Operation Torch Analysis
Operation TORCH is valid, well conceived operational approach executing several decisive tactical
actions to achieve the desired strategic end state. North Africa and the Mediterranean Sea are in firm
control of the Axis. This prevents the British from using the shortest route through the Mediterranean
Sea in accessing raw materials and Persian Gulf oil. The British are heavily dependent on imported
oil. Therefore, the Allied want access to Persian Gulf oil and raw materials via the Mediterranean Sea.
Furthermore, the Allied strongly believe control of North Africa from the Atlantic Sea to the Red Sea
best achieves free use of the sea lines of communication (SLOC) via the Mediterranean Sea.

Functional Analysis Of Present Trade Compliance Process Essay
4. Functional Analysis of Present Trade Compliance Process Study of the Supply Chain Risk
associated to Trade Compliance. The functional analysis is analyzing the function of the business
process, a function is defined by author Modell as a series of relative activities, involving more than
one entities, performed for the direct or indirect, purpose of fulfilling one or more mission or
objectives of the firm . Modell also explains that a function should have following characteristics like
i. Identifiable ii. Definable in terms of responsibility iii. Definable in terms of activity iv. Definable in
terms of accountability The function also has the freedom to be any part of the business process, it can
be a major control process, it can contain more sub functions, can be performed in multiple or single
area, can be performed by individual or a group of people and can have dependent or independent
activities. A business function has two main categories based on the level where it s acting business
and administrative, support or overhead. The business category is where the activities which are
directly involved in producing the product or providing services or which generate the revenue to the
firm are classified. The operational functions which come under the business are called as the line
functions. Administrative, support functions are one which are carried out for the day today wellbeing
and the firm as legal entity. The functional analysis puts forward the

Health Leadership in the Developing World
Posting #3: Health leadership in the developing world
The developing world faces many critical health challenges. Addressing the multitude of concerns
regarding health delivery can seem overwhelming, and it is critical that the national leadership is able
to define specific goals to improve the healthcare infrastructure of these nations and devise targeted
solutions. According to the article Attracting and Retaining Nurse Tutors in Malawi, the nursing
profession in Malawi faces a critical shortage of nurse technicians, at a rate of up to 80 percent in
certain areas (Caffrey Frelick 2006:1). The problems in Malawi lay in the willingness of students to
enter the profession as well as a shortage of educators. Without nurse tutors to train nurse technicians,
it will be a struggle to provide the countryside with needed health services in the future.
To enhance the attractiveness of positions in the health field, enhanced salary and free housing are
now offered to nursing educators by the Ministry of Health. As a result of this program, the number of
clinical instructors has increased. However, doubts remain about the long term feasibility of this
strategy. Salaries only provide a one term incentive for workers and weak human resources
management systems and practices hinder effectiveness and negatively affect follow through on the
conditions of scholarships, deployment, enforcement of bonding and support for and communication
with seconded government workers (Caffrey

John Maynard Keynes And The First World War
Introduction
Since the industrial revolution in the 1800s, the European economy changed for the first time. John
Maynard Keynes, a well known English economist, was a member of the British delegation to the
peace conference in Versailles in 1918. He offered an opinion in which would cause the reparation
against Germany to have negative economic consequences for Germany and Europe as a whole. [cite
text pg 341]. This paper will discuss in depth the life and approach John Maynard Keynes used when
analyzing the Treaty of Versailles. To do this, one must consider the effect of the First World War and
the imposed reparations on the German economy and the European economy as a whole, as well as
the effect on the United States economy, as they issued ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
By 1914 all the European Powers had elected lower houses of parliament, and a majority of the adult
male population was enfranchised. The press was relatively free, and citizens could form parties and
pressure groups. Prior to the 19th century, most European citizens were under complete ruling of a
king or queen, meaning they have final say over any and all political, financial, legal, and economic
decisions. With the democratization of Europe, citizens could now participate in important political
decisions, which in turn, makes the European economy much more vulnerable. Democratization of
Europe makes the European economy more vulnerable because a king/queen makes economical
decisions based solely to make themselves more wealthy while furthering the nation. On the other
hand, a political leader who makes economical decisions to satisfy the needs of citizens, keeping the
future and wealth of the nation as a lower priority. Also, a king/queen is more likely to be more
experienced and might have more attachment to important decisions, due to the fact that they are
taking over the role of the rulings of a previous family member in the country. They also make
decisions that impact the nation long term, rather than just for the amount of time for which they are in
power. Alternatively, in the consideration of democratic leaders, there generally is a lot of leaders to
make decisions for the country, allowing

The Voyage Of Life Thomas Cole Analysis
The Voyage of Life is a series of paintings which were painted by Thomas Cole. It visually represents
how Cole depicts the journey of life, portrayed by many metaphors in the painting. The persona can be
seen travelling down the River of Life , which has been cleverly manipulated to represent Cole s
perspective on the journey. Each painting represents a different stage of life: Childhood, Youth,
Manhood and Old Age.
Childhood (top left) portrays the coming into the world as a newborn. The use of vibrant colours by
Cole such as green and yellow is used to show the happiness which individuals experience during
their younger years. The guardian angel represents the contextual values of the 19th century; it
portrays the importance of religion and how they believed it to be the core focus during their life. The
angel watches over the young boy, and guides it down the start of the River of Life . This emphasises
the nature of religion during the journey and how society held a strong faith. ... Show more content on

The use of vibrant colours once again shows how an individual has little worries in life and is
enjoying it. The young boy can be seen controlling the boat, as the guardian angel watches from
behind. This symbolises how an individual begins to take control of the journey as they begin to
become exposed to the world. In the background, there is a misty castle, which is a metaphor for an
individual s dreams and goals during their lifetime. The river is becoming longer and wider, a
metaphor for an individual s new knowledge learnt through education, emphasising the importance of

Persuasive Speech Example
Beginning in 1984, a nonprofit called TED was started with a mission to spread ideas. The most
important way this nonprofit spreads ideas is through short and powerful talks conducted by speakers.
Various topics are discussed in these talks such as science, technology, and entertainment. Each
speaker when talking about their topic uses different elements to make their speech effective. Some
speeches are more effective than others because of the elements they utilize. Lizzie Velasquez is a
TED talk speaker, who tells the story her life to inspire others. In Lizzie Velasquez s talk, How to
define yourself? she captures the audience s attention using many strategies and provoking them to
deeply contemplate her message.
During Lizzie Velasquez s talk, her main claim is that people can be successful using the adversity and
struggle they ve experienced to motivate them. She displays her claim through using pathos to appeal
to the emotion of the listeners. Describing in detail the emotion she felt, Lizzie Velasquez talks about
how defeated and frustrated she felt with her identity during her middle school years. This defeat and
frustration can be presumed to be caused by the bullying she experienced at a young age. Can I just
rub this syndrome off? It would make my life so much easier if I could just scrub it off (Velazquez,
2013). Her sharing her personal thoughts evokes the audience to feel the pain and frustration she felt

