Four Aphorism Analysis
Every person capable of thinking and processing has a different set of guidelines and mindsets for his
or her life. These guidelines tend to be words or mottos designed to help guide each individual
through life and/or hardship that may arise. In the short time i ve had in this world, i ve been able to
narrow my thoughts down to four basic principles. One: I believe i am here to learn about and
experience everything this life has to offer. Two: It is important to approach new information openly,
but with some skepticism. Not every piece of information presented to me will be true. Three: harm no
one; there is no reason is good enough to cause suffering of any kind. Four: Remember both the
unimportance and significance of every action i make. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is a reminder I like to call Comforting Nihilism. Nihilism is believe that meaningless, but there is
another less dreary way to regard it that i find reassuring. Essentially, it is the idea that nothing
matters, so life is limitless. Gandhi sums this up by saying, almost everything you do in life will be
insignificant. But it is very important that you do it. In comparison to the infinity of stars and space
forever expanding in every direction, I am very small. This also means I am small enough that
universe does not hinge on my decisions. I can eat an entire cake, or fail a test, or move to Canada, or
rob a bank. The world will not end if I do something that makes me happy, or make a mistake. At
same time, there is so much I could change so much in my own life. Eating a cake, moving to Canada,
robbing a bank, failing a test. All of these actions could affect my life in a monumental way, and at the
same time, they are completely meaningless. Everyone is both an insignificant speck, a blink in the
history of the universe, and a great powerful being, capable of changing everything with one

An Analysis Of Stone, Patton, And Sheila
Stone, Patton, and Sheila, in their book Difficult Conversations, explain that any conversation consists
of three simultaneous conversations the What Happened? , Feelings, and Identity Conversations. The
Flint Water Crisis is an example of a difficult conversation, a conflict with several difficult
conversations happening all at once: conversations between Flint s residents and government officials,
between different government agencies, and among residents organizing resistance and advocacy.
Each conversation contains all the three conversations described by Stone et al. The What Happened
Conversation is based on perception and deals with three assumptions: truth, intentions, and blame.
The conflict arises on a disagreement of what ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The unconscious interpretation of conflict is the underlying concept of the What Happened
Conversation. Most difficult conversations involve disagreement about what has happened or what
should happen (Stone, Patton, Sheila, 2010, p.7); this is based on the individual s perception of what
has happened. Loosely translated, this concept refers to Lewicki, Barry, Sander s analysis of cognitive
bias Ignoring Other s Cognitions theme. In the What Happened Conversation we focus on our own
perception and ignore other s cognitions, which allows negotiators to simplify their thinking about
otherwise complex processes; ... and causes a failure to recognize the contingent nature of both sides
behaviors and responses (Lewicki, Barry, Sanders, 2015, p. 156).
Interactions between people most often rely on truth assumptions that I am right. But the truth for each
person differs since it depends on the individual s interpretation of the situation. Therefore, rightness
is based not on the ultimate truth but on conflicting perceptions, interpretations, and values (Stone et
al., 2010). Perception and cognition is based on one s own beliefs, stereotyping, and prejudices. All
parties involved in the Flint water crisis are influenced by their belief system which unconsciously led
to the interpretation of events and

The Natural Language Processing ( Nlp )
INTRODUCTION Natural Language Processing (NLP): NLP is a process in which human makes
communication with machine easily. NLP is related to area of human and computer interaction. There
are many application developed last few years. The very helpful application is that a machine take
instruction by human voice and follow operation on it. NLP are trying to make computer more reliable
that are easier to use by people. So rather than learn a special language of computer command, people
will talk with computer in their own language. 1.1 MAJOR TASK IN NLP [b]: 1.1.1 Automatic
Summarization [b]: It work as the summary of a chunk of text. Like, article in political section in
newspaper. 1.1.2: Machine translation [b]: Automatically translate language from one human to
another human. 1.1.4 Optical Character Recognition [b]: Optical Character Recognition is a process
mechanical or electronic conversion of scanned or photographic image of typewritten or printed text
into machine encode or computer readable text. 1.1.4 Speech recognition [b]: In speech recognition
take a sound clip of the person and determine the textual representation of speech. 1.1.5 Speech
segmentation [b]: In speech segmentation take a sound clip on the person and separate into words.
1.1.6 Word segmentation [b]: Word segmentation takes the chunk of continuous text and separate
words. 1.2 APPLICATION OF NLP [b]: Classify text into categories Index and search large text

Summary Of Carolyn Kizer s Bitch
Arguably, poetry could be considered one of the biggest mediums artists use to express themselves to
an audience. Everyday, radio stations play hundreds of poems to listeners who feel direct connections
to what they hear. A great poet can write a piece, while never having met it s reader, that poem will
leave the reader feeling as if it were written for them. Pulitzer Prize Winner Carolyn Kizer, wrote
poems that connected with millions of women during the 1960 s, 70 s and 80 s. During a time, when
women were not to be taken seriously, she was considered one of the first feminists and spread her
messages to readers from all walks of life. One piece Kizer wrote late in her career entitled, Bitch ,
describes a person s feelings towards an ex lover as they run into each other years later. If Kizer was
attempting to give readers a deeper understanding on the inner struggles that a female faces during her
interpersonal relationship with a former partner, then I think she has succeeded. The poems point of
view has readers following the inner thoughts of a woman as well as her ... Show more content on

