Egypt Market
โ€ข According to a report published by the USAID and prepared by
inTEXive consulting, the future of the technical textiles market in
Egypt has promising opportunities.
https://www.textiletoday.com.bd/technical-textiles-
market-in-egypt/
The exports of Egyptโ€™s
technical textiles sector are
growing at a very fast rate of
51% from 2013 to 2017, while
the imports are slightly
decreasing.
Cairo Textile Week,16-17 October, 2021.
Major Imports :
- Polymer laid nonwoven (US$ 96.9 million)
- Coated and laminated fabrics (US$ 93.6 million)
- Packtech (US$ 71.84 million)
- Protech (US$ 43 million).
Major Exports:
- Medtech (US$ 283 million)
- Glass fiber yarns and fabrics (US$ 160.5 million)
- Sportech (US$ 147.2 million)
- Polymer laid nonwoven (US$ 66.6 million).
Cairo Textile Week,16-17 October, 2021.
- Mostly synthetic, regenerated or inorganic fibres are used, and
natural fibers for less demanding technical applications.
โ€ข Inorganic fibres; glass, carbon, ceramic, basalt and
steelโ€ฆetc.
โ€ข synthetic fibers;
- Super high-modulus polymer fibers: aramids, HMWPE (super
High Molecular Weight Polyethylene).
- Thermally and chemically resistant fibers: PEEK (Polyether ether
ketone), PTFE (Polytetrafluoroethylene).
โ€ข Natural fibres; cotton, jute, bamboo, coconut, banana, palm
and sisal fibers.
Technical Fibres
Cairo Textile Week,16-17 October, 2021.

Composite Technique
Thermoplastic Composites
Composite material with thermoplastic resin like polyester,
HDPE (non-toxic and recyclable)
Thermo-set Composites
In these composites thermo-set polymers like epoxy,
unsaturated polyester and vinyl-ester are used as resin. They
are most used type of composites materials in automotive,
naval, aeronautical and aerospace applications.
Composites Applications
Space industry Aircraft
Sports and leisure goods
sails
Sun-blinds Tarpaulins
Conveyer belts

What Are Laminated Fabrics and Materials?
- Coating and laminating are increasingly
important techniques, and the use of these
techniques is growing rapidly as the applications
for technical textiles become more diverse
Laminated fabrics are composed of two or more layers,
at least one of which is a textile fabric and at least one of
which is a substantially continuous polymeric layer. The
layers are bonded by means of an added adhesive.
