How We Got Over Chapter Summary
How We Got Over is book full of selected speeches vocalized by Dr. John A. Peoples, Jr., a former
President of Jackson State University. The selected speeches cover topics centered around African
Americans, specifically African American education. Most of the speeches, compiled in the book by
Dr. John A. Peoples, Jr. himself, are from his Jackson State University Founders Day speeches. The
speeches are arranged chronologically, and some of the speeches are given discrete introductions to
elucidate the concern, purpose, or problem being addressed (Peoples ix). The book s title is a little
misleading because one underlying theme of the entire book is that the struggles for African
Americans are not over. Even though some of the speeches were voiced as far back as 1950, many of
the author s subject matter and presented perspectives are applicable to the today s society, most
unambiguously the African American community. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Dr. Peoples begins his compilation of speeches with a speech he gave as valedictorian of Jackson State
College on May 24, 1950. The speech addresses the inverse relationship between man s progress in
solving physical problems and his progress solving social problems (2). Dr. Peoples ends the speech
by asserting to his fellow graduates that as graduates, they must attack society s issues head on, and be
leaders to the African American community to solve society s social problems (4). That speech, given
by a young John A. Peoples, Jr., presents the fundamental purpose by which he has lived. This purpose
of being a courageous leader and problem solver sets forth the foundation for all of the following
speeches compiled in the

Descriptive Essay On The Abu Bbakr Temple
The temple that we visited was the Abu Bakr Mosque, a Sunni temple, and the largest Islamic Mosque
in the state of Colorado. The temple can accommodate up to 3,000 people at its maximum. Abu Bakr
is a part of the Colorado Muslim Society and is the first masjid in Colorado after the building was
purchased in 1974 and relocated to its current location. My first impression of the masjid was that it
did not seem like a religious building at first sight. Because of the simple masonry of the exterior, I
would have assumed that it was a school or office building. I originally expected more windows and
more of a radial pattern of the site. Everyone that I encountered outside of the temple was friendly and
wanted to interact and teach me more about about Islam. One man in the multicultural room of the
temple said that he couldn t distinguish if I was muslim or not because I had the traditional head scarf
on as well as being covered to my wrists and ankles. He said that I was very respectful by dressing
conservatively. The people seemed more conservative with the separation of the sexes and with the
timeliness of the prayer, but we were told that we were completely separated to eliminate distraction
for both men and women, and the exact timing of the prayer helped because it was a Saturday, and it
was easier for the attendants to be more on time. They are also very understanding of schedules
because the masjid is open all day to accommodate everyone. The community was very

The Human Body In Greek Art
Almost seven feet tall, a life like sculpture stands, broad and muscular, in the middle of the National
Archeological Museum, Naples, Italy. Made of bronze yet so full of life, the Spear Bearer is one of
many ancient Greek sculptures surviving, as good as new, till this day. On the other side of the world
stands the New York Kouros at the Metropolitan Museum, rigid and awkward, and all together
unrealistic. However, Greek art, especially Greek sculpture and vase painting has not always portrayed
the human body in such a perfect and idealistic way. Up until 500 BCE, Greek sculpture and statuary
specifically were completely different to what is seen and defined as Greek sculpture today while
Greek vase painting and other representations of the human body maintained their less realistic style.
The Greeks not only developed but also improved their artwork of the human figure throughout Early
Greece only to present a better and more idealistic image of sculpture using naturalism and realism
towards the Classical period. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The human representations in Greek art were very similar in many ways to the Egyptians early work.
This was due to the fact that during the Archaic period, Greek artists found inspiration in Egyptian art
and were influenced to adopt their styles and techniques into their own artwork; small details in
Egyptian statuary and paintings were incorporated into Greek sculptures and vase paintings (Archaic
Greek Art). Similarities, for starters, can be seen in the materials, medium and the minor techniques
used by the Greeks and

1984 Class Structure
Humans always have had a tendency to allow the poor and miserable to suffer, even while the wealthy
continue to fatten and flourish in needed yet often unshared resources. The social order has shaped a
distinctive hierarchy composed of the High, the Middle, and the Low in an exceedingly flawed and
callous structure. This system has been implemented in our history over a variety of ages and
civilizations. More importantly, the structure has not been altered to work for any system except for
theoretical Communism and Socialism. The novel 1984 was a shock to the masses when it was
released, but by showing the class structure and political satire Orwell was able to present not only the
danger of Communism gone awry but its repercussions on ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

This is remarkably similar to certain viewpoints taken of the United States philosophies on politics
and the class system. According to Phillips, the erosion of the U.S. middle class in the 1980s and
early 1990s reflected technological change and global economic upheaval. The Reagan administration
introduced new philosophies, tentative and little understood at first, to justify policies of redistributing
tax burdens, exalting markets, over rewarding the rich and the manipulations of finance Using the
previous example from Kevin Phillips, one can see how the upper or high class will always attempt to
gain more wealth and power, even at the expense of the common good as well as the majority. The
peasants and other low classes have always been pressed on by their uppers. The Proles make up the
majority of the population of Oceania, about 85%. The Party itself is only interested in their labor
power, because the Proles are mainly employed in the industry and in the farms (Gerenser). A society
cannot exist without a working class, and therefore it is the only reason why the Proles are still
around. In 1984, Winston begins to realize that the Proles may have a simpler and easier life than that
of the Party. While the Outer Party is working and

Music And Semantics Influence The Emotions Perceived...
Can the emotions elicited by music and semantics influence the emotions perceived in visual stimuli?
Interim report. Introduction The immediate aim of this study is to examine whether participants
perception of primed facial expressions is influenced more by the emotions elicited from music, or
words played during the rating of the faces. This experiment will also aim to study how participants
empathy and state trait levels will change the way that the music/words effects their rating of primed
neutral faces. The time that the participants take to rate each face will also be measured as a reaction
time to see if the mood induced by the music will have any effect on the time it takes to assess each
face. If this study can dissociate the effects of music and semantics on the rating of faces then we can
conclude that we use separate mechanisms in the generating of emotionality. Studying the difference
in the effects of semantics vs music on emotions will allow us to determine which medium has a large
effect over ones emotions, and just how significant this difference is. It is widely accepted in the
scientific community that music can influence our emotions, this is the reason that films are heavily
reliant on the score to help influence the viewers emotions in order to make the film a more engaging,
emotional experience. Rosenbaum Prinskys (1987) research found that the two main reasons that
college students in California listen to music were it helps me to relax

Dropping The Atomic Bomb On Hiroshima And Nagasaki
The Atomic Bomb Paula Rabens December 11, 2014 DeVry University Online The event that I chose
to discuss is the dropping of the atomic bomb on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. I believe that this event is
worth studying because it was the first and only time that an atomic bomb had been used in war. The
significance of this event can be seen from different sides and affected not only future policies,
national security, the future of energy development, and health related issues. This event is said to
have ended World War II, and at the same time started the cold war. The bombs were said to have
ultimately killed over 700,000 Japanese people (Nash, 2014). New medical and mental illnesses
occurring due to dropping the bomb and radiation, and also starting new threats of nuclear attack
throughout the world and the continued threat of creating and use of the atomic bombs. With the use
of the atomic bomb, the world considered countries that had the power of the atomic bomb to be a
superpower and countries like Russia wouldn t let the U.S. be the only ones who had this power.
Russia would build an atomic bomb and the threat of war was now considered to be fought with
nuclear annihilation. Historical causes and events This event actually started before 1945; the making
of the atomic bomb started in 1941 after hearing that the Germans had started working on nuclear
weapons. The Manhattan project was composed of scientists that

