The Causes Of The Renaissance And The Scientific Revolution
There are many different kinds of turning points in history that changed many society. These turning
points affected and advanced the lives of many people and the different time period they lived in. The
Renaissance and the Scientific Revolution both were major turning points because they both have a
huge impact on the advancement of people s life and their knowledge.
The Renaissance was huge turning point that impacted society since it changed the daily and social
life of many people. During the 14th century, Italy became a place that is very powerful with business
and had strong political powers because it was a huge trading center. This started an time where Italy
and some of Europe became prosperous in economics which is called as The Renaissance. There was
many causes to the Renaissance but the one cause is the influence from Greeks and Romans since
Ancient Greece studied history and are famous historians, it influenced people to do the same. Another
important cause is that people embrace the idea of human and life is more important than religion.
This also led to people shifting their focus from religious belief to secular ideas. People also really
wanted to accomplish their own achievements with their own power. Lastly, a disease known as The
Black Death is also a cause since it ended the system of feudalism and allowed people to find new
ways to climb up the social class especially in places where social mobility much greater than other
places. As a result, people s life became more and more prosperous . People who had shifted their
focus to non religious ideas accomplishes many things and some who became artists were also very
successful. The city Florence that is in Italy was a place where art florised. Many important figures
and wealthy families acquired their status and their famed recognition, would patronize arts by paying
an artist to create an impressive work of art. This was to mainly to show off their limitless amount of
wealthy. This led to an increase in trade which also meant that many cities grew in size and can
provide more jobs to people. Wealth became a symbol for power, wealth and prestige. In the

Comparing The Works Of Jackie Robinson And Thomas Cole
People throughout history, who are the first to do, make, or renovate existing ideas have been known
as pioneers. Two well known pioneers in history are Jackie Robinson and Thomas Cole. Jackie
Robinson diversified the game of baseball, by being the first African American to play Major League
Baseball. Robinson was a big inspiration to many people around the country, and nation. Thomas Cole
pushed the limits by creating landscape paintings unlike any seen before, and creating the Hudson
River School, which was a group of landscape painters founded in 1801. While both Thomas Cole,
and Jackie Robinson strived to make a difference in the world, Robinson worked to diversify the game
of baseball through his dedication to and passion of the game, ... Show more content on

The Hudson River School was a group of American landscape painters, founded in 1820, by Cole.
Thomas Cole mentored many people at the Hudson River School, for many years. One person Cole
mentored was Frederic Church, another great American Landscape painter (Cole, Thomas). He
changed the way Americans viewed nature, by creating a new way to show, or represent nature in
paintings (Thomas Cole). He created new landscape paintings, unlike any paintings ever seen before.
This was big for the art community, because it was a new to everybody, and helped show nature more
vividly. His new paintings he created were much more detailed, and colorful than any landscape
paintings seen before (Thomas Cole). Cole helped inspire many young artist through his leadership,

2012 Midland City, Dothan Alabama. At the age of eight years old. It was a hot day. So hot you could
see people cooking up in the sun. That didn t stop us little 3rd graders from playing outside, on the
playground. On the playground there are some gymnasts bars. Their is a small one, medium one, and a
large one. I was the Queen of the small and medium gymnasts bars. This day I was going to attempt
something new. Me,Samari(my sister) and Evan are doing the gymnast bars. All the other kids are
watching and cheering use on. I was doing so many moves I felt like I was a gymnast. The rules were
who does good moves on the small bar would get 100 points, the medium bars equal 1,000 points, and
the large on equals one trillion. Everybody know that no one would get on the large bars but boy were
they wrong. Samari was doing the small and medium bars Evan was doing the same thing. I got up on
the large bar and hung upside down. People started to cheer.
I said, why are y all falling off the earth?
They all started to laugh. It was beginning to get super intense. All my blood was dropping to my
head. Then the wind started to blow and Evan came by and pushed me and my legs got loose and I fell
down. My chest hit a rock. It felted like a knife drove into my chest and two my heart. I landed on the

Essay on Struggle of American Women for Equality
To an onlooker, it may seem that the struggle of American women is essentially over. It is a fact of
American Society, and also all functioning societies, that it will behave in such a way as to ensure its
own continued existence. In accordance with post modern Sociology, the system will move with us,
against us, or in spite of us; instead of benevolence or malevolence towards individuals or groups, it is
more interested with self preservation. Therefore, when women as a group make an advance in
society, they have done so in a way that benefits society as a whole, but not necessarily women as a
group. As such, it can be noted that the struggle of women for equality in American Society is not
over. Not as long as women are still ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Wade case. With that, the Supreme Court decided that the right for women to seek an abortion was
protected by her right to privacy. This landmark decision, along with the legalization of the birth
control pill in 1970, was considered a victory for the Women s Movement. However, the triumph must
be seen in context. As aforementioned, the system moves to preserve itself. In the late 1960s and early
1970s, many people in a position of power, including President Richard Nixon, were concerned at the
time about a rapidly growing population, especially the growing urban populace which was by and
large composed of Blacks and members of the lower class. Legalized abortion and the contraceptive
pill were seen as adequate methods to stem the growth in population among the unfavorable people
(Solinger, 2005). In fact, little changed for white and middle class women who had for many years
been able to receive abortions by skilled doctors willing to perform the procedure in private. Audre
Lorde, author of Age, Race, Class, and Sex, points out that Black women are the primary targets of
abortion and sterilization abuse. (p. 69) The result has been another method of control of the lower
strata by the top and the social victory for women in this case has been marginal at best.
The political victory of women has been less perceptible than the great social victories. Women today
can be seen holding positions of great

The Concepts Of Column Oriented Databases
Abstract: This documents explores the concepts of column oriented databases including its
applications, advantages, and tools in which it is utilized. We describe how it differs from other
database structures, and why it has become popular in the area of data analytics.
Introduction
The ever widening realm of big data has created an expanding frontier of exploration for the creation
of new methods of data analysis in order to produce actionable knowledge for the benefit of
organizations everywhere. Companies amass enormous troves of data every day. Keeping this data
housed in a fashion that maximizes storage efficiency and in a format optimized for query and analysis
is paramount for effective data warehousing. Many database structures exist for the storage,
arrangement, and accessing of data, but large databases and online analytical processing (OLAP)
benefit from specific qualities. In these databases, compression and rapid querying are the main
enabling qualities sought for analytical data stores and data warehouses. Columnar (or column
oriented) relational databases (RDBMS) offer these and other benefits, which is why it is a popular
database scheme for analytical systems. Specifically, the vertical arrangement of records is optimal for
selecting the sum, average, or a count of total record attributes because one horizontal read yields all
values of an attribute. Otherwise, a physical disk must seek over and past unwanted attributes of the
records to provide the same

