As such, our company s people resources pose the greatest risk for security breach. Our way to help
mitigate risk in this area is to keep communication lines open in this area and to continually mandate
security knowledge training, with mandatory updates on a regular basis. When the employees are
informed of company policy when facing a security matter, they are better equipped to act in the best
or right way. In this way knowledge is power or at least empowerment to act in the best interest of the
company s information security.
Risk Assessment Insights
In the table above, an Asset Inventory and Risk Assessment is displayed for our local Customer Care
operations. The assets considered are our local IT representative, our contracted security officers, our
local HR representative, our annually mandated information security training, our PeopleSoft
software, our networked servers, our customer services database and application, and our employee
database system. The asset value for each is listed based on the annual cost to the company for one
local call center operation. The IT Rep and HR Rep values are based on annual salary for having one
full time equivalent of each available Monday through Friday. The Security Officer value is based on
having two and a half full time

The Keystone Xl Pipeline Is The United States National...
The second reason for the immediate approval of the Keystone XL Pipeline is the United States
national security risk that results from the dependence on foreign oil, lack of jobs and supply of oil.
The United States has been dependent on the unstable Middle East for the past few decades as one of
their limited sources of oil. It is a necessity to empower ourselves and relieve the constraints of OPEC
off the United States. OPEC, the organization that controls the oil prices and how much oil is
produced, has members that are the largest oil producers in the world and most of them reside in the
Middle East. OPEC can lower the production of oil, which will result in an increase in oil prices.
Everything economically revolves around the price ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One example of how the United States dependency on foreign oil affects us is the situation in Iran.
Iran is building a nuclear power plant, but that goes against the world law for Iran. Iran has threatened
the world with the use of nuclear weapons and the creation of a nuclear power plant could help
achieve those threats. The United States is struggling to deal with the actions of Iran because of the
large amounts of oil they produce and export. They United States has to act on their own because the
countries within the European Union do not want to upset Iran and compromise one of their supplies
of oil. Many countries are taking advantage of their access of fossil fuels and going against United
States foreign policy. However, if the United States controlled their own supply of oil they would be
able to handle problems in the way that best suits them and the rest of the world. Another way that
would ensure the United States national security is allowing ourselves to regulate how the crude oil is
refined and guarantee clean oil is provided to consumers (About the Project). We would be able to
control the way the oil is refined because the Keystone XL pipeline goes from the tar sands of Alberta
directly to the refineries in Steele City, Nebraska. With the most up to date technology the once toxic
tar sand oil would be converted to the pure oil like that oil refined from the

Lieutenant General Saint And His Command Sergeants
In early 1986, Lieutenant General Saint and his Command Sergeants Major, Command Sergeants
Major Horvath, identified the need to establish an elite organization to recognize stellar Non
Commissioned Officers. These Non Commissioned Officers are those who have demonstrated
excellence in performance and leadership abilities that resemble those of other influential NCO s. A
special group that needed a figure head that all members could emulate and strive to act in accordance
with. This figure head could be none other than Sergeant Audie Murphy.

The support of the club has given back to all areas of influence including schools, cemeteries,
businesses, and programs such as the Warrior Outreach. The club has been involved with many
outstanding events such as feeding the homeless; providing gifts for under privileged kids; partnering
with local schools to help establish a positive foundation for the youth through interaction; clearing
and cleaning overgrown cemeteries with the preservation society; and assisting with the restoration of
homes belonging to citizens in the area. One of the most interesting things that the club does that
should never go unnoticed is empowering and providing great leaders with an outlet to be able to do
these amazing things. Individuals will struggle to find a way to make a difference in the community,
but when like minded individuals come together the opportunities seem to present themselves in
abundance. This is why I want to become a member of the SAMC. To be able to give back to the
community that has given so much for its veterans. To be able to surround myself with motivated,

Treadwell s Relationship With Animals In Literature
Human beings have always looked for similarities between themselves and other people as to gain
common ground. However people also attempt to make connections between themselves and the more
primal parts of nature. Animals have been along side people for centuries and them being by our side
we ve assigned them certain traits and meanings as an attempt to connect with them on a deeper level.
The Egyptians treated felines as almost gods in their culture because, after domestication, they killed
vermin which helped crops grow. That praise evolved into worship, and gave felines new meaning
among human beings. In many ways humans change animals to suit their purposes in literature and as
to allow us to more finely tune our imagination to the lives of animals. Human beings don t have any
idea what it s like anymore to be one with their natural surroundings which is why we focus so
intently on relating to the lives of animals. The more we try to become kindred with animals, the more
definitive the relationship between humans and animals becomes. Our relationship is almost anything
we decide it to be on our end of it, but as for the animals they seem to fairly indifferent. We can say
whatever we want to say about our own relationships with animals, but they re not going to ignore
their own primal instincts no matter what we say. This is demonstrated through Timothy Treadwell s
experience with the grizzly bears in Alaska. Treadwell truely believed to be a kindred spirit with the

Great Gatsby Film Analysis
The Great Gatsby film shows a strong atmosphere and the soundtrack is perfectly combined with a
script that despite being able to be topical, just winning the game to what we believe will be pure
routine film. 3D for this adaption of The Great Gatsby, although modern, is unnecessary. 9 out of 10
star rating? I think yes!
The tempo of the story is true success, and Leonardo DiCaprio, spotless, we enter into a New York
post war fantastically. Moreover, the dialogues are superb, and above all, they are no better than Tobey
Maguire. Australian screenwriter, producer and director Baz Luhrmann s fifth feature film which he co
wrote with Australian screenwriter Craig Pearce and co produced, is an adaptation of a novel from
1925 by American author F. Scott Fitzgerald.
The Great Gatsby, set in New York 1922, is narrated by Nick Carraway (Tobey Maguire), and is a
story about the millionaire Jay Gatsby (Leonardo DiCaprio), who desperately tries to recover the one
person he ever loved, Daisy Buchanan (Carey Mulligan). She is married somewhat happily to Tom
Buchanan (Joel Edgerton), also another very rich fellow. The other characters consist of professional
golfer Jordan Baker (Elizabeth Dibicki), Tom Wilson (Jason Clarke), a gas station owner, and his wife
Myrtle (Isla Fisher.) When Nick moves next door to Gatsby in West Egg, he is eventually invited to
one Gatsby s famous parties and the story takes off. For those of you who have not read the book, I

