The Roles Of Taj Sultana In The Pakistan Independence...
Taj Sultana is one of the most important person and has done a lot in the Pakistan Movement
1947. She is one of the female heroic figures of Pakistan who had an important role in the Pakistan
movement in 1947. She worked with Mouhtarma Ms Fatima Jinnah (Quaid e Azam s sister who
was founder of Pakistan) for an independent Muslim state. Taj Sultana was a companion of top
women activists of 1947 PakistanIndependence Movement.
Taj Sultana and Begum Salma Tassaduq Hussain both met each other when they were travelling
from Ambala to Lahore. At that time both told one another about their work for All IndiaMuslim

When an independent Muslim country was announced, there was a lot of savage killing of the
Muslim men at that time and all the Muslim women who were kidnapped or held captive were
sexually abused because of which most of the Muslim women got pregnant. After this, all the
Muslim women denied to go with the team of Women Muslim League Worker of which Taj
Sultana was a major part of. The Muslim women believed that they would not be accepted in
Pakistan because of what happened to them and also as of what happened to their husbands and
family members. But still Taj Sultana and her team of women workers of All India Muslim

The Agenda Setting Function of the Mass Media
Introduction
In 1922, Walter Lippmann suggested the very first idea of agenda setting in his book Public
Opinion , and Bernard Cohen (1963) said The media may not tell us what to think, but they are
stunning successful in telling us what to think about . Those concepts assumed that with the
limited ability and innate curiosity of human beings, most people rely on media institutions to gain
information outside family, neighborhood and workplace. Thus the media organizations have the
priority to choose which information is quality enough to be the most important, which is not, and
the information emphasized by the media could salience transfer to the public.
To verify this concept, McCombs and Shaw conducted the first empirical research, ... Show more

Each part mentioned above interweaving with each other comes into being the net of agenda
setting theory.
This literature review will use three levels of agenda setting effects as entry point to discussion
the core concept of agenda setting theory the prominent transference from media agenda and
public agenda. Five original published researches will be described and analyzed. Although many
parts aforementioned can not be included in those five studies, with the long history and
complicated net of agenda setting theory, three levels of agenda setting could be an appropriate
point cut, just as Guo, Vu and McCombs (2012) suggest: agenda setting has evolved from a focus
on media effects on the public s perception of the most important issues of the day to a theory
elaborating a hierarchy of communication effects, its core is three levels of agenda setting .
Considering of that, the following contents will include (1) the explanation of each level agenda
setting. (2) The effects and limitations of agenda setting theory. (3) The important meaning of five
selected researches. The valuation of agenda setting theory will also be discussed by analyzing
those parts mentioned above.

Abraham Lincoln was a Hypocrite Essay
Abraham Lincoln was a Hypocrite
Abraham Lincoln was always known as a good and honest man. There are many other opinions that
refute this statement. Many theories say that Lincoln was far from good and honest. Throughout his
life he tried to do good then as president he tried to hold a nation together by tactics that could be
looked at as unpleasant. Abraham Lincoln is considered a hero to many, but he could also be
looked at to be a hypocrite and a racist because of his ideas about the Negro race and slave policy
during his time. Abraham Lincoln was born on February 12, 1809 in Harden Country, Kentucky.
From an early age he was known as Abe. Lincoln later moved to Kentucky with his parents.

pag.).
This clearly shows that Lincoln was not out for the Negro but just to preserve the union. He says in
many other debates that he thought the Negro had a physical difference from the white man as well
as an intellectual difference (Lincoln Douglas, n. pag.). Lincoln was considered by many in the
south to be a bigot, a white supremacist who wanted segregation and opposed civil and political
rights for blacks (Oates 21). Stephen B. Oates talks of many of the theories in his book, like that
many southerners concluded that Lincoln was with them in the matters of race (22). Many of
these examples show that Lincoln was a hypocrite of some sorts. He would appeal to the
southerners by making statements that led them to believe that he was against the Negro. Yet he
was writing the emancipation proclamation that was supposed to free all of the slaves. This also
is debatable that the proclamation freed any slaves at all. The emancipation proclamation is
looked at by some as one of the most far reaching pronouncements ever issued in the United States
(Oates 25). Also it is said that the proclamation freed few if any bondsman (Oates 26). Abraham
Lincoln talked of the slave issue at many occasions. He said that his paramount object

Producing Dat Designing Samples
Producing Data : в—Џ Designing Samples : To design a sample one is looking into a population
which is defined as the entire group of individuals that we are using to gather information from.
Within this population we are looking for a sample, which is the random information we gather to
observe from the population. The population is chosen based on what information we are trying to
gather, you can gather information from populations by using a census or sampling methods.
When sampling you are studying part of a population to gather information about it as a whole,
while a census makes effort to get information from every individual in the population. There are

Inference : в—Џ Estimating Confidence : When estimating the accuracy within the guess of your
experiment, you do so by using your margin of error which is showing how accurate you believe
your guess is. A confidence interval equals to your estimate plus or minus your margin of error.
в—Џ Inference for Regression : Statistical inference can bring us to conclusions about a
population through the looking of sample date and probability to show us how reliable our
inferences are. Our confidence interval will more times than not tell us what would occur if
specific intervals were to occur, the larger the confidence interval the more likely the estimate is to
be true. While a determined P value shows us how unlikely the observed outcome is. With these
assumptions we can come to a null hypothesis which states that there is no significant difference
Probability: в—Џ Probability Models : There are various ways of determining probability
outcomes by usually, listing your possible outcomes and determining your probability of each
outcome. A probability model is a description of a random phenomenon that is made up of two

