tacofino is a name everyone in British Columbia and frankly all over Canada needs to know about.
When I moved to Port Alberni back in 2012 one of the first things I wanted to do was surf. When I
used to come out to Ucluelet from Ontario to visit my father he would set my brother and myself with
surf lessons in Tofino. It wasn t hard to get my new found friends to take me to tofino and help me get
set up. In all the excitement of the day I found it funny that all my friends kept talking about was
Tacofino, using my ingenious intuition I came to realize it was a mexican restaurant. They literally
couldn t stop talking about it the whole drive from Port Alberni. When we arrived I came to another

Cloud Computing Impacts On Modern Hardware And Software...
Introduction The twenty first century as the digital era offers a more accessible information and
widely available anytime, hardware designers and software developers increasingly emphasize the
way how the cloud computing shapes electronic hardware design and system dynamic control. The
cloud can be described as an ecosystem, which contains applications and maintain computer?s
resources. As the specific ecosystem it needs to meet particular requirement of an enterprise such as
adaptability, quick response, extensibility and the security(1). This essay aims to discuss how cloud
computing impacts on modern hardware and software applications. Firstly, this report examines the
theory of cloud computing. Next, it discuss the impact of cloud computing on the infrastructure and
how cloud computing is changing the way of software being built. Finally, it focuses on giving details
about some potential risk that need to face and solutions which can help to create and bring a new
revolution to hardware and software area in the future. The theory of cloud computing Progress in the
field of technology and its development as growing number of users, high demand of internet services
with the minimum use of network and absorbing broad server resources forced Google to come up
with a new resolving problems idea cloud computing. In 2011 The National Institute of Standards and

Bankruptcy Among Former Professional Athletes
Bankruptcy has become a normality among sports culture. A young athlete signs a multi million dollar
contact, they play the sport they love, they retire (or get cut), then their spending habits catch up to
them and eventually leading to bankruptcy. Over and over this has been the case for hundreds of
former professional athletes. This reoccurring phenomena has become the identity for a plethora of
athletes, like of once great sport icons such as, Mike Tyson and Vince Young. Many people have
forgotten about their accomplishments in their respective sports because they are now all in the
shadow of their money troubles. It seems as if it isn t a matter of if an athlete will go bankrupt, rather,
it is a matter of when they will. But why does this ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

them (Callahan). As soon as these professional athletes become rich, people instantly come out of the

cases means never. Many athletes turn pro, then before they know it, not only are they supporting their
self for the first time, they begin supporting close friends and family members. The people who care
about them the most take all of the athletes money. More often than not, before these athletes even
realize that they can not efficiently support all these people forever, they are on their way to going
broke. They are spending more than they are saving eventually leading to bankruptcy. Thinking that
they have all the money in the world, many of the invincible feeling athletes just hand out the money

Descriptive Essay On Floria
Located just between the Atlantic Ocean and the Gulf of Mexico, and home to famous amusement
parks, museums, and beaches, it s easy to see why so many tourists get lured into visiting Florida each
year. In fact, USA Today ranks the Orange State as a year round tourist destination due to its tropical
weather. This means that for those of us who live in cooler climate cities, Florida could be a great way
to escape those harsh winter months.
There are still, however, a lot of travelers who know very little about the 27th state. In other words,
when tourists think of Florida, they envision Daytona Beach, Miami, Walt Disney World, and of
course, the Wizarding World of Harry Potter out in Orlando. This makes sense, because those are all
beautiful places worth seeing. However, there are still some other locations throughout Florida worth
visiting that remain under the radar.
If you re a traveler considering going somewhere different for the upcoming holidays whether you
plan on hanging out at the beach or seeing Florida s wildlife here are some places to visit in case if
you find your way down to the panhandle state.
Palm Beach: This city is home to the most beautiful resorts, and historic landmarks the state has to
offer. Palm Beach itself is lined with countless trees and provides a large number of places to eat and
shop.
When s a good time to visit this beautiful city?
Anytime s a good time to visit Palm Beach and see what all this extravagant island has to offer.

Explanatory Understanding Of Crime Essay
Many academics in the field of social sciences have focused much of their research on the topic of
crime. Scholars of many disciplines have tried to attempt answer the question why humans commit
crimes. Max Weber defined explanatory understanding and adequacy on the level of meaning as ways
to understand why people act certain ways in the world by contextualizing these reasons to cultural
norms. By using Weber s definitions, we can understand why people commit crimes of larceny,
vandalism, and weapon possession, and why rates for these crimes differ between men and women.
Focusing on larceny and vandalism, adequacy on the level of meaning may help identify the causes of
these crimes. To understand why people commit crimes or act the way they do in certain situations,
one can turn to Weber s definitions of explanatory meaning and adequacy on the level of meaning.
Firstly, Weber defines ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Weber states that a motive is a complex of subjective meaning which seems to the actor himself or to
the observer an adequate ground for the conduct in question. We apply the term adequacy on the level
of meaning to the subjective interpretation of a coherent course of conduct when the action is
recognized to constitute a typical complex of meaning (98 99). What Weber means by this is that
when there is a complicated reasoning behind an action, a subjective interpretation must be applied in
that situation. It is misguided to oversimplify a complex situation because the entire perspective of the
situation can be lost. Once the subjective interpretation can be matched up with our cultural norms and
rules, then we have reached adequacy on the level of meaning in understanding that situation.
Adequacy on the level of meaning can help us answer questions that are difficult to answers, one of
these being why do people commit certain

