Rooney Mara s Model Of Conventional Western Sexuality
The model, Rooney Mara, is depicted in this image in a very traditionally feminine fashion. However,
along with being traditionally feminine, she also appears to uphold euro centric beauty standards, as
her skin is very pale, her face possesses symmetry, high cheekbones, a heart shape overall and double
eyelids. These features are very much idealized in Western culture, and even other parts of the world
where a monolid is more common and so surgery is required to obtain a double eyelid and darker
skinned people will choose to bleach their skin to achieve their idealised whiteness.
Her makeup is done to enhance features like her cheekbones which have been contoured to highlight
their definition, and her lips are red and full which is commonly associated with a sexual appeal, in
that men often associate red lips with thoughts of sex or the vagina specifically, consciously or
subconsciously. The sexual appeal is also strongly blanketed with the undertones of ... Show more

In terms of conventional western femininity, the model has been groomed and presented to us as the
epitome of expected femininity, a standard that women should aspire to become and a guideline for
what a man should look for in a woman. Altogether, her appearance has time and thought out into it,
which is often a pushed rule onto women in that their appearance becomes their most important
aspect. Also, the lack of space the model takes is indicative of the dainty stereotype that women are
small and unable to complete most tasks without help, this also presents a toxic guideline for men; that
they are expected to take care of a woman and that she is helpless instead of equal division between
tasks, careers and daily functioning. The strength of the image and its portrayal of femininity is backed
up by the near complete lack of masculine traits being

Essay on Globalization and Human Trafficking
Trafficking in human beings is now the fastest growing business of organized crime. Men, women and
children are trafficked within their own countries and across international borders. More than one
person is smuggled across a border every minute which is the equivalent to ten jumbo jets every single
day. And the trade earns twice as much as the Coca Cola brand. (STOP THE TRAFFIK 2014)
According to estimates, more than 700,000 people are trafficked every year for the purposes of sexual
exploitation and forced labour. They are transported across borders and sold into modern day slavery.
Over the past decade, trafficking in human beings has reached epidemic proportions. No country is
immune. Clawson (2009) discusses how the search for ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Although human trafficking is the fastest growing process by which a person is enslaved, it is also the
fastest growing international crime and one of the largest growing incomes for organised crime. It is
estimated that at least 12.3 million people are victims of forced labour worldwide. Of these 2.4 million
are as a result of human trafficking. Consequently it 1.2 million children are trafficked every year.
(STOP THE TRAFFIK 2014) Six hundred thousand to eight hundred thousand men, women and
children are trafficked across international borders each year. Approximately eighty percent are
women and children and up to half of them are minors. Predominantly the vast majority of trafficked
people come from the poorest countries and the poorest strata of the national people. Human
trafficking is the second largest source of illegal income, being surpassed by drugs trafficking. Some
trafficking groups have been reported to be switching their cargo from drugs to human beings, in a
search of high profits at a lower risk. (STOP THE TRAFFIK 2014)
Trafficking affects every continent and most countries. Every country is affected by human trafficking
whether they are an origin country in which people are trafficked from, a transit country where people
are trafficked through or a destination where people are trafficked to. (Masika 2007)
There are three constituent elements of human trafficking. Firstly the act, such as recruitment,

Human Cells And The Human Body
Kidneys are one of the most essential organs in a human body which are crucial for blood filtration,
toxins, and waste removal and maintaining and regulating the body s pH. The researchers created
kidney structures from induced pluripotent stem cells (iPS) called organoids which have the function
and structural organization of a human fetal kidney in the first trimester. This study used the results of
a previous study where human embryonic stem cells were differentiated towards a renal lineage. As a
result, the progenitors for both collecting ducts and nephrons were generated from iPS. In that study,
the researchers found out that although both nephrons and collecting ducts originate from the
intermediate mesoderm layer, they develop at a different specific time and area from the mesoderm
layer. The intermediate mesoderm layer is a germ layer arising from the mesoderm, and it is important
in the development of kidneys, reproductive system, and lower urinary tract of the embryo. Thus, the
scientists exploited this temporospatial origin difference, and they identified the regulating mechanism
behind what caused the induction of collecting duct versus other kidney progenitors like the nephrons
for instance. As a result of this finding, kidney organoids were formed which were segmented into
distal and proximal tubules, loops of Henle, glomeruli, and podocytes which establish a
vascularization network. This study is important in near future because it can be used as a model for

Ivan Denisovich Research Paper
Ivan Denisovich is a prisoner of a labor camp in 1951, organized by Joseph Stalin and located in
Siberia. He is a former carpenter and is serving a ten year sentence for treason. Ivan is a poor and
uneducated peasant yet usually a decent prisoner. Except for one morning when he wakes up feeling
under the weather, he sleeps past the wakeup call thinking a kinder guard is on duty. He is found and
threatened to be punished with three days in a solitary confinement cell better known as the hole . Ivan
s real punishment is to wash the office floor of the headquarters and rushes to eat where he meets
Fetyukov. Fetyukov is a colleague of Shukhoy and he saved him from harsh punishment. He then goes
to the infirmary to be examined by Kolya who tells him he is not ill enough to get out of work. ...

Protein Synthesis Lab Report
Scientists found out that the formation of proteins (polypeptide chains) are dictated by the expression
of DNA. The DNA dictates the types of proteins that will be formed by making the sequence of
nitrogen containing bases. Each three base sequence has an equivalent code for the amino acid that
will make up the formation of protein (polypeptide). For example; the sequence of the three bases
CCA is a code for using the amino acid Proline (Pro), CTT is for the amino acid Leucine (Leu), TCT
is the code for the amino acid Serine (Ser), and so on. After coding, each of these amino acids will be
used to form long chains of amino acids called polypeptide chain. These chains will make up the
proteins. The synthesis of protein is a very complex process. The two major steps in protein synthesis
are (I) Transcription and (II) Translation. These are the process in the synthesis of protein from the
information expressed by genes. The figure below illustrates the synthesis of proteins in a cell. ...

