2. Reform to The Trinity River
Since the beginning of time, water has played a key role in societies all over the world. The
earliest recorded civilizations have all been found along large river valleys, such as, the Indus
River in India and the Yellow River in China. Water is an essential part of life; it does not just
sustain the life of all human beings around the globe, but also sustains the life of every living thing
known to this Earth. All of the major cities that we know today are surrounded by large river
systems that supply its people with the means to survive in that region. These rivers also link our
different communities together and allow us to prosper, but these rivers are being taken advantage
of. Our once great rivers are falling victim to pollution and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The Trinity River has always acted as a natural barrier dividing northern and southern parts of
Dallas, but this project will connect the two parts of this city that have never had a direct route to
the other. Not only will these bridges join together two parts of Dallas, but it will also help to
ease traffic along the busy highways of this city. The river will also be transformed into an area
where different recreational activities will be held. The West Dallas Lake is long enough that
boating, both competitive and recreational, can be held there for all people. The West Dallas
Lake amphitheater will be an enjoyable place for the whole family to view special events like
the rowing competitions as they unfold on the lake. The many trails and whitewater rafting
courses will also stand as an exciting place for activity for all citizens of the city of Dallas. By
creating all these new features around the Trinity River, Dallas residents will once again be
drawn back down to the river. Citizens will enjoy the river that has given life to their great city
for so many years. One of my fondest memories as a child was the time when my father took me
to the Trinity River for the first time. I thought the river was dirty and a poor example of a river,
but my father

3. The Neolithic Revolution
Lasting Impacts and Legacies of Events and People in Ancient History Section One The
Neolithic Revolution In Neolithic lecture and presentation, the Neolithic advances are described
in detail. The Neolithic period is crucial to later history, and created a lasting impact, because of
the developments made at this time. During the Neolithic period, food production was changed;
agriculture and livestock raising was invented, this secured a stable food supply. These
inventions created the foundation of the food industry as we know it today. Having a steady
supply of food then set into motion the other developments of the era. A stockpile of food meant
that communities could save the food for later, creating a food surplus, and this overabundance
of food allowed for an increase in population. Another result of the food surplus was gaining the
ability to trade with other communities for other raw materials and goods. The majority of
people no longer needed to work as food producers, so specialized craftsman in the communities
evolved and developed. The individuals who remained working as food producers could then
trade with the craftsman for their work or product, and both would benefit from the exchange.
Social classes also emerged from the Neolithic Revolution. The classes were based on wealth and
status; individuals and groups that gained control of a food surplus could gain power in the
community by having control over the distribution of it. This laid the framework for any

Dr. Torrance and Creativity
Dr. Ellis Paul Torrance was a very creative individual whose work with the aging population he
has influenced program offerings at Kansas State University. The objectives of this paper include
discussing Dr. Torrance s background, a reflection of his work in creativity, how his work has
influenced program offerings, and how Dr. Torrance s work could impact our work with aging.
Lastly, I will discuss what I have learned from studying him.
Dr. Ellis Paul Torrance was born in 1915 to a farming family in rural Georgia (Childs, 2013). He
started school late, at age seven due to a learning disability, but through encouragement from
teachers and family, Dr. Torrance became an avid reader and writer, often winning writing... Show

in the counseling bureau where soon after he was transitioned into the role of Dean of Men and a
few years later returned as Director of the Counseling Bureau and professor of psychology (Bert
2002). In 1951, he was appointed Director of Survival Research in the Air Force, and in1957 he
developed a definition of survival creativity, whenever one is faced with a problem for which he
has no practiced or learned solution, some degree of creativity is required (Millar, 1995). During
his time at the Air Force, he wrote 135 research papers with his colleagues on survival and
creativity and began designing creativity tests (Bert, 2002). His research studies continued and he
began to publish books and more research studies(Childs, 2013). As a professor of educational
psychology at the University of Georgia, he invented the Torrance Tests of Creative Thinking
setting the standard for measuring creativity (Bert, 2002). He also developed the Future Problem

