Novel Analysis Of Persepolis By Marjane Satrapi
Truong Dao
Period 4
Persepolis Novel Analysis Why don t some people like to read? That is because they don t like looking
at a wall of texts on each page. Having a book with hundred pages of text and words can cause some
readers to not like reading. That is why many readers prefer reading graphic books or novels.
Persepolis by Marjane Satrapi is a graphic novel about a young girl growing up in Iran during the
Iranian Revolution and the Iran Iraq War. Satrapi choose to tell her story in graphic novel form instead
of normal prose based novel because she want to have the ability to control what image the audiences
see on the page, and with the use simplistic style of drawing with black and white color, makes the
readers feels more connected and understand more of the story. ... Show more content on

In a prose based novel, the author still is able to describe a scene to the audience in some details, but
not everyone will visualize the same image because everyone brains work differently. Some will
visualize the image differently than other, even if the image is only slightly different by a small detail.
But in Persepolis, the author has more power over what appears on the page and what the readers will
visualize because it s in a graphic novel form. For instance, when Marjane is talking to her image of
God, which lends a kind of veracity to her statement: we can at least see that Marji believes she is
truly talking to God. But God is drawn as a large and sizeable figure with long, flowing white hair and
beard, which is very familiar to the figure of God in the Western world

Rosenhan Experiment Essay
Rosenhan experiment The Rosenhan experiment was an experiment into the validity of psychiatric
diagnosis, conducted by David Rosenhan in 1973. The study is considered an important and
influential criticism of psychiatric diagnosis. Rosenhan s study was done in two parts. The first part
involved the use of healthy associates who briefly simulated auditory hallucinations in an attempt to
gain admission to 12 different psychiatric hospitals in five different states in various locations in the
United States. All were admitted and diagnosed with psychiatric disorders. After admission, the
pseudopatients acted normally and told staff that they felt fine and had not experienced any more
hallucinations. All were forced to admit to having a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The hospital staffs were not informed of the experiment. The pseudopatients included a psychology
graduate student in his twenties, three psychologists, a pediatrician, a psychiatrist, a painter and a
housewife. None had a history of mental illness. Pseudopatients used pseudonyms, and those who
worked in the mental health field were given false jobs in a different sector to avoid invoking any
special treatment or scrutiny. Apart from giving false names and employment details, further
biographical details were truthfully reported. During their initial psychiatric assessment, they claimed
to be hearing voices of the same sex as the patient which were often unclear, but which seemed to
pronounce the words empty , hollow , thud and nothing else. These words were chosen as they
vaguely suggest some sort of existential crisis and for the lack of any published literature referencing
them as psychoticsymptoms. No other psychiatric symptoms were claimed. If admitted, the
pseudopatients were instructed to act normally , reporting that they felt fine and no longer heard
voices. Hospital records obtained after the experiment indicate that all pseudopatients were
characterized as friendly and cooperative by staff. All were admitted, to 12 different psychiatric
hospitals across the United States, including rundown and underfunded public hospitals in rural areas,

The Different Levels Of Law Enforcement
The Different Levels of Law Enforcement in the United States There are three different level of law
enforcement within the United States who penalizes citizens who violate them. These agencies include
federal, state, and local law enforcement who conducts operation on different levels. Each law
enforcement agency is assigned specific duties within their jurisdiction. In order to maintain peace and
order within the United States law enforcement officers are called to duty to serve day in and day out
to protect public safety. Some believe that law enforcement is unorganized. However, these different
agencies aide each other in certain situation to makes sure the mission is accomplished. For example,
there are wide ranged federal law enforcement agencies that operate within the United States and
Internationally. They include the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI), Department of Homeland
Security, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I do not think that there should be a specific duty which should be assigned to any agency. They
should maintain cooperation with each other in order to maintain balance and order with their
respective duties in law enforcement.
I think the multiple layers of police agencies within the United States benefits and provides better
outcome for the community as a whole. This has allowed some communities to gain the police trust
making it a part of the solution. However, a regional police force which would include different
participants from all communities could be useful during certain cases. For example, a drug dealer is
wanted in one city and is known to operate elsewhere within the state. The local law enforcement has
a lead but cannot execute a warrant based on the limitation of the authority it has. A special organized
crime unit (regional) could be assembled including the different officers from all communities to serve

Figure 2.0 Flowchart for implementing ISO 9001: 2015
2.1 Flowchart analysis:
Implementing ISO 9001 QMS in an organization begins with the decision to establish the QMS
having appraised the organization. The next step is to get the management involved and committed to
the cause after which an implementation team is setup to manage the process. Most often after this
stage, the management backs off leaving the responsibilities to the implementation team alone causing
challenges in the implementation.
The implementation team then checks the context of the organization against the customer
requirements and defines the organization s quality management standard (QMS) from there. An
awareness campaign is done to inform everyone in the organization about the QMS implementation
and then staff are trained to meet the requirements. Roles are assigned and an operations plan is then
created. At this stage, the process plan is documented and then process is carried on.
An internal audit takes place to check the conformance of the process and products to standards. The
results of the audit are put up for management review and then corrections are made where needed.
External audits also take place and then customer feedback is harvested and put in place for

My Journey to the U.S.A.
If you think adventure is dangerous, try routine it is lethal (Paulo Coelho). I d always liked to travel
but not as much anymore. September 16, 2007 was the most chaotic day of my life. I was 12 years old
when we left Iran. Know let me tell you the events leading you to that day. My parents decide that we
should move to the United State so that way we would be closer to the rest of our family. Okay, now
to the day before chaos began.
Like any other day I woke up and did what most people do in the morning; get dressed and eat. Two of
my dad s friends had come over to help my dad take our luggage to the airport a day before so we didn
t have too much things with us. I remember we were all sitting in the living room and my younger
sister, 7 at the time that just gotten up and walked into the living room with her pajamas on. She had
gotten so scared when she say that we that company over. Her face was so red from embarrassment I
died laughing, I m a good sister, won t you say.
My dad left with his friends to go to the airport. My mom and sister and I went down stairs to our
neighbor s house. Pretty much the last few weeks, we ate eating delicious savory Armenian barbecue.
Since it was the last day we had barbecue with our neighbors. By lunch time my dad had already
gotten home from the airport. My sister, dad, and our neighbor s husband were down in the garage
making the food. The smell of Armenian barbecue is like the smell of pancakes in the

I liked the choreography for this dance because of the use of space and the use of music. An example
from this dance is at the start I like how the music was the music was so perfect for this dance. Also
how they use their space was so perfect to see all of them doing their part.