When they first encounter one another inside the woman is still angry and hurt shown by the line I say
to the bitch inside me, don t start growling (Kizer 2), yet externally the woman only conveys a calm
and kind manner by speaking to her ex lover with the line Nice to see you . (Kizer 5) I think these two
lines are spot on because when one runs into an ex years later internal instinct will have them relive
moments in the past and why it didn t work or what left them hurt. Yet, at the same time said person
would never want to show an ex that they haven t moved on, rather they would want to show the past
is the past so one will usually display a fake kindness towards

Sentiment Analysis And Stock Market Prediction
This chapter discusses about the important work and procedures related to sentiment analysis and
stock market prediction done previously. These researches and publications are related to my
speculations and will further motivate with the end goal.
The approach used in this thesis is inspired by Bollen et al s strategy [12], with a step taken forward to
implement PageRank algorithm to increase the accuracy of results and use of different sentiment
analysis techniques than the techniques used by him. In 2010, Bollen used Twitter data for finding the
predictability of Twitter sentiments on stock market with high accuracy. He proposed a method for
prediction of the changes in the stock market price based on the mood of people on Twitter. ... Show

The second phase includes polarity classification in which corpus is classified into positive, negative,
both or neutral using 10 different features and 2 simple classifiers. Neutral polar classification and
polarity classification achieved an average accuracy of 75.9% and 65.7%.
Besides understanding the effects of twitter data and sentiment analysis, a large group of researchers is
attracted towards various types of predictions and their applications in various fields. Andrei Oghina
[28] predicted Internet Movie Database (IMDB) ratings by information retrieval from social media.
They hypothesized that the correlation can be found between the IMDB ratings and social media
signals related to movie artifacts (e.g. movie title) . In 2010, Andranik et. al. [29 ] analyzed tweets
which mentioned political parties and politician during German election 2009 and found that large
number of tweets reflects voter preferences. Also, there are researches speculating the fact that Twitter
can be used in areas like real time event detection like earthquakes [30], tracking the spread of
diseases [31].
There is also prior work in finding the correlations between social media and stock market. In 2010,
Gilbert and Karahalios [32] estimated anxiety and fear from a dataset of over 20 million posts from
LiveJournal site. They calculated an index of US national mood known as the Anxiety Index. Results
of this experiment showed that when the Anxiety Index rose, the S P 500 market ended

Infantile Amnesia Research Paper
Ever wondered why you were at a family gathering and all of your family were telling stories of
childhood memories and you were the only on with the constipated face because you had no idea of
what they were talking about? Well you might be one of few who may have infantile amnesia. In the
late 19th Century, Sigmund Freud described the phenomenon in which people are unable to recall
events from early childhood as infantile amnesia. Infantile amnesia or sometimes called childhood
amnesia can be defined as the inability of adults to retrieve episodic memories before the age of 2 to 4
years, as well as the period before age 10 of which adults retain fewer memories than might otherwise
be expected given the passage of time. Infantile amnesia is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Meltzoff 1995 conducted a study with about one hundred and ninety two infants evenly divided
between 14 and 16 months old. The researchers assessed long term memory recall using nonverbal
methods requiring the subjects to reenact a past event from memory. He conducted two different
experiments which were composed of two treatment groups. A delay of 2 months was used in
Experiment 1 and a delay of 4 months in Experiment 2. In one treatment group, motor practice
(immediate imitation) was allowed before the delay was imposed; in the other group, subjects were
prevented from motor practice before the delay. Age matched control groups were used to assess the
natural production of the target acts in the lack of exposure to the model in both experiments. The
results demonstrated significant deferred imitation for both treatment groups at both delay intervals,
and furthermore showed that infants retained and imitated multiple acts. These findings suggest that
infants have a non verbal declarative memory system that supports the recall of past events across
long term delays. It also implies that infants can form such memories so why is infantile amnesia still
such a thing ? One possibility may be that because it was a nonverbal declarative memory that was
performed and retained. Plus there was a certain time frame in which you could receive these
memories, thus concluding that the older the individual the faster the loss of ability to retain certain

Hypocrisy In The Scarlet Letter By Nathanial Hawthorne
Throughout the book, The Scarlet Letter by Nathanial Hawthorne, there is much talk and criticism of
Hester. The idea of hypocrisy, the thought and claim to have moral standards but ones behavior does
not equal, is prominent in the lives of each character throughout the book. Hawthorne uses hypocrisy
as a way to display the moral of his characters and setting.
In the scarlet letter, the characters all display some sort of hypocrisy. Arthur Dimmesdale, the town s
most pure resident, is the reverend who teaches Godly lessons about sins and how you must never sin,
yet Dimmesdale is the other adulterer in Hester s situation. This well renowned reverend, who was
believed to be the one person to never commit sin, committed the very crime he is prosecuting Hester
about. His conflict and guilt show through his self inflicted harm and his mental state, which becomes

Should Schools Display The Ten Commandments
Why don t schools display the ten commandments To many people think that the ten commandments
are out of date, but the ten commandments could help students more than a code of ethics. More and
more schools are removing the ten commandments from their schools. Even though separation of state
and religion is a law, it could be offensive to non christian, and the ten commandments are viewed as
out of date. The ten commandments should still be displayed in public government buildings and in
schools. Just because some supreme court decided it illegal to display the ten commandments in
public buildings doesn t mean that he ruling can t be overturned let s look at some statistics on this
subject. So here some statistics taken on february 25 27 of 2005. The question asked was do you think
supreme court should or should not allow the texas state government to display a monument to the ten
commandments? 76% said they should. Here more statistics taken on february 25 27, 2005. The
question was how would you, personally, feel if there was a monument to the ten commandments on
the grounds of your state s capitol building? 56% found it appropriate while 24% did care and only
20% found it inappropriate. There also some statistics from june 25 27, 1999. The question asked was
do you favor or oppose allowing public schools to display the ten commandments? 74% favored it. So