A case study of spinal cord injury

A Case of Spinal Cord Injury
1.Describe the functional anatomy of the spinal cord using the following terms: white matter, gray
matter, tracts, roots and spinal nerves. The spinal cord consists of a superficial White matter and a
deep Gray matter. The white matter consists of myelinated axons, which form nervetracts and the
Gray matter consists of neuron cell bodies, dendrites and axons. The white matter in each half of
the spinal cord is organized into ventral, dorsal and lateral columns. Each column is subdivided
into tracts also called pathways. A collection of axon inside the CNS is called a tract but outside the
CNS it is called a nerve. Spinal nerves arise ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Quadriplegia is paralysis to some degree in all four limbs. In this type of paralysis, the
abdominal and chest muscles can also be affected, resulting in difficulty breathing, coughing, or
clearing the chest. 5.Define the terms dermatome and myotome and explain how each relates to
SCI. Spinal nerves have motor fibers and sensory fibers. The motor fibers innervate certain
muscles, while the sensory fibers innervate certain areas of skin. A skin area innervated by the
sensory fibers of a single nerve root is known as a dermatome. A group of muscles primarily
innervated by the motor fibers of a single nerve root is known as a myotome. Myotomes are
necessary for proper motor functioning; making it possible to bend the knee, straighten the elbow,
flex fingers, and manipulate other muscle groups. Nerve fibers allowing for the sensation of touch
or feeling pain to a corresponding sensory sector of the skin are dermatomes. These nerves
originate from the spine and therefore can be useful in spinal injuries to evaluate the level of
deficit. Pain, lack of sensation, or abnormal functioning of dermatomes can help pinpoint spinal
nerve damage. Each myotome (muscle) and dermatome (region of skin) of the body is supplied
by a particular level or section of the spinal cord and by its corresponding spinal nerve. There are
eight cervical nerves, twelve thoracic nerves, five

Dealing With Cancer
This actually was not the first time that I have seen this movie, but after learning about cancer for
the past few weeks, I saw the film and characters in a different way. Overall, I think the movie is a
good depiction of the emotional stages someone might go through after being diagnosed with
cancer, and I think it also showed the physical affects of cancerpretty well for Adam and his
chemotherapy friends. One thing I liked about the movie was that I developed emotional
connections with the characters. I felt anger at the ex girlfriend for being selfish and heartless, I
felt hopelessness for Adam when the results of the chemotherapy came back ineffective, I felt
love for Kyle when I saw the Dealing With Cancer book with notes and dog eared pages, and I
felt pure joy when Adam came out of surgery and finally got a girlfriend and a life that he seemed
to deserve so badly. One of the themes that stuck out most to me throughout the movie was Adam s
support system, or lack there of for most of the movie. It really made me think about how
important that is for someone going through cancer, but also anyone trying to recover from an
illness or... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I woke up with my mom telling me that my father and sister had gotten in a serious car accident
on their way to school. The car was totaled, and they were alive, but on the way to the hospital. I
felt shock; similar to what I am sure Adam s mother and friend must have felt when they heard
about his cancer. It was a feeling of sadness, concern, anger, and confusion that resulted in a
serious knot in my stomach and throat. As the shock of what happened wears off, especially for
my sister, I can see how important it is for her to be completely surrounded by people who love
her as she tries to process how serious the accident was. And, related to the movie, I could see how
Adam really struggles when his own support system fails

Word count 860 so far
My mom sat beside me as I recovered from surgery. I could tell something serious was being
conveyed. I watched tears begin to stream down her face as she spoke on the phone. My dad
reluctantly informed her of the outcome of Belle s veterinarian appointment.
Belle was introduced to our family in 1994 when a friend of my middle school aged sister needed
someone to rescue an unwanted litter. This was crazy to me because my dad, who had a horrible
memory of wild cats attacking him as a boy under his family farmhouse, hated cats. My mom on
the other hand, loved cats. I never imagined he would allow my young sister to have this pet.
Despite my assumptions, he did.
My mom convinced him the circumstances would only be for a few months. Despite my dad s
hope in this temporary adoption,16 years later, we still had Belle!
Named after a Disney movie s princess, our cat, Belle! was far from princess like. She made
Garfield look compassionate. For instance, she would meow as if she wanted you to pet her, but
as one talked to her and caressed her back, she d pop their hand with her paw.
I noticed after we had her for almost a year, she wasn t fond of me. As I sat talking on the phone
one night I noticed her hunched behind the chair, wiggling her back feet quickly as if she was
about to pounce her prey. The more I inquired of her disposition, the more I was certain she was
about to pounce me. Quickly she came out to attack my leg, walked off to the side, shook

The Louisiana Purchase Analysis
The Louisiana Purchase of 1803 is known as President Thomas Jefferson s greatest feat. However,
this treaty that resulted in the doubling of the size of the United States was not Jefferson s initial
objective. The main concern was France s possession of New Orleans, an important shipping port
to the American economy. Upon the news that American free use of the port has been violated, the
Americans were split into those who would have peaceful negotiations with France like the more
pacifist Jefferson, and those like Jefferson s Federalist rival, Alexander Hamilton, who would rather
be aggressive with foreign nations. To Thomas Jefferson, American control over the continent and
its own economy independent of foreign countries can be achieved... Show more content on

Effects Of Anobolic Steroids Essay
The Effects of Anabolic Steroids
You ve all seen them, the enormously large muscle heads at the gym, the participates of the World

were all unnaturally strong, and looked like gods. You tend to obsess over how beautiful their
bodies are, how strong they are, or how fast they can run. All you can think about is reaching that
level of athletic excellence, and nothing will hold you back. At times like these some people tend
to take the quick fit to get closer to their idols, in the form of steroids. But what individuals tend not

When you think of someone who uses steroids, you typically picture someone who is massive,
and whose muscle mass is very well defined. A picture comes to mind of the giant bodybuilder,
who is so big he can t find any type of clothing that will fit the shapes and curves of his body. His
thigh, arms and chest are much too massive to fit into any type of normal clothing. He has to
rely on a tailor to make clothes that fit the proportions of their body. But at the same time this
physique allows him to squat with his car on his shoulders. The possible growth and
development is amazing. With much less work necessary, the results can be astounding. Athletes
can get bigger, stronger and faster, with less effort than they could put forth before. The limits of
athletes potential with steroids seem to be unbounded. These are the positive aspects to the use
of steroids. One study showed that as much as ten pounds of lean muscle could be gained by a
mature adult using steroids over a year s period. The resulting size and strength increases would
be greatly more easier attained than without use of steroids.(Taylor pg. 45) Also, the type of body
structure that may males are looking for can be easily obtained through the use of steroids. Large

Internet Friendship Impact On Adolescent Relationship
It is commonly understood that friendships are important to one s self esteem and enhances
teenager s overall well being. Is this statement referring to the face to face interaction, or online
connections? According to the article, Do Online Friendships Hurt Adolescent Development, two
sides emerge to discuss a controversial topic that has been a concern of adults in modern times.
Psychologists Lauren Donchi and Susan Moore argue that adolescent males who rate their online
friendships higher than in person friendships are more likely to be lonely and experience low self
esteem. Meanwhile, Professors Patti Valkenburg and Jochen Peter claim that the online connections
adolescents make, truly does enhance their face to face interactions with friends that helps with
their overall psychological well being. This debate will discuss the two arguments made. Can
researchers assume that face to face interactions with others is vital for adolescent s well being?
Or, does it matter if this connection is online or in person?
Donchi and Moore researched what role friendships play in the alleviation of loneliness and
maintenance to develop a higher self esteem in adolescence ages 15 through 21. Both hypothesized
that there is an overall negative psychological effect of adolescent Internet usage. Each assessed
first, the relationships between teenager s social wellbeing and Internet usage. To examine the role
that online versus offline friendships have on feelings of solitude, the UCLA