Deception Of Women In Richard III
A main aspect of Richard s, Duke of Gloucester, personality is his hatred of women, possibly due to
most woman within Richard III holding more knowledge than the men, in regards to Richard s
deceiving nature. The only woman who is outsmarted by Richard is Lady Anne.
Deception, as well as their relationship, is crucial to the overall plot. The character of Lady Anne has
crucial dramatic functions within the play because her character supports Richard s growing reputation
of manipulating and morally wrong motives. When she is seduced by Richard, it shows his success at
manipulation, which eventually does fail in the later acts of the play. After successfully slaying Lady
Anne s husband, King Henry, Richard is still able to gain her hand in marriage using persuasive
language. Through this act, Lady Anne becomes a blocking figure for Richard because he has to
conquer her, but he also has a pre existing disadvantage regarding the situation: Lady Anne is aware
that Richard just killed her husband. Whenever they interact with each other, the use of formal
language is present. Due to this, it has the capability to thoroughly show the tension between them, as
well as Lady Anne s attitude towards him. She tells him Thou mayst be damned for that wicked deed!
(1.2. 102) and then continues by telling Richard that And thou unfit for any place but hell, (1.2. 106)
which isn t only insulting but also portrays him as a supernatural creature for the audience to picture,

A Graveyard in Asheville
For this journal review, I have decided to do a graveyard in Asheville which is very well known. The
cemetery Riverside Cemetery has existed since 1885 and was built by the Asheville Cemetery
Company and in 1952 was sold to the City of Asheville. For this review I ll be focusing on the various
styles of graves seen throughout the cemetery, while also emphasizing the meaning of the different
artistic symbols seen. I ll also make sure to note the significant graves and mausoleums that are home
to some of the most descriptive artwork. The graveyard is home to more than 14,000 graves some of
which carry important meanings or information. I believe graveyards are sacred art museums and
while walking through one provides a much different experience, some similarities are important for
us to see.
The City of Asheville s Riverside Cemetery is located in Montford, less than 2 miles from downtown.
It provides over 87 acres of grounds and is a protected tree area. Today the area operates under the
City of Asheville Parks, Recreation and Cultural Arts Department. Looking through the various
headstones, I can see many similarities among the different symbols. Looking past just the symbols
we can see a level of intricate artwork laid down by the art of hand carving and engraving. Hand
carving and engraving headstones is an ancient practice in which artists and craftsmen have formed
extraordinary memorials from pieces of raw stone.
The craft of engraving headstones over time

Bennett ReissEnglish 1110Primary Source AnalysisIn 2008, Nike posted various advertisements for
their Hyperdunk basketball sneakers across Harlem. These ads were quickly met with heavy criticism,
as many people interpreted the ads as being homophobic. The aforementioned ad features the
offensive player posterizing the defender. In layman s terms, the player with the ball ferociously dunks
on the defender. The position of the two players gets interesting, as the crotch of the offensive player
is essentially on the defender s face. This positioning conceals the majority of the defender s head,
with exception to his hair. Based off of lighting and shadows, the viewer can assume that the defender

I feel like the fact that there aren t any facial features further supports the claim of homophobia, as this
advertisement clearly isn t about basketball. To further the damage, Nike placed That Ain t Right
directly over the the area with the defender s face and the dunker s crotch. The aforementioned
message is written in large, white block letters, essentially taking up about one third of the entire ad.
After putting all of these aspects together, every single time one views this advertisement they are
drawn to the spectacle of the dunker s genitalia in the defender s face. Immediately after registering
this though, they are then drawn to That Ain t Right and that s essentially all there is to this
advertisement. The end product of this advertisement is the viewer seeing a subtly homosexual act and
proceeding to link that concept with That Ain t Right. This advertisement speaks out against the
tantalizing issue of homosexuals in sports, and continues to belittle homosexuals while sending the
message that they don t belong in sports. This is extremely frustrating, as this advertisement represents
the battle that gay athletes have continuously fought, and to this day have made little progress. This
issue is extremely political, especially in the world of sports. Players should be given equal
opportunities, regardless of their sexual orientation. If the player is talented enough to compete at the

Five Platonic Solids
The Five Platonic Solids The five platonic solids are the tetrahedron, cube, octahedron, dodecahedron,
and the icosahedron. They are named for the Greek philosopher Plato. Plato wrote about them in The
Timaeus (c.360 B.C.) in which he paired each of the four classical elements, earth, air, water, and fire
with a regular solid. Earth was paired with the cube, air with the octahedron, water with the
icosahedron, and fire with the tetrahedron. The fifth Platonic solid, the dodecahedron, Plato says that,
...the god used for arranging the constellations on the whole heaven . Aristotle later added a fifth
element, the ether and postulated that the heavens were made of this element, but he had no interest in

Some people credit Pythagoras with their discovery. Others say he may have been only familiar with
them and that the octahedron and icosahedron belong to Theaetetus. Theaetetus was the first to give a
mathematical description of all five and could have been responsible for the first piece of proof that no
other regular polyhedra are out there. A net is the shape that is made by unfolding a 3D figure. A net is
made up of all the faces of a figure. For a solid to be considered a platonic it needs each face to be a
regular polygon and each vertex must come together because if only two came together the figure
would collapse on itself. The sum of each interior angle of the faces meeting at a vertex must be less
than 360 degrees. A polyhedra solid must have all flat faces, whilst a non polyhedra solid has a least
one of its surfaces that is not flat. Regular means all angles are of equal measure, all faces are
congruent or equal in every way, and all edges are of equal length. 3D means that shape has width,
depth and height. A polygon is a closed shape in a plane figure with at least five straight edges. A dual
is a Platonic Solid that fits inside another Platonic Solid and connects to the midpoint of each

Usage of punctuation marks in academic writing
Introduction
These are symbols which indicate the organisation in written language, structure and the intonation to
be observed in a sentence when it is read aloud. In the written English, It has been necessary to
eliminate the ambiguity existing in a sentence. For this reason, punctuation marks have been in used to
bring out the intended meaning of a sentence rather than the variations that can be gotten from it.
The punctuation practice had not been embraced in fully but not long after printing was invented,
many of these marks have been added till to date. As of now, the number of the punctuation marks has

The hyphen ( ) also known as the en dash. It is slightly the width size of an n and it is slightly long
when compared to a hyphen. It is used in joining compound modifiers having open compound
elements. E.g. In the New York city, the guy was named in the latest journal produce by the leading

used when expressing time periods. E.g. He will be in Nigeria in the time between Jan May this year.