Essay On Social Classes In The Roman Empire
Research paper essay
Citizens in the Roman Empire separated from the wealth, house, and classes they are in. This kind of
social structure was continued in a Rome empire for a long time especially for the slavery. Roman
social structure affects the world today because there are still slaves and social classes. They are not
exactly the same, but it replaces other kinds of social structure. This kind of social structure is kept
continuing today. By comparing social classes in Rome such as patrician, plebeian, and slaves to the
social classes today which are capitalist, middle class, and slavery, people are still held by the social
structure today.
In Roman Empire, there were 3 different classes, and patricians were the one of the highest social

the Plebeians try to save money to go up to the higher classes, nevertheless, they are mostly struggling
with their daily life. For the Plebeians, it doesn t matter they had little power on account of there are
majority of them. Sometimes when the high classes people are having a hard time, lots of plebeians
trying to fight against the upper classes to take over the power. Plebeians now replace as a middle
class. They have middle incomes, also they have some saving money. The government doesn t support
them about food, or money issues, and they have a house ownership. Their kids can have good
educations that they can at least graduate the college. Plebeians somehow change a lot over time,
today middle class is not clear. Some of the wealthy people think they are in the middle class, and
some of the middle class think that they are poor. Plebeians and middle classes people are just normal
citizens. Reasonably, both classes wanted to have more money, they never think they have enough

Being a fan of Chuck Norris prior to doing this book reflection, I was intrigued with reading his book
on religion. The Secret Power Within: Zen Solutions to Real Problems turned out to be a captivating
read. Throughout the book, Norris details his personal struggles and triumphs as well as how he was
able to find Zen despite personal turmoil. Through studying martial arts, Norris became familiar with
Zen (the core philosophy behind martial arts) ultimately changing his life forever. His own personal
experience with the philosophy of Zen gives readers an inside look into the power of Zen and how it
can be applied to everyday life. Ultimately, it was through Zen Buddhism that Chuck Norris was able

Bigelow s Use Of Mise-En-Scene In The Hurt Locker
In Kathryn Bigelow s film, The Hurt Locker, the director utilizes Mise En Scene to create a constant
presence of danger and unease throughout the film. With the goal to show the horrific reality of war,
Bigelow used specific elements such as characters outfits, lighting, types of camera techniques, setting
and overall pacing are the directors strongest weapons in creating the pressing tension felt in her film.
James, the films main character is the lens which Bigelow uses to show the audience the pain that war
causes for both sides of the fight. Bigelow shows how war can change someone so much, altering
them to the point to where they no longer feel welcome upon their return. From the beginning of this

James is thrown in between the warzone and a presumably American supermarket, where shock and
sterility is felt, contrasting the two worlds that James is a part of. James is surrounded by poverty and
suffering while in Iraq, a result of the war that he is fighting in. When it cuts to the supermarket,
James is clean in civilian clothing and surrounding by a cornucopia of food. The lighting is also used
to show the difference between the two places. Iraq is a place covered in a layer of dirt and sand while
the supermarket is a stark bright white, showing off the cleanliness of the land. Right before it cuts to
the supermarket scene James is riding in the car in the dark, making the viewer focus on what is
shown and making it feel controlled. Then when it shifts to the supermarket, we are greeted with a
sense of lost when presented with the seemingly endless rows of food. The elements of brightness,
color, dress and pace create conflict with each other. The audience can tell that while Iraq is a chaotic
mess, James is happy in it because it is his identity. Back in America he has no purpose, no drive. Like
many veterans, the surrealistic nature that is felt upon leaving war is impressed onto the audience and
we to begin to understand the feeling of alienation in one s own home. We are given a glimpse into

The Writings of Sigmund Freud
Sigmund Freud remains a figure whose influence it is hard to over state. While many of his ideas in
the field of depth psychology, a field he largely created, have been compromised and challenged over
the course of the 20th century his influence remains palpable. We continue to use terms that Freud
originated almost unthinkingly concepts of frustration, aggression, guilt, anxiety, projection, defence
mechanisms and the unconscious remain dominant. Few of Freud s writings touch on matters of direct
interest to international relations but those that do have not only provided compelling arguments on
the origins of war, society and violence but continue to be of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

He recognised the conflict between the freedom of the individual and the order imposed by society.
The emergence of civilisation is dependent on the repression of our instinctual drives. Like religion,
society institutionalises systems of rules which affect us from our youngest days and imbue us with a
counter instinctual sense of right and wrong . The denial of our urges leads to the accumulation of aim
inhibited libinal energy which provides the necessary potency to bind individuals together in a social
group and counter acts their violent desires. What is important for Freud is that the drive to
aggressiveness is as natural and immutable in human nature as the sex drive. He observed that
individuals can, and do, derive satisfaction from violent action when circumstances conspire to
remove social restrictions*. The internalisation of aggression produces guilt and discontent which can
only be mitigated by directing aggression outwards against another as violence. He writes that for
individuals their neighbour is...not only a potential helper or sexual object, but also someone who
tempts them to satisfy their aggressiveness on him, to exploit his capacity to work without
compensation, to use him sexually without his consent, to seize his possessions, to humiliate him....to
torture and kill him [1]. Man is wolf to man. Civilisation then, if it is to

Aortic Insufficiency Lab Report
Introduction
Aortic insufficiency is a condition where the aortic valve does not close all the way. The aortic valve is
a gate like structure that is located between the lower left chamber of the heart (left ventricle) and the
blood vessel that leads away from the heart (aorta). The aortic valve opens when the left ventricle
squeezes to pump blood into the aorta, and it closes when the left ventricle relaxes.
In aortic insufficiency, blood in the aorta leaks through the aortic valve after it has closed. As a result,
the heart works harder to pump the same amount of blood through the valve as it would if the valve
closed tightly. When left untreated, aortic insufficiency causes enlargement and weakening of the left
ventricle. When this happens, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Electrocardiography. This is a test that records the electrical impulses of the heart.
Angiography. This is a test that produces images of arteries in your body. You may need aortic
angiography or CT angiography. In aortic angiography, a dye flows to your heart through a soft,
flexible tube (catheter) while X rays are taken. CT angiography uses a CT scanner and MRI in
addition to the catheter, dye, and X rays.
How is this treated?
Treatment depends on how severe the aortic insufficiency is, the problems it is causing, and your
symptoms.
Observation. If the aortic insufficiency is mild, no treatment may be needed. However, you will need
to have the condition checked regularly to make sure it is not getting worse or causing serious
problems.
Surgery. If the aortic insufficiency becomes severe, you may need surgery to repair or replace the
valve. Surgery is usually recommended if the left ventricle enlarges beyond a certain point. If aortic
insufficiency occurs suddenly, surgery may be needed immediately.
Medicines. Some medicines may help the heart work more efficiently.
Follow these instructions at home:
Keep all follow up visits as directed by your health care provider. You may need to have tests done
regularly to monitor your condition and how well your heart is pumping

