A simple carburetor can only provide the correct air-fuel ratio at one throttle position. It is incapable of meeting the engine's demands under varying operating conditions like load and speed. To address this, modern carburetors add additional systems like an idling system, auxiliary port system, power enrichment system, and accelerating pump. The purpose of a carburetor is to atomize fuel, mix it with air, and deliver the air-fuel mixture to the engine under different operating conditions.

Fuel Induction Systems
Must deliver proper mixture of air and fuel to be burned efficiently
This preparation is to be carried out over entire engine operating regime.
It should also ensure smooth and reliable operation.
The fuel Induction systems for SI engine are classified
Carburetors.
Throttle body Fuel Injection Systems.
Multi Point Fuel Injection Systems
A carburetor is basically a device for mixing air and fuel in the correct amounts for efficient combustion. The carburetor bolts to the engine intake manifold. The air cleaner fits over the top of the carburetor to trap dust and dirt.
In this unit we will discuss three common types of carburetors. They are
Natural or side draft
Updraft
Downdraft
This carburetor is used where there is little space on top of the engine. The air horizontally into the manifold.
This type is placed low on the engine and use a gravity fed-fuel supply. In other words, the tank is above the carburetor and the fuel falls to it.
The principles of carburetion are presented so you may better understand the inner workings of a carburetor and how the other components of the fuel system function to provide a combustible mixture or air and fuel to the engine cylinders.
Carburetor parts are not expensive as that of fuel injectors, especially EFI, which would give you large savings.
With the use of carburetor you get more air and fuel mixture.
In terms of road test, carburetors have more power and precision.
Carburetors are not restricted by the amount of gas pumped from the fuel tank which means that cylinders may pull more fuel through the carburetor that would lead to denser mixture in the chamber and greater power as well.
At a very low speed, the mixture supplied by a carburetor is so weak that it will not ignite properly and for its enrichment, at such conditions some arrangement in the carburetor is required.
The working of carburetor is affected by changes of atmospheric pressure.
More fuels are consumed since carburetors are heavier than fuel injectors.
More air emissions than fuel injectors.
Maintenance costs of carburetor is higher than with fuel injection system.
MPFi is a fuel injection technique used in gasoline engines.Multi port fuel injection injects fuel into the intake ports of each cylinder's intake valve, rather than at a central point within an intake manifold like in spark plugs.
Single-point or throttle body injection.
Port or multi-point fuel injection.
Sequential fuel injection.
Direct injection
This is the basic principle of working of a MPFI. The power is produced in a petrol engine is by burning the fuel. ... At first, the petrol is allowed to mix with air. It is then ignited in a cylinder called as the combustion chamber
The primary difference between carburetors and fuel injection is that fuel injection atomizes the fuel by forcibly pumping it through a small nozzle under high pressure, while a carburetor relies on suction created by the air accelerated through a tube to draw t
A carburetor performs this function mechanically; relying on differences in air pressure inside the carburetor to regulate fuel flow. EFI (Electronic Fuel Injection) performs this function electronically using computer-controlled fuel injectors to admit pressurized fuel as required by throttle position.

Courier management system project report.pdfKamal Acharya
It is now-a-days very important for the people to send or receive articles like imported furniture, electronic items, gifts, business goods and the like. People depend vastly on different transport systems which mostly use the manual way of receiving and delivering the articles. There is no way to track the articles till they are received and there is no way to let the customer know what happened in transit, once he booked some articles. In such a situation, we need a system which completely computerizes the cargo activities including time to time tracking of the articles sent. This need is fulfilled by Courier Management System software which is online software for the cargo management people that enables them to receive the goods from a source and send them to a required destination and track their status from time to time.

CFD Simulation of By-pass Flow in a HRSG module by R&R Consult.pptxR&R Consult
CFD analysis is incredibly effective at solving mysteries and improving the performance of complex systems!
Here's a great example: At a large natural gas-fired power plant, where they use waste heat to generate steam and energy, they were puzzled that their boiler wasn't producing as much steam as expected.
R&R and Tetra Engineering Group Inc. were asked to solve the issue with reduced steam production.
An inspection had shown that a significant amount of hot flue gas was bypassing the boiler tubes, where the heat was supposed to be transferred.
R&R Consult conducted a CFD analysis, which revealed that 6.3% of the flue gas was bypassing the boiler tubes without transferring heat. The analysis also showed that the flue gas was instead being directed along the sides of the boiler and between the modules that were supposed to capture the heat. This was the cause of the reduced performance.
Based on our results, Tetra Engineering installed covering plates to reduce the bypass flow. This improved the boiler's performance and increased electricity production.
It is always satisfying when we can help solve complex challenges like this. Do your systems also need a check-up or optimization? Give us a call!
Work done in cooperation with James Malloy and David Moelling from Tetra Engineering.

3. A simple carburetor as described suffers from the fact that it
provides the required air-fuel ratio only at one throttle
position.
At all other throttle positions, the mixture is either leaner or
richer depending on whether the throttle is opened less or
more.
4. A simple carburetor is capable to supply a correct air-fuel
mixture to the engine only at a particular load and speed.
In order to meet the engine demand at various operating
conditions, the following additional systems are added to
the simple carburetor.
idling system
auxiliary port system
power enrichment by economizer system
accelerating pump system
choke
Complete Carburetor
6. During starting or idling, engine runs without
load.
The throttle valve remains in closed position.
Engine produces power only to overcome
friction between the parts.
A rich mixture is to be fed to the engine to
sustain combustion.
IDEAL SYSTEM
7. (1) A single jet carburetor can not provide a very rich mixture as required at
the time of starting the engine
(2) It can not provide very rich mixture required for sudden acceleration of
the engine.
(3) For gradually increasing pressure differences over the jet (at higher speed
of the engine), the weight of the petrol discharged from a single jet
increases at a greater rate than does the air supply. Hence, a single jet
carburetor gives a progressively richer mixture as the air speed increases
when set to give a correct mixture at low air speeds.
(4) It can not reduce the quantity of air flow during starting as required in
cold weather conditions.
(5) The automation control of air and fuel according to the required
conditions is not possible.
LIMITATIONS OF SIMPLE
CARBURETTOR
8. In the SI engine a combustible fuel-air mixture
is prepared outside the engine cylinder. The
process of preparing this mixture is called
carburetion.
The carburetor, a device which atomises the
fuel and mixes it with air. The pipe that carries
the prepared mixture to the engine cylinders is
called the intake manifold.
