Remarkable Rocket Essay
The Remarkable Rocket
I chose this story because I read it two weeks ago
The story is about prince wanted to marry.
The prince waited for his Russian bride for a whole year and his bride was very beautiful.
When she arrived, he met her in front of the castle gate and she looked like a white rose.
When he kissed her hand, her face reddened and a young Page to his neighbor Red rose and the king
ordered to increase his salary As he received no salary at all . (Wilde, (2000), p.64)
Since the princess had never seen fireworks before, the king decided to make a firework show at the
party on the occasion of his son s marriage to Princess.
The writer sent a soul into the fireworks that began to talk to each other freshly and amicably pleasant
conversation.
They started talking about love and romance and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
where I liked the story very much because of its wisdom and deep meaning of the human soul and the
influence of the arrogance on the human. I agree with her that the story is not quite interesting but as I
said before it has a big denotation.
2 My friend Ianislava Chalbysheva gave a hort summary of the story but it was very useful and
wonderful. And I really agree with her that : do not be overly narcissistic, or you will go down. It is
really very expressive phrase, where the excessive narcissism may destroy our lives. The world we
live in now do not contains narcissism in many situations.
3 For friend Viviana Sykes I agree with her that the writer turn of events from the romantic story to the
fireworks were a bit disappointing, but this change was necessary to talk about the arrogance and its
influence on the human, and the writer liked to reflect his talk about this idea in non human
personalities because of the sensitivity of the subject and because the arrogance exists in the human
soul of many people.

Characteristics Of The Chesapeake And New England
With the discovery of the New World in 1492, came the English in hopes of starting again in a new
land. Through violence and other vile tactics, the English were able to remove most of the natives
from the land and start creating their new societies. While this rebuilding occurred, the English split
into two distinctive groups known as The Chesapeake and New England. In documents from both
colonies, set in the 1600 s, we will examine how the same group of people can have completely
different social characteristics, economics, and religion.
In the two regions, social structures completely differed from each other because they had different
goals for how their territory would function. In New England, the structure was almost a complete
copy of the one they had back home. Document B suggest this when it lists the travelers of those who
would be arriving in New England. The Document implies that complete families along with their
servants and herders came to New England with the idea to contain their tight knit community way of
living. They wanted everyone to be comfortable in this new space that ultimately was there to serve as
a religious sanctuary that spread the word of god. Unlike the New England citizens who aspired to be
connected the people from The Chesapeake lived individual work focused life styles. In Document C
it describes the people traveling to The Chesapeake as most men who were at the working age. This
implies that The Chesapeake citizens lived a

The Rainbow Community Center of Contra Costa County (RCC), as well as the current measures it
uses for evaluating the services they provide. The program will be described with an emphasis on the
counseling and case management programs, which currently do not have a method of gaining the

for the Counseling and Case Management Programs will be provided along with suggested
improvements and an improved evaluation tool suggestion.

Staffing
The staff at RCC is fluid, ranging from 8 to 10 full time and 10 to 13 part time paid employees. Many
of the paid staff are responsible for more than one job. The intern programs also vary; the Mental
Health program varies from 3 to 8, MFTi and ACSW interns, the Case Management program varies
from 6 to 8 MSW interns. The diversity of the paid staff is narrow with much of staff are Caucasian,
while only 6 staff members are People of Color. (B. Schlichtig, personal communication, January 24,

The RCC offers services to LGBTQ youth, through Operation Q, which includes social activities,
advocacy/support in the schools and outside community, one on one counseling/case management,
and family support. Operation Q is split into two age groups, Skittles ages 10 to 13 and a group for 14

Macro Partisanship Summary
The reading on macropartisantish this week lead us to a simple conclusion and that is what is a good
measure of partisanship. Measuring artisanship seem to be primordial to study that phenomenon. The
first step in that study might be the conceptualization. The fight different between Mackuen, et al and
Abramson and Ostrom was mainly about the source of the data. Asking question about someone
partisanship or the party he usually affiliate himself to are 2 different things. Asking the first question
might lead to bugger shift in partisanship in their result because people might change their affiliation
based on current events or the economic performance of an incumbent candidate. To know if
economic performance can lead to a change in macro partisanship ... Show more content on

I think it is also worth noting that Green and Palmquist use the NES poll data in their study which
bring us back to the first question which is how to accurately measure partisanship? If question asked
by pools can heavily change the result of studies we need to know what question to ask when we are
measuring short term variance and when we are measuring long term variance. I think the Gallup poll
might be useful to measure the short term variance in macro partisanship and the NES and GSS poll
might be effecting when it comes to long term shifts in partisanship. However these article failed to
discuss the polls in general and find if the interviewed population is representative of the US
population. Abramson and Ostrom also briefly talked about the effect telephone poll can have on polls
result but it was discussed in depth. In last week Alan S. Gerber and Donald P. Green found positive
effect of personal contract on voting. Doing interviews for polls might have better result than

Ecosystem In The Daintree Rainforest
Persuasive Essay The world is a book, and those who do not travel read only a page. Saint Augustine.
I am proposing to travel to Queensland, Australia this Summer along with a chaperone. I should go
because I would experience and learn about the complex ecosystem in the Daintree Rainforest. I
should also go because I would learn many new skills, such as scuba diving, surfing, and snorkeling.
The last reason I should go is I would learn about Australia s culture and history. I should go because I
would experience the complex tropical rainforest ecosystem of the Daintree. The Daintree has a large
biodiversity of both plants and animals. Many plants and animals found there cannot be found
anywhere else. For example, the Daintree has a plant called the Idiot Fruit. It has seeds as large as a
human fist, as well as many other characteristics specific to that plant. This plant is unique to about
230 hectares of the Daintree Rainforest. Many other unique plants and animals can be found in the

