- Stealth technology, also known as VLO or "very low observable technology", allows fighter planes to be harder to detect by radar and other sensors by reducing their radar reflection. - The first true stealth aircraft was likely the German Horten Ho 229 flying wing developed in 1944. More recent stealth fighters include the US Lockheed F-22 and F-35, and Russian Sukhoi PAK FA T-50. - Stealth technology aims to make aircraft invisible to enemy radar through special aircraft designs and use of radar-absorbent materials.