Post World War II Size
On Monday, 24 February 2014, Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel announced massive cuts to the size
of the armed services, slashing the army to its pre World War II size. (breithbart.com) Hagel s plan
called for a 25% reduction in manpower by 2019. Historically, these cuts equate to a perceived failure
of will power of the American government by its global enemies. Such cuts are sure to decrease the
readiness posture of fighting units across the military. First order effects from cuts to funding equate to
poorly maintained equipment, reduced personnel readiness, as well as fewer opportunities for
professional military educational type schools. Second order effects include gaps in the NCO and

(breithbart.com) This unwillingness to fund defense led both Hitler and the Japanese to believe they
could make war on the United States with any repercussion.
After World War II, President Truman cited the end of the war to justify his defense cuts; however, the
Korean War began, arguably, because of the large scale military cuts, which encouraged the Soviets
and Chinese Communists toward aggression on the Korean peninsula. As a result, government
officials increased the defense budget from $9.1 billion to just under $53.
Immediately following the Vietnam conflict, congress once again began defunding the military. The
end state of these specific cuts resulted in the United States pulling out of Saigon as communism
dominated the country. Additionally, the Soviets later invaded Afghanistan compelled to do so
possibly because of a perceived American distaste for foreign war. The election of Ronald Reagan was
instrumental in the recovery of this mistake as he implemented large increases in military
expenditures.

Birthday By Dorothea Tanning Summary
Dorothea Tanning s painting Birthday from 1942 is an oil on canvas self portrait. The painting s
prominent subject is a woman who is standing alone to the left of the canvas. She is dressed uniquely
in a dark brown ruffled skirt that reaches all the way to her calves. On the sides of her skirt, there is an
abundance of vine like roots overflowing from the back towards the front. Her top is an open, purple,
green and white decorative jacket; revealing her bosom, chest and some of her torso. With her left
hand, she is holding onto one of the many doors that are behind her yet she is looking off in a different
direction from these doors. The woman has no shoes on and to the right of her feet is an animal that
looks like a combination of a cat and bat that has big yellow eyes and large wings. The outfit choice of
the woman reflects not only modernity but also antiquity thus, making the time represent the turn of
the century. This combination of modernity and antiquity reveals something new which attributes to
the portraits name, Birthday. Behind the woman and animal beside her, is a long hallway that seems to
be never ending of open doors; showing that the paintings setting is indoors. The exact location is
unidentifiable because there is no furniture to indicate where she is, which signifies a sense of
isolation. Though the look on the woman s face and the hallway of doors initially give a perception of
loneliness and unknowingness, the colors, composition, and lines create a

Social, Political, And Economical Cause Of The Mexican...
Social, Political, and Economical Causes of the Mexican Revolution There were an abundance of
social, political, and economical factors that led to the Mexican Revolution. Socially, there was a great
displacement in the treatment between the elite and rich classes and the poor classes. Politically, what
once started out as a Republic, after they had won their independence, had transitioned into a
tyrannical dictatorship. Economically, Mexico was over dependent on loans from foreign nations such
as France, Spain, England, and The United State of America.
AFTERMATH OF WAR OF INDEPENDENCE Mexico had gained its independence from Spain in
the year of 1821, although a substantial amount of damage had been inflicted as Mexico was in
disorder and decay. The economy was in shambles, as Mexico owed money to The United States of
America, France, and England. Also, the social classes experienced a drop off in upper class citizens
as every Spaniard was forced out of Mexico after the war for independence. Economically, many
industries such as mining, textile, and others became useless, as there was lack of production, because
of the absence of the Spaniards. The effects of war were very visible throughout all of Mexico as
villages were left ruined, roads were neglected, and about 15 30 percent of the male populations were
unemployed.

Roundup Ready Soybeans
Monsanto s Roundup Ready Soybean (RRS) is a genetically engineered variety of soybeans, which
contains gene sequences from a cauliflower mosaic virus (CMV), a petunia, and a bacterium
(Agrobacterium sp.) (Greenpeace, 1997). The two bacterial genes, in short, provide for resistance
against Roundup, resulting in a crop of soybeans that can be sprayed with Roundup to protect it from
weeds, while not injuring it. In 1996, U.S. farmers harvested about 1.2 million acres of Roundup
Ready Soybeans, and although this crop represented only about 2 percent of U.S. soybeans, it will be
mixed with conventional soybeans unlabeled to become part of as much as 60 percent of all processed
foods that contain some soy based ingredient (Bruno, 1997). In the United States, most consumers are
likely to have already ingested small amounts of transgenic soy in such common food as margarine,