Lenore In The Raven Essay
According to the evidence given, the Raven is the only possible murderer within the group of
suspects. Although, all seem suspicious, the Raven is the only without a witness of his
whereabouts between 9:45 and ten.
Mark Twain was with Griswold in the Green room reading smack about Poe, however, Twain fell
asleep around 9:45, which covers for Twain. After Twain fell asleep, what happened to Griswold?
Well, not only Annabel Lee but Lenore too, saw Griswold in the hall while Lenore and Annabel
and Lenore were fighting. This covers for all three of them. Dupin was watched by Person while he
slept at the same time. Montresor was with Annabel in the purple room until 9:45 when she left,
and if Montresor had committed the murder, somebody would have saw him in the hallway. The
Red Death was in the white room and he s his own alibi because Poe doesn t show signs of the Red

The Raven claims he was in the Violet Room between 9:45 and ten, however, if you look at the
picture of the mansion you notice that the Violet room and the Black Room are the only two

kill Poe in just a matter of 15 minutes. This already incriminates the Raven as the murderer so
we are left with the question of what the murder weapon was. The only three possible weapons
are the bust of pallas, the eye dropper, and the cloth. However, we know automatically it wasn t
the cloth. If the cloth is the same cloth Lenore gave The Red Death to cough into, not only
would Poe show signs of the Red Death but the murderer would have been found dead as well.
As for the eyedropper, it could have been used to intoxicate Poe, with poison. But after finding the
vile of poison in Annabel Lee s room completely sealed, it s safe to say that the eye dropper was
most definitely not the murder weapon. This leaves us with the bust of

The Lone Ranger And Tonto Fistfight In Heaven, And The...
In Battle Royal , The Lone Ranger and Tonto Fistfight in Heaven , and The Things They Carried
, all three authors focus on the actions of the lead characters, and how the past reflects on their
behavior and decisions in the present. These three stories have several things in common: The
protagonists are haunted by someone or something, which causes their struggle with their self
identity. To be specific, the main characters are constantly troubled by a close one that they lost,
and also by personal events, which then results in them being confused and lost on who they
should be and how they should behave in society. Battle Royal by Ralph Ellison talks about a
young, ginger colored man, who feels contradicted on how he should act in a society where
people of color are still oppressed, and at the same time where the word equality is a sensitive
expression. The protagonist, who is remained nameless and invisible throughout the narrative, is
the narrator of the whole story and he describes that, He was an odd old guy, my grandfather, and
I am told I take after him (Ellison 1142). This points out that our young protagonist might have
been a modest and timid person, because his grandfather had been the meekest of men (1142).
Just before reaching his last breathe, his grandfather confesses about being a traitor and a spy in
the enemy s country (1142). To the protagonist, It was as though he had not died at all, his words

Schizophrenic Family Study
Schizophrenia can be explained biologically through genetic explanations and through neural
explanations. Genetic explanations establish that schizophrenia is more common in biological
relatives of a person with schizophrenia than a person without. Gotesman (1991) conducted a
family study and found that children with 2 biologically schizophrenic parents had a 46%
concordance rate with the child becoming schizophrenic, a 13% concordance rate if the children
had 1 schizophrenic biological parent and a 9% concordance rate if siblings had schizophrenia. This
shows that individuals more closely related to the person with schizophrenia has a higher risk of
developing schizophrenia therefore showing the influence of genes the disorder. Although a
problem with family studies on schizophrenia are that they lack population validity; small samples
have to be used as larger samples with schizophrenic parents are hard to find and therefore results
can t be extrapolated to the general public. In addition, in Gotesman s study, the concordance rates
for children with 2 schizophrenic parents are below 50%, it suggests that there s no direct genetic
link to the disorder suggesting nurture may hold more influence in development.... Show more

Studies have begun to examine the use of Netflix as a procrastination method, even as a form of
sleep procrastination (Friedmann, 2016).
I used to find myself saying that I ll go to bed at ten, but by the time I get home from work it s
already past nine. Then, I ll choose watching a episode on Netflix over starting my homework,
then next thing I know its already almost midnight, and I still hadn t touched my homework. I
used to just keep pushing sleep further and further back, so I could sneak in a couple more

Since online TV was introduced, many peoples watching habits have changed. Instead of waiting
until the next episode came out a week later, people can simply just hit the next episode button

myself included, but since I have gotten Netflix back, I have learned manage my time and set my

The Influence Of The Minoan Civilization
The Minoan civilization formed on the island of Crete during the middle of the Bronze Age. During

services. Logistics services that may include anything throughout an organization that involves
management of the way resources are moved to areas where they are required or needed. Some
would say the term, third party logistics, come from the military. In the business world, third
party logistics con somewhat have a broader meaning. Meaning that it can be associated with
service contracts that involve shipping or storing of items. Third party logistics provide services
that may be a single service such as warehouse storage or transportation related, but it can also
provide a system wide bundle of services that have the capability of managing a company s entire
supply chain. Photo provided by Robinson (2013).

