Race And Ethnicity Essay
Writing an essay on the topic of race and ethnicity is no simple task. It's a complex and sensitive
subject matter that requires a deep understanding of historical contexts, sociological theories, and
contemporary issues. One must navigate through layers of cultural intricacies, political
implications, and personal experiences while remaining objective and empathetic.
Researching this topic involves delving into a plethora of academic sources, ranging from
scholarly articles and books to statistical data and case studies. It's essential to critically analyze
various perspectives, acknowledging the diversity of viewpoints within academic discourse while
also recognizing the lived realities of marginalized communities.
Crafting a coherent thesis statement requires careful consideration of the central arguments and
themes to be explored. Whether discussing systemic racism, cultural identity, or the
intersectionality of race with other social constructs, the essay must provide a nuanced analysis
supported by evidence and logical reasoning.
Moreover, writing about race and ethnicity entails confronting uncomfortable truths and
challenging societal norms. It demands introspection and self-awareness to recognize one's own
biases and privileges, ensuring that the narrative remains respectful and inclusive.
In conclusion, tackling the subject of race and ethnicity in an essay demands intellectual rigor,
emotional intelligence, and a commitment to social justice. It's a challenging yet essential
endeavor that requires sensitivity, empathy, and a dedication to fostering understanding and
dialogue.

Ethics And The Code Of Ethics In Schools
Ethics in School
Meaning
Ethics is a science that deals with the ideals involved in human conduct. In other
words, it is the rules or standards, governing the conduct of a person or the conduct
of the members in a profession. It relates to the social rules that influence a person to
be honest while dealing with other people. The word ethics is originated from a Greek
word Ethos which means character or manner.
Introduction
Ethics are concerned with the moral actions of human beings. We can see the practice
of ethics in almost every profession. In schools, ethics applies to the management
board, administration, teachers and most importantly students. For each entity, a code
of ethics is created either from within the educational institution, through professional
organizations or by both. Here the code of ethics provides ethical standards that
people associated with the school, as discussed above, are expected to follow in
conjunction with each other as laid by the decision making bodies. In India, the code
of professional Ethics for School Teachers is followed as per the instructions laid
down by National Council for Teacher Education(NCTE). ... Show more content on

governance by the Principal of a school. The governance become effective when the
teachers and the students follow the codes of ethics laid down by administration and

Analysis Of The Poem The River That The Boy Spirit
She cleaned the spirit s dirty body and found out that the dirty things all came from
human s rubbish that discharged into rivers and lakes (Napier, 2006). After
Chihiro cleaned the spirit, this lets him not suffering from pollution. Then the
spirit gave Chihiro some treasure that also showed Miyazaki s view that if people
try to protect the nature, nature will also return something for humans (Napier,
2006). Another environmental concern in Spirited Away was a boy who used to
be the spirit of a river near Chihiro s old town, but he forgot his name. And he was
working in the spa center because the river was filled by human to build a highway
(Reider, 2005). Miyazaki s view changed because his life changed at that time.
Japan has developed quickly at that time especially the industry, but people ignored
that some activities could harm the environment. Also, Napier stated Miyazaki
explained that the inspiration for the river that the boy spirit was a personal
experience of his own when he helped to clean a polluted river near his home
(Napier, 2006). Miyazaki wanted to use the magic film to tell people the truth what
they did. Their behaviors reflected their daily life that damaged the environment
with no intention and also encouraged people to solve the problem in order to
protect the environment. Ponyo on the Cliff Miyazaki s recent film is Ponyo on the

Laurence Binyon Poem
Throughout many literary text the themes of courage and sacrifice are commonly
displayed. Laurence Binyon s poem is one great example that demonstrates this as
he writes in dedication to the fallen from World War One. Through a respectful and
constantly calm tone he focuses his writing on the remarkable sacrifices made by
soldiers as well as writes to express the idealistic point of view towards war many
people had including himself. The authors image of the soldier s death is being
reflected in the poem as They fell with their faces to the foe . This line adds an
alliteration effect explaining that the soldiers fell in harsh and abrupt ways, as
well as granting the reader a pure image of what war was really like. The repetition
of the f s adds an artistic style to the poem and therefore it creates a line of text that
is more entertaining and appealing to read. The whole poem relates to the many
soldiers who died during World War One and the third stanza being the most well
known and rehearsed in today s society; They shall grow not old, as we that are left
grow old: Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the
sun and in the morning, We will remember them. embodies the profound sense of
respect, admiration and grief that shapes the true meaning of remembrance. These
lines are situated at the heart of the poem as they are the most valued by the author
and present an argument that the dead are immortalised in the memory of the living.