Essay On Knights Vs Samurai
Knights vs Samurai essay
From researching about knights and samurai, I believe that in a battle between a knight and samurai,
the knight would have a greater chance in winning. This is because knights focused more on fighting
techniques and how to improve them, rather than focusing on spiritual beliefs and traditions as well,
which is what the samurai did. The knights also had very strong and good armour which helped a lot
in battles, while the samurai s armour changed a lot but wasn t ever as effective as the knight s armour.
The knight s weapons were also more advanced and better then the samurai weapons.
In my first reason, I believe that a knight would win against a samurai because a knight focused more
on training and fighting ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
My second reason is that the knights had very strong and effective armour, whereas the samurai s
armour was always changing and was never as good as the knight s armour, as samurai depended
more on their fighting skills instead of the armour. The samurai armour was made up of several
sections. The main body is called a do or cuirass, and is made from plates or lamellae (small oblong
shaped pieces of steel linked by strips of leather and covered with layers of lacquer). The helmet has a
crest and a hair pommel. There is also a face mask, which would have been decorated with ugly
features intended to scare the enemy. Extra protection is provided by a coverage of the neck (made of
jointed metal) and shoulder guards (made from small plates laced together, with silk allowing
movement). Thigh and calf guards are made from a combination of chain mail and plates. Underneath
the samurai s armour, the samurai would wear a one piece baggy garment with a special kimono (the
kimono looks a bit like a dressing gown). This did mean that the samurai would be more likely to get
injured, as the armour would only offer very little protection. Samurai armour was designed to help
the Samurai move comfortably and efficiently when fighting, so if a knight stabbed the samurai then
the samurai would get injured and this would affect the samurai while he is fighting (the samurai
would be fighting worse), and possible depending on how bad the wound is, it could kill the

Charlie Gordon s Character Development In Flowers For...
In the short story Flowers for Algernon, Daniel Keyes leaves the reader saddened, stunned and
ultimately forming questions. Keyes also highlights several characters, a particular character is a
mentally disabled janitor named Charlie Gordon. He has a sixty eight IQ, works at a paper factory in
New York, and is oblivious to his surroundings. Gordon s deepest desire is to increase his intelligence
by doing an operation that has only been done on a mouse, whose name is Algernon. Soon after the
operation is done, Gordon starts becoming a super genius with more knowledge than most doctors. He
understands elaborate mathematical equations and can read and write at an age beyond his years.
However, his increased intelligence starts to ware off, Gordon starts losing huge chunks of
intelligence, he is unmotivated and is overall ashamed. His three stages which include his wanting to
be the one for the operation, his super genius self, and his deteriorating self are important in Charlie
Gordon s character development. The beginning of Charlie Gordon s character development is his
want to have the operation done on him, even though it might be risky. In his March seventh progress
report, he writes, ...all my life I wantid to be smart and not dumb. They said you know it will probly
be tempirery. I said yes...I dont care if it herts (Keyes 286). Gordon does not care if the operation goes
wrong or is temporary, therefore, he is putting himself at risk. In order to be picked for the

Historical Changes During The Persian War
History is the study of what happened in the past, but the causes of these events are important to
understanding why we have historical changes. Although historical forces have an effect on the
outcome of history, human agency is the greatest cause of historical changes. The actions of
Themistocles during the Persian War and the leadership of Pericles during Athens golden age
influenced the outcome of history in ancient Greece. During the Persian War Themistocles leadership
guided Athens to defeat the Persian Empire. Although Themistocles did not get a traditional
aristocratic education, he is considered one of the greatest ancient greek politians for his strategies in
war. After the battle of Marathon Themistocles knew the Persians would

The topic of this paper will not be to define strategic leadership, and but perhaps more importantly
identify the top five characteristics of strategic leaders in leadership roles in general, not just military
or business settings. This paper will address the difficulty in defining strategic leadership by
narrowing down a specific set of qualities or characteristics required to lead in that position. Since
there is no definitive definition for strategic leadership and the focus will turn to what qualities belong
to a strategic leader and thereby find the very elusive definition so many who are called upon to lead

essential list of characteristics for a strategic leader and cull that list down to the top five
characteristics needed for success in the position of any civilian primary leader, what would the list of
qualifications contain? This question will be answered by looking at strategic leadership in civilian
leadership setting, while utilizing principles and insight from the military world of leadership, this will
surely be a varied and complex list. The list, however, will be narrowed down utilizing the same arena
of sources and opinions with success stories associated with each characteristic. It will take a good

thought of a way to make poetry less dry and boring, a way to spice up the readings and bring

wanted to give the poetry back to the people, back to the audience instead of it belonging to academics
like it had been in the times before. The word Slam was used for this performance poetry because as
Marc explained it in an interview with Olivier Vanderra at BlaQ Socrates and Sapient Soul Furman

performer or feels each excited, hopeful, or beautiful moment shared through the poem whichever
emotion comes, if the performer did well, you should feel like the emotion slammed into you
(Vanderra). A rush of feelings that should be the only thing you can focus on because the performance

My Father And My Brother
As a child, my brother Jean and I were not always very close, even though we are fairly close in age.
As children, we went to school together and grew up learning the importance of family values,
particularly the meaning of sticking together. Every day we walked to school together. Before we
ventured off to elementary school, our mother would say, Stick together, and Jean, listen to your big
brother! Even though I was only two years older than Jean, I knew I was responsible if anything bad
were to happen to him under my watch. My brother and I were quite daring as children and did not
always follow all the rules. Also, Jean was more stubborn than I and did not know when the time for
play should stop. I will never forget that one frightful day when the lesson about the value of my
family and sticking together changed my life. It was a warm day towards the end of the school year,
and everyone was anxious to start summer vacation. Throughout the day at the elementary school, I
would see Jean about two times a day. Close to the end of the day, and the sunlight beaming into my
fifth grade classroom felt like a hundred degrees. Before we could leave, our teacher Ms. Harris
wanted to give us a short vocabulary quiz. When she started to pass out the quiz, I was thinking of
ways to get out of the assignment. At that very moment, something very frightening happened. All of a

Canada Health Act Essay
The Undermining of the Canada Health Act
Abstract
In the past, Canada s government funded, universally accessible, health care system has been praised
and admired both at home and abroad as one of the finest in the world. A great source of pride and
comfort for many Canadians is that it is based on five fundamental principles. Principles that are a
reflection of the values held by Canadian citizens since the formation of Medicare in 1966. These
principles were reinforced in the Canada Health Act, (CHA), of 1984 and state that the Canadian
system is universal, accessible, portable, comprehensive and non profit.