Jack London To Build A Fire Analysis
Fire burns red hot, it s a source of warmth and in some cases comfort. In the story To Build a Fire
by Jack London, fire brings new feelings to a numb man every time he makes one. The man
starts out calm and uncaring to his surroundings and the cold, but be the time of the last fire he
built, he was panicking and distraught. As the fire thawed out the man s fingers and toes it also
thawed out his heart and made the man feel more than he ever wanted to. At the beginning of
the man s journey before he made a fire, he was undeterred by the cold, But all this the
mysterious, far reaching hairline trail, the absence of sub from the sky, the tremendous cold, and
the strangeness and weirdness of it all made no impression on the man (London 302). The man
was just as cold on the inside as he was on the outside. He kept his mind clear by staying focused
and observant, Empty as the man s mind was of thoughts, he was keenly observant, and he noticed
the changes in the creeks, the curves and bends and timber jams, and always he sharply noted
where he placed his feet (London 304). By staying focused and observant the man did not have time
to think about the dangerous of his journey.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He stamped up and down until the stinging returned into the feet (London 305). This was the
first sign of distress and panic the man showed, it was also the first time he was building a fire.
Once the fire was built the man had time to relax and eat his lunch he was not as uncomfortable
as in the beginning of his quest, When the man had finished, he filled his pipe and took his
comfortable time over a smoke (London 305). The first fire brought on the first flame of panic and
the flame glowed inside until the other fires were

A Lexical Pragmatic Analysis of Proverbs in Femi...
This essay is a pragmatic reading of moral and socio political decadence in Femi Osofisan s
Midnight Hotel. It does this by analyzing ten out of twenty five proverbs deployed in the text. In
analyzing the proverbs, this essay observes that each has at least an ad hoc constituent which
requires semantic modulation to get at the meanings of the proverbs. This modulation is not
arbitrary, but contextually negotiated until the reader reaches his optimal relevance.
Wilson and Carston argue that metaphors are cases of ad hoc constructions (7), for instance,
when a speaker says, The boy is a lion . While a literary scholar would see this as metaphorical,
Wilson and Carston believe that the above sentence is a case of the use of an ad hoc ... Show more

One of such is with Ossie Onuorah Enekwe where he says that:
To get desperately close to the spectator, to each and every one I have trapped in the darkness or
half light, to penetrate very close and intimate, like a knife in the ribs. I want to make that spectator
happy but uncomfortable. I want to turn him open, guts and all, spice him, cook him in the filthy,
stinking broil of our history. I want him washed inside out, in the naked truth, and then I sew him
back again a different man. (18)
The playwright s closeness to a reader of Midnight Hotel is predicated on the contemporary subject
matters raised in the text. It is true the essence of the play is to effect a social change (as it is with
most literary works), but this change cannot occur if the reader finds it difficult to comprehend
what the text says. Thus this essay lends a hand in that direction, by working out an easy,
systematic, pragmatic format for understanding Osofisan s Midnight Hotel.
Commenting on the playwright s art, Awodiya submits that Osofisan is prolific and theatrically
fertile in creating flexible dramatic forms that have great stage adaptability (15). Awodiya further
notes Osofisan s penchant for invoking traditional African elements of music, dance, songs, mime
and improvisation (15). One of such is proverbs with which he attaches the African sense. Awodiya
acknowledges that

Physics Of String Theory Of Physics
What is string theory?
String theory is a theory that states that the universe is made up of vibrating strings. It is the best
candidate for a quantum theory of gravity. String theory attempts to be a theory of everything.
there are two types of string theories. the first time has strings that are in loops that can break into
open strings and the other has loops that cannot break into open strings. the elementary strings
have a number of excitation modes that are the elementary particles observed. the strings have
tension of 1/(2 p a ) strings are approximately the planck length (smallest possible size of black

However there were also slight errors in the Veneziano s model, it was found to be the first term in

physics.
The standard model of particle physics and why it is not the complete picture
According to the standard model there are matter particles and there are force carrier particles. The
matter particles are the 6 quarks and 6 leptons. The quarks come in three generations. The first
generation is the up quark and the down quark. The second generation is the charm quark and the
strange quark. The third generation is the top quark and the bottom quark. The quarks also have a
property that is called colour. They can be red, blue, green, antired, antiblue or antigreen. The
property colour, does not refer to actual colour. Colour is meaningless on that scale. The quarks
combine to form white.
The six leptons are the electron, the electron neutrino. the muon, the muon neutrino, the tau and the
tau neutrino. The neutrinos have very small mass and are neutral in electric charge, while the other
leptons have a larger mass and have electric charge.
There are also the force carrier particles. There are four forces, the electromagnetic force, the weak
force, the strong force and gravity. For each force there is a boson. The

History of Income Tax
Income tax is a vital source of funds to any government. Money raised by taxing the working
population can be used to fund infrastructure development as well as improving the standard of
living in the country. United Kingdom was the first the country to establish a working income tax
on its civilians in 1799. Initially implemented as a temporary source of income to fund the war to
beat Napoleon, income taxis now an essential source of revenue for the government all over the
world. This report will look at the significance of income taxin the UK since the late 18th century,
through World War 1 and World War 2, and how it has evolved into the tax system, currently in

Even though Sir Robert Peel was not in favour of income tax, he introduced income tax again in
his Budget of 1842 that was considered to be one of the most famous in the 19th century. Peel
taxed people earning above ВЈ150, this resulted in favour of the less wealthy people. Also under
custom duties there were 1200 articles, of which Peel reduced 750 articles on his budget. His
taxation plan was on action for a period of three years. But it was extended for another two years
due to an increase in the national expenditure, and also to help the national railways because the
railway industry had less money. When cheaper imports were available, Corn Laws were created
which is a tariff on imports. This helped the local farmers as they had a competitive advantage,
but Peel repealed the Corn Laws. This made him loose support of his party. William Galdstone and
Benjamin Disraeli had complete authority during the second half of the 19th century. From the
year 1853 to 1866, William Gladstone was elected as the Chancellor of the Exchequer. Gladstone
did not follow Peel s method of income tax policy; instead he wanted to terminate it. He also
believed that government spending should be kept to a minimum level. Gladstone reduced the
income tax exemptions from ВЈ150 to ВЈ100; he thought that if more people pay then there would
be a huge pressure form the public to repeal the tax. But in order to fund the Crimean war,

Essay on Philip Larkin
Philip Larkin A Voice of Pain for This Century
On August 9, 1922, the poet Philip Larkin was born in the town of Coventry in England
(Thwaite, Letters xvii). After graduating St. John s College in Oxford in 1943 with a First Class
degree, he worked at both the University College of Leicester and Queen s College at Belfast
before finally settling down at the University of Hull as Librarian in 1955 (Thwaite, Letters xviii).
That same year, with the publication of his collection The Less Decieved, he began to be
recognized (Thwaite, Introduction xv). His popularity continued to grow thereafter, and over the