Abstract
In recent years, board members and staff of the Midsouth Chamber of Commerce (MSCC) have been
trying to update their information system. Their information has steadily required more capabilities
and in pursuit of better more efficient capabilities they have made several missteps that have cost them
a very large sum of money. They have had personnel acquire information systems that did not meet
the requirements of MSCC. The cost of these nonfunctioning systems has been in excess of
$277,000.00 dollars. MSCC is now on their third person to manage the acquisition of an information
system that will meet all the current and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Chamber has made numerous mistakes over the several months following Unitrak s installation
and implementation. Among them:
Failure of MSCC to take care of personnel. Kovecki was not as skilled as he could have been, he was
the only person within the MSCC who knew the Unitrak system. On top of that, he was the only
person who could keep it running and bringing in money to MSCC. Management should have taken
more interest in Kovecki s desire to run the computer operations. If they had, MSCC management
would never have hired Gramen. This probably would have limited the severity of this situation and
may have avoided it entirely.
The hiring Dick Gramen was a huge mistake. Gramen did not have the skills required to be in this
position. He came from a different computing environment (Macintosh), also he had no experience on
the systems in use at the MSCC. He never had had any prior contact with Unitrak or with any trade
associations.
MSCC had the mindset of we don t look outside our cave. This was clearly eveidenced when Unitrak s
developers found themselves in financial trouble. MSCC should have begun looking at their options
because they were already having problems with UNITRAK. Management should never wait until
problems arise to have a contingency plan in place. Unitrak was a bad choice for information system,
but not planning ahead is even worse perhaps inexcuseable. Also, MSCC did an inadequate

ANALYSIS
Company History * Founded in 1880 in Oakwoods by Daniel Dobbins. * Major product is Old
Trailridge Bourbon Whisky * High quality of whisky due to the unusual iron free spring water used in
the distillation process and the specially prepared fire charred white oak barrels used in the aging
process. * David Dobbins takes over in 1973. * Constant demand over the years * High demand surge
forecasted due to maturity of Baby boom generation.

You just can t age 50% more whiskey for the same amount of money. * The inventory account can
only be charged with those costs associated with the direct production of whiskey, and our
warehousing costs are handling or carrying costs, certainly not production costs. * The manufacturing
process doesn t stop with the newly produced bourbon; why it isn t even marketable in that form.
Aging is an absolutely essential part of the manufacturing process, and I think the cost of barrels and
part of the warehouse labor should be treated as direct costs of the product. * Warehousing and aging
costs are an absolutely essential ingredient of our final product. * Direct costs are those costs that are
necessary to convert raw materials into the whiskey that goes into the aging barrels. * This is our cost
of approximately $1 per gallon and includes the cost of raw materials going into the product such as
grain, yeast, and malt; the direct labor necessary to convert these materials into whiskey; and the cost
of any other overhead items that are needed to permit the workers to convert grain into whiskey.
The Problem
The main issue at Daniel Dobbins Distillery, Inc. is a disagreement among the senior management
with regards to the allocation of costs. Specifically, it is a question of whether to include Ageing
Costs, Cost of Barrels, and Warehouse Expense as a part of inventory (in which case it

I Am Deeply About The World With Child Eyes
I chose this artist, because she has been a big inspiration on my work. I am deeply in love with her
paintings, the way she combines colors and the textures she creates in her canvas. Starla Michelle was
born in Texas and currently is a professional full time painter in Austin. She got her bachelors of Fine
Arts in Design Communications from Texas Tech University. Her work is mostly mixed medium, with
impasto techniques; which makes her work to have a three dimensional characteristic. Her strong
brushstrokes create bright, colorful patterns that seem to move and flow across her canvas. Her work
makes us see the world with child eyes again. The wonders of life. She is a devoted Christian, and
everything she does she gives Jesus credit for it. Her beautiful paintings are full of emotion.
Starla grew up in a farm in West Texas, where the only access she had to art was a P encyclopedia. At
four years old she would thumb through Paintings thinking Anyone who can do this, has to be happy
all the time. Her childhood was based on chasing butterflies, collecting shells, glass, rocks whatever
she found interesting and beautiful on the way. In the beginning of her teenager s years, she wanted to
be a vet because she loves animals deeply. Most definitely her paintings reflect that. The subject
matter in her paintings are mostly animals, but she also includes flowers to it sometimes. She creates
them in a different way, so they have patterns, different colors and textures.

Elsie and Her Mother in Oranges Are Not the Only Fruit
In a story of a young girl coming of age and finding her sexuality in a very religious community, it is
key to have a female figure that plays a key role for the character. A mother should play the key role
but what happens when this role is confused with a very spiritual role? Where will a young girl turn to
when her life goes against the rules society has set for her?
Jeanette has lived a sheltered life with no influence on her except for the church. Her mother is a strict
Christian with a deep resentment for things and people not within her fold. Being brought up in a
society where going against the norm is a sin. A society that shakes its head at acts of individualism

These differences between these two women are what make Jeanette a rounded person, if not a
confused one at first. Jeanette gained a sense a self with her mother. She knew she was to work with
the Lord and teach his words to others. Her goal in life was to go and be a missionary, to teach others
how to believe in God. Combined with this imbedded sense of self is the confidence Elsie gave her.
Elsie not only understood
the word of the Lord and came from within the society Jeanette grew up in, she had a sense of the
world around her, that the world didn?t start and stop with the preaching of the Lord. Elsie gave
Jeanette a feeling of fellowship, a deep friendship that was based on true feelings, not the Lord.
In one part of the book Elsie helps Jeanette with the transition of home schooling, which was based on
biblical texts, to public schooling. Elsie gave Jeanette a way of incorporating her biblical background
into a public school setting, even if it did shock and raise eyebrows. The older woman gave Jeanette a
much needed avenue to express herself. At this time her mother is not too upset with the friendship.
She likes the reaction Jeanette is getting from her religious art works and other biblical oddities that
seem out of place in public school. Elsie is still seen as a fellow follower, a follower of Jeanette?s
mother.
The relationship between Elsie and her mother gets strained after Jeanette is

Victor is the True Villain of Frankenstein Essay
At first glance, the monster in Frankenstein is a symbol of evil, whose only desire is to ruin lives. He
has been called A creature that wreaks havoc by destroying innocent lives often without remorse. He
can be viewed as the antagonist, the element Victor must overcome to restore balance and tranquility
to the world. But after the novel is looked at on different levels, one becomes aware that the creature
wasn t responsible for his actions, and was just a victim of circumstance. The real villain of
Frankenstein isn t the creature, but rather his creator, Victor. As a romantic novel Victor is responsible,
because he abandoned his creation. As an archetype novel, Victor is the villain, because he was trying
to play god. Finally, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
. . This is another example of how the creature wanted someone to talk to him and be his friend, and
that person should have been Victor. Victor is also a villain in a Archetype sense. Victor was trying to
play god, when he created the creature, and that is something he shouldn t have done, because humans
can t become too powerful, even though they always try. Victor became so obsessed with creating life,
that it clouded his judgment, and took up all of his time and energy. On page 66, just before Justine s
trial, Victor thought to himself, During the whole of this wretched mockery of justice I suffered living
torture. It was to be whether the result of my curiosity and lawless devices would cause the death of
two of my fellow beings. This line shows two things, first Victor knew that Justine, and William s
death was his fault. Also, he knew that his experiments, shouldn t have been done, and were against
the laws of nature and god. On page 39, Victor says, Life and death appeared to me ideal bounds,
which I should first break through, and pour a torrent of light into our dark world. A new species
would bless me as its creator and source, many happy and excellent natures would owe their being to
me. This quote shows how Victor wanted to be like a god. He wanted to be admired, and praised as a
species creator. And this want is another reason he was the real villain of Frankenstein. Finally,

