The Importance Of Georgia s Specialty Crops
The importance of Georgia s specialty crops have unending, positive factors. These extraordinary
crops have developed our economy and reputation. Half of Georgia s history deals with crops and
farming them to make a living for a family. Georgia wouldn t be the same without the factors that it
first started out with. Sweet Corn has always been a major income in the southern state. Native
Americans and European Settlers depended on grains to sustain life and trade. If something were to
take sweet corn away from Georgia, the economy would suffer . The same thing would happen with
any other specialty crop, here in Georgia. Georgia s peach industry has a long tradition. The Georgia
Encyclopedia website stated that in the 18th century, Georgia

High Intensity Sheet Training
Want to get leaner, faster, and stronger? Looking for the best way to maximize your workouts? Then
you should try HIIT training. This acronym stands for high intensity interval training, which is one of
the most effective workouts available today. It s the perfect way to burn fat and boost your
performance while preserving lean muscle.
How Does HIIT Work?
High intensity interval training has become one of the most popular workouts for fat loss. Compared
to regular cardio, it produces better results in less time. On top of that, it melts fat away and helps
build muscle. Steady state cardio burns fat too, but it may also cause muscle loss and increase cortisol
levels. HIIT does exactly the opposite.
A typical HIIT session lasts eight to

There were two different kingdoms Upper Egypt and Lower Egypt. They operated like two different
countries. They had their own religions and ways of doing things. One day they united together. After
that had happened, Egypt became more organized. They developed a system named hierarchy.
Hierarchy was a class system and each Egyptian was in the system. They had specific rights and were
each in a class. There were seven classes the priests, the warriors, the cowherds, the swineherds, the
shopkeepers, the interpreters, and the boatmen. The names were given to them from the occupations
they followed. Also, in Egypt, there weren t as many slaves as other countries. Slaves were left out.
The king called them tools that speak .
There was a large selection of jobs for the Egyptians. The jobs included carpenters, craftsmen, potters,
bead makers, stonemasons, sculptors, brickmakers, the mistress of the house, and merchants.
Carpenters had to build many objects such as roof beams, furniture, or statues. They used tools such as
saws, axes, chisels, adzes, wooden mallets, stone polishers, and bow drills. Craftsmen had to create
protective amulets, tomb paintings, magical enchantments on papyrus, funeral jars, painted pottery,
pottery figures, painted scenes, cartouches, hieroglyphics, ivory grave goods, protective weapons,
boats, and bark. Artisans were also considered as craftsmen. Potters had to produce utilitarian vessels.

Summary Of On Not Stealing The Blue Estuaries
Throughout Julia Alvarez s, On Not Stealing the Blue Estuaries, the speaker makes a self discovery
about herself and what it is she is going to do with her life after this moment. This poem is an
unearthing for the speaker and is full of other discoveries about what it is she finds she is destined for.
The author uses imagery, figurative language and selection of detail in order to describe her
discoveries, which to her is discovering that she wants to be a write poetry. As this poem begins the
speaker is wandering around a bookstore and comes upon a book, which captivates her attention,
which she uses imagery to describe, Your book surprised me on the bookstore shelf swans gliding on a
blue black lake. As readers continue the poem, she describes the book with more imagery, putting a
clear picture of the book, making readers imagine what it is the book looks like, the swans posed on a

As a matter of fact, when she first sees the book she uses much detail when she says, the swans posed

swans which cover it, the swans posed on the cover, their question mark necks arced over.. here she
illustrated a picture of what the swans necks looked like to her, the swans dipped their alphabet necks.
The speaker was able to use much detail when describing not only the book, but when she was writing
she uses much detail to describe her discovery of love of writing, I could almost feel the blue waters
drawn into the tip of my pen. Here the speaker uses much detail in describing how it is the author feels
about the book. Here discoveries are very well conveyed by the persuasive selection of detail

David Reiger Case
 In a matter of hours, Julie Taylor, director of Human Resources at Danville Airlines in Milwaukee,
Wisconsin, would have to make a difficult recommendation to the airline s board of directors.
 One of the airline s best pilots, David Reiger, 42, had recently lost his father to Huntington s
disease, a progressive, inherited neurological disorder that causes severe movement disorder and
eventual dementia.
 Danville officials had been concerned about Reiger s susceptibility to Huntington s. In a routine
blood test for alcohol and drug use, Danville had determined after discreetly sending the blood
elsewhere to be tested that Reiger did indeed have the gene for Huntington s disease. That meant that,
at some point, Reiger would develop the disease. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

ETHICAL ANALYSIS:
UTILITARIANISM: Utilitarianism argues that one should act in a way that produces the greatest good
for the greatest number of people.
 Understand the risk:We have to understand what if we allow David Rieger to fly and suddenly he
get sick and can t able to fly. There are more than 500 passengers, we can t take the risk of 500
passengers just for one person. Utilitarianism theory implement on this case study that act in a way
that produces greatest good for the greatest number of people which are the passengers, in any
organization or business we things customers safety first, we can t compromise on it.
 Employee s values: Consider that David Rieger is one of the best pilot of Danville Airlines, we can