Accessibility and quality are being threatened due to cutbacks coupled with a lack of funding. There is
a consensus now between medical professionals, the public, and the government that the health care
system is deteriorating. It is failing to provide the quality of care promised in the CHA and prided by
so many Canadians.
Yet the strings on the public purse continue to tighten. Transfer payments from the federal government
continue to decrease as provincial debt loads increase. And, although the minister of health and the
premier assured them that the costs of health care were doubling or even tripling, Albertans have
witnessed a steady decline in government spending on health care. The proportion of gross domestic
product, (GDP), which Alberta allocates to health care is ranked last among the ten provinces, (Taft,
1997). Albertans now find themselves with a struggling health care system and a waiting list.
The proposed solution from current Alberta government would see the health care system incorporate
the private sector. The government Most of all the government is looking to decrease cost, increase

The absorbance is proportional to the concentration of the chlorine dioxide in water. Indicators used
for this technique include N,N diethyl p phenylenediamine, chlorophenol red, and methylene blue
(APHA 1998; Fletcher and Hemming 1985; Quentel et al. 1994; Sweetin et al. 1996). For example,
chlorophenol red selectively reacts with chlorine dioxide at pH 7 with a detection limit of 0.12 mg/L.
The interferences from chlorine may be reduced by the addition of oxalic acid, sodium cyclamate, or
thioacetamide (Sweetin et al. 1996). APHA Method 4500 CLO2 B, iodometric titration analysis,
measures the concentration of chlorine dioxide in water by titration with iodide, which is reduced to
form iodine. Iodine is then measured colorimetrically when a blue color forms from the production of
a starch iodine complex. The detection limit for this method is 20 µg/L (APHA 1998).

Summary Of The Book Of Judges
Women in the book of Judges The Book of Judges talks about ancient Israel, and how they extended
their territory by acquiring lands from the non Israelites. The book narrates how Israelites conquered
and reclaimed their lost land from non Israelites and how they used to turn from God whenever they
are satisfied. But it is written in the Bible that, the guilty are by no means cleared, as Exodus (34:7)
says this is the reason why the Lord used several Kings and Judges like Deborah to help the people of
Israel find their way back to Him. As the book reveals, it is evident that most of the judges were men
(as they were most of the times referred to as Judges). The book talks about a great woman Deborah,
also referred to as the bee , as a key judge in the entire book. This book unveils the importance of
women (through acts and strengths of Deborah (mainly) and other heroic female characters) and their
power to the readers. The Book of Judges narrates six women who are and will always be remembered
by their outstanding and remarkable work. They are, Achsah, Deborah, Jael, Japhthah s daughter,
Delilah and the identity of two of them is not revealed. O Connor (1980) suggests that, The book of
Judges demonstrates this disparity as observed; women assume a vital function in its set up as the
volume s subject is marginalization (278). Women are well known in three major roles, that is, being a
mother, a daughter or a mate. Despite these limited roles, the Book of Judges shows

How I Understand Modernity As Well As The Emergence Of...
When I hear the word modernity what comes to mind is change or a new social order. The word
modernity captures the world that we live in today and one that we have also inherited over the past
500 years. In trying to understand how the world is where it is now, as well as what has come before
we use the concept of modernity to describe these changes or in other words the making of the modern
world. In this paper I will outline how I understand modernity as well as the emergence of sociology. I
will provide a brief history of social theories and the development of concepts such as race that came
out of modernity and sociology thereafter addressing the impact it had on colonial and apartheid South
Africa. I will talk about what it means to decolonize sociology of post apartheid South Africa using
examples as I go.
It is believed that over 500 years ago the way human beings viewed themselves in relation to the
world was through the eyes of the church and religion. During that time, individuals actions were
governed by feudal laws where kings and queens made decisions on behalf of the entire society. In
other words people s destiny did not lie in their own hands, instead in the hands of higher authorities.
The church assured many that kings and queens stood as representatives of God on earth as validation
of their authority. The traditional way of doing things was considered the will of God and never dared

A Critique on the 1994 Rwanda Genocide
Critique/ Discussion
Despite receiving considerable among of funds and international attention since the genocide in 1994
Rwanda is having a bad experience of political governance. According to a report by the World Bank,
around 10 percent of the population which is more than 850,000 people was killed during the deadly
conflicts and about 3 million escaped to neighboring countries. Thousands of children were left with
the responsibility of caring for more than 90,000 households, which left a large number of widow and
orphans (Peyntjens 2010). Also, thousands cases of extensive rape which led to HIV/AIDS and spread
these daises throughout the country. Furthermore, there hundred and thousands victims suffering
trauma of rape and violent acts and they were died after months of being in trauma and some even
killed themselves. On the other hand, Rwanda can still feel the bad economic effects of those deadly

This paper described the seizure of power and the merging of hegemony by a particular group of
Rwandans who came from abroad. Their social base was, and remains, very narrow till the end. The
brutal regime used certain strategies through repression, terror, and extreme violence elimination of
countervailing voices, both political and social to achieve their goals. The government used excessive

The Little Girl
We first hear the word power in our lifetime often when we are children. Usually in a question what is
your favorite super power ? Most children answer with abnormal abilities such as flying or invisibility.
In its most innocent way power is inherent we think of it as an ability. However as most children grow
up they learn that power isn t always on the good guys side. Power is defined as what enables one
person to control the behaviors of others . Power turns into a struggle from teacher to student, parents
to children, and any other relationship we possess.
Children for example need guidance and protection, therefore being a perfect example of the power
dynamic legitimate power. Legitimate power can be found within our culture and society from our
education system to our own respective family lives. Although many situations are different there is
likely someone seen in a position of power based off nothing more than their position in your life.
This can be seen in the movie crash where the little girl (Lara) believes and inherently trusts her father
(Danial). He has a right of power based on the fact he s her father which allows a level of trust, and
feeling of safety for the little girl. Furthermore legitimate power can also be found in work place
environments where employer and employee relationship are in continuous power struggles. This
happened when Cameron Thayer was approached by his superior to re do a scene when the producer
did not think the scene was done