Medea Essay
Euripides always expressed his point of views towards the culture of Ancient Greeks, mostly hatred
and enmity. However his safety was a major concern due to the irrational behaviour of the ancient
Greeks and his close friends and family members. Thus he expressed his notions by giving speaking
power to his characters. Medea has been given the same property. In Medea, Euripides discusses
exclusively about the gender segregation and inequality. He criticises men for considering themselves
a dominant figure of the society. However this criticism is presented in form of a tragedy which
unfolds in the city of Corinth. Medea, a contrast of the ancient Greek women, shows the
empowerment and courage of women by executing her own blood. After she was ... Show more

This power provided her a strong base to plan for revenge from Jason. As mentioned, her cruelty had
no set boundaries and limitations. Thus she didn t hesitate to continue with her cruel plan and
murdered the princess in attempt to revenge Jason. Executing her plan was a suicidal attempt and
hence she managed to escape due to her future planning. This symbolises the true ambition and desire
of Medea and her determination and so Euripides also conveys his ideology about women. Medea, a
distinct character conveys strong message across the audience and allows them to reconsider the legal
rights of women. Not in the modern era but in the ancient times, recognition of women was a major
dilemma for the society. Other than that Euripides tries to justify Medea s evilness by providing
reasons and by letting Medea express her love for Jason. She chooses vengeance over law, this doesn t
only show the dignity of Medea, it also presents the deep emotions of hers which conquered her mind
and forced her to commit an unforgivable crime. After all she did for Jason, she only asked for his
loyalty and integrity. Upon Jason s betrayal, Medea shattered into pieces as she trusted Jason and his
moral values. Jason s compelling behaviour turned Medea into an evil who later turns into a murderer
of the royal family and her own

Crowd Individuality Essay
It is human nature to acclimate to one s surroundings, but this instinct has created non individualized
activities amongst the public, leaving the non thought provoking state of mind of society (Orwell).
The naive stay happy, tradition brings normality, and a lack of self expression leaves the mind at ease,
for there is no one to reject it. Crowd mentality has driven society since the Stone Age, and throughout
the course of history writers have recorded such mentalities and behaviors loving and/or criticizing it.
George Orwell is not the only author to critique society s forced state of being; many others have an
apparent disapproval and criticism for society in their writings as well. Each one reflects a different

There is quite blatantly a mental disconnection of a whole town and is far as to have one is even
insulted for questioning it. Mark Twain is society s biggest critique as his whole book Adventures of
Huckleberry Finn is his disapproval of it. In one the many adventures, he stumbles across the
Grangerford s and the Sheperdson s feud, and he exposes their ignorance when Huck asked Buck why
there was a feud. Buck responds with I reckon maybe I don t know (Twain 168) and eventually Huck
witnesses the consequences of choosing to accept traditions without question and it ends in many
pointless deaths. One can see that the trend in blind tradition can end in unfortunate consequences.
Huck s young friend was willing to die for an aimless cause. When a little boy is embedded with a
mentality to fight till death since he was born, something is morally wrong with the social norms of
their society. Another ordeal in the family feud in Huckleberry Finn was that if one chose to befriend a
Sheperdson, they would be out casted from the family and heavily ridiculed as if they committed a
form of betrayal. For example, when Miss Sophia plotted to run away with a Sheperdson, one could
only imagine what would have happened to her if they had

The Secret Scripture Analysis
Although the novel The Secret Scripture written by Sebastian Barry is constantly alternating between
past and present, the transition happens quickly and smoothly. This is due to the narrator s use of the
relationship with the past and what is happening during the present. What starts as the present bleeds
into the past through Roseanne s hidden biography. The way on page sixty, how she is in the past
remembering when her father was demoted to a rat catcher. Then page sixty one the reader is in the
present again, but it s not random. She is saying how clearly she remembers that day. Then on that
same page she jumps back to remembering how prideful her father was of his job in the cemetery. You

Heavy metal poisoning is nothing new. It has been known for centuries that some heavy metal
compounds are quite toxic to people. A particularly infamous and widely known heavy metal is lead.
Lead has been a particular useful element in early human history. It saw many uses from making
jewelry to the height of its use in the ancient world as Roman plumbing. Most people would shudder
at the thought of drinking water from lead pipes with all the hysteria associated with lead; however,
lead pipes or more commonly lead solder are still around today though mainly in outdated water lines
that have been grandfathered. Oddly enough, the Romans were actually aware of the toxic properties
of lead. Lead workers were even described as being notoriously ... Show more content on

It rather is becoming a problem due to pollution. A recent and highly publicized lead poisoning case
was that of Flint, Michigan s water supply. Lead poisoning in the U.S. is generally caused by

solder. Absorption of lead into water has been found proportional to the temperature of the water.
Unsurprisingly, the warmer the water, the higher the lead concentration; however, the change in lead
concentration compared to the temperature shift is quite surprising. Ơ Between 10 and 23 degrees
Celsius, it has been shown that a 1 degree shift in temperature can change the dissolved lead

Sychar, while waiting for His disciples to go into town for food. An unnamed Samaritan woman came
to draw water at a well. She hated facing others because the Jews despised her people, and she was an
outcast looked down upon even by her own people. This woman was ostracized and marked as
immoral, an unmarried woman living openly with the sixth in a series of men. She could not have
guessed the surprise she was about to encounter that day.
An Offer She Couldn t Refuse
Grace often comes as a surprise when we are least expecting it. When the Samaritan woman appeared
with clay jar in hand, Jesus made a simple request: Will you give me a

Periodized heavy resistance training was performed for 12 wk. Creatine or placebo capsules were
consumed 25 grams per day for 1 wk followed by a maintenance dose of 5 grams per day for the
remainder of the training. RESULTS: After 12 wk, significant increases in body mass and fat free
mass were greater in creatine than placebo subjects. After 12 wks, increases in bench press and squat
were greater in creatine subjects. Compared with placebo subjects, creatine subjects demonstrated
significantly greater increases in muscle total, creatine concentrations were unchanged in placebo
subjects. Muscle creatine was significantly elevated after 1 wk in creatine subjects (22%), and values
remained significantly greater than placebo subjects after 12 wk. Average volume lifted in the bench
press during training was significantly greater in creatine subjects during weeks 5 8. No negative side
effects to the supplementation were reported. CONCLUSION: Creatine supplementation enhanced fat
free mass, physical performance, and muscle morphology in response to heavy resistance training,
presumably mediated via higher quality training sessions. This study was conducted by Richard B.