Transcription. In this process, the information from the DNA sequence is copied to a complementary
RNA sequence. The type of RNA that is involved in this process is the messenger RNA (mRNA).
During a transcription process, when a sequence of DNA is expressed, one of the two DNA strands is
copied into the mRNA based on the base pairing rules. For example, in base pairing in DNA, Adenine
(A) is paired with Thymine (T), and Cytosine (C) is paired with Guanine (G. But when it comes to
base pairing rules in RNA, Adenine (A) is paired with Uracil (U) instead of Thymine (T), and
Cytosine(C) is paired with Guanine (G). Figure __ illustrates the transcription of DNA sequence into
the mRNA codons. It also shows the transfer RNA (tRNA) anticodon that is complementary to mRNA

Animal Testing Inaccurate
Animal Testing Are you allowing yourself to ignore the unnecessary, unethical, and inaccurate
experiments and tests that are being done to innocent animals every single day? Scientists, doctors,
and other experimenters do physical and mental tests on animals in search of answers. Over time the
horrible practices that were, and still are, happening to these animals on a daily bases were slowly
opened to the public and it seems like no one wanted to believe it. Slowly these ways are being
stopped but there are still labs testing these animals with no sympathy. Animal testing is unnecessary,
unethical, and inaccurate because humans are totally different than animals, there are other possible
ways to find answers, and the experiments done on ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Of the 26 million animals used, 95% of those animals are small rodents, birds, and fish (Listland). Not
many higher mammals are used, making this okay in their eyes. Their biggest support for how they
feel on this topic are facts that make animal testing look ethical and not as bad, just how the following
fact states. The human population of the United States eats about 9 billion chickens each year or more
than 340 chickens for each animal used in research. (listland). This quote shows not many of our
animals are being tested on even though 26 million may seem like a large number. In reality, though,
we are eating more than we are testing on and the little ones we are testing on won t make any
difference any way, they can reproduce just fine. Many people have argued over this fact, but a
question always pops up and never seems to be solved. Why is it okay for even the little number of
animals to be tested on? The small animals such as birds, fish, and mice have a right to live their lives
and just because they re small it doesn t lessen their importance or tell whether it is okay for them to
be tested

Business Models Of Priceline And Greentoe
Introduction
There are lots of business models that are used in our society today, such as: Product Service
Customization, Online Auctions, Group Purchasing, Affiliate Marketing, Find The Best Price, Name
Your Own Price, and Social Networking Web 2.0 Tools. According to How Things Work and
Entrepreneur, the Name Your Own Price business model is the top model to use not only when
opening up a starter business but in the business world period (2014, 2009). Priceline and Greentoe
are two of the most well known business that use the NYOP business model and are now described as
the top ranked travel and shopping sites in the United States . (Laudon Traver, 2014, p. 718)
Background
The concept of the NYOP model is to allow the consumer to set the initial bid for the service, or
product, they desire. The price can then increase based on the willingness of the consumer to haggle in
order to get the good or service. The company, Priceline, first initiated the Name Your Own Price e
commerce business model. Priceline s grown profit margins of $956 million in 2008 (Hinz, 2011),
secured the acceptance and success of the NYOP model. Although, there is a high profit margin, the
NYOP business model is limited to products such as the ones offered by Priceline. As described in our
text, it is unclear at this time if the Priceline business model can extend to other categories of products.
Experiments to sell gasoline and groceries through Priceline failed (Laudon

Examples Of Bravery In I Am Mordred
The code knights of the Middle Ages followed laid out strict guidelines for them. They were expected
be top class and perfect in many ways. Of the strict rules they followed, there were also several traits a
knight was expected to exhibit. These traits of bravery, loyalty and generosity are outlined in the
novel, I am Mordred. Firstly, bravery is exhibited in various places throughout the novel. The first is
when Nyneve comes to take Mordred from his fishermother. Though Nyneve is not a knight, she
exhibits great bravery in riding alone. Mordred spends much of his life refusing to fight and being
content with being called a coward, until he is faced with death. He fights back and is rescued by Sir
Lancelot who says, Now you re a blooded knight,

Merger Between Staples And Office Depot
Proposed Merger between Staples and Office Depot Leads to Concerns of Higher Prices
The effect and impact of corporate mergers of companies can be a significant change for the company
s prosperity and growth as well as the consumer s point of view also. Though few of the mergers and
acquisitions might be helpful for the company and be profitable as well there are always few risks and
failures that come with the process. According to a study the company has only 50% chance of
success when it comes to merger and acquisition. But still very big companies do the merger because
they can become bigger by combing with their competitors and end their competition. But sometimes
these mergers are expected to create a monopoly in the sector because they will dominate the whole
sector and cause a biased decision for the customers. This case talks about the merger between two of
the biggest office supplies companies Staples and Office Depot. Through this case we will discuss on
the merger between the two big companies created a tension of monopoly and whether or not it will be
profitable for both sides of the merger. This Mega Merger created a sense of stress in the Federal
Trade Commission (FTC) also forcing it to file a case against both the parties for creating a monopoly
in the business. If we look at this case in the view of a Firm Manager we can clearly identify the rights
and the wrong in the case and effectively point of out how it is going to be a failure of success by

Thomas Paine And John Paine Essay
Introduction Thomas Paine was born to Joseph Paine and Francis Cocke Paine in January, 1737. Paine
s father was Quaker, and his mother was Anglican. The religious controversies haunted Paine
throughout his life. His personal life ended in divorce and destitution. After barely avoiding debtor s
prison in 1774, a mutual friend introduced Paine to Benjamin. This introduction would change the
course of Paine s life. Franklin was immediately impressed with Paine and wrote a letter of
introduction for him. Paine suffered physical illness on his journey that very nearly killed him, but he
managed to survive the trip and arrived in Philadelphia September of 1774. After this new start, Paine
began his career of publishing articles and pamphlets in the colonies. His first published essay was
African Slavery in America. This article argued that slavery was unjust and inhumane. Paine also
wrote and co edited the Pennsylvania Magazine. He used this format to express new ideas and learn
about his audience. In January of 1776, Paine published Common Sense, which would unite his fellow
colonists on a path to either freedom or high treason. Paine continued to publish throughout the
ensuing revolution. He published a series of essays titled the American Crisis Papers. These sixteen
papers flamed the embers kindled by Common Sense; they urged the colonists to fight against their
perpetual enslavement by Great Britain. Although Paine s early works often sold out, his
contemporaries later