Analysis Of Xxxtentacion s Song Everybody Dies In Their...
Music is a form of art that affects everyone in one way or another. Music is a piece of art that fully
reflects the artist s feelings or lifelong experiences. Art affects everyone emotionally and everyone can
relate to music because the lyrics are meaningful in every way just like a story. For example,
XXXTentacion s music reflects his feelings and his emotional struggles and how he had problems
with suicide and clinical depression. I relate to one of his songs, Everybody Dies in Their Nightmares
.
In this song, he talks about how he is trapped in his mind. The line Tired of feeling like I am trapped
in my damn mind demonstrates this very clearly. By this, he means that he is stuck feeling the same
emotions, is depressed and not able to change. I relate to this line from the song because I have dealt
with a lot of emotional issues related to my childhood. This song is a reminder of my past issues and
helps to remind myself that life is worth living and that all my efforts were worth it. XXXTentacion

It reached Europe in 1347. In a few years up to 50 percent of the population died, with higher
mortality rates in urban areas. It returned every few years for centuries. Reactions differed. Some
escaped into alcohol, sex, and crime. Others, believing the Black Death to be a punishment from God,
attempted to atone for their sins through self inflicted pain. The Jews became scapegoats. People fled,
carrying the plague with them. The resulting labor shortage could benefit peasants, although the
demand for products was also reduced. When the ruling classes reduced wage rates there were peasant
revolts. The ruling classes quelled the revolts, but social upheaval continued to plague the post plague
world. Wars were also part of the crisis, notably the Hundred Years War between England and France.
In 1328 the French Capetian line ended. England s Edward III (d.1377) claimed the French throne, but
a cousin to the Capets, Philip of Valois, became king (d.1350). War soon began. Armored knights on
horseback were the backbone of medieval armies, but English peasants using the longbow had begun
to change the face of war. When the French king was captured, a treaty was signed in 1360: France
agreed to pay ransom, the English received land in France, and Edward renounced his claim to the
throne. Using guerilla tactics, the French regained their lands, but in 1415 England s Henry V (d.1422)

Complications Of Government Corruption
Introduction: If we read the News today, we could see that the government all over the world is
corrupt. According to US Legal, government corruption is when government leaders abuse their
political power to extract and accumulate for private enrichment (US Legal, Inc.)[1]. Technically, this
is a bad thing because when government leaders use their power for their benefit, it does not
necessarily mean that it is beneficial to the public and the society. To prove or disprove this argument,
I decided to run an econometric analysis to see whether government corruption hinders or helps
economic development. Method: There were three datasets I used for this paper. The first and the main
dataset was the dataset that contained the data on government corruption, which came from the
Worldwide Governance Indicators excel file posted on World Bank. From this dataset, I pulled out one
important variable called Corruption, which is a measure of the government performance. It ranges
from 2.5 (bad government performance/corrupted) to 2.5(good government performance/not
corrupted). We need to be careful when interpreting this variable because even though this is a
corruption measure, higher positive value actually means the government is doing better and less
corrupted. The second dataset I used was Penn World Table version 9.0[3]. From this dataset, I pulled
out the variables: average hours worked (avh), human capital index, based on years of schooling and
returns to education

Advantages Of Apparel Industry
Theory During 1980s, most global firms focused on quality management in product design and
internal process improvement in order to achieve competitive advantage. Today, the spotlight shines
on transferring value to customers instead (Mentzer Williams 2001). Therefore, logistics has turned to
be the primary marketing instrument for increasing and sustaining competitive excellence. While
comparing to the past, logistics was only taken as a function regarding the higher productivity
objective (Hutt Speh 2011). According to the study of Mentzer Williams (2001), the approach to have
sustainable competitive advantage may not just adhere to only 4 factors of marketing mix: product,

The structure starts with fiber producers who can be both agricultural and chemical suppliers. Natural
fibers such as wool and cotton can be provided by various types of firms, but plenty of low cost
suppliers from Asia are the important competitors. Textile mills take the next responsibility, their
duties are spinning fiber into yarn, knitting and weaving operations and mostly they are fragmented to
SMEs (Small and medium sized enterprises). After being transformed by textile mills, the fabrics are
distributed to apparel manufacturers in order to produce the finished products and they are sold either
directly or through wholesalers, to a variety of retail stores (Kumar 2005). For the complex supply
chain activities in apparel industry which is mentioned above, it is vital to foster the logistics
efficiency to be adaptive, flexible and built upon dependable and predictable supply and demand
planning model (Gilbert Malmassari 2015). Hence, marketing teams in apparel companies are able to
perform their tasks in the precise approach by measuring market share and profitability through
popular measurements such as marketing effectiveness and competitive advantage (Mentzer Williams

Lorraine Hansberry grew up in an era filled with racism and segregation. Hansberry was a victim to
racism and prejudice when she was a little girl growing up with prosperous dreams as well as, when

Child Labour Dbq
Child workers in factories Children were viewed as a dispensable source of labour during the
Industrial Revolution. Evidence of this is that they were given potentially dangerous jobs, worked to
the point of exhaustion and harshly punished for their actions. Children were viewed as dispensable
because they were given potentially dangerous jobs. The jobs that children were made to do in
factories and mines were often in tight enclosed spaces or close to dangerous heavy machinery.
Evidence of this can be found in sources one, two and seven. Source one explains the job that
scavengers were given which is cleaning the machines while they were still working. This is very
dangerous as if they are not glued to the ground, hair can easily be ripped out their hair. Source two is

children are woken at 4am. They work for 16 hours, with little breaks, until they go home at night to
their parents . Source five explains the food they ate. Oatcake was thick and coarse and was the
children s breakfast and supper. Their dinner was potato pie wit boiled bacon inside. This tasted awful,
but they were hungry enough to eat anything. Non nutritious food and sleep deprivation helped cause
exhaustion. This affected their work pace and proves that they were used as a dispensable source. It
also showed that the people running the factories wanted the machines to just keep going and didn t
care about how the workers, especially children, were

