Example Of Ambush Marketing
What is the definition of the term Ambush marketing ? In his book Ambush marketing in sports Gerd
stated that the verb to ambush is identified as to attack. Thus the sponsors consider ambush marketing
as acts and illegal thefts. Moreover, according to Meenaghan, in his opinion this act is a practice of a
competitor that interferes with the attention of the audience near a specific event and distracts the
people s attention from the sponsor. 1, 2 Being a type of guerrilla marketing, Linda Norcross in her
article in Street Smith s SportsBusiness Journam, identified ambush marketing as the marketing
campaign that takes place during the organization of a big event while trying to escape from paying
any costs in terms of sponsoring that specific event. Linda also added that this act of ... Show more

Managing sponsorship deals with athletes, teams or organizations who are involved in the event. 3
Examples of these types: In 1984, Kodak decided to sponsor a TV broadcast despite that the official
sponsor of the 1984 games was Fuji. Moreover, in 1992, Nike sponsored a news conference starring
Michael Jordan who hid his Reebok uniform logo. In 1996, Puma who provided him with contact
lenses having the big Puma logo on them despite that Reebok was the official sponsor sponsored
Linford Christies the British runner. And in 2010, MasterCard utilized vehicles for food catering in
traffic areas in order to provide coffee to the spectators yet VISA was the official sponsor of the event.
3 Marketing professionals believe that ambush marketing is considered the definite effective and the
most creative mean of advertising at all times. Yet, some people claim that it affects and threatens to
erode the fundamental revenue base of mega sporting events.

Life and Suffering in the Trenches Essay
World War I, also known as the Great War, endured from the summer of 1914 until the late fall of
1918. The war was fought between the Allies, which consisted mainly of the United Kingdom, France,
and the Russian Empire, and the Central Powers, which consisted mainly of the German Empire, the
Ottoman Empire, the Austro Hungarian Empire, and the Kingdom of Bulgaria (Alliances Entente and
Central Powers). In total, it is estimated that twelve million civilians and nine million combatants died
during this horrific and devastating war (DeGroot 1). When the war originated in 1914, many people
thought that it would be a war of movement that would rapidly be settled. However, that changed
when the Germans, who were trying to reach and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Soldiers followed a basic routine on normal days. The day began with the stand to in which soldiers
would wake up an hour before dawn and stand on the firing step, rifles in hand, to look out for a
predawn attack by the enemy (Feature Articles Life in the Trenches). Each trench possessed a firing
step, which was placed two to three feet from the trench floor to allow soldiers to peer over the trench
and spot the enemy (Fire Step). Stand to, which is short for stand for arms, occurred because it was
believed that just before dawn, when it was still dark, was the best time to mount an attack (Ellis 38).
Both sides practiced this morning ritual. After stand to and the morning hate, when both sides would
relieve the tension of the morning by firing their machine guns in the air, an unofficial truce was called
by the enemies for about an hour as they prepared and ate breakfast (Ellis 38). After breakfast, rifles
were inspected and daily chores were appointed to the soldiers (Feature Article Life in the Trenches).
Some chores included mending the trench by refilling sandbags, repairing duckboards on the floor,
and pumping water or mud out of the trench after heavy rain falls (Feature Article Life in the
Trenches). After lunch, more chores of the such were completed throughout the day. At dusk, stand to
was again repeated to guard against a surprise enemy

Spirited Away Sociology
Spirited away is a Japanese animated movie based upon Japanese folklore regarding Kamikakushi
(Spirited Away). This particular legend is very ancient, dating back to prehistorical Jomon Japan
around 2,300 years ago; it was derived upon frequent disappearance of children in premodern Japan,
who often reappears several days after in a temple or shrine. It is believed that an infuriated god in the
mountain has abducted, hidden, and enslaved the children.
This folklore was adapted to create a modern fiction, Spirited Away. In this film, the primary
protagonist, Chihiro, ends up being Spirited Away from the real world to the spirit realm. The director
of this film, Miyazaki Hayao, brilliantly denounces many contemporary controversial topics: ... Show

Especially during work hours, the workplace is constantly surveyed by Yubaba s magic. There are also
spies amongst the laborers that report back to Yubaba daily of any misconduct committed by the
laborers.
A far more extreme form of labor control is presented in this film. Yubaba binds the employees under
contract that allows her to take their life away if she finds their work capability unsatisfactory. This is
shown when the boiler man yells at his underling that if they do not work, they will be turned into pile
of ashes. Yubaba is the symbol of bourgeoisie and workers are the symbol of proletariat; this is a
perfect signifier of class based system.
Throughout this film, the girl s struggle from alienation is depicted in detail. Chihiro had to adjust to
the spiritual world s common sense, discrimination, manners, labor market, and others, which
differentiated significantly from the one s she is used to in reality. The bathhouse mainly revolves
around interactive service work and physical labor; women mainly handles the aesthetic labor and
men handles the physical labor. Although Chihiro is a ten years old girl, she was forced to handle hard
physical labor with no assistance or guidance from other employees. The special division of labor was
manifested due to her being the only human in the workplace. Other workers, who were miscellaneous
spirits and supernatural beings, distasted Chihiro for being a

Changes in Bangladesh
Changes in Bangladesh
Bangladesh came to today s shape through a long history of political evolution. Bengal was probably
the wealthiest part of the subcontinent up till the 16th century. The area s early history featured a
succession of Indian empires, internal squabbling, and a tussle between Hinduism and Buddhism for
dominance. All of this was just a prelude to the unstoppable tide of Islam which washed over northern
India at the end of the 12th century. Mohammed Bakhtiar Khalzhi from Turkistan captured Bengal in
1199 with only 20 men. That was just the beginning. The journey of Bangladesh goes on.