The Roman Empire
However, numerous aspects allowed the Byzantine Empire to stay in power for a 1000 years after the
end of the Roman Empire; primarily the emperors were focused on the political, culture and economic
affairs from top to bottom. This triangle strategy of the empire backed by a greater strategic
communication and well designed political warfare against their rivals enabled the empire to stay
stable and secure. There are also few other internal and external factors and advantages. Including
some great permanent resource such as Anatolia for workforce and Egypt for cash. The regional
stability was also a significant factor and the Persia, and the Islamic caliphates have not significantly

borders and few disputes over the land and boundaries. The active Macedonians military and the
Thema system militias were an essential factor in the security. But, the role of leadership should not be

In the first 3 seconds of the Makaveli album your hear someone say Suge Shot Him . You hear the

who knew what was going on with Suge Knight killing him or was it just some publicity stunt for

The Pianist And The Pianist
Holocaust is one of the most dreadful and unforgettable time in human history. This event of a huge
genocide has become the topic of many films; and The Pianist is one of the films. The Pianist is a
historical drama directed by Roman Polanski. The movie is based on the true memories of Wladyslaw
Szpilman, a Jewish pianist who had survived from the Holocaust. The movie describes how
Wladyslaw Szpilman manages to escape from the Ghetto and survive through the massacre of Jews in
Poland by luck. The most surprising scene in the movie is when a German captain, Wilm Hosenfeld,

Szpilman s mental state grow stronger as he tries to survive in the crumble Warsaw city. A slow pace

The Importance Of Religion In Islam
Until what point can faith and beliefs dictate what is right or wrong? Practicing a religion can provide
emotional well being, happiness and guiding; however, in some cases religion can have a negative
effect in a society because it can be used to justify violence or social inequalities. One of the most
controversial religion is the Islam because it has many interpretations that can lead to power abuse and
manipulation for personal interests. Moreover, Saudi Arabia is considered the birthplace of Islam,
where Muslims practice what is known as Wahhabi Islam, which is also highly controversial and
criticized by western cultures because of its extreme regime and promotion of violence. The kingdom
of Saudi Arabia is the most conservative Muslim country in the world, and it is mired in 13th century

Key Elements Of A Stress Management Program
1. Three things are necessary for stress to occur: a stressor, a perception of stress, and a stress
response. The three main elements of a stress management program include the
elimination/modification/reduction of the number of stressors, an alteration of our perceptions, and the
reduction/modification/control of the stress response.
2. Often, when we think of stress, we automatically think of the bad kind. In all reality, stress isn t
always a bad thing; it is just the body s response to changes that create some demands in our lives.
There are many different positive stressors that are short term and motivate us as we work to improve
our performance in our day to day lives. It is important to note that these positive stressors have the
potential to cause some distress at a certain point. There is a peak at which stress switches from
eustress to distress. Eustress or good stress increases performance up to the peak. Once the peak is
reached, distress or bad stress kicks in and performance declines. When that certain amount of stress is
reached and the tipping point occurs, we may need to use various stress management strategies to help
us get back on the right track and alleviate some of this distress we are feeling.
3. Stress, to a certain degree, is a necessity in our lives. It gives us precious, powerful fight or flight
hormones that have the ability to keep us safe in times of danger. Along with that, small amounts of
stress often help us perform tasks more

many individuals would choose to admit. This form of violence is by no means new and culturally the
problem itself does not discriminate, there is no specific criteria that completely omits one from
becoming a victim of domestic violence. The dynamics of domestic violence consist of the aggressor
utilizing violence to maintain dominance and control over the victim. The victimization that is
consistent with domestic violence can come in various forms including, physical, sexual,
psychological, mental/emotional, and financial. Domestic violence victimization is a cycle that usually
is difficult to terminate by many victims as well as aggressors. Individuals involved in abusive
relationships continue to remain in them for various reasons such as, maintaining financial stability,
desire or hope that things will change overtime, fear that their abuser, will further harm them for
leaving the relationship, embarrassment of their situation, or there may be children involved and the
victims wants to avoid some of the harsh realities associated with a broken home. Oftentimes
domestic violence victims blame themselves for the violence encountered by their abusers, figuring
that if they do things differently the next time, maybe they won t be victimized again by their partner.
Conversely, violence committed by abusers is often self driven and hinges on very minor actions
executed by the

The World Health Organization has confirmed that 5,288 people have recently lost their lives to the

Note: Regardless of how tempting it sounds, never eat fruit bats or antelope. In African countries,
these animals are delicacies, but have also been identified as potential carriers of Ebola. According to
NPR writer Michaeleen Doucleff, fruit bat and antelope meat are believed to be hosts for Ebola
(Doucleff). Not only can their meat be infected, but they can also contaminate fruit and pass the virus
onto its consumer. Recent research studies have shown that the infection has the ability to coexist and
replicate in bats but will not kill them nor will it cause them to show any sign of infection, making
them the perfect carriers (Leroy et al. 575).

attention to a new threat... the possibility of an Ebola bomb.

