He argued that reading is now 1) raw material for further creation; 2) real-time in the mobile age; 3) a “social contact sport” as teens share reading and other media and learn from them.
Lee Rainie, Director of the Pew Research Center’s Internet & American Life Project, will share findings from a new report on e-book lending at libraries. He will also discuss other research about the rise of e-books, their impact on people’s reading habits, and the way that library patrons are hoping to avail themselves of e-book borrowing.