Sports Injuries in Athletes
Sports injuries are a serious thing among teenage athletes and can affect them in numerous ways. It
affects both them the players and their teammates, because there is a shortage of a player. The biggest
problem that all athletes face is getting injured in the sports they are playing especially high school
sports. When you are playing a sport the last thing on your mind is to get injured and get out of the
game. Your alternative goal is to scored and beat your opponent. Sports injuries are serious in school
because they are not being watched or taken in serious considerations. They are taken for granted and
not particularly paid attention to. Injuries are one of the dangers in playing a sport. It prevents you
from playing for a while or sometimes never. The absolute way to bring an injured player back to his
or her feet again is by curing them and the prevention method or methods of avoiding getting injured
again. Heeling the injured players might help them get back on their feet but most of the times after
been heeled they are not able to do what they used to do before at a 100% they get more injured and
because they might have to stay away or prevent doing certain things . Therefore because of injuries,
numerous players miss out on their favorite sport they like to play.
Sports injuries refer to the kind of injuries that is most common during occasional sports or activity.
Some injuries are often accidents or bad training practices, improper equipment,

Using The Methods Of Categorization And Compartmentalization
Check One Using the methods of categorization and compartmentalization in order to more easily
comprehend difficult subjects is natural, yet when the objects subjected to forced categorical
placement are human beings, how can this method still be justified? When taking a standardized test,
filling out legal paperwork, or taking a census, we are presented with a question that, in some cases,
might be more difficult than all of the following questions on an exam. Staring up from the page are

imposed their self righteous attitudes of white supremacy on their newly acquired lands. These ideals
involved in the creation of the binaries of black and white, which originate in the slave and master
relationship established in the exploitation of African (black) slaves by European colonizers and
plantation owners (white). In L. Kaifa Roland s Cuban Color in Tourism and La Lucha: An

Frederick Douglass Disobedience
This quote sparks interest due to disobedience often containing a negative connotation. However, in
this quote disobedience is honorable, and to be called disobedient is a compliment. According to
Wilde, disobedience is beneficial and without it social progress could not be made. Without
disobedience, society is unable to change or improve from past mistakes. Without rebellion or
disobedience, what will promote people to act on their injustices? Rebellion and disobedience are
beneficial in promoting social progress. Through it, citizens are able to bring issues and injustices they
want acknowledged to the forefront. Through these ways, they try to make the world a better place for
everyone and to bring people to the realization as to why the issues that they face are at fault and that
they should be restored. In relation to the novel, The Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass,
Frederick Douglass s disobedience ultimately sparked his freedom. Being introduced to the heart
rending shrieks from his aunt at such a young age, slavery has implanted a long lasting effect on his
life. Often times, when one experiences a painful memory in the manner such as, watching a family
member hit until they are covered with blood, sparks a fire to stand up for what is right in the back of
their mind. Douglass carried those visions of his aunt along with him his whole life, as well as his own
repulsive images and memories. These memories brought him to his jurisdiction of fighting back

VAP is a growing problem in health care facilities which increases the cost of patient care and
increases patient care time, hospital length of stay, and patient morbidity. Ventilator associated
pneumonia increases healthcare costs by more than $40,000 per hospitalized patient (Lisboa, Kollef,
Rello, 2008). Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services plan to stop paying hospitals for necessary
care caused by preventable complications including nosocomial infections resulting in unintended
fiscal circumstances (Lisboa et al.). 2 The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) established
recommended guidelines to decrease the risk of VAP. It is these best practice interventions that nurses
should follow when caring for mechanically ventilated patients. The 2003 CDC guidelines reported
that 63% of admitted patients in the ICU have oral colonization associated with a pathogen resulting
from VAP (Cason, Tyner, Saunders, Broome, 2007). The CDC provided a set of seven guidelines to
reduce risks related to hand washing, wearing gloves, suctioning, elevated head of bed (HOB),
education, oral hygiene program, and use of antiseptic rinse. Studies suggested that best practices for
reducing VAP were not consistently implemented. According to the Centers for Disease Control,
Pseudomonas aeruginosa and gram positive Staphylococcus aureus were the two most common
bacteria linked to VAP (Babcock et al., 2004). Pseudomonas

The Mallee Region of Victoria
Location and Contents:
The Mallee region of Victoria is situated in North West Victoria and covers an area of around 44,000
square kilometres. The region is known to be associated with the adjacent land of South Australia and
New South Wales and is also recognised to join with the Wimmera and Loddon regions of Victoria.
Also, because of the large area which the region covers and the diversity it beholds, it is sometimes
distinguished into two sub regions, the north and the south. Whilst 38% of the land is occupied by the

Hydrosol is a very wet kind of soil and is saturated for the majority of the year, often located where
former lake beds occur. Sudosol is more sodic than acidic, it is a Texture Contrast Soil and therefore
there is a strong contrast between the surface and the subsoil. This is the most common type of soil in
the Mallee region. Vertosols are soils which grow and shrink, causing cracking when the soil dries out.
They occur along the creek and river beds as well as the broad plains of the Mallee. Along the
coastlines of the Mallee are Calcarosol soils, they, unlike Sudosols and Vertosols, do not have a strong
texture contrast throughout its layers. Lastly, two sandy soils have been identified in the Mallee
region: Rudosol and Tenosol. Rudosols are very young and undeveloped soils and are widespread in
the Big Desert and Sunset Country. Tenosols are also rather undeveloped and occur in the same areas
as Rudosols. Tenosols generally have a low water holding capacity and fertility . Having a vast
selection of soils can only mean that a vast selection of produce comes from the area.