Climate Change:
As one of the countries most seriously affected by climate change and natural disasters, Bangladesh
has been forced to be resourceful and resilient. Without outside help, however, the country of 160
million will not have the capacity to address climate related environmental changes as their severity
and frequency increase. The United States should augment its focus on adaptation measures when
providing the South Asian nation with aid.
The repercussions of global warming on Bangladesh are diverse and wide reaching. The
environmental changes that are occurring directly affect all aspects of society. Human health, food
security, industry and energy security, infrastructure, and economic development are all threatened by
climate change. According to the World Bank, 40 percent of foreign aid to Bangladesh is vulnerable to
climate related factors. In a country as densely populated as Bangladesh, even small scale shifts in
ecological systems have a profound humanitarian

Bowlby s Attachment Theory And Attachment
According to Simply Psychology, Bowlby s attachment theory says an individual can have an
attachment with someone that is not shared. Attachment is characterized by behaviors in children such
as seeking proximity with their attachment figure when upset. Bowlby s experiments led him to see
the importance of a child and mother relationship. (Saul McLeod, 2009) With more research later
came four phases of attachment. Phase one is from birth to two months, this stage is where babies seek
comfort, and can attach to anyone. Phase two is from two months to seven months. Babies start to
discriminate between familiar and unfamiliar faces. Also, they can tell between primary and secondary
caregivers. Phase three is seven to 24 months old. This phase is when babies have the knowledge of
who their caregiver is, which causes separation anxiety when the caregiver has to leave. Phase four is
from 24 months and after, which is when the child can reciprocate the relationship. (Maianu, 2015)

feel that I did not get an equal balance of the top and bottom of the circle very well. I would say that
my mom would let me explore but not to the fullest, and my grandma would let me explore as much

Describe how physical and economic factors may have made Bournemouth a crowded coast.
Bournemouth is situated in Dorset in the south of England, boarding the world heritage site, the
Jurassic coast. It is Dorset s largest city and is growing rapidly. Founded in 1810 and in 1851 was just
a small village of 695 people, and in 2001 its population was recorded at 163 600. The council are
expecting around an 11% increase by 2011. Bournemouth is an example of rapid coastalisation.
I believe that the main reason why Bournemouth is an overcrowded coast is because of its physical
factor; it s on the coast, with a 7 mile long, sandy beach. This means potential for stunning beach
views, which has been attracting a lot of retiring people who ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Despite being so popular however, Bournemouth currently has plans of regeneration certain parts such
as the pier; a new spa village and they are also closely focusing on sports and leisure. However despite
the rapid growth of population verging on being a problem I believe that regenerating certain parts,
which are aimed at attracting tourists, is only going to worsen the situation.
There are also economic factors, which are making Bournemouth a crowded coast. There is plenty of
spare land that is available which now has planning permission to be developed on and financial
support is being provided. This land will have houses constructed on, which means there will be an
increase of the amount of people that live in Bournemouth adding to the forever growing population.
However wages are low but this doesn t affect people who live here, as housing is considerably
cheaper then the rest of the UK despite where it s situated. This also means that people can buy more
for their money and a standard 4 bedroom house will be relatively cheaper then if you were to buy one
in Bath for example!
Bournemouth is also attracting the retired who are looking to downsize, but still get good value for
their money. Bed and Breakfasts being set up as small businesses are also becoming increasingly
popular for the older generation, because as houses are cheaper its easier to do so and a small

Disadvantages Of Lingua Franca
A Lingua Franca; the Catalyst of International Debates
The term lingua franca is usually associated with languages; more precisely, any language that is
commonly used by people whose native language differentiates. In order to communicate, a common
language arises a lingua franca that is understood by all ethnic groups.
English is unequivocally the most important lingua franca in the world. There are several reasons as to
why it came to dominate world. The Brits; British imperialism was at it highest point during the 17th
and 20th century, spreading its culture like wildfire. The country oozed of power, taking over country
after country, maybe archipelagos, continents, spreading their ideologies, their parliament and even
their language. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The internet is a wide spectrum of all kinds of languages, but English is the fundamental language
used to communicate across borders. An advantage of having a global language is precisely this;
communication with multitudinous people that you could never communicate with if it wasn t for the
lingua franca.
The internet through a lingua franca uncovered cultures that you may not realise could be unknown if
it wasn t for the lingua franca. American movies, Hollywood, all the different TV series; these gems
could be hidden and unattainable. What about Indian culture, Bollywood or their fantastic food?
Maybe we wouldn t have Indian food in Norway or dance from the Spanish people. Or maybe
scientific research couldn t be traded across borders, resulting in today s technology not being as
advanced and developed as it is.
A global language isn t all sunshine and roses. Increased globalisation could lead to weakening or
eradication of other language. It is estimated that copious minor languages will disappear in the future.
However, it seems that countries with English as a native language is under greater threat of losing
their language or accent to the dominating party: American

Consumer Culture Film Analysis
Marina Souza ICS 392: Consumer Culture Hildebrand 10/29/2016 Assignment #2: Consumer Culture
Film Analysis Wall E In short words, Wall E is the story of a robot who was designed to clean up an
extremely polluted Planet Earth. This animated movie has a much larger meaning than expected it
explains what can happen to our planet if we keep consuming the way we do. As indicated by the
movie, big corporations and greedy consumers destroyed our ecosystem. A planet that was full of
nature, water, fuels, animals and vegetation along with many other things simply vanished because of
a society that consumed too much. It is a pretty scary thought to watch this movie and think about how
we are on a process of doing the exact same thing. With a huge market of major retailers in the world
consuming more than necessary is easier and easier each day. Consumer culture today is thriving but
not necessarily in a good way. As consumer culture thrives, we have desires for products and services.
Consumer spending is a major part of a country s/world s economy and that makes the economy
strong but the aftermath is an unsustainable lifestyle. Although, Wall E didn t indicate exactly what
caused consumers to destroy the planet and then flee for the sake of human survival, there are many
guesses that can be made as to how it happened. One of the major points made in class during week
eight was the fact that the world is becoming overpopulated. This major issue can possibly be