Analysis Of Walt Whitman s Crossing Brooklyn Ferry
The American Dream establishes a journey to achieve a goal in order to start a new life. In Crossing
Brooklyn Ferry by Walt Whitman, Walt Whitman illustrates the arrival to endorse a connection with
the American future. Therefore, Walt Whitman conveys the experience of arrival using images to
highlight the steps to reach the American Dream. As a result, the experience of arrival introduces a
similar goal people are trying to achieve, which connects one another. Nevertheless, the people
arriving are individuals who seek and work to find the American Dream and settle to a new beginning.
Thus, to represent the experience of arrival, Walt Whitman uses the symbols of the ferry, the natural
surroundings and the city of Brooklyn to convey the celebration of the American Dream. The symbol
of the ferry represents a journey to convey the experience of arrival. The ferry represents the arrival to
America because it establishes the beginning and end of a journey. When people leave on a ferry to
travel to a new destination they initially begin a new chapter in their lives. Therefore, the ferry is a
new way to change the perspective of a new world. Cross from shore to shore, countless crowds of
passengers! (103) establishes the similarities people have of obtaining the same goal. The crowds of
people on the ferry leave their home, to come and search for a new home. Thus, the shore represents
the land where people come from, which they come from different places, but arrive together

Cultural Culture Of Nigeria
Nigeria is located in West Africa along the coast of the Atlantic Ocean and bordered by Cameroon and
Benin to the east and west respectfully. It is comprised of over 180 million and is considered one of
the most populated nations in the world. It is a nation that is ruled by a caste of politicians, wealthy
business men, and the educated elite. The rest of the nation is subjugated to sub par living standards
and mediocre health care. At a glance one would think that Nigerians are doing well for themselves as
they have one of the largest economies on the continent; however most Nigerians are forced to live in
squander and are not given much of a chance to improve their lot. Nearly half of Nigeria s population
is made up of people that are not even considered adults in the United States. With over five hundred
ethnic groups Nigeria has an extremely diverse group although the Hausa, Yoruba, Ibo, and Fulani
make up nearly seventy percent of the nation. There is a minority of British, American, East Indian,
Chinese, white Zimbabwean, Japanese, Greek, Syrian and Lebanese immigrants in Nigeria as well.
(Simpson, 2008) Most immigrants are farmers, merchants, or missionaries. With all the ethnic groups
and immigrants there are nearly five hundred languages spoken in Nigeria. English is the official
language due to a brief British colonization which was ended around Nineteen Sixty. Nigerian culture
however did not suffer the same from British influence.

Review Of Vampire Bats
1. Vampire bats give blood to unrelated vampire bats for several reasons. Among the reasons are the
cost sharing of blood, the benefit of sharing blood and the probability that the bats that were given
blood will in turn reciprocate and give blood to other bats at a later date. The cooperative equilibria in
blood sharing among bats means that the sharing of blood will occur if the benefits of sharing blood
multiplied by the probability that blood sharing will be beneficial in the future is greater than the cost
of sharing blood. If a bat shares blood with another bat (even an unrelated bat), the bat that is the
recipient is expected to donate blood to other bats at a larger rate than it received at a later time.
A donor bat will give blood to a bat that has not had a meal so that this bat can have the opportunity to
hunt again, giving an increased chance that it will reciprocate to another bat that has not had a meal,
enabling the roost to maintain survival. In the event that a recipient bat does not reciprocate in the
future, that bat will not be donated to if it needs it in the future, thus allowing for recipient bats to be
donor bats in the future as needed.

If possible, wet the end first to cool it off. When you put the cigarette into the ashtray, make sure that
it is completely in and stable so it won t fall out and onto something that could catch on fire.
Don t overload outlets. If you can, unplug anything that you re not using to help clear some outlet
space. If you do have to have electronics plugged in, distribute them instead of putting them all into
one outlet.
Expert Insight * Run out of the house immediately if there is a fire. Don t run around trying to grab
valuables or other items, and absolutely don t run back in to get anything. Get to your neighbors house
to call 911.
Have multiple escape routes out of your home. If you don t plan one and there is an emergency, you
may get disoriented on where you should go. Having multiple plans set up could help you to get out
alive.
Stop, drop and roll if your clothes catch on fire. Running will only make the situation worse.
Misconceptions
* Many people think that a fire won t ever happen to them, especially in their own homes, but there is
always that chance even if you don t want to acknowledge it. Instead of being in doubt that it will ever
happen, you re better off taking precautions just in case. If a fire were to happen, it s better to be
prepared instead of being caught off guard

How Did The American Revolution Change The Nation
Change in the Nation The American Revolution transformed the colonies in numerous ways. The
Revolution caused a decline in paid domestic services. Wage workers became indentured servants and
were able to perform their required labor. Servants and apprentices were able to escape from their
masters. By 1800, indentured servitude had vanished from the nation. The Revolution was able to
create a separation between slavery and freedom. John Adams wished that every individual of society
could obtain land so the nation could avoid unequal or fixed social classes. Americans believed in
equal opportunity. Jefferson assumed if the nation was lacking economic resources it also lacked
freedom. He preferred a limited state. He passed laws that prohibited

Essay On Running Back
NFL Greatest Running Backs Running Backs in the NFL show great abilities on why they are one of
the most important position or players on the field. Creating big plays during games, becoming
playmakers and dominating the playing field combined with the ability to show power, great energy,
and strength is what makes great running back. Running backs and their qualities can become game
changers during games, helping the team in tough situations. Running backs use their qualities to get
out of trouble situations during games. Most running backs are known for their speed, one of the most
important trait of a RBs, and some use it much better and smarter than others. Jamaal Charles, Kansas

Great strength to help the team in tough situations. Like Marshawn Lynch, a Power back some say, he
throws defenders off of him while running and creates ways for him to make big yards. He once had a
run for sixty six yards with eight broken tackles during it. This makes him a great running back
because of the yards he racks up for his team, which he s taken them far with him. Another running
back is Eddie Lacy, getting short situation yards for the team for a first down or touchdown. He is
used to run up the middle of the offensive line and push up for the yard or touchdown that s a yard or
two away. Last is Matt Forte, tough hitter. He would usually stay at the in the backfield to block
during passes or even be moved up by the line and help block there. This makes him a great running
back because he uses his strength to give his QB some extra time and leave him with less pressure to
deal with. This makes strength RBs important. Running backs in the NFL are one of the most
important in the NFL, supporting the team in anyway, being the right hand for the QB. Running backs