American Folk Hero Davy Crockett
You may all go to Hell, and I will go to Texas (www.brainyquote.com). Words spoken
by the famous American folk hero Davy Crockett. Oddly enough Texas would bring
about many Hellish debates, and conflicts throughout most of the middle nineteenth
century. For Texas the debate about statehood was at hand, and the country was a
split about its status as a slave or free state. While at the same time the country
wanted to avoid an all out war with Mexico. Events like the Missouri Compromise
and the Mexican Independence from Spain would impact future events leading up
to the independence of Texas in 1836. Leaders like Colonels Gregorio Gomez and
William Travis who viewed Texas as their peoples land, would act on their ambitions
to claim Texas for their respective countries. While back in the states people such as
abolitionist Benjamin Lundy and the Charleston Mercury newspaper would voice
their opinions of slaveryin Texas. Through these events and sources the reader can
find evidence about the unique challenges the country faced regarding Texas
statehood. To get a better picture of the Texas situation, the reader most glance back
in time and examine some important dates before 1836. In 1820 Congress passed
the Missouri Comprise introducing two new states into the Union; Missouri a slave
state, and Maine a free state. Congress also agreed that the southern border of
Missouri (Parallel 36В°30) was to serve as the boundary between slave and free states

Positive And Negative Effects Of Single Parent Families
The number children being raised in single parent households is continuously
growing. There are positive and negative effects for children that grow up in this
type of a household. Children who only live with one parent tend to have better
financial and educational advantages. Single parent homes can impact several
aspects of a child s life. Children see their parentas being very independent, and often
they learn to be independent too. The parent raising the childhas the biggest effecton
the child. How the child is raised can affect many different outcomes of the child s
life (Kunz, 2015, April 15). One big effect single parent households have is that one
parent is absent. This can cause a child to perform poorly in school. Generally, single
parent households are run by the mother and the father is absent. Often times when
the parent is only receiving one income, they work more often. This can cause the
child to receive less attention and have less help with their homework. The effect that
the other parent, not living in the house, has on the child is huge. It is proven that
children tend to do better in school and in life in general when both parents are
involved in their life. Only having one income in the household makes it at risk for
poverty. When children live in poverty it can have many emotional effects on them.
Some children feel abandonment, loneliness, sadness, and troubles with socializing
or connecting with others. Children also feel the emotions of low
Swimming Process Analysis
For rowing, or any sport in general, it is important for a coach to have a plan and
structure no matter what the task is at hand. When determining what goes into a
practice, as a coach, I would sit down Sunday night and think about the overall theme
that I would want my athletes to focus on that week during practice. I would think of
the drills, how long I want the longer endurance or sprint pieces to be, and determine
what the boat lineup will be. The beginning of the practiceon the water would be drill
work and technique focused, while the remaining part of practice would be dedicated
to the endurance or sprint work. After figuring out what I want each practice to
entail, I would send an email out to my rowers outlining what the week will... Show

When we are on the water it is really difficult for a rowing coach to have any control
over that boat, because since they are not in it, sometimes it can be hard to figure out
what has got them all riled up. But as a coach, you have to work through the
guesswork sometimes and figure out what is going to get through your

Prejudice And Stereotypes
Prejudice is a hostile or negative attitude toward people in a distinguishable group.
We can all be affected by prejudice for the things that make us different from one
another. Our brain naturally puts people into different categories, and the differences
can influence our preference of them. When we put people in different categories, we
often make assumptions about these categories based off of their differences.
Schemas are a mental shortcut that allows us to think about something faster. As we
are growing up, we are making a ton of schemas for everything, including groups of
people. A stereotypecan be a schema because they think of a group of people as
something and easily associate the characteristics and the group of people. These
assumptions... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Soon, everytime Rosa speaks to you, she speaks loudly because she assumes you
cannot hear her from past experience. This confirms your belief that Rosa, and
other people of that group, are loud. There is also the issue of stereotype, this is in
which victims are concerned that if they follow a common stereotype about them,
they are confirming it and not helping the situation, making it worse. For example,
in my experience, because I am Hispanic, people assume that I really like spicy
food. Sometimes, I feel that I should express how much I like spicy food because I
worry that it just confirms people s stereotypes about Hispanic people so I am
tempted to act unlike myself and lie in order for them to believe differently.
Stereotype threat can also affect victims because they are reminded of their
stereotype and subconsciously act towards that stereotype. For example, the
stereotype that women are not as smart as men in math and science are likely to do
poorly on tests that remind them of that stereotype ( Indicating you are a woman on
the test before you
Human Resource Management Essay example
The Employment relationship is the only reason public and private limited
organisations work effectively. The Employment relationship is a fragile tie between
an employer management and employee worker . This relationship can be affected
by 3 factors which are interests, control and motivation. Employers have to balance
these factors in order to maintain a productive working relationship.
Employment relationship works like any other relationship, commitment is required
from both sides. In this case the employer and employee need to have a form of
understanding and objectives need to be in common. This is not impossible therefore
both sides agree upon a mutual decision however interests can be opposed and have