10. An Energy Source Is A Universal Objective For All Nations...
The search and need for an energy source is a universal objective for all nations on earth. Human
societies have been built on the consumption of natural resources for energy since the beginning of
human existence. The first source of course came from the burning of wood from trees to produce
fire that has kept humans warm and fed throughout the ages. With the evolution of human
civilization the need for more powerful energy sources have arisen. The industrial revolution of the
early 20th century demanded a new source which could keep up with humanities growing
technologies. Coal, oil, and natural gas now account for the vast majority of nation s sources of
energy, but these resources have only finite supply. Nuclear energy became an important next step
in humanities source for a sustainable energy source. In recent years though nuclear energy has
started to decline in use primarily due to the public s disapproval after such devastating nuclear
disasters such as Chernobyl, Three Mile Island and more recently the Fukushima nuclear accident
in Japan. This decline in nuclear energy is not the case in China today, in fact they are making huge
movements to ramp up their use of nuclear energy. By looking at the history then taking an in depth

extensive leaps in nuclear energy.

Due to Lennie s childlike mind set and George s fatherly role in Lennie s life the dream becomes

Tell me. Please, George. Like you did before. which further emphasises how much of a child he
is due to the fact it makes him calm, happy and almost settled as if he were an infant going to

reassured about their dream. Lennie s relationships with other characters vary and progress
throughout the novella. When Slim, the jerkline skinner, is first introduced to Lennie and
George he is taken aback by the oddness of their relationship with each other. He immediately

parallel, fan, and cone beam systems cite{sidky2008image} cite{vo2014reliable}. Sidky and
Pan cite{sidky2008image} proposed a theoretical framework to show how accurate circular cone
beam CT image reconstruction can be done from reduced data sampling. In data acquisition
phase, they assumed that the estimated projection data is within a specified tolerance of the
available data and the values of voxels are non negative. To observe these constraints, a projection
onto convex sets was considered, and the total variation (TV) gets minimized by steepest descent
with an adaptive step size. They argued that the TV algorithm can resolve low contrast structures
in the presence of high contrast objects even when the projection data sets are limited in angular
range or view number, and when the low contrast object is not at the mid plane of the circular x
ray trajectory. Qi and Chen cite{zhihua2008direct} considered image reconstruction in fan beam
based CT in which the derived formula applies to the real domain. First, inverse Fourier transform
was applied to use the multiplication instead of convolution in Fourier space. Afterward, the range
of calculation was extended to cover redundancy. This method is subject to observing full circle
scan in data acquisition mode.

The Life of A Computer Programmer at Mars Space Flight Facility Career The world as we
know it is constantly adapting to new technology. We are constantly using some form of
technology on a daily basis. However, have you ever thought of what makes these technology
devices to run in the first place? Well, according to several people it is the nerd who makes it
happen, the boring ones who just sit at the computerand do not have any type of social lives.
However, the programmers at the Mars Space Flight Facility reaches out to the community,
creative and drive for innovation. The Moeur Building which is known as the Mars Space Flight

Part A:
Big data is a term to explain large complex data set, and big data is challenging the traditional data
handling method. The big data itself is useless, but after processed and analyzed the big data would

data age.
1. IoT:
1.1. Introduction to IoT Figure 1. In IoT things are able to connect with each other through internet.
The internet of Things (IOT) is an important part of new generation of information technology and
known as an important stage of development information age. (Ashton, 2009). As the name suggest,

1.2. RFID and RFID system Figure 2 RFID tag is widely used in manufacturing and logistic
industry
RFID is a type of automate identification and data capture technology (AIDC), which use wireless
frequency to get the related data from object, and recognize it. (Ashton, 2009). It is not necessary
to make a physical contact between objects in IoT to load data (it allows hundreds of meter to load
data), and the data can be transferred correctly and fast. (Gershenfeld, Raffi, Danny, 2004). RFID
tag can be used at many fields, such as logistic and manufacturing industry to locate and monitor the
materials or product.
In IoT, the RFID system composed of electric tag, reader, and internet, and the RFID system use
electronic tag to identify specific object, and RFID tag would exchange data through wireless
frequency. (Bonsor Wesley, 2014). The reader transmit the host computer command to RFID tag,
and convey the RFID tag s information back to the host computer. (Bonsor Wesley, 2014).
The RFID system can be divided in to three types based on its frequency, which are low
frequency system (30KHz 300KHz), high frequency RFID system (3MHz 30MHz), and
microwave system. (Rouse, 2014). The microwave system is the majorly used in the IoT, which
has a frequency greater than 300MHz and can be used to operate multiple RFID