Issue #3
Project Management Training
Nick seems very excited about the project that Warren is proposing and the fact that he is being
entrusted with this new venture. However, he is clearly unqualified and overwhelmed. Warren says all
of the complex things that Nick is in charge of, but he says you have plenty of time for planning.
There are a couple of issues here. First that Warren hasn t been very specific with the details regarding
the scope, budget, and timing. The other issue is that Nick doesn t have any experience managing a
project like this and this is important to CanGo s success.
Resolution
Nick needs to tell Warren that he needs more specific information on scope, timing, and budget for the
project. He also needs some Project Management training to create a Microsoft Project WBS to
outline all of the tasks and assign resources to determine if the project is feasible and in the best
interest of the organization. Creating the WBS and Gantt chart will also help determine if they have
the necessary resources in house to do the work or if it is better to outsource some of the project to
offset some of the risks. Right now, Nick doesn t have any visibility into everything that needs to be
accomplished to complete the project without a plan, nor can he anticipate any risks that would
prohibit them from successfully completing the project. By creating a project plan Nick can identify
all tasks, dependencies, costs, and

Long comforters have obvious advantages, especially for people who are larger, with a large bed or

Critical Role Of Disease Prevention In The United States
People living with prevalent chronic conditions such as heart disease, cancer, diabetes, stroke, and
chronic lung disease account for 75% of healthcare expenditures in the United States (Ahn, Basu,
Smith, Luohua, Loring, Whitelaw, Ory, 2013) . Preventing disease has the potential to significantly
reduce healthcare cost. Healthy people do not visit the doctor s office or emergency room as much as
an individual with a chronic disease or illness, which decreases healthcare cost. It is important that
people are educated on how to live a healthy lifestyle, and make better choices in order to prevent
disease and illness from occurring.

Primary prevention stops the disease from occurring. Several gaps in the healthcare system exist, and
patients are not receiving preventative care and screenings to prevent mortality and morbidity (Owens,
Beckles, Ho, Gorrell, Brady, and Kaftarian, 2008). It should be the individual s responsibility to
maintain a healthy lifestyle, but patients depend on their doctors to provide step by step instruction on
how to stay healthy. Many medical physicians do not promote disease prevention and health
promotion. Instead, prescription medications and surgery are the only treatments being offered. Dr. Oz
stated on one of his shows that he was trained to always persuade the patient to have surgery. It was
called heal with steel. Medication can sometimes cause worse symptoms than the disease itself. Many
people are turning to naturopathic or holistic doctors that provide natural treatments to their
conditions. Functional medicine physicians focus on the root cause of the problem, and treat the
disease with supplements and diet changes. The goal of a functional medicine doctor is to reverse
disease, and teach the patients how to live a healthy life style forever. Diseases that have been reversed
are rheumatoid arthritis, multiple sclerosis, thyroid conditions, chohn s disease, cancer, and many

Love At First Sight In Nobel By Mabel Sparknotes
Love at first sight is when two people meet eye to eye and instantly connect amongst each other. In the
beginning of the narrative Mabel s brothers are aggressively mean to her, questioning her every move
towards her next plans after the selling of their house. With every question, a cold answer would
follow. It was clear that Mabel was misunderstood from her relatives and now more than ever she felt

characters, I would assume something very magical would occur later on in the story because of their

Thailand so I had to do research fast since we re leaving May 15th and coming home the 21st.
Thailand is a country in the Southeast part of Asia. It is split up into two different sections, the
Northern part which is the main part, and a smaller peninsula that is an extension to the Southern part.
Their climates are rainy and warm since they are in the Monsoon climate zone. During May it is
expected to be rainy, and sunny with a high of 89 degrees and a low of 77 degrees. Thailand is filled
with big, beautiful mountains that in the North and South form the Himalayas According to Map Fight

violent and 42% of adolescents play them ( Children and Video Games ). These violent video games

If people are viewing the world as a hostile and violent place then they are not able to grow and
develop relationships with others in their lives. They are gaining beliefs that their life outside of
violent video games wants them to fail, and that society is unable to understand their way of life.
Violent video games are destroying the possibility of relationships between people. 90% of video
games portray violence. Our brain sometimes doesn t distinguish between what is real and what we
see on TV (Barclay). This is a scary realization because it shows that what we watch and play on TV
can have a very harmful effect on our lives. Our brain is sometimes unable to recognize what is real
and what is not, which in turn will not be able to help determine when a violent situation is occurring
and when one is not.
Violent video games do not promote prosocial behavior between humans. Violent video games have
contributed to fatal actions. Mika Brzezinski said, It s kind of hard not to make a connection [between
games and the Navy Yard Shooting] when you hear [the shooter s] friend saying that he would watch
on a life size screen these violent video games for hours and hours and hours and hours and hours

specifically the Washington Navy Yard shooting. Instead of helping each other some violent video

Kaku (Di) Islands Dispute
15 Der., D:014
Since the cusp of the Diplomatic Age a century ago, Ælfe Ork relations have taken a turn for the
worse. Two Ælfe Ork wars humiliated the Ælves, resulting in loss of territory to a culture the
Ælves deemed derivative and inferior to their own. Part of that lost territory was the Kaku, or Di 1
Islands, largely barren landmasses significant for their strategic location between the two states, and
the meaning they have come to hold in power relations between the Ælves and the Orks. Relations 2
between the two states have become even more strained in recent years, as increasingly vocal Orkish
nationalists refuse to acknowledge the dispute, and express pride in the military aggression of the
Orkish Empire. As a corollary, the Orkish nationalists pride in past military conquests means to the

injustices committed by the Orkish Empire s military. In the D:90 s during the Ælves rise to 3
economic power, the Ælves responded to the ongoing dispute by deferring conflict in order to