As his writing progressed, the revelation of his anguish became more and more explicit while his
emptiness, brought on by the struggle to understand life, continued to deepen.
Larkin began writing poetry at an early age, with heavy influence from Keats, Auden, and,
ultimately, Yeats (1974 (Thwaite, Introduction xviii xix). In 1946, at the age of twenty three, he
began to carry his own voice and write poems that would thereafter strike his characteristic note
(Thwaite, Introduction xv). The 1946 poem And the Wave Sings Because It Is Moving is an
early example of the simple diction and brooding contemplation that came to characterize all of
Larkin s great works. The poem parallels humanity with the together, apart, together movement
of waves, personifying the mortal need to wish ourselves together, / Yet sue for solitude upon
our meetings (l. 3,6 7). The human heart itself is a wave, carrying Laments, tears, wreaths and
rocks in a deluge of anxiety and sorrow (l. 14). Silver tongued like a share, the heart wave

face of death, however, The wave falters and drowns ; for while the heart takes tithes and Finds
marrow to feed and frame us, it cannot invoke death (l. 20 22, 30). As a result, Our hearts must

The Evolutionary Drive Is Sexual Selection
Biological Perspective Certain factors which may contribute to honor killings stem from biology,
specifically from evolutionary drives. One such drive is sexual selection. According to Charles
Darwin, animals including humans might choose their mates based on specific traits which they
find attractive. In human males, appealing physical traits involve height and masculinity.
Psychological characteristics would include sexual aggressiveness. Aggression is therefore more
liable to be passed down to the next generation and to modern males, making them exceedingly
likely to assert their control over women (Goldstein, 2002). Another related drive is that of
paternal certainty. Males of any species generally want to ensure that the offspring of females with
which they have reproduced are, in fact, theirs. The concept of paternal certainty guarantees that
males assure their genetics are passed down. The fact that female fidelity within sexual
relationships would sanction for greater paternal certainty, whereas male fidelity would not do the
same has led to social norms of harsher punishments for female adultery as well as norms of
patriarchal control. Likewise, it elucidates the behavior which is used to control women (Goldstein,
2002). Psychological Factors In addition to biological contributors, it remains likely for
psychological factors to influence the likelihood of committing honor based violence. For instance,
those who commit honor crimes tend to show a specific type of

Earthquakes With Earthquakes
Earthquakes: The Same Effects, but Different Responses
Earthquakes occur as a result of the abrupt release of energy in the Earth s crust that creates a
series of waves known as seismic waves. Earth quakes greatly affect people whether they are living
in economically disadvantaged countries or in economically developed countries. However, the
way each of them responds to the hazard is different.
The tectonic movements in the earth s crust are the initial causes of earthquakes. These
movements bring about forces of tension and pressure, these forces stress up the earth s crust. As
the stresses increase, an imbalance in equilibrium of the rocks which results into breaking of
rocks and displaced. The energy accumulated during the process is released giving raise to waves.
The waves cause vibration of objects they come across with causing a lot of impact on them. This
may include shaking and rapture of the ground. As a result there is damage of infrastructure,
landslides, fires due to damage caused to electric and gas lines.
Volcanic eruptions can also cause earthquakes since they are often very violent and can cause
vibrations to the earth s crust, this can result into rupture of geological faults. This is as a result of

Making Rule Changes For The Safety Of Our Athletes
As Commissioner of the National Quidditch League, I have come to the conclusion to make rule
changes to insure the safety of our athletes. The NQL is one of the country s most popular and
highest revenue leagues. We have a duty to uphold ethical standards to set a good example for our
young fans. In conversations with doctors, players, owners, and some fans, the leagueoffice has
decided to enact some new policy changes. The most important policy changes enacted are that all
players must now where helmets, a new concussionprotocol, and players who intentionally target
opposing players will be at risk for fines and suspension. Some may feel that the character of the
game is being threatened by these new rule changes. However, the safety of our athletes is much
more important. We are confident that these new changes will further demonstrate why the NQL is
one of our country s most popular leagues. Lastly, as a league we can no longer claim to display
integrity if allow the head injuries to continue.
The league office has taken various factors into account, as we considered enacting rule changes
designed to reduce head injuries. First and foremost, we engaged in dialogue about whether any
rule changes would threaten the sole of the sport. We came to the conclusion that these rule changes
would not damage the sport, and would only legitimize it further. Secondly, we talked officials

Australopithecus Afarensis, and Australopithecus Africanus...
The phylogeny started off with Proconsul heseloni as the common ancestor to Sivapithecus indicus,

roughly 15 million years after, suggesting that Sivapithecus indicus directly evolved from Proconsul
heseloni.
From Proconsul heseloni, it was decided that three species evolved from it. These species included

weight ratio, indicating that there was an increase in the overall body weight of the two.
Homo erectus was branched off after H. habilis as the justification for this was from the muzzle
angles of the different species. As H. erectus had a muzzle angle of 107В° it was decided that it
was reasonable to assume that H. erectus evolved from H. habilis. However, in the overall
positioning of the phylogeny, it was placed on a side branch off H. habilis. This reasoning for this
was that if H. erectus was placed on the main evolutionary line to evolve from H. ergaster, the
muzzle angles from H. ergaster, H. erectus, and Homo neaderthalensis would increase then
decrease. It would not be logical to place H. erectus on the main evolutionary line. Further
justification that H. erectus was not a direct ancestor

Postman s Theory Of Identity Theft Essay
One of Postman s theories was based on technological change as a trade off. According to this
theory, Postman believed that there were advantages and disadvantages to every new technology
introduced. There is an imbalance on whether a user s enthusiasm to share news outweigh their
privacy values. Gross and Acquisti s proposition to information sharing states that, users may be
pragmatically publishing personal information because the benefits they expect from public
disclosure surpass its perceived costs (10). To those who have become victims of identity theft
through social media, the disadvantages might be more obvious than to the general public. Social
networks pressurize users for information that consequently causes users to disregard privacy
moralities. Further disadvantages discovered by Social Networking ProCon include government
intrusions, decreasing employee productivity, promoting crimes, and facilitating cyberbullying.
Not all users on social networks will become victims of identity theft, but the statistics are alarming.
Even with 54% of social media profiles targeted for identity theft, 93% of user s still share relevant
information such as their full names and those of families. How social media identity theft typically
occurs is through unconscious sharing. Social networks encourage and often require ... Show more

When prompted by a social networks to enter personal information users can make modifications.
For example, nicknames can replace legal names and employer information excluded. Users should

thieves obtain information through a mutual or shared interest such as friend on a social media

karen horney
To find a mountain path all by oneself gives a greater feeling of strength than to take a path that is
shown . Karen Horney
Personal life:
Karen Horney was born on September 16, 1885 (as Karen Danielson) in a village near Hamburg,
Germany. She felt devoid of love from her parents. Her father preferred her brother Berndt over
her. She was envious of her brother because of beauty and attention as a boy. She was smarter but
she didn t get attention by any means. This led to Horney s depression which would affect the rest
of her life. In 1906, Horney entered medical school. There, she met Oscar Horney and married in
1909. She remained in search of love throughout life and attributed it to her childhood. Oskar and