You are probably wondering how is a singer from a rock band inspiring? Maybe you don t think
he is, but to me, Gerard is very inspiring. Gerard Way never gave up in life, no matter what
problems were thrown at him, and the struggles he had to face. Gerard and some others started a
band, My Chemical Romance, to help cope with their pain. He also never gave up on his dreams,
no matter how hard or difficult.
Gerard Way faced lots of challenges growing up and as an adult. As a teenager Gerard was
bullied and it was very hard for him to handle it. As a teenager he was held at gunpoint execution
style, he struggled a ton with this. Yet somehow he still had a positive attitude saying no matter
how ugly the world gets or how stupid it shows me it is, I always have faith [in it] . On top of all of
that Gerard faced serious drug abuse, depression, and an alcohol addiction. Gerard s grandmother,

25. Gospel Music As A Genre Of Christian Music
Ever think about what the real definition of Gospel music is? Gospel music is a genre of
Christian music. Gospel is the term used for the first four books of the New Testament, describing
the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus. The word gospel means good news which is derived from
the Greek word Оµ бЅђО±ОіОіОО»О№ОїОЅ. Gospel musicserves many purposes such as
aesthetic pleasures and religious purposes and as an entertainment product for the market. Gospel
music consists of a strong harmony and Christian lyrics.
Gospel music became known around the 17t h century and rooted in the black tradition. Hand
clapping and foot stomping are often associated when gospel music is playing. Most of the
singing during that time was a cappella in other words with no music. The first use of the term
Gospel Song was in 1874. Some of the original gospel songs were written and composed by autho
rs such as George Root, William Howard Doane and Fanny Crosby.
In the slavery era many slave owners did not allow slaves to use traditional african instruments ,
sing or play their native music. As a result many of the words and melodies were forgotten and
vanished in North America. A new style of music emerged from this limitation. The church allowed
many slaves to express their feelings through gospel songs. Many slaves were not allowed to attend
but met secretly anyway.
The best part about gospel music tradition was the use of a choir. The church choir members

portion or share of the ownership of a corporation. A share will give the owner of the stock the

any time as long as there is someone willing to buy. A bond, on the other hand, is a fixed interest
financial asset issued by governments, companies, banks, and other large entities. Bonds also are
called funds. Bonds pay the owner a fixed amount a specific date, or on specified dates

who plans to begin assessing various markets for the commencement of exporting its food products,
which it has no experience in.

Although PAD is interested in trading on open account terms by far the riskiest for exporters
(FITT, 2008), presumably for the potential of greater sales, the risks are somewhat difficult to
justify. Specifically, PAD s a niche business offering high end, gourmet products not a commodity
type product attempting to enter a saturated market. As such, while open terms, given their
prevalence, may be necessary in markets where competition is high and entry to them is deemed
strategically significant, PAD likely commands some level of market pull (demand) in most
markets. This suggests that PAD s assumption of the substantial risks associated with open account
terms is somewhat unnecessary and, given its high margins and assumed ability to absorb some
additional costs, it should opt for a greater level of security.
This is especially so for small, perhaps one time customers, with order values of say, under $2,000.
Here, non traditional payment systems such as PayPal or credit card facilities are more appropriate
than the complex and time consuming traditional payment types. Furthermore, these methods
would typically involve payment in advance, providing PAD with a high level of

cohesion where society is flexible, why we aren t at each others throat all the time. The reason
is because it s not in our best interest to do so. We do certain things so in return, we get what we
are looking for. We go to college to get a degree because we think having a degree will get us a high