Cultural Values In Beowulf
Each individual culture has many cultural truths that a group of people follow and believe in. Cultural
truths are principles, values, or standards important to a group of people, which display moral
behaviors that are respected and immoral actions that are scorned at. Also, cultural truths are norms in
a society that you are born into and are expected to do daily because they shape the lifestyle of a
group. For example, during the Anglo Saxon period, there were a number of cultural truths that were
applied to everyday actions and attitudes. An epic poem, composed based on the Anglo Saxon period
called Beowulf, written by an unknown author translated by Seamus Heaney, depicts many of the
cultural values of the time period. In the poem, is it revealed that all the cultural values in the Anglo
Saxon culture are developed from the idea of a warrior culture. The epic poem is about a hero named
Beowulf from the Geats tribe who goes off and helps Hrothgar and the Danes defeat a monster,
Grendel, who attacks their mead hall. Before Beowulf meets his fate he fights three monsters, which
includes Grendel, to protect the lives of people in two different tribes. Within the epic poem Beowulf,
there are several of cultural values presented and focused on such as, courage in battle, fidelity to one
s word, and loyalty to kinsmen, which are all demonstrated by Beowulf. To begin, a cultural truth
admired by the Anglo Saxon is courage in battle because it is a trait of a good warrior in the eyes of
Anglo Saxon people. Courage in battle is the ability to not be afraid of the enemy, be strong, and
brave. Beowulf shows his above average strength and courage in battle when he is going to battle
Grendel: When it comes to battle, I count myself/ as dangerous any day as Grendel,/ ... No weapons,
therefore,/ for either this night: unarmed he shall face me/ if face me he dares (Beowulf 677 685). In
this quote Beowulf states and declares his abandonment of weapons, as well as his belief that he is as
strong as Grendel, so he will fight him without a weapon. This shows Beowulf s courage in battle
because it displays his tremendous strength and boldness by going to fight a monster with no weapons,
which demonstrates that he is not

Battle Of Ap Bac Essay
The Battle of Ap Bac The battle of Ap Bac was a small battle engaged between the Army of the
Republic of Vietnam (ARVN) and the insurgents, or the People Liberation Armed Forces (Viet Cong
AKA VC) with the assistance of American s weapons and advice during the Vietnam War. It took
place on 2 January, 1963, near a small village named Ap Bac which is located approximately 65 km
southwest of Saigon in the Mekong Delta. (Starry, 2002). As a senior leader, it is important that we
have to be technically and tactically proficient. In order to be proficient, we not only need to be
trained, but also we have to know how to gain experience from past battles in history using battle
assessment, and critical thinking process to study the battle. That way, we know what needs to be
improved, how to sustain it, and how would we execute it better next time. Therefore, studying the
history of the battle of Ap Bac will enhance the knowledge of how the commanders used the most
effective and efficient method for applying decisive action on the battle field. It would be a successful
outcome for the South Vietnamese ARVN, and Kennedy s administration would have gained more
trust from American people for the presence of American troops in Vietnam, if the American advisers
and the ARVN s commanders would have integrated intelligence preparation of the battlefield (ITP)

The Negative Psychological Effects Of Police Uniforms On...
The Negative psychological effects of the police uniform on the Canadian Society
The uniform worn by a police officer often psychologically embodies each individual s stereotypes
about the officer s authority, status, and motivations. In this formal paper I will be exploring the cause
of negative perceptions that Canadian minorities have on police uniforms.
Introduction
Most individuals can identify a police officer by their uniform, which subconsciously conveys power
and authority. People in a presence of a police officer tend to hide or stop any illegal, deviant
activities, because of the sudden worry of getting caught. Canada is a place of numerous cultures, and
ethnicities that fused together to create a strong sense of multiculturalism, but depending on the
background and social status of the individual the police uniform can deliver various emotions that
can either be either positive or negative. To some citizens a sight of the police uniform can bring
instant fear and anger, which can be triggering or traumatic for those who have experienced
oppression (Kingsley,2017). These perceptions essentially create a stigma that has less favourable
views of the police for the minority groups such as, the Aboriginal peoples, the LGBTQ community,
and individuals that immigrated from other counties.
Effect on Aboriginal Community Aboriginal peoples in Canada, have historically been and continue to
be victims of political injustices which now characterize the Canadian Society.

The Process Of Sol-Gel Processing
Sol gel processing is prevented by nanomakes particles which causes pores surface with controlled
pore size ranging from few nanometers to tens of nanometers to allow biomolecules loading. The
dynamic light scattering (DLS) particle size analyzer (Malvern Instruments, Malvern, UK) will be
used for size characterization, polydispersity index (PDI), and the zeta potential of SHMNCs. In
addition, SHMNCs can be visualized by scanning electron micrograph (SEM) method (Fig. 9 B C).
The Number of pores on each SHMNC can be varied by changing the ratio of masks and interior
templates molar concentration [23].
Synthesize of SHMNCs is illustrated in (Fig. 9): 1. Mixing of positively charged amine functionalized

Hence, different size of SHMNCs need to be fabricated (Table 2). The pores size on the surface of
SHMNCs are controllable by choosing different nanomasks diameter. The size of each pore will be
approximately around 25 35% of nanomask diameter. For instance, using 100, 60 and 40 nm
nanomasks diameter, result mesoporous of 30±4, 20±3 and 12±2 nm in diameter, respectively [23].
The pore size should not be smaller than the maximum length of enzyme which needs to be loaded in
SHMNCs. Here, since the maximum size of enzyme is 12.2 nm (CaMKII), the pores size cannot be
less than 12 nm. Therefore, the 40 nm nanomask is the smallest nanomask that will be applied to
create SHMNCs.

permanent address. Married to Umesh Danwar ( age 62 years) 30 years ago, they have five children;
Madhav Danwar age 28 years, Sheela Danwar age 25 years, Ramesh Danwar age 22 years, Bikash
Danwar age 21 years and Meena Danwar age 16 years. Sita Devi comes from poor socio economic