Research Paper On Audio Steganography
Abstract Abundant use of electronic communication has paved way for transmitting information

negligence, in desire to enclose the latest technological inventions. This measure may have drastic
effect on human conception to the positioning of application, which needs a determined concern in
terms of security. Audio steganography is the science of hiding some secret text or audio files in a host

Thus steganography is said to be a covert communication. In contrast to Cryptography, where the
enemy is allowed to detect, intercept and modify messages without being able to violate certain
security premises guaranteed by a cryptosystem, the goal of Steganography is to hide messages inside
other harmless messages in a way that does not allow any enemy to even detect that there is a presence
of second message [1]. Both steganography and cryptography are meant for secret communication but
the approach is different. Hiding of secret message using steganography can be done in different forms
like text steganography, image steganography, audio steganography and video steganography.
Encoding secret messages in audio is the most challenging task while using steganography because
human auditory system (HAS) is more perceptive than human visual system (HVS) [5]. Thus audio
file is used as a cover file to hide secret data and it is called audio steganography. In Audio
steganography, secret message is embedded into digitized audio signal which results into altering the
binary sequence of corresponding audio file. There are several methods are available for audio

Analysis Of Stop Time By Frank Conroy
Throughout Frank Conroy s life in the novel Stop Time, Conroy faced numerous struggles such as
fatherlessness, desire for distinction, pursuit for peace of mind, Call me Ishmael, and plenty more.
These struggles molded him into the person that he was and throughout the course of his life became
his overall identity. Throughout life, everyone goes through conflicts and hardships that make them
who they are, whether it is in a positive of negative way. Frank s fatherlessness throughout the span of
his life is something that I cannot relate to on a personal level, but can yet contrast the aspects of
having a dependent and influential father figure in one s life, versus the lack of such an important and
crucial person. In the novel Stop Time, the first words that Conroy states to the reader is, My father
stopped living with us when I was three or four (11). Conroy s choice to declare this as the first words
of his memoir reveals the entire foreground as to why Frank is the way he is. From the start, the lack
of Conroy s father caused doubt and lack of self worth inside the mind of Conroy. Without a consistent
and stable father figure whom he can be dependent on, it can hence lessen one s overall opinion of
themselves. From the beginning, when his father left, Conroy struggled with the constant desire to fill
that void and wound that his father had left him. Unlike Conroy, my father has been here for me since
the start. He has impacted my life in numerous ways, and I

The gas pedals was too long and there is a little space between it and the floor mat. In all, there was a
poorly designed floor mat Toyota began a massive recall last year worldwide to fix the problems that
were attributed to faulty accelerators, floor mats getting stuck in gas pedals and brake problems in
Prius hybrids. More than 8.5 million Toyota cars and trucks have been recalled. Drivers have
complained of cars careering out of control at 65mph while overtaking, and negotiating roundabouts
so fast that it felt like their car was on two wheels. A mechanical fault, caused by a combination of
wear and cold and wet weather, Toyota believes, means that the accelerator pedal sometimes sticks
down. Around 10,000 Toyota owners have so far contacted a hotline to air concerns.
Toyota was overwhelmed by massive product recalls and damage to its reputation after questions
over the safety of its cars and allegations that the company did not act quickly enough once problems
had been identified. The problem commenced when one duty police officer and his family back in
August 2009 after their car, a Toyota Lexus, unexpectedly accelerated, crashed into another vehicle,
tumbled over an embankment and burst into flames lead to the death of the man. Initial company
reports identified that the car may have been fitted with the wrong floor mats, which could have
slipped and entrapped the accelerator pedal. The problems began to increase for Toyota.

Quote By. ) David Novak said these words in response to the Holocaust. The Holocaust was the period
between 1933 and 1945 where Adolf Hitler oppressed Jews. The story of the holocaust is told in the
book The Devil s Arithmetic by Jane Yolen. A young girl is sent to Poland after her parents pass. She
recovers for few weeks before being awoken to have the mosque burned and be sent to a concentration
camp. After discovering the harsh reality, she goes for an escape. After being caught, her friends are
sent to the gas chambers. The Holocaust was one of the darkest times in history. A time when Jews,
were inferior, and executed because of it. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

anything they wanted, Jewelry, prized possessions, whatever. The horrors kept mounting up, they

Hadri Homosexuality In Ancient Rome
Hadrian was a Roman emperor who had an intriguing biographical background that after many
centuries fascinates society. Hadrian was known as a compassionate and traveling emperor because he
concentrated on the rebirth of the Roman Empire. He is notable for his passion for Greek art,
literature, philosophy, architecture and more prominently his obsessive infatuation of an otherwise
unimportant man, Antinous.
Hadrian s parent died while he was a child and Emperor Trajan raised him. Young Hadrian grew in
splendor within the walls of the imperial palace and made rapid progress in his career. With success on
his side, Trajan, adopted Hadrian as his son and appointed him successor of the Roman Empire. His
diplomatically arranged marriage to Vibia Sabina was far from a marriage of love and the two ... Show

Social attitudes about homosexuality in ancient Rome differed remarkably to those assumptions of the
contemporary Western civilization. The Greeks and Romans had no concept of homosexuality or
heterosexuality; the ancient world was exceptionally tolerant of homosexuality, or more specifically
bisexuality, as these relationships had been present even in Trajan s reign. Male prostitutes were
appropriately common on the streets, however, what was of great consequence within the sexual
relationship between two men were age and the status of sexual dominance and sexual submission
(Potts). Men were free to take part in sexual behaviors with other men without any perceived loss of
social status, provided that the older male of higher status was in the commanding position. This status
reflected on ones manhood and masculinity, the role of the submissive reduced the passive partner to
the level of a woman (Potts). Nevertheless, Men were still expected to have sexual attraction and
relationships towards women because virility and procreation were important to Roman

Essay on Dupont Divestiture
DuPont s Divestiture of Conoco | Analysis of the Merger | |
DuPont began life in 1802, as a gunpowder manufacturer supplying the US Army under President
Thomas Jefferson. The company had a long tradition of technological innovations in business and it
continues to serve worldwide markets including food and nutrition; health care; agriculture; fashion
and apparel; home and construction; and electronics. Among some of its inventions are nylon
stockings invented in 1939, Teflon for pans, Kevlar for bullet proof vests, stainmaster for carpets, the
synthetic fabric lycra, and Dacron for clothing. In 1999 the company held a portfolio of 2000
trademarks and brands. DuPont was the 15th largest company in the US with its 1998 revenue ...