This becomes a problem for society. Now if we were all like this, then everything would
collapse. Society has it s own reality. Society is sergenourse and we know this because society is
a social fact. Social facts are phenomena that are external to the individual, they are collective and
independent to the individual, and lastly they influence the individual. Social facts are ways of
acting, thinking, and feelings that shapes, structures, and constrain individual social behaviors.
Mark implies that order is imposed on us, either by the economic structure or by the capitalist.
Weber implies order is generalized by management. Now Durkheim implies order is done
because we count on each other. We are dependent on others so we have to regulate our

uses biblical quotes a couple of times as a way to reassure herself that it was God doing this for
a reason. In one excerpt she uses she is talking about her children, asking Joseph why this is
happening to her and her offspring. Unlike Rowlandson s narrative, Byrd uses satire and basically
mocks everything in his narrative, The History of the Dividing Line. Though Byrd s narrative was
mainly of him complaining it did include some useful information such as the fact that the
Colonists had the Native Americans work for them and in result of that the Colonists ended up with
fluxes. Well Byrd is also self absorbed, thinking himself to be of higher intelligence than everyone

Has there been a demise in the middle class? Edward McClelland believes there has been. Could

McClelland makes. Through my life experiences, I believe McClelland has some strong points but
could be wrong in some areas. And I believe where you are located can also makes a difference. In
Edward McClelland s article, RIP, the Middle Class: 1946 2013 , McClelland argues that there has
been a decline in the middle class since the 1980 s. He begins his article remembering times in
the 1970 s, when the middle class was able to live similar to the upper class. He stated I saw the
evidence of prosperity distributed equally among the social classes: speedboats, Corvette
Stingrays, waterbeds, snowmobiles, motorcycles, hunting rifles, RV s, CB radios. This was his
evidence that the middle class was doing well and prospering. He also gave an example of a couple

37. Seventh Circle In Dante s Inferno
Drew Anderson
ELA 12
Dante
In The Inferno by Dante Alighieri, Dante is led down through hell by the ancient poet Virgil. As
he descends through hell he progressively sees people who committed worse and worse crimes.
Because of this we are able to see into the mind of Dante; and therefore, understand his thoughts on
the volatility of the crimes committed. Personally I believe because of Dante being screwed in his
own life plus the many backward thoughts of the time; Dante is much too harsh on humanity and
he sends far too many people to hell.
Dante s first circle is called Limbo. Limbo is just on the cusp of hell. People in Dante s limbo are
not tortured and crying out they are just sighing because they lack hope of a better life. No
tortured wailing rose to greet us here but sounds of sighing rose from every side. (canto IV) Limbo

The seventh circle is for those who were violent. This includes people where violent against
themselves because those violent against themselves denied their human form they are shown as

120) The eighth circle is for people who claimed to be prophets but weren t, people who stole,
people who lie, and people who seduced others. The final circle of hell is for four men, Satan who
betrayed god, Judas who betrayed Christ, and for those who betrayed Caesar.
Dante ranks sins very differently than I would as well. Personally I believe he is much too harsh.
I believe that limbo, heresy, and a portion of the lustful should not even be on the list. Limbo
should be removed because these people did not even have a chance to make it to heaven. Heresy
should be removed because most protestants were indoctrinated into their religion and really never

An example may include polar bears, which live as far away as antarctica, they are being harmed
through changes in their environment that they can t control, they need to change ways of
interaction, and even hunting strategies and hunting difficulty. They are being harmed physically
because hotter temperatures means that the ice will melt, this causes them to change their
hunting strategy from fishing off the surface of the ice, to now swimming and possibly freezing
to death. Melting ice also may destroy/melt their home away, which are usually holes or caves
inside the ice, which means the melting ice will destroy their homes possibly while their in them
causing suffocation. They may also be harmed emotionally through changes in lifestyle, if their is
no ice and just a bunch of water, they need to adapt, and adapt fast. This change may also invite
their close neighbors, the Grizzly Bears, to come and steal their food supply, and also crossbreed,
which if becomes popular enough could cause the polar bear population endangered because
grizzly bears have dominant traits. Given that grizzly bears are superior bears, they will win
fights causing the polar bears to become more conserved as a whole. (hassol, S.J., R. corell, et al.