Grotesque In Winesburg, Ohio
The word grotesque describes a person who develops bizarre traits as a result of emotional problems.
This similar characteristic among people of different stories yet familiar sufferings develop an
underlying trend in the community. The handling of their emotional trauma makes these characters
grotesque because they develop a new perspective of life and reflect the past, present, and future. As
reporter George Willard interacts with individuals in Sherwood Anderson s Winesburg, Ohio, Willard
is exposed to the grotesques and their stories that changed their outlook on life forever. In the book,
the stories concerning characters Jesse Bentley, Alice Hindman, and Enoch Robinson exemplify the
development of a grotesque individual as a result of traumatic incidents. Jesse Bentley is a changed
man because of the incident regarding the relationship with him and his daughter s son, David Hardy.
Raising his only daughter, Louise Bentley grew up with many disappointments of her father because

She develops a coping mechanism with loneliness by having a protective attachment to inanimate
objects. Her inability of turning away from a dream that will never come true causes her to limit the
capacity for a variety of experience (Howe). Because she is not open to finding new love, she instills
herself in her own tunnel with no sight of escape. Unable to find happiness within herself and others
she interacts with in her life, she reluctantly accepts the fact that many people must live and die alone,
even in Winesburg, (Anderson 120). Her situation molds her to become a grotesque because her
loneliness becomes too much to handle. Instead of finding an outlet to happiness, she settles with an
unsatisfied heart and a negative perspective on the world. The grotesque becomes depressed and cries
for a substance that does not even exist, which is the love from Ned

Response And Recovery
There is nothing automatic when it comes to disaster response and recovery operations. Each disaster
can have its unique character, along with many challenges in the process. As Coppola points out, the
task of limiting injuries, loss of life, and further damage to property and the environment is diverse
(Coppola, 2011 p. 305). Response and Recovery are everyone s responsibility. At the federal level, the
government, realizes there are many factors involved in organizing and communicating during the
response and recovery process. One such factor is the ability to communicate in rural areas of
developing countries. People may not hear how the authorities are responding to their needs and panic
may set in. Additionally, the multiple language barriers

Frogs And Toad Book Report
This nonfiction selection is about frogs and toads, it informs the reader about the essential facts about
frogs and toads as well as introducing additional information you probably don t know. Speaking
about this, there were specific sections I enjoyed reading about more than others. For instance, I
cherished reading about how adult frogs cared for their offspring, it demonstrated the grand amount of
devotion certain animals provide for their young. Indeed, this impacted me because it portrayed now
animals have emotions too, and don t just care about themselves. For example, the African bullfrog
exhibits valiant actions because it attempts to ward off danger to any animal that poses a threat to its

Considering this, I would definitely continue reading other books on this topic because they captivate

about frogs and toads, but the majority of it was simple facts and I want to read another book that is
complex and has facts that most people wouldn t know. However, this book was adequate and has
encouraged me to read other books about frogs. Equally, I find frogs engaging because their features
are unique compared to other organisms. To illustrate, frogs have skin that they can breathe through
and they don t have rib cages, making them one of the most interesting animals in the animal
kingdom. Specifically, I m longing to read a book about glass frogs because their skin is see through

book about frogs because there s a grand quantity that I don t know about them and I m yearning to

Basics of Proposed Plan:
Assessment:
Each client who decides to seek treatment will first undergo a thorough assessment. This assessment
will include use of two or more self reporting tools. These tools may include the DAST 10, AUDIT,
Kessler 6 10, and C SSRS (Columbia Suicide Severity Rating Scale) (SAMHSA, 2011, para 3 4).
These scores will be used in conjunction with the DSM 5 section III emerging measures (SAMHSA,
2011, para. 2). A proper assessment is needed to determine the severity of substance abuse and the
mental state of the client. If needed, the client will be further evaluated for the need of psychiatric
medications to stabilize any potential mental illness concerns such as depression, anxiety, or
schizophrenia.
As a matter, of course, detox on an in patient basis may be required before treatment can be

How Did The Korean War Affect America
In 1894, the Sino Japanese war broke out, which was the start of Korea s involvement of
independence. The Japanese had easily dominated the Korean peninsula, driving the Chinese out and
demanding them to recognize Korea as an independent state. This incident gave shock to most of the
western countries as they did not know about Japan s military prowess and modernization. As a result,
the Russians felt intimidated by the Japanese because they did not want anything to happen to
Manchuria, the country that gave them easy transport with the Trans Siberian Railway. However, as
they feared, the Russo Japanese War broke out in 1904, regarding the competition of the control of
Manchuria and Korea between Russia and Japan.