The Movie Watched Is A Few Good Men And It Was Obtained At...
The title of the movie watched is A Few Good Men and it was obtained at 123movies.gs. Its major
characters are Lt. Daniel Kaffee, Lt. Commander JoAnne Galloway, Colonel Nathan R. Jessep, and
Lance Corporal Harold Dawson. Five themes that the movie dramatically displayed were how plea
deals were done, the respect judges get, the responsibilities of a judge, the responsibilities of a defense
attorney, and it also showed very little of what a bailiff does in the courtroom. Over 90% of
convictions are from negotiated guilty pleas. They help avoid court and a lot of paperwork lawyers
may have to do which gives them more time to focus on cases that are bigger and more serious. In the
movie, Captain West stated to Lt. Commander Galloway, ...I m sure it ll boil down to a five minute
plea bargain and a week s worth of paper work. No one expected the case to make it to court. Plea
bargaining does not take place in a court room; it can take place at a restaurant, a game, the lawyers
can meet at their houses, and many other places. Lieutenant Kaffee made plea deals while he was
playing baseball. Since many cases get plea deals many lawyers do not see the court room often. Forty
four plea bargains were done by Lt. Kaffee in nine months and he had not once seen the inside of a
courtroom until the case that takes place in the movie. Even though plea deals have its advantages,
problems can arise from it such as the defendants not wanting a deal, one defendant in the movie did
not want one,

Essay on The Rich Brother by Tobias Wolff
The short story, The Rich Brother, by Tobias Wolff represents the same concept that everyday people
all over the world encounter. This portrays how having siblings can be an enormous part of a persons
life. The rivalry between siblings is often very competitive, but at the same time similar to magnets.
When they are not connected it may seem they are independent and whole, but when examined closely
it is obvious they are really relying on each other to function properly. Although Pete and Donald s life
are separate and completely different, they are in fact very dependent on each other.
The meaning of dependence is the act of being influenced, relying on, or needing someone for aid or
support. Dependence is one of the main ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Even thought Pete does not show caring emotions, his actions say all the words. For example: Donald
said, Pete do you ever dream about me? Pete replied with, What kind of question is that? Of course I
don t dream about you. He said untruthfully. (pg.367). This is one of the only parts in this short story
that shows the reader a very small part of Pete s soft side. Another example compares in a similar way
that Pete does in fact have a connection with his only brother Donald. There was something wrong
with me, and you were helping me out. Taking care of me. Just the two of us. I don t know where
everyone else was supposed to be. Pete said. (pg. 369) If someone were to analyze only this part of the
story it would portray that in his dream he depended on Donald. When he says it was just the two of
them, it gives the reader an idea that was the way it was supposed to be, that Pete didn t need anyone
else in the world to help him but only needed the person he could truly rely upon. Dependency is one
of the main concealed habits between siblings, not only growing up, but continuously throughout one
others life. Another common inconspicuous idiosyncrasy is rivalry. Rivalry is often associated in
competition including sports, events, and mostly a trait that seems siblings are born with. The urge to
be the best at something or to be noticed is commonly seen in children, especially the ones similar in
age that always strive for attention. In this story, Wolff includes

Cormac McCarthy s No Country for Old Men Essay
Ignorant souls will probably tell you that No Country for Old Men is a film of thirst for blood,
material wealth and a sheriff s investigation. Those that suggest this, however, are the same that tune
in weekly for their dose of Big Brother: The Evictions and are swayed by the words of their local car
salesman. The Coen brothers masterful 2005 adaption of Cormac McCarthy s No Country for Old
Men is a standout in recent cinema history, pushing aside this year s spit out of Transformers from
explosion junkie Michael Bay. Taking a different approach from their usual quirky, humour films
littered with three word profanities (cue: Burn after Reading Osbourne Cox fans), the Coen s have

In the relentlessly vindictive manner of McCarthy s novel, Bell delivers a welcomed voice of sanity
and justice to the human mind; his old school morals and philosophical reminiscences offering a
sanction in a world dominated by evil. But it is Vietnam Vet, Llewellyn Moss, who levels best with the
audience. Playing the wild card of the three, Brolin delivers a human centre to the film; the man most
identifiable with, even as the odds steepen against him.
As the minutes fly by, unnerving notions about the determined yet futile attempts of humankind to
guide their obdurate fate that serves as an unwelcome side dish to the sachet becomes increasingly
clear. The dominant hunter of the film, characterised by an out of place Mod beetle cut, is the epitome
of the Coens ability to point to biblical themes. Bardem plays the overpowering force that pervades
the audience even when off camera his malevolent presence is constantly felt and the aftermath of his
actions are unpardonably viewable. If the pneumatic hiss of Chigurh s killing device isn t enough to
suggest his vindictive nature, then his sadistic taunting of his prey as he tightens his grip on their fate
undoubtedly solidifies his role as the modern incarnation of the devil. This living prophet of
destruction is watched from afar by disillusioned sheriff, Ed Tom Bell, who struggles to accept his
damned world for the crumbling mess it has become. Bell,

Advantages Of Gender Neutral Bathrooms
Introduction: Arguments refer to exchange of different viewpoints on any topic. Rational argument is
based on sound reasoning and logic and not just meant for convincing others but providing evidence
for the argument. Most arguments are based on rationality where logic and evidence is combined
support the argument.
Definition of terms: Rational comes from the Latin word rationalis, meaning reasonable or logical. If
you re rational, you do things based on logic, as opposed to impulse or whimsy
(http://www.vocabulary.com/dictionary). The question is is it advisable to have gender neutral
bathrooms? Most schools have segregated washrooms, i.e. separate washrooms for boys and girls.
However, I feel that in modern times, it need not be so. Single user bathrooms are meant for use by
one person at a time and multi user bathrooms have stalls that can be used by several people at one
time. Gender neutral bathrooms can be used by anyone. Perhaps gender inclusive would be a better
word to use.

For them, gender neutral washrooms would mean less harassment and discrimination. It can relieve
anxiety and prevent bullying. Young children are capable of identifying their gender and need to feel
comfortable in the school environment. Separate bathrooms for transgender students would highlight
them, increase social bias and make them vulnerable to ridicule and violence. Bathrooms meant for all
genders would help in more equality between the sexes as it would force boys to accept that girls also
use bathrooms and girls would have less fear of boys. Single user unisex bathrooms are acceptable to
many students as it ensures a degree of privacy. Multi user stalls are also used in several schools.