A Rhetorical Analysis Of An Epic Hero
Myths had a impertinent role in Greek civilization. For the sake of this rhetorical analysis a myth is a
story featuring an epic hero typically a demigod who endures a journey with interpersonal and
external conflicts further amplified by supernatural adversaries with powers intent on destroying or
weakening them. Often these epic heroes reflect or touch on the struggles of humanity, and explain
natural phenomena in quest. Evidently implied, Greek Heroes are the unrivaled embodiment of
pathos, ethos, and logos the greek ideals of impulsivity (pathos), image (ethos), and rationality (logos)
or the three modes of argument. Greek leaders supposedly were balanced in all three modes of human
argument discerning howbeit necessary to use one s emotions, logic, or credibility to resolve issues
and convey messages. Upon close inspection of Homer s Iliad, I choose to believe it was the power of
myth and the ideal of the Epic Hero that created the criteria for Greek Leadership. ... Show more

Dna Editing System For A Type II Crispr System Mechanism
CRISPR/Cas9 DNA editing system is a prokaryotic immune system that becomes resistant to foreign
genetics such as plasmids. CRISPR stands for Clustered Regularly Interspaced Short Palindromic
Repeats, which are prokaryotic DNA strands that have a short repetition base sequence. Cas9 is a
nuclease enzyme that is used to cut into DNA strands that are associated with CRISPR type II.
CRISPR/Cas9 system has several advantages when using this technology in the biological and
biomedical sciences. It also has a few disadvantages that cause concerns when using this system in the
medicine field. However, before all of this can be discussed, a depth of what CRISPR/Cas9 is and
where it comes from and why is it important to the biology field.
There are many highly diverse Cas (CRISPR associated) proteins but only one that is mainly used,
which is Cas9.1 Which Cas9 derivative is found on the gRNA that contains plasmid, which are
associated with CRISPRs type II in the bacterial immune system. Cas9 is an important asset to a type
II CRISPR system mechanism that is required for gene silencing. Cas9 protein engages in the
processing of crRNA and is also responsible for eliminating the target DNA in the type II CRISPR
system.1 Cas9 function as an RNA guide for the DNA endonuclease enzyme that is involved with
CRISPR adaptive immune system.
CRISPRs is a DNA direct repeats found in many prokaryotic genomes, that have four CRISPR
associated protein families.12 Cas1 through Cas4 occur near a

Importance Of The Five Pillars Of Islam
There are the Five Pillars of Faith within Islam, all of which partake in an extremely important role in
the lives of worldwide Muslim adherents. They include Shahada (referring to beliefs), Salat (prayer),
Zakat (charity), Sawm (fasting/Ramadan), and Hajj (pilgrimage). The Five Pillars of Islam are all
different acts of worship to show devotion to Allah that transform and develop individual adherents,
and powers the foundation of Islam and its core teachings. Within the sacred texts of Islam, there are
many Surahs (chapters) of the Qur an and extracts from the Hadith that clearly demonstrate the
importance of the Five Pillars of Islam to adherents worldwide and their lives. Shahada is the
declaration of faith for Islam, Salat strengthens faith and reminds Muslims that Allah is above all else,
Zakat maintains the selflessness of Muslims, Sawm develops self control and rid sins, and Hajj serves
as a penance while strengthening the connection of adherents worldwide and Allah.
The First Pillar of Islam, Shahada, is important to Muslim s lives because it is the first step of
becoming a true, devoted adherent of Islam, the declaration of faith. Shahada is the Islamic testimony
that acknowledges the absoluteness and oneness of God (Tawhid) and the role of his messenger
Muhammad. It reminds adherents (of their purpose:) that their day should be spent worshipping only
him (monotheism) and shows Muslim s utter commitment to their religion/faith, demonstrating the

Modern Media And Technology Conditions The Public Mind
More than ever before, technology has infused itself into our everyday life and tasks. As our dominant
mean of obtaining any information possible at any time you desire, it is an irrefutable fact that modern
media and technology conditions the public mind. How it does so, is not so obvious. Today s media
affects everyone, individually and as a general populace. Individually, medias such as Instagram,
Facebook, Tumblr, etc. change our perception of reality by presenting us versions of people that are
made to seem beyond the norm in some way; outrageously beautiful, unique, talented, etc.on a regular
basis. These repeated ideals of what the norm should be or what should be desired creates a warped
perception of reality.(Enzenberg ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As a consequence, people associate their best self with their digital identity, who ultimately isn t who
they are ,causing a drastic disconnect from one s actual self and who they are online. This disconnect
causes an internal dissatisfaction with every aspect of ourselves that turns into something much worse
than just a low self esteem. Anxiety, depression, and addiction have all been results of this, as proven
with the BFAS Berge Facebook Addiction Scale and Facebook Depression .(Jennifer Van Pelt, MA)
Furthermore, there is power in repetition and how it affects the subconscious mind incredibly. The idea
of what qualifies as desirable is incessantly forced into our minds by television, magazines, etc. Thus
the images portrayed are normalized. As in, this is the normal idea of what beautiful, the normal idea
of what talent is,this is what you want or who you want to be like ,etc. Thigh gaps, accentuated
muscles, and such have become such a common and relied on application that even those who are
praised by common people, for example: Beyonce, fall subject to the image and socially accepted idea
of beauty and what should be desired. However, when watching television or flipping through a
magazine, it goes unnoticed that a majority of these people do not look like

Comparison Of An Hour And A Pair Of Silk Stockings
Both A Pair of Silk Stockings and The Story of an Hour by Kate Chopin, were written from a third
person point of view, making the story less subjective and more objective. As a result the reader is
unable to put him or herself into the story. The narrative structures of A Pair of Silk Stockings and The
Story of an Hour differ in that the setting, the time and overall story plots are completely different.
There is one similarity that sticks out, both protagonists are selfish. There is really strong symbolism
and imagery in both stories which puts the reader inside the story. The narrative structure of Chopin s
A Pair of Silk Stockings indicates that the story takes place in a big city, most likely New York or
somewhere similar. This can be assumed because Mrs. Sommers visits a department store, goes to a
shoe department store, a magazine stand, and eats at a fancy restaurant. The fact that she mentions
how the shoe store is across from the department store and only a few feet away there was a magazine
display and the restaurant was on the same corner. Maybe it was a downtown area with lots of shops
and restaurants and the theater. The story starts out with her finding the money and spending a couple
of days contemplating what to do with it. She walked about apparently in a dreamy state trying to