The reciprocal rights and obligations are created between the employer and employee
through the employment relationship and to an extent this is effective. Management
has developed HRM approaches to managing the employment relationship however
whether this is effective and successful is debatable. HRM represents Human
Resource Management which is a strategic, integrated and highly distinctive
managerial approach to industrial relations
There are many forms of approaches used by HRM in managing the employment
relationship however there are only two types of HRM; Hard HRM and Soft
HRM. Hard HRM uses employees as a resource whereas Soft HRM shows
emphasis on employees from a human element therefore more subtle compared to
the other. By adopting the hard HRM employees are treated as resources and are
controlled as much as possible. In some cases employees are even paid less in
wages because management think they can do so with this form of HRM. In the
soft HRM employees are acknowledged and valued. Employees skills are always
developed and training is vital so that employees are used at their best.
This is managements perspective of HRM being categorised however there is a big
difference between HRM theories and the practical
Primates, Humans, And Humans
Primates, unlike humans are found only in tropical or subtropical regions of the
Americas, African, and Asian continent. Primates come in different sizes and shapes.
They range from Lemurs as small as, Madame Berthes Mouse Lemur to the largest
primate living known as the Eastern Gorilla. Primates, similar to humans are species
that play an important role in maintaining and influencing our ecological system.
They maintain the forest system between animals and its resources by taking on
various roles such as being herbivores, pollinators, and seed dispersers (Chapman
Peres, 2001). However, over time many species of primates have become endangered
and are threatened with extinction due to humanactivities such as HabitatDestruction,
Hunting/Bush meat, Pet Trade, and Diseases. It has been estimated that more than
50% of all primatespecies are faced with some sort of threat (Chapman Peres, 2001).
Leaving us with an increasing number of discovered and undiscovered primate
species endangered or at the brink of extinction. Primates are threatened by many
different factors but Hunting and Habitat Disturbance has become the most common
threats to primate survival. As the human population continues to grow and thrives to
meet its daily needs and resource demands (Oates, 2013). In other words, forest areas
are altered for urban and economic development through agricultural expansion,
logging, mining, road expansions, water projects and cattle grazing (Mittermeier,

who to call. While talking to Pignati she was trying to beat the score for the longest

What Do Teachers and Sumo Wrestlers Have In Common?
The book s authors Steven Levitt and Stephen Dubner, could have chosen a variety
of answers to this question but instead they decided upon one factor, cheating. In
most cases we see cheating as being unfair and as a society, we are expected to

Wouldn t you like a life like this one for your own kid?
So what to do? What can be the best possible way to parent a child? Which will
guarantee that the child is the most successful that it can be? I can think of only one
solution to that problem. You should raise the child the way that the child deserves
to be raised. The focus should be on what you can do to better help this child and
make them feel comfortable at home. It should not be solely about what you believe.
What about when the child doesn t know how to communicate their wants and needs?
Well,
I don t have a definite answer for that one since I have no prior parenting experience.
However, I can say that when a parent is worried about what I need and not just what

George Berkeley Research Paper
George Berkeley (1685 1753) is a very famous 18th Century philosopher from
Ireland. Berkeley is most famous work was for coming up with the view point
Esse Est Percipi , or to be is to be perceived. Based on Berkeley s findings, an idea
must be thought of or perceived in order to exist at all. And if everything in the
world (aside from minds) is made of ideas, then the existence of things, depends on
there being someone who perceives them. When you perceive a purple crayon,
according to many philosophers in the early modern period, you are in possession of
a representational state which in other words means that my mindis affected by a

persistence and regularity by using the infamous God. He says that all of our ideas

What Are The Three Main Types Of Conflicts
Conflict forms
According to Kurtzberg Mueller (2005), there are three main types of conflicts. The
first type of conflict they describe is process related conflict that is based on the
work procedures, how well work performance is and the obligations, roles, and
responsibilities of teams. The second form of conflict is relationship based conflict in
which relationships and interaction play a major part between team members and
individuals. Finally, the third type of conflict is task related conflict where
differences about the work itself causes a misunderstanding. Kurtzberg Mueller
(2005), states that there is a linear correlation between team performance and task
related conflicts and points out that sometimes task related conflicts ... Show more