Analysis Of John Tetzel And Pope Leo X
Luther historically portrays John Tetzel and his relation with Pope Leo X. Leo wanted to refurbish
Rome, with his crowning achievement being St. Peter s Basilica. To fund this he began to employ
Tetzel. Tetzel is describes a being an unscrupulous man who was willing to make scandalous claims
about his wares such as, the cross of the seller of indulgences has as much power as the cross of Christ
(Gonzales, History of Christianity, 524). It was to theses claims as well as others that Luther s Ninety
five Thesis addressed. Pope Leo called for the Augustinian order to deal with Luther. Luther went in
fear of his life, yet till portrays Luther as hopeful. At most of the meetings, portrayed by Till, Luther
seems confident that he will be able to sway the pope and others to his beliefs. At the meeting Luther
stands before the council. They have all his works placed on a table. Luther is not given a chance to
defend his positions, for the council will not hear it. He is only asked if the literature presented is of
his penmanship. Luther admits that he is the author. Then the council asks him to recant of his works.
In keeping with historical records, Luther does not recant. In fact, he informs them that they only way
he will be swayed that he has erred is if they can show him with Biblical proof. Luther returned to
Wittenberg, where Till portrays him as a hero. People, especially peasants seem to flock to him. At one
point, a member of his congregation has a son who killed

Julius Caesar and Other Shakespearian Tragedies
Shakespearian tragedies usually have a well defined tragic hero. According to Aristotle, a Greek
philosopher, a tragic hero is a character of high rank and nobility, exhibits a tragic flaw, and
recognizes how his actions led to his eventual downfall. William Shakespeare s The Tragedy of Julius
Caesar incited a century old argument over who really deserves the title of The Tragic Hero. Many
argue that Caesar is the tragic hero. However, I believe that Brutus should hold the title of tragic hero
because he is a noble and respected man, he holds tragic flaw of poor judgment. But most importantly,
what separates him from Caesar, is that he recognizes how these flaws and his decision to murder his
leader resulted in his own demise.
To accomplish their plan, the conspirators needed a noble man of high stature to justify their actions.
The best man for the job was Brutus. Brutus was Caesar s best friend, loved by the people, and he
loved the people back. Therefore, it only made sense for the conspirators to recruit Brutus guarantees
the support of the Roman people. Cassius admits this too, Brutus shall lead, and we will grace his
heels / With the most boldest and best hearts of Rome (3.1.135 136). Cassius himself says that Brutus
s credibility will lead to the success of the plan. If Brutus leads the way, then the people will assume
that maybe Caesar s death was not that terrible since this noble man killed Caesar. Brutus s nobility in

Lysander Love Potion Essay
An effect of Oberon and Puck s incorrect use of the love potion was that Hermia becomes heartbroken
that Lysander now loves Helena. As Hermia expresses in Act 3 Scene 2; What? Can you do me greater

as fair now as I was erewhile. Since night you loved me; yet since night you left me. Why then you

In Act 3, Scene 2 Lysander challenges Demetrius with a sword fight; If thou say so, withdraw, and
prove it too (Line 255). The competitiveness of both of the men to win over Helena is extremely
romantic, even though neither of them are in love with her. It is flattering, yet immature that they are
determining over a brawl who should get to be with Helena. They are treating her as an object,
whereas they never asked Helena who she would want to marry, but took it upon themselves to decide
who got to claim her as their prize. Another example of Lysander wanting to fight was in lines 413
420 (Act 3, Scene 2); He goes before me, and still dares me on; When I come where he calls, then he
is gone. The villain is much lighter heel d than I; I follow fast, but faster he did fly, That fallen am I in

grey light I ll find Demetrius and revenge this spite (Lines 423 420). Lysander thinks that Demetrius
was making him run around the forest to look for him to fight, though it was Puck who just wanted to
make him tired so he could put the anti solution on his eyes. Demetrius did not declare any fighting,
but wanted to prove his worthiness, for he too loved Helena. Boys will be boys as they say, and in this

To do so the child used his upper extremities to push his weight back and onto his lower extremities.
In doing so the child quickly and smoothly swung his right leg out in front of his body and left his left

movement the child used both legs and neither upper extremity to stand upright turning his hips to the
left to compensate for the crossed leg underneath him (this squared his hips in such a way that his foot
was now facing directly in front of him as he came to standing). The movement ended with the child
in a stable standing position with a good base of support.
These positions and motion were all very well controlled and were executed smoothly. Beyond these
transitions and positions the child displayed multiple combinations of controlled movements during
play. This puts the child into the context specific category of development (ages 7 11). This child was
only 4 years old but displayed proficient movement control that can be considered above average

The Center Of Philadelphi The Tower Of Terror
If you have ever been to Philly, you have probably passed it at one time an old abandoned building,
which at one time was the center of Philadelphia attention. I have travelled through Philadelphia many
times and have passed this impressive Victorian style building. Despite its abandoned and rundown
appearance, I have always said that this building had so much beauty and potential. The outside of the
building has intricate arching and architecture, and has eye catching brick and stone detailing. Driving
down Broad Street, going from North Philly towards the center of downtown, my eyes always drifted
to the left to stare at this building a structure somewhat resembling the Tower of Terror from Disney
World. After passing this building various times, my mind began to question if this building was at
one time a well kept and prosperous place. As I passed this building once more, I took note of the
rickety sign that sits on top of the building that reads Divine Lorraine Hotel . I began research on the
hotel and had never envisioned the history which stands behind that old desolate building. At one
time, the Divine Lorraine Hotel was the place to live in Philadelphia. Broad Street was a populated
and flourishing area in the city. So what is the history behind this building and what ever happened to
the Divine Lorraine Hotel? The hotel of striking architecture, through years of history, fell to shambles
after being one of the most successful hotels in Philadelphia.