The Awakening Personality Traits
In Kate Chopin s novel, The Awakening, the main character, Edna Pontellier, has three distinct
personality traits that define her throughout the book. One of her most perceptible traits is her
irresponsibility, especially in how she cares for her children and husband. Related to this peculiarity, is
her capacity to behave childish, particularly in terms of how she allows her emotions to sweep her
away as well as her inability to think about the potential consequences. Her most prominent
personality trait the one that forms the backbone of the conflict, is Edna s eagerness to defy society
and the roles given to women. These traits are consistent throughout the novel and while the character
does change by the end, these aspects never disappear. The main conflict in The Awakening is a

ending is so surprising because generally at the end of a novel, the main character has learned

Awakening, this does not occur. the main protagonist, Edna undergoes a significant change in
behavior, attitude and overall character throughout the novel. Edna becomes more aware and

Sql Injection And Its Effects
INTRODUCTION:
Throughout the years the SQL Injection risk has developed so much that now significantly more
obliterating assaults are seen than any time in recent history. Many Organizations are being broken by
means of SQL Injection assaults that slip consistently through the system firewall and detour their web
application firewalls (WAF). This gives attackers a good chance to exploit databases and internal
networks of the organization. Being one of the top ten threats in OWASP, this particular threat has
gained a lot of attention.
SQL injection attacks discloses delicate database data by exploiting input validation vulnerabilities in
a Web webpage. Usually, Web sites validate all user inputs before sending queries to the database. If
this is not done properly for every input (might be thousands), an intruder may modify data/values in a
Web request to in turn modify queries sent to a back end database. The results of these unapproved
requests are then shown as an HTML response with possibly a large amount of compromised data.
Recognizing SQL parts infused into a Web application has demonstrated greatly difficult. There are a
few preventions that organizations can take prevention, remediation, and mitigation. While
implementing prevention and remediation, the organization endeavors to create secure code and
scramble secret information put away in the database. In any case, these are not generally accessible
choices. For Example, sometimes the application source code

The Ku Klux Klan
The Ku Klux Klan
Typically referred to as the KKK, the Ku Klux Klan was an immorally racist secret society which
utilised acts of violence and terrorism to assert white supremacy and maintain a strict racial hierarchy
in South America following the end of the American Civil War in 1865.
History
The KKK was a Christian organisation formed in Pulaski, Tennessee on December the 24th, 1865.
The name Ku Klux Klan is derived from the Greek word kylos , meaning circle, and the Scottish
Gaelic word of clan for the sake of alliteration. The 19th century clan established to reverse the post
civil war laws which elevated the rights of the African American population and to prevent the
abolishment of slavery. The original KKK group reached its peak between 1868 and 1870, having
introduced the first extreme aspects of racism and discrimination following the introduction of laws
after the war.
Members of the anti Black organisation sought the restoration of white supremacy throughout the
South and employed intimidation and violence as a method of pushing back the enfranchisement of
local African Americans. The group focused on targeting countries where the races were treated
relatively equal.
In the hopes of influencing upcoming elections and providing the organisation with an opportunity to
overthrow Republican state governments, representatives would destroy property, assault locals, raid
areas and commit terror acts and devious crimes such as murder.
The KKK would

Through the novel, Kesey illustrates McMurphy as an archetype to portray the parallels between
McMurphy and a Christ Figure. Early on in the novel, McMurphy brings to the ward a zest for life and
an insistence upon individuality and exploration (Vitkus 56). He allows for the patients to reawakened
without fear of the consequence. He can serve as an enthusiasm causing the patients to smile and
laugh with being frightened of being analyzed by the nurses. Another instance, McMurphy is crucified
when he was sent to the electrical shock therapy, the way he laid on the table ironically, like a cross,
with a crown of electric sparks in place of thorns (Kesey). This illustration of McMurphy on the
tables, self scaring himself to protect the patient and to be brave for Bromden proves his willingness to
save them. By him on the table laying the way Christ died, simulates the ward lack of humanity.

Similarities Between Big Daddy And Daddy Bee
Daddy Bee
When thinking about civil law we depict a set of interpretation of rules that codify laws that we
follow. Lawmakers are typically the essential individuals providing greater explanations of how the
law applies. In the films Big Daddy and Bee Movie I was able to analyze a representation of Americas
civil law systems with many different concepts. Big Daddy is a film where a man named Sonny
Koufax has spent his entire life avoiding responsibility. Then one day his girlfriend dumps him so he
decides to find a way to prove that he is ready to grow up. This is the moment when a five year old kid
name Julian, comes knocking at his apartment door claiming that he is the father. Nevertheless, Julian
is not actually Sonny s kid but ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When thinking about these two films we can see how has civil law establish a representation of torts,
negligence, product liability, compensatory damages, and many other things that relate to the
analyzation of the American civil law portrayed in our media.
Torts in the bee movie were very visible. Being able to see that torts are typically application of
common law principles that develop over time through the accumulation of precedents raises an
awareness of what actually occurs in a case (Berk Lecture, 04/12/17). For example, in the Bee Movie
the scene where another bee named Adam Flayman stings an individual named Layton it was not his
intention to commit the injury but was still liable for doing so, because there was still someone who
got hurt, and in order for there to be a tort there has to be an injury. As a result, having torts provide
incentives for good conduct and disincentives for bad conduct, provides compensation, and fairness in
the objective over other mechanisms (Feinman,145) Thus said, with Adam committing the injury he
has to take responsibility for an action that he did.
Focusing on negligence in comparison to torts Big Daddy portraits a comparative negligence for the
fact that the plaintiff was at fault. The reason behind this is because Sonny new that keeping the kid
was not correct since he was not the legal guardian of the child. Thus in this case shows that Sonny
did not assume the risk after taking Julian in as his