Only thing that came into their mind was about their children future and dream. Umesh was
determined to go through the surgery as soon as possible but as for Sita Devi she had no idea what
was going to happen her. They requested for the doctors to provide some concessions on their
treatment cost. Though the doctor did not showed much of the positive hope in full financial support
but gave mouthful of assurance to provide the best treatment in minimal cost. There are many cases
where fake victims gets the aid in the name of poor economic status, even the recent case of
earthquake aid where fake earthquake sufferers claimed the money provided by the government.
These stories are not so unique in our society where the real victims and sufferers suffer more and
more and make them questionable when they genuinely ask help with honesty. Same situation was
applied to Sita Devi and Umesh, doctors were not sure whether they were the real sufferers or the fake
ones. But their tears made doctors to rethink about the financial support. After multiple interviews and
documents, social service department of Patan Hospital agreed to give them 60% discount on their

Summary Of The Operational Failures Of Whittaker s Chocolate
1.0 Introduction
Operations management (OM) is critical for the successful output of products and services. At the core
of OM are efficiency, quality and cost, which should be administered well to generate efficiency at all
levels of production (Kaplan Norton, 2015). But when a company experiences internal or external
challenges that impede the execution of the three fundamentals of OM, then the business may
experience adverse effects. This is what was experienced by Whittaker s Chocolate in 2015 when the
company s sales declined due to a drastic increase in the prices of chocolate that reduced the rate of
demand (McConnell Clayton, 2016). For a company that has established a brand that thrives on
economical and quality chocolate, the increase in prices reduced the sales. In addition, the lack of
communication with the customers added to situation as the prices had been stable for a while.
Although the increase in prices is attributed to a more refined taste through a supply of expensive
ingredients the company would have still maintained the cost and averted declined sales. This divulges
an operational problem to do with supply chain and customer relations. This report analyses the
operational failures of Whittaker s Chocolate and provides recommendations for improvement.
2.0 Whittaker s Operational Failures
This sections discusses the operational failures that led to the sales decline of Whittaker s chocolate.
The failures are linked to product and service

Our experiences have taught us to accept what is our reality based on the interpretation of information
from our five senses which most of us, end up living as the fullness of our existence. There are those
of us who at some point throughout our lives, do question our purpose on this earth but manage
however, to distract ourselves with a continuous barrage of external stimuli therefore, do not summon
the courage or determination to explore the inner reality of our unseen existence. Believe it or not,
most of us go through our lives on automation, like robots really reacting to situations in predictable
ways as a result of, information we have accepted in our subconscious minds as the truth about

Deaf Reflection Essay
Before starting this class, I had no prior knowledge of anything regarding the deaf community. I
wanted to learn more about the culture and learn to converse in sign language because it was going to
benefit me in the long run. However, I ve never been able to not hear before or had my hearing altered
or manipulated before. I ve never been in complete silence trying to communicate. I ve never had to
try and decipher what someone is trying to say to me without some form of verbal communication.
Once I came into the class and we did some activities, I was shocked with some of my reactions.
Before I took the American Deaf Culture Quiz , I skimmed it and tried to see if there were any
questions that I knew the answers to. Overall, I didn t do quite so bad, I only missed a handful of
questions, which I m surprised in a good way because I don t really know anything about the deaf
culture. Originally going through the quiz, I answered each question with my best guess and when we
went over the quiz, I was shocked with some of the answers to the questions, more so some of the
questions I had gotten wrong. I was most surprised with the statistics of how many members of the
deaf community marry each other. I was also surprised at the fact that it is okay to walk through two
deaf people conversing with each other instead of finding another path. I thought that was also
interesting. I learned a lot from the quiz in the few minutes I took it and the little bit of time the class
took to

El Greco Essay
El Greco The Agony In the Garden, a mannerist style of art by EL Greco, proclaims a sense of
spiritual power of religious faith which accomplishes El Greco s aim to move his audience. El Greco
was born on the island of Crete and lived from 1541 to 1614. He represented the most characteristic
figure of Spanish Mannerism. El Greco was influenced by and became acquainted with the art of
Titian and Jacopo Bassano in Venice where he studied in 1566. In addition to visiting Italy, El Greco
made his way to Rome,
Parma and probably Florence. On his travels he became more familiar with the work of
Parmigianino and the work of Correggio. In El Greco s use of form can be seen
Florentine Mannerism. Venetian Mannerism can be seen in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The Biblical occurrence illustrated is standardized on two levels, one above the other. The group of the
three sleeping apostles fill the lower plane. We find comparable groups of apostles in pictures by
Giovanni Bellini. El Greco returns to Quattrocento etiquette, especially in the manner in which the
sleeping gray haired apostle bends his arm around his head.
Of the abundant versions of this painting in the artist s own hand there is a smaller copy in the
Museum at Lille, and other variants are to be found in the Episcopal palace in the Museum of Fine
Arts in Buenos Aires. The variant most similarly related to the painting in Budapest is the larger scale
version in the Church of Santa Maria at Andujar which displays other works of mannerist art.
The mannerist style thrived at the same time as High Renaissance and Baroque art. Mannerism, like
many other names attached to so many other periods of art, was a name conceived in disdain and
impudence. Maniera, meaning maner, was correlated with the artist who worked in the manner of
someone else. Like an imitator who adapted and sometimes perfected the forms of another. However,
there are characteristics of the
Mannerist style which disconnected it from the period of the High Renaissance as well as the
distinguishing it from the emerging Baroque. A number of crucial artist of
Mannerism have displayed meaningful works. Only in the last ninety years has
Mannerism come to be

Ukiyo E Influence On Society
For over 250 years, Japan was under a strict military dictatorship, oppressing the social classes of their
freedom to explore literature and the arts. However, from the 1670s through 1865 was the Tokugawa
period, also known as the Edo period, where Japan was guided to internal peace and economic growth
(The Editors of Encyclopædia Britannica). Not only had Japan found stability in the Edo period,
creativity flourished from the lower class of artisans and merchants through the exploration of ukiyo e
printmaking. The term, ukiyo e, is a combination of uki (floating), yo (world), and e (pictures) that
originated as a Buddhist term to express impermanence of human life. Ukiyo e was experimented and
developed to become a popular art form that displayed ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Through continuous practice, a strict process had to be followed as they learned a repertoire of signs
and skills of brush handling in order to preserve the Japanese tradition, and understand how to
correctly use the materials. The manner of handling the brush was everything; appreciating the
application of strong and sharp strokes on the paper appealed to artists who understood the language
of brushwork (54, Hillier). Katsushika Hokusai, a Japanese printmaker and creator of world famous
images, guided his students through the essential aspects of artist training by putting together an
instruction book that would help them master skills and dexterity (Kozbelt, Aaron, and Yana
Durmysheva). Throughout the Edo period, techniques and methods were experimented and refined,
which led to the traditions of Japanese ukiyo e printing. The transition from a simple monochromatic
image to a polychrome picture developed through the printing techniques (Kozbelt, Aaron, and Yana
Durmysheva). Different types of methods with block printing utilized carved wooden blocks of the