Most people don t realize that for every action there is a reaction and there was some
type of trigger that made this person act out in a certain way. Runde and Flanagan
(2007) argues that understanding one s own behavior and trying to reflect on others
are key factors when trying to prevent the outbreak of conflicts . Know how to control
your own behavior and how to respond to others can eliminate escalation between
individuals. A conflict competent leader is aware about his/hers hot buttons and in
which situations they are triggered, therefore they are more prepared for situations
that are emotionally charged (Runde and Flanagan, 2007). Conflict Resolution
Even though conflict is prone to happen is organizations, there are always ways to
solve these problems and come up with some type of resolution. Rahim, Magner,
Shapiro, (2000) argues justice is one of the most important concerns for employee
conflict resolution in an organization . Justice in an organizations brings forth
positive attitudes and lets employees know that management is displaying fairness all
around and have good conflict management skills. If employees feel that they are
being treated fairly and managers stay unbiased, they will be more obligated to
compromise and be more cooperative in situations. Rahim et al. (2000) divides justice

A Brief History Of Drip Brew Coffee
Introduction: A Brief History
Drip brew coffee makers have existed since the early 1950 s. A drip brew coffee
maker is a device that pours boiling water over ground coffee beans in a slow
fashion, through the use of a filter system. As the water makes its way through the
beans, it absorbs the beans oils and aromas. The coffee grounds are retained in the
filter while the coffee is dripped into a pot. German inventor Melitta Bentz
introduced coffee filters in 1908. The majority of drip brew coffee makers use
paper filters while some use mesh filters. Paper filters are beneficial as they are
relatively inexpensive and the filter and grounds can easily be disposed of. Mesh
filters are also beneficial as they can easily be cleaned and reused an infinite
amount of times. In 1954, the first ever drip brew coffee maker was released onto
the market. It was called the Wigomat and was the first ever electric drip brew
coffee maker. A similar invention that was used to brew coffee in the early 1900 s
was a percolator. A coffee percolator is a pot, which allows boiling water to
circulate through the coffee grounds until desired intensity is acquired. Many were
disappointed with the percolator as it had the tendency to make coffee overly bitter.
Hence, in the 1970 s, drip brew coffee makers began to grow in popularity.
The Major Components: Introduction
Drip brew coffee is the most common method of coffee making in North America.

Individuals or companies that wish to be administrators must be registered and apply

under the Practice Directions of the Inspector General in Bankruptcy, which include

Gaps
These pieces of legislation do not apply to debt management firms that act as brokers,

within the scope of legislation or the Australian Financial Security Authority.
Another issue is that despite the coverage relating to unconscionable conduct, it is
difficult for consumers to be aware of the scope of the concept, and its legalistic
nature tends to alienate the vulnerable consumers that are in need of protection.

Changing The Face Of Mental Health
Changing The Face of Mental Health
Crystelle Rivas
Kaplan University Changing The Face of Mental Health
Mental illness plays a significant role in homelessness across America. Nearly 25%
of the homeless population in the United States suffers from some form of severe
mental illness (National Coalition for the Homeless, 2009). Because people with
severe mental handicaps have a harder time integrating into society without the help
of trained professionals, a large number of these individuals become homeless or have
placement issues. For this reason, mental health centers have been placed in
communities across the country in an effort to give these people a foundation for
growth and recovery. Since the mental health centers have limited ... Show more

The living conditions offered to the patients were basic and would be considered
unsuitable by any of today s standards. Not only did the institution have their patients
sleeping on cots and sharing rooms, they also did not offer any meaningful therapies
to help. In essence, patients were drugged and warehoused with their care in the
hands of a team which consisted of the entire staff, including the janitor (Milwaukee
County Asylum, 2013). Because this process was a typical occurrence in most mental
health institutions across America, they earned a bad reputation being known as
snake pits and got national attention.
In October of 1963, President John F. Kennedy signed his last piece of legislation,
which was meant to free thousands of patients from the unspeakable living conditions
they endured in institutions. President Kennedy s vision was to give these mentally
disabled people their dignity, along with more humane care, and offer actual therapy.
Unfortunately, President Kennedy was unable to see the bill through and help it
along some of the more difficult obstacles it faced because he was assassinated a
short three weeks after its signing. Although Kennedy s bill changed the mental
health industry significantly, only half of the community treatment centers were built
due to funding issues. Waukesha County opened the doors to its mental health center
in 1989 taking in the people with mental health issues and unruly behavior. To get a