Freedom of Speech
Freedom of speech
Freedom of speech is the freedom to speak freely without censorship. The synonymous term freedom
of expression is sometimes used to indicate not only freedom of verbal speech but any act of seeking,
receiving and imparting information or ideas, regardless of the medium used. In practice, the right to
freedom of speech is not absolute in any country and the right is commonly subject to limitations,
such as on hate speech .
The right to freedom of speech is recognized as a human right under Article 19 of the Universal
Declaration of Human Rights and recognized in international human rights law in the International
Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR). The ICCPR recognizes the right to freedom of
speech as the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, freedom of the press is not necessarily enabling freedom of speech. Judith Lichtenberg has
outlined conditions in which freedom of the press may constrain freedom of speech, for example
where the media suppresses information or stifles the diversity of voices inherent in freedom of
speech. Lichtenberg argues that freedom of the press is simply a form of property right summed up by
the principle no money, no voice .
Origins and academic freedom
Freedom of speech and expression has a long history that predates modern international human rights
instruments. It is thought that ancient Athens democratic ideology of free speech may have emerged in
the late 6th or early 5th century BC.[12] Two of the most cherished values of the Roman Republic
were freedom of religion and freedom of speech. In Islamic ethics, freedom of speech was first
declared in the Rashidun period by the caliph Umar in the 7th century AD. In the Abbasid Caliphate
period, freedom of speech was also declared by al Hashimi (a cousin of Caliph al Ma mun) in a letter
to one of the religious opponents he was attempting to convert through reason. According to George
Makdisi and Hugh Goddard, the idea of academic freedom in universities was modelled on Islamic
custom as practiced in the medieval Madrasah system from the 9th century. Islamic influence was
certainly discernible in the foundation of the first deliberately planned university in Europe, the
University of Naples Federico II founded by

Why Computers Don T Belong In The Classroom Summary
As the technology advances, more utilities become available to us that make our lives easier. This
correlates to the short essay Why Computers Don t Belong in the Classroom by Clifford Stoll. Stoll
argues that the high usage of technology in schools gives students the incentive have weak thinking
skills and not focus in class. I agree with the argument of Clifford Stoll as the usage of technology
simply motivates students to procrastinate, rely heavily on online resources and lose interest in class
activities. Technology provides a distraction for students as they would rather watch TV or play video
games. Clifford Stoll argues, If kids watch too much TV, why bring multimedia video systems into
schools. Stoll implies that the schools are allowing students to expect some sort of multimedia in their
classes. Showing videos during class may help some of the visual learners, but most students consider
this as a free time and not focus. Furthermore, Stoll states that teachers show videos during class due
to their lack of information. In this case, the teachers should prepare beforehand and keep the students
interested. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Theme Of War And Reflection Of Homer s Iliad
Through the course of history, the theme of war has been highlighted, dating back as far as Homer s
Iliad written around the year(s) 800 700 BC. The glorification of the heroic ideals of warriors took a
turn over the middle ages and drastically redefined how poetry took to it after the advent of
gunpowder. It is important to note here of what caused such a shift of emphasis on wars and warriors.
The key aspect was the technological advancement of modern warfare, dealing damage and
destruction in scale previously unimaginable and possibly paving way to new forms of warfare
complimented by new ideologies and advent of postmodernity. To add to this, the patriotic and
pastoral depiction of courage and brave soon took a turn after and during the ... Show more content on

It is written in alternating seven line stanzas (rhyme scheme: ABABBCC) and eight line stanzas in a
ballad format (rhyme scheme: ABCBDEFE). The poem achieves extends itself not only to the war of
the contemporary times but also move beyond to prophesise that the future of warfare will bring forth
only death and misery. The poem is contextualised in the episode of Iliad where Achilles shield has
been taken by Patroclus to battlefield where he get slain and the shield taken away by Hector. Due to
this, Thetis, the mother to Achilles and a Goddess requests Hephaestus to craft a new shield for her
son Achilles. The poem depicts how Thetis loves her son and wishes all boon for Achilles and the
world which comes in stark contrast with what Hephaestus engraves on the shield. The second stanza
pictures a sky like lead depicting;
This is very symbolic of the two world wars which saw millions of life sacrificed in warfare and war
crimes. Moreover, the unintelligible multitude is unable to see through the banality of warfare, that all
the killing is sooner or later leading to the doom of mankind. Auden also talks about the alienation of
oneself from the causes and consequences of such mindless action which

Difference Between Healthcare And The Military Draft
My vision for America is to have a country that fulfills its title as the land of the free. We need more
freedom for our future and for our safety. This can be done by liberating more contained liberties and
by removing those that imprison our freedom. The two main issues that follow this are healthcare and
the military draft. The first main issue that impedes on our freedom is healthcare. It is our right and
freedom to receive quality healthcare at no cost. Some people cannot receive the care they need and
deserve because they cannot afford the insurance or the cost of the medical bills. Cancer patients do
not receive treatment, hospital patients go into crippling debt because they cannot afford their hospital

Examples Of Equality In The Great Debaters
Equality is the concept in which everybody is defined to be treated the same way. Of course humans
today are still finding a way to get its definition correctly. For decades, equality was not only about
blacks, white, and Asians, but rather, the women and men. In the film, The Great Debaters, its central
claim is equality. The movie is not only a common metaphorical situation all Africans had to face
during 1930s, but also anybody that was different from white, such as Asian people in general. First

John Locke And The State Of Nature
John Locke gives this very well thought out way of explaining how people are born with the right to
take ownership of the fruits of the earth. Everyone comes to having a right to all the fruits of the earth
because we are all born equal. That being said, everyone owns only their own person, and we are to be
considered as property. Therefore if we own our own person and everything that we entail to be, we
also would own our own labor and work of our hands. What makes property our own is when we
work with the state of nature and everything that has been provided from God through the state of
nature. We do not earn the right to ownership simply because we do more work than someone else, but
because through our work we have mixed the state of nature with ourselves making it part of our
property. However as there are rights to the property, there are also limitations based on how much we
can use or own. As a community living together in the state of nature we must leave a fair and equally
prosperous amount to our fellow people. If this limitation is not in place some people would not ever
have the opportunity to own property because the strongest and the smartest would be able to tend to
the land better than them. Another limitation placed on this theory is that you only have the right to
own what you can tend to. This means that if you own property that you cannot properly tend to and
some of the land becomes unfertile you have taken property that is not beneficial to you or