The history is one of the reasons why the war is a civil war. Before the Korean War occurred, the US
and USSR had arbitrarily split Korea after World War II. The 38th Parallel line that split the two
Koreas became official and determined which countries were supporting which part. Because of the
line dividing the two countries, Kim Il Sung, the president of North Korea, suggested to USSR an
attack in order to reunify Korea. The USSR had probably agreed to this suggestion because they
would ve seen this invasion as a test drive for Berlin. Although it seemed as if the USSR had started
this war, Kim Il Sung had first thought of this idea and made it into reality. Also, when looking
through the events after the parallel line was established, both of the Koreas had numerous skirmishes
that involved in reunifying their country. Kim Il Sung and Rhee Syng Man, the president of South
Korea, both were competing for the leadership of the whole Korea for already a long time. This shows
the hatred that was already built up in both the leaders hearts, which made Kim Il Sung suggested the

How Did Hitler Gain Power
Adolf Hitler was born on the 20th of April in 1889 in a small village in Austria. This little boy would
later become one of the most feared men in the entire world. A man who would singlehandedly
become responsible for the death and suffering of millions of people. How was it possible for such a
man to get all this power? Hitler became so powerful because of three factors: The Treaty of
Versailles, the German economic crisis and the use of propaganda.
The Treaty of Versailles was an important catalyst for Hitler s rise to power. On 28 July 1919 the
Treaty of Versailles was signed by the Weimar Republic. This caused Germany to lose a large piece of
their territory. Additionally, Germany also needed to admit guilt of the war. This made German ...

With propaganda Hitler tried to convince people that the Nazi s was the only right party. In 1929
Hitler chose Josef Goebbels to be his minister of propaganda. Josef Goebbels created campaigns with
slogans and pictures which were spread throughout the country to convince and persuade people about
ideas. Hitler used propaganda in different ways. Pro Nazi s movies were made under production of
Josef Goebbels and books with Nazi propaganda were written. The Nazi s even sent instructions to
newspapers which instructed them to write anti Jewish stories. Josef Goebbels made sure that no one
could see or read something that was damaging to the Nazi s. Books which did not match with the
Nazi ideal were burned and the Nazi s even controlled the film industry. This meant many movies
idealized Hitler and the Nazi party. Hitler used propaganda because although he won the elections, he
did not have the majority of support along the people. Therefore he wanted to ensure the people that
the Nazi party was the only correct choice. Moreover he wanted to convince people who did not
support him that it was pointless to continue with their opposition. The Nazi s use of propaganda
helped Hitler to convince the German people of his ideas. Goebbels once said: The essence of
propaganda consists in winning people over to an idea so sincerely, so vitally, that in the end they
succumb to it utterly and can never escape from it. This illustrates the importance of propaganda in
winning the peoples support and subsequently gaining

Civil Liberties, Habeas Corpus, and the War on Terror have all played a role throughout history.
Throughout history, the motivation of man s self interest has concluded in the domination of those
with little or no power in the absence of the rule of law. The war on terror presents an unpredictable
challenge for the United States since terrorists are apprehended and deprived of due process. Habeas
corpus is considered to be one of the most fundamental guarantees of personal liberty that we

As a feature of common law, the right of Habeas corpus reflects the age old contest between
individual and the state. Habeas corpus empowers the individual in holding accountable the exercise
of the states power to influence liberty. Our founding fathers were well aware of the Magna Carta, and
its astonishing abilities to be something great especially James Madison who was the primary architect
of the American Bill of Rights. Greatly influenced by the potential of the agreement, James Madison
began his own interpretation. James Madison borrowed heavily from Article 39 of the Magna Carta
which limited the legislative power. Madison was a key player in growing that particular article into
the Bill of Rights. It was through Magna Carta and our founding fathers interpretation of that article
that the American courts used and still use today when interpreting the rights of enemy combatants.
(Halliday, 2011) September 24th 1862 Lincoln issued a proclamation suspending the writs of Habeas
corpus nationwide and specified whose rights would be suspended. All traitors and rebel militias
against the U.S. shall be subject to martial law and liable to trial and punishment. (Longley, 2012) In

My Journey For My Life
My college applications were complete and I was on top of the world. My father couldn t be more
proud of my accomplishment. His face beamed with excitement as he enthusiastically told all of his
friends, colleagues, and family that I was about to transfer to a university. The rejoicing didn t last
long, and came to an abrupt halt when I witnessed my father having a seizure and collapsing. He was
diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor that week and passed away the following summer, causing
my life to take a drastic turn. Since my father was the only person I relied on, his passing had a major
impact on my life. Yet, the hardships subsequent to his passing played a powerful role in the person I
have become and fuel my pursuit of becoming an attorney. My journey begins long before I was born
and began when my parents were Iranian refugees and escaped the persecution that ensued after the
Islamic Revolution of 1979. The political turmoil led my parents to leave their family and possessions
behind as they sought to provide a better life for their three children in America. Along their journey to
the United States, I was born. After years of strenuous travels, my parents arrived in Los Angeles in
February of 1989. Shortly after arriving, my parents decided to get a divorce. My mother remarried,
and I gravitated towards my father. He embraced me with open arms of love, and told me nothing had

Hymn To Odyn Analysis
Apollo Hymn Homer s hymn to Pythian Apollo is written as a homage to Apollo, composed of stories
illustrating the important aspects of his life. Homer goes on to describe in detail how Apollo wishes to

the site of Delphi, Hera s birth to the monstrous Typhaon, and conclusively, how Apollo recruits his
Cretan followers or priests. The hymn opens with a description of worship for the god Apollo, while
he plays his lyre. With the first few notes of his song, the other immortals quickly gather to the place
where the melody can be heard. Apollo s music is entrancing, all present are intrigued by the beautiful