Kevin Durant s Selection Process
July 1st is the beginning of the pursuit. We all knew it was coming. Kevin Durant
begins his selection process. With the massive TV deal leading to the rising cap,
Durant will have many options. He has narrowed it down to six teams; the Thunder,
Warriors, Spurs, Celtics, Heat, and Clippers. I have dissected the candidates.
Thunder No brainer. Durant was drafted by the Thunder (Supersonics) number 2
overall in the 2007 NBA draft. Durant has blossomed into a superstar with the
Oklahoma City Thunder. The 7X All Star described as the scoring prodigy has won
the scoring title four times. The face of the franchise, Durant is the leader and face of
the Oklahoma City Thunder. Before he makes the decision (no TV special needed),

KD in Green, charging out of the tunnel at the TD Bank North Garden to his first
NBA title, 18th franchise title, permanently stamping his title as one of the
greatest if all time. This is the scrawny kid that was chosen second to Greg Oden
(gotta love the NBA draft) in 2007. Durant is not about wasting anyone s time. JHe
wants to go where he can lead his team and win a title. A place he can call home,
cement his legacy. No better place than the Celtics. The Celtics are an organization
rich with tradition, from Larry Bird to Bill Russell, no one can argue the deep
history seeping through Legends Way around the Garden. Currently, they have a
solid young defensive team and the money to spend to acquire one or two missing
pieces. Durant has raved about the Celtics organization before. They are definitely the
dark horse in this game.
Heat All honesty, outside of the weather and no state tax I have no idea why he
would choose to go to the Heat. Whiteside is a free agent and will most likely sign
elsewhere, Wade will likely be resigned but is on the downside of his career, and
no Bosh. The Heat are expected to enter free agency with about $42 million in cap
space, there would have to be some maneuvering on the part of the Heat to sign
Durant and still have a team around him that can compete for the title. No
Community Of Practice
Introduction
As our world becomes increasingly complex, it is important for today s leaders to
develop a network of committed individuals who are willing to share knowledge and
wisdom, challenge beliefs, and invest in each other s success. These networks or
communities of practice take many different forms, such as professional learning
communities (PLC), professional learning networks (PLN), mentoring, coaching,
social media groups, or social media chats. Even though each community may take
many different shapes and forms, they share common characteristics, such as a
mutual interest, meaningful interaction, and the investment of time. Although
communities of practice require a significant investment of time, interaction, and
commitment, I ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Without time spent interacting and developing relationships with a group of
individuals, we fail to establish the trust that is necessary for growth to occur. Time
helps develop the trust which is required to challenge our thinking, motivate us to
learn from others, and cultivate growth. A good example of this occurred during the
time of Jesus three year ministry on earth. He invested a substantial amount of time
mentoring, coaching, and challenging his disciples to adequately prepare them to
share the gospel throughout Europe and Asia.
In our fast paced society, finding time is a difficult task; however, throughout my
interviews with leaders from various professions, I have been reminded me of the
correlation between time and growth. Not only is time essential for developing trust,
but it is also critical to growth. Many of the leaders I interviewed have learned to
spent significant amounts of time disciplining themselves practice their skills, learn
from others, and challenge their beliefs. Although I have always enjoyed learning, I
have found that I have isolated myself in my learning experiences. At times, I have
ignored and failed to appreciate the contributions of others. My ignorance has blinded
me from trying new ideas, challenging old beliefs, and trusting others enough to

Organ Donation Essay
Organ Donors Deserve Financial Compensation A girl named Ali was born with a
liver defect called Progressive Familial Intrahepatic Cholestasis. It wasn t until she
was nine that she was actually diagnosed and the prognosis was clear Ali s disease
would get progressively worse and she would die without a liver transplant. After a
six month wait and one false alarm, they got the call. A thirteen year old girl had
died and the liver was a match for Ali. The transplant was a success and the results
almost instantaneously. When I woke I remembered immediately noticing that my
skin and eyes were no longer yellow, and I didn t itch at all. It was amazing, says
Ali. Today, Ali is a healthy twenty year old junior college student double majoring
in art and geography (How Ali Received A New Liver). Ali s story was only 1 in
116,000 other patient transplant stories. Ali had to wait six months to receive her
much needed organ because there is an organ shortage occurring and the only way
to stop the shortage is to increase the number of organ donors, living or deceased. A
few ways to increase the amount of organ donors is to financially compensate the
organ donor or the organ donor s family for funerals, offer Medicare coverage, and
reimburse the donor of cost during the donation process. Just one donor can save the
lives of eight people and change the lives of more than fifty people. The need for
organ transplants continues to exceed the supply of organs which is resulting in the

INTRODUCTION
BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY
The aim of the dissertation is to research the diplomatic negotiating style of the
Filipino law enforcement by analyzing the events in its diplomatic history, namely the
bilateral negotiations with the Philippines during august 23, 2010.
For the past few days since the embarrassing hostage crisis that has brought
international shame again to our country, it has been reflecting on how we as a
Filipino people can collectively move forward from this incident. In cyberspace, many
people continue to express anger, rage, disappointment, frustration and sadness about
how our government particularly the Philippine National Police (PNP) ... Show more