Oppression and Spiritual Deterioration in William Blake s Poem London
London
I wander thro each charter d street, 1
Near where the charter d Thames does flow, 2
And mark in every face I meet, 3
Marks of weakness, marks of woe. 4
In every cry of every Man, 5
In every Infant s cry of fear, 6
In every voice, in every ban, 7
The mind forg d manacles I hear: 8
How the Chimney sweeper s cry 9
Every blackning Church appalls, 10
And the hapless Soldier s sigh, 11
Runs the blood down Palace walls. 12
But most thro midnight streets I hear 13
How the youthful Harlot s curse 14
Blasts the new born Infant s tear, 15
And blights with plagues the Marriage hearse. 16 ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The groups (Church, Palace, Husbands) are chastised by Blake for their contractual interest in others,
but lack of responsible concern.
In lines three and four, the author begins to point out the visual evidences of society s spiritual
malaise. Blake uses the word mark several times to show the reader the problems he sees have
outward signs marks of weakness, marks of woe. In stanza two, Blake leaves the visible evidence for
the audible evidence, and we begin to hear the groans of a fallen world. Man and infant cry one in
experience, one in innocence yet, both in a fallen world, both raising a pained voice. From line three
on, the poem is filled with mournful, weary, destructive sounds the pounding out of the mind forg d
manacles ; the sad weep! weep! of the chimney sweeper (Blake 33); the dying soldier s sigh; the harlot
s explosive, withering curse. All of these sounds contribute to the picture of society reeling in the
deadly stages of metastasizing cancer.
Repetition is at its most concentrated use in stanza two where the word every is used five times (seven
times overall in the poem). Blake certainly wants the reader to know that the signs of oppression and
slavery are everywhere and on every face no one is exempt.
In line seven, Blake again skillfully uses a word with multiple meanings. Ban can be a curse,
condemnation, marriage proclamation, or young French soldier. As a

Utilitarianism Is Fair Right Or Wrong
R. M. Hare is a Professor at Oxford University that specializes on the topic of Moral Philosophy.
Among his studies as a philosopher, he proclaims that moral philosophy depend on the meaning of
philosophy itself. For instance, if philosophers have tried to clearly certain concepts presented in life
so does moral philosophy. In other word moral philosophy is where the problems on which it tries to
shed lights are practically issued about morality . So philosophers would question the idea of what is
fair , right or wrong and so on.
Throughout the interview with R.M. Hare on the topic of moral philosophy with the interviewee
Bryan Magee, Hare repeatedly goes back to the idea of utilitarianism and how the benefit of one thing

Pacifism is when a person is not in favor of fighting, violence, and/or war. For example, if a group of
bullies, let s say two to three, sees a person, that they know is a pacifist, and start throwing punches.
The people will most certainly not stop pouncing the guy until they are satisfied. Additionally,
Professor Hare claims that pacifism is unjustified, and as such they contain flues in them that makes
them unjust. An example that was stated in the reading, regards the predicament of a pacifist during a
state of war. In a state of war, usually the male adults would go to the battlefield, whereas the elders
and females stay and contribute within factories, medical camps, etc. However, Hare believes that, for
example, If the American government, or anybody else, had a principle which required them to do that
kind of thing, then this was an argument for abandoning the principle. And I think that they would
have abandoned it if the had... (P.139). Thus, Hare believe that such a principle is bound to end. As his
example state that during a war that is when people s duty as citizen comes to play, and in such a state
people are bound to break their principle, such as pacifism, and follow their duty. Furthermore, Hare
claims, on page 140, that the consequences of pacifism is that, everybody in my position...have such a
principle would be much worse that the consequence of having the principle which I do in fact have,
which allows me to fight in certain war (P.140). So, in times of need, such a principle will end up
misleading and at such principles as pacifism, people s actions will be unjustified. Ultimately, the
practice is not boundless to

Catastrophe Of Rats
The large, diabolical, disease carrying rodents can be found all around the world. The multiple species

mysterious creatures. The worldwide catastrophe of rat infestations is causing humans to consider
what is the cause, how is it affecting the society, and how the crisis can be solved. To begin, the
influence of rats converging to the human world is being caused by harsh weather and overabundance

fake food or poison. These ways are most common because of how simple it is to accomplish and that
it can be very effective. Another way to prevent rats is to take away what they are seeking to get, for
example in source 2 it states, Dr Belmain says that, when the rats come, some people simply do not
bother planting crops. They just accept that it is pointless. The quote is showing how farmers and
citizens are lowering the usage of food by not producing it. By using this method, it causes there to be
no food for the rats to come after. To sum it up, preventing rat infestations is possible and the society
has come up today with multiple ways to avoid unsuspected

External Forces Of Walmart
Environmental forces can have just as big of an impact on any industry as internal forces. It is
imperative that the management of a companies both big and small pay attention to environmental
forces. The reason being is that unlike internal forces, companies have little to no control over
environmental forces. External forces are outside factors or influences that can affect the growth,
operation, or survival of a corporation. To have a better understanding of external forces, one can refer
to Porter s Five Forces. Porter s Five Forces are perfect examples of environmental forces that can
affect the growth, operation, or survival of a corporation. Porter s Five Forces identifies competition in
the industry, power of customers, power of suppliers, threat of substitute products, and potential of
new entrants into the industry as five external forces that shapes every industry. (Investopedia) In this

industry. The United States has one of the most diverse food retail industry with several major chains