Homer goes on to describe how as Apollo was considering how to acquire these followers, he took
notice of a passing ship on the sea full of Cretan sailors. Intercepting them on their journey, Apollo
transformed into a dolphin and lept upon their boat, and caused the ship to shake with his mighty
power. The sailors, unrecognizing of the god, became fearful and followed the powerful wind that lead
them to Crisa. Once upon the shore, Apollo revealed his true and mighty form to the sailors installing
an awesome fear in each of them (278) and they rejoiced in serving him. With the aid of Apollo, the
sailors all became initiated so they may devote themselves to the practices and worship of Apollo.
This story highlights how Apollo came to be known as Apollo Delphinios, the root of the word
meaning dolphin, and likewise, how the location received the name Delphi. Along with the tales
asserting Apollo s birth and origin, the hymn also discusses Hera and the monster Typhaon that she
creates. Enraged with her husband Zeus, since he has on his own born the wise goddess Athena from
his forehead, Hera hopes to give birth a monster that will become famous among mortals, but will not
go against the sacred marriage vow that she and Zeus share. Hera prayed to the Earth and the

Target s Ethical Theories
Analyzing this case with ethical theories of Utilitarianism, Deontology and Virtue theory will
determine Target s actions as ethical or not. These three ethical theories are described as Utilitarianism
is making everyone happy, Deontology is making rational decisions, and Virtue is analyzed on
courage, honesty, self control and fairness (Chonko, n.d.) . Target s letter to the vendors was unethical
in many ways.
So when Target sent the letters to the vendors demanding they give them the exclusive rights to the
products was unethical by asking vendor only to cater to their needs. This action forced many vendors
to look at how they could support Target but be ethical themselves to other customers of the products
they were supplying to Target and other customers. So reviewing this behavior by Utilitarianism,

The decision to send the letters to their vendors was a reactive way to try to stop show rooming. Target

making decisions irrationally and also demanding their vendors make their decisions without
reviewing the causality of the problem.
Lastly, reviewing Target s letters to their vendors by Virtue theory leads to the unethical behavior by
Target management. How fair is it to allow Target to monopolize the market by forcing vendor to

Analysis Of Antonio Vivaldi s The Four Seasons
Antonio Vivaldi, a Baroque composer conceived in Venice in 1678, is extremely outstanding for his
sonatas, musical dramas, and vocal music, yet especially for his 500 or more concertos. Among these
works is potentially Vivaldi s most prestigious concerto, The Four Seasons . This piece is to a great
degree expressive, particularly as it is joined by an individual poem for each season, which gives the
entertainers a manual for deciphering the nuances that are ever present in Vivaldi s works.[1] Vivaldi
is additionally the most illustrative European author of a kind that he advanced in the 1710s, the

including Bach.[2] Vivaldi is likewise said to have either imagined or if nothing else to have promoted
ritornello in his concertos, notwithstanding numerous different ideas, for example, little motivic units
that he utilized as topics, and his utilization of mood to fabricate strain as his creations escalated.[3]
Vivaldi was a critical arranger in his chance and even right up til today as a result of his various

through his pieces. This paper will initially talk about the foundation paving the way to Vivaldi s

Description Of Stress Strain Behavior
The description of stress strain behavior is similar to metals, but the mechanical properties of
polymers depend on the strain rate, temperature, and environmental conditions.
The stress strain behavior could vary from brittle, plastic and highly elastic. Tensile strength and
modulus are orders of magnitude smaller than those of metals and elongation is 1000 % that of metals
in a few cases. The tensile strength is defined at the fracture point and can be lower than the yield
strength.
Mechanical properties change dramatically with temperature, going from glass like brittle behavior at
low temperatures to a rubber like behavior at high temperatures.
Decreasing the strain rate has the same influence on the strain strength characteristics as increasing the
temperature: the material becomes softer and more ductile. The tensile modulus decreases with
increasing temperature or diminishing strain rate.
Higher cross linking and molecular mass strengthen the polymer. Crystallinity increases strength as
the secondary bonding is enhanced when the molecular chains are closely packed and parallel. Pre
deformation by drawing increases strength by orienting the molecular chains. For undrawn polymers,
heating increases the tensile modulus and yield strength, and reduces the ductility.
The fracture strength of polymers is much lower than that of metals. Fracture starts at regions of high
stress concentration like cracks at flaws, scratches, etc. Fracture happens when there is breaking of

Porters Competitive Forces
There are many factors that drive competition within the car rental industry. Price competition may
not be the only factor; as companies are focused on implementing a value system and long term
profitability. In addition, most companies are gradually lessening their focus on their airline operations
and focusing on leisure rentals.
Threat of potential entrants is low since the established car rental companies have continued to
increase their market share. Plus, their competition is fierce within the car rental industry. Alternatives
to Business Car Rental include video conferencing, virtual teams, collaborative software, personal cars
and public transport. Supplier power within the rental car industry is low. Suppliers do not have a

The Battle Of The Confederate Flags
The Confederate flags those hung in the campus of Harvard University on March, 1991 triggered
many controversial disputes among the faculty of the Harvard community. Many students argued with
the hanging of those offensive flags in the window of the dormitory are the symbols of Slavery and
offer many offensive message, while others claimed that those symbols are the form of freedom of
speech and it should be protected according to the First Amendment. The Harvard faculty did not react
to the incident that happened on the campus until President Bok s speech on March 12. Derek Bok, he
was the president of Harvard University, he implied that he is not the supporter for both sides. When
he stood up for the justice and solved the disagreements that have risen up within the Harvard
community, he appeared to imply carefully and rethink as a highly educated lawyer. His ideas and
suggestions for resolving the problem, unlike the other universities and colleges, they were peaceful
and properly conducted. Bok comments that when speaking about the universities who have enacted
codes to protect their communities from forms of speech that are deemed to be insensitive to the
feelings of other groups Bok created caution that these universities actually ignored or even violated
the First Amendment. This controversial incident risen up one the campus of Harvard University, and
it leaded to a protest because of some students displayed a swastika, a very offensive symbol for