Gender Stereotypes In The 1980 s
The 1980 s are typically viewed as being a great decade for the United States; the Cold War came to
an end, the economy experienced major growths under President Reagan, and the United States was
starting to emerge as the sole world power whose actions with regards to foreign policy, economics,
and social culture would influence how the rest of the world would react in the decades that followed.
However, the 1980 s also consisted of the AIDS epidemic. The AIDS epidemic was first identified in
the United States in 1981 and by the time the first antiretroviral AZT was approved and released for
treatment of HIV/AIDs in 1987, 48,000 people had died directly as a result of AIDS, and over 700,000

How Does Wilfred Owen Describe the Horrors of War in Dulce...
The First World War was a time of great loss of life and bloodshed. Wilfred Owen, a soldier fighting
with the British Army, wrote the poem Dulce et Decorum est to describe, possibly to the public, the
horrific consequences of taking part and fighting in the war. During the poem, he describes the
aftermath of a poison gas attack, and the injuries sustained by a soldier whom had inhaled the deadly
substance. Owen uses gruesome imagery to vividly show in verse the horrible death the soldier faces,
in the trenches of France. The poem Dulce et Decorum est is widely regarded as one of the greatest
war poems ever written, and is a fine example of an anti war protest in the form of poetry.
The title of the poem is taken from an ode from a Roman ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Slight confusion can actually be perceived, as the ecstasy of fumbling ensues, with the soldiers
obviously struggling to fit the clumsy helmets just in time. This just in time part implies that everyone
is okay, and has successfully put on their gas mask before the gas started to work its chilling effects.
However, one soldier unfortunately fails to apply his mask, as is told as he was yelling out and
stumbling...flound ring like a man in fire or lime. The horrible sight is witnessed by the narrator, dim,
through the misty panes (of the mask) and thick green light, which is actually the hazy, slightly
luminescent fluid that hangs around them, probably chlorine gas. It is described as a green sea in the
next line, and so I think that this is a reference to the huge area it would cover, blighting anyone who
crossed within the vicinity. The simile which compares the man s actions to one who would be in fire
or lime is describing his desperate attempts in vain to help himself. Lime is a substance that would
burn human tissue, much like acid.
The narrator tells of how he sees the man drowning and then of how he constantly dreams about the
wretched being, in all my dreams, before my helpless sight, he plunges at me, guttering, choking,
drowning. The victim would have experienced a sensation likened to that of drowning, as the gas
inflames the lungs and takes up the space that

Eccles Mining Disaster
Mining has historically been one of the most important industries in West Virginia. It s so important to
us. Miners are strong, tough, hardworking people who work or has worked in dangerous conditions. It
s difficult to imagine the miners didn t see the possibility of an explosion every day they went to work
in the mines. Perhaps they did and they still went, aware of the possibility but going anyway because
their families needed to eat. This essay will explore what happened in Eccles mining disaster of 1914.
There were only 1500 people in Eccles, a West Virginia town where almost everyone was a miner. We
depend economy on the continuation of the coal mines. Eccles coal mine was owned by the
Guggenheims and actually considered relatively safe in comparison to other mines. At the time it was
the second most disastrous explosion of all time.
The miners in Eccles used a new invention called the carbide lamp. It worked better than the oil wick
lamps used before 1910 and seemed safer besides the unique odor of the acetylene gas emitted by the
lamps. On April 28, 1914, the day of the Ecles mining disaster, the flame on one of these lamps met
with a pocket of gas and exploded in mine shaft No 5. That explosion set off an explosion in mine

Eccles, who most assuredly knew many of those who d passed away, rushed to the mines, attempting
to get past the cordoned areas. So many bodies were found that it was decided a morgue must be
established before any more were removed from the mine. Although the rescue effort continued, very

My Philosophy Of Teaching Language
My philosophy of teaching language is that in order for a child to achieve language they have to have
the desire to learn it. In my short time, I have overseen teachers implement a student centered learning
environment. Learning in my future classroom will always occur within cooperative and collaborative
group work. Having observed this strategy, this strategy is completely effective and positive to
reaffirm and develop strong student to student and instructor to students relationships. This only
reassures and establishes an honest and sincere communication in classrooms. I would also do my best
to create a positive and enjoyable environment for my future students, which motivates them to
participate actively in the activities. In today s classrooms, I find, they are becoming extremely diverse
in socioeconomic, academic, disability and ethnic backgrounds. To be able to provide a connection
and identity with the English language only becomes a more challenging task to achieve due to the
diversity of the group of students. Apply knowledge of language to understand how language
functions in different contexts, to make effective choices for meaning or style, and to comprehend
more fully when reading or listening (Arizona College and Career Readiness Standards). However, as
my duty and responsibility as an instructor, I am obligated to design activities that address the diverse
abilities and needs of each and every student. One of my primary goals of teaching is to help

Big 10 Basketball Analysis
The Big 10 is in the middle of what is obviously down year. Still, there is not a Big 10 team with a
losing record and the majority of the league still has a chance at making the tournament. That being
said, if the bracket was drawn up right now, only Purdue, Michigan State, Ohio State, and Michigan
would actually be in the tourney. Maryland and Minnesota are both still have a chance of popping the
tournament bubble, and while Northwestern is currently a lackluster 11 7, they re a team that has the
potential to make a run and squeeze their way into the tournament. It s worth noting that Penn State is
sitting at 13 6 so if they win the majority of their conference wins they could slide their way in. Really

America Is A Society That More Than A Little Bit Of...
America has become a society that more or less runs online. The Internet is where we do our
shopping, our reading, where we interact with others, both socially and romantically, and where the
average American spends a large amount of time. In 2013, it was reported that the average American
adult would spend three hours a day on social media and networking sites talking to others and
playing games (Staff, 2013). These sites know everything about us, our birthday, age, gender, political
standing, what music we like, what stores we shop at. In this type of digital environment, nothing that
is private remains so for long, especially for prominent figures, like celebrities, movie stars, and
political figures. Congressman Anthony Weiner found this out not too long ago when one of his
private messages was broadcast publicly via Twitter, creating a snowball effect that all but ended his
Congressional career. We as a society like nothing better than a little bit of political scandal.
In May of 2011, a risque photo of Democratic Congressman, Anthony Weiner, appeared for a short
period of time on the man s Twitter account before begin hastily removed by the man s public
relations representative. The photo and incident were later reported and described to the public by
Conservative blogger Andrew Breitbart, causing the story to go viral. In response, Weiner told