Chopin s description that the stockings glide serpent like through her fingers (Chopin, Vogue 7, 1897)

fancy materialistic items. At first Mrs. Sommers is practical but her exhaustion from having forgotten
to eat seems to cloud her better judgement and her exhaustion, from her poverty stricken life, leads to

Foreign Policy Dbq Analysis
Foreign Policy DBQ The devastating WWI left a permanent mark on the European soil, as well as in
American people s minds. People now understood what real wars are like; they are not always
honorable, romantic or beneficial. As a result, isolationism ran high as the postwar United States
entered the 1920s. Three presidents, Warren G. Harding, Calvin Coolidge and Herbert Hoover all
devoted themselves to domestic affairs starting from 1920 while trying their best to keep the country
safe from the European turmoils. However, as the WWII erupted in Europe in the 1930s, president
Franklin D. Roosevelt sensed the potential danger posed by Germany toward the United States. A

Roosevelt, unlike the three former presidents, with his solid reputation from his significant New Deal
programs, took a step to reactivate the US role in the world, leading an isolated nation toward more
international affairs. During his first term, FDR s view toward foreign affairs differed little from the
other isolationist presidents. Neutrality Acts were signed by the president, intending to keep the nation
out of war. However, as the war between China and Japan unfolded, Roosevelt s actions began to be
viewed as a violation of strict isolationism; by not invoking the neutrality law in this case, he had
made a favorable situation for China since munitions to China continued to flourish. Although
identified with one of those seeking peace, Roosevelt s isolationist mind was challenged by the
German occupation of Czechoslovakia in 1939, which revealed the nature of Hitler to him―an
international gangster who willed war on the world and therefore had to be stopped. Having realized
this, Roosevelt went to the Congress and asked for permission to sell arms to the Allies, which did not
work. THe president later went on to ask for an amendment to the Neutrality Acts, which he regretted
signing; as a result, Britain and France were allowed to send freighters to the US and purchase
whatever they needed under the Neutrality Act of 1939. At this time the national sentiment is no
longer total isolationism, for the people had realized, as the Republican

Bessie Smith Essay
In Bessie Smith s piece Young Woman Blues , underlies a black feminist declaration of empowered
femininity and proud black sexuality. In that respect, she follows along in the tradition of other black
female musicians like Ma Rainey and Nella Laursen in challenging the status quo through their own
music. As such, Carby is right in her analysis of Bessie Smith and other black female musicians in
asserting their femininity whereas Chapman is limited in analyzing the perception of these musicians
and not the actual music itself. Through Smith s performance of the song underscores the vulnerability
and by extension the strength that her and other black females possess to deal with the dual prejudices
of racism and sexism. As such, the performance is liberating in terms of its challenging of racism
through black pride, challenging of sexism through female sensuality, and advocating of personal
independence. In the piece itself, Bessie Smith fundamentally critiques the racialized ... Show more

She accounts for the likes of Ma Rainey who had songs along the likes of Oh Papa Blues , Titanic
Man Blues , and Black Eye Blues that challenged male cheating with female strength and fury (Carby
17). Granted, Chapman would argue such songs would pale to the positioning of female musicians in
the race sex marketplace with the likes of Ethel Waters (Chapman 80). Yet again, this should discount
any of what Bessie Smith is fighting for within the song itself. The reasoning being is that for music of
hers to be liberating, it is to first be liberating in a personal level. The limitations that are there for
blues music in the grand sense are apparent as Chapman notes with the objectification of black women
s bodies. Though, Bessie Smith is not seen in a sexualized fashion in her song and the sensuality that
is there is comes from her own

Molly decides to take the child to Godfrey and demand shelter and money but dies on the way to let
the tiny child wander into the warmth of Silas Marner s cottage. Silas takes the child and looks after it,
nursing it and returning to his old self, before he was banned from Lantern Yard. Godfrey marries
Nancy Lammeter but fails to have children with her. He goes to claim Eppie but Eppie decides to stay
with Silas, so concluding the fairytale with happiness for the goodies and death and misery for the
baddies when Dunstan Cass is found at the bottom of a lake with Silas money.
Some of the Victorian values that would have influenced George Eliot are the traditional family values
and the role of women in families and society. Women were expected to stay at home and look after
the family. They were not expected to work or do anything to displease their husbands. At the time,
George Eliot was writing her book, the industrial revolution was also taking place and economic and
class values were changing. England was going through a series of tumultuous cultural, social and
economic transformations.
This could be reflected in the seemingly robotic work Silas does. He weaves continually only to save
every penny into a box under his floorboards for him to count and worship.
Silas first sees Eppie asleep by his fire and he sees not a

Externalities Of Unemployment In Australia
The problem of unemployment has been a significant one in Australia. Unemployment is a major cost
to an economy not only in terms of opportunity cost of lost production but also in terms of major long
term social costs including increased inequality, poverty and crime. Unemployment statistics reflect
the total available labour force divided by the number of people recognised as being unemployed and
are actively seeking work within a percentage. Australia s Unemployment rate currently stands at
5.7% with the RBA considering 5% unemployment a good guide. The cause of Australia s
unemployment is widely varied and does not have a single root. One cause of increasing
unemployment could be linked to the mining boom. The mining boom led to increased demand for
Australian exports, and increased demand for the AUD on the FOREX market. This led to an
appreciation in the AUD which led to increased relative export prices, and decreased international
competitiveness in other industries such as manufacturing. A decrease in the demand for Australian
manufactured goods then occurred, causing firms to decrease supply and cut costs, resulting in a
decrease in the demand for labour, and therefore, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The costs to the government are also significant as the government does not receive taxation revenue
from unemployed people, and often provides unemployed people with social benefits and training
programs. The government s revenue is thereby decreased, and the Current Account Deficit increases

result of inadequate training or an inability to compete with globalised standards becomes evident,
social unrest can also

How Did The Printing Press Contribute To The Reformation
The printing press and its involvement in the reformation
Sometime before 1450 Johann Guttenburg developed the printing press, this invention made the
printing of lengthy texts far easier. In the years following Gutenberg s era to Luther s, printing as an
industry was improving exponentially. The press received mechanical improvements, increasing
efficiency. Printing also became a large industry with large facilities dedicated to printing. The
Reformation would prove good to the printing industry as more and more lengthy material was
written. Gone was the need for manuscripts and the long process of hand written works. Martin Luther
nailed his Ninety Five Theses to the door of the Wittenberg church on October 31, 1517. He wanted to