Robert Peel Policing
Sir Robert Peel, known as the father of modern community policing (Lewis, 2011), is credited with
establishing the twelve standards of policing. Referred to as the Peelian Principles, these standards
held that crime could be prevented without heavily intruding into the lives of the citizens (Lewis,
2011).
Peel s first principle of policing involves structuring the departments in such a way to model the
military (Bohm Haley, 2014). To achieve this, police used military type rankings, such as captain,
lieutenant, and sergeant. Officers are also trained like the military, at police academies or other
training facilities. Police agencies should also be under government control according to Peel (Bohm
Haley, 2014). When Peel established his ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Some can also determine what rank some officers are by what badge number they are assigned. For
example, the local sheriff is most times given the badge number 01, as he or she is the highest person
in that chain of command. In Peel s look to reform the departments, he determined that the public
should have easy access to their local police department (Bohm Haley, 2014). These departments are
typically centrally located within a community, or in today s time, centrally located within the county.
Police departments within the cities are located where they can be easily accessed by the community.
As I stated above, police officers are held to a higher standard by the public. Because of this, they
should be held accountable for their actions, whether they be good or bad. To prevent more of the bad
decisions or actions, officers are hired and normally placed on a probationary period, just as Peel
directed (Bohm Haley, 2014). During this time, they receive in school training and on the job training.
Some people are not cut out for this type of job, while others simply determine in that time that they
are not right for the job themselves. This probationary

Theme Of Identity In Beowulf
During the 5th century, resumes were not something that existed. Instead, people were taught to go
around and make themselves appear as the crown and glory of all men. In Beowulf most men,
comparing themselves to God, become rather conceited in their ways and the establishment of true
identity is lost in many. The characters in this story, ranging from Beowulf himself, to monsters, to
Kingsman, have to deal with certain situations where they defend themselves and show their true
colors to their surrounding peers. The epic of Beowulf emphasizes the importance of one s identity
through their family s blood line and finding one s place in a society.
In Act 1, the Danes are put into a trail of trying to defeat a terrifying demon named Grendel, who is
terrorizing the kingdom. After finding out about this demon and the monstrous crimes he has
committed, Beowulf sets out for Denmark with his group of men, to find and defeat him. Once
arriving to the kingdom, the Danish King, Hrothgar, welcomes Beowulf with loving arms as if he was
welcoming his own son back home. Hrothgar knew of Beowulf partly because of his past of victories,
but also through his uncle. Hrothgar had had many memories with Beowulf s extended family and in
Hrothgar s eyes, this made Beowulf extremely worthy of love and admiration. Family ties and
connections were highly valued in these time periods. When Beowulf comes into the great hall
Hrothgar answered, I remember him when he was young. His father was

How Did The Simpsons Impact On Family Values
The Simpsons Impact on Family Values
The Simpsons first came to life on April 19th, 1987. It was aired as a filler in the commercial breaks
of The Tracey Ullman Show and was animated in 30 second mini episodes. Matt Groening, the proud
producer and creator of The Simpsons, made these 30 second episodes after being recognized for his
life is hell comic strip and asked by a fan, Pauly Platt, if he would be interested in coming up with
ideas for an animation. Groening ceased the opportunity and now, 18 years on The Simpsons have

The Simpsons are also so well loved because they have no specific target audience; they have such a
wide variety of humour, from slapstick to academic references, which is sure to have all age groups,
male or female, in stitches.
Family values are basically social norms for describing a family and the proper roles of its members.
Most often, the term connotes a conservative ideology that supports sexual morality and traditional
gender roles, and that opposes homosexual relationships, same sex marriage, and abortion. The term
may also refer to endorsing censorship of phenomena in the media (such as many forms of nudity,
profanity, sexuality, and violence) which children might view en.Wikipedia.org.
Many people feel The Simpsons promote family values because basically every bizarre event that has
happened in every episode has been as a result of 1or more member/s of the family trying to please the
rest of the family. This is evident in Blue collar slob in which homer becomes an astronaut. He does
this because he feels he has lost the respect of his family and friends, and assumes that astronauts
receive great respect. Although this episode can be interpreted as simple comedy, putting a blue collar
slob in outer space, there are also underlying messages that highlight the love that keeps the Simpson
family together. It connotes that respect must be in a family

The Legalization Of All Drugs
The legalization of all drugs considered illegal in the United States today would do more than any
other act to eradicate current social and political problems. Though many would naturally think
otherwise, legalizing drugs like marijuana, ecstasy, meth, cocaine, heroin, mushrooms, LSD, and
DMT would cripple organized crime, majorly reduce death and injury from drug use, unclog the court
system, and make these drugs much safer to use.
Contrary to popular belief, the legalization of all drugs would make the streets a much safer place.
Addicts must pay hundreds of times the actual cost of production because of the risk dealers and
manufacturers have in production and distribution, so they often need to resort to crime to pay for
their addiction. If drugs were legalized, the price would greatly reduce and addicts won t have to
commit crime to support their habit. Some addicts don t make enough money to purchase their
expensive fix, and feel they have no other choice but to break the law. If dugs were legalized and
regulated, the price would go down drastically because there would be no more risk involved. A few
grams of cocaine could be as easy to obtain and as affordable as a pack of cigarettes. Addicts would no
longer need to commit crime to obtain their drugs. Some would say though, that drug related offences
would still exist. For example, if drugs were legal for anyone over 21, there would be a demand for
those younger, and drug related crime would still exist. Is this not