Role Of Energy Development Sustainable Development Goals...
Roles of Energy in Sustainable Development Goals
Introduction
History of sustainable development
Sustainable development is the development that meets the needs of the present generation without
compromising the ability of the future generation from meeting their own needs (Brundtland, 1987).
This concept has developed more from the intergenerational framework as indicated in the brundtland
report to incorporate the three pillars (social, environment and economic) as a whole through series of
environmental meeting held.
Today, the focus is on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) which was established in 2015.It is an
improvement of the millennium development goals (MDGS) in that, its focus is in all countries in
terms of not what the developed nations should do for the developing nations but addresses major
global challenges and the need for all nations to work together in order to promote global wellbeing
for the present and future generation. This contrast with the MDGs, where the focus was on only
developing countries (Sachs, 2012). Additionally, SDGs provides a better coverage of social
economic, environmental and institutional dimensions by discussing the global environmental issues
on water, ocean, ecosystem and climate change as stipulated in (ICSU, ISSC, 2015).
Energy being core in ensuring sustainable development by addressing global issues such as climate
change, poverty, has been an agenda in various environmental meeting for instance agenda 21 which

order to make is as good as it was. This is when Antoine had run away and is on the beach looking at

scene was monumental for the movie, I could understand why. The moment being captured is looked

brings into the speech that opposing views should not make the citizens blind to the right decision. He

Diodotus goes on to talk about how the punishment imposed on the Mytileneans would benefit them.

application of the shortest path can be used over and over in different scenarios, for example, finding

Burning The United States Flag
Burning the United States Flag Through the years of America, there have been multiple accounts of
flag desecration. Flag desecration is a term that is used to describe a various set of acts that
intentionally destroy, damage, or mutilate a flag in public, and in this case, the American flag. Citizen
s typically doing this treasonous act when they want to make a political point against their country or
policies in the country or another country. Some of these actions include: burning it, urinating or
defecating on it, defacing it with slogans, stepping upon it, damaging it with stones or guns, cutting or

The court said the government cannot carve out a symbol of unity and prescribe a set of approved
messages to be associated with that symbol . . . The court also said that the flag burning did not cause
or threaten to cause a breach of the peace. After this happened, Texas asked the Supreme Court to look
at their situation and Johnson s case. In result to this case, the majority of the court noted that the
Texas law discriminated upon the law. They feel that this act might bring up anger in other people and
more flag burning. The majority of the court also agreed that Johnson had the right to use that form of
symbolic speech because it is protected by the first amendment. They find this act is very offensive,
but the society s outrage alone is not justification for depressing Johnson s freedom of speech. The
first amendment, as written in the constitution, forbids the abridgement of speech , but we have not

These ways of speech can also be used in actions, and these actions can express an idea of language as

EO is frequently used to treat viral infections such as influenza and the common cold. EO is also
regarded to have antimicrobial activity against pathogenic bacteria, therefore it is also used to treat
wounds to prevent infection.
Penicillin G.
Penicillin G. is also known as Benzylpenicillin. It is used to treat a variety of bacterial infections.
Usually Penicillin G is obtained from microbial sources such as Escherichia coli (Cole, 1969). It
works on most Gram positive bacteria, and some Gram negative bacteria.
Gentamicin
Gentamicin is also an antibiotic, like Penicillin, and is used to treat a number of bacterial infections.
Unlike Penicillin, Gentamicin is more effective on Gram negative bacteria, and only works on a
limited number of Gram positive bacteria. It was first used in 1963 as the first clinically useful broad
spectrum antibiotic. (Edson RS, Terrel CL, 1999).
Trigene
Trigene is a disinfectant and was used in the experiment as a positive control.
Sterile water
Sterile water was used in the experiment as a negative control.
Escherichia Coli
Escherichia coli (E. coli) is a pathogenic, Gram negative bacteria, and was used in the experiment to
determine the antimicrobial activity of TTO and EO.
Methods
Choosing reagents
Before the preparation for the experiment could be started, reagents needed to be picked. In the case of
this experiment, the reagents were chosen to be TTO and EO.

Understanding Social Influence On Online Choice
Purpose of the Study
To Switch or Not to Switch: Understanding Social Influence in Online Choice is a study that was
focused on the role of social influence in online recommender systems. Haiyi Zhu and Bernardo A.
Huberman, the authors of the study, were interested in studying how often peoples choices are affected
by other individuals endorsements. The hypothesis of the study is that individuals are more likely to
reverse their opinions when the reversion causes less self inconsistency (the confirmation pressure is
weaker) or the opposing social opinions are stronger (the conformity pressure is stronger) .
Methodology
The researchers conducted various online experiments. The participants in the study went to the Rankr
website to select their preference of one image out of two images displayed. They first did this with no
knowledge of what people before them picked. The second time the participants had indications of
what others had chosen. The researchers were trying to determine whether seeing other peoples
preferences affected the participants choices. This setup allowed for social influence to be measured
based on if people changed their selections between the two instances. The researchers wanted to see
if the participants changed their mind after seeing what others preferred.
In addition, the researchers wanted to manipulate the pressure of social opinions by changing the time
between the two selection periods. The first time participants selected their

Analysis Of Orson Welles Citizen Kane
In 1941, the release of Orson Welles Citizen Kane saw the New York Times label it as the riding crest
of perhaps the most provocative publicity wave ever to float a motion picture . Withstanding against
contextual influences and alterations this historically epic melodrama has endured time, continuing to
rouse meaning and differing interpretations for the individual of yesterday, today and tomorrows
humanity. Setting precedent for a new world of cinematography to arise, Welles utilised the day s
context to create what was believed to be a political allegory warning against the dangers of
isolationism. Nonetheless, as the decades roll on and society itself sees extensive, even transformative