Prompt 3: The central conflict of the book Middlesex by Jeffrey Eugenides is gender identity which is
shown through Calliope s struggle with determining and accepting her true gender as a hermaphrodite.
The conflict also affects other characters as it causes grief, confusion, and leads to. Calliope s first
encounter with her gender identity crisis was when she develops feelings and sexual attraction to the
Object which is stated in Jerome knew what I was, as suddenly I did, too, for the first time clearly
understood that I wasn t a girl but something in between. I knew this from how natural it had felt to
enter Rex Reese s body, how right it felt, and I knew this from the shocked expression on Jerome s
face (375). The experience of having intercourse with Jerome and fantasizing being in Rex s position
shows that Calliope isn t just a female but something in between and that adds more to her suspicion
and confusion of her actual gender. This also affects other characters as it leads up to Calliope having
a sexual relationship with the Object which reveals the Object s true feelings towards Calliope and her
actual sexuality. She also has another encounter with her gender identity when she discovers that she s
biologically a boy who had been raised as a girl. In the file by Dr. Luce, it describes Calliope s
condition with the description As the girl s gender identity was firmly established as female at that

Language helps us make sense of our thoughts. Language is the software that allows our brain to think
the way it does; without language the cerebral cortex lies largely unused (Kirby Goodpaster, 1999, p.
77). Language must be thought of when trying to communicate. Does the person you are
communicating with have the knowledge or have they been exposed to the language so they can
understand what you are trying to say? With the many languages in the world, you must be aware that
some words do not translate to other languages. When this happens, one must think critically on what
other words can be used or other ways to communicate. Using pictures or gestures can help with
communicating ideas.
How does language empower or limit the expression of our thoughts? At times, everyone becomes
speechless. Our thoughts are scrambled and we are unable to express ourselves. At other times,
language empowers us to communicate our thoughts and ideas in a way to persuade others to action.
The more language we learn about and are exposed to the more we can use it to our advantage. Using
our knowledge of language to express ourself more clearly to get a point across.
What is the role of critical thinking in persuasion? When persuading someone you must first think of a
way to understand how the other person is thinking. Try to see the problem from their point of view.
Once you understand their position, then think of a reason for that

Creating A Skilled Baseball Player
Practice makes perfect, however, the skills are required to receive intensive training in order to be a
skilled baseball player. Practice makes perfect meaning the more you do something, the better you will
become at it. There are three essential ways of training to build my skills as a baseball player: batting a
baseball is a tough skill to grasp, catching a fly ball is a very difficult thing to do, and running the
bases are critical skill to develop. Everything is tough when I started to play little league baseball at
age of nine. Meanwhile, it takes me three years to make it perfect. Perfection is almost impossible to
accomplish, but perfection is impossible without practice. Firstly, batting a baseball is a tough skill to
grasp. In my first year, my batting was terrible and I had only one hit in twenty games. During the off
season, I took a lot of time to practice on batting from the baseball field, batting cage, and batting tee
with my head coach. My head coach wants me to work on my weaknesses such as watching the ball

United States. Today, about 70% of typical Ford vehicle comes from parts, components and services
purchased from external suppliers. Even white collar jobs and design of future vehicles are also

product overseas. This involves manufacturing products outside United States where the labor cost is
cheaper. Because of cheap labor, it is often more economical for a U.S. company to manufacture
overseas and pay the shipping costs than to manufacture in the United States. For a company, the
savings may be substantial. However, there are negative impacts on U.S. employment, as many jobs in
the United States are being outsourced and replaced by overseas positions. The manufacturers

What Is The Influence Of The Cosby Show On American Culture
The Cosby show created a deliberately positive image of blacks thus the decision for Claire Huxtable
to be shown as a lawyer and Cliff Huxtable being portrayed as a doctor. When The Cosby show made
its debut in 1984 it was the first television show to show a successful upper middle class black family.
Until that point blacks in television were only portrayed as maids, servants, and janitors. The Cosby

stereotypes that plagued America. The Cosby Show empowered black Americans and instilled a sense

Democratic And Republican Analysis
The election and how government officials are elected is vital to the United States identity as a
Democratic Republic. To fully understand whether the election is fair to the average American citizen,
these four things need to be looked at and understood; the Democratic and Republican platforms and
who the reader agrees with, the procedure and requirements for getting on the ballot to be elected into
the House of Representatives, the many different parties of the United States, and the requirements
and procedures for running for president. After each of these questions are acknowledged, it can be
easily inferred that the current election system that is in place, is fair to American citizens.
When analyzing the differences between the platforms of the Democrats and Republicans, there are
six key issues that differ: wages, education, foreign policy, gun laws, health care, and the size of
government. The issue of wages is most clearly seen in the issue of minimum wage in that Democrats
believe that the current minimum wage is a starvation wage and must be increased to a living wage.

Dangers Of Food Poisoning
Each year there are 76 million cases of food poisoning in the US and most go unreported. Food
poisoning and foodborne illnesses are more of a threat than many people think. The CDC reports that
about 325 thousand people are hospitalized each year due to food poisoning and 5,000 people die
every year. For many people they do not even know that they are eating tainted or contaminated food.
The biggest thing that people can do is to wash their foods thoroughly and cook foods all the way
through. Harmful microbes can only be correctly killed using heat, whether it is washing your foods
correctly of cook them all the way. Food borne illnesses are on the rise and they need to be stopped so
that people can eat food without the worry of whether what they are putting in their mouths is tainted
or contaminated (Food Poisoning).
One dangerous and common foodborne illness that many in the US are affected by each year is E.
Coli. E.coli or Escherichia coli is a bacterium that is found in the intestines of mammals and birds.
About .1 percent of all bacteria in the intestines is E. coli, most E. coli help with digestion and