Two Examples Of Black Power-Era Nationalism In Hip Hop Nas

Hearing Loss Association Of America
Background Hearing loss is one of the most common physical conditions in the United States. It has
been referred to as an invisible condition, as we can t see it occurring; all we see is the effects of it
(Hearing Loss Association of America). The severity of the loss can range in the classifications of
mild, moderate, severe, or profound. It can also occur in just one ear, or both. Hearing loss can occur
at any age. People can be born with deafness (which is known as congenital hearing loss), or lose their
hearing over a gradual period of time. Causes of why hearing loss occurs vary per person. The most
common cause of loss is noise and aging. Buildup in the air, injury, ear infection, rupture eardrum are
other causes as well. For children who suffer from hearing loss, most are born with it. Today, in the
United States, every two thirds of every one thousand children are deaf or hard of hearing (Hearing
Loss Association of America). This causes their everyday lives to be shaped much differently than
normal children. They may have cochlear implants to help them hear. In fact, In the United States,
more than 25,000 children have received cochlear implants (Lenihan 2010). The child may also have a

Organizational culture
Organization culture comprises the deep, basic assumptions and beliefs, as well as the shared values
that define organization membership, as well as the member s habitual ways of making decisions, and
presenting themselves, and their organization to those who come in contact with it.
Clegg, Kornberger and Pitsis, 2008
The dictionary definition of a culture is the ideas, customs, and social behaviour of a particular group
of people or a society . An organisation is made up of individuals and the culture of an organization
defines how things are done in an organisation and what behaviour and actions are considered as

Thus the culture of an organisation has an influence and to an extent acts as a driver for everyone who
forms a part of an organisation whether it is at an individual level or a group level. This view is
supported by Harrison and Stokes when they say that
Culture impacts most aspects of organizational life, such as how decisions are made, who makes them,
how rewards are distributed, who is promoted, how people are treated, how the organization responds
to its environment, and so on (9)
In fact, these assumptions, beliefs, norms and values which are shared by the organisation s members

Organisational cultural is in every sense just that, a culture. So not only does it act as an internal
binding force which keeps the organisation together and in harmony, but it also defines how an
individual should present himself and his organisation when he represents it. For example Price
Waterhouse Coopers takes pride in the ever increasing diversity of its workforce and works to instil
the idea of flexible but diligent working. This ideology could be considered as values forming part of
PWC s organisational culture. So whenever an employee comes in touch with a client these values

Family Values In Death Of A Salesman, By Steve R. Centola
Summary and Analysis of Family Values in Death of a Salesman by Steve R. Centola
Death of a Salesman by Arthur Miller is interpreted differently by many people. In the critical review
titled Family Values in Death of a Salesman by Steve R. Centola, he characterizes Death of the
Salesman as am a modern tragedy. He draws more focus on the family core values and self exert. In
his analysis, he states that as the humans try to be competitive, they have dehumanized the American
dream and have turned it into an urban nightmare. He claims that the author simply tells a story of a
dying man who wants to justify the purpose of his life before he meets his death. He states that the
consequences of his choices are a challenge he has to overcome to attain what he needs. Centola
points out that through the realization of what Willy Loman values, it is easy to discover the reason for
the conflict between him and Biff. He refers to Death of a Salesman as a tragedy of a human struggle
that is rooted in the metaphysical and also based on the social and psychological concerns. He also
asserts that by discussing the values of Willy Loman, readers will be able to identify the reasons
behind Willy s agenda to perform suicide.
In his review, Steve appears to be more instructive on the way we approach the drama. In most of the
analysis he asserts the role of elaborating the scenes and giving a summary of what went on the
different acts. He also does criticize and uphold some of the decision which were taken by the author
of the story. Steve Upholds to the readers on the best areas and identifies different parts in the drama
that would be assessed.
He begins by highlighting the ways that Willy Loman views himself and how they ultimately affect
his life negatively. Willy often acts and dresses a creatin way to keep up this persona of a successful
business. However, when he looks into the mirror he sees a completely different image of himself.
Willys sees himself as a man who is very foolish to look at (1443), and he often tries to cover up his
insecurities by lying to himself and his family. He lies to cover up the fact that he is not happy with his
life, and feels that he has not accomplish enough. Ironically, it is these

A Study Of Ecology And Its Effects On The Environment
Competition in ecosystems has become central to the study of ecology, and has been implicated as a
major factor behind the patterns of species abundance and distribution. Though often studied together,
abundance and distribution are two distinct designations, abundance being the density of a species in a
given area, and the spatial arrangement of that species in an area is referred to as the distribution
(Brown, 1984). In ecological terms competition refers to a fight between two organisms, of the same
species or different, for a limiting resource, leading often to an adverse effect on one or both organism
(Birch, 1957). When one of the organisms in the competition out competes the other for the desired
resource this results in a negative ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is important to emphasize that exploitation and interference competition mechanisms can be
intraspecific or interspecific, thus are classified as real competition, while apparent competition is
typically only of the interspecific type (Birch, 1957). With that said, of all forms competition,
interspecific competition, the competition between two or more species, has been studied most
intensively as cause behind patterns of distribution and abundance within populations of species.
However, there has been much disagreement regarding the prominence of interspecific competition in
natural environment, and whether it actually effects the abundance and distribution of species. In this
paper the history and application of interspecific competition, along with a common model used to
illustrate it will be evaluated, through their use in various ecological researches.
History of Interspecific Competition Though the study of ecology is a relatively new science, the
earliest records of competition in biology and in the environment can be traced back to Charles
Darwin (Park, 1954). Darwin, the father evolution, placed great emphasis on the importance of
competition, specifically interspecies competition, in the process of natural selection and species

King Leopold II Of Belgium Colonized The Congo
King Leopold II of Belgium colonized the African country of Congo with the help of American
explorer Henry Stanley. Leopold desperately wanted the Congo to expand his small territory and to
secure his place in the world. To do this, he sent Stanley to gain treaties from tribe leaders in the
Congo River basin, from 1875 to 1884. Stanley succeeded in obtaining signatures through a
combination of trickery and force. Ever since then, the Congo was dealt a low blow by invidious,
violent takeovers. Leopold s ruthless reign lasted from 1885 to 1908, and then the Belgian government
took over for nearly five decades. The Congo gained complete independence from Belgium in 1960,
but still has a long way to go in order to become strong again. Overall, ... Show more content on