Speech On Child Labor
So..What is child labor? Child labor is children basically being slaves for other people. Children who
are involved in child labor are sold by their parents to other companies. Adults would not be
considered people who are in child labor because they are grown adults. They work in fields and
factories but mostly factories. Sometimes they work in gold mines but with no safety equipment
whatsoever. These children work all day and not like you think which is maybe 3 hours. They spend
countless hours which I doubt you would even guess working in those fields, Factories and gold
mines. This segment will teach you all about child labor and what effects it has on these children. In
this essay you will learn about Child Labor and how it affects different children

But that is what set Activists wondering about child labor and what they can do to prevent it from
happening again. This became now a worldwide issue and eventually Craig Kielburger heard about the
problem and he figured out how he could solve it. He eventually started a organization that helped
kids in child labor. He eventually got a success and was able to help other kids in child labor. All of
this just started because of the shooting.
Right now Child Labor is a International problem and it is trying to be stopped in many countries. We
do not child labor because it is a very sad thing to deal with and we do have sympathy for what those
children are going through and how much they have to work. They are not just doing chores, they are
doing labor.
Now let us get into more about the mines that the children do work in. The mines that the children in
child labor work in are very poisonous. They are unlicensed but they still force the children who do
not wear the proper safety equipment to work in the mines and to mine the gold. The reason of the
poison in the mines is because of Mercury which is a very deadly

What Made Britain so Different from the Rest of Europe...
What made Britain so different from the rest of Europe before 1850?
By 1850, Britain had changed in a number of social and economic ways, for a variety of reasons,
primarily the industrial revolution as the historians O Brien and Quinault argue that Britain
represented a potent example for Western Europe and the United States of what could be achieved
highlighting British superiority and influence. The consequences of this momentous event can still be
seen in Britain and around the world today due to the technological and scientific discoveries and
innovations of the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. The development of British industry
consequently led to significant differences between Britain and other European countries such as ...

Child labour during this period was a serious problem children as young as 4 were expected to work in
factories in dangerous conditions with low pay. Working conditions were not only problematic for
children, but also for adults, illustrated by Engels, who argues that the industrial epoch had created
filth, ruin and uninhabitableness, the defiance of all considerations of cleanliness, ventilation, and
health highlighting the unsanitary and unsafe surroundings. However, the government attempted to
solve this problem with the Factory Acts of 1833. Housing also became a problem as many poor
people lived in tiny houses, with extremely bad sanitation, which in turn led to tuberculosis, cholera,
typhoid and lung disease. However, while this is true, in the context of the time, the workers and
middle class did benefit greatly from the Industrial Revolution in some way, as wages increased and
widespread poverty and constant threat of mass starvation...lessened, [and] overall health and material
conditions of the populace clearly improved . Therefore it is clear that Britain was different in social
terms as a result of the Industrial Revolution to Europe due to urbanisation, more jobs, a population
increase and better health care.
Additionally, Britain can be seen to be different from Europe in 1850 as a result of the economic
consequences of the Industrial Revolution, which brought about a modern economy . The economy
had already been transformed by the agricultural

Nuclear Energy Is Energy Generated From The Fission Or...
Nuclear Energy Jason Venturini April 6, 2016 What is nuclear energy? Nuclear energy is energy
generated from the fission or fusion of enriched uranium. The power plants in which this type of
energy is made are called nuclear power plants, but have many variations in how this energy is
achieved. Almost all reactors use heat generated from the enriched uranium pellets to bring water to a
boil, and use steam powered generators to create power. In Canada, the type of reactor used is called a
Pressurized Heavy Water Reactor (PHWR), a method created by Canada in the 1950 s. In the next
sections the inner workings of the PHWR method will be examined and its safety explained. How
does PHWR work? As mentioned before, many nuclear reactors use enriched uranium. PHWR,
however, does not for cost reasons as enrichment facilities for uranium are complicated, expensive and
the PHWR method is much more efficient. It avoids the usage of enriched uranium through heavy
water as a coolant instead of light water. Canada specific reactors, called CANDU (CANada
Deuterium Uranium) reactors use 30 40% less fuel than light water based reactors. With the benefits
of using heavy water out of the way, the complicated process of creating energy from small uranium
pellets the size of half an AA battery will be explained as simply as possible. The process starts with
hundreds of pellets being incased in metal, welded into small cylinders and inserted into a large tank
called the calandria . Nuclear

Summary Of Little Red Cap We See Red By Carol Ann Duffy
Autonomy within David Malouf s Ransom is represented by the lack of overbearing and constant
interference by the gods. Although the characters are bound by fate they are unrestricted in acting
within their own free will. In Carol Ann Duffy s Little Red Cap we see Red s autonomy by subverting
the traditional narrative and giving her control of the tale and fate of the Wolf.
The concept that humans possessed their own autonomy over their actions and the opportunities they
took was unfathomable concept to the Ancient Greeks who believed that their destinies were
predetermined and governed by the actions of deities and supernatural forces. Within Ransom it is we

Malouf does not portray fate as an irrevocable procession to the grave and that man is powerless to
contest it. For Malouf, that which cannot be altered in Priam s life is merely left to the gods and that
which can be changed is simply dependent on chance but instead makes it evident that through
perseverance and will, man can exercise a degree of control over his destiny.
When we look at depictions of free will in regards to Achilles, we can see that his reputation
throughout the territory is well known, bringing fear to Trojans and inspiration to the Greeks. Despite
his reputation being earnt through war and strength, Achilles would not be remembered for this.
Malouf presents to us the raw, vulnerable side of Achilles with his mourning for Patroclus. The very
act of dragging Hector s body each morning behind his chariot ... breaks daily every rule [his men] ...
have been taught to live by. Their only explanation is that he is mad (p.29). However, we can see the
gods do not interfere with Achilles desecration by taking Hector s body, instead they return the body
to an untarnished state, adding to Achilles rage (p.31) Priam s arrival to Achilles camp is an
autonomous act as he wishes to ransom myself as well as my son linking back to the small child
Podarces who was ransom in himself. This highlights Priam s

Overfishing And Its Effects On The Ocean
Overfishing Leads to a Worldwide Oceanic Ecological Collapse People often take the ocean for
granted due to its vastness since it makes up over seventy percent of the Earth, however the integrity
of the ocean is deteriorating. One of the major, worldwide threats to the wellbeing of the ocean and its
inhabitants is overfishing. Overfishing affects not only the ocean, but also the land dwellers. Many
countries around the world depend on fish as their main source of food. Tons of fish are caught out of
the sea daily, however, the rate that fish are being hauled is far too high where fish stocks are
incapable of naturally recovering. There is a decline in population size of affected fish and some
species have even faced extinction. Overfishing is the leading cause of ecological extinction,
foregoing any other human disruptions to marine ecosystems, such as pollution, water degradation,
and climate change (Jackson, et al). Overfishing causes an overwhelming devastation upon the oceans
because it depletes food resources, disrupts the food web, and destroys habitats of aquatic organisms,
due to this, overfishing causes an oceanic ecological collapse worldwide. Overfishing is not a problem
that has recently arise, but a problem that started since the early 1800s. Overfishing first began when
people sought for blubber for lamp oil, which lead to a decline in whale population. By the mid 1900s,
some fish were almost wiped out, such as the Atlantic cod, herring, and sardines

A Short Note On Hepatitis And Its Effects
HEPATITIS A:
It is a liver infection caused by Hepatitis A virus which is highly contagious. Hepatitis A viruses cause
the disease termed hepatitis A. Hepatitis A virus can be transmitted to others by contaminated stools
(feces), foods prepared by an infected person, contaminated water, and close personal contact (for
example, touching hands, sex), with an infected person but not by sneezing ,cough, hugging (without
skin contact) or by being near an infected person. Hepatitis A diagnosed by commonly available blood
tests .once Hepatitis A is affected you cannot get it again. Most of the people infected with Hepatitis A
recover completely. Hepatitis A infection never causes a long term (chronic) infection.
Symptoms of Hepatitis A:
1. Weakness
2. Fever
3. Loss of appetite
4. Vomiting
5. Joint aches and Pains
6. Fatigue
7. Jaundice (dark urine, pale colored feces, skin and yellowish eyes.
8. Diarrhea
9. In blood stream bile is removed and excreted through urine
Structure:
The hepatitis A virus is a Picorna virus. Picorna virus is non enveloped and contains a single stranded
RNA packaged in a protein shell. And it is having only one serotype of the virus. But multiple
genotypes exist.
Testing for Hepatitis A:
The time between exposure to the virus and the development of symptoms that is incubation period
varies from 15 to 50 days, with an average of 30 days. Hepatitis A virus is excreted for up to two
weeks before the onset of symptoms. Therefore, people with hepatitis A should