Is Scott s Fitzgerald s life Reflected in the Character of Jay Gatsby?
After conducting a through investigation on the author of the Great Gatsby, Scott Fitzgerald, one may
say that the protagonist of this novel is a very clore representation of the author, himself. There are
numerous and meaningful similarities between Jay Gatsby and Scott Fitzgerald s life, and all of them
are far from being coincidence.
Their similarities begin in their background. Scott Fitzgerald and Jay Gatsby are from middle class
families and had the opportunity to attend two of the world s most prestigious universities, Oxford and
Princeton, but failed to graduate from either of them. Both of them also attended the army, and left it
without any remarkable ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A huge aspect that shows how alike Gatsby and Fitzgerald really are is money. As said before both of
them were from middle class families so obviously had to worry about money. Both of them also did
things that were shameful for them just in order to make money. Their ways were very different,
Gatsby was involved in illegal deals, such as selling alcohol, and Fitzgerald just sold some of his very
short stories to magazines. As much as they seem very different actions, the meaning is the same, both
of them compromise their moral, believes and even themselves for money. And both Scott and Gatsby
accredit those actions to their ladies.
The collapse of the dream for both of them meant the end of their life, for Gatsby this statement was
literal because after Daisy left George Wilson murdered him. For Fitzgerald it was somewhat
different. After Zelda cheated on him they grew very apart and not long after she had a mental
breakdown, was in and out of hospitals on a regular basis and their lives completely change after it. So
one might say that that was the end of his life. A few years after he became sick and died even before
Zelda.
In the surface there are uncountable things that make Gatsby and Fitzgerald very alike: such as weekly
parties in their houses, going to the army, being wealthy But on the inside, on the bottom there are
more important things such as Daisy and Zelda, their love for money, and the collapse of their dream
that really make

Stock Characters In The Princess By William Goldman
According to Dictionary.com, a stock character is defined as a character in literature, theater, or film
of a type quickly recognized and accepted by the reader or viewer and requiring no development by
the writer . Stock characters are widely seen as stereotypical and cliche. This simple and standard type
of character is well known and reappears throughout literature, no matter the time period or genre. A
common stock character is the damsel in distress. This is an age old example of a stock character and
can be found in countless stories, fables, myths, and novels, dating back to some of the earliest pieces
of literature. A damsel in distress is typically an unmarried woman in some sort of trouble who is in
need of saving. She is often times trapped, lost, and hopelessly passive. She requires a savior to rescue
her from the grave danger in which she has found herself in. When all hope seems to be lost, this
knight in shining armor enters the scene in a blazing trail of glory, saves the dame, defeats the villain,
and usually ends up with her in the end. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Chronic Care Model Essay
Student comments in this section
1a. Study Problem The cost of heart failure in the united states was 37.2 million in 2009 and expected
to rise to 69.7 million by 2030, mainly due to readmissions. Heart Failure readmissions are
preventable if patients have better self management skills. Programs using multidisciplinary teams and
in person communication have shown to lead to fewer HF readmissions. Patients can learn about
medication adherence, sodium intake, and self care skills. (Smith et al., 2015, p. S25)
Purpose Smith et al. (2015), The purpose of this article is to (1) describe key SMAC HF group clinic
interactive learning strategies, (2) describe resources used in the group clinic appointment, and (3)
present results supporting this patient centered group intervention. (Smith et al., 2015, p. S26)

Domestic Violence Against Women in Canada Essay
Introduction Intimate partner violence has been a significant issue for centuries in all countries. Since
1974, nearly 2,600 spousal homicides have been recorded in Canada (Bunge, 2002). Of these
homicides, more than three quarters have been against women. Although through feminism and the
women s liberation movement, there has been a slight improvement in the incidences of violence
against women, there has also been a drastic change in the perception of the issue by society. After
reviewing the most recent literature on violence against women and victimization through intimate
partners, it has become prevalent that there are now two crucial stances that are taken. The first
position is that of the women being victimized as the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For example, changing nature of intimate relationships, increasing gender equality, legislative
changes, policy and procedural changes, etc. (Bunge, 2002). Between 1974 and 2000, the homicide
rate for women decreased by 62% and the homicide rate for men dropped by more than half 55%
(Bunge, 2002) which demonstrates the drastic decline in intimate partner violence including
homicides. Secondly, one of the general concepts behind the literature examined would be the idea
that intimate partner violence is now going through a process of normalization. For instance, popular
women s magazines frame domestic violence in a way that normalizes the victims s responsibility
while ignoring the role of the abuser and society (Berns, 2001). Individuals construct their own
conceptions of what is normal and acceptable. These conceptions, what Cicourel (1968) calls
background expectancies govern all social interaction (Berns, 2001). With the norms that society
creates being the main control of interaction amongst society, it is clear that by allowing the
perspective of intimate partner violence as normal will create unawareness about the issue and may
perpetuate further issues. Women who have respect and power outside the home through community
activities, including participation in microcredit schemes, are less likely to be abused than those who
do not (Jewkes, 2002).

The Significance Of African-Americans In Film
When a person reaches that point where life has drugged them through the mud merely for the color of
their skin, will shelter these feelings and allow them to manifest at a point, as with the case with
Victor. Why was it so important for the POC in the film to be understood by white men in the group?
Briefly discuss any experiences you have had which would confirm or contend with this felt need.
People of color, specifically African Americans, need to be understood. This is the only group in the
room that does not have an identity. When looking at the group, each man could relate to their original
culture, for example, Lee Mun Wah and David Lee are Chinese descent, Yutaka (Japanese), Hugh
(Mexican/Irish) and Roberto (Mexican/Latino/Chicano), Gordon (European/German), and David C.