REDUCING FALLS IN THE ELDERLY
Reducing Falls in the Elderly by Use of Multifactorial Assessments and Management Programs
Marney Belmore
Southeast Missouri State University
A fall is defined as an unanticipated occurrence where a person happens to lie on the ground, floor or a
surface that is below them from their prior standing, lying or sitting position. In the United States,
people over the age of 65 years of age is increasing at a rapid rate due to the increase in the average
life expectancy and our baby boomers advancing in years. In fact, the U.S. Census Bureau predicts
that the quantity of people aged 65 years or older will double by the year 2030 and the people 85 years
and older will grow by 5 times by the year 2050. With the increasing average age of Americans, the
escalation of falls in the elderly will increase tremendously because of many different risk factors that
affect our elderly population. (Michael et al., 2010).
Falls are triggered by multifaceted factors with numerous dangers that include either long or short
term influencing factors. The connections between these factors may be altered by the person?s age,
ailments, illnesses, diagnoses such as Parkinson?s, stroke, diabetes mellitus and arthritis, or their
surroundings. The major fall risk factors for elderly include their advancing age, loss of muscle
strength, unsteady gait, impaired balance, incontinence of bowel or bladder, depression, cognitive
impairment, due to

Everybody know that no one would get on the large bars but boy were they wrong. Samari was doing the small and medium bars Evan was doing the same thing. All my blood was dropping to my head. Then the wind started to blow and Evan came by and pushed me and my legs got loose and I fell down. My chest hit a rock. • 5. Essay on Struggle of American Women for Equality To an onlooker, it may seem that the struggle of American women is essentially over. It is a fact of American Society, and also all functioning societies, that it will behave in such a way as to ensure its own continued existence. In accordance with post modern Sociology, the system will move with us, against us, or in spite of us; instead of benevolence or malevolence towards individuals or groups, it is more interested with self preservation. Therefore, when women as a group make an advance in society, they have done so in a way that benefits society as a whole, but not necessarily women as a group. As such, it can be noted that the struggle of women for equality in American Society is not over. Not as long as women are still ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Wade case. With that, the Supreme Court decided that the right for women to seek an abortion was protected by her right to privacy. This landmark decision, along with the legalization of the birth control pill in 1970, was considered a victory for the Women s Movement. However, the triumph must be seen in context. As aforementioned, the system moves to preserve itself. In the late 1960s and early 1970s, many people in a position of power, including President Richard Nixon, were concerned at the time about a rapidly growing population, especially the growing urban populace which was by and large composed of Blacks and members of the lower class. Legalized abortion and the contraceptive pill were seen as adequate methods to stem the growth in population among the unfavorable people (Solinger, 2005). In fact, little changed for white and middle class women who had for many years been able to receive abortions by skilled doctors willing to perform the procedure in private. Audre Lorde, author of Age, Race, Class, and Sex, points out that Black women are the primary targets of abortion and sterilization abuse. (p. 69) The result has been another method of control of the lower strata by the top and the social victory for women in this case has been marginal at best. The political victory of women has been less perceptible than the great social victories. Women today can be seen holding positions of great ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. The Concepts Of Column Oriented Databases Abstract: This documents explores the concepts of column oriented databases including its applications, advantages, and tools in which it is utilized. We describe how it differs from other database structures, and why it has become popular in the area of data analytics. Introduction The ever widening realm of big data has created an expanding frontier of exploration for the creation of new methods of data analysis in order to produce actionable knowledge for the benefit of organizations everywhere. Companies amass enormous troves of data every day. Keeping this data housed in a fashion that maximizes storage efficiency and in a format optimized for query and analysis is paramount for effective data warehousing. Many database structures exist for the storage, arrangement, and accessing of data, but large databases and online analytical processing (OLAP) benefit from specific qualities. In these databases, compression and rapid querying are the main enabling qualities sought for analytical data stores and data warehouses. Columnar (or column oriented) relational databases (RDBMS) offer these and other benefits, which is why it is a popular database scheme for analytical systems. Specifically, the vertical arrangement of records is optimal for selecting the sum, average, or a count of total record attributes because one horizontal read yields all values of an attribute. Otherwise, a physical disk must seek over and past unwanted attributes of the records to provide the same ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This kind of social structure was continued in a Rome empire for a long time especially for the slavery. Roman social structure affects the world today because there are still slaves and social classes. They are not exactly the same, but it replaces other kinds of social structure. This kind of social structure is kept continuing today. By comparing social classes in Rome such as patrician, plebeian, and slaves to the social classes today which are capitalist, middle class, and slavery, people are still held by the social structure today. The emergence of civilisation is dependent on the repression of our instinctual drives. The denial of our urges leads to the accumulation of aim inhibited libinal energy which provides the necessary potency to bind individuals together in a social group and counter acts their violent desires. What is important for Freud is that the drive to aggressiveness is as natural and immutable in human nature as the sex drive. The internalisation of aggression produces guilt and discontent which can only be mitigated by directing aggression outwards against another as violence. • 12. Aortic Insufficiency Lab Report Introduction Aortic insufficiency is a condition where the aortic valve does not close all the way. The aortic valve is a gate like structure that is located between the lower left chamber of the heart (left ventricle) and the blood vessel that leads away from the heart (aorta). The aortic valve opens when the left ventricle squeezes to pump blood into the aorta, and it closes when the left ventricle relaxes. In aortic insufficiency, blood in the aorta leaks through the aortic valve after it has closed. As a result, the heart works harder to pump the same amount of blood through the valve as it would if the valve closed tightly. When left untreated, aortic insufficiency causes enlargement and weakening of the left ventricle. When this happens, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... MRI. Electrocardiography. CT angiography uses a CT scanner and MRI in addition to the catheter, dye, and X rays. How is this treated? Treatment depends on how severe the aortic insufficiency is, the problems it is causing, and your symptoms. Observation. If the aortic insufficiency is mild, no treatment may be needed. However, you will need to have the condition checked regularly to make sure it is not getting worse or causing serious problems. Surgery. If the aortic insufficiency becomes severe, you may need surgery to repair or replace the valve. Surgery is usually recommended if the left ventricle enlarges