How To Avoid When De-Icing Your Windshield
During the winter months, snow and ice is a common problem. Not only does it make the roads slick
and dangerous, it also coats your vehicle. While removing snow and ice might seem like an easy task,
it can become difficult. Removing snow and ice the wrong way can easily cause your windshield to
crack. So what should you avoid when de icing your windshield? Here are three things: 1. Hot Water
A lot of people think hot water is a good idea, especially when they are in a hurry. While hot water
certainly can melt ice, it isn t a good idea to pour it onto your windshield. Cold glass is under a lot of
stress and warming it up too quickly causes a thermal shock, which can easily make it crack or shatter.
If the weather is particularly cold, you should

list of material and ingredients you will need: an 8X10 cake pan, a large and a small bowl, a spoon, a

strawberry glaze, and light pink icing. For the icing I suggest strawberry icing by Betty Crocker. After
gathering all ingredients place them one the counter. Now that all the ingredients are out, set the oven

Hunger Of New York City
Hunger in New York City
Since the recession started in 2007, the national statistics of unemployment, low income households,
and hunger have increased yearly. Even after the recession had ended in 2009 the economic issues are
still very prominent. Everything economically related to the health and welfare of the vast majority of
our American citizens, has sky rocketed in a very negative way. Students, parents, children and
families alike have, and continue to struggle with hunger on a day to day basis. Our communities have
become impoverished with food, expanding state to state with hunger and even starvation. New York
City, has become a haven of families struggling with the realities that hunger can bring. How long can
we live like this before somebody does anything about this?
The research on this matter has some astonishing numbers, NYC Hunger Exp. 2012: One City Two
Realities writes: In 2012, almost three in four New York City households with children with annual
incomes of less than $25,000 (70 percent) had difficulty affording needed food. The percentage having
difficulty is up 30 percent from 2011 (54 percent), representing the biggest increase since the start of
the poll in 2003 and the biggest increase of any population group in this year s poll. Soon after the
recession, the numbers have still risen, and these recent statistics have proven the dramatic need for
help on an individual level for low income families.

Questions:
MegaCorp is a large manufacturing firm that operates 5 factories in Dallas, 4 factories in Los Angeles,
and 5 factories in Albany, New York. It operates a tightly connected order management system that
coordinates orders, raw materials, and inventory across all 14 factories. What type of WAN
architecture and WAN service would you recommend? Why?
Recommendations:
When designing a WAN, numerous factors must be considered. Organizations attempting to connect
multiple factories or offices and remote personnel must take into account a number of variables that
will impact overall costs and network functionality. When designing and implementing wide area
networks (WANs) that integrate voice, video, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
So therefore, based off the information provided, I would recommend a packet switched architecture,
or more specifically a Frame relay with a CIR 45 Mbps WAN service. Frame Relay is packet switched
data link layer protocol that handles multiple virtual circuits using High Level Data Link Control
(HDLC) encapsulation between connected devices. (Cisco, 2005) In many cases, Frame Relay is more
efficient than X.25 and generally less expensive than ATM. Also the data provided does not suggest
that MegaCorp specifically has needs for the extensive QoS information that ATM provides that
would enable the setting of very precise priorities among different types of transmissions such as high
priority for voice and video and lower priority for email. If the company were a consulting firm with a
high propensity for needs on bandwidth because of video conferencing or high bandwidth requiring
applications then perhaps ATM architecture with a T1 or T3 WAN service might be more suitable.
Even though MegaCorp is a large manufacturing firm recommending Ethernet services might prove to
be too expensive of a proposal as well and thus causing us to lose the project. The cost associated to
having each factory connected by fiber optic cables to the provider s city wide MAN backbone plus
the cost of the Ethernet switch might not be justified by the company s bandwidth needs.

William Blake s Influence Of Literature
William Blake
William Blake s poetry was heavily influenced by the Christian Bible, which is quite uncommon for
the English Romantic poets. In fact, he is even known as the final religious poet of Britain. This
tendency toward using the Bible in his literature derived from his avid reading of this holy book
during his childhood. There is little information about any other schooling he might have had outside
of reading this book. However, his writing was unique from other Christian writings as he drew direct
influence from the Bible rather than the common church.

William Blake had radical views regarding his society and the politics that governed it. Blake
demonstrated these radical social views by renouncing clothing and thus condoning nudity. In fact,
Blake even stripped off his dress when meeting with his friends in a garden. His radical political views
were demonstrated while arguing with Soldier John Scofield. The soldier claimed Blake openly spoke
bad of the English King as well as expressed views in favor of Napoleon Bonaparte, the French
emperor, thus landing him in a trial where he was charged with sedation, or the promotion of anti
governmental rebellion.

Blake s demonstrated his radical political views when writing Europe. In this sample of writing, Blake
insinuated contempt against King George the III, though without actually referring to the King
himself. Writing such as these spurred rumors of Blake s treasonous remarks against the King, such as
that which was accounted by a soldier from Felpham. These rumors caused Blake to be charged with
treason, though he was freed of charges later.

Pros And Cons Of Museum Repatriation Controversy
Museum Repatriation Controversy
Museums are in a showdown with other countries over art, artifacts, and even culture. They are
fighting over repatriation, the return of artifacts and other antiquities. One expert explains, There are
those in favor of repatriation who say it is unethical to keep these artifacts. Others contend that such
artifacts should remain in museums because they are part of a universal human history (Art and
Cultural Repatriation). Having better more fair laws on cultural property and repatriation could lower
looting and increase archeological dig sites to find even more antiquities. The individual country the
artifact comes from, and the museum researching it, should be the only ones that can claim whether

Author Svensson of On Craft and Art , believes that by giving back artifacts of cultural importance it
will mean better environments for it to be in, and become a tourist attraction for these countries so
they could get more money. Svensson also thinks that for the indigenous peoples that now have
museums could finally have something to attract more people and promote sharing of the artifacts
between other museums(par. 1). Along with Svensson s ideas there is also a problem with stopping
museums from buying stolen artifacts and refusing to give them back. Henrik Bering noted, The
traditional museum concept of universalism, the British cultural policy adviser Munira Mirza points
out, is now associated with imperialistic values and the theft of other peoples identity, for which there
is said to be only one remedy: to hand back our ill gotten gains (par. 16). Some museums feel it
necessary to keep artifacts because they believe they could provide a better more suitable environment

The Motivation And Intrinsic Motivation
All children are unique and learn in different ways, however, when it comes to their motivation they
will most likely fall into one of two categories. Extrinsic motivation revolves around grades and points
and competition, and intrinsic motivation stems more from personal interests, sense of belonging, and
passion to grow. (Carol Dweck). Roman, an 11 year old high functioning autistic child, had no desire
to participate in any class learning when I began working with him. He only excitedly and willingly