According to a report from the World Bank in 2015, the Congo is among the poorest countries in the
world. In contrast, a Congolese refugee of the Casement Report released in 1904 informed of the
brutality their family were subject to by Belgian soldiers. They recounted that We had to go further
and further into the forest... without food... we starved....leopards killed some of us... and others got
lost or died from exposure and starvation... soldiers said: Go! You are only beasts yourselves.
Additionally, another refugee from the same report disclosed that troops would often kill the
Congolese for the sake of rubber. Once, a soldier, pointing to a basket, said... look, only two hands!
That s nothing... I brought the white man 160 hands. The hands the soldier was referring to were those
of the Congolese workers who labored in dangerous forests to find rubber. Indigenous people were
denied sustenance, had their hands cut off for amusement, or were shot, at the whims of Belgian
soldiers. The meager wages paid to the Congolese could not be collected while the worker was
recovering from injury, which forced greater poverty to befall the people of Congo in the long run.
When the injury was permanent, such as a severed limb, families lost the little income they had. As a
result, many starved to death. This poverty was then handed down to further generations, creating a
ripple effect that can still be felt today. Over half a century later, Congo is an acutely poor nation. This
is the culmination of violence the Congolese faced during colonization. Without the cruelness of the
Belgian colonists, families would have enough money to buy proper nutrition for themselves, and
many more people would survive. Therefore, the end result of poverty in modern day Congo is a
direct consequence of the savagery inflicted upon the indigenous people during

1.1 The purpose of this report is to compare two pieces of religious art, one being of Christian origin
and the other being of one of the difference major world religions.
1.2 The report will analyse how artwork expresses religious and spiritual concepts, including
enriching the spirt, imparting new meaning, and consolidation of faith with reference to historical and
cultural context.
1.3 The topics of History, Authorship, Audience and Authenticity will be analysed in the report with
reference to figure 1(Christ the Redeemer) and figure 2 (Tian Tan Buddha)
2 Background of Christ the Redeemer
2.1 Christ the Redeemer (figure 1) was first petitioned to be built in 1850 by Pedro Maria in honour of
Princess Isabel, the daughter of Emperor Pedro ll. The project was not approved to be built until 1921
after the separation of Church and State. The statue was determined to be built on the summit of
Mount Corcovado allowing the 98 feet high and 92 feet across to impose itself, to be visible to every
part of Rio de Janeiro.
2.2 On the 4th of April 1922 construction started in commemoration of Brazilian Independence Day,
regardless of the fact that a final design for the statue had not been agreed upon. Brazilian designer
Heitor da Silva Costa was chosen for the unique view of Christ holding a cross in his right hand and
the world in his left. Artist Carlos Oswald guided Silva Costa into designing a Christ that allowed

Film Noir In The Dark Knight And The Third Man
Movies have changed and it appears that less of them fit the classic guidelines of what original film
noir demands. Film noir is defined as a type of crime film featuring cynical and malevolent characters
in an unflattering setting. Such settings may include an ominous atmosphere that is enforced by
shadowy photography and foreboding background music (Dictionary). Accurate portrayals of the
genre include, but are not limited to: Christopher Nolan s The Dark Knight, Carol Reed s The Third
Man, and John Huston s The Maltese Falcon. These films are perfect examples of film noir because
they are stylized crime dramas with similar attributes. I would like to start off with Christopher Nolan
s The Dark Knight. Christopher Nolan did an excellent job of making a film noir with a modern feel.

The most intriguing aspect of the movie is that viewer cannot solely identify who is good and who is
bad . An example of this concept is the Joker (Heath Ledger). The Joker is essentially the villain of the
film. Yet Nolan humanizes the Joker, causing viewers to build a sort of sympathy towards his
character. Another character who exemplifies this is Harvey Dent (Aaron Eckhart). In the beginning of
the movie, Dent is the district attorney who is nobly trying to rid the city of bad influence. Until, he
and his girlfriend Rachel Dawes (Maggie Gyllenhaal) are targets of the Joker. When Batman chooses
to save Dent over Rachel due to limited time, he turns to the dark side and becomes known as Two

What are the economic, social and political reasons for Catalonia s desire to secede from Spain?
Since Catalonia s post Franco reinstatement in 1980, September 11th has been a day to celebrate the
end of the War of the Spanish Succession. La Dia Nacional de Catalunya, or The National Day of
Catalonia, has never been celebrated like it was on September 11th, 2012. An estimated 1.5 million
people demanded independence for Catalonia on the streets of Barcelona, waving the new Catalan
Independence flag. The slogan for the rally was Catalonia, a new European state . In November 2014,

With over 1,000 years of distinct regional history, their own language, a huge population and strong
economy, many Catalan s believe that they are a separate nation already, and want to legitimize it.
Catalan national parties have been a very powerful force in Catalan politics since the reconvention of
the Catalan government, or the Generalitat, in 1977. In 2012, the Generalitat was ruled by the CiU
(Convergéncia I Unió) and Arturo Mas, CiU s leader. Mas s push for an early vote in November 2014
is an example of how Catalan politics are playing a large role in the movement towards independence.
Although many Spaniards argue that Catalonia already has their own regional government, Catalan s
argue that their interests are not properly represented in Madrid. There has never been a Catalan Prime
Minister, and the Catalan s believe that Catalonia will not be served equally under the Spanish
national government.
The objective of my thesis is to better understand the factors that underlie Catalonia s desire to secede
from Spain. Borrowing from academic literature, this thesis will identify the economic, ethnic/social
and political factors that have played a role in the movement towards Catalan independence. The
method for my thesis will be a case study and historical methodology and possibly a non participant

Archetypes In The Mist Analysis
Tragedy can be shown with great archetypes. Director Michael Apted used archetypes in Gorillas in
the Mist to show tragedy. Diane Fossey, the tragic hero is put on a quest after seeing Dr. Louis Leaky s
presentation on Gorillas in Africa. She is called to action but in the end falls to a stronger enemy.
Tragedy can be shown using many different archetypes. One type of archetype used was plot. This is
shown by Diane leaving her normal life. As Diane does by going to Africa to study the Gorillas. These
wild creatures intrigue her. She wants to learn all the have to give. This is her quest and the plot to the