It was important to Luther and indeed any writer to pick the best publisher for the job. Grunenberg
was used to publish Luther s Seven Penitential Psalms. Grunenberg s placement in Wittenberg
University was very fortuitous for Martin Luther as he was able to monitor and oversee all the work
that Grunenberg was doing for him while he was teaching at Wittenberg. At some point Luther
became unhappy with the work Grunenberg and went on to work with Melchior Lotther who
established a printing shop in the University to work for Luther . Luther and Lotther had a good
working relationship and Luthers publications prospered under Lotthers printing. If Luther was
placing such an emphasis on the relationship and work ethic of his printer, then we could conclude
from this that Martin Luther himself placed a great emphasis on the printing press and recognised it s
importance. Without its invention, the speed and reach of Luther s and indeed other reformer s
writings would have been stunted. The press allowed Luther to try new things when it came to
publishing such as publishing the first part of a book to see how much interest there was for it before
releasing the rest. This could be used to reduce the chance of a financial disaster and could possibly be
the first time such a thing was

1 A diagram explaining how the internet works and description of the world wide web
The World Wide Web is a system of internet servers that contain documents formatted in HTML. This
supports links to other documents and also supports graphics, audio and video.
2 Internet Service Providers (ISP);
An internet service provider (ISP) is a service that provides access to the internet. They provide the
user with services such as broadband and phone services. For a monthly price the user is provided
with a router which they can then connect to either with a wired or wireless connection. An internet
connection enables the user to connect many devices to the internet at the same time. The router and
phone are normally plugged in to the same socket which then connects the router to the internet.
Internet service providers may also provide the user with an e mail address as a part of the service.
Different providers offer different packages for different prices, for example some may have a capped
usage which may be better for people who do not use the internet as much and would be able to save
money by purchasing this. Different companies compete to gain more customers and will claim to
have a higher upload and download rate than other companies. Also, usually a package with a higher