Believe that majority of our police force are good and well meaning Filipino public
servants who went into the service to help our country. If the political leaders for
the past 5 years only used our funds properly instead of putting it in their own
pockets then that would have been able to develop an elite police force that would
be able to handle any type of crisis situation in a very effective manner. Making no
excuses for the Aquino administration because like said, they should ve been in full
control the moment the hostage crisis started but in reality they are also inheriting a
poorly trained and equipped PNP from the previous administration. Don t forget
that Aquino has been in power for barely two months while Robredo was just
appointed as DILG chief in the middle of July. It is with this reason that really
appalled by the way two very staunch supporters of former President Gloria
Macapagal Arroyo, Senator Miguel Zubiri and Albay s Rep. Edcel Lagman, are now
trying their darndest best to play hero and pin all the blame on Aquino and Robredo.
If they are really serious that they want to help our country and improve our image in
the international community, then perhaps they can begin by probing and supporting
an investigation on all the anomalies and corruption that happened during their boss
term.
Now, what can do to finally move forward? The greater challenge for us Filipinos is
to understand
Dorothea Mackellar’s My Country Essay
MY COUNTRY: ANALYSIS Dorothea Mackellar s My Country is a poem
expressing Mackellar s deep passion and love for her country, Australia. The whole
poem s intention seems to evoke the sense of praising for the country and express
Mackellar s deep relationship and passion with her land. Mackellar attains this
response from the audience by using numerous language techniques such as;
Juxtaposition, personification, sound patterns including alliteration and assonance,
imagery, and paradox. The use of first person throughout the whole poem suggests
that the theme of this poem has been evoked by personal experience. Mackellar
introduces the idea of Australia s distinctiveness firstly in the opening two stanzas, by

Imagery is used consistently right through the poem to evoke sensory experiences
and to endorse the theme. For instance: A stark white ring barked forest the sapphire
misted mountains the hot gold lush of noon and many more. All of these appeal to
the readers senses and places brilliant visual image(s) in our minds by illuminating
the various features of the country, from the perspective of the poems persona. This
is attained using; adjectives, the sapphire misted mountains¬¬¬ , which gives
us a picture of mountains with a bluish haze embracing it, this image would thus
give an impression of a composed environment and evoke a sense of tranquillity.
Additionally by using sapphire to illustrate the mist surrounding the mountains we
get a sense of Australia s uniqueness as sapphire is a rare gem. Imagery is also
displayed through a metaphor used to appeal to the sense of hearing. For example:
the drumming of an army, the steady soaking rain . Here Mackellar depicts the rain
as an army and allows us not only to visualize but get a sense of the sound of the rain,
which is presented through the adjective drumming . This line also presents to us the
intensity of the rain again through the adjectives drumming, steady and soaking . We
can presume from the numerous emphasized lines indicating Australia s uniqueness,
that the distinctiveness of Australia is the main reason for the persona s perplexing
attachment and love for her country.
Rodeo And Animal Abuse
Fans have argued that rodeo is abuse the the animals and others have argued that it s
not abuse to them. There are a lot of people who absolutely love the rodeo and come
to watch and support it. Then on the other hand, there are those people that hate it and
are totally against it because they believe it is abusive to the animals. Without the
animals, rodeos would not be possible; therefore, the care of the animals is of the
utmost importance to all participants and staff. A writer for Beef Magazine.com says,
Rodeos put animalhealth and welfare in front of fans. How rodeo has used
veterinary information to prepare for and respond to a range of questions can be an
example for the beef industry. (Ryan, 2013). This proves that during the rodeos

Chris Frith dissects the idea that the mental world is an illusion created by the brain in

Whether it is Emile Durkheim discussing the foundation of religious thought in
primitive people thousands of years ago, or Michael Shermer writing about how
the human brain constructs beliefs and reinforces them as truths, I am constantly

philosophical and religious thought in humans. I have come to the conclusion that
my epistemology is still in the making, and my sponge of a brain has not yet
absorbed enough experience and knowledge for me to feel confident in my own
thoughts and beliefs at this point in my life. I believe that with every new book or
article that I read, I feel my mind expanding more and more, and maybe one day I
will finally be able to say There really is a God out there, and I know this because...

