Specifications are about systems and products, not processes.
They do not relate to the workmanship or the process of
tiling, but to the quality of the finished tiled work.
The specification can therefore be used as a guide to select
the products and processes required to complete the
work to the specified standard.

Delivery Notes
Delivery notes and dockets accompany all goods and materials which
arrive on site. Delivery dockets must be checked against the goods
and materials to ensure that the order is correct.
The following checks should be made:
• Goods and materials are correct
• The quantities of each material are correct
• Pallets may have to be opened to confirm details
• All checks should be verified before goods are accepted and signed for

Manufacturers’ Information

are contained in the manufacturers’ instructions.
These are printed on the packaging and may also appear on a

Oral instructions are sometimes called verbal agreements,
However, as there is no record of what has been said they
can potentially lead to disagreements.
Verbal agreements should always be discussed and confirmed prior
to the commencement of the work to avoid any misunderstandings.
Where possible, a signed written confirmation of the instructions
should be agreed between all parties involved.