North Africa and the Mediterranean Sea are in firm control of the Axis. This prevents the British from using the shortest route through the Mediterranean Sea in accessing raw materials and Persian Gulf oil. The British are heavily dependent on imported oil. Therefore, the Allied want access to Persian Gulf oil and raw materials via the Mediterranean Sea. Furthermore, the Allied strongly believe control of North Africa from the Atlantic Sea to the Red Sea best achieves free use of the sea lines of communication (SLOC) via the Mediterranean Sea. • 4. Health Leadership in the Developing World Posting #3: Health leadership in the developing world The developing world faces many critical health challenges. Addressing the multitude of concerns regarding health delivery can seem overwhelming, and it is critical that the national leadership is able to define specific goals to improve the healthcare infrastructure of these nations and devise targeted solutions. According to the article Attracting and Retaining Nurse Tutors in Malawi, the nursing profession in Malawi faces a critical shortage of nurse technicians, at a rate of up to 80 percent in certain areas (Caffrey Frelick 2006:1). The problems in Malawi lay in the willingness of students to enter the profession as well as a shortage of educators. Without nurse tutors to train nurse technicians, it will be a struggle to provide the countryside with needed health services in the future. To enhance the attractiveness of positions in the health field, enhanced salary and free housing are now offered to nursing educators by the Ministry of Health. As a result of this program, the number of clinical instructors has increased. However, doubts remain about the long term feasibility of this strategy. Salaries only provide a one term incentive for workers and weak human resources management systems and practices hinder effectiveness and negatively affect follow through on the conditions of scholarships, deployment, enforcement of bonding and support for and communication with seconded government workers (Caffrey ... • 5. John Maynard Keynes And The First World War Introduction Since the industrial revolution in the 1800s, the European economy changed for the first time. John Maynard Keynes, a well known English economist, was a member of the British delegation to the peace conference in Versailles in 1918. He offered an opinion in which would cause the reparation against Germany to have negative economic consequences for Germany and Europe as a whole. [cite text pg 341]. This paper will discuss in depth the life and approach John Maynard Keynes used when analyzing the Treaty of Versailles. To do this, one must consider the effect of the First World War and the imposed reparations on the German economy and the European economy as a whole, as well as the effect on the United States economy, as they issued ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... By 1914 all the European Powers had elected lower houses of parliament, and a majority of the adult male population was enfranchised. The press was relatively free, and citizens could form parties and pressure groups. Prior to the 19th century, most European citizens were under complete ruling of a king or queen, meaning they have final say over any and all political, financial, legal, and economic decisions. With the democratization of Europe, citizens could now participate in important political decisions, which in turn, makes the European economy much more vulnerable. Democratization of Europe makes the European economy more vulnerable because a king/queen makes economical decisions based solely to make themselves more wealthy while furthering the nation. On the other hand, a political leader who makes economical decisions to satisfy the needs of citizens, keeping the future and wealth of the nation as a lower priority. Also, a king/queen is more likely to be more experienced and might have more attachment to important decisions, due to the fact that they are taking over the role of the rulings of a previous family member in the country. They also make decisions that impact the nation long term, rather than just for the amount of time for which they are in power. • 6. The Voyage Of Life Thomas Cole Analysis The Voyage of Life is a series of paintings which were painted by Thomas Cole. It visually represents how Cole depicts the journey of life, portrayed by many metaphors in the painting. The persona can be seen travelling down the River of Life , which has been cleverly manipulated to represent Cole s perspective on the journey. Each painting represents a different stage of life: Childhood, Youth, Manhood and Old Age. Childhood (top left) portrays the coming into the world as a newborn. The use of vibrant colours by Cole such as green and yellow is used to show the happiness which individuals experience during their younger years. The guardian angel represents the contextual values of the 19th century; it portrays the importance of religion and how they believed it to be the core focus during their life. The angel watches over the young boy, and guides it down the start of the River of Life . This emphasises the nature of religion during the journey and how society held a strong faith. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The use of vibrant colours once again shows how an individual has little worries in life and is enjoying it. The young boy can be seen controlling the boat, as the guardian angel watches from behind. This symbolises how an individual begins to take control of the journey as they begin to become exposed to the world. In the background, there is a misty castle, which is a metaphor for an individual s dreams and goals during their lifetime. • 7. Persuasive Speech Example Beginning in 1984, a nonprofit called TED was started with a mission to spread ideas. The most important way this nonprofit spreads ideas is through short and powerful talks conducted by speakers. Various topics are discussed in these talks such as science, technology, and entertainment. Each speaker when talking about their topic uses different elements to make their speech effective. Some speeches are more effective than others because of the elements they utilize. Lizzie Velasquez is a TED talk speaker, who tells the story her life to inspire others. In Lizzie Velasquez s talk, How to define yourself? she captures the audience s attention using many strategies and provoking them to deeply contemplate her message. During Lizzie Velasquez s talk, her main claim is that people can be successful using the adversity and struggle they ve experienced to motivate them. She displays her claim through using pathos to appeal to the emotion of the listeners. Describing in detail the emotion she felt, Lizzie Velasquez talks about how defeated and frustrated she felt with her identity during her middle school years. This defeat and frustration can be presumed to be caused by the bullying she experienced at a young age. Can I just rub this syndrome off? It would make my life so much easier if I could just scrub it off (Velazquez, 2013). • 8. Essay On Knights Vs Samurai Knights vs Samurai essay From researching about knights and samurai, I believe that in a battle between a knight and samurai, the knight would have a greater chance in winning. This is because knights focused more on fighting techniques and how to improve them, rather than focusing on spiritual beliefs and traditions as well, which is what the samurai did. The knights also had very strong and good armour which helped a lot in battles, while the samurai s armour changed a lot but wasn t ever as effective as the knight s armour. The knight s weapons were also more advanced and better then the samurai weapons. In my first reason, I believe that a knight would win against a samurai because a knight focused more on training and fighting ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... My second reason is that the knights had very strong and effective armour, whereas the samurai s armour was always changing and was never as good as the knight s armour, as samurai depended more on their fighting skills instead of the armour. The samurai armour was made up of several sections. The main body is called a do or cuirass, and is made from plates or lamellae (small oblong shaped pieces of steel linked by strips of leather and covered with layers of lacquer). The helmet has a crest and a hair pommel. There is also a face mask, which would have been decorated with ugly features intended to scare the enemy. Extra protection is provided by a coverage of the neck (made of jointed metal) and shoulder guards (made from small plates laced together, with silk allowing movement). Thigh and calf guards are made from a combination of chain mail and plates. Underneath the samurai s armour, the samurai would wear a one piece baggy garment with a special kimono (the kimono looks a bit like a dressing gown). This did mean that the samurai would be more likely to get injured, as the armour would only offer very little protection. Samurai armour was designed to help the Samurai move comfortably and efficiently when fighting, so if a knight stabbed the samurai then the samurai would get injured and this would affect the samurai while he is fighting (the samurai would be fighting worse), and possible depending on how bad the wound is, it could kill the ... Although historical forces have an effect on the outcome of history, human agency is the greatest cause of historical changes. The actions of Themistocles during the Persian War and the leadership of Pericles during Athens golden age influenced the outcome of history in ancient Greece. In the opening of this paper the below description of the need for strategic leadership and the difficulty in defining it can both be seen. In Becoming a Strategic Leader: Your Role in Your Organization s Enduring Success by Richard L. Hughes and Katherine Colarelli Beatty define this difficulty beautifully in their opening. The book opens with a description of the difficulty of learning to surf. As you stand looking at the beautiful ocean, you move to begin paddling out through the waves only to fail each time at getting up and successfully riding a wave all the way to shore. It speaks of trying and practicing at home, only to be thrown when the moment counts. The imagery of attempting to learn to surf and failing due to a lack of ... The topic of this paper will not be to define strategic leadership, and but perhaps more importantly identify the top five characteristics of strategic leaders in leadership roles in general, not just military or business settings. This paper will address the difficulty in defining strategic leadership by narrowing down a specific set of qualities or characteristics required to lead in that position. Since there is no definitive definition for strategic leadership and the focus will turn to what qualities belong to a strategic leader and thereby find the very elusive definition so many who are called upon to lead strategically desire. The primary research question for this paper will be, If one were to develop the essential list of characteristics for a strategic leader and cull that list down to the top five characteristics needed for success in the position of any civilian primary leader, what would the list of qualifications contain? This question will be answered by looking at strategic leadership in civilian leadership setting, while utilizing principles and insight from the military world of leadership, this will surely be a varied and complex list. Slam Poetry Essay In the early 1980s, Slam Poetry caught flight in small coffee shops in Austin, Texas., New York City, New York., Chicago, Illinois., Seattle, Washington., and San Francisco, California during slots of open mic which invite an artist of any kind: poet, narrators, musicians, and comedians of all types to share their art (Power Poetry). Years later as Slam Poetry