Describe two different forms or methods of Intelligence...
The concept of Open Source intelligence (OSINT) has been placed in too high regard within the
intelligence community and to the detriment of the value of other forms of collection, such as Signals
Intelligence (SIGINT). While useful in the Analysis function of the intelligence cycle, OSINT, as it
has become known, is not and should never be the only form of intelligence collected. In order to be
of use in achieving a comparative advantage for decision makers, OSINT must be combined with
covert sources like SIGINT. Effective collection of OSINT enables prioritized and efficient SIGINT

OSINT is not a new concept. Rathmell and Valeri state that Intelligence Agencies have always used
foreign newspapers, academic consultants and debriefings from international travellers. According to
Hulnick, OSINT makes up 70 80% or more of the United States Intelligence Database. Flood confirms
that this is the case in Australia and with the ONA. With the development of computing technology,
the creation of the Internet and the ease in which anyone can publish information, Hulnick informs
that the problem is not where the intelligence is, but rather the ability of analysts to sort through it .
While he continues to say that credible intelligence product can be developed from OSINT alone,
Treverton takes this point to its logical conclusion. He predicts that analysts will have to compete with
CNN, academics, and private organizations like Jane s or STRATFOR in providing their product. If
this is the case, then what separates intelligence collection from researchers of opinion pieces or
journal articles?
The separation is that other forms of intelligence collection are conducted without the authority of the
government or group who owns the information . The value that other intelligence collected can
provide to analysis cannot be overstated. In the case of the Echelon system, to which Australia
contributes, SIGINT

My Favorite Holiday Is Christmas
In my birth story there is nothing really to it unless you count me just being born. I asked my mom,
but, she said nothing really happened. But, one thing that she said was that she was craving some
foods like burgers and red cream soda and some other stuff. But after months and months I was
delivered at Good Samaritan Hospital and weighed 7lbs 12.8oz. She always had a name in mind for
me, and it was Jackson because, she loved the name and it meant God has been Gracious. Do you
know your favorite holiday because I know mine. Mine is Christmas because that s when you get
presents and celebrate the life of Jesus. But it only happens once a year, which sucks. But, another
good thing is we get 2 weeks off of school for it. And maybe some snow days around that time too.
One other reason is I like to spend time with my family. My family gets a live tree every year and the
tree fills the house with the smell of it. But Christmas is not my only favorite thing I also like a sport
too. And it is soccer. My main reason I like it is because it has a lot of sprinting. Also, I like to move
stuff with my feet. I also like to watch the sport to see how I could get better. I think I m good at
soccer because many people have told me I am really good. On weekends when I have a lot of games I
like it because I get to play the whole game. When I get to high school, I will enjoy playing soccer for
the high school. The reason I like to use my feet is because I have good coordination skills.

The American Dream In Michael Jackson s The Man In The Mirror
Michael Jackson is known as the King of Pop and during his time he created multiple songs that hold
deep meanings and positively promoted what individuals morality should be composed of. One of
Jackson s world renowned pieces was a song called The Man In The Mirror , which represents change
and making a difference. When you hear about an artist having a new music video out one would
assume that they would be in the video, but in Jackson s video this is not the case. In The Man In The
Mirror Jackson has all types of individuals besides himself shown, which is an unusual approach
seeing that music videos are usually the artist time to take expressing themselves a step further.

It is still the dream for most today to be able to live The American Dream , but at the time this video
was produced it shows that many people were not able to live that dream because of the many things
they faced. Many individuals encountered obstacles such as poverty or even segregation and that is
displayed in this video by each clip correlating with the line of the song and the message it is trying to
put forth. In the video Jacksons says Who am I to be blind? Pretending not to see their needs. and
while this is said clips of protest, motivational speakers and countries in need of help are displayed.
By saying this line and showing these clips at the same time Jackson is trying to imply that everyone
acts as if they do not see what needs to be fix in the world. By everyone pretending as if ignoring the
wrong is the right thing to do they are blinded that this is not the correct approach nor is it the right
thing to do. Within the different clips Jackson has in his video he shows that certain people and groups
may believe that they are the only individuals entitled to possessing The American Dream when that is
not true. The American Dream is not just for certain people it is for everyone and most of his lines can
be connected to that. Jackson shows people who need help and people who are helping, but
contradicts this with people who want change and equality and show the people who want to keep
everything unequal. With Jackson doing this he shows the people who have looked in the mirror
versus the ones who didn t. Currently people are still encountering all of these things from unequal
treatment to being in need of help and more people have put forth efforts and helping them conquer
life and work towards them living their dream. Thus, The American Dream correlates with The Man

Is The Fortunes And Misfortunes Of Moll Flanders
Daniel Defoe s picaresque novel Moll Flanders saw the light of the day in 1722. Of course,
meticulously speaking, it cannot be called a novel in the strictest sense of the term. The credit of being
the first proper novel goes to Richardson s Pamela which was published a couple of decades later in
1740. Moll Flanders is somewhat deficient in psychological exploration and reads more like a
narrative. Hence it would be better to call it a rudimentary novel. However, the objective of this paper
is not to debate or discuss the qualities of a novel found in Moll Flanders. The objective is to delineate
how Defoe s heroine Moll with her own effort trudges through thick and thin to make the most of a
hopeless life. For all her shortcomings, she ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Multilingualism In Canada
In between the countries of Germany and France lies Switzerland, a diverse country with a rich
history. Part of this rich history contributes to the multilingualism of this nation state. Switzerland has
four official languages; German, French, Italian and Romansh. All of these languages, with the
exception of Romansh, hold equal value in the federal government. A reported 63.9% of the Swiss
population speaks German as their main language, 22.5 percent speak mainly French, 8.1 percent use
mainly Italian, and .5 percent speak Romansh as their most used language based on a 2013 census. In