The illustration of overlapping gates is understood to stand as a metaphor for Kane s obsessive,
materialistic yearning. Additionally, we can interpret these gates as the barriers, blocking interpersonal
connections from his mentalities. And finally the castle becomes a symbol of a greater power and
disparaging fortune through its presentation in a domineering light amidst the background of the shot.
Hence, such analogy s sensualise the concept of irony as deep focus shots exemplify the grand
residence of Xanadu in its decrepit, uncared for form. Aiding these observations is dreary, non diegetic
lyrical play and dark lighting, which infers the proposition that whilst consumerism evokes appealing
physical attributes, obsession and lustful desires create eventual destruction. But was this Welles
original intention? Did he want us to see Xanadu as a metaphor for the miserable nature of excessive
wealth? Ladies and gentlemen, we are here purposely driven to question the meaning of narrative
structure, we are prompted to make our own, individualised understanding of the scene and this is
central to what you, I and society itself finds most appealing we enjoy to be challenged and relate with

Historically, the United States has directly tied its public education system to income because a
substantial portion of school funding is raised through local tax revenue (Owens, Reardon, Jencks,

value of local property and income levels. Thus we find situations like Rancho Palos Verdes, where
wealth is necessary to afford homes and the cost of living, and nearby Long Beach, where families are
far more likely to be able to live within their means. Often, affluent counties claim that affordable
housing brings no net benefits to the community and hurts property values (Mueller, 2007, p. 1). The
benefits, however, are often overlooked and can be particularly impactful in educational spaces
without which would be severely lacking in an income segregated system. Richards (2014) finds that
attendance zone boundaries reinforce racial disparities in schools and can be manipulated by local
officials in ways that disenfranchise or zone out certain students in favor of others to

Organizational Climate Within An Organization
Organizational Climate
Kaitlyn McAtee
MGT 570 Managing Human Resources
Colorado State University Global Campus
Dr. Rudy Smartt
October 8th 2014 Organizational Climate The organizational climate within an organization or
company is very important and complex. When two companies merge with different corporate culture,
it is important to find out which cultures to keep and which to lose. In determining the best practices,
it is important to keep your employees feelings in mind. After all, without the employees, there may
be no organization. Acquiring a company that has a different culture than the culture instilled in my
company, will bring up many challenges and unique topics. The way management addresses these
challenges, will ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In opening the lines of communication, it will help unify the culture by suggesting that each employee
learn about each other and their work to be on the same page. When opening the lines of
communication, an organization also needs to establish the rules for both of the organizations to
follow.
Rule Implementing
Implementing rules and sticking to them is a large process in merging two companies. This becomes
such a large process because both of the companies have different cultures that need to be addressed.
In the most ideal situation, the manager would overview the two cultures and establish what is to be
kept, in doing so the new culture and rules will be set forth and the employees will be required to
follow them. This will not be easy for those who have adapted to rules and do not want to change their
ways. Sometimes feelings may be hurt, and employees may resign due to the new rules implemented.
In order to keep the peace, one must explain that things will be changing, and they hope that those
employed will embrace the change and work together with management to make the transition as easy
as possible. Some employees may not see this fit, and will resign or complain with the new rules. The
rules are in place for all of the employees, despite their age. Therefore, management needs to be strict
on how they implement the rules. The consequences need to be told up front, and if someone if

Comparing Brutus And Cassius In Shakespeare s Julius Ceasar
In Shakespeare s Julius Ceasar , Brutus and Cassius are very important characters, sharing many
similarities and differences. Brutus is a more dominant and noble character, honest and naive. Cassius
is a more manipulative, perceptive character. They both take part in the more dramatic scenes and are
essential to the play itself. They differ in the way they perceive Antony as a threat to the assassination
plot, their dominance in personality, and their moral obligation. To begin with, an important similarity
of Cassius and Brutus is that they re both two of the most noble and honorable people in Rome, and
both end up in the going down similar paths throughout the story. They re both conspirators that
assassinated Caesar and in the end they both fought the battle against Antony and Octavius, both
Cassius and Brutus died the same way. However, despite them having had similar roles and plots they
have very different personalities. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
His impulsive personality is shown clearly in his argument with Brutus when he becomes angry over a
little insult, taking the argument so seriously that he offers his life to prove he is right. Cassius s
personality led to his downfall when he murders Caesar over jealousy and anger without thinking
clearly the about consequences, and because of his murder of Caesar he and his conspirators were
condemned by the Romans as traitors and murderers instead of bringers of justice; if Cassius had
thought about it more before he killing Caesar then he wouldn t have been condemned to death and
defeated by Antony s army. Cassius also showed cunningness as he could easily fool Brutus into
taking part in this plan by tricking him into thinking that Caesar is taking over Rome as a

Why People Drive In Theaters
Drive in theaters were once a staple throughout the country. Now they are almost non existent. The
entertainment unicorn still has value. It s an important experience that everyone should experience.
Especially millennials that have never been to a drive in theater. New technology often kills off and or
greatly reduces the interest it s predecessor receives .Phone booths and black and white televisions are
no longer commonly used. Millennials can discover the past thanks to the internet. However there is a
big difference between seeing something online and experiencing it in person. The odds of a
millennial experiencing scarce vintage technology is very low. But they can still experience a drive in
movie. There are still local drive in theaters in operation today. They are definitely out there. The trick