Owning Exotic Pets Research Paper
Currently, in the pet market, a very prominent issue is present. Should private citizens be legally
allowed to own exotic pets? Owning exotic pets is dangerous, expensive, and cruel. The average
human should not be allowed to own exotic pets. In the first place, owning an exotic pet can be a risk
to your safety. The size of the animal does not determine how dangerous it is. In the article Do You
Really Want A Baby Tiger? the author Mia Lewis states It s not just big cats, poisonous snakes and
chimpanzees that can be harmful even smaller exotic pets can cause serious injuries. How dangerous
exotic pets can be is just another reason why they should not be owned by private citizens.
Along with being dangerous, exotic pets are also very expensive. Buying exotic pets is costly enough,
but they also require a great deal of money to maintain. A strong, large, sturdy habitat must be built for
the animal along with buying large amounts of food. On page 7, paragraph 3, Lewis states If keeping a
dog can be time consuming and costly, that s nothing compared to a adult lion or chimpanzee. Aside
from the cost of keeping a exotic pet, they need lots of of time and frequent attention that most people
simply don t have. Exotic pets being ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Emotional well being, like physical health, can be judged on a variety of dimensions. Yet, in both

Vindolanda s Impact On The New Roman Cursive
Is a Roman fort continuously built atop one another until the decline of the Western Roman Empire
and is a major archaeological site located North of England, in the county of Northumberland, and
was one of the major forts south of Hadrian s Wall. It is connected to other forts through a major road
system called Stanegate Road that was built even before the wall, and is still very much extant up to
this day. The fort served as a defensive position at the frontier of the Roman occupied Britain from
around AD 85 to AD 410 against the unruly tribes in the North (Reeves 51). Vindolanda demands that
it be protected and preserved for the incredible amount of history and preserved artifacts, like the

sheltered soldiers, commanders, slaves and common people offering a glimpse into the everyday lives
of people who lived then. The name Vindolanda in Latin means white field, which provides clues to

Vasculitis Affects The Wall Of Blood Vessels In The Skin
By Dr Liji Thomas, MD
Vasculitis is an inflammatory disorder which affects the wall of blood vessels in the skin. It may be
classified based on the type of vessel involved, as small vessel, medium vessel and large vessel
vasculitis. The inflamed vessel wall undergoes destruction by the inflammatory infiltrate, resulting in
any of the following: hemorrhage from the disrupted blood vessel aneurysm of the weakened wall
hyperplasia of the intimal and medial layers leading to vessel narrowing ischemia or infarction of the
skin supplied by it
The skin is often involved in vasculitic syndromes, because it is so large and sois richly supplied with
blood vessels. Furthermore, iIt is exposed to low temperatures and is subject to the stagnation of blood

