The webinar discusses a 21st century metrics model that balances both business and design metrics. It presents a 4-level model with Level 1 including standard GAAP metrics, Level 2 including key enterprise metrics, Level 3 including product-level metrics, and Level 4 including user experience metrics. The webinar provides examples of how Netflix and a health insurer could apply these different levels of metrics. It also discusses how UserZoom clients can apply insights from the model in their user research and when communicating with other teams.
UXPA 2023: Learn how to get over personas by swiping right on user rolesUXPA International
This session walks through the concept of user roles as an alternative to personas as a means to generate and disseminate user insights for product development teams. We will describe the tools and methods used to create a research database organized by user roles, along with examples and short exercises to help attendees think through user roles within their own context.
By the end of the session, attendees should be aware of tools and approaches for:
Organizing user research information in a database
Disseminating user role information to product and design teams
Managing a user roles database as part of a long term UX Research program
If you’re ready to ditch personas but don’t know how, this session is for you!
There are many reasons why someone might want to become a UI UX designer. One reason could be to create a better user experience for people using a product.
Another reason could be to improve the design of a website or app. A final reason could be to create new and innovative user interfaces.

UX Strategy - the secret sauce that defines the pixie dustEric Reiss
My opening keynote at UX Riga, 2016
UX strategy is about analyzing an organization’s business strategy and outlining what needs to be done from a UX perspective to ensure that the goals of the business strategy are achieved.
In brief, UX strategy is the glue that binds the company vision (goals) with the day-to-day UX tactics (execution). Without a clear UX strategy, it is entirely possible to design killer UX concepts, yet fail miserably in the marketplace. That happens a lot.
This talk aims to help companies and designers avoid costly yet easily avoidable pitfalls.
Web Mapping 101: What Is It and Making It Work For YouSafe Software
Web mapping is the process of using the internet to visualize, analyze, and share your geospatial data through a map. Web maps are an important tool for many organizations as they provide the ability to distribute critical information to anyone, anywhere, and at any time.
Web maps provide endless potential for visualizing valuable data that may otherwise go unused. But, not everyone knows how to get started with creating one. In this webinar, we’ll cover:
- An overview of web mapping and how it works
- How OpenLayers and Leaflet work with web mapping
- How to use web mapping tools, including Esri Leaflet and Mapbox with the HTMLReportGenerator
- How to create vector tilesets in FME to make web mapping easier than ever
Join our team of Support Specialists to learn how to get started using FME to create a web map of your own to visualize and share your data.
Stop wasting the value of your geospatial data by letting it sit unused. You’ll leave this webinar with the tools to get you started with creating a web map of your own so you can present your data in a way thats easy to understand and share with others.

Kubernetes & AI - Beauty and the Beast !?! @KCD Istanbul 2024Tobias Schneck
As AI technology is pushing into IT I was wondering myself, as an “infrastructure container kubernetes guy”, how get this fancy AI technology get managed from an infrastructure operational view? Is it possible to apply our lovely cloud native principals as well? What benefit’s both technologies could bring to each other?
Let me take this questions and provide you a short journey through existing deployment models and use cases for AI software. On practical examples, we discuss what cloud/on-premise strategy we may need for applying it to our own infrastructure to get it to work from an enterprise perspective. I want to give an overview about infrastructure requirements and technologies, what could be beneficial or limiting your AI use cases in an enterprise environment. An interactive Demo will give you some insides, what approaches I got already working for real.

Neuro-symbolic is not enough, we need neuro-*semantic*Frank van Harmelen
Neuro-symbolic (NeSy) AI is on the rise. However, simply machine learning on just any symbolic structure is not sufficient to really harvest the gains of NeSy. These will only be gained when the symbolic structures have an actual semantics. I give an operational definition of semantics as “predictable inference”.
All of this illustrated with link prediction over knowledge graphs, but the argument is general.