Comparing Lord Of The Flies And Seize The Day Essay
First and foremost, the books Lord of the Flies by William Golding and Seize the Day by Saul Bellow
are related in concept, theme, and depth. In fact, these novels consist of characters that could relate to
one another in their personal struggles. Although the characters have much in common, their present
environment forces them in different ways to work and talk with people they don t enjoy being
around. Because of this, there is a common disposition of darkness. Despite their many similarities,
there are different themes present. In Lord of the Flies, the focus is on the boy s strange environment
that forces them to work together and evokes fear which doesn t turn out well for their prosperity. This
is because a couple of the kids make choices that wrongly affect the island s turnout. Similarly, Lord
of the Flies and Seize the Day consist of characters with darkness of the heart and mind, and these
people affect everyone around them. In comparison, these texts both consist of deplorable characters
that only look to benefit themselves. Conversely, Seize the Day centers around inner struggle and

The Main Types Of Market Research
Introduction
For this first assignment I will provide a manual that shows the main types of market research. Market
research is the method of gathering and analyse information about customers, competitors and the
market. Market research is used when companies want to focus on things like market trends, customer
habits and lifestyle, what price customers will pay for a product and what competition exists. This
type of research assists companies build an idea on how competitive the market is also business
owners can price their products efficiently with the understanding of the current market research.

Eg: changing the price of a product and seeing what happens. The advantages of using experiments is
that you can create real world, concrete and verifiable findings that can be repeated. This is the most
believable way for a general populous to accept a finding of a research team. There are also
disadvantages like high costs of performing experiments and it can also be dangerous. In addition,
experimentation can involve a long period of time waiting for something to happen; oftentimes,
multiple trials are needed to confirm findings.
3. Surveys, surveys are one of the most frequently used methods of market research. It typically
involves the use of a questionnaire (enquette). There are several ways of conducting a survey, I chose
for face to face. This is the best form of contact. It allows two way communication between researcher
and respondent. Eg: A questionnaire asks people in the streets a few question/opinion. The advantages
of using surveys is that it is flexible, gestures, facial and other expressions may be noted. The
disadvantage of face to face is that it may become distorted as a result of the interpersonal
relationships between interviewer and interviewee

two main sources of secondary research are: 2 types: internal (Information that

Heraclitus Metaphors
Heraclitus said, We can never step into the same river twice, for different water is ever flowing (12).
In this maxim, Heraclitus is comparing a river to one s life. As a river continues to flow and change,
time continues to pass by, changing lives as well. He uses this metaphor in order to emphasize the
constant nature of change. Montaigne confirms this maxim in his writings through the use of various
examples and metaphors. Firstly, Montaigne writes about the movement of time and how it never
stops flowing. He says, time is a mobile thing, which appears as in a shadow, together with matter,
which is ever running and flowing, without ever remaining stable or permanent (Montaigne 555).

Circumstances are always changing as time passes, which can have large effects on various things
such as the reliability of a plan. As time passes, circumstances change, causing something that might
have seemed viable in the past, seem not as viable in the present. This proves that change is ever
present and can impact even the simplest of things. Similarly, Montaigne writes all judgements in
gross are loose and imperfect in order to showcase how even ideas can never be perfect and constant
because they are always changing (Montaigne 876). Ideas will always be unfixed and flawed for time
will always change depending on various circumstances, once again confirming how change impacts
everything, both tangible and intangible. In addition to examples, Montaigne uses metaphors to
confirm the constant change in this world. He writes about a soldier who was carrying a load of wood
that his hands became stiff with cold and stuck to his burden, so that they remained there attached and
dead, having separated from his arms (Montaigne 875). The arms are a representation of one s life,
while the load is all the obstacles one has to bear through and

Oven Persuasive Essay
Before you bake anything, your oven needs to be heated to its proper temperature. It takes only a few
seconds to turn on your oven, but it takes several minutes for it to reach the right temperature. Turning
on your oven and letting it heat up to the right temperature is known as preheating. Most recipes
require you to turn your oven on first, before starting to cook.
First you should consider preheating your oven before starting your recipe. Electrical ovens often need
10 to 15 minutes before they reach the proper temperature. This is usually enough time for you to
prepare your recipe. If it takes more than 15 minutes in which to prepare the food, then consider
starting the oven half way through the prepping process.

Note that items such as cakes, cookies, and cupcakes should be placed in the middle rack, unless the
recipe states otherwise.
Turn on the oven and set it to the right temperature. To get the right temperature, you will need to refer
to your recipe. The oven temperature is usually at the very beginning of the recipe, its the very first
step.
Wait for the oven to reach the desired temp. Most ovens have a setting that lets you either see the
current temperature or it will beep when ready. Some ovens have a little light that turns on when it is
the right temperature. This light is usually next to the oven temperature dial.
Consider using an oven thermometer. in some cases the temperature inside the oven is not very
accurate and does not actually match the temperature on the dial. An oven thermometer, which is
usually placed inside the oven, will tell you the actual temperature. Refer to this thermometer instead
of waiting for the indicator light to go on or for when the oven to beep.

There are many ways in which we can view the history of the American West. One view is the popular
story of Cowboys and Indians. It is a grand story filled with adventure, excitement and gold. Another
perspective is one of the Native Plains Indians and the rich histories that spanned thousands of years
before white discovery and settlement. Elliot West s book, Contested Plains: Indians, Goldseekers and
the Rush to Colorado, offers a view into both of these worlds. West shows how the histories of both

Drastic changes occur in the flora due to weather and subsequently lead to the disappearance of many
animal species and with these changes, the people adapted. For thousands of years the plains would
evolve, change and create a, history of movement and adjustment, crisis and resolution . One extreme
change for the Indians was the arrival of Anglo Europeans. Native peoples lives were changed at the
blink of an eye while new ideas, practices and beliefs were shown to them. The arrival of the
Europeans changed the way the Indians viewed their world and manipulated their resources. This new
change could be viewed as positive as well as negative, for while some tribes entered into trade