  • 2. Red Figure Technique ( Herakles And The Nemean Lion ) Although these two vessels, one in the Black figure technique (Theseus and the Minotaur) and the other in Red figure technique (Herakles and the Nemean Lion), have very distinct styles and techniques, they also have key similarities, that with closer analysis, reveal more about Greek values than was originally known. Showing us how Greek art had not only developed over time, but also providing an understanding as to why Greeks found scenes of heroes battling monsters so popular. However, before we can begin to discuss why Greeks found scenes of heroes battling monsters so popular, we must first explore the two vessels individually (without the artwork). Firstly, the Black figure jar (Theseus and the Minotaur). With further research, we find the title of this work is, Attic Black Figure Neck Amphora, and it is attributed to Group E (workshop of Exekias), dated approximately 550 B.C.E. Athens, Greece. The medium is terracotta, and it is an amphora, meaning a storage jar, most likely used to store wine or oil. Similarly, the Red figure jar (Herakles and the Nemean Lion) was also made of terracotta, but instead of storing wine or oil, it is said to have been a hydria, meaning it was more like a water pitcher. Titled the Attic Red Figure Kalpis , we find that the artist was probably an Aegisthus painter, who lived in Athens, Greece, around 470 B.C.E. As previously stated, both vessels were terracotta jars, however, in order to achieve the black figure, and red figure ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. The System Of Dr. Tarr And Prof The reason I chose The System of Dr. Tarr And Prof. Fether, Ligeia, and The Murders in the Rue Morgue, is because the stories all have similar themes. The theme in The System of Dr. Tarr and Prof. Fether is to never trust everybody right away because they might not be who they say they are. The theme for Ligeia is the different versions of reality. The main theme for The Murders in the Rue Morgue is the main character was amazed at a lot of things in life. I chose The System of Dr. Tarr and Prof. Fether because the story had an amazing plot and theme. The story had a theme that you should not trust everyone you meet right away. • 4. The Purpose Of The Pantheon The Pantheon is one the greatest paradoxes in modern archeology. On the one hand, the structure s preservation is absolutely remarkable and has allowed scholars from all over the world the opportunity to study its design for centuries. Yet, for such a well known and iconic building, the meaning behind the Pantheon remains uncertain. Many scholars, unsatisfied with the mainstream theory that the building was a temple dedicated to all gods; have proposed their own unique explanation for the Pantheon s purpose. Perhaps the most radical of these can be found in Adam Ziolkowski s article Was Agrippa s Pantheon the Temple of Mars In Campo? ; which proposes, as the title suggests, that the original Pantheon was actually the Temple of Mars in campo ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... First, Ziolkowski notes that the Pantheon s southern neighbor, the Temple of Neptune, had a similar change in purpose as it became the Basilica of Neptune. Ziolkowski cites the calendar Fasti Palatii Urbinatis as the clue about the fate of these two buildings. Written around the same time as the Pantheon s construction, 13 BC, the Fasti Palatii Urbinatis does not make any mention of the temple of Mars and Neptune in Campo. However, this calendar only recorded temple that were aedes publicae, public temples. If the two in campo temples were not aedes publicae, this would explain their absence from this calendar. As to why the temple of Mar and Neptune in Campo were not made into public temples, Ziolkowski cites the the only war Augustus ever lost, that against Roman public opinion, which stubbornly refused to approve of monuments exalting victories won in civil war. The two temple in campo were constructed to honor Agrippa s (and Augustus s) land and sea victories, which would conflict with public opinion. By making them both private temple, Agrippa avoided the forces that apparently made Augustus pull down his first triumphal arch in the Forum. However not being aedes publicae, had a downside. Unlike a public temple whose character and patron deity or deities were fixed and known to everybody, and could not be changed except through the ritual of inauguration or rededication , a private temple dedication was subject to more flexibility. Ziolkowski suggests that the same dissenters could have sifted the changed the temples purposes after the reign of Emperor Augustus had ended. However, Ziolkowski does offer another suspect for the two temple s ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Tacofino Persuasive Speech Tacofino is a name everyone in British Columbia and frankly all over Canada needs to know about. When I moved to Port Alberni back in 2012 one of the first things I wanted to do was surf. When I used to come out to Ucluelet from Ontario to visit my father he would set my brother and myself with surf lessons in Tofino. It wasn t hard to get my new found friends to take me to tofino and help me get set up. In all the excitement of the day I found it funny that all my friends kept talking about was Tacofino, using my ingenious intuition I came to realize it was a mexican restaurant. They literally couldn t stop talking about it the whole drive from Port Alberni. When we arrived I came to another realization it wasn t a restaurant it was a bus, converted into a food truck. A young athlete signs a multi million dollar contact, they play the sport they love, they retire (or get cut), then their spending habits catch up to them and eventually leading to bankruptcy. Over and over this has been the case for hundreds of former professional athletes. This reoccurring phenomena has become the identity for a plethora of athletes, like of once great sport icons such as, Mike Tyson and Vince Young. • 8. Descriptive Essay On Floria Located just between the Atlantic Ocean and the Gulf of Mexico, and home to famous amusement parks, museums, and beaches, it s easy to see why so many tourists get lured into visiting Florida each year. In fact, USA Today ranks the Orange State as a year round tourist destination due to its tropical weather. This means that for those of us who live in cooler climate cities, Florida could be a great way to escape those harsh winter months. There are still, however, a lot of travelers who know very little about the 27th state. In other words, when tourists think of Florida, they envision Daytona Beach, Miami, Walt Disney World, and of course, the Wizarding World of Harry Potter out in Orlando. • 9. Explanatory Understanding Of Crime Essay Many academics in the field of social sciences have focused much of their research on the topic of crime. Scholars of many disciplines have tried to attempt answer the question why humans commit crimes. Max Weber defined explanatory understanding and adequacy on the level of meaning as ways to understand why people act certain ways in the world by contextualizing these reasons to cultural norms. By using Weber s definitions, we can understand why people commit crimes of larceny, vandalism, and weapon possession, and why rates for these crimes differ between men and women. Focusing on larceny