come to the conclusion that our brain simply creates the idea of a God due to the
process of patternicity, the tendency to find meaningful patterns in both meaningful

philosophies as I can in order to bring me one step closer to discovering my own

The Book Of Revelations Is Divided Into These Sections
The Book of Revelations is divided into these sections:
I.Prologue (1:1 3)
II.Letters to the Churches of Asia (1:4 3:22)
III.God and the Lamb in Heaven (4:1 5:14)
IV.The Seven Seals, Trumpets, and Plagues, with Interludes (6:1 16:21)
V.The Punishment of Babylon and the Destruction of Pagan Nations (17:1 20:15)
VI.The New Creation (21:1 22:5)
VII.Epilogue (22:6 21)
(The New American Bible)
The Book of Revelations is the last book of the Bible. It has several extravagant
symbolisms, symbolic language, and literary conventions that account for the
apocalyptic literature. To understand the Book of Revelations adequately, we have to
understand the historical background in which it was written. During the critical time
that it was written, Christians were facing ruthless persecution of the early church by
the Roman authorities. The book is an exhortation and admonition to Christians of
the first century to stand firm in the faith and to avoid compromise with paganism,
despite the threat of adversity and martyrdom; they are to await patiently the
fulfillment of God s mighty promises. (The New American Bible) The book creates
a message of hope for God s people and it remains valid and meaningful for
Christians of all ages. Revelation affirms Christianity s original hope for an
immediate transformation of the world and assures the faithful that God s
prearranged plan, including the destruction of evil and the advent of Christ s
universal reign, is soon to be accomplished.
Informative Speech On Type 2 Diabetes
There are many medical diseases that people have. A type of medical disease that a
lot of people have is diabetes. Many suffer from this disease, and it is becoming
more common. In my life I know of two family members who have diabetes. It
doesn t seem like diabetes is a big deal, but it actually is life threatening to some.
Diabetes doesn t just occur in certain people. It can be diagnosed to anybody, but
more commonly in obese people. As of 2015, 30.3 million Americans had diabetes
(CDC Newsroom). Some causes of diabetes is obesity, and family history. Diabetes
is also diagnosed when your body doesn t get enough or any insulin. Another cause of

Another type of diabetes is Gestational diabetes. This type of diabetes occurs only
in pregnant women. Not many people are diagnosed with this type, but it can be a
risk. Even if you are diagnosed with gestational diabetes the baby will still be
healthy. If you have gestational diabetes, then you are more likely to get type 2 in the
future.
In order to know if you have diabetes you have to get tests done. A test you can get
done to see if you have diabetes is an A1C test. An A1C test measures the
percentage of blood sugar attached to hemoglobin. If your blood sugar is high then
more sugar will be attached to the hemoglobin. 5.7 is a normal A1C level. If your
A1C level comes back 6.5 or higher you will be diagnosed with diabetes. It is better
to get a test done by a professional, rather than just trying to do the test

Feminism And The Social Movements Of The Twentieth
Century
Research Methodology:
Unquestionably, feminism will be seen by historians as one of the strongest social
movements of the twentieth century. Ideas that the rights of women should be
included among the rights of all people existed as a coherent set since the late 1860s
and culminated in women s right to vote in the early twentieth century (Stromquist,
2009).
Since the current research is addressing the issue of gender equity in higher education
in Egypt, it is using the Feminist theory as a theoretical background for driving
research goal. It is one of the major contemporary sociological theories, which
analyzes the status of women and men in society with the purpose of using that
knowledge to better women s lives. Feminist theorists also question the differences
between women, including how race, class, ethnicity, sexuality, nationality, and age
intersect with gender. Feminist theory is most concerned with giving a voice to
women and highlighting the various ways women have contributed to society.
Feminist theories first emerged as early as 1792 in publications such as A
Vindication of the Rights of Woman by Mary Wollstonecraft, The Changing Woman
and so on. The Changing Woman is a Navajo Myth that gave credit to a woman who,
in the end, populated the world. In 1851, Sojourner Truth addressed women s rights
issues through her publication, Ain t I a Woman. Sojourner Truth addressed the issue
of women having limited rights due to men s flawed perception of women. Truth

  • 4. Laurence Binyon Poem Throughout many literary text the themes of courage and sacrifice are commonly displayed. Laurence Binyon s poem is one great example that demonstrates this as he writes in dedication to the fallen from World War One. Through a respectful and constantly calm tone he focuses his writing on the remarkable sacrifices made by soldiers as well as writes to express the idealistic point of view towards war many people had including himself. The authors image of the soldier s death is being reflected in the poem as They fell with their faces to the foe . This line adds an alliteration effect explaining that the soldiers fell in harsh and abrupt ways, as well as granting the reader a pure image of what war was really like. The repetition of the f s adds an artistic style to the poem and therefore it creates a line of text that is more entertaining and appealing to read. The whole poem relates to the many soldiers who died during World War One and the third stanza being the most well known and rehearsed in today s society; They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old: Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning, We will remember them. embodies the profound sense of respect, admiration and grief that shapes the true meaning of remembrance. These lines are situated at the heart of the poem as they are the most valued by the author and present an argument that the dead are immortalised in the memory of the living.