In order to make the second stage completely tax free DuPont had to satisfy a number of IRS rules and
regulations. These rules stated that DuPont had to control Conoco immediately before the split off,
meaning that it had to control at least 80% of Conoco s stock. In addition the split had to be motivated
by a valid business purpose. Also DuPont had to get rid of all Conoco stock so it would not have any
control over the company after the deal was completed. Conoco had to be recapitalized or reorganized
into two classes of common stock. Class A stock that carried one vote each, issued to the public and
Class B stock with five votes each, retained by DuPont for later disbursement to DuPont shareholders
in the exchange offer. Prior to the IPO, Conoco would have to issue a $7.5 billion promissory note to
DuPont as a dividend. The payment would be tax free to both parties because at the time DuPont
owned all of Conoco. Conoco would in turn, use the proceeds to pay back part of the note and other
intercompany notes with DuPont.
While I do agree with the Chief Operating Officer that a 100% IP of Conoco would raise a significant
amount of cash to use in our core business growth internationally, allowing us to expand our global
operations. I think the equity care out

Appendices 1. Why is it necessary to use cold concentrated HCl? Why is it added in excess?
It is important to use cold concentrated HCl because keeping the temperature of the acid low will
increase the fraction of the SN1 product so to increase the yield. Keeping it cold will help prevent loss
of the volatile product after it is formed.
2. Why is solid NaHCO3 used instead of aqueous NaHCO3?

Persuasive Essay About Friendship
Trying to find a good friend is like finding a four leaf clover; it s hard to find, but lucky to have. The
term friendship is a unique bond between two individuals whether it s a charming boy and a geeky
girl, an elder woman and a young adult, or even between a cat and a dog. Friendship takes no form,
instead it is the individual trust toward others. Dating back to the creation of the human species,
people were familiar with the idea of companionship, in addition of being a companion, it relies on a
sense of comfort and protection. Presently, people still share that bond of comfort and protection
toward others, but the term companionship has changed into what is now known today as friendship.
The world is currently evolving into a digital era, a generation where everyone and everything are
connected by the power of computers, including meeting new people across the world where it s
impossible to meet in person. However, even though it s easily accessible to make friends online, it
can never favor those who live locally. The reason why is because in the digital world, people are
highly deceptive and are limited in communication while in comparison to those who lives locally.
However, it isn t wrong to make friends online, even though, some of them are misleading. It s more
suitable to have friends locally as they have better communication efficiency, living proof of actual
identity, and as well of physically spending quality time together.
Friends who live locally often have

Why I Want To Attend Boarding School
How did I get here? A question that finds its way to the front of my thoughts on almost nightly basis
since I began high school at Phillips Academy. I ponder how my low income, black, public school
educated and sarcastic being was capable of manipulating its way through lengthy admissions forms,
holistic selection committees, and wine up at one of the best high schools in the nation. How?
My braids sink into my pillow each night as this thought crosses my mind. This question is never from
a place of regret for attending boarding school, but a consideration of all of the students who come
from similar backgrounds as I do and why I was the one who made it out. Why is it that I dissected my
on shark in biology class while my friends at home shared the same seven year old textbooks. How
come I have opportunities to travel to different countries while my some of my peers have never left

Michael Jordan is arguable the best basketball player who ever played the game. A phenomenal athlete
with the unique combination of fundamental soundness, grace, speed, power, artistry, and an
unquenchable competitive desire, Jordan single handedly redefined the NBA superstar. The thing that
separated Jordan from the rest of the all time greats was his compulsive need to win. Jordan was and is
still known for his intense competitiveness and will to win, but that has not translated to his ownership
of the Charlotte Bobcats. Jordan burst into the league as a rookie sensation scoring in droves with an

Leading the Bulls to another three peat Jordan retired a second time in 1999 ending his career on a
high note. Labor disputes between NBA players and team owners, and the eventual breakup of the
Bulls dynasty were the reasons he called it quits. After a brief hiatus from basketball Jordan returned
to the NBA in 2000 not as a player, but as part owner and president of basketball operations for the
Washington Wizards. His record as the president of the Washington Wizards was horrendous. His time
running the Wizards began in 2000, and he had the final say in personnel matters, such as drafting
mega bust Kwame Brown with the number one pick in 2001. Seeing the rise of young stars like Kobe
Bryant, Allen Iverson, and Tracy Mcgrady, and the decline of his status as a player Jordan decided he
wanted to return to the court. The next year he began comeback number three. After two disappointing
seasons with the Wizards Jordan retired for the last time in 2003. Assuming he would get his job back
as the team president, but after doing such a terrible job at team management and evaluating talent

Serbia To Blame For World War One
Serbia holds the majority of the immediate blame for World War One breaking out while the majority
of countries and empires were to blame for the underlying causes of the outbreak. The agreement of
the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand between the Serbian government and Gavrilo Princip
was the greatest fundamental cause of Serbia being blamed for the outbreak of war. However, the
assassination of one man and his wife was not great enough to start the most heavily weighted war
that the world had ever seen. This is because the tensions had been rising due to the alliances and rapid
growth of the armies between the Triple Alliance and the Triple Entente.

Some countries that had been believed to be neutral, suddenly had a hand alongside their alliances,

Playboy Of The Western World Analysis
There was significant development of Ireland as an independent country in the first few decades of the
twentieth century. Through the examination of Synge s Playboy of the Western World, Shaw s O
flaherty, V.C., and Yeats Easter 1916 and Sixteen Dead Men readers are able to better understand the
violence that allowed for that development to be possible within Ireland at the time. Playboy of the
Western World, published in 1907, is a playwright in which John Millington Synge attempts to define
relevant political violence by highlighting the power of English s rule on the Irish natives. The
protagonist, Christy Mahon, is a murderer of his own father who is driven to tell his story due to the
attention that he is receiving. In almost all cases you would perceive the attention that he is receiving
as negative; however, in this case Christy uses his power of persuasion and desperation of his
audience to be enlightened by his story. Christy begins by labeling his father as a, dirty man, God
forgive him, and he getting old and crusty, the way I couldn t put up with him at all. (75) Christy
begins to talk down t his father almost as if he was a useless authoritative figure much like the role of
the British on Ireland s soil. As his audience listens to his story it becomes more and more embellished
and almost as if the killing was a necessary duty. Act II begins with Christy admiring himself in the
mirror, Didn t I know rightly I was handsome... (83). Christy develops even more

impact of the environment, how they viewed world and my opinion about understanding their story.
The environment of the Mississippi Delta played a huge role of the lives of Hamer and Eastland.
Hammer life was not as great as Eastland going up in the Delta. The Mississippi Delta climate was
warm and humid great spot for soil and growing cotton. For Harmer life was hard such as living,