and vandalism, adequacy on the level of meaning may help identify the causes of these crimes. To understand why people commit crimes or act the way they do in certain situations, one can turn to Weber s definitions of explanatory meaning and adequacy on the level of meaning. Firstly, Weber defines ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Weber states that a motive is a complex of subjective meaning which seems to the actor himself or to the observer an adequate ground for the conduct in question. We apply the term adequacy on the level of meaning to the subjective interpretation of a coherent course of conduct when the action is recognized to constitute a typical complex of meaning (98 99). What Weber means by this is that when there is a complicated reasoning behind an action, a subjective interpretation must be applied in that situation. It is misguided to oversimplify a complex situation because the entire perspective of the situation can be lost. Once the subjective interpretation can be matched up with our cultural norms and rules, then we have reached adequacy on the level of meaning in understanding that situation. Adequacy on the level of meaning can help us answer questions that are difficult to answers, one of these being why do people commit certain ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Such cuts are sure to decrease the readiness posture of fighting units across the military. (breithbart.com) This unwillingness to fund defense led both Hitler and the Japanese to believe they could make war on the United States with any repercussion. After World War II, President Truman cited the end of the war to justify his defense cuts; however, the Korean War began, arguably, because of the large scale military cuts, which encouraged the Soviets and Chinese Communists toward aggression on the Korean peninsula. As a result, government officials increased the defense budget from $9.1 billion to just under $53. Immediately following the Vietnam conflict, congress once again began defunding the military. The end state of these specific cuts resulted in the United States pulling out of Saigon as communism dominated the country. • 11. Birthday By Dorothea Tanning Summary Dorothea Tanning s painting Birthday from 1942 is an oil on canvas self portrait. The painting s prominent subject is a woman who is standing alone to the left of the canvas. She is dressed uniquely in a dark brown ruffled skirt that reaches all the way to her calves. On the sides of her skirt, there is an abundance of vine like roots overflowing from the back towards the front. Her top is an open, purple, green and white decorative jacket; revealing her bosom, chest and some of her torso. With her left hand, she is holding onto one of the many doors that are behind her yet she is looking off in a different direction from these doors. The woman has no shoes on and to the right of her feet is an animal that looks like a combination of a cat and bat that has big yellow eyes and large wings. The outfit choice of the woman reflects not only modernity but also antiquity thus, making the time represent the turn of the century. This combination of modernity and antiquity reveals something new which attributes to the portraits name, Birthday. Behind the woman and animal beside her, is a long hallway that seems to be never ending of open doors; showing that the paintings setting is indoors. The exact location is unidentifiable because there is no furniture to indicate where she is, which signifies a sense of isolation. Though the look on the woman s face and the hallway of doors initially give a perception of loneliness and unknowingness, the colors, composition, and lines create a ... • 12. Social, Political, And Economical Cause Of The Mexican... Social, Political, and Economical Causes of the Mexican Revolution There were an abundance of social, political, and economical factors that led to the Mexican Revolution. Socially, there was a great displacement in the treatment between the elite and rich classes and the poor classes. Politically, what once started out as a Republic, after they had won their independence, had transitioned into a tyrannical dictatorship. Economically, Mexico was over dependent on loans from foreign nations such as France, Spain, England, and The United State of America. AFTERMATH OF WAR OF INDEPENDENCE Mexico had gained its independence from Spain in the year of 1821, although a substantial amount of damage had been inflicted as Mexico was in disorder and decay. The economy was in shambles, as Mexico owed money to The United States of America, France, and England. Also, the social classes experienced a drop off in upper class citizens as every Spaniard was forced out of Mexico after the war for independence. Economically, many industries such as mining, textile, and others became useless, as there was lack of production, because of the absence of the Spaniards. The effects of war were very visible throughout all of Mexico as villages were left ruined, roads were neglected, and about 15 30 percent of the male populations were unemployed. ... The three main elements of a stress management program include the elimination/modification/reduction of the number of stressors, an alteration of our perceptions, and the reduction/modification/control of the stress response. 2. Often, when we think of stress, we automatically think of the bad kind. In all reality, stress isn t always a bad thing; it is just the body s response to changes that create some demands in our lives. There are many different positive stressors that are short term and motivate us as we work to improve our performance in our day to day lives. It is important to note that these positive stressors have the potential to cause some distress at a certain point. There is a peak at which stress switches from eustress to distress. Eustress or good stress increases performance up to the peak. Once the peak is reached, distress or bad stress kicks in and performance declines. When that certain amount of stress is reached and the tipping point occurs, we may need to use various stress management strategies to help us get back on the right track and alleviate some of this distress we are feeling. 3. • 28. Sql Injection And Its Effects INTRODUCTION: Throughout the years the SQL Injection risk has developed so much that now significantly more obliterating assaults are seen than any time in recent history. Many Organizations are being broken by means of SQL Injection assaults that slip consistently through the system firewall and detour their web application firewalls (WAF). This gives attackers a good chance to exploit databases and internal networks of the organization. Being one of the top ten threats in OWASP, this particular threat has gained a lot of attention. SQL injection attacks discloses delicate database data by exploiting input validation vulnerabilities in a Web webpage. Usually, Web sites validate all user inputs before sending queries to the database. If this is not done properly for every input (might be thousands), an intruder may modify data/values in a Web request to in turn modify queries sent to a back end database. The results of these unapproved requests are then shown as an HTML response with possibly a large amount of compromised data. Recognizing SQL parts infused into a Web application has demonstrated greatly difficult. There