Oddly enough Texas would bring about many Hellish debates, and conflicts throughout most of the middle nineteenth century. For Texas the debate about statehood was at hand, and the country was a split about its status as a slave or free state. While at the same time the country wanted to avoid an all out war with Mexico. Events like the Missouri Compromise and the Mexican Independence from Spain would impact future events leading up to the independence of Texas in 1836. Leaders like Colonels Gregorio Gomez and William Travis who viewed Texas as their peoples land, would act on their ambitions to claim Texas for their respective countries. There are positive and negative effects for children that grow up in this type of a household. Children who only live with one parent tend to have better financial and educational advantages. Single parent homes can impact several aspects of a child s life. Children see their parentas being very independent, and often they learn to be independent too. The parent raising the childhas the biggest effecton the child. How the child is raised can affect many different outcomes of the child s life (Kunz, 2015, April 15). One big effect single parent households have is that one parent is absent. This can cause a child to perform poorly in school. Generally, single parent households are run by the mother and the father is absent. Often times when the parent is only receiving one income, they work more often. This can cause the child to receive less attention and have less help with their homework. The effect that the other parent, not living in the house, has on the child is huge. It is proven that children tend to do better in school and in life in general when both parents are involved in their life. Only having one income in the household makes it at risk for poverty. When children live in poverty it can have many emotional effects on them. Some children feel abandonment, loneliness, sadness, and troubles with socializing or connecting with others. Children also feel the emotions of low

A drip brew coffee maker is a device that pours boiling water over ground coffee beans in a slow fashion, through the use of a filter system. As the water makes its way through the beans, it absorbs the beans oils and aromas. The coffee grounds are retained in the filter while the coffee is dripped into a pot. German inventor Melitta Bentz introduced coffee filters in 1908. The majority of drip brew coffee makers use paper filters while some use mesh filters. Paper filters are beneficial as they are relatively inexpensive and the filter and grounds can easily be disposed of. Mesh filters are also beneficial as they can easily be cleaned and reused an infinite amount of times. In 1954, the first ever drip brew coffee maker was released onto the market. It was called the Wigomat and was the first ever electric drip brew coffee maker. A similar invention that was used to brew coffee in the early 1900 s was a percolator. If the political leaders for the past 5 years only used our funds properly instead of putting it in their own pockets then that would have been able to develop an elite police force that would be able to handle any type of crisis situation in a very effective manner. Making no excuses for the Aquino administration because like said, they should ve been in full control the moment the hostage crisis started but in reality they are also inheriting a poorly trained and equipped PNP from the previous administration. Don t forget that Aquino has been in power for barely two months while Robredo was just appointed as DILG chief in the middle of July. Now, what can do to finally move forward? The greater challenge for us Filipinos is to understand

Here Mackellar depicts the rain as an army and allows us not only to visualize but get a sense of the sound of the rain, which is presented through the adjective drumming . This line also presents to us the intensity of the rain again through the adjectives drumming, steady and soaking . We can presume from the numerous emphasized lines indicating Australia s uniqueness, that the distinctiveness of Australia is the main reason for the persona s perplexing attachment and love for her country.

The Book Of Revelations Is Divided Into These Sections The Book of Revelations is divided into these sections: I.Prologue (1:1 3) II.Letters to the Churches of Asia (1:4 3:22) III.God and the Lamb in Heaven (4:1 5:14) IV.The Seven Seals, Trumpets, and Plagues, with Interludes (6:1 16:21) V.The Punishment of Babylon and the Destruction of Pagan Nations (17:1 20:15) VI.The New Creation (21:1 22:5) VII.Epilogue (22:6 21) (The New American Bible) The Book of Revelations is the last book of the Bible. It has several extravagant symbolisms, symbolic language, and literary conventions that account for the apocalyptic literature. To understand the Book of Revelations adequately, we have to understand the historical background in which it was written. During the critical time that it was written, Christians were facing ruthless persecution of the early church by the Roman authorities. The book is an exhortation and admonition to Christians of the first century to stand firm in the faith and to avoid compromise with paganism, despite the threat of adversity and martyrdom; they are to await patiently the fulfillment of God s mighty promises. (The New American Bible) The book creates a message of hope for God s people and it remains valid and meaningful for Christians of all ages. Revelation affirms Christianity s original hope for an immediate transformation of the world and assures the faithful that God s prearranged plan, including the destruction of evil and the advent of Christ s universal reign, is soon to be accomplished.
