The document discusses the benefits of meditation for reducing stress and anxiety. Regular meditation practice can help calm the mind and body by lowering heart rate and blood pressure. Studies have shown that meditating for just 10-20 minutes per day can have significant positive impacts on both mental and physical health over time.

The Happy Healthy Nonprofit: Linking Self-Care and Wellbeing to Impact Beth Kanter
This session is about how and why it is important to treat self-care and well-being as an organizational strategy and cultural norm. When self-care initiatives are treated as “extras” instead of being built right into the fabric of an organization’s culture, they are nothing more than a Band-Aid, barely disguising the underlying chronic stress and eroding the nonprofits ability to meet its mission. This session will share the latest thinking on well-being in the nonprofit workplace based on the presenter's book “The Happy Healthy Nonprofit: Strategies for Impact without Burnout.” Going beyond a narrow focus on physical health and wellness, the session will share examples and insights from nonprofits that have created and implemented a culture of well-being in the workplaces that supports results.

Abstract. Texting while walking is a widespread and dangerous behaviour. Efforts are being put towards the development of mobile applications to refrain users from engaging in this behavior. The study of the neuropsychological mechanisms underlying this behavior will help developers aim specific cognitive processes. This study uses intracranial electroencephalography to increase our spatial understanding of the processes implicated in mobile multitasking. We asked a subject implanted with 128 electrodes to engage in a texting conversation while having to discriminate a point-light walker’s direction. We discuss our results and methodological learning from this pilot study.

Most iPhone users don’t bother installing any apps per months. And worse, ~80% never use an app they’ve installed again. The future of mobile is clearly not app, but features. Features that make the iPhone ecosystem still a native experience, but as open and flexible as the web. Learn how you could prepare for that future.

The proliferation of tracking techniques & methods today reminds me of reports of the Homebrew Computer Club, which began meeting in Menlo Park in 1975. The current state of the QSelf field seems analogous to the early stage of personal computers, before the incredible potential of the technology was liberated by progress in interface design.