Adultism Essay
When I first saw what the topic was for this week s writing assignment, I was unaware what adultism
was. I thought adultism was the same as ageism, so it was confusing to me. When I was looking up
what adultism is, I did not know that it was discrimination against younger people. When I was a
child, I can imagine a time where I did notice that my thoughts, feelings, rights, experiences were not
given priority, in deference of the adults in the room. I mean when I younger adults would always say
to me is you re only a kid, you would never understand . At family gatherings, my aunts and uncles
would never include me in the conservations, they would just talk over me. One example that stood
out to me the most was when my family would celebrate thanksgivings, myself and all the kids were
not allowed to sit in the same room as the adults. We would have to sit in another room and sit at the
kids table to eat our dinner on thanksgivings. As I got older I began to become mad at the fact that I

And the Earth Did Not Devour Them by Tomas Rivera
...And the Earth Did Not Devour Him is not a story of one character, but rather of a people. Rivera,
much like in the Actos of El Teatro Campesino, basically uses a stock character. Although each story
seemingly gives more detail and specificity to the character, it can also be interpreted as doing the
exact opposite. In telling of the life of one, Rivera in turn reveals the lives of many. Even though
specific details of each of their lives were obviously different, the core issues still remained; Chicanos
needed change and they needed it immediately. One of the most noticeable techniques Rivera uses
within his novel is the constant changing of the point of view. The novel is centered on an unnamed
male protagonist, however, throughout the story the point of view ranges from that of a mother
praying for her son unwillingly fighting in Vietnam to that of an omniscient narrator, capable of
entering anyone s heads. This often times seemed to be very random and even abrupt. However, it was
through the sporadic sprinklings of changes in point of views that Rivera was able to not only
showcase cultural struggles of the time, but also call for social change as well as reveal the confusion
and uncertainty of the people themselves. First and foremost, this novel is about Chicano people and
the struggles they endured. While each small passage can be viewed as the progression of the
unknown male protagonist, it also gives a multitude of other views as well. Middle aged male

outcome for the community as a whole. This has allowed some communities to gain the police trust
making it a part of the solution. However, a regional police force which would include different
participants from all communities could be useful during certain cases. For example, a drug dealer is

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Lifi
Introduction:
Modern age is the age of technology and in this era data communication has become pervasive in
every field of life. It has changed the way we live. Advancements in technology made the
communication more efficient, by carrying more and faster signals. The transmission media plays an
important role in efficient communication and the technologies used for transmission advanced from
wired to wireless.
LiFi is one such advanced wireless communication technology which uses LED s as a medium of data

infrastructure and its maintenance than on the data transmission, e.g lot of energy is used to cool down

Limitations of lifi
1. The main disadvantage of lifi is that the light can t pass through objects, so if there is any object or
any wall in between sender and receiver the signal will break at once.
2. Interference from external sources of light like sunlight, bulbs, and opaque materials will cause
disturbance in the transmission of light.
3. Wifi and radio frequency will be still needed in the remote areas where tree and wall will act as

4. VLC system has high initial installation cost ,but once it is implemented at large scale the cost can

A Brief Note On Mexico s Agricultural Sector
Mexico s agricultural sector is renown in the international community for a myriad of goods that it
produces. From the cultivation of crops, sustainable soils, land usage and irrigation systems, its rich
land has helped Mexico s economy prosper in the 21st century. This feat is largely due to the country s
production and exportation of maize, one of their largest crops. However, in recent times Mexico s
agriculture sector has been affected by the vices of climate change and greenhouse emission gases
amongst other natural phenomenons. For the purpose of this paper the change of climatic patterns in
areas of temperature, precipitation and intensity will be discussed, as well as its correlation to climate
change and current weather trends, which have created unsustainable environments for maize to grow.
Historically, Mexico s agriculture sector has followed a traditional style of crop production focused on
small scale farming. According to Luc Dendooven of the Center for Research and Advanced Studies at
the National Polytechnic Institute of Mexico, traditional agriculture refer to the widely used
cultivation techniques that consist of low N fertilizer application rates, no or little irrigation, removal
of crop residue for animal feed or fuel, and little or no use of herbicides and pesticides (237). The
Mexican agricultural sector adapted this concept early on by utilizing basic natural resources such as
soil enrichment and rainfall. Such practice has been supported by author

Television Have A Negative Effect On Society
The Negative Effects
Television has become a member of almost every single family on our planet. And not just an ordinary
member, but a very important one, because the time spent next to it exceeds the amount of time spent
together with any other family member. You do not have to apply any efforts to talk or listen to
complaints while communicating with it. It is so simple that it has become an integral part of the
culture of every family. It is the only time, when a person can forget about all the family troubles and
the failures of the day. The sofa opposite the TV set has become the place of reconciliation and
spiritual unity of the family. And instead of playing together and having emotional talks people prefer
to watch an episode from a thriller. It is senseless to deny the all embracing negative effect the
existence of television has brought to our lives. But to make our point of view ultimately convincing
we will introduce to your attention certain facts that people do not want to accept and often try to
justify. The base of the tomorrow s society are children today. And on the way they develop depends
how are world is going to look like tomorrow. The television negative effect facts that are well known
to every single parent, but are ignored by them in order to put the responsibility for bringing up kids

society and has become part of our life s simply what he calls the Iron Cage

variety and diversity of consumer practices in different regions and parts of the world and the various
uses to which consumers can put McDonaldization, using its products and procedures to serve their
own needs. There are many ways Mcdonaldization can be resisted in: social institution, education, the
economy, family, as well as religion and military that our society can reverse the effects on the way we
live. Take for instance the schools and classrooms across the world. In Virginia Beach the school

Internal Conflict In The Hunger Games
Katniss Internal Conflicts
In life there always seems to be some sort of violence and there always seems to be a good and a bad
side. Directed by Gary Ross, The Hunger Games is a movie about 24 tributes fighting to the death for
the Hunger Games crown and freedom from ever having to physically fight in the arena again. It is a
game of violence, ferocity, and blood, and only one tribute can win. Even though stories often have a
Battle between Good and Evil, it is Katniss s internal conflict confronting her own good and evil that
portrays humanity with a longing for destruction, violent inclination, and sense of separation. When
one loves a person or something dearly, then they have the tendency to do almost anything they can to
protect and save them from whatever harm they come across. Katniss volunteered for the games
knowing she was saving her sister from a terrible fate. She made a promise that she would try her best
to win the Hunger Games, but her confidence in her own ability to kill another person was minimal.
She did not want to get any blood on her hands but knew that in order to win she would be forced to.
Crispin Sartwell recognized situations like these when he said, your goodness, like mine, has little to
do with who you are and everything to do with the social conditions you find yourself in (Sartwell).
The circumstance Katniss found herself in was full of violence, pain, and ruthlessness which further
contributed to the tainting of her humanity