Her essays were largely ignored until they were collected in Feminine Psychology, (1967). Since
then they have been widely read and cited, and Horney is now recognized as the first great
psychoanalytic feminist. Horney s work on feminine psychology was useful in promoting equality
between the genders.
Theory of neurosis:
Karen Horney developed one of the best known theories of neurosis. Neurosis is a psychic
disturbance brought by fears and defenses against these fears, and by attempts to find
compromise solutions for conflicting tendencies She believed that neurosis resulted from basic
anxiety caused by interpersonal relationships. She defined basic anxiety as the pervasive feeling
of loneliness and helplessness . Horney (1945) suggests that basic anxiety could result from
inconsistencies in parenting, over permissive or extremely strict parenting styles, a lack of
respect for the needs of the child, too little or too much responsibility, lack of reliable warmth and
a lack of a social life. These were all very damaging to a child and promoted the development of
neurosis. Horney s version of psychoanalysis looks at neurosis as a set of defenses against basic
anxiety. In childhood, we try to protect ourselves against basic anxiety in four ways:
1. Being submissive
2. Gaining affection
3. Attaining power
4. Withdrawing.
The 10 neurotic needs as described by Horney are given

Reflection Paper In English
In my initial submission for Lesson 1, I recall being amused by the statement in the introduction of
Navigating English Grammar that humans have always been fascinated by language. Then, and
now, this still seems like an understatement to me. Language is an incredible facet to me and
humans of all ages. To consider that an infant can communicate with few words and more gestures
and then continue to develop the use of language as the number of words increase proves to be such
an interesting phenomenon which has an influence on a human s existence. This influence
permeates throughout language in formal or informal use. In that same lesson, I recall the
childhood influences upon my language development. Being a young Southern woman, a distinct
dialect permeated my childhood environments; from home, school, and small community, the slow,
slang filled conversations enlightened me in the ways of people around me. This information
partnered with the Grammar Quest proved that my own method of verbusage perplexed me. The
instruction received in my local elementary and middle school demonstrated an error in my
grandfather s way of speaking; therefore, my way of speaking did not follow prescriptive rules,
and additional instruction was deemed necessary. With this review and research of prior writings,
the use of verbs and verb forms used in a prescriptive nature proves to be an area of concern for my
own proper use of Standard English.
The following are samples of my own writing; The

Rhetorical Analysis Of Got Milk
Advertisments are on every corner we see. Some we see ocasionally, some we see all the time.
On billbords downtown, on tv, even ads on your pandora app. Although we may not get the
picture, each ad symbolizes a company or trademark. Each advertisement we see persuades or
influences others of some sort. The repetiton or promotion of an ad may catch the audience eye.
We know by heart we if see an famous celebrity with an milk mustache, that s the Got Milk
advertisement. The campagin uses ethos, pathos, and logos to make the audience change their
drinking habits and drink more milk. The Rhianna and Taylor Swift ads catches the most attetion.

they have been credited with great increasing milk sales in California. Starting out with
commericials, the campaign showed actors eating dried foods such as, peanut butter jelly,

By the end of the commercial would be the words Got Milk. The consumption of fluid milk had
steadily declined from 0.96 (1970) cups per person to 0.59 (2011). People had other options to

Gender Wage Gap Essay
The Gender Wage Gap
In 2015, women made ninety cents for every dollar that their male peers earned. The gender wage
gap has been a problem for centuries. In the 1700s, But since the 1980s, it hasn t shifted much
(Brown and Patten). Individuals like former President Obama have attempted to minimize the pay
gap between men and women by passing pieces of legislation, but his attempts have done little to
shift the wage gap. The community of American citizens needs to unite as a whole in order to stop
the gender wage gap because it is unjust, special interest groups need to be made to lobby
government officials into signing pieces of legislation that could help the wage gap decrease. The
gender wage gap has plagued women ever since they ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the article of Institutional Bias Partially Explains the Gender Wage Gap , it states, The
research organization Catalyst, for example, found that among MBA [master of business
administration] grads on a traditional career track, women are even more likely than men to
seek out skill building experiences and training opportunities and to make their achievements
visible by asking for feedback and promotions. Women also reported similar rates of negotiating
as men: 47 percent of women and 52 percent of men had asked for a higher salary during the
hiring process, and 14 percent of women and 15 percent of men had asked for a higher position.
No gap there . The studies conducted shows that women are more likely to seek higher positions
and salary than men. So one can deduce that there is no ambition gap between women and men
who work in the same place. There is bias, even if one is afraid to call it out ( Institutional Bias ).
The gender gap is a problem today, there are individuals who have attempted to reduce the gap.
According to ACLU, in the article Some Things Change with Time , it states, It s hard to believe
it s been seven years since President Obama signed the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act the first piece