Trunk Movement Analysis
In relation to trunk movement and this week s forum, I chose to write about the sit up. The sit up is
commonly implemented to tone and strengthen the abdominal muscles as an endurance training
exercise. Within the exercise, you are strengthening the rectus abdominus along with engaging the
internal and external obliques. Your rectus abdominis attaches to ribs 5 through 7 and starts at your
pubic bone while stretching, in a straight line, upwards to your ribs. It is activated every time your ribs
are brought towards your thighs. It is also accountable for guiding the tilt of your pelvis and the
curvature of your lower spine. Your obliques, on the other hand, consist of the lateral abdominal
muscles and promote flexion, rotation and bending of the spine Nevertheless, because of the sit ups

it s important to recruit others to help. Be sure the members of the organization are invested in
sponsoring the event. They will be more likely to follow through and participate in all the planning
details if they feel a sense of ownership for the event. Designate a chair person for the event to

The Uses Of Sidewalk Safety By Jane Jacobs
Urbanism was developed in the early 19th century. Within architecture discourse, the characteristic of
urbanism is the interaction of town and city dwellers with the built environment. The concept was
explained as the association of the social, civil and cultural with the environment.
In a book The Uses of Sidewalks: Safety , by Jane Jacobs, she abstract that her basic notions of what
makes a neighbourhood a community and what makes a city livable . She stated that Great Cities are
not like towns, only larger. They are not like suburbs, only denser . In her perspective of view, the
great cities are differ from towns and suburbs in basic ways, they are full of stranger. Strangers are not

ABSTRACT The Radio frequency identification (RFID) technology has been broadly adopted in
access control systems. This technology is based on the use of a card or tag and has some major
drawback or weaknesses that is anyone could get access when he or she steals the card. In this
particular paper, the RFID technology is combined or integrated with facial recognition (biometric)
technology to make sure that the granted access matches the user ID on the ... Show more content on

The RFID technology consists of three key elements: RFID tags, RFID readers, and a back end
database server to identify information. The RFID tag stores its particular ID and some application
data for RFID readers thus the tag contains electronically stored information which is used for access
control system. The major advantage of using the RFID tag is that it allows convenience contactless
access. However, the traditional RFID based access control system identifies an individual only by
means of his or her RFID card that is anyone who presents a registered RFID card will pass the
authentication even he/she is not the genuine card holder or owner. Moreover, there are many RFID
attacks which are:
Sniffing this is reading data from a RFID chips without being given a permission;
Spoofing this is the cloning of information from one chip to another
Tracking this involves the tracking of goods or services without acknowledging the owner.
Denial of Service this involves the jamming of RFID signals to block its normal

in New York City, on Broadway. They are a successful restaurant, mostly due to their singing waiting
staff and their unique style and set up. They serve classic American meals and old fashioned creamy

Social London s West End theatres have a very, almost posh stigma surrounding them. However, this
sort of image is being removed from the area as theatres are seen as less exclusive and are attracting a
different, more diverse type of clientele. However, the prices can still feel slightly high; as standard
tickets can range from £30 to £60 with the more prestigious tickets going for prices of £90 and even
more. Prices like these, even the lower ones, may discourage people with lower disposable incomes
from visiting the area and to find a cheaper alternative, such as local, smaller theatres meaning that
there would be fewer tourists around in the area. Other factors than ESD should look at are how the
culture differs in the UK compared to their home market of the US. In general, portions are smaller
which means that their new potential customers will eat less during their meals. This could lead to
more waste being generated from leftover food, this means that the Diner would be overspending on
ingredients. If they take this into account properly, then they can make sure they order the right
amounts of food in an attempt to reduce waste. Also, due to smaller portions, the dietary requirements
of British people are generally healthier and they may not be enticed by classic American foods. The
West End is also seen as a place of classic British culture, and an American

Colonialism And Imperialism
The country s history begins when the Maya Empire first colonized the area and flourished until about
AD 800. (culturegrams.com) One of their greatest accomplishments in Honduras was the city of
Copan, a city that was abandoned by the Maya people, and eventually became a colonist magnet for
the area when imperialism in Spain took off. Honduras was first inhabited by Spaniards after
Christopher Columbus landed on the Northern Coast of Honduras under the control of the Spanish
King and Queen in 1592. Explorers such as Henry Cortez and Cristóbal de Olid explored the country
and formed colonies. (nationsonline.com) Around this time imperialism already began to affect the
native people already there. The formation of colonies caused conflicts as the nationalistic and racist
ideas the Europeans had were harmful and inconsiderate of the native peoples ways. An example of
this was the battle at Comayagua between the Lenca Indians and the Spanish settlers. This battle was
fought by the Lenca Indians in an attempt to stop further expansion of the Spanish ways and
exploitation of their native culture. The arrival of the Spaniards and their colonization set the scene for
a slippery slope of imperialism s negative effects that were to come. Fast forward to 1821, when
Central America gained their independence from Spain. When they were granted independence Spain
was in shambles to due to France successfully taking over in 1813. (history.com) Since Spain was
taken over and controlled by another country and one that had turned on them after being an ally they
were not too concerned with their colonies overseas due to the Napoleonic Wars. The colonies didn t
benefit France and their battles in Europe so they were granted their independence without a fight. The
brush off of these potentially new countries, did not set them up for a successful future. It left them
without much guidance and caused power struggles throughout the area, all due to the cut off of the
previous imperialistic ways. With no larger country to help them with their creation of a new country,
Honduras went through a couple more name changes and political power discrepancies.
Just after these Central American countries were granted independence, what is