Miracles Throughout The Gospel Of Mark
Throughout the gospel of Mark, Jesus preforms miraculous miracles with the help of faith in God.
Jesus s miracles consist of healings, exorcism, feeding/ providing source of hydration, and power over
natural elements(1). Those who don t follow Christianity most likely don t understand the purpose of
these miracles. They might understand that the miracles are good but probably not the symbolism of
each miracle. Miracles are meant to help Christians grow stronger in their faith and understand the
ways of Jesus Christ. It is simply impossible to look at it miracle performed by Jesus and believe that
it was completely pointless with no meaning to it. The greatest example of this is the miracle of

Research Design This study looks to examine the impact of parental involvement on student
motivation and academic achievement while focusing on urban communities. A mixed methods
research design will be conducted in order to explain, clarify, and extend results discovered through
the use of (Mertler 2016) a longitudinal survey design, specifically a trend study. Since both
quantitative and qualitative data will be collected on the same survey, the type of mixed methods
research being conducted will be a convergent parallel design. The trend study will be used to

Parents or guardians will receive their surveys by mail and students will be asked to return their parent
or guardian s survey to their homeroom teacher.
Sampling
Sampling will be conducted by using the sampling procedure known as cluster random sampling. In
simple random sampling, the sampling unit is an individual; however, in cluster random sampling, the
sampling unit is an existing group of individuals. (Mertler 2016). For this study the sampling unit is
the school buildings that were randomly selected from the data criteria of a public, non specialty,
Hartford elementary school. Of the schools randomly selected every student in grades 1 to 5 and every
selected student s parent or guardian will be surveyed. Approximately 2,000 students will be given the
survey varying based on attendance that day. Therefor, approximately 2,000 parent or guardians will
also receive a survey. A larger sampling population allows results to be generalized to the larger
population. (Mertler 2016). When conducting survey research, it is advisable to survey a minimum of
350 individuals. (Mertler 2016). By surveying a larger population, I can account for the lower
response rate that is typically associated with mail surveys. (Mertler 2016).

six surveys will be conducted

Examples Of Intolerance In To Kill A Mockingbird
Why do the people of Maycomb have intolerance of each other? Because they do not accept people
that aren t like them. If they see someone in their town who isn t a stereotypical person, they do not
tolerate them. In the novel, To Kill a Mockingbird, by Harper Lee, the characters judge each other for
not doing everything like they would like them to. Throughout the novel, the people of Maycomb
showed that they grew up around not tolerating each other, which shows how it is not right to be
prejudice against people that they do not even really know. The people of Maycomb have passed their
intolerance of each other on from generation to generation. They judge each other on how they dress.

The Nervous Systems ( Cns ) And The Peripheral Nervous System
The nervous system is the part of the human body in charge of coordinating the reception of external
stimuli and the response the body gives to them. It is equipped with sense organs called receptors,
which are in charge of transforming the stimuli s energy into nerve impulses [1]. To emit an external
response, the nervous system uses effectors that can be either muscles or glands.
We can divide the nervous system into two separate systems: the central nervous system (CNS) and
the peripheral nervous system (PNS). The CNS consists of the brain and the spinal cord and is
protected by the cranium and the vertebral column, respectively. The PNS is in charge of connecting
the CNS with the receptors and the effectors. To transfer the information from one part of the body to
another, a specialized type of cells called neurons is used.
Neurons are in charge of a communicative function. They perform two different types of activities.
The first one consists in helping the conduction of a signal from one part of the cell to another. The
second activity they perform is synaptic transmission, which means communication between adjacent
cells.

Neurons are composed of a cell body called soma, dendrites and axon. There is a single axon while
there are multiple dendrites per each neuron. Dendrites are used to conduct the received signals to cell

Self-Identity And Self Identity
Self identity is molded as a young age, but continues to change as we get older. This is something that
we all do not realize. During a person s lifetime many of us pause to think what influence a person s
identity. What makes us the individual that we are? I would say that it is our home, where we live with
our parents and siblings. Why do we have trust in certain things? Why do we believe the way we do? I
would say it is based on the way we were taught and raised a set of opinions that have been instilled in
a person since they were young. I would say that their three great influences in my life that makes me
who I am today my parents, my religion and my culture. Upbringing it has molded me into who I am
today. Since I was growing up my parents taught me about showing respect to everyone especially our
superiors. My parents always taught us that being a good citizen in your community always identifies
the individual as a good person. My parents taught us that when two adults are having a conversation
to never interrupt. When someone was talking and if you needed to walk through you would say
excuse me. Never stealing what does not belong to you. Helping a person out when they do not have a
place to stay. How to have patience with other people and learning that sometimes the best thing to do
is just to be quiet. An example I can say that I went through as I was growing up I was 10 years old
when we had several family members move in to live with us and this is where

Why Does A Teacher Need Be A Good Manager
Why does a teacher need to be a good manager ? A teacher needs to be a good manager to ensure
learning occurs. Without good management skills, learning may not be achieved and the classroom
could fall into chaos. To be a good manager in a classroom the teacher needs several tools. These shall
be explored below. The classroom is its own ecosystem. The features of this ecosystem revolve around
creating a positive atmosphere for learning (Karnovsky, 2015). However, this does not occur
overnight, it takes time and energy from the teacher and the students to develop this atmosphere. One
method to achieve this, is a student behavioral agreement. This consists of four core concepts; student
s rights and responsibilities, classroom ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This agreement which helps create the classroom ecosystem, is also a strategy in preventing
problematic behavior. However, there are many more strategies which can be used in different parts of
the lesson to minimize and prevent misbehavior. According to Rudolf Dreikurs (Crandall, 2012), there
are four goals of misbehavior. These are; attention, power, revenge and assumed disability. To prevent
this from occurring the teacher must create a classroom with a sense of belonging, cohesive bonding
and appropriate instructional skills. However, doing this does not ensure that they will behave, it is
better to assume that all students will misbehave at some point if given the chance. When students do
misbehave, teachers can employ the Bumps Model to react appropriately to the level of misbehavior.
The Bumps Model is comprised of 10 levels. The bump is the student s escalation. It is important that
the teacher can distinguish between what is effective and ineffective to select the best method
(Bennett, 1994). At Bump level one the teacher is responding to students when they first cause a
disruption, the teacher s response will be low key, e.g.; proximity, the look, and saying the student s
name. This follows Kounin (1970) slowdowns, in which the teacher keeps flowing through the
material and not letting a small misbehavior get in the way of the teaching. The teacher s response