40. Introduction . In High Acute Settings, Such As Intensive
Introduction
In high acute settings, such as intensive care units essential nursing care such as oral care is very
vital to prevent life threatening complications such as nosocomial acquired, Ventilator Associated
Pneumonia (VAP), and also most patients in intensive care are on oral intubation, and medications
such as anticholinergics, antihypertensives, which may lead to xerostomia (dry mouth). One of the
challenging nosocomial infections is VAP, and a leading cause of mortality in hospital patients in
high acuity settings (Jones, 2007). The development of VAP is occurred due to mechanical
ventilation, longer ICU stays and longer intubation periods, increasing the mortality of ICU patients
to as high as 70 per cent (Jones, 2007). Good ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Which may further lead to prioritising oral care as a less priority for nurses than other aspects of
care (H. Jones et al., 2004). In turn, even the tapes that are used in the fixation of the tube quickly
become heavily contaminated with the bacterium in the existence of salivary secretions and the
hitches associated with cleaning the mouth (Abidia, 2007). So, they have greater susceptibility to
nosocomial acquired infections such as ventilator Associated Pneumonia (VAP) (Zurmehly, 2013).
Patients who are intubated are also forced to keep their mouths open which leads to xerostomia,
caused due to dryness of oral mucosa (Miranda, de Paula, de Castro Piau, Costa, Bezerra, 2016).
Furthermore, patients who may have some medical conditions have oral manifestations such as
diabetes, Crohn s disease, Leukaemia (H. Jones et al., 2004). In order to prevent these life
threatening complications, it is important to prioritise oral care as an essential nursing priority in
high acuity settings by doing appropriate and more frequent oral assessments followed by mouth
care with an evidence based approach.
Oral Assessment
To initiate interventions, patients oral care requirements are to be identified. To process and
evaluate, assessment needs to be performed. Evidence suggested oral assessment should be
performed using a checklist within the 24 hours

41. Exegetical Paper On I Corinthians 7
In I Corinthians 7, Paul declares that abandonment by an unbelieving spouse constitutes grounds
for a valid divorce. Paul clearly identifies this as an expansion of what Jesus has said (Matt. 5:31
32, 19:3 9) for he says, I say, not the Lord. As such, we can conclude that Paul considered his
expansion to be consistent with Jesus s teaching on divorce, even if Jesus himself had not
explicitly taught it (or at least it wasn t recorded). What we see in these two texts is a breakdown
of the marriagecovenant; one spouse (or perhaps both) has decided to no longer be in covenant with
the other either by means of their unfaithful sexual behavior or by abandoning the other (including
circumstances such as abuse). What we can understand from this... Show more content on

As such, when this happens, there are grounds for a permissible divorce, as one spouse has utterly
shattered the marriage covenant with their spouse and God. Now, there is an obvious tension here.
Jesus reveals the spirit of the law within the SOM namely, that marriage was sacred, an echo of
God s covenant love, and now we are talking about permissible reasons for divorce. Paul s point
wasn t that we should seek our reason for a permissible divorce. Rather, Paul insists that we must
not be quick to jump at divorce, trying to find a reason or an excuse to get out. Divorce is
permissible in some situations, but it is rarely required. Divorce is a last resort when one spouse
s heart has been so hardened that they refuse to be before God and with and for their spouse as
echo of God s covenant love. But, what I believe Paul is articulating in this passage is that it is also
wrong to demand one to stay in a marriage that is no long a true marriage as one part has broken
the covenant. So much more to say and clarify, but alas I ve already blown passed 150

him. However, in that city there was found a poor wise man (Ecclesiastes 9:15), who was fed up

connections with other kings, nor was he trained to battle, yet he possessed one thing called
wisdom. With his wisdom he took that city out of the control of this king and he delivered it. The

economy is slow, the rest of the world usually follows. At the start of the 2016 year, China s stock

reasoning for choosing agriculture and industry was that one could not blossom without the other.
Agriculture needed industry because they needed the best machinery and equipment to succeed,
while the industry would prosper if it was fed well by agriculture. To do this, the government took
complete control. Schools, tools, retirement homes, entertainment, and healthcare were all provided
by the government (Trueman). This would ensure all the people could work. After the first year,
everything seemed great according to plan. Things would turn around at the start of 1959. In
1959, the government wanted its people to work faster to produce more products. This caused
workers to work long hours every day. Due to the quick production, the goods lacked quality. The
steel that was produced was too weak for construction, which was its intended purpose. Buildings