The Agenda Setting Function of the Mass Media Introduction In 1922, Walter Lippmann suggested the very first idea of agenda setting in his book Public Opinion , and Bernard Cohen (1963) said The media may not tell us what to think, but they are stunning successful in telling us what to think about . Those concepts assumed that with the limited ability and innate curiosity of human beings, most people rely on media institutions to gain information outside family, neighborhood and workplace. Thus the media organizations have the priority to choose which information is quality enough to be the most important, which is not, and the information emphasized by the media could salience transfer to the public. Many theories say that Lincoln was far from good and honest. Throughout his life he tried to do good then as president he tried to hold a nation together by tactics that could be looked at as unpleasant. Abraham Lincoln is considered a hero to many, but he could also be looked at to be a hypocrite and a racist because of his ideas about the Negro race and slave policy during his time. He says in many other debates that he thought the Negro had a physical difference from the white man as well as an intellectual difference (Lincoln Douglas, n. pag.). Lincoln was considered by many in the south to be a bigot, a white supremacist who wanted segregation and opposed civil and political rights for blacks (Oates 21). Stephen B. Oates talks of many of the theories in his book, like that many southerners concluded that Lincoln was with them in the matters of race (22). Many of these examples show that Lincoln was a hypocrite of some sorts. He would appeal to the southerners by making statements that led them to believe that he was against the Negro. Yet he was writing the emancipation proclamation that was supposed to free all of the slaves. This also is debatable that the proclamation freed any slaves at all. The emancipation proclamation is looked at by some as one of the most far reaching pronouncements ever issued in the United States (Oates 25). Also it is said that the proclamation freed few if any bondsman (Oates 26). Abraham Lincoln talked of the slave issue at many occasions. He said that his paramount object ... A case study of spinal cord injury Instructor: Dr. Daniel Kifle June 16, 2014 A Case of Spinal Cord Injury 1.Describe the functional anatomy of the spinal cord using the following terms: white matter, gray matter, tracts, roots and spinal nerves. The spinal cord consists of a superficial White matter and a deep Gray matter. The white matter consists of myelinated axons, which form nervetracts and the Gray matter consists of neuron cell bodies, dendrites and axons. The white matter in each half of the spinal cord is organized into ventral, dorsal and lateral columns. Each column is subdivided into tracts also called pathways. A collection of axon inside the CNS is called a tract but outside the CNS it is called a nerve. Spinal nerves arise ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Quadriplegia is paralysis to some degree in all four limbs. In this type of paralysis, the abdominal and chest muscles can also be affected, resulting in difficulty breathing, coughing, or clearing the chest. 5.Define the terms dermatome and myotome and explain how each relates to SCI. Spinal nerves have motor fibers and sensory fibers. The motor fibers innervate certain muscles, while the sensory fibers innervate certain areas of skin. A skin area innervated by the sensory fibers of a single nerve root is known as a dermatome. A group of muscles primarily innervated by the motor fibers of a single nerve root is known as a myotome. Myotomes are necessary for proper motor functioning; making it possible to bend the knee, straighten the elbow, flex fingers, and manipulate other muscle groups. Nerve fibers allowing for the sensation of touch or feeling pain to a corresponding sensory sector of the skin are dermatomes. These nerves originate from the spine and therefore can be useful in spinal injuries to evaluate the level of deficit. Pain, lack of sensation, or abnormal functioning of dermatomes can help pinpoint spinal nerve damage. Each myotome (muscle) and dermatome (region of skin) of the body is supplied by a particular level or section of the spinal cord and by its corresponding spinal nerve. Overall, I think the movie is a good depiction of the emotional stages someone might go through after being diagnosed with cancer, and I think it also showed the physical affects of cancerpretty well for Adam and his chemotherapy friends. One thing I liked about the movie was that I developed emotional connections with the characters. I felt anger at the ex girlfriend for being selfish and heartless, I felt hopelessness for Adam when the results of the chemotherapy came back ineffective, I felt love for Kyle when I saw the Dealing With Cancer book with notes and dog eared pages, and I felt pure joy when Adam came out of surgery and finally got a girlfriend and a life that he seemed to deserve so badly. Belle was introduced to our family in 1994 when a friend of my middle school aged sister needed someone to rescue an unwanted litter. This was crazy to me because my dad, who had a horrible memory of wild cats attacking him as a boy under his family farmhouse, hated cats. My mom on the other hand, loved cats. Is this statement referring to the face to face interaction, or online connections? According to the article, Do Online Friendships Hurt Adolescent Development, two sides emerge to discuss a controversial topic that has been a concern of adults in modern times. Psychologists Lauren Donchi and Susan Moore argue that adolescent males who rate their online friendships higher than in person friendships are more likely to be lonely and experience low self esteem. Meanwhile, Professors Patti Valkenburg and Jochen Peter claim that the online connections adolescents make, truly does enhance their face to face interactions with friends that helps with their overall psychological well being. This debate will discuss the two arguments made. Can researchers assume that face to face interactions with others is vital for adolescent s well being? Or, does it matter if this connection is online or in person? Donchi and Moore researched what role friendships play in the alleviation of loneliness and maintenance to develop a higher self esteem in adolescence ages 15 through 21. In Battle Royal , The Lone Ranger and Tonto Fistfight in Heaven , and The Things They Carried , all three authors focus on the actions of the lead characters, and how the past reflects on their behavior and decisions in the present. These three stories have several things in common: The protagonists are haunted by someone or something, which causes their struggle with their self identity. To be specific, the main characters are constantly troubled by a close one that they lost, and also by personal events, which then results in them being confused and lost on who they should be and how they should behave in society. Battle Royal by Ralph Ellison talks about a young, ginger colored man, who feels contradicted on how he should act in a society where people of color are still oppressed, and at the same time where the word equality is a sensitive expression. The protagonist, who is remained nameless and invisible throughout the narrative, is the narrator of the whole story and he describes that, He was an odd old guy, my grandfather, and I am told I take after him (Ellison 1142). This points out that our young protagonist might have been a modest and timid person, because his grandfather had been the meekest of men (1142). Genetic explanations establish that schizophrenia is more common in biological relatives of a person with schizophrenia than a person without. Gotesman (1991) conducted a family study and found that children with 2 biologically schizophrenic parents had a 46% concordance rate with the child becoming schizophrenic, a 13% concordance rate if the children had 1 schizophrenic biological parent and a 9% concordance rate if siblings had schizophrenia. This shows that individuals more closely related to the person with schizophrenia has a higher risk of developing schizophrenia therefore showing the influence of genes the disorder. Although a problem with family studies on schizophrenia are that they lack population validity; small samples have to be used as larger samples with schizophrenic parents are hard to find and therefore results can t be extrapolated to the general public. It does this by analyzing ten out of twenty five proverbs deployed in the text. In analyzing the proverbs, this essay observes that each has at least an ad hoc constituent which requires semantic modulation to get at the meanings of the proverbs. This modulation is not arbitrary, but contextually negotiated until the reader reaches his optimal relevance. Wilson and Carston argue that metaphors are cases of ad hoc constructions (7), for instance, when a speaker says, The boy is a lion . The 1946 poem And the Wave Sings Because It Is Moving is an early example of the simple diction and brooding contemplation that came to characterize all of Larkin s great works. The poem parallels humanity with the together, apart, together movement of