Biblical Worldview Of Humanity
In this paper I will be comparing the biblical worldview with a non biblical worldview in regards to
humanity. A biblical worldview foundation is Christ and not us perceiving the world. The biblical
worldview is based in our beliefs and seeing the world through Christ s eyes. I will explain different
theories of humanity along with the biblical worldview of humanity. I will provide you with a
Christian understanding of humanity but I will also show differences and similarities to other
interpretations of humanity. The first alternative theory I want to speak about is the Animal Theory.
The animal theory says that the human primarily as a member of the animal kingdom and derived
from some of its higher forms. (Erickson, 2015) This view says that we have and will go through the
same sort of processes as other animals. It mentions that there is only a one degree difference between
animals and us and we will have a similar end. We are not animals because the word of God says Let
Us make man in Our image, according to our likeness. (Genesis 1:26, New American Standard Bible)
If we look at this verse God mentions that we are made on His image. Many argue that the image of
God doesn t necessarily mean that we look like Him physically, but that we carry many of His
qualities like having dominion over animals. But, if we look into this verse God mentions that He has
allowed men to have dominion over animals, an Ape is an animal. Let them rule over the fish of the
sea and over

Crimes against Business
In crimes that are related to business, it s not always the employees of those businesses that that stray
away from their morals, and greed overcomes their judgment. On May 19th 2014, a Brooklyn, N.Y.,
man was sentenced to state prison for orchestrating a bank fraud system with at least two defendants.
The defendants in this case were found to be impersonating people to whom are holders of legitimate
business bank accounts. In their scheme, they were able to steal more than half a million dollars. The
New York authorities sentenced Nurlin Wright, the 35 year old Brooklyn, NY and two other
defendants to racketeering and conspiracy. Racketeering as a federal crime may come with some very
hefty penalties, and especially used in major organized crimes cases. Racketeering is the federal crime
of conspiring to organize to commit crimes, especially on an ongoing basis as part of an organized
crime operation. The Acting Attorney, General Hoffman said in this article, This was a huge bank
fraud scheme in which the defendants attempted to use the casinos to launder the stolen funds. This
case highlights the ever present threat of identity theft and the need for financial institutions, banking
clients and law enforcement to remain extremely vigilant. In this case, the criminals used techniques
such as money laundering to try to hide their illegal activities. According to INTERPOL, money
laundering is defined as any act or attempted act to conceal or disguise the

My School Day Speech
Every day starts the same way. My alarm screeches at me to restart my cycle by getting up. The T.V
from the first floor, always on channel 12, blasts the news about what is happening around us.
Ignoring it as always, I sprint down the stairs into the kitchen to inhale the savory smell. My mother,
who is always on top of things, is preparing my breakfast. Making sure that I can never have a
peaceful breakfast, she ensures that I receive my daily speech. Do not talk to strangers, Rachel. Do not
reveal where my family is from, Rachel. Do not do anything where the police can be involved, Rachel.
Truly, after the hundreds and hundreds of times she has recited this speech, I suddenly lose the
meaning of those statements, but I brush it off and continue my daily round.
To continue my endless sequence, there is school, with teachers teaching the same topics every year,
with textbooks that seem like they were from the 1800 s. It s never something new, nothing relevant. I
always do what I am told, whether it is to answer a question or to explain why I chose that answer or
to always do my homework. I find it easier just to accept whatever is given to you and not fight
against it. Less conflict for myself and other people.
To conclude my school day, I typically take my bus home. Unfortunately, after a jammed locker
incident one day, I missed it.
Oh, so you re still at school? Well, you can call a taxi. Just be careful said my mother worriedly
through the phone. Hurry home. I can never understand why she is always on her toes for the smallest
things. It s a simple taxi ride, what can go wrong?
As I was waiting by the steps of the school, a sleek black car rolled up right in front of the building. I
guess that s the taxi, I thought to myself. Quickly, I walked to the car, opened the passenger door, and
sat inside.
Hello, Rachel, right? You were the one that ordered the taxi? The taxi driver did not seem to move
when he asked, almost like a robot. I hesitantly confirmed with a subtle yes then he drove away from
the school.

With the increase in population the number of passengers willing to travel daily are increasing
abruptly and now the situations are getting that worse. People don t bother about they either have
ticket or not, they knowingly not only entered the train without ticket or unconfirmed, waiting ticket,
but also travel in reservation compartment. Also the bribery and black marketing of tickets are the
very important factor that come into role nowadays and also the numbers of daily up downers either
for job or study has been increased a lot from villages to the nearby major cities. Thus all these
situations leads to an overloaded train, full of extra passengers and causes lots of harm to the railway,
passengers and Indian economy too (Bhatia, Lala, Chaurasia, 2012). I would like to propose some
updates in Indian railway technology and adaptation of these measures will surely help them to
achieve their goals.

A Comparison OfThe Legends Of King Arthur And Merlin
The King Arthur story takes on many perceptions and interpretations. These perceptions and
interpretations can be very different. The show Merlin is an adaptation of the King Arthur story but
Merlin is the main hero in the story not King Arthur. In the book, The Legends of King Arthur and His
Knights, the main hero is King Arthur not Merlin. These two versions both incorporate King Arthur s
last battle but are both very different. Merlin and The Legends of King Arthur and His Knights are
different by Merlin tries to save King Arthur from dying but in the The Legends of King Arthur and
His Knights Merlin is not even mentioned.
The death of Arthur is different in both texts because the show wants to appeal to a bigger audience.
The main difference is that in The Legends of King Arthur, Arthur dies right after he gets stabbed from
Modred, but in the show Merlin, he lives for a another couple of days while Merlin tries to find the
place where Arthur will be saved. Merlin showed Arthur s death the way it did because they wanted
the audience to be on edge. In the show, Merlin is the main hero and reveals that he has magical
powers to Arthur while Arthur is dying. In the book Merlin is never mentioned and never was this
close to Arthur. The show focuses on Merlin being the main hero because they wanted to portray that a
common day person can be a hero. Merlin has magical powers and the show is based off of these
magical powers. For example, in the middle of King Arthur s last