Contemporary Issues Involving Sex Crimes
Contemporary Issues Involving Sex Crimes, Sexual Offenders, and Victims of Sexual Crimes
Heather Anderson
American Public University
Abstract
Sexual abuse is any uncontrolled sexual act in which a person is pressed or physically forced to
engage against their will, or any non consensual sexual touching of a person. A sex offender is a
person who has been convicted of certain sex crimes. A victim of a sexual crime is the subject of
unwanted sexual offenses. In order for sexual activity to be all right, both people must want it to
happen. When any person forces you to participate in any sexual act when you don t want to it is
sexual assault. Physical force is not always used to sexually assault a victim. Most victims are
assaulted by someone they know. Most offenders are male whether the victim is female or male. The
victims of sexual abuse can be males or females of any race, age, social class, appearance, or sexual
orientation. This paper will discuss some of the contemporary issues involving sex crimes, sexual
offenders, and victims of sexual crimes.
Keywords: sex crimes, victims, offenders, abuse, assault
Sex crimes can involve physical contact such as unwanted touching or no physical contact for
example, internet crimes (CSOM, 2006). Sexual abuse is unwanted contact between two or more
adults or two or more minors. Sexual abuse is sexual contact between an adult and a minor (CSOM,
2006). Sexual abuse is any unwanted sexual contact initiated by a

Discovering The Concentration Of Sodium Hydroxide And...
Discovering the Concentration of Sodium Hydroxide and Citric Acid
Introduction:
This laboratory experiment focuses on determining the quantity of a substance that is existing in a
certain solution, by using titration in the experiment, (French et al. 2014). A hypothesis for this
experiment is that the unknown concentration of a solution will be identified. The objectives are to
identify the concentration of citric acid and the concentration of sodium hydroxide in solutions of
unknown concentration. In order to discover the concentration of a solution, acid base titration must
be executed during the experiment, (French et al. 2014). The standard solution (known concentration)
is reacted entirely during titration due to stoichiometry located in the equation, and because the
chemical reaction is between a base and an acid, the products formed from the reaction will be salt and
water, (French et al. 2014). The equivalence point occurring in an acid base titration will have the
same amount of moles in H+ as in OH . The equations that are used for this acid base titration are as
follows:
HCl(aq)+NaOH(aq)→NaCl(aq)+H_2 O(l)
H_2 SO_4 (aq)+2NaOH(aq)→〖Na〗_2 SO_4 (aq)+2H_2 O(l)
To determine the concentration of acid in the solution, the number of NaOH moles supplemented to
equivalence point must be discovered, (French et al. 2014).
Because sodium hydroxide takes in water and is hydroscopic, the discovery of the concentration is
required that sodium hydroxide is titrated against a

Similarities Between Zoroastrianism And Modern Day...
Zoroastrianism is considered one of the worlds oldest monotheistic religions. There are many
similarities between Zoroastrianism and modern day Christianity. The first being that Christianity is a
monotheistic religion as well. Both religions are founded on the basis that there is only one God and
that god created the world, and is omnipresent. Both religions teach their followers to believe that God
is infinite and omnipotent. While followers of Zoroastrianism exalt Ahura Mazda, the deity of
wisdom, followers of Christianity follow Jesus Christ. Both religions also appeal to their followers
sense of humanity by implementing the concepts of heaven and hell as well as giving their followers
the ability to choose between the two options depending on their behavior. In both religions since
followers are giving the option of heaven and hell they both set moral and ethical standards for their
followers and hold them accountable for the decisions they make. The Bible makes reference to this
concept on several occasions including in Deuteronomy 30:19 which states today I set before you the
way of life and the way of death, therefore choose life . Zoroastrianism appears to have been more
lenient in terms of holding its followers accountable for sin and attributes sin to more of an individuals
lack of understanding either themselves or Ahura Mazda. Both Christianity and Zoroastrianism view
death as a beginning or renewal of the soul. The themes of God s judgment for the choices made,
reward for the correct choices, retribution or repentance for choices of a sinful nature, a rebirth or ...

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Film Grain Noise
J. Dai, Oscar C. A., C. Pang, W. Yang and F. Zou [4] proposed technique of film grain noise which is
inherent in analog film stock and is generated in the process of exposing and developing silver halide
crystals. Film grain noise can be modeled as a zero mean Gaussian noise and the noise variance varies
with the intensity of noise free signal. Film grain noise is temporally independent. Film grain noise is
spatially correlated. The higher the image resolution is, the more likely that the viewer will perceive
the film grain noise. For high definition videos, the film grain noise is clearly noticeable, and it is the
essential part of the natural look of the video, thus, it is desired to maintain in the encoded video.

Because the number of skipped blocks increases with increasing QP, the complexity of framework

In rotation, planting different crops can also replenish plants nutrients, thereby reducing the use for
chemical fertilizers. Soil is the most important element for agricultural ecosystems. Healthy soil
comes with beneficial microbes and insects. Unfortunately, these are often killed off by the abuse of
pesticides. Healthy soil can produce strong crops that are less vulnerable to pests. Damaged soils often
need strong fertilizers application to produce a high amount of crops. Soil quality can be amplified in
many ways, including leaving crop remainders in the field after harvest and adding composted plant

damage and consume natural soil. While intensive plowing and monocrop (does not rotate) agriculture
systems have caused nutrient exhaustion and soil erosion. Excessive application of fertilizers and

Henrik Ibsen s A Dollhouse
A Dollhouse is Henrik Ibsen s best known realistic problem play. It is about the debt a wife hides from
her husband, and the escalation of problems surrounding it occurring around Christmas. The play
shocked many viewers because it broke many cultural stigmas at the time. The names, symbols, and
dialogue all contribute to the overall impact of the play.
According to the article, Henrik Ibsen Biography, Ibsen was a playwright born in Skien, Norway as
the oldest of five siblings to Knud and Marichen Ibsen. At the age of 8, Ibsen s parents went bankrupt,
and moved the family ... to a rundown farm near town. At 15, Ibsen worked as an apprentice to a