In so few words, the Zapatistas are a people united in the struggle for the rights and dignity of the
indigenous people of Mexico. They are a group composed of the natives to the land of the state of
Chiapas, the southernmost and poorest state in Mexico, which primarily consists of the tribes of the
Mayan peoples. The conditions that these indigenous people live in are a testament to the injustices
caused by the spread of colonialism and capitalism and the blind eye that its institutions and

A Brief History of Mexico
This timeline is of events in Mexico relevant to the indigenous population and the forming of the
EZLN. It is important to consider the history as far back as the 1500 s because this is the date in
which the struggle started. To think of the EZLN as having only a modern origin and cause is to
ignore the root of their ideology, as noted by Martin Espada in the documentary Storm from the
Mountain.
The Zapatista uprising didn t spring out of nowhere, not even the Mexican Revolution of 1910.
The Zapatista uprising began the day Christopher Columbus landed in the Americas five centuries
ago. The Zapatista uprising will continue and it will find other countries and it will find other
names until we have rid ourselves of the legacy of Columbus, of the legacy of imperialism,
conquest, genocide, racism. 1

47. Advantages And Disadvantages Of Modes Of Entry
Because there with the modes exports, a firm must have many bureaucratic things to do with the
government.
The export mode does not allow closer control over production, marketing, and other business
operations so to get over control a firm must use the mode of JVS.
There is going to be better domestic market information provided by domestic JV partner.
The major benefit of joint ventures is that the contributors of intermediate inputs get a claim on any
residuals. This theory implies that international joint ventures would be undertaken when other
modes of entry such as direct foreign investments and corporate acquisitions are costlier.
(Janakiramanan, 2004)
So, exports and other entry modes can be costlier than JV and this is going to be related to the JVs.
But of course, there is also some kind of disadvantages compared to the exports. The major of
disadvantage is a conflict of interest which cannot be found in the modes exports. For instance,
issues such as profit shares amount invested, management of the business and marketing strategy
can occur if there is no well structured agreement. The thing is to be careful about the selection of
the partner so that the risks are minimized. As said the formulation of the contract is the key ...

Do you ever think to yourself that some of you birthdays are more valuable than others?
Personally, I happen to thinks some of my birthdays aren t as fun as when I was six years old.
Currently I am eighteen years old and as the years have gone I ve realized how different things
have been. I must say I don t remember all of my birthdays from when I was a kid, although I do
remember a few of them. When I was five I had a birthdaypartyand my mom hired a clown. I guess
the lady was very friendly she handed out prizes and played with the children. It was like having
a sister for the first time. Although I have to say I m not a big fan of clowns, this woman made
my fifth birthday party an outstanding time! Her name was Betty, and clown Betty had paint
with her, so she painted all the children s faces. I believe she had painted a pink butterfly on my
face and my father had painted his face as Spider Man. I also recall playing many games, it just
happened to be musical chairs that I won on. For my prize I had to pick out of a huge surprise
box, I was very happy with my prize I had won myself a Snow White game for my Gameboy.
Some of the girls got a bit jealous and would say that the clown would only let me win because it
was my birthday. In my opinion I think they were just upset that I had won and they didn t. I also