waves, personifying the mortal need to wish ourselves together, / Yet sue for solitude upon our meetings (l. 3,6 7). • 34. The Evolutionary Drive Is Sexual Selection Biological Perspective Certain factors which may contribute to honor killings stem from biology, specifically from evolutionary drives. One such drive is sexual selection. According to Charles Darwin, animals including humans might choose their mates based on specific traits which they find attractive. In human males, appealing physical traits involve height and masculinity. Psychological characteristics would include sexual aggressiveness. Aggression is therefore more liable to be passed down to the next generation and to modern males, making them exceedingly likely to assert their control over women (Goldstein, 2002). Another related drive is that of paternal certainty. Males of any species generally want to ensure that the offspring of females with which they have reproduced are, in fact, theirs. The concept of paternal certainty guarantees that males assure their genetics are passed down. The fact that female fidelity within sexual relationships would sanction for greater paternal certainty, whereas male fidelity would not do the same has led to social norms of harsher punishments for female adultery as well as norms of patriarchal control. Likewise, it elucidates the behavior which is used to control women (Goldstein, 2002). Psychological Factors In addition to biological contributors, it remains likely for psychological factors to influence the likelihood of committing honor based violence. The phylogeny started off with Proconsul heseloni as the common ancestor to Sivapithecus indicus, Australopithecus afarensis, and Australopithecus Africanus. The reasoning for this was from the approximated age of Proconsul heseloni of 23 million years ago. This places Sivapithecus indicus roughly 15 million years after, suggesting that Sivapithecus indicus directly evolved from Proconsul heseloni. From Proconsul heseloni, it was decided that three species evolved from it. These species included A. A. afarensis, A. africanus and Sivapithecus indicus. Sivapithecus indicus was branched off the early human evolutionary line as the characteristics from the dentation and skull characteristics differed from that of A. afarensis and A. africanus... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This difference can be used to infer that they lived in different areas of the world as it can be assumed that the diets of the two were unalike, explaining the dissimilarity of the canine size. As it is inferred that the two species lived in different regions of the world, it can be assumed that they co existed at the same time period. Homo habilis followed A. africanus indicating that A. africanus was a direct ancestor of H. habilis. The reasoning for this included the brain weight and body weight of the H. habilis slightly increased from that of A. africanus. As there was a general increase the overall brain to body weight ratio, indicating that there was an increase in the overall body weight of the two. Homo erectus was branched off after H. habilis as the justification for this was from the muzzle angles of the different species. As H. erectus had a muzzle angle of 107В° it was decided that it was reasonable to assume that H. erectus evolved from H. habilis. However, in the overall positioning of the phylogeny, it was placed on a side branch off H. habilis. This reasoning for this was that if H. erectus was placed on the main evolutionary line to evolve from H. ergaster, the muzzle angles from H. ergaster, H. erectus, and Homo neaderthalensis would increase then decrease. It would not be logical to place H. erectus on the main evolutionary line. Further justification that H. erectus was not a direct ancestor ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Gross and Acquisti s proposition to information sharing states that, users may be pragmatically publishing personal information because the benefits they expect from public disclosure surpass its perceived costs (10). To those who have become victims of identity theft through social media, the disadvantages might be more obvious than to the general public. Neurosis is a psychic disturbance brought by fears and defenses against these fears, and by attempts to find compromise solutions for conflicting tendencies She believed that neurosis resulted from basic anxiety caused by interpersonal relationships. She defined basic anxiety as the pervasive feeling of loneliness and helplessness . Horney (1945) suggests that basic anxiety could result from inconsistencies in parenting, over permissive or extremely strict parenting styles, a lack of respect for the needs of the child, too little or too much responsibility, lack of reliable warmth and a lack of a social life. These were all very damaging to a child and promoted the development of neurosis. Horney s version of psychoanalysis looks at neurosis as a set of defenses against basic anxiety. To consider that an infant can communicate with few words and more gestures and then continue to develop the use of language as the number of words increase proves to be such an interesting phenomenon which has an influence on a human s existence. This influence permeates throughout language in formal or informal use. In that same lesson, I recall the childhood influences upon my language development. These safeguards can include protections for better and cheaper services and goods, as well as the protection of firms from unfair (and fair) competition, cleaner water and air, and safer workplaces and products (Litan, 2016, para. 2). In today s information driven business world, it is important that regulation exist to protect consumers and companies from online scams and warranting the privacy of personal information. According to Johnson (2011), e commerce regulation deals broadly with... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In addition, Gantz, and Philpot (2002) annotated the concepts of the law, which include: Providing a comprehensive framework for ensuring the effectiveness of information security controls that support federal operations and assets. Recognition of the highly networked nature of the current federal computing environment while providing effective oversight of information security risks, including management of security efforts throughout the civilian, national security, and law enforcement communities. Providing for the development and maintenance of required minimum controls that are needed to protect federal information and information systems. Providing a mechanism for improved oversight of federal agencies information security programs Acknowledging that commercially developed information security products offer advanced, dynamic, robust, and effective information security solutions. Recognizing that the selection of specific IT security solutions should be the decisions of individual agencies. The Organizational Impact of the Law Within the federal government there exists numerous agencies, and each is responsible with protecting its IT systems from risk factors such as unauthorized access, disruption, modification, or destruction of information assets (Gantz, and Philpot ,2013, p. 9). Gantz and Philpot (2013) writes, each agency must comply with the provisions in FISMA, which entails incorporating information security management with ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Prelab Chemistry Lab Chemistry 310 Tools, Techniques, and Measurement Prelab Part A: Density of liquids and Weighing by Difference Obtain the mass of two dry and empty 125mL or 250mL Erlenmeyer flasks on a milligram balance and then number it. Record the mass in your data table. Get a 10.0 mL pipet and suction bulb then use deionized water to rinse the pipet. Then use the rinsed pipet to add 10.0 mL of deionized water to the flasks weighed previously. Then obtain the mass of the two flasks with the deionized water in them. If the mass of the water is between 9.9 g and 10.1 g then you can continue. If the weight of the water does not go between that range then get two flasks with water that reach that range. Record all trials in data table. Calculate the density ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Then calculate the percent error assuming the theoretical value for the density of water is 1.000g /mL. Density of a Solid: Set up a formula to calculate the thickness of the foil using data from your data table and also the density from the CRC Handbook of Chemistry and Physics. Then calculate the thickness. Volume of a Solid and Density (1): Use the masses obtained from the electronic balance and also the measurements of volume through both your ruler measurements and the displacement method in order to calculate the density of the blocks. The units that should be used for the density is both g /mL and g/cm^3. Record these calculations in the density calculation tables. Volume of a Solid and Density (2): Convert the calculations to where their units are lb/ft^3. Use the density reference values to then identify the unknown solid. Also, choose the value that is nearest to your calculated values in the data table in order to find the percent error in your ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