An Analysis of The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock Essay
The editors of anthologies containing T. S. Eliot s The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock invariably
footnote the reference to Lazarus as John 11:1 44; rarely is the reference footnoted as Luke 16:19 31.
Also, the reference to John the Baptist is invariably footnoted as Matthew 14:3 11; never have I seen
the reference footnoted as an allusion to Oscar Wilde s Salome. The sources that one cites can
profoundly affect interpretations of the poem. I believe that a correct reading of Eliot s Prufrock
requires that one cite Wilde, in addition to Matthew, and Luke, in addition to John, as the sources for
the John the Baptist and Lazarus being referenced. Furthermore, the citation of these sources can help
explain Eliot s allusion to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
But though I have wept and fasted, wept and prayed,
Though I have seen my head (grown slightly bald) brought in
upon a platter,
I am no prophet and here s no great matter... (81 83)
The reference is not only to Matthew 14:3 11, but also to Oscar Wilde s Salome, the play upon which
Richard Strauss based his opera Salome. In the biblical account, no motivation is ascribed to Salome
for wanting John the Baptist killed. In the versions by Wilde and Strauss, however, Salome is
passionately in love with the imprisoned John the Baptist, who, because he will not let the temptations
of the flesh corrupt his pure love of God, rejects her advances. Wilde s Salome, determined that if she
cannot have John no one will have John, asks Herod for the Baptist s head on a platter. John the
Baptist spurned Salome s affections while he lived; now that he is dead, Salome lavishes her kisses
upon the cold lips of the bloody corpse head.
Prufrock, too, has had his moments of temptation: he has known the arms already, known them all /
Arms that are braceleted and white and bare / (But in the lamplight, downed with light brown hair!)
(62 64). And these very sources of temptation, these arms that lie along a table, or wrap about a shawl
(67), eventually emasculate Prufrock by rejection:

Why Is Hector Inevitable
The death of Hector was inevitable. After Agamemnon insulting Achilles by having his men take
Achilles prize award (King Priam s daughter), Achilles contemplated if he should take revenge on the
topic but sat on the shore line instead to think it over. While Achilles is deciding whether to destroy
Agamemnon and his people the Trojans attack the Greeks and kill a lot of Achilles men. This was a
time I thought to myself that there was no way Achilles was going to sit back and do nothing about the
deaths of his men. After Agamemnon discovers his idea to attack Achilles people is not worth it, he
begs Achilles to participate in the war so he can kill him off himself. Led by Hector, son of Priam, the
Trojans still decide to fight after Achilles denies the invitation. Patroclus, Achilles good friend,
decides to fight the Trojans but in place of Achilles, so he wears the armor designated for Achilles. ...

Though some may call him cruel and incapable of feelings sadness, I find that his defense against
Hector to resemble his heart that he had for his friend Patroclus. The Goddess Athena pretends to be
Hector s brother to encourage Hector to fight Achilles and stop standing behind the wall. I think this is
a very important aspect in the tale because without Athena pretending to be Deiphobus, Hector might
not have even fought him. After defeating Hector, Achilles showed no sign of remorse and took the
body into the town to show his victory off. Even though readers can feel the fear that came from
Hector as he was slowly dying, Achilles gave no mercy because he was fighting for his people which
makes him a hero in my book. Others might say Achilles is a bad person for not allowing the body of
Hector to go back to his family, but in those times the the main purpose of ending a war was to
exchange the bodies to gloat over their success. In my mind, if Hector were to kill Achilles he would
have not shown him any mercy

The Rocket Book Report
In the Set Up, we learn the things that need fixing on the team. Rocket (voice of Bradley Cooper)
doesn t get along with anyone, especially Peter. Gamora (Zoe Saldana) has captured her sister Nebula
(Karen Gillan), who wants to kill her. Peter wants a romantic relationship with Gamora, yet yearns to
know who his father is. Even Yondu (Michael Rooker), the Ravager who raised Peter, is in a state of
stasis=death. Accused of breaking the Ravager code, he faces rejection from his mentor, and his crew
begins to accuse him of growing soft.
The Catalyst sets the A Story in motion, a MacGuffin that allows us to get to the heart of the real story.
Rocket steals some valuable batteries from the Sovereign, and the Guardians are pursued until a
mysterious individual saves them. Upon landing on a nearby planet, they learn that the man is Ego ...

As they spend time in their prison cell, the two are forced to converse, opening themselves up in
vulnerability, temporarily letting down their guard. Yondu demonstrates that he has a soft side, and
Rocket begins to trust him, finding a new ally. Later, the two will help each other transform.
Meanwhile, Peter has passed from his thesis world of seeking his father and has entered his antithesis
world of discovering what it is like to have that relationship. As Ego bonds with Peter, teaching him
about his new powers during the Fun and Games, Peter can t help but feel overjoyed. Much like a
child, he plays a game of catch with his father, an experience that almost seems too good to be true.
Of course, it is too good to be true. During the Midpoint, in which Peter thinks he has everything he
wants, Gamora questions Ego s motives, causing Peter to lash out at her. He s happy to have finally
found his place in a family, but Gamora tells him that he s already been a part of one. The Bad Guys

Crime Rate And Crime Rates
Complying with the order to release 9,600 inmates by year s end will increase the crime rate. Since the
release of one prisoner is associated with an increase of 14.86 crimes per year (Levitt 1996),
compliance is projected to increase crimes by 142,656 per year. It is possible to minimize the social
costs of crime despite this increase in crime rate, though. If inmates convicted of property crimes are
the release s focus, the subsequent social cost will be comparatively less than if it was otherwise
implemented. Sentence enhancements have been shown to reduce certain types of crime (Kessler and
Levitt 1999), but such measures are typically focused on the most frequent and dangerous offenders
(Kessler and Levitt 1999, p. 359), and those who commit property crime are unlikely to be classified
as such. So sentence reductions may increase violent crime rates, but the effect on property crime rates
is unknown. The best way to comply with the order, then, is to release inmates convicted of property
crimes and to not implement sentence reduction.
How to structure the release
Property crimes (burglary, larceny, and auto theft) are the most likely to increase following a release of
prisoners, but also the least costly. They make up 84.12% of the projected increase in crime, but only
15.96% of the projected social cost (Levitt 1996). Despite the greater increase in crime it would cause,
targeting property crime offenders for release is still an attractive option because of the

Observation And Company Analysis Of Panera Bread
The lock click open and the smell of bread takes over my senses. Walking though the bakery the lights
are turned off and you can see the shadows of our Panera logos and the comfortable seats. The oasis,
the home away from home, can be seen with the layout of the fireplace to the red recliners
surrounding it. Walking to the back, you see the setup of line and the bakery. Taking it all in, you
switch the lights on and make Panera come to life. Employees grab their apron, pin their name tag on
it and put their hat on to start the day. As they walk out to the front, they clock in. Reading the
deployment chart, they take their position for their shift. The two bakery openers split the jobs in half.