Chapter 5: Creating Applications using AngularJS, Entity Frameworks, and ASP.Net MVC , focuses
on how to connect to database using Entity Framework. In this chapter we will discuss how to create
Web API using ASP.Net MVC and how to consume these Web API with AngularJS. This chapter
organized as follows.
Using Entity Framework o Creating a data model from existing database
Creating Web API using Visual Studio o Working with JSON Object in ASP.NET MVC using Angular
Using Angular JS with ASP.NET MVC o Sending and Receiving JSON Object to Angular JS
Using Entity Framework
ActiveX Data Objects (ADO), in .Net framework ADO.Net is a set of classes to expose the data
access services for .Net framework developer. ADO.Net contains the set of components to create
distribution and data sharing applications. Using ADO.Net we can create front end database clients
and data access layer to use by the application. ADO.Net frequently used the application developer to
access database in relational database systems such as SQL, Oracle and so on.
ADO.Net is very powerful framework to use for accessing data. It has been in the market since many
years. ADO.Net Entity Framework is an enhancement to traditional ADO.Net, which enable developer
to develop data access application by using a conceptual data model instead of directly connecting to
the relational database. With Entity Frameworks, the amount of code and the maintenance required for
data oriented application significantly will be

Unit 1 Assignment 1 Case Studies Of Endearment
Endearment, something that endears: an action or utterance showing affection and to makes dear,
esteemed, or beloved. These terms all have a positive connotation and are seen in an affectionate view
when used in any setting. In comparison, the n word is defined as a contemptuous term used to refer to
a person of any racial or ethnic origin regarded as contemptible, inferior, ignorant, etc. and a victim of
prejudice similar to that suffered by blacks; a person who is economical, politically, or socially
disenfranchised. These two words are in no way viewed, in the literary sense, on the same end of the
spectrum yet in this particular article those involved see them as interchangeable. The feelings and
emotions that accompany this term are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I would establish a discussion forum that addressed both this particular racial slur and others in the
classroom setting. I would first gather resources and research relating to specific race relations and
racial slurs in the environment and the challenges that have been presented. Secondly, I would request
assistance in establishing a board/forum of students, teachers, administrators, and parents who would
be willing to discuss this issues collectively with positive results being the ultimate goal. I would
utilize this forum on a regular basis and not just during periods of tension. Keeping communication
open about these types of situations takes some of the apprehension and anger out of them when they
present themselves in our everyday lives. My rationale in this is that the challenges that face society
today are hindered by silence. When a person or group feels that they do not have a voice, it hinders
their ability to participate actively and productively in these types

A large number of competitors especially from Wintel (Windows Intel) family create a red ocean for
Apple. Wintel platform is not produced by single firm rather than combination of firms. These
competitors offer similar product to apple with only little different in features, brand and design.
Several Apple competitors are IBM, HP, Compaq, Dell, Lenovo, Gateway, Acer, Fujitsu, Sony, ECS,
Toshiba, etc. Strong bargaining power of suppliers creates high cost of computer components. As there
is only small number of processor suppliers (e.g. Intel, AMD, Cyrix, and IBM) and only small of them
has capability and willingness to provide the best for Apple, the bargaining power of supplier is high
to the Apple. This condition made the price of processor component is high. At the other side, the
great number of competitors with similar product specification and the birth of Internet are also
strengthening the bargaining power of final consumers. This limits the ability for Apple set price too
high. Low threats of substitute product also characterize the industry. Besides Wintel personal
computer, there are no pure substitutions for Apple personal PC. Since Wintel personal computer is
the same kind of product with Apple, it is considered as rivalry instead of product substitution.

Thesis: The Japanese aesthetics of irregularity and simplicity manifest in the artistic creations in
calligraphy, make up brushes and pottery. Through an examination of the both the process by which

This idea fosters love for creating and exploring and discovering new methods of art. The art is
elegant unpretentious and yet highly complex. The accidental beauties of calligraphy are the puzzle
pieces to the artist s soul. The viewer identifies the differences in the art and recognizes the parts of
the artists. Each complex irregularity is a complex characteristic of the artist. The irregularities of
calligraphy are complex yet the art is simple. The paradoxical art of simplicity and complexity centers
itself to communicate the self expression of the artist.
Paragraph2: Calligraphy Simplicity
Starting with the simple structure of a brush, and a hand made paper, a calligrapher can create
anything he or she desires. The Japanese atheistic of simplicity is present within the tools. Each tool
has one simple job, however, no brush or paper is made the same as well as the artists who use them.
In Hannah s pecha kucha, she explains the beginning of the process of calligraphy. Hannah mentions
the importance of the brushes in calligraphy and their connection to simplicity. She analyzes,