  • 2. Novel Analysis Of Persepolis By Marjane Satrapi Truong Dao Period 4 Persepolis Novel Analysis Why don t some people like to read? That is because they don t like looking at a wall of texts on each page. Having a book with hundred pages of text and words can cause some readers to not like reading. That is why many readers prefer reading graphic books or novels. Persepolis by Marjane Satrapi is a graphic novel about a young girl growing up in Iran during the Iranian Revolution and the Iran Iraq War. Satrapi choose to tell her story in graphic novel form instead of normal prose based novel because she want to have the ability to control what image the audiences see on the page, and with the use simplistic style of drawing with black and white color, makes the readers feels more connected and understand more of the story. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In a prose based novel, the author still is able to describe a scene to the audience in some details, but not everyone will visualize the same image because everyone brains work differently. Some will visualize the image differently than other, even if the image is only slightly different by a small detail. But in Persepolis, the author has more power over what appears on the page and what the readers will visualize because it s in a graphic novel form. For instance, when Marjane is talking to her image of God, which lends a kind of veracity to her statement: we can at least see that Marji believes she is truly talking to God. But God is drawn as a large and sizeable figure with long, flowing white hair and beard, which is very familiar to the figure of God in the Western world ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Rosenhan Experiment Essay Rosenhan experiment The Rosenhan experiment was an experiment into the validity of psychiatric diagnosis, conducted by David Rosenhan in 1973. The study is considered an important and influential criticism of psychiatric diagnosis. Rosenhan s study was done in two parts. The first part involved the use of healthy associates who briefly simulated auditory hallucinations in an attempt to gain admission to 12 different psychiatric hospitals in five different states in various locations in the United States. All were admitted and diagnosed with psychiatric disorders. After admission, the pseudopatients acted normally and told staff that they felt fine and had not experienced any more hallucinations. All were forced to admit to having a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The hospital staffs were not informed of the experiment. The pseudopatients included a psychology graduate student in his twenties, three psychologists, a pediatrician, a psychiatrist, a painter and a housewife. None had a history of mental illness. Pseudopatients used pseudonyms, and those who worked in the mental health field were given false jobs in a different sector to avoid invoking any special treatment or scrutiny. Apart from giving false names and employment details, further biographical details were truthfully reported. During their initial psychiatric assessment, they claimed to be hearing voices of the same sex as the patient which were often unclear, but which seemed to pronounce the words empty , hollow , thud and nothing else. These words were chosen as they vaguely suggest some sort of existential crisis and for the lack of any published literature referencing them as psychoticsymptoms. No other psychiatric symptoms were claimed. If admitted, the pseudopatients were instructed to act normally , reporting that they felt fine and no longer heard voices. Hospital records obtained after the experiment indicate that all pseudopatients were characterized as friendly and cooperative by staff. All were admitted, to 12 different psychiatric hospitals across the United States, including rundown and underfunded public hospitals in rural areas, urban ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. The Different Levels Of Law Enforcement The Different Levels of Law Enforcement in the United States There are three different level of law enforcement within the United States who penalizes citizens who violate them. These agencies include federal, state, and local law enforcement who conducts operation on different levels. Each law enforcement agency is assigned specific duties within their jurisdiction. In order to maintain peace and order within the United States law enforcement officers are called to duty to serve day in and day out to protect public safety. Some believe that law enforcement is unorganized. However, these different agencies aide each other in certain situation to makes sure the mission is accomplished. For example, there are wide ranged federal law enforcement agencies that operate within the United States and Internationally. I do not think that there should be a specific duty which should be assigned to any agency. They should maintain cooperation with each other in order to maintain balance and order with their respective duties in law enforcement. I think the multiple layers of police agencies within the United States benefits and provides better outcome for the community as a whole. This has allowed some communities to gain the police trust making it a part of the solution. However, a regional police force which would include different participants from all communities could be useful during certain cases. For example, a drug dealer is wanted in one city and is known to operate elsewhere within the state. The local law enforcement has a lead but cannot execute a warrant based on the limitation of the authority it has. A special organized crime unit (regional) could be assembled including the different officers from all communities to serve this ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 6. Adventure Is Dangerous, Try Routine It Is Lethal ( Paulo... My Journey to the U.S.A. If you think adventure is dangerous, try routine it is lethal (Paulo Coelho). I d always liked to travel but not as much anymore. September 16, 2007 was the most chaotic day of my life. I was 12 years old when we left Iran. Know let me tell you the events leading you to that day. My parents decide that we should move to the United State so that way we would be closer to the rest of our family. Okay, now to the day before chaos began. Like any other day I woke up and did what most people do in the morning; get dressed and eat. Two of my dad s friends had come over to help my dad take our luggage to the airport a day before so we didn t have too much things with us. I remember we were all sitting in the living room and my younger sister, 7 at the time that just gotten up and walked into the living room with her pajamas on. She had gotten so scared when she say that we that company over. Her face was so red from embarrassment I died laughing, I m a good sister, won t you say. My dad left with his friends to go to the airport. My mom and sister and I went down stairs to our neighbor s house. Pretty much the last few weeks, we ate eating delicious savory Armenian barbecue. Since it was the last day we had barbecue with our neighbors. By lunch time my dad had already gotten home from the airport. Deception Of Women In Richard III A main aspect of Richard s, Duke of Gloucester, personality is his hatred of women, possibly due to most woman within Richard III holding more knowledge than the men, in regards to Richard s deceiving nature. The only woman who is outsmarted by Richard is Lady Anne. Deception, as well as their relationship, is crucial to the overall plot. The character of Lady Anne has crucial dramatic functions within the play because her character supports Richard s growing reputation of manipulating and morally wrong motives. When she is seduced by Richard, it shows his success at manipulation, which eventually does fail in the later acts of the play. After successfully slaying Lady Anne s husband, King Henry, Richard is still able to gain her hand in marriage using persuasive language. Through this act, Lady Anne becomes a blocking figure for Richard because he has to conquer her, but he also has a pre existing disadvantage regarding the situation: Lady Anne is aware that Richard just killed her husband. Whenever they interact with each other, the use of formal language is present. Due to this, it has the capability to thoroughly show the tension between them, as well as Lady Anne s attitude towards him. She tells him Thou mayst be damned for that wicked deed! (1.2. 