Training and career development are very necessary
in any company or organization that aims at
progressing. Training simply refers to the process of
acquiring the essential skills required for a certain
job. It targets specific goals, for instance
understanding a process and operating a certain
machine or system. Career development, on the
other side, puts emphasis on broader skills, which
are applicable in a wide range of situations. This
includes decision making, thinking creatively and
managing people.

organized, flexible and approachable.
 The generic mentoring process of needs
assessment ,counseling, negotiation and
conflict solving, observation, assessment of
effective teaching report writing, giving and
receiving and negative feedback, setting
targets and working collaboratively.

Delegates generally have to complete standard modules, so there is little room for tailoring the programme to account for existing knowledge, skills or preferences.  Not always sufficiently similar to the ‘live’ working environment to ensure effective skills transfer.  Best suited to transfer of knowledge and certain skills rather than the development of personal qualities or competencies

Coaching and counselling share many core skills. However, professional counsellors work with personal issues in much greater depth than would generally be explored within a coaching context.
  • 10. Training and career development are very necessary in any company or organization that aims at progressing. Training simply refers to the process of acquiring the essential skills required for a certain job. It targets specific goals, for instance understanding a process and operating a certain machine or system. Career development, on the other side, puts emphasis on broader skills, which are applicable in a wide range of situations. This includes decision making, thinking creatively and managing people.

  • 12.  training and mentoring both promote learning.  Mentoring/training enhance the education process.  training and mentoring process that benefit both mentor and mentee.  Teacher training is a complex process involving skills.  Training mentor skills for middle manager therefore becomes essential.
  • 13.  An effective mentoring is good interpersonal skills.  Mentors should be encouraging, empathetic, good listeners, reflective and analytical. Well organized, flexible and approachable.  The generic mentoring process of needs assessment ,counseling, negotiation and conflict solving, observation, assessment of effective teaching report writing, giving and receiving and negative feedback, setting targets and working collaboratively.