The Life Of Joan Of Arc
Since God had commanded it, it was necessary that I do it. Since God commanded it, even if I had a
hundred fathers and mothers, even if I had been a King s daughter, I would have gone nevertheless.
(Joan of Arc) Joan of Arc once said after she had gotten the call to follow God. Joan of Arc was and
still is an inspiration to everyone. By her early life she is recodnized, end of life, and by how she
influences the world today. Joan of Arc was a great leader and woman. Jeanne d Arc, or Joan of Arc in
English, was born in 1412 in Domrémy, France while they were at war with England. Of a poor
farmer named Jacques d Arc she was the daughter and her mother Isabelle or Romée. Her mother
taught her how to work at home and on the farm. About God and the Catholic Church she only ever
learned. When she hit the age of thirteen, she started hearing voices and having visions. In a few of her
visions were Saint Michael and Saint Catherine. To help fight for France against the English she
believed that they were all telling her. At sixteen years of age, she was forced into a marriage by her
father after taking a vow of chastity, so she went to the court and they said that she would not be
compelled to marry. Joan of Arc was an extremely stubborn and strong willed woman from an early
age who would do what she thought was right and what needed to be done. (Joan of Arc) In the late
spring of 1428 Joan of Arc went off to fight in the war. The virgin who was destined to save France,

Stories Behind Three Names Essay
Thirty Stories Behind Three Names
My name has been around for twenty years. Yeah sure, each part of my name has been around for who
knows how long, but when you put them all together it becomes an original and only been around for
the twenty years that I have been here. Each part has its own story about how I got the name that I did.
My mom, my dad, and my grandma all had something to do with it. All the parts of my name, and
how I got them has helped shape me into who I am and perked am interest in how others got their
names.
In 1997, my name was unique and not very popular. Now, if you put me in a classroom with twenty
people, there is at least one other person with my name. The Social Security Administration ranked
Madison as the second ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Stereotypes of my first name are fairly interesting. Sometimes I m a boy, but usually Madison is
negatively stereotyped. Madison is snooty and intimidating. The name of the rich, mean, rude girl,
who is always the antagonist of the movie is named Madison pretty often. If I have an interview or am
getting recognized for something, I stick to Madison because it is a more professional name than my
nickname Maddie. Maddie is a more southern and inviting name. When I was a server at Cracker
Barrel I got twice as many tips because Maddie was on my apron instead of Madison. Maddie isn t an
intimidating name. It s actually friendly. Maddie was a nickname given to me by my grandpa when I
was little. He said that I was too much of a tom boy on the farm to be called such a girly name like
Madison. The name stuck. Everyone calls me Maddie instead of Madison including myself. My mom
is the only person other than an occasional teacher who actually calls me Madison. Mom says, I would
have named you Maddie if that s what I wanted to call you. I hear my mom say this phrase at least
once a month. I like both of the names I was given. I can choose who I want to be or what first
impression I want to give just by choosing what name I introduce myself

Why Should Not Be Placed On The World Heritage
The World Heritage Committee decides whether a site should or should not be placed on the World
Heritage list, designated, or postponed. The decision is based upon guidance from the Advisory
Bodies. The committee then approves a Statement of Outstanding Universal Value for the site. This
statement consists of their resolution that the site has Outstanding Universal Value. The declaration is
also the foundation for any management and fortification the site may need in the future. If the site is
not to be inscribed onto the World Heritage List, the only way redetermination may take place is under
extraordinary situations. These conditions can include new scientific discoveries or information,
otherwise if differing criteria that was ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Any information that is needed by the Advisory Bodies must be requested by January 31 (year 2).
Evaluations and recommendations from the Advisory Bodies will be received by the Secretariat six
weeks before the World Heritage Committee meets (year 2). The Secretariat then will transfer the
information to the state party, and the World Heritage Committee. Fourteen days before the World
Heritage Committee meets the state party needs to send any errors in the Advisory Bodies
recommendations or evaluations. The World Heritage Committee s annual session takes place in either
June or July (year 2). Immediately following this session, either the site is inscribed, referred, or
deferred (World Heritage Center, 2013:43 45). Just as a site can be inscribed on the World Heritage
List, a site can be removed. The process for deletion from the list can include loss of attributes that
enabled the site onto the list, if these features are threatened, or if measures by the state party have not
happened. The World Heritage Committee will explore all information as to the deterioration of a site.
A vote requires two thirds of the members to agree to delete a location from the World Heritage List.
The committee then notifies the public, and publication of this modification will take place (World
Heritage Center, 2013:53 54). Germany s Dresden Elbe Valley and the Arabian Oryx Sanctuary in
Oman have both been removed from the World Heritage List