Martin Scoorsese s Influence On American Culture

over the past six decades. His work is dark, gritty, real, and sometimes misinterpreted, which lead to a

Scorsese wrote one of the most iconic movies in American history, Goodfellas . Goodfellas went on to
triumph. It won widespread critical acclaim, success at the box office and earned six Oscar
nominations. Twenty five years later, its recognition as a classic is near universal. Goodfellas didn t
just look authentic. For those who d led the Mafia life it had a definite sense of the real thing. Twenty
five years on, Goodfellas is more than just special, it s viewed as a real masterpiece, among the best
pictures of the 1990s and possibly the best movie Martin Scorsese has ever made (Tom Brook 2015).
Goodfellas has the same dark heart, understanding that even as the audience watches on with horror,
there s some tiny part of them that has completely surrendered to the madness and the fun. That was
Goodfellas s original genius and, even in retrospect, it seems impossible to equal (David Sims 2015).
Goodfellas changed the way we viewed gangsters and the mafia. His screenwriting has told fantastic
stories over the years. In addition to writing Goodfellas , he wrote Mean Streets , The Age of

We went on many more camping trips; but never forgot the where my plans were not so complete.
Checklists are good.
It was in the summer of 1999 when my family decided to take a camping trip to Colorado. I was a
typical 15 year old high school student, which meant family vacations were lame in my eyes.
We left Kansas City after school one Friday and made our way through the very flat, very
uninteresting state of Kansas. I slept the majority of the drive out to the great land of Colorado. For the
first night of our stay, Dad rented a hotel room since it was dark and too hard to see to pitch the tent.
The next day, we woke up early and left the hotel to enjoy the scenery. We spent a long day hiking
through the mountains, marveling over the work of years and years millennia even to carve out the
intricate patterns and formations of the canyons. As we grew tired and hungry, we decided to find a
camp site and set up camp for the night.
We found a site at the foothills of Pike s Peak. There were pine trees everywhere. The woman from the
Pine Sol commercial would have considered it her personal heaven. The sky had been relatively clear
all day with only a fluffy cloud or two. However, just as we began unpacking the car, the sky darkened