are a few preventions that organizations can take prevention, remediation, and mitigation. While implementing prevention and remediation, the organization endeavors to create secure code and scramble secret information put away in the database. In any case, these are not generally accessible choices. For Example, sometimes the application source code ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 29. The Ku Klux Klan The Ku Klux Klan Typically referred to as the KKK, the Ku Klux Klan was an immorally racist secret society which utilised acts of violence and terrorism to assert white supremacy and maintain a strict racial hierarchy in South America following the end of the American Civil War in 1865. History The KKK was a Christian organisation formed in Pulaski, Tennessee on December the 24th, 1865. The name Ku Klux Klan is derived from the Greek word kylos , meaning circle, and the Scottish Gaelic word of clan for the sake of alliteration. The 19th century clan established to reverse the post civil war laws which elevated the rights of the African American population and to prevent the abolishment of slavery. The original KKK group reached its peak between 1868 and 1870, having introduced the first extreme aspects of racism and discrimination following the introduction of laws after the war. Members of the anti Black organisation sought the restoration of white supremacy throughout the South and employed intimidation and violence as a method of pushing back the enfranchisement of local African Americans. The group focused on targeting countries where the races were treated relatively equal. In the hopes of influencing upcoming elections and providing the organisation with an opportunity to overthrow Republican state governments, representatives would destroy property, assault locals, raid areas and commit terror acts and devious crimes such as murder. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Through the novel, Kesey illustrates McMurphy as an archetype to portray the parallels between McMurphy and a Christ Figure. Early on in the novel, McMurphy brings to the ward a zest for life and an insistence upon individuality and exploration (Vitkus 56). He allows for the patients to reawakened without fear of the consequence. He can serve as an enthusiasm causing the patients to smile and laugh with being frightened of being analyzed by the nurses. Another instance, McMurphy is crucified when he was sent to the electrical shock therapy, the way he laid on the table ironically, like a cross, with a crown of electric sparks in place of thorns (Kesey). This illustration of McMurphy on the tables, self scaring himself to protect the patient and to be brave for Bromden proves his willingness to save them. By him on the table laying the way Christ died, simulates the ward lack of humanity. Similarly to Jesus, one of McMurphy s ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 31. Similarities Between Big Daddy And Daddy Bee Daddy Bee When thinking about civil law we depict a set of interpretation of rules that codify laws that we follow. Lawmakers are typically the essential individuals providing greater explanations of how the law applies. In the films Big Daddy and Bee Movie I was able to analyze a representation of Americas civil law systems with many different concepts. Big Daddy is a film where a man named Sonny Koufax has spent his entire life avoiding responsibility. Then one day his girlfriend dumps him so he decides to find a way to prove that he is ready to grow up. This is the moment when a five year old kid name Julian, comes knocking at his apartment door claiming that he is the father. Nevertheless, Julian is not actually Sonny s kid but ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... When thinking about these two films we can see how has civil law establish a representation of torts, negligence, product liability, compensatory damages, and many other things that relate to the analyzation of the American civil law portrayed in our media. Torts in the bee movie were very visible. Being able to see that torts are typically application of common law principles that develop over time through the accumulation of precedents raises an awareness of what actually occurs in a case (Berk Lecture, 04/12/17). For example, in the Bee Movie the scene where another bee named Adam Flayman stings an individual named Layton it was not his intention to commit the injury but was still liable for doing so, because there was still someone who got hurt, and in order for there to be a tort there has to be an injury. As a result, having torts provide incentives for good conduct and disincentives for bad conduct, provides compensation, and fairness in the objective over other mechanisms (Feinman,145) Thus said, with Adam committing the injury he has to take responsibility for an action that he did. Focusing on negligence in comparison to torts Big Daddy portraits a comparative negligence for the fact that the plaintiff was at fault. The reason behind this is because Sonny new that keeping the kid was not correct since he was not the legal guardian of the child. Thus in this case shows that Sonny did not assume the risk after taking Julian in as his ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Owning exotic pets is dangerous, expensive, and cruel. The average human should not be allowed to own exotic pets. In the first place, owning an exotic pet can be a risk to your safety. The size of the animal does not determine how dangerous it is. In the article Do You Really Want A Baby Tiger? the author Mia Lewis states It s not just big cats, poisonous snakes and chimpanzees that can be harmful even smaller exotic pets can cause serious injuries. How dangerous exotic pets can be is just another reason why they should not be owned by private citizens. Along with being dangerous, exotic pets are also very expensive. Buying exotic pets is costly enough, but they also require a great deal of money to maintain. A strong, large, sturdy habitat must be built for the animal along with buying large amounts of food. On page 7, paragraph 3, Lewis states If keeping a dog can be time consuming and costly, that s nothing compared to a adult lion or chimpanzee. Aside from the cost of keeping a exotic pet, they need lots of of time and frequent attention that most people simply don t have. Exotic pets being ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 34. Vindolanda s Impact On The New Roman Cursive Is a Roman fort continuously built atop one another until the decline of the Western Roman Empire and is a major archaeological site located North of England, in the county of Northumberland, and was one of the major forts south of Hadrian s Wall. It is connected to other forts through a major road system called Stanegate Road that was built even before the wall, and is still very much extant up to this day. The fort served as a defensive position at the frontier of the Roman occupied Britain from around AD 85 to AD 410 against the unruly tribes in the North (Reeves 51). Vindolanda demands that it be protected and preserved for the incredible amount of history and preserved artifacts, like the wooden tablets with the transcribed words of earlier peoples, buried underneath the fort that once sheltered soldiers, commanders, slaves and common people offering a glimpse into the everyday lives of people who lived then.