49. Beowulf And Viking Qualities During The Medieval Times
Beowulf and Viking qualities
During the medieval times Vikings were known as warriors or heroes. These heroes were known
mostly for their superhuman strength. Most stories tell the journey of these warriors and how they
are honored after defeating an evil creature. A prime example of this would be the poem of Beowulf
. Beowulf is known for his superhuman strength as the Vikings or warriors once were. However,
Vikings were not only known for their physical qualities, they were also known for their
leadership in battle and their interaction with those they serve as well as the courage they
displayed. In this poem, Beowulf displays many characteristics as that of a medieval warrior
through his acts of bravery, loyalty, generosity, courage, and an accomplishment of a great task.
This epic poem written by an anonymous writer takes places during the medieval times in
Heorot. The town of heorot is being troubled every night by a gruesome appearing creature by
the name of Grendel. Grendel raids the mead hall of the Danish warriors and brutally kills them.
Beowulf is called upon by the king of heorot, Hrothgar, to fight Grendel and save the Danish
people from any more destruction. Beowulf, along with his following warriors, travel overseas to
help the town. He ultimately wins however the battle is not yet over. After defeating Grendel
Beowulf then has to face his overprotecting mother which he also defats later on in the story in her
cave under a nearby lake. After this battle,

51. Aspects And Effects Of The Space Race
Brooks Brumby Mr. Hubbard November 17, 2017 The Space Race: Aspects and Effects The
Space Race was a competition between the Soviet Union and the United States to see which
nation could achieve spaceflight dominance before the other. The Race began on August 2, 1955
and ended nearly 40 years later in December of 1991. The Space Race began because of two
major factors that would carry it until its end. The Soviet Union s announcement that they were
going to began building and using satellites to use in space days before the United States
planned to announce the same thing helped fuel the fire for the competition. The Cold War also
played a very influential role in the competitiveness between the countries and would inspire
them to be better and work harder than their rival. The general public also played a key role in
the race. Reinforcing your country s involvement in the race gave them the all clear to spend
money to build these space crafts, satellites and other technology in order to not only win, but to
please the people. If a country has the support of its people they can accomplish anything.
Propaganda like posters became a great way of encouraging the people to get involved and stay
involved. Posters depicted great spaceships only seen in movies, engrained a hatred for the
opposing country, the influence the race had on the future, and astronauts as real life superheroes
like Superman. Most importantly the Space Race was a time of great inventions that carry on to

53. Should Child Beauty Pageants Be Allowed
Every year, about five thousand child beauty pageants are held, with over 250,000 contestants.
These beauty pageants, in which children compete for prizes and money, have been around since
the late 1800s and were derived off of women beauty pageants. However, what many people do not
realize is how damaging these contests can be for young children. Many countries, such as France,
have banned beauty pageants for those under the age of sixteen, hoping that other countries would
do the same. Despite this, the United States still has not taken any action about it. Childbeauty
pageants should not be allowed for many different reasons.
One of the reasons why child beauty pageants should not be allowed is because it can cause low
self confidence. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is a logical argument, as the point of these pageants is to recognize the best contestant, and
award them. Though the winner of the contest would be winning a generous amount of money,
there would be a lot of money being spent as well, and for contestants who do not win, it would
be a waste. For example, entry fees to contests usually cost as much as 400 dollars, dresses and
costumes cost hundreds of dollars, and coaching lessons cost money as well. On top of all that, is
it really worth risking health issues for a chance to win a beauty contest? There can be only one
winner, so the rest of the contestants are going to think that they are not good enough to be
victorious, which causes low self confidence. This is going to lead children to compare themselves
to others and try to change. Studies have shown that about 50% of previous beauty pageant
contestants between the ages of eleven and sixteen have considered getting cosmetic surgery, trying
to look like others, or changing what they do not like about themselves. It is not worth to
jeopardize all the health issues that can be caused by these contests just to have a chance to win

Scenario two:

I would levy and ad valorem anti dumping tariff, (Ad Valorem Duty means value added; it refers
to a duty, tariff, or tax that is a percentage of the price of the product.). Because
2.At what level would you set the tariff or quota?
I would set the tariff at $40/unit, because even though the tariff raises the price of the product
and can lead to loss in consumer surplus, some of this loss is compensated by a gain in the
government s revenue from the tariff. This leads to a lower deadweight loss as compared to what
happens with a quota. This tariff is 25% of the export price which is equal to the dumping margin.
As the price of watches increases because of the tariff, imports from Suntize decline to 2.00 million
units and domestic production increases to 6.00 million units.

Yes I would impose a tariff on imported corn from Uthania and Alfazia because I need to protect my