Christiania (later called Oslo), in 1850 where he was offered the job of writer and manager of the
Norwegian Theatre in Bergen. In 1862, Ibsen left Norway, and moved to Italy, and later Germany in
1868, where he wrote many realistic plays such as Peer Gynt and The Pillars of Society. He wrote his
most famous play, A Dollhouse, in Germany in 1879. After moving back to Norway in 1891, Ibsen

A success of a student relies on a the time spent in school. Anaheim high school students need to have
longer hours in school to study for and get all the help they need and to make that happen there needs
to be less summer vacation my argument is that KIPP students are smart and well educated because
they have long hours of school and study for approximately 2 hours and read and listen to music for
about the same time. Relation of Education Insanity (8). The scores show how students who had

The First Appearance Of Batman Essay
1938 saw the first appearance of Batman. More of a mystery comic than a superhero comic book,
Batman was inherently different from the pure and clean Superman. He was a gritty and depressing
character that has been able to remain in print even to this day. Rather than using superpowers,
Batman uses detective abilities that allowed him to solve cases and find perpetrators. ( The History of
Comic Books. TheComicBooks.com.) But not even Batman, Superman, or even Captain Marvel could
brace themselves for the arrival of the Marvel comics.
Originally under the name of Timely Comics, Marvel was founded by Martin Goodman, who was
contacted by several superhero veterans from Funnies Inc. The Funnies group told him that they
would present to him a prepared, finished comic book every month, for a service fee. So in 1939,
Marvel released their very first comic Issue #1. The story was about the Original Human Torch; who
was an android superhero, the detective Angel, and Namor the Submariner.
In 1940 there was a rise in popularity for patriotic themed superheroes caused by the creation of the
hero the Shield. As a result, in 1941, Jack Kirby and Joe Simon created the second most iconic
superhero in Marvel comics, Captain America. ( Marvel comics database. ) Captain America, whose