  • 2. Four Aphorism Analysis Every person capable of thinking and processing has a different set of guidelines and mindsets for his or her life. These guidelines tend to be words or mottos designed to help guide each individual through life and/or hardship that may arise. In the short time i ve had in this world, i ve been able to narrow my thoughts down to four basic principles. One: I believe i am here to learn about and experience everything this life has to offer. Two: It is important to approach new information openly, but with some skepticism. Not every piece of information presented to me will be true. Three: harm no one; there is no reason is good enough to cause suffering of any kind. Four: Remember both the unimportance and significance of every action i make. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This is a reminder I like to call Comforting Nihilism. Nihilism is believe that meaningless, but there is another less dreary way to regard it that i find reassuring. Essentially, it is the idea that nothing matters, so life is limitless. Gandhi sums this up by saying, almost everything you do in life will be insignificant. But it is very important that you do it. In comparison to the infinity of stars and space forever expanding in every direction, I am very small. This also means I am small enough that universe does not hinge on my decisions. I can eat an entire cake, or fail a test, or move to Canada, or rob a bank. The world will not end if I do something that makes me happy, or make a mistake. At same time, there is so much I could change so much in my own life. Eating a cake, moving to Canada, robbing a bank, failing a test. All of these actions could affect my life in a monumental way, and at the same time, they are completely meaningless. Everyone is both an insignificant speck, a blink in the history of the universe, and a great powerful being, capable of changing everything with one ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. An Analysis Of Stone, Patton, And Sheila Stone, Patton, and Sheila, in their book Difficult Conversations, explain that any conversation consists of three simultaneous conversations the What Happened? , Feelings, and Identity Conversations. The Flint Water Crisis is an example of a difficult conversation, a conflict with several difficult conversations happening all at once: conversations between Flint s residents and government officials, between different government agencies, and among residents organizing resistance and advocacy. Each conversation contains all the three conversations described by Stone et al. The What Happened Conversation is based on perception and deals with three assumptions: truth, intentions, and blame. The conflict arises on a disagreement of what ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The unconscious interpretation of conflict is the underlying concept of the What Happened Conversation. Most difficult conversations involve disagreement about what has happened or what should happen (Stone, Patton, Sheila, 2010, p.7); this is based on the individual s perception of what has happened. Loosely translated, this concept refers to Lewicki, Barry, Sander s analysis of cognitive bias Ignoring Other s Cognitions theme. In the What Happened Conversation we focus on our own perception and ignore other s cognitions, which allows negotiators to simplify their thinking about otherwise complex processes; ... and causes a failure to recognize the contingent nature of both sides behaviors and responses (Lewicki, Barry, Sanders, 2015, p. 156). Interactions between people most often rely on truth assumptions that I am right. But the truth for each person differs since it depends on the individual s interpretation of the situation. Therefore, rightness is based not on the ultimate truth but on conflicting perceptions, interpretations, and values (Stone et al., 2010). Perception and cognition is based on one s own beliefs, stereotyping, and prejudices. All parties involved in the Flint water crisis are influenced by their belief system which unconsciously led to the interpretation of events and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 5. Summary Of Carolyn Kizer s Bitch Arguably, poetry could be considered one of the biggest mediums artists use to express themselves to an audience. Everyday, radio stations play hundreds of poems to listeners who feel direct connections to what they hear. A great poet can write a piece, while never having met it s reader, that poem will leave the reader feeling as if it were written for them. Pulitzer Prize Winner Carolyn Kizer, wrote poems that connected with millions of women during the 1960 s, 70 s and 80 s. During a time, when women were not to be taken seriously, she was considered one of the first feminists and spread her messages to readers from all walks of life. One piece Kizer wrote late in her career entitled, Bitch , describes a person s feelings towards an ex lover as they run into each other years later. If Kizer was attempting to give readers a deeper understanding on the inner struggles that a female faces during her interpersonal relationship with a former partner, then I think she has succeeded. (Kizer 5) I think these two lines are spot on because when one runs into an ex years later internal instinct will have them relive moments in the past and why it didn t work or what left them hurt. The approach used in this thesis is inspired by Bollen et al s strategy [12], with a step taken forward to implement PageRank algorithm to increase the accuracy of results and use of different sentiment analysis techniques than the techniques used by him. Andrei Oghina [28] predicted Internet Movie Database (IMDB) ratings by information retrieval from social media. Also, there are researches speculating the fact that Twitter can be used in areas like real time event detection like earthquakes [30], tracking the spread of diseases [31]. There is also prior work in finding the correlations between social media and stock market. Infantile Amnesia Research Paper Ever wondered why you were at a family gathering and all of your family were telling stories of childhood memories and you were the only on with the constipated face because you had no idea of what they were talking about? Well you might be one of few who may have infantile amnesia. In the late 19th Century, Sigmund Freud described the phenomenon in which people are unable to recall events from early childhood as infantile amnesia. Infantile amnesia or sometimes called childhood amnesia can be defined as the inability of adults to retrieve episodic memories before the age of 2 to 4 years, as well as the period before age 10 of which adults retain fewer memories than might otherwise be expected given the passage of time. The researchers assessed long term memory recall using nonverbal methods requiring the subjects to reenact a past event from memory. He conducted two different experiments which were composed of two treatment groups. A delay of 2 months was used in Experiment 1 and a delay of 4 months in Experiment 2. In one treatment group, motor practice (immediate imitation) was allowed before the delay was imposed; in the other group, subjects were prevented from motor practice