  • 2. Example Of Ambush Marketing What is the definition of the term Ambush marketing ? In his book Ambush marketing in sports Gerd stated that the verb to ambush is identified as to attack. Thus the sponsors consider ambush marketing as acts and illegal thefts. Moreover, according to Meenaghan, in his opinion this act is a practice of a competitor that interferes with the attention of the audience near a specific event and distracts the people s attention from the sponsor. 1, 2 Being a type of guerrilla marketing, Linda Norcross in her article in Street Smith s SportsBusiness Journam, identified ambush marketing as the marketing campaign that takes place during the organization of a big event while trying to escape from paying any costs in terms of sponsoring that specific event. The war was fought between the Allies, which consisted mainly of the United Kingdom, France, and the Russian Empire, and the Central Powers, which consisted mainly of the German Empire, the Ottoman Empire, the Austro Hungarian Empire, and the Kingdom of Bulgaria (Alliances Entente and Central Powers). In total, it is estimated that twelve million civilians and nine million combatants died during this horrific and devastating war (DeGroot 1). When the war originated in 1914, many people thought that it would be a war of movement that would rapidly be settled. However, that changed when the Germans, who were trying to reach and ... The day began with the stand to in which soldiers would wake up an hour before dawn and stand on the firing step, rifles in hand, to look out for a predawn attack by the enemy (Feature Articles Life in the Trenches). Each trench possessed a firing step, which was placed two to three feet from the trench floor to allow soldiers to peer over the trench and spot the enemy (Fire Step). Stand to, which is short for stand for arms, occurred because it was believed that just before dawn, when it was still dark, was the best time to mount an attack (Ellis 38). Both sides practiced this morning ritual. After stand to and the morning hate, when both sides would relieve the tension of the morning by firing their machine guns in the air, an unofficial truce was called by the enemies for about an hour as they prepared and ate breakfast (Ellis 38). After breakfast, rifles were inspected and daily chores were appointed to the soldiers (Feature Article Life in the Trenches). Some chores included mending the trench by refilling sandbags, repairing duckboards on the floor, and pumping water or mud out of the trench after heavy rain falls (Feature Article Life in the Trenches). • 4. Spirited Away Sociology Spirited away is a Japanese animated movie based upon Japanese folklore regarding Kamikakushi (Spirited Away). This particular legend is very ancient, dating back to prehistorical Jomon Japan around 2,300 years ago; it was derived upon frequent disappearance of children in premodern Japan, who often reappears several days after in a temple or shrine. It is believed that an infuriated god in the mountain has abducted, hidden, and enslaved the children. This folklore was adapted to create a modern fiction, Spirited Away. In this film, the primary protagonist, Chihiro, ends up being Spirited Away from the real world to the spirit realm. Especially during work hours, the workplace is constantly surveyed by Yubaba s magic. There are also spies amongst the laborers that report back to Yubaba daily of any misconduct committed by the laborers. A far more extreme form of labor control is presented in this film. Yubaba binds the employees under contract that allows her to take their life away if she finds their work capability unsatisfactory. This is shown when the boiler man yells at his underling that if they do not work, they will be turned into pile of ashes. Yubaba is the symbol of bourgeoisie and workers are the symbol of proletariat; this is a perfect signifier of class based system. Throughout this film, the girl s struggle from alienation is depicted in detail. Chihiro had to adjust to the spiritual world s common sense, discrimination, manners, labor market, and others, which differentiated significantly from the one s she is used to in reality. The bathhouse mainly revolves around interactive service work and physical labor; women mainly handles the aesthetic labor and men handles the physical labor. Although Chihiro is a ten years old girl, she was forced to handle hard physical labor with no assistance or guidance from other employees. The special division of labor was manifested due to her being the only human in the workplace. Other workers, who were miscellaneous spirits and supernatural beings, distasted Chihiro for being a ... Bengal was probably the wealthiest part of the subcontinent up till the 16th century. The area s early history featured a succession of Indian empires, internal squabbling, and a tussle between Hinduism and Buddhism for dominance. All of this was just a prelude to the unstoppable tide of Islam which washed over northern India at the end of the 12th century. Mohammed Bakhtiar Khalzhi from Turkistan captured Bengal in 1199 with only 20 men. That was just the beginning. The journey of Bangladesh goes on. Attachment is characterized by behaviors in children such as seeking proximity with their attachment figure when upset. Bowlby s experiments led him to see the importance of a child and mother relationship. (Saul McLeod, 2009) With more research later came four phases of attachment. Phase one is from birth to two months, this stage is where babies seek comfort, and can attach to anyone. Phase two is from two months to seven months. Babies start to discriminate between familiar and unfamiliar faces. Also, they can tell between primary and secondary caregivers. Phase three is seven to 24 months old. This phase is when babies have the knowledge of who their caregiver is, which causes separation anxiety when the caregiver has to leave. Phase four is from 24 months and after, which is when the child can reciprocate the relationship. (Maianu, 2015) Growing up I spent most of my time with my mom, and grandma. Since my mom was a single mom I feel that I did not get an equal balance of the top and bottom of the circle very well. I would say that my mom would let me explore but not to the fullest, and my grandma would let me explore as much as I wanted. Bournemouth is situated in Dorset in the south of England, boarding the world heritage site, the Jurassic coast. It is Dorset s largest city and is growing rapidly. Bournemouth is an example of rapid coastalisation. There are also economic factors, which are making Bournemouth a crowded coast. There is plenty of spare land that is available which now has planning permission to be developed on and financial support is being provided. This land will have houses constructed on, which means there will be an increase of the amount of people that live in Bournemouth adding to the forever growing population. However wages are low but this doesn t affect people who live here, as housing is considerably cheaper then the rest of the UK despite where it s situated. This also means that people can buy more for their money and a standard 4 bedroom house will be relatively cheaper then if you were to buy one in Bath for example! • 9. Consumer Culture Film Analysis Marina Souza ICS 392: Consumer Culture Hildebrand 10/29/2016 Assignment #2: Consumer Culture Film Analysis Wall E In short words, Wall E is the story of a robot who was designed to clean up an extremely polluted Planet Earth. This animated movie has a much larger meaning than expected it explains what can happen to our planet if we keep consuming the way we do. As indicated by the movie, big corporations and greedy consumers destroyed our ecosystem. A planet that was full of nature, water, fuels, animals and vegetation along with many other things simply vanished because of a society that consumed too much. It is a pretty scary thought to watch this movie and think about how we are on a process of doing the exact same thing. With a huge market of major retailers in the world consuming more than necessary is easier and easier each day. Consumer culture today is thriving but not necessarily in a good way. As consumer culture thrives, we have desires for products and services. Consumer spending is a major part of a country s/world s economy and that makes the economy strong but the aftermath is an unsustainable lifestyle. Although, Wall E didn t indicate exactly what caused consumers to destroy the planet and then flee for the sake of human survival, there are many guesses that can be made as to how it happened. One of the major points made in class during week eight was the fact that the world is becoming overpopulated. This major issue can possibly be ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 10. Robert Peel Policing Sir Robert Peel, known as the father of modern community policing (Lewis, 2011), is credited with establishing the twelve standards of policing. Referred to as the Peelian Principles, these standards held that crime could be prevented without heavily intruding into the lives of the citizens (Lewis, 2011). Peel s first principle of policing involves structuring the departments in such a way to model the military (Bohm Haley, 2014). To achieve this, police used military type rankings, such as captain, lieutenant, and sergeant. Officers are also trained like the military, at police academies or other training facilities. Police agencies should also be under government control according to Peel (Bohm Haley, 2014). When Peel established his ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Some can also determine what rank