Narrator, judge, referee). To further engage Roman, I decided to seek his opinion while keeping the
format and structure of the activities. When rules are provided to the children in an autonomy
supportive way (explanatory rationales, and acknowledgment of the children s perspectives and
feelings) there is no decrease in engagement as opposed to children who do not have their input
included. (Skinner and Belmot 1999). Personal interest, opinions, and overall intrinsic factors are why
Roman started becoming eager and excited to engage and try new things.
Including more team based activities helped Roman feel a sense of belonging and safety. Maintaining
a high ratio of positive statements as well as expressing respect for all students, builds trust in the
classroom. (Evertson, C. M., Emmer, E. T). By implementing activities that had more of a
collaborative process, peer encouragement and help were more evident and motivation can increase
when everyone feels safe and helps each other. (Hagelskamp, C. 51 (3 4), 530 54). Roman began not
fearing participating in activities once he knew that everyone supported each other and their input.
Additionally, educational games where students cheer on their teammates boosted self esteem, and the
emotional well being of students can influence the quality of their participation. (Hagelskamp) I

  • 2. How We Got Over Chapter Summary How We Got Over is book full of selected speeches vocalized by Dr. John A. Peoples, Jr., a former President of Jackson State University. The selected speeches cover topics centered around African Americans, specifically African American education. Most of the speeches, compiled in the book by Dr. John A. Peoples, Jr. himself, are from his Jackson State University Founders Day speeches. The speeches are arranged chronologically, and some of the speeches are given discrete introductions to elucidate the concern, purpose, or problem being addressed (Peoples ix). The book s title is a little misleading because one underlying theme of the entire book is that the struggles for African Americans are not over. Even though some of the speeches were voiced as far back as 1950, many of the author s subject matter and presented perspectives are applicable to the today s society, most unambiguously the African American community. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Dr. Peoples begins his compilation of speeches with a speech he gave as valedictorian of Jackson State College on May 24, 1950. The speech addresses the inverse relationship between man s progress in solving physical problems and his progress solving social problems (2). Dr. Peoples ends the speech by asserting to his fellow graduates that as graduates, they must attack society s issues head on, and be leaders to the African American community to solve society s social problems (4). That speech, given by a young John A. Peoples, Jr., presents the fundamental purpose by which he has lived. This purpose of being a courageous leader and problem solver sets forth the foundation for all of the following speeches compiled in the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Descriptive Essay On The Abu Bbakr Temple The temple that we visited was the Abu Bakr Mosque, a Sunni temple, and the largest Islamic Mosque in the state of Colorado. The temple can accommodate up to 3,000 people at its maximum. Abu Bakr is a part of the Colorado Muslim Society and is the first masjid in Colorado after the building was purchased in 1974 and relocated to its current location. My first impression of the masjid was that it did not seem like a religious building at first sight. Because of the simple masonry of the exterior, I would have assumed that it was a school or office building. I originally expected more windows and more of a radial pattern of the site. Everyone that I encountered outside of the temple was friendly and wanted to interact and teach me more about about Islam. One man in the multicultural room of the temple said that he couldn t distinguish if I was muslim or not because I had the traditional head scarf on as well as being covered to my wrists and ankles. He said that I was very respectful by dressing conservatively. The people seemed more conservative with the separation of the sexes and with the timeliness of the prayer, but we were told that we were completely separated to eliminate distraction for both men and women, and the exact timing of the prayer helped because it was a Saturday, and it was easier for the attendants to be more on time. They are also very understanding of schedules because the masjid is open all day to accommodate everyone. The community was very ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. The Human Body In Greek Art Almost seven feet tall, a life like sculpture stands, broad and muscular, in the middle of the National Archeological Museum, Naples, Italy. Made of bronze yet so full of life, the Spear Bearer is one of many ancient Greek sculptures surviving, as good as new, till this day. On the other side of the world stands the New York Kouros at the Metropolitan Museum, rigid and awkward, and all together unrealistic. However, Greek art, especially Greek sculpture and vase painting has not always portrayed the human body in such a perfect and idealistic way. Up until 500 BCE, Greek sculpture and statuary specifically were completely different to what is seen and defined as Greek sculpture today while Greek vase painting and other representations of the human body maintained their less realistic style. The Greeks not only developed but also improved their artwork of the human figure throughout Early Greece only to present a better and more idealistic image of sculpture using naturalism and realism towards the Classical period. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The human representations in Greek art were very similar in many ways to the Egyptians early work. This was due to the fact that during the Archaic period, Greek artists found inspiration in Egyptian art and were influenced to adopt their styles and techniques into their own artwork; small details in Egyptian statuary and paintings were incorporated into Greek sculptures and vase paintings (Archaic Greek Art). • 5. 1984 Class Structure Humans always have had a tendency to allow the poor and miserable to suffer, even while the wealthy continue to fatten and flourish in needed yet often unshared resources. The social order has shaped a distinctive hierarchy composed of the High, the Middle, and the Low in an exceedingly flawed and callous structure. This system has been implemented in our history over a variety of ages and civilizations. More importantly, the structure has not been altered to work for any system except for theoretical Communism and Socialism. The novel 1984 was a shock to the masses when it was released, but by showing the class structure and political satire Orwell was able to present not only the danger of Communism gone awry but its repercussions on ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This is remarkably similar to certain viewpoints taken of the United States philosophies on politics and the class system. According to Phillips, the erosion of the U.S. middle class in the 1980s and early 1990s reflected technological change and global economic upheaval. The Reagan administration introduced new philosophies, tentative and little understood at first, to justify policies of redistributing tax burdens, exalting markets, over rewarding the rich and the manipulations of finance Using the previous example from Kevin Phillips, one can see how the upper or high class will always attempt to gain more wealth and power, even at the expense of the common good as well as the majority. The peasants and other low classes have always been pressed on by their uppers. The Proles make up the majority of the population of Oceania, about 85%. The Party itself is only interested in their labor power, because the Proles are mainly employed in the industry and in the farms (Gerenser). A society cannot exist without a working class, and therefore it is the only reason why the Proles are still around. In 1984, Winston begins to realize that the Proles may have a simpler and easier life than that of the Party. While the Outer Party is working and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Music And Semantics Influence The Emotions Perceived... Can the emotions elicited by music and semantics influence the emotions perceived in visual stimuli? Interim report. Introduction The immediate aim of this study is to examine whether participants perception of primed facial expressions is influenced more by the emotions elicited from music, or words played during the rating of the faces. This experiment will also aim to study how participants empathy and state trait levels will change the way that the music/words effects their rating of primed neutral faces. The time that the participants take to rate each face will also be measured as a reaction time to see if the