  • 2. Rooney Mara s Model Of Conventional Western Sexuality The model, Rooney Mara, is depicted in this image in a very traditionally feminine fashion. However, along with being traditionally feminine, she also appears to uphold euro centric beauty standards, as her skin is very pale, her face possesses symmetry, high cheekbones, a heart shape overall and double eyelids. These features are very much idealized in Western culture, and even other parts of the world where a monolid is more common and so surgery is required to obtain a double eyelid and darker skinned people will choose to bleach their skin to achieve their idealised whiteness. Her makeup is done to enhance features like her cheekbones which have been contoured to highlight their definition, and her lips are red and full which is commonly associated with a sexual appeal, in that men often associate red lips with thoughts of sex or the vagina specifically, consciously or subconsciously. The sexual appeal is also strongly blanketed with the undertones of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In terms of conventional western femininity, the model has been groomed and presented to us as the epitome of expected femininity, a standard that women should aspire to become and a guideline for what a man should look for in a woman. Altogether, her appearance has time and thought out into it, which is often a pushed rule onto women in that their appearance becomes their most important aspect. Also, the lack of space the model takes is indicative of the dainty stereotype that women are small and unable to complete most tasks without help, this also presents a toxic guideline for men; that they are expected to take care of a woman and that she is helpless instead of equal division between tasks, careers and daily functioning. The strength of the image and its portrayal of femininity is backed up by the near complete lack of masculine traits being ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Men, women and children are trafficked within their own countries and across international borders. More than one person is smuggled across a border every minute which is the equivalent to ten jumbo jets every single day. And the trade earns twice as much as the Coca Cola brand. (STOP THE TRAFFIK 2014) According to estimates, more than 700,000 people are trafficked every year for the purposes of sexual exploitation and forced labour. Although human trafficking is the fastest growing process by which a person is enslaved, it is also the fastest growing international crime and one of the largest growing incomes for organised crime. It is estimated that at least 12.3 million people are victims of forced labour worldwide. Of these 2.4 million are as a result of human trafficking. Consequently it 1.2 million children are trafficked every year. (STOP THE TRAFFIK 2014) Six hundred thousand to eight hundred thousand men, women and children are trafficked across international borders each year. Approximately eighty percent are women and children and up to half of them are minors. Predominantly the vast majority of trafficked people come from the poorest countries and the poorest strata of the national people. Human trafficking is the second largest source of illegal income, being surpassed by drugs trafficking. Some trafficking groups have been reported to be switching their cargo from drugs to human beings, in a search of high profits at a lower risk. (STOP THE TRAFFIK 2014) Trafficking affects every continent and most countries. Every country is affected by human trafficking whether they are an origin country in which people are trafficked from, a transit country where people are trafficked through or a destination where people are trafficked to. • 4. Human Cells And The Human Body Kidneys are one of the most essential organs in a human body which are crucial for blood filtration, toxins, and waste removal and maintaining and regulating the body s pH. The researchers created kidney structures from induced pluripotent stem cells (iPS) called organoids which have the function and structural organization of a human fetal kidney in the first trimester. This study used the results of a previous study where human embryonic stem cells were differentiated towards a renal lineage. As a result, the progenitors for both collecting ducts and nephrons were generated from iPS. In that study, the researchers found out that although both nephrons and collecting ducts originate from the intermediate mesoderm layer, they develop at a different specific time and area from the mesoderm layer. The intermediate mesoderm layer is a germ layer arising from the mesoderm, and it is important in the development of kidneys, reproductive system, and lower urinary tract of the embryo. Thus, the scientists exploited this temporospatial origin difference, and they identified the regulating mechanism behind what caused the induction of collecting duct versus other kidney progenitors like the nephrons for instance. As a result of this finding, kidney organoids were formed which were segmented into distal and proximal tubules, loops of Henle, glomeruli, and podocytes which establish a vascularization network. This study is important in near future because it can be used as a model for ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Ivan s real punishment is to wash the office floor of the headquarters and rushes to eat where he meets Fetyukov. Fetyukov is a colleague of Shukhoy and he saved him from harsh punishment. • 6. Protein Synthesis Lab Report Scientists found out that the formation of proteins (polypeptide chains) are dictated by the expression of DNA. The DNA dictates the types of proteins that will be formed by making the sequence of nitrogen containing bases. Each three base sequence has an equivalent code for the amino acid that will make up the formation of protein (polypeptide). For example; the sequence of the three bases CCA is a code for using the amino acid Proline (Pro), CTT is for the amino acid Leucine (Leu), TCT is the code for the amino acid Serine (Ser), and so on. After coding, each of these amino acids will be used to form long chains of amino acids called polypeptide chain. These chains will make up the proteins. The synthesis of protein is a very complex process. The two major steps in protein synthesis are (I) Transcription and (II) Translation. These are the process in the synthesis of protein from the information expressed by genes. The figure below illustrates the synthesis of proteins in a cell. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Transcription. In this process, the information from the DNA sequence is copied to a complementary RNA sequence. The type of RNA that is involved in this process is the messenger RNA (mRNA). During a transcription process, when a sequence of DNA is expressed, one of the two DNA strands is copied into the mRNA based on the base pairing rules. For example, in base pairing in DNA, Adenine (A) is paired with Thymine (T), and Cytosine (C) is paired with Guanine (G. But when it comes to base pairing rules in RNA, Adenine (A) is paired with Uracil (U) instead of Thymine (T), and Cytosine(C) is paired with Guanine (G). Scientists, doctors, and other experimenters do physical and mental tests on animals in search of answers. Over time the horrible practices that were, and still are, happening to these animals on a daily bases were slowly opened to the public and it seems like no one wanted to believe it. Not many higher mammals are used, making this okay in their eyes. Their biggest support for how they feel on this topic are facts that make animal testing look ethical and not as bad, just how the following fact states. The human population of the United States eats about 9 billion chickens each year or more than 340 chickens for each animal used in research. (listland). This quote shows not many of our animals are being tested on even though 26 million may seem like a large number. In reality, though, we are eating more than we are testing on and the little ones we are testing on won t make any difference any way, they can reproduce just fine. Many people have argued over this fact, but a question always pops up and never seems to be solved. Why is it okay for even the little number of animals to be tested on? The small animals such as birds, fish, and mice have a right to live their lives and just because they re small it doesn t lessen their importance or tell whether it is okay for them to be tested ... The religious controversies haunted Paine throughout his life. His personal life ended in divorce and destitution. After barely avoiding debtor s prison in 1774, a mutual friend introduced Paine to Benjamin. This introduction would change the course of Paine s life. Franklin was immediately impressed with Paine and wrote a letter of introduction for him. Paine suffered physical illness on his journey that very nearly killed him, but he managed to survive the trip and arrived in Philadelphia September of 1774. After this new start, Paine began his career of publishing articles and pamphlets in the colonies. His first published essay was African Slavery in America. This article argued that slavery was unjust and inhumane. Paine also wrote and co edited the Pennsylvania Magazine. He used this format to express new ideas and learn about his audience. In January of 1776, Paine published Common Sense, which would unite his fellow colonists on a path to either freedom or high treason. Paine continued to publish throughout the ensuing revolution. He published a series of essays titled the American Crisis Papers. These sixteen papers flamed the embers kindled by Common Sense; they urged the colonists to fight against their perpetual enslavement by Great Britain. • 14. Analysis Of Walt Whitman s Crossing Brooklyn Ferry The American Dream establishes a journey to achieve a goal in order to start a new life. In Crossing Brooklyn Ferry by Walt Whitman, Walt Whitman illustrates the arrival to endorse a connection with the American future. Therefore, Walt Whitman conveys the experience of arrival using images to highlight the steps to reach the American Dream. As a result, the experience of arrival introduces a similar goal people are trying to achieve, which connects one another. Nevertheless, the people arriving are individuals who seek and work to find the American Dream and settle to a new beginning. Thus, to represent the experience of arrival, Walt Whitman uses the symbols of the ferry, the natural surroundings and the city of Brooklyn to convey the celebration of the American Dream. The symbol of the ferry represents a journey to convey the experience of arrival. The ferry represents the arrival to America because it establishes the beginning and end of a journey. When people leave on a ferry to travel to a new destination they initially begin a new chapter in their lives. Therefore, the ferry is a new way to change the perspective of a new world. Cross from shore to shore, countless crowds of passengers! (103) establishes the similarities people have of obtaining the same goal. • 16. Review Of Vampire Bats 1. Vampire bats give blood to unrelated vampire bats for several reasons. Among the reasons are the cost sharing of blood, the benefit of sharing blood and the probability that the bats that were given blood will in turn reciprocate and give blood to other bats at a later date. The cooperative equilibria in blood sharing among bats means that the sharing of blood will occur if the benefits of sharing blood multiplied by the probability that blood sharing will be beneficial in the future is greater than the cost of sharing blood. If a bat shares blood with another bat (even an unrelated bat), the bat that is the recipient is expected to donate blood to other bats at a larger rate than it received at a later time. A donor bat will give blood to a bat that has not had a meal so that this bat can have the opportunity to hunt again, giving an increased chance that it will reciprocate to another bat that has not had a meal, enabling the roost to maintain survival. In the event that a recipient bat does not reciprocate in the future, that bat will not be donated to if it needs it in the future, thus allowing for recipient bats to be donor bats in the future as needed. 2. Origins and academic freedom Freedom of speech and expression has a long history that predates modern international human rights instruments. It is thought that ancient Athens democratic ideology of free speech may have emerged in the late 6th or early 5th century BC.[12] Two of the most cherished values of the Roman Republic were freedom of religion and freedom of speech. In Islamic ethics, freedom of speech was first declared in the Rashidun period by the caliph Umar in the 7th century AD. In the Abbasid Caliphate period, freedom of speech was also declared by al Hashimi (a cousin of Caliph al Ma mun) in a letter to one of the religious opponents he was attempting to convert through reason. • 30. John Locke And The State Of Nature John Locke gives this very well thought out way of explaining how people are born with the right to take ownership of the fruits of the earth. Everyone comes to having a right to all the fruits of the earth because we are all born equal. That being said, everyone owns only their own person, and we are to be considered as property. Therefore if we own our own person and everything that we entail to be, we also would own our own labor and work of our hands. What makes property our own is when we work with the state of nature and everything that has been provided from God through the state of nature. We do not earn the right to ownership simply because we do more work than someone else, but because through our work we have mixed the state of nature with ourselves making it part of our property. However as there are rights to the property, there are also limitations based on how much we can use or own. As a community living together in the state of nature we must leave a fair and equally prosperous amount to our fellow people. If this limitation is not in place some people would not ever have the opportunity to own property because the strongest and the smartest would be able to tend to the land better than them. Another limitation placed on this theory is that you only have the right to own what you can tend to. This means that if you own property that you cannot properly tend to and some of the land becomes unfertile you have taken property that is not beneficial to you or ... • 32. And the Earth Did Not Devour Them by Tomas Rivera ...And the Earth Did Not Devour Him is not a story of one character, but rather of a people. Rivera, much like in the Actos of El Teatro Campesino, basically uses a stock character. Although each story seemingly gives more detail and specificity to the character, it can also be interpreted as doing the exact opposite. In telling of the life of one, Rivera in turn reveals the lives of many. Even though specific details of each of their lives were obviously different, the core issues still remained; Chicanos needed change and they needed it immediately. One of the most noticeable techniques Rivera uses within his novel is the constant changing of the point of view. The novel is centered on an unnamed male protagonist, however, throughout the story the point of view ranges from that of a mother praying for her son unwillingly fighting in Vietnam to that of an omniscient narrator, capable of entering anyone s heads. This often times seemed to be very random and even abrupt. However, it was through the sporadic sprinklings of changes in point of views that Rivera was able to not only showcase cultural struggles of the time, but also call for social change as well as reveal the confusion and uncertainty of the people themselves. First and foremost, this novel is about Chicano people and the struggles they endured. While each small passage can be viewed as the progression of the unknown male protagonist, it also gives a multitude of other views as well. Middle aged male ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