They love our service and the fact that the employees remember their orders every time they come in.
The things that I said about Bread Company are the same as others say as well. While talking with
Belma, she said, I wish it wasn t so expensive! But everything taste so good! We have had many
complaints about our prices being high. Our prices did rise recently, but that still has not stopped
people from coming in, even if it is just to get their daily coffee. We are a welcoming place getting
people in and out in just a few minutes. Bread Company offers online ordering (Rapid Pickup) where
you are able to place your order online and pay. This is a quick way to beat the line because your food
will be ready waiting for you when you arrive. Many customers also choose to call in their order so
the only thing they have to do is pay. Emina agreed that we do have easy ordering. Even though
Belma is a customer at out Kirkwood location, she described her service there the same as others
described it at our store: fast, easy, friendly, correct. To get those words about our service, the
employees have to communicate and work together. We need to be able understand each other.
Communicating is key because foods are modified all the time. A cashier could ring something in

  • 4. Remarkable Rocket Essay The Remarkable Rocket I chose this story because I read it two weeks ago The story is about prince wanted to marry. The prince waited for his Russian bride for a whole year and his bride was very beautiful. When she arrived, he met her in front of the castle gate and she looked like a white rose. When he kissed her hand, her face reddened and a young Page to his neighbor Red rose and the king ordered to increase his salary As he received no salary at all . (Wilde, (2000), p.64) Since the princess had never seen fireworks before, the king decided to make a firework show at the party on the occasion of his son s marriage to Princess. The writer sent a soul into the fireworks that began to talk to each other freshly and amicably pleasant conversation. They started talking about love and romance and ... I agree with her that the story is not quite interesting but as I said before it has a big denotation. 2 My friend Ianislava Chalbysheva gave a hort summary of the story but it was very useful and wonderful. And I really agree with her that : do not be overly narcissistic, or you will go down. It is really very expressive phrase, where the excessive narcissism may destroy our lives. The world we live in now do not contains narcissism in many situations. 3 For friend Viviana Sykes I agree with her that the writer turn of events from the romantic story to the fireworks were a bit disappointing, but this change was necessary to talk about the arrogance and its influence on the human, and the writer liked to reflect his talk about this idea in non human personalities because of the sensitivity of the subject and because the arrogance exists in the human soul of many people. • 5. Characteristics Of The Chesapeake And New England With the discovery of the New World in 1492, came the English in hopes of starting again in a new land. Through violence and other vile tactics, the English were able to remove most of the natives from the land and start creating their new societies. While this rebuilding occurred, the English split into two distinctive groups known as The Chesapeake and New England. In documents from both colonies, set in the 1600 s, we will examine how the same group of people can have completely different social characteristics, economics, and religion. In the two regions, social structures completely differed from each other because they had different goals for how their territory would function. In New England, the structure was almost a complete copy of the one they had back home. Document B suggest this when it lists the travelers of those who would be arriving in New England. The Document implies that complete families along with their servants and herders came to New England with the idea to contain their tight knit community way of living. They wanted everyone to be comfortable in this new space that ultimately was there to serve as a religious sanctuary that spread the word of god. Unlike the New England citizens who aspired to be connected the people from The Chesapeake lived individual work focused life styles. In Document C it describes the people traveling to The Chesapeake as most men who were at the working age. This implies that The Chesapeake citizens lived a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 7. Macro Partisanship Summary The reading on macropartisantish this week lead us to a simple conclusion and that is what is a good measure of partisanship. Measuring artisanship seem to be primordial to study that phenomenon. The first step in that study might be the conceptualization. The fight different between Mackuen, et al and Abramson and Ostrom was mainly about the source of the data. Asking question about someone partisanship or the party he usually affiliate himself to are 2 different things. Asking the first question might lead to bugger shift in partisanship in their result because people might change their affiliation based on current events or the economic performance of an incumbent candidate. To know if economic performance can lead to a change in macro partisanship ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I think it is also worth noting that Green and Palmquist use the NES poll data in their study which bring us back to the first question which is how to accurately measure partisanship? If question asked by pools can heavily change the result of studies we need to know what question to ask when we are measuring short term variance and when we are measuring long term variance. I think the Gallup poll might be useful to measure the short term variance in macro partisanship and the NES and GSS poll might be effecting when it comes to long term shifts in partisanship. However these article failed to discuss the polls in general and find if the interviewed population is representative of the US population. Abramson and Ostrom also briefly talked about the effect telephone poll can have on polls result but it was discussed in depth. In last week Alan S. Gerber and Donald P. Green found positive effect of personal contract on voting. Doing interviews for polls might have better result than telephone ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Using The Methods Of Categorization And Compartmentalization Check One Using the methods of categorization and compartmentalization in order to more easily comprehend difficult subjects is natural, yet when the objects subjected to forced categorical placement are human beings, how can this method still be justified? When taking a standardized test, filling out legal paperwork, or taking a census, we are presented with a question that, in some cases, might be more difficult than all of the following questions on an exam. Staring up from the page are the words Ethnicity: (Choose One) followed by a series of boxes next to words such as White , Black , Asian , etc. When did the colors White and Black , a singular phenotypic characteristic, come to define an entire race? This perception of color stems from colonial times when white Euro colonizers imposed their self righteous attitudes of white supremacy on their newly acquired lands. These ideals involved in the creation of the binaries of black and white, which originate in the slave and master relationship established in the exploitation of African (black) slaves by European colonizers and plantation owners (white). • 12. Frederick Douglass Disobedience This quote sparks interest due to disobedience often containing a negative connotation. However, in this quote disobedience is honorable, and to be called disobedient is a compliment. According to Wilde, disobedience is beneficial and without it social progress could not be made. Without disobedience, society is unable to change or improve from past mistakes. Without rebellion or disobedience, what will promote people to act on their injustices? Rebellion and disobedience are beneficial in promoting social progress. Through it, citizens are able to bring issues and injustices they want acknowledged to the forefront. Through these ways, they try to make the world a better place for everyone and to bring people to the realization as to why the issues that they face are at fault and that they should be restored. VAP is a growing problem in health care facilities which increases the cost of patient care and increases patient care time, hospital length of stay, and patient morbidity. Ventilator associated pneumonia increases healthcare costs by more than $40,000 per hospitalized patient (Lisboa, Kollef, Rello, 2008). Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services plan to stop paying hospitals for necessary care caused by preventable complications including nosocomial infections resulting in unintended fiscal circumstances (Lisboa et al.). 2 The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) established recommended guidelines to decrease the risk of VAP. It is these best practice interventions that nurses should follow when caring for mechanically ventilated patients. The 2003 CDC guidelines reported that 63% of admitted patients in the ICU have oral colonization associated with a pathogen resulting from VAP (Cason, Tyner, Saunders, Broome, 2007). The CDC provided a set of seven guidelines to reduce risks related to hand washing, wearing gloves, suctioning, elevated head of bed (HOB), education, oral hygiene program, and use of antiseptic rinse. Studies suggested that best practices for reducing VAP were not consistently implemented. According to the Centers for Disease Control, Pseudomonas aeruginosa and gram positive Staphylococcus aureus were the two most common bacteria linked to VAP (Babcock et al., 2004). Pseudomonas ... This contrast with the MDGs, where the focus was on only developing countries (Sachs, 2012). In result to this case, the majority of the court noted that the Texas law discriminated upon the law. They feel that this act might bring up anger in other people and more flag burning. The majority of the court also agreed that Johnson had the right to use that form of symbolic speech because it is protected by the first amendment. Understanding Social Influence On Online Choice Purpose of the Study To Switch or Not to Switch: Understanding Social Influence in Online Choice is a study that was focused on the role of social influence in online recommender systems. Haiyi Zhu and Bernardo A. Huberman, the authors of the study, were interested in studying how often peoples choices are affected by other individuals endorsements. The hypothesis of the study is that individuals are more likely to reverse their opinions when the reversion causes less self inconsistency (the confirmation pressure is weaker) or the opposing social opinions are stronger (the conformity pressure is stronger) . Methodology The researchers conducted various online experiments. The participants in the study went to the Rankr website to select their preference of one image out of two images displayed. They first did this with no knowledge of what people before them picked. The second time the participants had indications of what others had chosen. The researchers were trying to determine whether seeing other peoples preferences affected the participants choices. This setup allowed for social influence to be measured based on if people changed their selections between the two instances. The researchers wanted to see if the participants changed their mind after seeing what others preferred. In addition, the researchers wanted to manipulate the pressure of social opinions by changing the time between the two selection periods. The first time participants selected their ... The median income there is $50,985 about 40% of the Rancho Palos Verdes median. Similarly to the racial makeup within its schools, the percentages of Asian and white people are high for the county overall, in relation to others nearby (L.A. Times Data Desk, 2017). Historically, the United States has directly tied its public education system to income because a substantial portion of school funding is raised through local tax revenue (Owens, Reardon, Jencks, 2016, p. 1161). Some states can help offset discrepancies, but others are completely dependent on the value of local property and income levels. Thus we find situations like Rancho Palos Verdes, where wealth is necessary to afford homes and the cost of living, and nearby Long Beach, where families are far more likely to be able to live within their means. Often, affluent counties claim that affordable housing brings no net benefits to the community and hurts property values (Mueller, 2007, p. 1). The benefits, however, are often overlooked and can be particularly impactful in educational spaces without which would be severely lacking in an income segregated system. When opening the lines of communication, an organization also needs to establish the rules for both of the organizations to follow. Rule Implementing Implementing rules and sticking to them is a large process in merging two companies. This becomes such a large process because both of the companies have different cultures that need to be addressed. In the most ideal situation, the manager would overview the two cultures and establish what is to be kept, in doing so the new culture and rules will be set forth and the employees will be required to follow them. This will not be easy for those who have adapted to rules and do not want to change their ways. Sometimes feelings may be hurt, and employees may resign due to the new rules implemented. In order to keep the peace, one must explain that things will be changing, and they hope that those employed will embrace the change and work together with management to make the transition as easy as possible. Some employees may not see this fit, and will resign or complain with the new rules. The rules are in place for all of the employees, despite their age. In the biblical account, no motivation is ascribed to Salome for wanting John the Baptist killed. In the versions by Wilde and Strauss, however, Salome is passionately in love with the imprisoned John the Baptist, who, because he will not let the temptations of the flesh corrupt his pure love of God, rejects her advances. • 48. Crime Rate And Crime Rates Complying with the order to release 9,600 inmates by year s end will increase the crime rate. Since the release of one prisoner is associated with an increase of 14.86 crimes per year (Levitt 1996), compliance is projected to increase crimes by 142,656 per year. It is possible to minimize the social costs of crime despite this increase in crime rate, though. If inmates convicted of property crimes are the release s focus, the subsequent social cost will be comparatively less than if it was otherwise implemented. Sentence enhancements have been shown to reduce certain types of crime (Kessler and Levitt 1999), but such measures are typically focused on the most frequent and dangerous offenders (Kessler and Levitt 1999, p. 359), and those who commit property crime are unlikely to be classified as such. So sentence reductions may increase violent crime rates, but the effect on property crime rates is unknown. The best way to comply with the order, then, is to release inmates convicted of property crimes and to not implement sentence reduction. How to structure the release Property crimes (burglary, larceny, and auto theft) are the most likely to increase following a release of prisoners, but also the least costly. They make up 84.12% of the projected increase in crime, but only 15.96% of the projected social cost (Levitt 1996).