some officers are by what badge number they are assigned. For example, the local sheriff is most times given the badge number 01, as he or she is the highest person in that chain of command. These departments are typically centrally located within a community, or in today s time, centrally located within the county. Police departments within the cities are located where they can be easily accessed by the community. As I stated above, police officers are held to a higher standard by the public. Because of this, they should be held accountable for their actions, whether they be good or bad. To prevent more of the bad decisions or actions, officers are hired and normally placed on a probationary period, just as Peel directed (Bohm Haley, 2014). • 11. Theme Of Identity In Beowulf During the 5th century, resumes were not something that existed. Instead, people were taught to go around and make themselves appear as the crown and glory of all men. In Beowulf most men, comparing themselves to God, become rather conceited in their ways and the establishment of true identity is lost in many. The characters in this story, ranging from Beowulf himself, to monsters, to Kingsman, have to deal with certain situations where they defend themselves and show their true colors to their surrounding peers. The epic of Beowulf emphasizes the importance of one s identity through their family s blood line and finding one s place in a society. In Act 1, the Danes are put into a trail of trying to defeat a terrifying demon named Grendel, who is terrorizing the kingdom. After finding out about this demon and the monstrous crimes he has committed, Beowulf sets out for Denmark with his group of men, to find and defeat him. Once arriving to the kingdom, the Danish King, Hrothgar, welcomes Beowulf with loving arms as if he was welcoming his own son back home. Hrothgar knew of Beowulf partly because of his past of victories, but also through his uncle. Hrothgar had had many memories with Beowulf s extended family and in Hrothgar s eyes, this made Beowulf extremely worthy of love and admiration. Family ties and connections were highly valued in these time periods. When Beowulf comes into the great hall Hrothgar answered, I remember him when he was young. His father was ... The Simpsons are also so well loved because they have no specific target audience; they have such a wide variety of humour, from slapstick to academic references, which is sure to have all age groups, male or female, in stitches. Family values are basically social norms for describing a family and the proper roles of its members. Most often, the term connotes a conservative ideology that supports sexual morality and traditional gender roles, and that opposes homosexual relationships, same sex marriage, and abortion. The term may also refer to endorsing censorship of phenomena in the media (such as many forms of nudity, profanity, sexuality, and violence) which children might view en.Wikipedia.org. This is evident in Blue collar slob in which homer becomes an astronaut. He does this because he feels he has lost the respect of his family and friends, and assumes that astronauts receive great respect. • 13. The Legalization Of All Drugs The legalization of all drugs considered illegal in the United States today would do more than any other act to eradicate current social and political problems. Though many would naturally think otherwise, legalizing drugs like marijuana, ecstasy, meth, cocaine, heroin, mushrooms, LSD, and DMT would cripple organized crime, majorly reduce death and injury from drug use, unclog the court system, and make these drugs much safer to use. Contrary to popular belief, the legalization of all drugs would make the streets a much safer place. Addicts must pay hundreds of times the actual cost of production because of the risk dealers and manufacturers have in production and distribution, so they often need to resort to crime to pay for their addiction. If drugs were legalized, the price would greatly reduce and addicts won t have to commit crime to support their habit. Some addicts don t make enough money to purchase their expensive fix, and feel they have no other choice but to break the law. If dugs were legalized and regulated, the price would go down drastically because there would be no more risk involved. A few grams of cocaine could be as easy to obtain and as affordable as a pack of cigarettes. Addicts would no longer need to commit crime to obtain their drugs. Some would say though, that drug related offences would still exist. Many individuals encountered obstacles such as poverty or even segregation and that is displayed in this video by each clip correlating with the line of the song and the message it is trying to put forth. In the video Jacksons says Who am I to be blind? Pretending not to see their needs. and while this is said clips of protest, motivational speakers and countries in need of help are displayed. By saying this line and showing these clips at the same time Jackson is trying to imply that everyone acts as if they do not see what needs to be fix in the world. By everyone pretending as if ignoring the wrong is the right thing to do they are blinded that this is not the correct approach nor is it the right thing to do. Within the different clips Jackson has in his video he shows that certain people and groups may believe that they are the only individuals entitled to possessing The American Dream when that is not true. The American Dream is not just for certain people it is for everyone and most of his lines can be connected to that. Jackson shows people who need help and people who are helping, but contradicts this with people who want change and equality and show the people who want to keep everything unequal. With Jackson doing this he shows the people who have looked in the mirror versus the ones who didn t. Currently people are still encountering all of these things from unequal treatment to being in need of help and more people have put forth efforts and helping them conquer life and work towards them living their dream. • 18. Is The Fortunes And Misfortunes Of Moll Flanders Daniel Defoe s picaresque novel Moll Flanders saw the light of the day in 1722. Of course, meticulously speaking, it cannot be called a novel in the strictest sense of the term. The credit of being the first proper novel goes to Richardson s Pamela which was published a couple of decades later in 1740. Moll Flanders is somewhat deficient in psychological exploration and reads more like a narrative. Hence it would be better to call it a rudimentary novel. However, the objective of this paper is not to debate or discuss the qualities of a novel found in Moll Flanders. The objective is to delineate how Defoe s heroine Moll with her own effort trudges through thick and thin to make the most of a hopeless life. For all her shortcomings, she ... • 27. The Nervous Systems ( Cns ) And The Peripheral Nervous System The nervous system is the part of the human body in charge of coordinating the reception of external stimuli and the response the body gives to them. It is equipped with sense organs called receptors, which are in charge of transforming the stimuli s energy into nerve impulses [1]. To emit an external response, the nervous system uses effectors that can be either muscles or glands. We can divide the nervous system into two separate systems: the central nervous system (CNS) and the peripheral nervous system (PNS). The CNS consists of the brain and the spinal cord and is protected by the cranium and the vertebral column, respectively. The PNS is in charge of connecting the CNS with the receptors and the effectors. To transfer the information from one part of the body to another, a specialized type of cells called neurons is used. Neurons are in charge of a communicative function. They perform two different types of activities. The first one consists in helping the conduction of a signal from one part of the cell to another. The second activity they perform is synaptic transmission, which means communication between adjacent cells. Figure 1.1 Neuron structure. Without good management skills, learning may not be achieved and the classroom could fall into chaos. To be a good manager in a classroom the teacher needs several tools. These shall be explored below. The classroom is its own ecosystem. The features of this ecosystem revolve around creating a positive atmosphere for learning (Karnovsky, 2015). This agreement which helps create the classroom ecosystem, is also a strategy in preventing problematic behavior. However, there are many more strategies which can be used in different parts of the lesson to minimize and prevent misbehavior. According to Rudolf Dreikurs (Crandall, 2012), there are four goals of misbehavior. These are; attention, power, revenge and assumed disability. To prevent this from occurring the teacher must create a classroom with a sense of belonging, cohesive bonding and appropriate instructional skills. However, doing this does not ensure that they will behave, it is better to assume that all students will misbehave at some point if given the chance. When students do misbehave, teachers can employ the Bumps Model to react appropriately to the level of misbehavior. The Bumps Model is comprised of 10 levels. The bump is the student s escalation. It is important that the teacher can distinguish between what is effective and ineffective to select the best method (Bennett, 1994). At Bump level one the teacher is responding to students when they first cause a disruption, the teacher s response will be low key, e.g.; proximity, the look, and saying the student s name.