From the cultivation of crops, sustainable soils, land usage and irrigation systems, its rich land has helped Mexico s economy prosper in the 21st century. This feat is largely due to the country s production and exportation of maize, one of their largest crops. However, in recent times Mexico s agriculture sector has been affected by the vices of climate change and greenhouse emission gases amongst other natural phenomenons. For the purpose of this paper the change of climatic patterns in areas of temperature, precipitation and intensity will be discussed, as well as its correlation to climate change and current weather trends, which have created unsustainable environments for maize to grow. Historically, Mexico s agriculture sector has followed a traditional style of crop production focused on small scale farming. According to Luc Dendooven of the Center for Research and Advanced Studies at the National Polytechnic Institute of Mexico, traditional agriculture refer to the widely used cultivation techniques that consist of low N fertilizer application rates, no or little irrigation, removal of crop residue for animal feed or fuel, and little or no use of herbicides and pesticides (237). Directed by Gary Ross, The Hunger Games is a movie about 24 tributes fighting to the death for the Hunger Games crown and freedom from ever having to physically fight in the arena again. It is a game of violence, ferocity, and blood, and only one tribute can win. Even though stories often have a Battle between Good and Evil, it is Katniss s internal conflict confronting her own good and evil that portrays humanity with a longing for destruction, violent inclination, and sense of separation. When one loves a person or something dearly, then they have the tendency to do almost anything they can to protect and save them from whatever harm they come across. Katniss volunteered for the games knowing she was saving her sister from a terrible fate. She made a promise that she would try her best to win the Hunger Games, but her confidence in her own ability to kill another person was minimal. She did not want to get any blood on her hands but knew that in order to win she would be forced to. Crispin Sartwell recognized situations like these when he said, your goodness, like mine, has little to do with who you are and everything to do with the social conditions you find yourself in (Sartwell).