mood induced by the music will have any effect on the time it takes to assess each face. If this study can dissociate the effects of music and semantics on the rating of faces then we can conclude that we use separate mechanisms in the generating of emotionality. Studying the difference in the effects of semantics vs music on emotions will allow us to determine which medium has a large effect over ones emotions, and just how significant this difference is. It is widely accepted in the scientific community that music can influence our emotions, this is the reason that films are heavily reliant on the score to help influence the viewers emotions in order to make the film a more engaging, emotional experience. Rosenbaum Prinskys (1987) research found that the two main reasons that college students in California listen to music were it helps me to relax ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. Dropping The Atomic Bomb On Hiroshima And Nagasaki The Atomic Bomb Paula Rabens December 11, 2014 DeVry University Online The event that I chose to discuss is the dropping of the atomic bomb on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. I believe that this event is worth studying because it was the first and only time that an atomic bomb had been used in war. The significance of this event can be seen from different sides and affected not only future policies, national security, the future of energy development, and health related issues. This event is said to have ended World War II, and at the same time started the cold war. The bombs were said to have ultimately killed over 700,000 Japanese people (Nash, 2014). New medical and mental illnesses occurring due to dropping the bomb and radiation, and also starting new threats of nuclear attack throughout the world and the continued threat of creating and use of the atomic bombs. With the use of the atomic bomb, the world considered countries that had the power of the atomic bomb to be a superpower and countries like Russia wouldn t let the U.S. be the only ones who had this power. Russia would build an atomic bomb and the threat of war was now considered to be fought with nuclear annihilation. Historical causes and events This event actually started before 1945; the making of the atomic bomb started in 1941 after hearing that the Germans had started working on nuclear weapons. Their information has steadily required more capabilities and in pursuit of better more efficient capabilities they have made several missteps that have cost them a very large sum of money. They have had personnel acquire information systems that did not meet the requirements of MSCC. The cost of these nonfunctioning systems has been in excess of $277,000.00 dollars. The Chamber has made numerous mistakes over the several months following Unitrak s installation and implementation. Among them: Failure of MSCC to take care of personnel. Kovecki was not as skilled as he could have been, he was the only person within the MSCC who knew the Unitrak system. On top of that, he was the only person who could keep it running and bringing in money to MSCC. Management should have taken more interest in Kovecki s desire to run the computer operations. If they had, MSCC management would never have hired Gramen. This probably would have limited the severity of this situation and may have avoided it entirely. The hiring Dick Gramen was a huge mistake. Gramen did not have the skills required to be in this position. He came from a different computing environment (Macintosh), also he had no experience on the systems in use at the MSCC. He never had had any prior contact with Unitrak or with any trade associations. MSCC had the mindset of we don t look outside our cave. This was clearly eveidenced when Unitrak s developers found themselves in financial trouble. MSCC should have begun looking at their options because they were already having problems with UNITRAK. Management should never wait until problems arise to have a contingency plan in place. Unitrak was a bad choice for information system, but not planning ahead is even worse perhaps inexcuseable. Aging is an absolutely essential part of the manufacturing process, and I think the cost of barrels and part of the warehouse labor should be treated as direct costs of the product. * Warehousing and aging costs are an absolutely essential ingredient of our final product. * Direct costs are those costs that are necessary to convert raw materials into the whiskey that goes into the aging barrels. * This is our cost of approximately $1 per gallon and includes the cost of raw materials going into the product such as grain, yeast, and malt; the direct labor necessary to convert these materials into whiskey; and the cost of any other overhead items that are needed to permit the workers to convert grain into whiskey. • 10. I Am Deeply About The World With Child Eyes I chose this artist, because she has been a big inspiration on my work. I am deeply in love with her paintings, the way she combines colors and the textures she creates in her canvas. Starla Michelle was born in Texas and currently is a professional full time painter in Austin. She got her bachelors of Fine Arts in Design Communications from Texas Tech University. Her work is mostly mixed medium, with impasto techniques; which makes her work to have a three dimensional characteristic. Her strong brushstrokes create bright, colorful patterns that seem to move and flow across her canvas. Her work makes us see the world with child eyes again. The wonders of life. She is a devoted Christian, and everything she does she gives Jesus credit for it. Her beautiful paintings are full of emotion. Starla grew up in a farm in West Texas, where the only access she had to art was a P encyclopedia. At four years old she would thumb through Paintings thinking Anyone who can do this, has to be happy all the time. Her childhood was based on chasing butterflies, collecting shells, glass, rocks whatever she found interesting and beautiful on the way. In the beginning of her teenager s years, she wanted to be a vet because she loves animals deeply. Most definitely her paintings reflect that. The subject matter in her paintings are mostly animals, but she also includes flowers to it sometimes. She creates them in a different way, so they have patterns, different colors and textures. ... Victor was trying to play god, when he created the creature, and that is something he shouldn t have done, because humans can t become too powerful, even though they always try. Victor became so obsessed with creating life, that it clouded his judgment, and took up all of his time and energy. On page 66, just before Justine s trial, Victor thought to himself, During the whole of this wretched mockery of justice I suffered living torture. It was to be whether the result of my curiosity and lawless devices would cause the death of two of my fellow beings. This line shows two things, first Victor knew that Justine, and William s death was his fault. Also, he knew that his experiments, shouldn t have been done, and were against the laws of nature and god. On page 39, Victor says, Life and death appeared to me ideal bounds, which I should first break through, and pour a torrent of light into our dark world. A new species would bless me as its creator and source, many happy and excellent natures would owe their being to me. This quote shows how Victor wanted to be like a god. • 16. Analysis Of John Tetzel And Pope Leo X Luther historically portrays John Tetzel and his relation with Pope Leo X. Leo wanted to refurbish Rome, with his crowning achievement being St. Peter s Basilica. To fund this he began to employ Tetzel. Tetzel is describes a being an unscrupulous man who was willing to make scandalous claims about his wares such as, the cross of the seller of indulgences has as much power as the cross of Christ (Gonzales, History of Christianity, 524). It was to theses claims as well as others that Luther s Ninety five Thesis addressed. Pope Leo called for the Augustinian order to deal with Luther. Luther went in fear of his life, yet till portrays Luther as hopeful. At most of the meetings, portrayed by Till, Luther seems confident that he will be able to sway the pope and others to his beliefs. At the meeting Luther stands before the council. They have all his works placed on a table. Luther is not given a chance to defend his positions, for the council will not hear it. He is only asked if the literature presented is of his penmanship. Luther admits that he is the author. Then the council asks him to recant of his works. In keeping with historical records, Luther does not recant. In fact, he informs them that they only way he will be swayed that he has erred is if they can show him with Biblical proof. Luther returned to Wittenberg, where Till portrays him as a hero. People, especially peasants seem to flock to him. At one point, a member of his congregation has a son who killed ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