beyond a certain point. However his safety was a major concern due to the irrational behaviour of the ancient Greeks and his close friends and family members. In Medea, Euripides discusses exclusively about the gender segregation and inequality. He criticises men for considering themselves a dominant figure of the society. This symbolises the true ambition and desire of Medea and her determination and so Euripides also conveys his ideology about women. An unnamed Samaritan woman came to draw water at a well. She hated facing others because the Jews despised her people, and she was an outcast looked down upon even by her own people. This woman was ostracized and marked as immoral, an unmarried woman living openly with the sixth in a series of men. She could not have guessed the surprise she was about to encounter that day. DECLASSIFIED 10 OCTER D:016 Proposing a Path to Peace Kaku (Di) Islands Dispute 15 Der., D:014 Since the cusp of the Diplomatic Age a century ago, Ælfe Ork relations have taken a turn for the worse. Two Ælfe Ork wars humiliated the Ælves, resulting in loss of territory to a culture the Ælves deemed derivative and inferior to their own. Part of that lost territory was the Kaku, or Di 1 Islands, largely barren landmasses significant for their strategic location between the two states, and the meaning they have come to hold in power relations between the Ælves and the Orks. Relations 2 between the two states have become even more strained in recent years, as increasingly vocal Orkish nationalists refuse to acknowledge the dispute, and express pride in the military aggression of the Orkish Empire. As a corollary, the Orkish nationalists pride in past military conquests means to the Ælves pride in the war crimes committed by Orkish soldiers at the Rape of Nan in D:37, and undermines efforts by Orkish Primorks since D:95 to convey regret and apologies for perceived injustices committed by the Orkish Empire s military. In the D:90 s during the Ælves rise to 3 economic power, the Ælves responded to the ongoing dispute by deferring conflict in order to maintain equitable trade relations with the Orks, deescalating and preventing expression of anti Ork, nationalist rhetoric. • 34. Cultural Values In Beowulf Each individual culture has many cultural truths that a group of people follow and believe in. Cultural truths are principles, values, or standards important to a group of people, which display moral behaviors that are respected and immoral actions that are scorned at. Also, cultural truths are norms in a society that you are born into and are expected to do daily because they shape the lifestyle of a group. For example, during the Anglo Saxon period, there were a number of cultural truths that were applied to everyday actions and attitudes. An epic poem, composed based on the Anglo Saxon period called Beowulf, written by an unknown author translated by Seamus Heaney, depicts many of the cultural values of the time period. In the poem, is it revealed that all the cultural values in the Anglo Saxon culture are developed from the idea of a warrior culture. The epic poem is about a hero named Beowulf from the Geats tribe who goes off and helps Hrothgar and the Danes defeat a monster, Grendel, who attacks their mead hall. Before Beowulf meets his fate he fights three monsters, which includes Grendel, to protect the lives of people in two different tribes. Within the epic poem Beowulf, there are several of cultural values presented and focused on such as, courage in battle, fidelity to one s word, and loyalty to kinsmen, which are all demonstrated by Beowulf. To begin, a cultural truth admired by the Anglo Saxon is courage in battle because it is a trait of a good warrior in the eyes of Anglo Saxon people. Courage in battle is the ability to not be afraid of the enemy, be strong, and brave. Beowulf shows his above average strength and courage in battle when he is going to battle Grendel: When it comes to battle, I count myself/ as dangerous any day as Grendel,/ ... No weapons, therefore,/ for either this night: unarmed he shall face me/ if face me he dares (Beowulf 677 685). In this quote Beowulf states and declares his abandonment of weapons, as well as his belief that he is as strong as Grendel, so he will fight him without a weapon. Battle Of Ap Bac Essay The Battle of Ap Bac The battle of Ap Bac was a small battle engaged between the Army of the Republic of Vietnam (ARVN) and the insurgents, or the People Liberation Armed Forces (Viet Cong AKA VC) with the assistance of American s weapons and advice during the Vietnam War. It took place on 2 January, 1963, near a small village named Ap Bac which is located approximately 65 km southwest of Saigon in the Mekong Delta. (Starry, 2002). As a senior leader, it is important that we have to be technically and tactically proficient. In order to be proficient, we not only need to be trained, but also we have to know how to gain experience from past battles in history using battle assessment, and critical thinking process to study the battle. That way, we know what needs to be improved, how to sustain it, and how would we execute it better next time. The Negative psychological effects of the police uniform on the Canadian Society The uniform worn by a police officer often psychologically embodies each individual s stereotypes about the officer s authority, status, and motivations. In this formal paper I will be exploring the cause of negative perceptions that Canadian minorities have on police uniforms. Introduction Most individuals can identify a police officer by their uniform, which subconsciously conveys power and authority. People in a presence of a police officer tend to hide or stop any illegal, deviant activities, because of the sudden worry of getting caught. Canada is a place of numerous cultures, and ethnicities that fused together to create a strong sense of multiculturalism, but depending on the background and social status of the individual the police uniform can deliver various emotions that can either be either positive or negative. To some citizens a sight of the police uniform can bring instant fear and anger, which can be triggering or traumatic for those who have experienced oppression (Kingsley,2017). These perceptions essentially create a stigma that has less favourable views of the police for the minority groups such as, the Aboriginal peoples, the LGBTQ community, and individuals that immigrated from other counties. Effect on Aboriginal Community Aboriginal peoples in Canada, have historically been and continue to be victims of political injustices which now characterize the Canadian Society. ... • 43. Deaf Reflection Essay Before starting this class, I had no prior knowledge of anything regarding the deaf community. I wanted to learn more about the culture and learn to converse in sign language because it was going to benefit me in the long run. However, I ve never been able to not hear before or had my hearing altered or manipulated before. I ve never been in complete silence trying to communicate. I ve never had to try and decipher what someone is trying to say to me without some form of verbal communication. Once I came into the class and we did some activities, I was shocked with some of my reactions. Before I took the American Deaf Culture Quiz , I skimmed it and tried to see if there were any questions that I knew the answers to. Overall, I didn t do quite so bad, I only missed a handful of questions, which I m surprised in a good way because I don t really know anything about the deaf culture. Originally going through the quiz, I answered each question with my best guess and when we went over the quiz, I was shocked with some of the answers to the questions, more so some of the questions I had gotten wrong. I was most surprised with the statistics of how many members of the deaf community marry each other. I was also surprised at the fact that it is okay to walk through two deaf people conversing with each other instead of finding another path. I thought that was also interesting. I learned a lot from the quiz in the few minutes I took it and the little bit of time the class took to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