got more recognition and spread to more areas around the country. The first Poetry Slam was originated by a man named Marc Kelly Smith. After reading at the Get Me High Lounge for many poetry nights which he hosted, Marc Smith thought of a way to make poetry less dry and boring, a way to spice up the readings and bring entertainment to the words which became Slam Poetry (Boudreau). Marc is known for saying that he wanted to give the poetry back to the people, back to the audience instead of it belonging to academics like it had been in the times before. The word Slam was used for this performance poetry because as Marc explained it in an interview with Olivier Vanderra at BlaQ Socrates and Sapient Soul Furman University, In America, Slam means either something very, very good or something very, very bad. The audience feels the weight of bewilderedness, fright, or anger with the performer or feels each excited, hopeful, or beautiful moment shared through the poem whichever emotion comes, if the performer did well, you should feel like the emotion slammed into you (Vanderra). As children, we went to school together and grew up learning the importance of family values, particularly the meaning of sticking together. Every day we walked to school together. Before we ventured off to elementary school, our mother would say, Stick together, and Jean, listen to your big brother! Even though I was only two years older than Jean, I knew I was responsible if anything bad were to happen to him under my watch. My brother and I were quite daring as children and did not always follow all the rules. Also, Jean was more stubborn than I and did not know when the time for play should stop. I will never forget that one frightful day when the lesson about the value of my family and sticking together changed my life. It was a warm day towards the end of the school year, and everyone was anxious to start summer vacation. Throughout the day at the elementary school, I would see Jean about two times a day. Close to the end of the day, and the sunlight beaming into my fifth grade classroom felt like a hundred degrees. Before we could leave, our teacher Ms. Harris wanted to give us a short vocabulary quiz. When she started to pass out the quiz, I was thinking of ways to get out of the assignment. Canada Health Act Essay The Undermining of the Canada Health Act Abstract In the past, Canada s government funded, universally accessible, health care system has been praised and admired both at home and abroad as one of the finest in the world. A great source of pride and comfort for many Canadians is that it is based on five fundamental principles. Principles that are a reflection of the values held by Canadian citizens since the formation of Medicare in 1966. There is a consensus now between medical professionals, the public, and the government that the health care system is deteriorating. Transfer payments from the federal government continue to decrease as provincial debt loads increase. And, although the minister of health and the premier assured them that the costs of health care were doubling or even tripling, Albertans have witnessed a steady decline in government spending on health care. The proportion of gross domestic product, (GDP), which Alberta allocates to health care is ranked last among the ten provinces, (Taft, 1997). For example, chlorophenol red selectively reacts with chlorine dioxide at pH 7 with a detection limit of 0.12 mg/L. The interferences from chlorine may be reduced by the addition of oxalic acid, sodium cyclamate, or thioacetamide (Sweetin et al. 1996). APHA Method 4500 CLO2 B, iodometric titration analysis, measures the concentration of chlorine dioxide in water by titration with iodide, which is reduced to form iodine. The book narrates how Israelites conquered and reclaimed their lost land from non Israelites and how they used to turn from God whenever they are satisfied. But it is written in the Bible that, the guilty are by no means cleared, as Exodus (34:7) says this is the reason why the Lord used several Kings and Judges like Deborah to help the people of Israel find their way back to Him. As the book reveals, it is evident that most of the judges were men (as they were most of the times referred to as Judges). The book talks about a great woman Deborah, also referred to as the bee , as a key judge in the entire book. This book unveils the importance of women (through acts and strengths of Deborah (mainly) and other heroic female characters) and their power to the readers. The Book of Judges narrates six women who are and will always be remembered by their outstanding and remarkable work. They are, Achsah, Deborah, Jael, Japhthah s daughter, Delilah and the identity of two of them is not revealed. O Connor (1980) suggests that, The book of Judges demonstrates this disparity as observed; women assume a vital function in its set up as the volume s subject is marginalization (278). I will talk about what it means to decolonize sociology of post apartheid South Africa using examples as I go. During that time, individuals actions were governed by feudal laws where kings and queens made decisions on behalf of the entire society. However, as the war between China and Japan unfolded, Roosevelt s actions began to be viewed as a violation of strict isolationism; by not invoking the neutrality law in this case, he had made a favorable situation for China since munitions to China continued to flourish. Although identified with one of those seeking peace, Roosevelt s isolationist mind was challenged by the German occupation of Czechoslovakia in 1939, which revealed the nature of Hitler to him―an international gangster who willed war on the world and therefore had to be stopped. In that respect, she follows along in the tradition of other black female musicians like Ma Rainey and Nella Laursen in challenging the status quo through their own music. As such, Carby is right in her analysis of Bessie Smith and other black female musicians in asserting their femininity whereas Chapman is limited in analyzing the perception of these musicians and not the actual music itself. Through Smith s performance of the song underscores the vulnerability and by extension the strength that her and other black females possess to deal with the dual prejudices of racism and sexism. At the time, George Eliot was writing her book, the industrial revolution was also taking place and economic and class values were changing. England was going through a series of tumultuous cultural, social and economic transformations. This could be reflected in the seemingly robotic work Silas does. He weaves continually only to save every penny into a box under his floorboards for him to count and worship. Silas first sees Eppie asleep by his fire and he sees not a ... • 34. Externalities Of Unemployment In Australia The problem of unemployment has been a significant one in Australia. Unemployment is a major cost to an economy not only in terms of opportunity cost of lost production but also in terms of major long term social costs including increased inequality, poverty and crime. Unemployment statistics reflect the total available labour force divided by the number of people recognised as being unemployed and are actively seeking work within a percentage. Australia s Unemployment rate currently stands at 5.7% with the RBA considering 5% unemployment a good guide. The cause of Australia s unemployment is widely varied and does not have a single root. One cause of increasing unemployment could be linked to the mining boom. The mining boom led to increased demand for Australian exports, and increased demand for the AUD on the FOREX market. This led to an appreciation in the AUD which led to increased relative export prices, and decreased international competitiveness in other industries such as manufacturing. A decrease in the demand for Australian manufactured goods then occurred, causing firms to decrease supply and cut costs, resulting in a decrease in the demand for labour, and therefore, ... The costs to the government are also significant as the government does not receive taxation revenue from unemployed people, and often provides unemployed people with social benefits and training programs. The government s revenue is thereby decreased, and the Current Account Deficit increases as leakages gradually outweigh injections within the Balance of Payments. If unemployment as the result of inadequate training or an inability to compete with globalised standards becomes evident, social unrest can also ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 35. How Did The Printing Press Contribute To The Reformation The printing press and its involvement in the reformation Sometime before 1450 Johann Guttenburg developed the printing press, this invention made the printing of lengthy texts far easier. In the years following Gutenberg s era to Luther s, printing as an industry was improving exponentially. The press received mechanical improvements, increasing efficiency. Printing also became a large industry with large facilities dedicated to printing. The Reformation would prove good to the printing industry as more and more lengthy material was written. Gone was the need for manuscripts and the long process of hand written works. Martin Luther nailed his Ninety Five Theses to the door of the Wittenberg church on October 31, 1517. He wanted to discuss ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It was important to Luther and indeed any writer to pick the best publisher for the job. Grunenberg was used to publish Luther s Seven Penitential Psalms. Grunenberg s placement in Wittenberg University was very fortuitous for Martin Luther as he was able to monitor and oversee all the work that Grunenberg was doing for him while he was teaching at Wittenberg. At some point Luther became unhappy with the work Grunenberg and went on to work with Melchior Lotther who established a printing shop in the University to work for Luther . Luther and Lotther had a good working relationship and Luthers publications prospered under Lotthers printing. If Luther was placing such an emphasis on the relationship and work ethic of his printer, then we could conclude from this that Martin Luther himself placed a great emphasis on the printing press and recognised it s importance. Without its invention, the speed and reach of Luther s and indeed other reformer s writings would have been stunted. The press allowed Luther to try new things when it came to publishing such as publishing the first part of a book to see how much interest there was for it before releasing the rest. This could be used to reduce the chance of a financial disaster and could possibly be the first time such a thing was ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Web Architecture Web architecture: 1 A diagram explaining how the internet works and description of the world wide web The World Wide Web is a system of internet servers that contain documents formatted in HTML. This supports links to other documents and also supports graphics, audio and video. 2 Internet Service Providers (ISP); An internet service provider (ISP) is a service that provides access to the internet. They provide the user with services such as broadband and phone services. For a monthly price the user is provided with a router which they can then connect to either with a wired or wireless connection. An internet connection enables the user to connect many devices to the internet at the same time. The router and phone are normally plugged in to the same socket which then connects the router to the internet. Internet service providers may also provide the user with an e mail address as a part of the service. Different providers offer different packages for different prices, for example some may have a capped usage which may be better for people who do not use the internet as much and would be able to save money by purchasing this.