102) and then continues by telling Richard that And thou unfit for any place but hell, (1.2. 106) which isn t only insulting but also portrays him as a supernatural creature for the audience to picture, more ... • 9. A Graveyard in Asheville For this journal review, I have decided to do a graveyard in Asheville which is very well known. The cemetery Riverside Cemetery has existed since 1885 and was built by the Asheville Cemetery Company and in 1952 was sold to the City of Asheville. For this review I ll be focusing on the various styles of graves seen throughout the cemetery, while also emphasizing the meaning of the different artistic symbols seen. I ll also make sure to note the significant graves and mausoleums that are home to some of the most descriptive artwork. The graveyard is home to more than 14,000 graves some of which carry important meanings or information. I believe graveyards are sacred art museums and while walking through one provides a much different experience, some similarities are important for us to see. The City of Asheville s Riverside Cemetery is located in Montford, less than 2 miles from downtown. It provides over 87 acres of grounds and is a protected tree area. Today the area operates under the City of Asheville Parks, Recreation and Cultural Arts Department. Looking through the various headstones, I can see many similarities among the different symbols. Looking past just the symbols we can see a level of intricate artwork laid down by the art of hand carving and engraving. Hand carving and engraving headstones is an ancient practice in which artists and craftsmen have formed extraordinary memorials from pieces of raw stone. The craft of engraving headstones over time ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Nike Hyperdunk Ad Analysis Gay Page 5 of 6 ZOOM Bennett ReissEnglish 1110Primary Source AnalysisIn 2008, Nike posted various advertisements for their Hyperdunk basketball sneakers across Harlem. These ads were quickly met with heavy criticism, as many people interpreted the ads as being homophobic. The aforementioned ad features the offensive player posterizing the defender. In layman s terms, the player with the ball ferociously dunks on the defender. The position of the two players gets interesting, as the crotch of the offensive player is essentially on the defender s face. This positioning conceals the majority of the defender s head, with exception to his hair. Based off of lighting and shadows, the viewer can assume that the defender is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I feel like the fact that there aren t any facial features further supports the claim of homophobia, as this advertisement clearly isn t about basketball. To further the damage, Nike placed That Ain t Right directly over the the area with the defender s face and the dunker s crotch. The aforementioned message is written in large, white block letters, essentially taking up about one third of the entire ad. After putting all of these aspects together, every single time one views this advertisement they are drawn to the spectacle of the dunker s genitalia in the defender s face. Immediately after registering this though, they are then drawn to That Ain t Right and that s essentially all there is to this advertisement. The end product of this advertisement is the viewer seeing a subtly homosexual act and proceeding to link that concept with That Ain t Right. This advertisement speaks out against the tantalizing issue of homosexuals in sports, and continues to belittle homosexuals while sending the message that they don t belong in sports. This is extremely frustrating, as this advertisement represents the battle that gay athletes have continuously fought, and to this day have made little progress. This issue is extremely political, especially in the world of sports. Players should be given equal opportunities, regardless of their sexual orientation. A net is the shape that is made by unfolding a 3D figure. A net is made up of all the faces of a figure. For a solid to be considered a platonic it needs each face to be a regular polygon and each vertex must come together because if only two came together the figure would collapse on itself. The sum of each interior angle of the faces meeting at a vertex must be less than 360 degrees. A polyhedra solid must have all flat faces, whilst a non polyhedra solid has a least one of its surfaces that is not flat. Regular means all angles are of equal measure, all faces are congruent or equal in every way, and all edges are of equal length. 3D means that shape has width, depth and height. These struggles molded him into the person that he was and throughout the course of his life became his overall identity. Throughout life, everyone goes through conflicts and hardships that make them who they are, whether it is in a positive of negative way. Frank s fatherlessness throughout the span of his life is something that I cannot relate to on a personal level, but can yet contrast the aspects of having a dependent and influential father figure in one s life, versus the lack of such an important and crucial person. In the novel Stop Time, the first words that Conroy states to the reader is, My father stopped living with us when I was three or four (11). Conroy s choice to declare this as the first words of his memoir reveals the entire foreground as to why Frank is the way he is. From the start, the lack of Conroy s father caused doubt and lack of self worth inside the mind of Conroy. Without a consistent and stable father figure whom he can be dependent on, it can hence lessen one s overall opinion of themselves. More than 8.5 million Toyota cars and trucks have been recalled. Drivers have complained of cars careering out of control at 65mph while overtaking, and negotiating roundabouts so fast that it felt like their car was on two wheels. The term friendship is a unique bond between two individuals whether it s a charming boy and a geeky girl, an elder woman and a young adult, or even between a cat and a dog. Friendship takes no form, instead it is the individual trust toward others. Dating back to the creation of the human species, people were familiar with the idea of companionship, in addition of being a companion, it relies on a sense of comfort and protection. Presently, people still share that bond of comfort and protection toward others, but the term companionship has changed into what is now known today as friendship. • 28. Why I Want To Attend Boarding School How did I get here? A question that finds its way to the front of my thoughts on almost nightly basis since I began high school at Phillips Academy. I ponder how my low income, black, public school educated and sarcastic being was capable of manipulating its way through lengthy admissions forms, holistic selection committees, and wine up at one of the best high schools in the nation. How? My braids sink into my pillow each night as this thought crosses my mind. This question is never from a place of regret for attending boarding school, but a consideration of all of the students who come from similar backgrounds as I do and why I was the one who made it out. Why is it that I dissected my on shark in biology class while my friends at home shared the same seven year old textbooks. How come I have opportunities to travel to different countries while my some of my peers have never left the state. Until I discover how to transform the privilege of a first class education into a right for all students, regardless of their socioeconomic status or race, I will stay awake. The injustices surrounding education and the access to opportunities I have been given prevent me from falling asleep with ease most nights. A phenomenal athlete with the unique combination of fundamental soundness, grace, speed, power, artistry, and an unquenchable competitive desire, Jordan single handedly redefined the NBA superstar. The thing that separated Jordan from the rest of the all time greats was his compulsive need to win. Jordan was and is still known for his intense competitiveness and will to win, but that has not translated to his ownership of the Charlotte Bobcats. Labor disputes between NBA players and team owners, and the eventual breakup of the Bulls dynasty were the reasons he called it quits. His record as the president of the Washington