Daniel Kaffee, Lt. Commander JoAnne Galloway, Colonel Nathan R. Jessep, and Lance Corporal Harold Dawson. Five themes that the movie dramatically displayed were how plea deals were done, the respect judges get, the responsibilities of a judge, the responsibilities of a defense attorney, and it also showed very little of what a bailiff does in the courtroom. Over 90% of convictions are from negotiated guilty pleas. They help avoid court and a lot of paperwork lawyers may have to do which gives them more time to focus on cases that are bigger and more serious. In the movie, Captain West stated to Lt. • 8. Essay on The Rich Brother by Tobias Wolff The short story, The Rich Brother, by Tobias Wolff represents the same concept that everyday people all over the world encounter. This portrays how having siblings can be an enormous part of a persons life. The rivalry between siblings is often very competitive, but at the same time similar to magnets. When they are not connected it may seem they are independent and whole, but when examined closely it is obvious they are really relying on each other to function properly. Although Pete and Donald s life are separate and completely different, they are in fact very dependent on each other. The meaning of dependence is the act of being influenced, relying on, or needing someone for aid or support. Dependence is one of the main ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Even thought Pete does not show caring emotions, his actions say all the words. For example: Donald said, Pete do you ever dream about me? Pete replied with, What kind of question is that? Of course I don t dream about you. He said untruthfully. (pg.367). This is one of the only parts in this short story that shows the reader a very small part of Pete s soft side. Another example compares in a similar way that Pete does in fact have a connection with his only brother Donald. There was something wrong with me, and you were helping me out. Taking care of me. Just the two of us. I don t know where everyone else was supposed to be. Pete said. (pg. 369) If someone were to analyze only this part of the story it would portray that in his dream he depended on Donald. When he says it was just the two of them, it gives the reader an idea that was the way it was supposed to be, that Pete didn t need anyone else in the world to help him but only needed the person he could truly rely upon. Dependency is one of the main concealed habits between siblings, not only growing up, but continuously throughout one others life. Another common inconspicuous idiosyncrasy is rivalry. Rivalry is often associated in competition including sports, events, and mostly a trait that seems siblings are born with. The urge to be the best at something or to be noticed is commonly seen in children, especially the ones similar in age that always strive for attention. In this story, Wolff includes ... Playing the wild card of the three, Brolin delivers a human centre to the film; the man most identifiable with, even as the odds steepen against him. For instance, popular women s magazines frame domestic violence in a way that normalizes the victims s responsibility while ignoring the role of the abuser and society (Berns, 2001). Individuals construct their own conceptions of what is normal and acceptable. These conceptions, what Cicourel (1968) calls background expectancies govern all social interaction (Berns, 2001). With the norms that society creates being the main control of interaction amongst society, it is clear that by allowing the perspective of intimate partner violence as normal will create unawareness about the issue and may perpetuate further issues. Women who have respect and power outside the home through community activities, including participation in microcredit schemes, are less likely to be abused than those who do not (Jewkes, 2002). ... As a river continues to flow and change, time continues to pass by, changing lives as well. He uses this metaphor in order to emphasize the constant nature of change. Montaigne confirms this maxim in his writings through the use of various examples and metaphors. Firstly, Montaigne writes about the movement of time and how it never stops flowing. Other factors than ESD should look at are how the culture differs in the UK compared to their home market of the US. In general, portions are smaller which means that their new potential customers will eat less during their meals. This could lead to more waste being generated from leftover food, this means that the Diner would be overspending on ingredients. If they take this into account properly, then they can make sure they order the right amounts of food in an attempt to reduce waste. Also, due to smaller portions, the dietary requirements of British people are generally healthier and they may not be enticed by classic American foods. • 44. Colonialism And Imperialism The country s history begins when the Maya Empire first colonized the area and flourished until about AD 800. (culturegrams.com) One of their greatest accomplishments in Honduras was the city of Copan, a city that was abandoned by the Maya people, and eventually became a colonist magnet for the area when imperialism in Spain took off. Honduras was first inhabited by Spaniards after Christopher Columbus landed on the Northern Coast of Honduras under the control of the Spanish King and Queen in 1592. Explorers such as Henry Cortez and Cristóbal de Olid explored the country and formed colonies. (nationsonline.com) Around this time imperialism already began to affect the native people already there. The formation of colonies caused conflicts as the nationalistic and racist ideas the Europeans had were harmful and inconsiderate of the native peoples ways. An example of this was the battle at Comayagua between the Lenca Indians and the Spanish settlers. This battle was fought by the Lenca Indians in an attempt to stop further expansion of the Spanish ways and exploitation of their native culture. The arrival of the Spaniards and their colonization set the scene for a slippery slope of imperialism s negative effects that were to come. Fast forward to 1821, when Central America gained their independence from Spain. When they were granted independence Spain was in shambles to due to France successfully taking over in 1813. (history.com) Since Spain was taken over and controlled by another country and one that had turned on them after being an ally they were not too concerned with their colonies overseas due to the Napoleonic Wars. The colonies didn t benefit France and their battles in Europe so they were granted their independence without a fight. The brush off of these potentially new countries, did not set them up for a successful future. It left them without much guidance and caused power struggles throughout the area, all due to the cut off of the previous imperialistic ways. With no larger country to help them with their creation of a new country, Honduras went through a couple more name changes and political power discrepancies. Just after these Central American countries were granted independence, what is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

ADO.Net contains the set of components to create distribution and data sharing applications. Using ADO.Net we can create front end database clients and data access layer to use by the application. ADO.Net frequently used the application developer to access database in relational database systems such as SQL, Oracle and so on. ADO.Net is very powerful framework to use for accessing data. It has been in the market since many years. ADO.Net Entity Framework is an enhancement to traditional ADO.Net, which enable developer to develop data access application by using a conceptual data model instead of directly connecting to the relational database. With Entity Frameworks, the amount of code and the maintenance required for data oriented application significantly will be ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

I would utilize this forum on a regular basis and not just during periods of tension. Keeping communication open about these types of situations takes some of the apprehension and anger out of them when they present themselves in our everyday lives. My rationale in this is that the challenges that face society today are hindered by silence. When a person or group feels that they do not have a voice, it hinders their ability to participate actively and productively in these types ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

A large number of competitors especially from Wintel (Windows Intel) family create a red ocean for Apple. Wintel platform is not produced by single firm rather than combination of firms. These competitors offer similar product to apple with only little different in features, brand and design. Several Apple competitors are IBM, HP, Compaq, Dell, Lenovo, Gateway, Acer, Fujitsu, Sony, ECS, Toshiba, etc. Strong bargaining power of suppliers creates high cost of computer components. As there is only small number of processor suppliers (e.g. Intel, AMD, Cyrix, and IBM) and only small of them has capability and willingness to provide the best for Apple, the bargaining power of supplier is high to the Apple. This condition made the price of processor component is high. At the other side, the great number of competitors with similar product specification and the birth of Internet are also strengthening the bargaining power of final consumers. This limits the ability for Apple set price too high. Low threats of substitute product also characterize the industry.