According to Aristotle, a Greek philosopher, a tragic hero is a character of high rank and nobility, exhibits a tragic flaw, and recognizes how his actions led to his eventual downfall. William Shakespeare s The Tragedy of Julius Caesar incited a century old argument over who really deserves the title of The Tragic Hero. Many argue that Caesar is the tragic hero. However, I believe that Brutus should hold the title of tragic hero because he is a noble and respected man, he holds tragic flaw of poor judgment. But most importantly, what separates him from Caesar, is that he recognizes how these flaws and his decision to murder his leader resulted in his own demise. To accomplish their plan, the conspirators needed a noble man of high stature to justify their actions. The best man for the job was Brutus. Brutus was Caesar s best friend, loved by the people, and he loved the people back. Therefore, it only made sense for the conspirators to recruit Brutus guarantees the support of the Roman people. Cassius admits this too, Brutus shall lead, and we will grace his heels / With the most boldest and best hearts of Rome (3.1.135 136). As Hermia expresses in Act 3 Scene 2; What? Can you do me greater harm than hate? Hate me? O me, what news, my love? Am I not Hermia? Are you not Lysander? I am as fair now as I was erewhile. Since night you loved me; yet since night you left me. Why then you left me O the gods forbid! In earnest shall I say? (Lines 271 277). Hermia is deeply in love with Lysander, and he is too, deep down, but cannot express it because he thinks he is in love with Helena due to the love potion. In Act 3, Scene 2 Lysander challenges Demetrius with a sword fight; If thou say so, withdraw, and prove it too (Line 255). The competitiveness of both of the men to win over Helena is extremely romantic, even though neither of them are in love with her. It is flattering, yet immature that they are determining over a brawl who should get to be with Helena. They are treating her as an object, whereas they never asked Helena who she would want to marry, but took it upon themselves to decide who got to claim her as their prize. Another example of Lysander wanting to fight was in lines 413 420 (Act 3, Scene 2); He goes before me, and still dares me on; When I come where he calls, then he is gone. The villain is much lighter heel d than I; I follow fast, but faster he did fly, That fallen am I in dark uneven way, And here will rest me. Come, thou gently day, For if but once thou show me thy grey light I ll find Demetrius and revenge this spite (Lines 423 420). Lysander thinks that Demetrius was making him run around the forest to look for him to fight, though it was Puck who just wanted to make him tired so he could put the anti solution on his eyes. By 1850, Britain had changed in a number of social and economic ways, for a variety of reasons, primarily the industrial revolution as the historians O Brien and Quinault argue that Britain represented a potent example for Western Europe and the United States of what could be achieved highlighting British superiority and influence. Child labour during this period was a serious problem children as young as 4 were expected to work in factories in dangerous conditions with low pay. Working conditions were not only problematic for children, but also for adults, illustrated by Engels, who argues that the industrial epoch had created filth, ruin and uninhabitableness, the defiance of all considerations of cleanliness, ventilation, and health highlighting the unsanitary and unsafe surroundings. However, the government attempted to solve this problem with the Factory Acts of 1833. Housing also became a problem as many poor people lived in tiny houses, with extremely bad sanitation, which in turn led to tuberculosis, cholera, typhoid and lung disease. • 26. Nuclear Energy Is Energy Generated From The Fission Or... Nuclear Energy Jason Venturini April 6, 2016 What is nuclear energy? Nuclear energy is energy generated from the fission or fusion of enriched uranium. The power plants in which this type of energy is made are called nuclear power plants, but have many variations in how this energy is achieved. Almost all reactors use heat generated from the enriched uranium pellets to bring water to a boil, and use steam powered generators to create power. In Canada, the type of reactor used is called a Pressurized Heavy Water Reactor (PHWR), a method created by Canada in the 1950 s. In the next sections the inner workings of the PHWR method will be examined and its safety explained. How does PHWR work? As mentioned before, many nuclear reactors use enriched uranium. PHWR, however, does not for cost reasons as enrichment facilities for uranium are complicated, expensive and the PHWR method is much more efficient. It avoids the usage of enriched uranium through heavy water as a coolant instead of light water. Canada specific reactors, called CANDU (CANada Deuterium Uranium) reactors use 30 40% less fuel than light water based reactors. With the benefits of using heavy water out of the way, the complicated process of creating energy from small uranium pellets the size of half an AA battery will be explained as simply as possible. The process starts with hundreds of pellets being incased in metal, welded into small cylinders and inserted into a large tank called the calandria . Nuclear ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Overfishing And Its Effects On The Ocean Overfishing Leads to a Worldwide Oceanic Ecological Collapse People often take the ocean for granted due to its vastness since it makes up over seventy percent of the Earth, however the integrity of the ocean is deteriorating. One of the major, worldwide threats to the wellbeing of the ocean and its inhabitants is overfishing. Overfishing affects not only the ocean, but also the land dwellers. Many countries around the world depend on fish as their main source of food. Tons of fish are caught out of the sea daily, however, the rate that fish are being hauled is far too high where fish stocks are incapable of naturally recovering. There is a decline in population size of affected fish and some species have even faced extinction. Overfishing is the leading cause of ecological extinction, foregoing any other human disruptions to marine ecosystems, such as pollution, water degradation, and climate change (Jackson, et al). Overfishing causes an overwhelming devastation upon the oceans because it depletes food resources, disrupts the food web, and destroys habitats of aquatic organisms, due to this, overfishing causes an oceanic ecological collapse worldwide. Overfishing is not a problem that has recently arise, but a problem that started since the early 1800s. (Cisco, 2005) In many cases, Frame Relay is more efficient than X.25 and generally less expensive than ATM. • 37. Pros And Cons Of Museum Repatriation Controversy Museum Repatriation Controversy Museums are in a showdown with other countries over art, artifacts, and even culture. They are fighting over repatriation, the return of artifacts and other antiquities. One expert explains, There are those in favor of repatriation who say it is unethical to keep these artifacts. Others contend that such artifacts should remain in museums because they are part of a universal human history (Art and Cultural Repatriation). Having better more fair laws on cultural property and repatriation could lower looting and increase archeological dig sites to find even more antiquities. The individual country the artifact comes from, and the museum researching it, should be the only ones that can claim whether the artifact ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Author Svensson of On Craft and Art , believes that by giving back artifacts of cultural importance it will mean better environments for it to be in, and become a tourist attraction for these countries so they could get more money. Svensson also thinks that for the indigenous peoples that now have museums could finally have something to attract more people and promote sharing of the artifacts between other museums(par. 1). Along with Svensson s ideas there is also a problem with stopping museums from buying stolen artifacts and refusing to give them back. Henrik Bering noted, The traditional museum concept of universalism, the British cultural policy adviser Munira Mirza points out, is now associated with imperialistic values and the theft of other peoples identity, for which there is said to be only one remedy: to hand back our ill gotten gains (par. 16). Some museums feel it necessary to keep artifacts because they believe they could provide a better more suitable environment for the ancients works, underestimating the country of origin. • 38. The Motivation And Intrinsic Motivation All children are unique and learn in different ways, however, when it comes to their motivation they will most likely fall into one of two categories. Extrinsic motivation revolves around grades and points and competition, and intrinsic motivation stems more from personal interests, sense of belonging, and passion to grow. (Carol Dweck). Roman, an 11 year old high functioning autistic child, had no desire to participate in any class learning when I began working with him. He only excitedly and willingly participated when the situation was mandatory or if rewards were included. Roman s motivation to learn increased when I approached teaching activities in a different way. By incorporating more of Roman s interests, team based activities, ... When rules are provided to the children in an autonomy supportive way (explanatory rationales, and acknowledgment of the children s perspectives and feelings) there is no decrease in engagement as opposed to children who do not have their input included. (Skinner and Belmot 1999). Personal interest, opinions, and overall intrinsic factors are why Roman started becoming eager and excited to engage and try new things. Including more team based activities helped Roman feel a sense of belonging and safety. Maintaining a high ratio of positive statements as well as expressing respect for all students, builds trust in the classroom. (Evertson, C. M., Emmer, E. T). By implementing activities that had more of a collaborative process, peer encouragement and help were more evident and motivation can increase when everyone feels safe and helps each other. (Hagelskamp, C. 51 (3 4), 530 54). Roman began not fearing participating in activities once he knew that everyone supported each other and their input. Additionally, educational games where students cheer on their teammates boosted self esteem, and the emotional well being of students can influence the quality of their participation.