Wizards was horrendous. His time running the Wizards began in 2000, and he had the final say in personnel matters, such as drafting mega bust Kwame Brown with the number one pick in 2001. Seeing the rise of young stars like Kobe Bryant, Allen Iverson, and Tracy Mcgrady, and the decline of his status as a player Jordan decided he wanted to return to the court. The next year he began comeback number three. After two disappointing seasons with the Wizards Jordan retired for the last time in 2003. Assuming he would get his job back as the team president, but after doing such a terrible job at team management and evaluating talent team owner Abe Pollin dismissed Jordan. Serbia To Blame For World War One Serbia holds the majority of the immediate blame for World War One breaking out while the majority of countries and empires were to blame for the underlying causes of the outbreak. The agreement of the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand between the Serbian government and Gavrilo Princip was the greatest fundamental cause of Serbia being blamed for the outbreak of war. However, the assassination of one man and his wife was not great enough to start the most heavily weighted war that the world had ever seen. This is because the tensions had been rising due to the alliances and rapid growth of the armies between the Triple Alliance and the Triple Entente. The alliances and neutrality happening between the Triple Alliance and Triple Entente. • 31. Playboy Of The Western World Analysis There was significant development of Ireland as an independent country in the first few decades of the twentieth century. Through the examination of Synge s Playboy of the Western World, Shaw s O flaherty, V.C., and Yeats Easter 1916 and Sixteen Dead Men readers are able to better understand the violence that allowed for that development to be possible within Ireland at the time. Playboy of the Western World, published in 1907, is a playwright in which John Millington Synge attempts to define relevant political violence by highlighting the power of English s rule on the Irish natives. The protagonist, Christy Mahon, is a murderer of his own father who is driven to tell his story due to the attention that he is receiving. In almost all cases you would perceive the attention that he is receiving as negative; however, in this case Christy uses his power of persuasion and desperation of his audience to be enlightened by his story. Christy begins by labeling his father as a, dirty man, God forgive him, and he getting old and crusty, the way I couldn t put up with him at all. (75) Christy begins to talk down t his father almost as if he was a useless authoritative figure much like the role of the British on Ireland s soil. • 33. Biblical Worldview Of Humanity In this paper I will be comparing the biblical worldview with a non biblical worldview in regards to humanity. A biblical worldview foundation is Christ and not us perceiving the world. The biblical worldview is based in our beliefs and seeing the world through Christ s eyes. I will explain different theories of humanity along with the biblical worldview of humanity. I will provide you with a Christian understanding of humanity but I will also show differences and similarities to other interpretations of humanity. The first alternative theory I want to speak about is the Animal Theory. The animal theory says that the human primarily as a member of the animal kingdom and derived from some of its higher forms. (Erickson, 2015) This view says that we have and will go through the same sort of processes as other animals. It mentions that there is only a one degree difference between animals and us and we will have a similar end. We are not animals because the word of God says Let Us make man in Our image, according to our likeness. (Genesis 1:26, New American Standard Bible) If we look at this verse God mentions that we are made on His image. Many argue that the image of God doesn t necessarily mean that we look like Him physically, but that we carry many of His qualities like having dominion over animals. But, if we look into this verse God mentions that He has allowed men to have dominion over animals, an Ape is an animal. Let them rule over the fish of the sea and over ... • 35. My School Day Speech Every day starts the same way. My alarm screeches at me to restart my cycle by getting up. The T.V from the first floor, always on channel 12, blasts the news about what is happening around us. Ignoring it as always, I sprint down the stairs into the kitchen to inhale the savory smell. My mother, who is always on top of things, is preparing my breakfast. Making sure that I can never have a peaceful breakfast, she ensures that I receive my daily speech. Do not talk to strangers, Rachel. Do not reveal where my family is from, Rachel. Do not do anything where the police can be involved, Rachel. Truly, after the hundreds and hundreds of times she has recited this speech, I suddenly lose the meaning of those statements, but I brush it off and continue my daily round. To continue my endless sequence, there is school, with teachers teaching the same topics every year, with textbooks that seem like they were from the 1800 s. It s never something new, nothing relevant. I always do what I am told, whether it is to answer a question or to explain why I chose that answer or to always do my homework. I find it easier just to accept whatever is given to you and not fight against it. Less conflict for myself and other people. To conclude my school day, I typically take my bus home. Unfortunately, after a jammed locker incident one day, I missed it. Oh, so you re still at school? Well, you can call a taxi. Just be careful said my mother worriedly through the phone. Hurry home. I can never understand why she is always on her toes for the smallest things. It s a simple taxi ride, what can go wrong? As I was waiting by the steps of the school, a sleek black car rolled up right in front of the building. I guess that s the taxi, I thought to myself. Quickly, I walked to the car, opened the passenger door, and sat inside. Hello, Rachel, right? You were the one that ordered the taxi? The taxi driver did not seem to move when he asked, almost like a robot. I hesitantly confirmed with a subtle yes then he drove away from the school. Daydreaming while looking through the window, I did not realize that the taxi driver was not taking the usual route to my house. I firmly grasped my phone and my things in case of any ... People don t bother about they either have ticket or not, they knowingly not only entered the train without ticket or unconfirmed, waiting ticket, but also travel in reservation compartment. Also the bribery and black marketing of tickets are the very important factor that come into role nowadays and also the numbers of daily up downers either for job or study has been increased a lot from villages to the nearby major cities. Thus all these situations leads to an overloaded train, full of extra passengers and causes lots of harm to the railway, passengers and Indian economy too (Bhatia, Lala, Chaurasia, 2012). The show Merlin is an adaptation of the King Arthur story but Merlin is the main hero in the story not King Arthur. In the book, The Legends of King Arthur and His Knights, the main hero is King Arthur not Merlin. These two versions both incorporate King Arthur s last battle but are both very different. Merlin and The Legends of King Arthur and His Knights are different by Merlin tries to save King Arthur from dying but in the The Legends of King Arthur and His Knights Merlin is not even mentioned. The death of Arthur is different in both texts because the show wants to appeal to a bigger audience. The main difference is that in The Legends of King Arthur, Arthur dies right after he gets stabbed from Modred, but in the show Merlin, he lives for a another couple of days while Merlin tries to find the place where Arthur will be saved. Merlin showed Arthur s death the way it did because they wanted the audience to be on edge. In the show, Merlin is the main hero and reveals that he has magical powers to Arthur while Arthur is dying. In the book Merlin is never mentioned and never was this close to Arthur. The show focuses on Merlin being the main hero because they wanted to portray that a common day person can be a hero. Merlin has magical powers and the show is based off of these magical powers.