before the delay. Age matched control groups were used to assess the natural production of the target acts in the lack of exposure to the model in both experiments. The results demonstrated significant deferred imitation for both treatment groups at both delay intervals, and furthermore showed that infants retained and imitated multiple acts. These findings suggest that infants have a non verbal declarative memory system that supports the recall of past events across long term delays. It also implies that infants can form such memories so why is infantile amnesia still such a thing ? One possibility may be that because it was a nonverbal declarative memory that was performed and retained. Plus there was a certain time frame in which you could receive these memories, thus concluding that the older the individual the faster the loss of ability to retain certain ... Music is a piece of art that fully reflects the artist s feelings or lifelong experiences. Art affects everyone emotionally and everyone can relate to music because the lyrics are meaningful in every way just like a story. For example, XXXTentacion s music reflects his feelings and his emotional struggles and how he had problems with suicide and clinical depression. I relate to one of his songs, Everybody Dies in Their Nightmares . In this song, he talks about how he is trapped in his mind. • 17. Complications Of Government Corruption Introduction: If we read the News today, we could see that the government all over the world is corrupt. According to US Legal, government corruption is when government leaders abuse their political power to extract and accumulate for private enrichment (US Legal, Inc.)[1]. Technically, this is a bad thing because when government leaders use their power for their benefit, it does not necessarily mean that it is beneficial to the public and the society. To prove or disprove this argument, I decided to run an econometric analysis to see whether government corruption hinders or helps economic development. Method: There were three datasets I used for this paper. The first and the main dataset was the dataset that contained the data on government corruption, which came from the Worldwide Governance Indicators excel file posted on World Bank. From this dataset, I pulled out one important variable called Corruption, which is a measure of the government performance. It ranges from 2.5 (bad government performance/corrupted) to 2.5(good government performance/not corrupted). We need to be careful when interpreting this variable because even though this is a corruption measure, higher positive value actually means the government is doing better and less corrupted. The second dataset I used was Penn World Table version 9.0[3]. From this dataset, I pulled out the variables: average hours worked (avh), human capital index, based on years of schooling and returns to education ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The 38th Parallel line that split the two Koreas became official and determined which countries were supporting which part. Because of the line dividing the two countries, Kim Il Sung, the president of North Korea, suggested to USSR an attack in order to reunify Korea. The USSR had probably agreed to this suggestion because they would ve seen this invasion as a test drive for Berlin. Although it seemed as if the USSR had started this war, Kim Il Sung had first thought of this idea and made it into reality. Also, when looking through the events after the parallel line was established, both of the Koreas had numerous skirmishes that involved in reunifying their country. A man who would singlehandedly become responsible for the death and suffering of millions of people. How was it possible for such a man to get all this power? Hitler became so powerful because of three factors: The Treaty of Versailles, the German economic crisis and the use of propaganda. The Treaty of Versailles was an important catalyst for Hitler s rise to power. On 28 July 1919 the Treaty of Versailles was signed by the Weimar Republic. This caused Germany to lose a large piece of their territory. Additionally, Germany also needed to admit guilt of the war. This made German ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... With propaganda Hitler tried to convince people that the Nazi s was the only right party. In 1929 Hitler chose Josef Goebbels to be his minister of propaganda. Josef Goebbels created campaigns with slogans and pictures which were spread throughout the country to convince and persuade people about ideas. Hitler used propaganda in different ways. Pro Nazi s movies were made under production of Josef Goebbels and books with Nazi propaganda were written. The Nazi s even sent instructions to newspapers which instructed them to write anti Jewish stories. Josef Goebbels made sure that no one could see or read something that was damaging to the Nazi s. Books which did not match with the Nazi ideal were burned and the Nazi s even controlled the film industry. This meant many movies idealized Hitler and the Nazi party. Hitler used propaganda because although he won the elections, he did not have the majority of support along the people. Therefore he wanted to ensure the people that the Nazi party was the only correct choice. Moreover he wanted to convince people who did not support him that it was pointless to continue with their opposition. The Nazi s use of propaganda helped Hitler to convince the German people of his ideas. Goebbels once said: The essence of propaganda consists in winning people over to an idea so sincerely, so vitally, that in the end they succumb to it utterly and can never escape from it. • 38. Description Of Stress Strain Behavior The description of stress strain behavior is similar to metals, but the mechanical properties of polymers depend on the strain rate, temperature, and environmental conditions. The stress strain behavior could vary from brittle, plastic and highly elastic. Tensile strength and modulus are orders of magnitude smaller than those of metals and elongation is 1000 % that of metals in a few cases. The tensile strength is defined at the fracture point and can be lower than the yield strength. Mechanical properties change dramatically with temperature, going from glass like brittle behavior at low temperatures to a rubber like behavior at high temperatures. Decreasing the strain rate has the same influence on the strain strength characteristics as increasing the temperature: the material becomes softer and more ductile. The tensile modulus decreases with increasing temperature or diminishing strain rate. Higher cross linking and molecular mass strengthen the polymer. Crystallinity increases strength as the secondary bonding is enhanced when the molecular chains are closely packed and parallel. Pre deformation by drawing increases strength by orienting the molecular chains. For undrawn polymers, heating increases the tensile modulus and yield strength, and reduces the ductility. The fracture strength of polymers is much lower than that of metals. Fracture starts at regions of high stress concentration like cracks at flaws, scratches, etc. Fracture happens when there is breaking of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