Our way to help mitigate risk in this area is to keep communication lines open in this area and to continually mandate security knowledge training, with mandatory updates on a regular basis. • 4. The Keystone Xl Pipeline Is The United States National... The second reason for the immediate approval of the Keystone XL Pipeline is the United States national security risk that results from the dependence on foreign oil, lack of jobs and supply of oil. The United States has been dependent on the unstable Middle East for the past few decades as one of their limited sources of oil. It is a necessity to empower ourselves and relieve the constraints of OPEC off the United States. OPEC, the organization that controls the oil prices and how much oil is produced, has members that are the largest oil producers in the world and most of them reside in the Middle East. Iran has threatened the world with the use of nuclear weapons and the creation of a nuclear power plant could help achieve those threats. The United States is struggling to deal with the actions of Iran because of the large amounts of oil they produce and export. They United States has to act on their own because the countries within the European Union do not want to upset Iran and compromise one of their supplies of oil. Many countries are taking advantage of their access of fossil fuels and going against United States foreign policy. However, if the United States controlled their own supply of oil they would be able to handle problems in the way that best suits them and the rest of the world. Another way that would ensure the United States national security is allowing ourselves to regulate how the crude oil is refined and guarantee clean oil is provided to consumers (About the Project). We would be able to control the way the oil is refined because the Keystone XL pipeline goes from the tar sands of Alberta directly to the refineries in Steele City, Nebraska. With the most up to date technology the once toxic tar sand oil would be converted to the pure oil like that oil refined from the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Lieutenant General Saint And His Command Sergeants In early 1986, Lieutenant General Saint and his Command Sergeants Major, Command Sergeants Major Horvath, identified the need to establish an elite organization to recognize stellar Non Commissioned Officers. These Non Commissioned Officers are those who have demonstrated excellence in performance and leadership abilities that resemble those of other influential NCO s. A special group that needed a figure head that all members could emulate and strive to act in accordance with. This figure head could be none other than Sergeant Audie Murphy. One of the most interesting things that the club does that should never go unnoticed is empowering and providing great leaders with an outlet to be able to do these amazing things. Individuals will struggle to find a way to make a difference in the community, but when like minded individuals come together the opportunities seem to present themselves in abundance. This is why I want to become a member of the SAMC. To be able to give back to the community that has given so much for its veterans. • 6. Treadwell s Relationship With Animals In Literature Human beings have always looked for similarities between themselves and other people as to gain common ground. However people also attempt to make connections between themselves and the more primal parts of nature. Animals have been along side people for centuries and them being by our side we ve assigned them certain traits and meanings as an attempt to connect with them on a deeper level. The Egyptians treated felines as almost gods in their culture because, after domestication, they killed vermin which helped crops grow. That praise evolved into worship, and gave felines new meaning among human beings. In many ways humans change animals to suit their purposes in literature and as to allow us to more finely tune our imagination to the lives of animals. Human beings don t have any idea what it s like anymore to be one with their natural surroundings which is why we focus so intently on relating to the lives of animals. The more we try to become kindred with animals, the more definitive the relationship between humans and animals becomes. Our relationship is almost anything we decide it to be on our end of it, but as for the animals they seem to fairly indifferent. We can say whatever we want to say about our own relationships with animals, but they re not going to ignore their own primal instincts no matter what we say. This is demonstrated through Timothy Treadwell s experience with the grizzly bears in Alaska. Treadwell truely believed to be a kindred spirit with the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. Great Gatsby Film Analysis The Great Gatsby film shows a strong atmosphere and the soundtrack is perfectly combined with a script that despite being able to be topical, just winning the game to what we believe will be pure routine film. 3D for this adaption of The Great Gatsby, although modern, is unnecessary. 9 out of 10 star rating? I think yes! The tempo of the story is true success, and Leonardo DiCaprio, spotless, we enter into a New York post war fantastically. Moreover, the dialogues are superb, and above all, they are no better than Tobey Maguire. Australian screenwriter, producer and director Baz Luhrmann s fifth feature film which he co wrote with Australian screenwriter Craig Pearce and co produced, is an adaptation of a novel from 1925 by American author F. Scott Fitzgerald. The Great Gatsby, set in New York 1922, is narrated by Nick Carraway (Tobey Maguire), and is a story about the millionaire Jay Gatsby (Leonardo DiCaprio), who desperately tries to recover the one person he ever loved, Daisy Buchanan (Carey Mulligan). She is married somewhat happily to Tom Buchanan (Joel Edgerton), also another very rich fellow. The other characters consist of professional golfer Jordan Baker (Elizabeth Dibicki), Tom Wilson (Jason Clarke), a gas station owner, and his wife Myrtle (Isla Fisher.) When Nick moves next door to Gatsby in West Egg, he is eventually invited to one Gatsby s famous parties and the story takes off. In stanza two, Blake leaves the visible evidence for the audible evidence, and we begin to hear the groans of a fallen world. Man and infant cry one in experience, one in innocence yet, both in a fallen world, both raising a pained voice. From line three on, the poem is filled with mournful, weary, destructive sounds the pounding out of the mind forg d manacles ; the sad weep! weep! of the chimney sweeper (Blake 33); the dying soldier s sigh; the harlot s explosive, withering curse. All of these sounds contribute to the picture of society reeling in the deadly stages of metastasizing cancer. Repetition is at its most concentrated use in stanza two where the word every is used five times (seven times overall in the poem). For instance, if philosophers have tried to clearly certain concepts presented in life so does moral philosophy. In other word moral philosophy is where the problems on which it tries to shed lights are practically issued about morality . For example, if a group of bullies, let s say two to three, sees a person, that they know is a pacifist, and start throwing punches. The people will most certainly not stop pouncing the guy until they are satisfied. Additionally, Professor Hare claims that pacifism is unjustified, and as such they contain flues in them that makes them unjust. An example that was stated in the reading, regards the predicament of a pacifist during a state of war. In a state of war, usually the male adults would go to the battlefield, whereas the elders and females stay and contribute within factories, medical camps, etc. However, Hare believes that, for example, If the American government, or anybody else, had a principle which required them to do that kind of thing, then this was an argument for abandoning the principle. And I think that they would have abandoned it if the had... (P.139). Thus, Hare believe that such a principle is bound to end. As his example state that during a war that is when people s duty as citizen comes to play, and in such a state people are bound to break their principle, such as pacifism, and follow their duty. Furthermore, Hare claims, on page 140, that the consequences of pacifism is that, everybody in my position...have such a principle would be much worse that the consequence of having the principle which I do in fact have, which allows me to fight in certain war (P.140). So, in times of need, such a principle will end up misleading and at such principles as pacifism, people s actions will be unjustified. Ultimately, the practice is not boundless to ... Centola Death of a Salesman by Arthur Miller is interpreted differently by many people. In the critical review titled Family Values in Death of a Salesman by Steve R. Centola, he characterizes Death of the Salesman as am a modern tragedy. He draws more focus on the family core values and self exert. In his analysis, he states that as the humans try to be competitive, they have dehumanized the American dream and have turned it into an urban nightmare. He claims that the author simply tells a story of a dying man who wants to justify the purpose of his life before he meets his death. He states that the consequences of his choices are a challenge he has to overcome to attain what he needs. Centola points out that through the realization of what Willy Loman values, it is easy to discover the reason for the conflict between him and Biff. He refers to Death of a Salesman as a tragedy of a human struggle that is rooted in the metaphysical and also based on the social and psychological concerns. He also asserts that by discussing the values of Willy Loman, readers will be able to identify the reasons behind Willy s agenda to perform suicide. In his review, Steve appears to be more instructive on the way we approach the drama. In most of the analysis he asserts the role of elaborating the scenes and giving a summary of what went on the different acts. He also does criticize and uphold some of the decision which were taken by the author of the story. A Study Of Ecology And Its Effects On The Environment Competition in ecosystems has become central to the study of ecology, and has been implicated as a major factor behind the patterns of species abundance and distribution. Though often studied together, abundance and distribution are two distinct designations, abundance being the density of a species in a given area, and the spatial arrangement of that species in an area is referred to as the distribution (Brown, 1984). In ecological terms competition refers to a fight between two organisms, of the same species or different, for a limiting resource, leading often to an adverse effect on one or both organism (Birch, 1957). With that said, of all forms competition, interspecific competition, the competition between two or more species, has been studied most intensively as cause behind patterns of distribution and abundance within populations of species. However, there has been much disagreement regarding the prominence of interspecific competition in natural environment, and whether it actually effects the abundance and distribution of species. In this paper the history and application of interspecific competition, along with a common model used to illustrate it will be evaluated, through their use in various ecological researches. History of Interspecific Competition Though the study of ecology is a relatively new science, the earliest records of competition in biology and in the environment can be traced back to Charles Darwin (Park, 1954). You are only beasts yourselves. Additionally, another refugee from the same report disclosed that troops would often kill the Congolese for the sake of rubber. Once, a soldier, pointing to a basket, said... look, only two hands! That s nothing... I brought the white man 160 hands. The hands the soldier was referring to were those of the Congolese workers who labored in dangerous forests to find rubber. Indigenous people were denied sustenance, had their hands cut off for amusement, or were shot, at the whims of Belgian soldiers. The meager wages paid to the Congolese could not be collected while the worker was recovering from injury, which forced greater poverty to befall the people of Congo in the long run. When the injury was permanent, such as a severed limb, families lost the little income they had. As a result, many starved to death. This poverty was then handed down to further generations, creating a ripple effect that can still be felt today. Over half a century later, Congo is an acutely poor nation. This is the culmination of violence the Congolese faced during colonization. A sex offender is a person who has been convicted of certain sex crimes. A victim of a sexual crime is the subject of unwanted sexual offenses. In order for sexual activity to be all right, both people must want it to happen. When any person forces you to participate in any sexual act when you don t want to it is sexual assault. Physical force is not always used to sexually assault a victim. Most victims are assaulted by someone they know. Most offenders are male whether the victim is female or male. Discovering the Concentration of Sodium Hydroxide and Citric Acid Introduction: This laboratory experiment focuses on determining the quantity of a substance that is existing in a certain solution, by using titration in the experiment, (French et al. 2014). A hypothesis for this experiment is that the unknown concentration of a solution will be identified. The objectives are to identify the concentration of citric acid and the concentration of sodium hydroxide in solutions of unknown concentration. In order to discover the concentration of a solution, acid base titration must be executed during the experiment, (French et al. 2014). The standard solution (known concentration) is reacted entirely during titration due to stoichiometry located in the equation, and because the chemical reaction is between a base and an acid, the products formed from the reaction will be salt and water, (French et al. 2014). The equivalence point occurring in an acid base titration will have the same amount of moles in H+ as in OH . The equations that are used for this acid base titration are as follows: HCl(aq)+NaOH(aq)→NaCl(aq)+H_2 O(l) H_2 SO_4 (aq)+2NaOH(aq)→〖Na〗_2 SO_4 (aq)+2H_2 O(l) To determine the concentration of acid in the solution, the number of NaOH moles supplemented to equivalence point must be discovered, (French et al. 2014). • 34. Similarities Between Zoroastrianism And Modern Day... Zoroastrianism is considered one of the worlds oldest monotheistic religions. There are many similarities between Zoroastrianism and modern day Christianity. The first being that Christianity is a monotheistic religion as well. Both religions are founded on the basis that there is only one God and that god created the world, and is omnipresent. Both religions teach their followers to believe that God is infinite and omnipotent. While followers of Zoroastrianism exalt Ahura Mazda, the deity of wisdom, followers of Christianity follow Jesus Christ. Both religions also appeal to their followers sense of humanity by implementing the concepts of heaven and hell as well as giving their followers the ability to choose between the two options depending on their behavior. In both religions since followers are giving the option of heaven and hell they both set moral and ethical standards for their followers and hold them accountable for the decisions they make. The Bible makes reference to this concept on several occasions including in Deuteronomy 30:19 which states today I set before you the way of life and the way of death, therefore choose life . • 35. Advantages And Disadvantages Of Film Grain Noise J. Dai, Oscar C. A., C. Pang, W. Yang and F. Zou [4] proposed technique of film grain noise which is inherent in analog film stock and is generated in the process of exposing and developing silver halide crystals. Film grain noise can be modeled as a zero mean Gaussian noise and the noise variance varies with the intensity of noise free signal. Film grain noise is temporally independent. Film grain noise is spatially correlated. The higher the image resolution is, the more likely that the viewer will perceive the film grain noise. For high definition videos, the film grain noise is clearly noticeable, and it is the essential part of the natural look of the video, thus, it is desired to maintain in the encoded video. However, the encoding ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Because the number of skipped blocks increases with increasing QP, the complexity of framework becomes relatively high with increasing QPs compared with the unmodified HEVC. item Increasing the sliding step size also reduces the efficiency of the FDF based algorithms. item For example, using a sliding step size of two reduces the complexity by a factor of four and at the same time also the average bitrate savings are reduced by approximately 2%. item Together with the noise estimation process, the complexity of the whole in loop denoising framework is approximately twice the complexity of the interpolation filter, which is especially visible for high QPs in which the motion compensation process dominates the decoding complexity. item The introduced reference frame denoising scheme is not very efficient for high QPs and could therefore be switched ... Making the mistake of getting so stuck in my own thoughts, that I forget the promises of God. I forget that life has it s problems and I will have my stresses, but none of these things are bigger than the creator. I think this temptation is one that many people deal with. Permitting life to get in the way, and divert our attention from God. We become so consumed in our own stuff, that we allow our situations to come between us and the Lord. My feelings are now growing more debout, or more charitable so fix his attention inward that he no longer looks beyond himself to see our Enemy or his own neighbors (Lewis, 26). Screwtape clearly knows exactly what he s talking about when telling Wormwood to use this against the patient. Using his fear of the future, to cloud his mind and overwhelm him. I too have been tempted with this. A specific example was my decision to come to John Brown. I had a lot of uncertainty when deciding to come here, and forgot to listen to the one who could give me peace. Once I got out of my head and onto my knees, I found my way because of ... Soil is the most important element for agricultural ecosystems. Healthy soil comes with beneficial microbes and insects. Unfortunately, these are often killed off by the abuse of pesticides. Healthy soil can produce strong crops that are less vulnerable to pests. Damaged soils often need strong fertilizers application to produce a high amount of crops. Soil quality can be amplified in many ways, including leaving crop remainders in the field after harvest and adding composted plant material (Union of Concerned Scientists) Compared to industrial agriculture, companies continue to damage and consume natural soil. While intensive plowing and monocrop (does not rotate) agriculture systems have caused nutrient exhaustion and soil erosion. Excessive application of fertilizers and pesticides has contaminated soils and polluted waterways (Grace Communications Foundations) Being aware that a farm is an ecosystem rather than a factory can make a farmer more motivated to use natural pest predators. Biological control is a component of an integrated pest strategy. It is defined as the reduction of pest populations by natural enemies and typically involves an active human role (College of Agriculture and Life Sciences) All insect species are also suppressed by naturally occurring ... Anaheim high school students need to have longer hours in school to study for and get all the help they need and to make that happen there needs to be less summer vacation my argument is that KIPP students are smart and well educated because they have long hours of school and study for approximately 2 hours and read and listen to music for about the same time. Relation of Education Insanity (8). The scores show how students who had longer summer schools had a had low test scores and for those students who had less summer vacations and they had better test scores which is pretty impressive. Studying a lot and putting a lot of time in something would make it easier for your brain to function faster because you re constantly thinking. The beginning is hard (9). The beginning is hard but when you try and you challenge yourself you start to believe in yourself and become a successful person. I believe yes it does motivate the students because they look at it as a goal. And it may push them to try harder and be successful. More of a mystery comic than a superhero comic book, Batman was inherently different from the pure and clean Superman. He was a gritty and depressing character that has been able to remain in print even to this day. Rather than using superpowers, Batman uses detective abilities that allowed him to solve cases and find perpetrators. ( The History of Comic Books. TheComicBooks.com.) But not even Batman, Superman, or even Captain Marvel could brace themselves for the arrival of the Marvel comics. Originally under the name of Timely Comics, Marvel was founded by Martin Goodman, who was contacted by several superhero veterans from Funnies Inc. The Funnies group told him that they would present to him a prepared, finished comic book every month, for a service fee. So in 1939, Marvel released their very first comic Issue #1.
